The back stitch can be used as a decorative top stitch or to create a strong seam similar to the straight stitch on a sewing machine

If you want a straight line with even stitches draw a dotted line on the fabric with a disappearing marker

These stitches will be an eighth of an inch long but you can do shorter or longer stitches depending on the project

You can also make even marks on a piece of tape to ensure straight and even stitching

Knot the thread and insert the needle through the back of the fabric

Go back through the fabric from the front to create the first stitch

Bring the needle to the front again leaving a space the size of the next stitch

Go through the end of the last stitch and repeat the process

You can speed it up by bringing the needle in and out of the fabric in one motion

When you get to the end tie off the thread at the back

If you're sewing a seam iron it open

This back stitch is also used for embroidery and appliques

You can also leave a bit of space between stitches if you prefer that look for decorative stitching

Douk Douk Large vs Small Comparison Review - Duration: 7:09.

Sometimes it occurs to me that I was a little unfair to the Douk Douk in my original review.

As you know I accidentally bought the smaller Double Douk- when a larger almost the same

price one exists.

Let me amend that review and do a quick comparison video that's only slightly less unfair.

We'll call it milking the Douk Douk.

In order to not waste any more of your precious internet time let's look at the dimensions

of this two sans blue lines because in comparisons this how we do it.

The overall length and weight.

Both are very light weight knives- lighter than most modern social media tactical blades.

And very thin too . The lanyard loop is not included.

Blade size and cutting edge.

If you don't live in an area with judgy less tactical co workers or less tactical

knife laws go big.

Blade is made from a rust curious carbon steel.

Lube your suit curious knives to prevent rust.

Handle size and grip area.

Again loop isn't included.

A loop is a blank canvas for a social media paracord and bead masterpiece.

Spine thickness and handle thickness.

The handles while not thick are still pretty stout.

Ok are we at tallnesses.

The construction of these two knives is identical as are the charming old world back alley murder

aesthetics.

The blade on the larger Douk x2 gives you slightly less crowded uhh… vine artwork

and the full Made in France sentence where as it's just France on the smaller one.

Both have carbon steel blades, that rust and darken if you leave moisture unattended on

them for mere minutes.

Light coats of mineral oil or 3 in one oil help prevent corrosion.

And contrary to a non knife persons assertion that blades that rust suck- that's not true-

it just happens to be the properties of the steel.

More carbon content in the steel the more rust is generally the rule of thumb.

The handle between the two is just a simple piece of rigid folded steel.

There' isn't much flex to the steel.

The blade is a harder than average pull for a non locking slip joint.

It's a two stage motion grab with both fingers, pull stop and pull.

Close I like to hold the handle one stage move my fingers

then ease it close.

It's a two handed open and close.

Handle is ok comfortable… it's not sharp on the inside edges, but I have held more

comfortable knives.

Quick size comparison.

Large and small.

The large is preferable and more useful.

Both are stout rigid knives.

About as quote hard use as you can get in a non locking knife.

I prefer the handle grip and extra half an inch of the larger douk squared.

If you had to buy one or the other buy this one.

The loop on the back of the small one is slightly smaller.

These are dry condition knives, but you can use them in wet conditions if you mind sitting

moisture and bring your lube.

How about against the Spyderco Para Military 2.

This knife has a pocket clip, has a more corrosion resistant blade, costs about $140 and is an

easy one handed opening and closing- other than the price this is why I would chose this

knife to carry every day.

Opinel no 8.

It's wooden and probably less robust if you tend to treat your knives like shit.

If you're doing boring stuff not to worry.

Mercator.

This is a locking knife.

i like it.

You can get a pocket clip on it now for cheap right here in the US for about $30.

Carbon steel blade though.

Ok are we done?

Not if we haven't batoned!

I think that was a grave over sight on the original Douk video which you should watch

after this one because I'll link it at the end.

This is a pretty tough knife and it's a pretty reasonable $30.

iZCALLi – My Climb. My Music. - Duration: 2:57.

The band started in 2005, it was originally an acoustic trio.

The idea was just to you know, put our music out there.

I think, definitely my inspiration for creating music

is just, you know, that feeling that I get about

being able to encapsulate, a moment in time

for whatever it may be: a good feeling, a bad feeling

being able to share with people.

Music is the place where people can get lost

so, that they can experience themselves,

I think that's the big motivating factor.

"Esa Velocidad", is really inspired by you know, friends of mine

that, you know, go through different difficult things that

sometimes they tell me their stories and I'm sitting there listening to

what's the best way that I can help them to slow things down

the things come at you so quickly you don't know how to react

sometimes you feel like running away from things

you know, everybody can relate to that once in a while.

Being relevant I think that's one of the key things because I think we do have a

message to deliver, culturally speaking to both sides: English and in Spanish

and, bridging that gap between those cultures, I think it's part of what our music does

and we're so proud of that.

But this is the most integrated band in Denver

and that mountain is what gave us the opportunity to create that bridge

between cultures.

I think what keeps us hungry is just the energy that the crowd

continues to give us, when you have that exchange of energy that still continues

to happen I think you still on to something.

Partnering with the brands like Coors Light is,

definitely humbling for us, you know, it's such a it's a brand

that has a huge name definitely in Colorado.

Being from Colorado definitely gives us that, an added edge

you know, as metaphor you know the mountain we continue to climb

that we haven't reached the top and, hopefully we never will

just being able to continue to climb and that climb is I think the

satisfaction that we get.

What we're trying to do here is bridge cultures,

bring people together and,

have people enjoy music that's what it's about.

Why do you need a back-up clock?

If we don't get some sleep, we'll never win the race!

Well, if we don't wake up on time then we'll never make it to the race!

[whistling]

Perfect!

Two whole days with no...

Honeywell Smart Home Security System w/ Amazon Alexa | REVIEW - Duration: 9:20.

what's up guys i'm ben from authentech, and today we're checking out the

honeywell all-in-one smart home security system it's key features it has facial

recognition camera 24 hours of free cloud storage motion and window and door

sensors Amazon opens up and z-wave integration there's a lot to cover here

and some really cool features so let's jump right in now I received these

starter kit plus an indoor and outdoor motion camera and motion sensor huge

shout out to Honeywell for sponsoring this video

in the starter kit includes the camera base station a remote control key fob

and to access sensors for windows and doors

the base station specs a 2 megapixel 1080p HD camera with a hundred and forty

seven degree wide angle view night vision and motion detection now this

camera also packs inside a 5 watt omnidirectional speaker an LED ring 3

microphone arrays 85 decibel alarm and a two-way audio let's live authentic now

that loudspeaker isn't just for two-way talking but since this camera also acts

as a smart home hub you can talk to the built-in Amazon Alexa or Google

assistant which is coming soon this opens up a lot of functionality so we

could say turn on the lights or what's the weather outside it's 84 degrees

Fahrenheit with cloudy skies it's very cool and I'll cover more on that shortly

two other sweet features of this base station it also has a rechargeable

battery for backup power lasting around 30 minutes or so on reserve this is

perfect for when the power cuts in or out or let's say the alarm system is

going off and the intruder tries to unplug the base while the alarm will

continue to sound this is a great security feature secondly the base also

has that z-wave built in so you could control other smart home z-wave devices

through the base station now moving on to the motion sensor it's completely

Wire free and they say battery life can last up to three years being completely

wireless makes it a cinch for setup and install with easy it he

mounting strips already attached and lastly it's using smart infrared tech so

it should know the difference between a human or a pet or background motion like

fans and robot facts and last up are these video sensors which they call a

motion viewer the idea is clever and unique it's like a motion sensor

completely cordless Wire free battery-powered lasts up to two years

alerting you day or night on motion but it also has a camera built-in so when it

senses that motion you also get a 10 second video clip of what's going on

it's a very interesting idea they have two different models the white ones for

indoors that black one is for outdoors it's fully weatherproof nice and

discreet each motion viewer has night vision built-in and long-range detection

up to 33 feet and similar to that previous motion sensor it's also

pet-friendly as well so it shouldn't be alarmed by background motion setup an

install on this all-in-one security system is a cinch and I always

appreciate when it goes smoothly like this one did you download the app create

an account add new device plug in the camera

I like that pulsating LED ring at the base different colors indicating

different status connect it to your home Wi-Fi and that's about it during setup

you can turn on or off geofencing this basically Auto switches your security

system mode based upon your phone's location this is helpful this way you

don't have to manually arm or disarm your alarm every time you go in or out

with geofencing turned on it'll auto toggle it for you you can also turn on

Amazon sub allowing you to hear the news what's the news for today

here's your flash briefing check the weather you can look for thunderstorms

and even stream music which is expected to release later this year lastly you

can also turn on or off people recognition now it's currently only a

two-hour window but you set the time in the app and then it'll notify you when

the camera sees people you can also add familiar faces to help train the camera

to recognize family and friends it'd be nice if we could expand this time window

in the future as for hands-on testing here

so my favorite features I found first and importantly that HD camera has an

uber wide-angle lens squeezing a lot into frame match with

great dynamic range and night vision it all looks good there's a timeline of

activity feed in the app which is nice and convenient to scroll through the

latest events that took place you can view delete or download video

clips captured for free they give you 24 hours of cloud storage or you can

upgrade to a membership plan which offers you 30 days of video clips we can

turn on motion detection zones on the camera so that's to only get alerts and

notifications of motion that takes place inside those zones with customized

sensitivity I like the option to turn on email notifications and as a great bonus

there's a thumbnail preview image that's included in each email as well now a

small feature request when I slide down on my notification tray on my phone and

be really cool to see a motion thumbnail here as well small but nice feature the

base station also notifies you if it's been unplugged or moved I like you can

set the camera to auto turn off when you're in home or night mode plus we can

physically twist the cap to block the camera for full-on privacy now besides

Amazon Google and z-wave integration they even have if this than that

integration full functionality coming down the road there's a remote control

key fob for arming or disarming the alarm system and for many people out

there it's nice to have a tactile physical remote and a fun bonus feature

we can arm the system by our voice example ok security I'm leaving this is

perfect if your hands are full and you're running out the door it's easy to

quick shout out plus there's other voice commands as well now to cover a bit more

on these indoor and outdoor motion viewers the camera quality isn't great

and I can't pull up a live video feed of these motion cameras which I'm guessing

is purposeful to help maintain long battery life however the idea is still

clever you stick up or attach one or many of these little motion viewers in a

spare bedroom or around the front door garage patio backyard

ever and ill sense motion and then Auto send those video clips of what's moving

around right to your phone it's totally wireless setting these up with the base

station is a breeze you just pull the battery tab Auto find an ad and that's

it now one more cool thing these outdoor motion viewers offer is something they

call enhanced deterrents turn on the setting and you can have this speaker

play sounds when it detects a person the three options are pretty hilarious and

fun there's dog barking party is on and vacuum

I wish the speaker was a little louder with these sound effects but the sound

deterrence is still clever now on to my wishlist and feature request number one

I found their Android app to be a bit buggy and it crashed on me a few times

sometimes I was fast to load up the camera other times it seemed to get hung

up once when I was away from home the alarm accidently went off with my wife

at home pretty funny story she tried to unplug the base station to turn off the

alarm much to her surprise it still had that battery backup inside so it didn't

work meanwhile I'm on my phone trying to

quick jump into the app and disable that piercing loud alarm while the app is

crashing on me and it was a little frustrating though I finally got in and

turned it off it'll be really nice as they continue to develop this app and

squash some of these bugs number 2 the camera hub needs a simple way to tilt

this camera up or down just a wee bit for example this cameras up on my mantle

and there's a bit of wasted ceiling space in frame tilting it down would be

helpful and lastly number three I always request this one but it'd be really nice

to have a desktop or web app for remote camera viewing changing your settings

etc now in closing Honeywell is a big established name brand they've been

around in the tech game for a while this is a nice all-in-one starter kit think

of this base station not just as an indoor camera but as a central hub with

other Google a system music speaker z-wave smart home controller yet it's

modular security system so you can easily expand and add more windows and

door sensors motion cameras and more it's easy for anyone to set up and

install now if you want to check out more info and pricing I'll give you all

the links down in the video description again huge thanks to Honeywell for

sponsoring this video and if you're new around here hit subscribe and ring the

bell for more tech videos like this posted every week until next time let's

live off that tech

How to Hand Sew a Running Stitch - Duration: 1:33.

The running stitch is an easy hand sewing stitch that can be used in many projects

If you want straight and even stitching dot the fabric with a disappearing marker or mark a piece of tape

Knot the thread and start from the back of the fabric

Push the needle back through the fabric to create one stitch

Continue to weave in and out of the fabric

You can speed it up by doing multiple stitches at a time

You can also vary the stitch length and make the stitches different sizes on the front and back

When you get to the end tie off the thread at the back

The running stitch is often used for basting

This is a temporary stitch that is meant to hold the fabric together before the final stitching

Use large stitches that don't have to look neat because they'll be removed later

The running stitch can also be used to gather fabric

Make two rows of stitches and gathered by pulling the thread

The stitch length depends on how large you want the ruffles

A smaller running stitch can also be used for embroidery and appliques

Hot, hot.

Everything is here.

It's cosmetics.

It's Cartier.

I think it's cool.

There are cameras too.

What about this?

It's cool.

You don't mean it..

It's true!

It's true?

Is this real flower is true?

We're heading to the other market.

Do you want to have a hotteok?

I love hotteok,

Let's go inside.

I want to get this.

It's made of a mother-of-pearl, right?

so cool.

It's really delicate.

I want to get even that.

What's this for?

For Patbingsu (Red bean shaved ice dessert)

I came to school for my class.

Lunch with my friend.

It looks so pretty.

The weather was perfect.

So we had the dessert outside under the sun.

What is that face?

I was just fiming you prettily.

And the class time..

I went to the flower festival but

flowers already fell because it's too hot.

I met the turkey on my way.

It's released without any fence!

Go inside?

No, don't go!

I've never seen it before.

I also saw an elk but I couldn't film it.

I'm sad..I should've filmed it.

Our eyes met.

Hello guys. We're at Mangwon.

focus!

I can't see!

It's cool.

The space is interesting.

We have to be quiet inside the cafe.

I went to 'Asia Model Awards' with MinJ.

I was addicted to the song.

I like this song.

I like this song too.

After the show.

I should get a driver's license.

Let's get it in sumer.

but the summer has passed..

I will get it in summer.

I'll buy a car later.

I'll drive my mom's car.

She promised that she won't be concerned with it.

Even if you get into accident?

I think it means you should handle all of it.

I went to Dongdaemun to buy a fabric with my mom.

You can buy a fabric on the spot if it's rolled up.

My mom chose that,

It's the 1 yard.

There's a store for students.

'Students are greeted' is written.

Students can go there.

Mom want to make an apron.

On the way to Jeonju.

We went to the market.

The plum ade is good.

It sounds good.

Let's have both of them.

I got it on my white pants..

But I'll eat it.

On the way to Omokdae. The view is amazing.

Where are we?

We're just going to the top?

Is it Omokdae?

Are you sure?

He told us about the history of Jeinju.

Mom usually take weird photo of me.

Let's see.

The weather was so nice and the view was cool too.

We went there in the evening but it was closed.

Lastly, I had a the octopus skewers.

The Messenger - REVIEW (Nintendo Switch) - Duration: 8:27.

In a gaming space that's becoming increasingly crowded with

intentionally retro-styled 2D platformers, Sabotage Studio's The

Messenger is daring to do things a little differently.

Instead of taking its inspiration from Mega Man, Super

Mario Bros., DuckTales, and/or Castlevania like so many

others have, The Messenger instead presents itself as a callback

to Tecmo's original Ninja Gaiden trilogy for the NES.

That would be a unique enough approach on its own, but The

Messenger brings one other well-publicized gimmick to the table

as well: a time-warping mechanic that allows you to travel between

the 8-bit world you start out in and a SEGA Genesis-styled 16-bit

world in order to open new paths forward and progress through

the game.

But are these factors enough to make The Messenger stand out from the crowd?

The Messenger wastes no time dropping you right into the action

with a brief cutscene introducing you to the game's hero, a

nameless young ninja living in a small village housing what

remains of the human race.

It turns out an army of demons has already wiped out most of humanity, and legend

says the demon army is bound to strike again and finish the

job.

And strike again it does, with our ninja protagonist's village going

up in flames as the Demon King and his minions launch their

assault ahead of schedule.

The fledgling ninja is then trusted with an important task: to carry a scroll vital

to his clan's survival across the land and deliver it to the peak

of the highest mountain.

From there it's up to you to guide our unlikely hero to his

destination as you run, jump, wall climb, and slash your way

across the land.

As you progress you'll pick up some new equipment granting you additional methods

of traversal, such as a Wingsuit that gives you a little more air

time and lets you glide over chasms and into updrafts, as well as

a Rope Dart that functions much like a Zelda game's Hookshot

and pulls you toward whatever surface it makes contact with.

There's also the Cloudstep, a key gameplay mechanic introduced

in the game's opening moments that combines traversal with

combat in a smart, elegant way.

Essentially, whenever you strike an enemy or background object with your sword

while airborne, you gain an additional jump, and this quickly

becomes required in order to make it across large chasms and other

such environmental hazards.

As you might imagine, The Messenger wastes little time in coming

up with devious ways to test your Cloudstepping skills, combining

white-knuckle platforming over spikes and bottomless pits with

light environmental puzzle-solving as you plan your Cloudstepping

while considering the placement of the enemies and strikable

background objects around you.

Fortunately the game's controls are mostly up to the task, proving

slick and responsive whether you're playing in TV or handheld

mode.

Being a 2D platformer, playing with the Switch Pro

Controller or anything else equipped with a D-pad is naturally

going to be your best bet here, but playing with the Joy-Con L's

control stick works well enough too if such is your only option.

I do wish the buttons could be remapped to make certain

combinations of actions easier on the hands, as there are

challenging Cloudstepping sequences later in the game that

require some real finger gymnastics to get through, and this

could've been alleviated with some simple custom control options.

That minor control quibble aside, The Messenger just feels good to

play in general, and making your way through the various stages

and overcoming their myriad platforming challenges is both

rewarding and a great deal of fun.

Boss fights are another real highlight, often incorporating Cloudstepping

while testing your ability to suss out patterns and react to

them appropriately — but never feeling overly difficult or unfair.

If you think all of this sounds like it makes for a strong action

platformer, you'd be right.

And if that was the only role The Messenger was concerned with playing, this

could've been a very open-and-shut review with praise to spare.

Unfortunately, once you reach a certain point later in the game

The Messenger suddenly puts the brakes on its otherwise

brisk pacing and decides it wants to be an open-ended, exploratory

Metroid-style

platformer instead, and this is where the warts begin to show.

Following this change in focus, you'll suddenly find yourself

returning to all the levels you just completed in order to find and

explore new areas within them, the purpose of this endeavor being

to gather collectibles that are necessary in order to unlock the

path to the endgame.

And this in itself wouldn't be so bad, except that it quickly becomes apparent that as an

action platformer, these levels were not designed to be traversed

multiple times forward and backward.

And you will be traversing them many, many times, because the

amount of backtracking this part of the game requires borders on

absurd.

So not only are The Messenger's levels a lot more fun to

barrel through as an action platformer than they are to explore in a

slower-paced Metroid-style adventure to begin with, you'll be

revisiting them all several times as you make your way to various

destinations that are often just far enough from any fast travel

point that it feels like a real chore to get there.

After all, you've already seen and done everything on the way —

oftentimes more than once.

Indeed, The Messenger's poor excuse for a fast travel system does very little

to alleviate the amount of backtracking associated with the back half

of the game, with nothing meaningful to differentiate repeated

runs through levels or sections of a level.

There is an upgrade tree you're constantly collecting currency to

buy power-ups from, which does help make all the backtracking

feel slightly less meaningless as your ninja continues to power up,

and all this covering old ground does eventually lead to another

handful of brand-new areas to explore.

But that still doesn't take the sting out of all the backtracking and

level re-runs required to get there, only adding to the feeling that

The Messenger would have been better off as a pure action platformer

without the shoehorning-in of slower-paced, Metroid-style

exploratory elements.

It's also a shame that this change in overall focus comes hand-in-

hand with the introduction of The Messenger's widely publicized

time travel mechanic, which changes the game's aesthetics

between 8-bit and 16-bit on the fly.

This is a legitimately cool gimmick whose luster never quite wears off,

but whose impact is lessened considerably thanks to the myriad

frustrations introduced alongside the game's stark change

in pacing coming from the first half of the game.

Touching on those frustrations a bit further, while The Messenger

wisely eschews a lives-based system in favor of simply kicking

you back to a checkpoint whenever you die, those checkpoints are

sometimes spaced far enough apart that an accidental death can

feel more frustrating than it needs to due to all the ground you

have to cover to get back to where you were — ground you've

likely already covered before, to boot.

But no matter how many times you have to trek through an area, at

least you'll thoroughly enjoy all the sights and sounds every single

time.

Sabotage Studio really went the extra mile in terms of making

both the 8-bit and 16-bit sides of The Messenger true to their

respective eras, with the latter being especially memorable in

terms of how specifically evocative it is of the SEGA Genesis style

of 16-bit gaming.

This is especially true of the soundtrack, which transitions

seamlessly between NES-style and Genesis-style versions of the

same songs as you phase between the two time periods.

The game's composer Eric Brown, also known as

Rainbowdragoneyes, deserves special mention for expertly crafting

these two very distinct versions of the game's soundtrack,

both of which go a long way toward conveying the overall vibe

of their respective era.

And the visuals are no slouch either.

The retro-styled graphics look great whether you're playing on a TV

or on the Switch's screen in handheld mode, and the action all

takes place at a consistently smooth 60 frames per second.

There was an issue present in the review build where the frame

rate would sometimes drop below 60 fps after four hours or more

of continuous play, and while I did encounter this bug I've been

assured that it's been fixed for the retail build of the game.

It's also worth noting that The Messenger lays claim to some

genuinely inspired writing and characterization that caused me to

chuckle and even laugh out loud more than once.

The story and overall writing are somewhat reminiscent of

Shovel Knight in the way the game doesn't take itself too seriously

but still manages to tell an engaging story with emotionally resonant

moments.

There's also a veritable slew of references and Easter

eggs to uncover in the dialogue, which is a ton of fun for players

like myself who enjoy those kinds of details.

Significant though The Messenger's problems in pacing and focus

are, especially after the excellent first half of the game, they don't

bring the game down so much that it isn't worth playing.

Quite the contrary, I LIKE The Messenger and don't

regret the time I've spent with the game, which clocks in at a surprising

20-ish hours for a first playthrough and ensures that you're

getting good bang for your buck.

And if you want to find and destroy the 50 optional

Power Seals that stand between you and the game's true ending,

you can expect to add a good five to 10 hours on top of that.

The issue is simply that The Messenger is a good 20 hour game

when it could've been a great 10-hour game.

Had Sabotage Studio remained focused on keeping The Messenger

squarely within the action platformer genre, a tighter, more streamlined

experience playing entirely to the game's strengths

could have been the result.

But the introduction of Metroid-style open-ended exploration

alongside the gimmick of shifting between the 8-bit and 16-bit eras

hurts the game's pacing and puts the focus on backtracking and

other slower-paced exploratory elements rather than where it

should've remained, which is the game's strong, Ninja Gaiden-

style action platforming.

But neither can the strength of that core

gameplay be denied, cementing The Messenger as a good game

that, despite its faults, is worth playing for fans of the genre — but

nothing more.
