what's up everybody? today I'm here to talk about the DC EU, now this week will

be a very big week for the DC Universe you know this Saturday at comic-con in

San Diego they have announced that they will be releasing a teaser trailer for

Shazam as well as Aquaman and today we aren't going to be analyzing the

pictures that it's out there and see what are these pictures actually telling

us am I here to DC fan I love the DC Universe I grew up with mostly the DC

characters however it's very sad to see them filming as far as the movies go you

know it's mostly to do with their lack of planning but I am very hopeful and

I'm very excited to see what do they have in store for the new these new

movies that are coming out very soon the first one that we will be talking

today's Shazam Shazam is a very interesting character no it's very

similar to Superman as far as being just the ultimate nice guy but the good the

fun thing about Shazam is that he's actually a kid you know he's literally a

kid that when he says she's them he turns into a superhero so I think the

story of Shazam is kind of really compelling because it is every kid's

ultimate fantasies to become a superhero and that's why I think this is a very

cool character and the other interesting thing about it is also the fact that you

know when you have a kid going to an adult body but you're still acting it

you still have that kid mentality it's very fun to watch this kind of dynamic

on screen and that's if you haven't seen the movie bed you can totally see Tom

Hanks kind of doing that you know he's the kid that he turns in like magically

turns into an adult and it's real really fun to see that kind of

interaction so I'm very excited for Shazam you know now the first picture

that we're gonna take a look is this one here BAM we see the two kids over there

I know Shazam along with his best friend now the really cool thing about this

picture that it tells us a lot about what DC's really trying to do which is

now it's implementing you know kind of linking the world of DC so first we

already know from this the picture that this movie takes place after the events

of Justice League and that is because of the poster in a very back if you have a

look over there and it says Superman is back a Daily Planet poster so we already

know that Superman is alive so this is definitely going to take place after

Justice League we also have a Batman action figure over there

you know Superman hats show them at least in the animation was a Superman

fan boy and I hope that they would do the same you know because he always

looked up to Superman and then at the very in the shell cover that there's a

magazine that says time and we can clearly see Zod's

ship spaceship and that's covering the events that happen on Man of Steel so

this is a really cool thing because we know that they're going to you know try

to do what they should have been done doing from the very beginning which is

linking the entire world of the DC Universe so really I cannot wait to see

the interaction of these two kids you know I really know mostly Jack Dillon

from the movie it he is a very talkative kid and he's very funny kid and he I'm

so so excited to see his interaction with not only he is a best friend as a

kid but when he also turns into the superheroes Shazam and the other picture

we have is this one here again his best friend interacting with the adult you

know superhero Shazam I really like I'm digging the costume and I I think this

movie for the looks of it it seems like it's going to be very fun enough the

colors the thing with the colors of the film

we were only going to see if this is going to be a very bright film when the

trailer and the teaser is out but if they're really going by the same colors

that the pictures are showing it seems like it's going to be like a very fun

movie you know but yeah it's really cool that you can see his friend interacting

with his bigger I cannot wait this gets me really excited and then the other

pictures this one over here very nice they're getting out of like it would

seems like a convenience store right drinking soda

Cola it says Cola here we have a full look of the suit now she's in when I've

always watched the animation and I always thought that he had kind of a

silly costume anyways but I'm very glad that they kept it very true to the

comics you know and especially because again the costume although I do think it

looks silly but you have to remember that this is a child now this is a

little cute child that turns into a superhero but yeah I think the details

are very good you know I'm digging the boots very nice and then a really cool

belt as well you can totally see that these two characters are going to have a

lot of fun together hopefully they'll also raise the stakes

of the film by bringing in compelling villain again a movies always good when

you have a very strong you know our key enemy over there but the other thing

that I'm also really hoping to see in this film and if it doesn't really

happen I probably will be very disappointed is a Superman came you

especially because if you have a look at the picture you see a Superman hat you

know I don't know I just think that it will be very cool if we are able to see

a Superman cameo and I don't know this also begs the question perhaps shot

Shazam will join the Justice League going forward and again I'm really

rooting for these films because I really to see the DC Universe actually winning

instead of just failing because of their lack of planning and trying to rush

everything so now we're going to talk about Aquaman so this is the poster yeah

right there so this poster was you know released this week and the very cool

thing is that the Saturday we will also have a teaser trailer and I cannot wait

to see that hopefully they will release that on mine as well but what can I say

about this poster I think overall the poster looks really cool he knows a lot

of blue I love blue it's one of my favorite colors but I do have some

criticism on it and that is the fact that Jason were more you know although

he looks really cool it does seem a little photoshopped and it does not seem

like he's underwater so that's my biggest criticism there you know also a

lot of people have been saying that this poster looks exactly like Finding Nemo

and literally you cannot deny the similarities but I don't really care

about that you know it is similar but again it's it under the ocean and he

does talk to fish right so I really mind any of that but I do I do think that

they made a mistake I don't know the Photoshop is a little bit weird in my

opinion oh now I really think that Jason Momoa did bring the character to life

you know I've have never really been a fan of

mostly because I always sing this character such a silly character I've

never really seen what I could never really connect to the character and I

think it's because the way he looked you know I've always disliked oranges

actually my least favorite color and he had like this orange green suit I just

I've always thought that this character is very silly it's my least favorite

from the DC Universe but Jason Momoa actually changed that you know I read I

really enjoyed his portrayal I really like the way he carries the character

know his presence so it's very very very interested to see this film again really

hoping that is a fun film I know the other thing I was very happy to see on

the Justice League for instance is that he's armored it's so much is so cool

like you know instead of orange they have like this gold collar and it's kind

of darker color as well along with green and it really really make the character

seem more serious instead of just being I don't know that's silly orange

character you know there's another picture released as well and that would

be this one on the water this other picture over here there's also very cool

looks I'm really digging their costumes you know I don't really know about the

leather over there because you know Aquaman is supposed to be all about the

environment as well you know and worried about the oceans but these are kind of

the little details that sometimes I think the movies missed you know we see

under Justice League frames and Jason Momoa you know Aquaman is drinking a

bottle of whiskey and then he's throwing the bottom at the ocean and that's

pollution and again he's supposed to be about the environment supposed to care

about these things so this is kind of details that they're not really paying

attention I think that they should you know his details is important for this

film but anyways I'm really digging his his look you know here you can see the

full costume like cool boots you know again so happy to

ditch the orange and now even though for Shazam they keep they kept it very

traditional but with Jason Momoa I think this is a very modern look and it really

works so that's it guys those are the pictures that we have for this week and

I'm again very excited to know I really hope that the DC Universe get it

together it oh and give us some good fun action films because again I always

thought the DC had such great characters and it's hard to believe that they can't

get the movies right but anyways drop a comment below I would

An economic approach to Blockchain Democracy. Decentralized Central Banking. DEMCON 2018 Ireland - Duration: 10:40.

First of all, I want to thank Roslyn Fueller for the organization of this event, and to

greet the guests at the Democracy Convention in Ireland.

I am very pleased to join you with this short presentation that I have called "An economic

approach to Blockchain Democracy.

An experience from Southamerica" My name is Renny Rueda.

I am the founder of E-Codemocracy.

At E-Codemocracy, in Colombia, we attempted, in 2014 congressional elections, to articulate

the congress with citizens, by using a platform for direct electronic democracy.

Last year, in 2017, we attempted to provide the same solution by presenting a list of

11 citizens to transfer the vote of the people directly in to congress.

We have not being able reach those goals.

We have learned however a lot about the system, and we are eager to continue growing as a

political party in the future.

For this presentation I understand that I have a lapse of 10 to 15 minutes, and for

that I want to divide my presentation into 3 topics.

First of all, I would like to refer to the concept of democracy from a political perspective,

and how, in this perspective, the concept of democracy falls customarily on demagogy,

or lies.

Speaking from South America, I think this is a fundamental issue.

Especially nowadays, where thousands of Latin-Americans are leaving their home, escaping from totalitarianism,

to start again in a foreign country.

Second, I want to refer to the concept of democracy from a systemic perspective, and

how this definition has to fit into a new discussion about democracy itself, and how

it forces us to think that technology and the future, not only give shape to the external

part, the shell of democracy, represented in institutions and rules of the game, but

also have to shape our minds and brains, to understand and setup new conceptions of democracy

itself.

Third, I want to link this new conception of democracy with the economic system, and

particularly with the advances that technology in general, and particularly blockchain technology,

is contributing to contemporary societies, and can offer to the institution of central

banking.

An institution fundamental for the modern nation state, and to modern democracies.

To start I want to refer first to the concept of democracy, and how this concept naturally

tends to be used to inspire citizens, generally appealing to their passions, but usually,

especially in Latin America, derives in great humanitarian tragedies.

While the conference for Democracy in Ireland is taking place, In Latin America, thousands

of men, women, and children, young and older people are leaving Venezuela.

There is no fuel.

They have to walk hundreds of kilometers, to get to Colombia, from where I am speaking

to you.

They are basically escaping from famine.

Famine left by people who originally spoke about democracy in Venezuela, the richest

country of the region.

Today, by far, the poorest.

In this sense, I think it is imperative to remember the human, humanitarian, moral, economic

and political crisis that has plunged Venezuela in almost two decades, Cuba in more than 50

years, and Nicaragua in recent weeks, where more than 300 young people have died fighting

for freedom.

This is the great question of democracy.

At least from the perspective of the nation state.

And this is a question that, I believe, the Convention on Democracy in Ireland should

address, as part of a reflection on the political concept of democracy.

This reflection, I think, is fundamental to understand what is the approach that the citizens

of this century should give to the concept of democracy.

And especially, considering the great penetration that technology, science and economics in

all its manifestations, have in contemporary societies.

This, I believe, is also a reflection to understand, that in the 21st century, no definition of

democracy can be absent from the systemic implications that technology and knowledge

have left.

That one should not return to a concept of democracy based on a minimalist conceptions

of contemporary societies.

That the contemporary society is complex, not only socially, but especially, systemically,

informationally and technologically.

And that reducing democracy to simple approaches does not introduce more democracy, but less

democracy, chaos and injustice.

Second, I want to refer to an economic approach to democracy, and particularly to what I call

blockchain democracy.

For this, it is important to consider democracy as a social construction able to be sophisticated.

This means that in each stage of history, its application differs, keeping always, two

immutable variables.

• 1st.

That humans are able to reach higher stages of political organization dialogically.

That means, via communication, language, science and advanced stages or comprehension of the

outside world and coordination of the evolution of societies.

• 2nd.

That each human holds a single portion of political power of the society as a whole.

As such, democracy is a perfectible social and cultural construction on governance, inspired

by two factual features of humans:

1.

The capacity of the individual to be a natural owner of a single fraction of the general

political power.

2.

The capacity of individuals to participate, decide, engage, interact and coordinate decisions

dialogically with other individuals as members of society.

In this perspective, the above mentioned assumptions constitute the principles from which new conceptions

and applications of democracy evolve.

The institutional, systemic, procedural, formal or historical representation of those assumptions

vary over time, and therefore, democracy deals on how to better understand the different

institutional and technological structures of modern societies that allow increasing

levels of autonomous social coordination.

Meaning, higher levels of democracy as self-governance and social complexity.

It is in this approach where modern societies are highly indebted to the economic system

and to the formal educational systems.

On the one hand, without the contemporary economic system, and particularly, without

the market economy, we wouldn't have modernity, and as such, we would not be able to get increasingly,

in permanent global complex interactions.

However, the contemporary market economy, is based in technics, regulations and technologies

that go back to the early nation state.

From these techniques and technologies we often conceive the institutions that form

our democracies and economies.

As such, we take for granted, solutions that have certainly contributed to higher stages

of social complexity, but, solutions, institutions, techniques and technologies that need to be

upgraded.

The second variable has been the appropriation of technical and technological education into

social systems.

Hence, complex subsystems of education enhanced the transition of traditional structures of

organization, to scientific based and rational complex structures.

Today, the world is a totally different systemic organism, defined by new ways in which humans

interact and reach higher stages of social, technical and political sophistication.

It is in this historical moment, where blockchain technology, and blockchain solutions, offer

the capacity to conceive an institutional upgrade to democratic conventions.

The blockchain technology is commonly known as the technology behind bitcoin, the most

accepted cryptocurrency of the world.

It mixes up previous contributions on cryptology and software automatization protocols to create

solutions that eliminates intermediation, ensuring trust between individual using the

system.

The functional quality of blockchain technology lays in its capacity to automate complex transactions

between peers of a network, avoiding intermediaries, asymmetric power between agents of the system,

and ensuring different levels of security and privacy in a decentralized ledger, stored

by users.

Finally, It is in this quality of the technology, where I would like to address the possibility

to replace a fundamental institution of the modern nation state, that is, central banking.

Let me explain myself.

The figure of the central bank is necessarily connected to the figure of the nation state.

Specifically, it was precisely the ability to issue currency, which led some families

to embrace bourgeois private law, which subsequently was incorporated into the first nation states.

Specifically, creating currency is a right that each state of the planet has.

This right comes hand in hand with the right to profit for the seigniorage right, that

is, to earn money by issuing currency.

The income of each country by right of seigniorage, is derived from the difference between the

value of money and the cost to produce and distribute it.

The United States, for instance, benefit from the fact, that they produce currency that

has to be used for the rest of the planet, that is, currency that is official for international

transactions globally.

Generally speaking, each country, creates its own currency, and generally, the currency

is created by central banks.

As such, central banks represent a fundamental column of the modern nation state, and therefore,

central banks represent a taken for granted assumption of modern democracies.

Intrinsically, the contemporary political systems of the nation state, called democracies,

are inevitably articulated with the contemporary economic system, and each domestic economic

system is bounded to the institution of central banks.

Finally, as the name Central Bank implies, Central Banks are centralized.

That is, there is just a few actors behind, those who have the right to issue currency,

and, as such, to profit from this service.

At this point the question is, if we speak about blockchain democracy, should we only

speak about politics?

Or, is it possible to bring the notion of democracy and decentralization to the modern

economic system in order to develop protocols that decentralize banking, and specially,

public central banking?

That is a question to be addressed on the future.

I am confident, this is a question, we shall also discuss in the upcoming years, at the

democratic convention, to make blockchain democracy a systemic reality.

Hey everybody and welcome to Leia's Lair.

In this episode, I will be giving a condensed synopsis on the eventful life of everyone's

favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca.

Chewbacca, or Chewie was a Wookiee military warrior born in the year 220 BBY on the planet

Kashyyyk.

Here he had a family including a wife name Malla and son named Lumpawaroo.

Chewie participated in the Clone Wars, where he was captured by slavers and held captive

on Wasskah.

Here he met Ahsoka Tano, who he worked together with to escape.

Chewie would go onto command the Wookiees in the battle of Kashyyyk, where he would

work alongside Master Yoda.

When Order 66 was executed a short time later, Chewie would help Yoda to escape unharmed.

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Chewie and the other Wookiees would become enslaved.

After attempting to escape, he would be turned over to and subsequently imprisoned by the

Imperial Army on Mimban.

This is when he would meet Han Solo, whom he proclaimed a life debt to, after Solo helped

him escape.

For the years that followed, Chewie would work as a smuggler and co-pilot to Han.

Eventually, Han and Chewie would be hired by Obi-Wan Kenobi, who along with Luke Skywalker,

wanted transport to the planet Alderaan.

After finding that Alderaan had been destroyed, the group would head to the Death Star, where

they would rescue Princess Leia.

The group together would be paramount in the destruction of the Death Star, with Han and

Chewie coming to Luke's rescue.

Chewie would continue to work together with Han until the Battle of Endor and the fall

of the Empire.

After this, the two would go onto liberate Kashyyyk, and Chewie would be reunited with

his family.

Eventually Han and Chewie would join forces again, after Han's son Ben fell to the Dark

side and destroyed the New Jedi Order.

They would work together as smugglers until Han's untimely death at the hands of his

son.

Chewie would then join forces with Rey on her search for Luke Skywalker, and afterwards

when she rescues the last remaining members of the resistance.

And there you have it!

Ortega cree que la mano dura los desmovilizará, pero según pasa el tiempo las manifestantes crecen, probando el coraje de quien lucha por su libertad aunque sepa que hay orden de tirar a matar

 La comunidad internacional debe reaccionar si no quiere otro caso como Venezuela: la triste imposición por aplastamiento de un dictador cuya vesania termina por desmoralizar a una oposición abandonada a su suerte

Lo hemos visto tantas veces que sorprende que el comunismo tenga hoy un solo apóstol sobre la faz de la tierra
