Historically in my life, I have noticed that when it looked the furthest away, and the
least possible and there was a greatest adversity that was the very moment that God got ready
to bless me, it's not when it looks like it's gonna happen, it's when it looks like there's
no way in the world that it can happen that God does it.
For instance I could see how God could merge these two cultures between the Israelites
and the Egyptians when Joseph was alive.
After all Joseph was favored by the Egyptians, he was preferred by the Pharaoh, he had risen
to power, he had solved the famine issue,
he was responsible for the growth, the national growth of the Egyptian people.
Had it not been for Joseph, keep that in the back of your mind, had not been for Joseph,
Egypt would have gone bankrupt in the famine and died, but because of a strategy that Joseph
gave the nation they were able to persevere so that the gross national economy was dependent
and predicated
upon that that the man of God had done.
Isn't that funny?
How you can go from an inmate someday, to a position of power the next day.
You, you can't let where you start define where you're going.
Joseph ended up in a position of power.
But there's something that you have to understand about blessing people, when you bless people
they have a short memory.
You have to understand that if you're gonna be philanthropic, people are grateful for
about 24 hours and then after that they forget you the moment you stop doing exactly what
they want you to do, you could have done it five times before,
but the very time you have to say no they it's like amnesia comes on it's like a narcotic
gets out of it's like they have Alzheimer's, they forget all that, the Bible said that
they did good until there was a pharaoh who rose up, who did not know Joseph nor his God.
And all of a sudden they forgot everything that Joseph had done and all of a sudden the
children of Israel have become slaves.
And that doesn't look like greatness, and they're being beaten and they're being raped,
and they're being abused, and that doesn't look like greatness.
And now a person has been positioned into power who has no respect for their culture,
for their people or their God.
They couldn't have been farther away from becoming
what God had promised them to become.
And in fact the Bible says, that the Egyptians who had enslaved Hebrews, are now afraid of
their own slaves.
And yet God allowed them to go through this crazy situation, because in the middle of
their affliction, the more the children of Egypt afflicted them, the more the children
of Israel grew.
Now the only people I have to preach this to, is people who have not been afflicted.
Because if you have never been afflicted in any way, you already understand that there's
some crazy principle that operates that when life gets hard and tough and you feel like
you're at the breaking point, and you're all bent over and you're about to die,
there's something about being at that point that instead of going under you go over, instead
of going weaker, you get stronger.
Instead of fainting you start fighting, instead of giving up, you start going forward.
My God, my God, my God, never fight anybody who's been through hell and high, because
it make them tough and it makes them tenacious.
it makes them radical, are there any radical people in this place this morning?
make some noise.
How do you know you're going well?
When the thing that used to bother me, doesn't bother me anymore.
And the thing that used to throw me, doesn't throw me anymore.
That means I'm growing.
Touch somebody and tell them I'm growing, I'm growing.
The more they afflicted them, the more they grew, the more they... there's a direct association
between progress and affliction.
Yeah I don't know why God didn't just let you swim swim with the current.
Now you've always got your swimming upstream against the current, maybe it's because it
makes you tougher, and it makes you stronger.
I don't know why He makes you wait on stuff that He's gonna give you anyway.
Why don't you just give it to me?
Maybe it's resistance training, that the more I have resisted, the tougher I become.
Maybe it's not about what I get, but what I learned while I'm waiting on what I get.
Oh my God, somebody better come get me, cuz I'm about to start.
Yeah yeah yeah the more they afflicted them, the more they grew.
And they started growing and growing and growing, you get muscles by resistance, you get tough
by resistance,
you'll find out you don't have to have everybody that you thought you had to have by resistance.
When people betray you, and you get there anyway, when they deny you, and you get there
anyway.
You have to conclude, well it's not by might nor by power, it's by my spirit says the LORD.
Somebody who got there anyway, give God a praise in this place.
Well, what they meant, what they designed, to oppress the people, empowered the people.
Somebody say it's all good.
So instead of getting lesser, they were increasing and becoming stronger.
The more they afflicted them, the more they grew.
So since that didn't work, this is why you go from one test to another.
When you pass a test, the sign of passing the test, is facing another test.
Because when you face another test, it is a sign that your adversary is running out
of tricks.
He says since that didn't work, I'm gonna try something else on you.
So he made a deal with the midwives, and said to the midwives, okay afflicting them ain't
working.
See because, here's the problem, when we pressured them on the outside, they huddled together
on the inside.
The more pressure mounts externally, the more they draw strength from each other.
Which made them intimate, which made them pregnant.
Which made children's church grow, because when things are tough on the outside, you
automatically run to where it is not tough to receive strength.
It'll make you connect on another level.
They didn't get it.
External pressure increases internal strength.
So when God gets ready to build you up, He allows things to happen on the outside, so
that you can rely on the strength on the inside.
And you start getting strong because you don't need outside help anymore.
People say you're acting funny but you're not acting funny, you are just getting to
the place that the things that you used to need,
you don't have to help me I'm not looking for somebody to carry me, I'll carry myself.
If I made it through January, I could make through February.
I've made it to March, I can make it through April.
If made it to April, I can make it to May.
And if you don't come by June, I ain't think about you in July,
because the same God that brought me through back then...

Seoul plans to raise annual budget on inter-Korean economic cooperation by nearly 50% - Duration: 2:01.
The unification ministry also unveiled its budget plan for next year.
Less will be set aside for humanitrian aid, while spending for inter-Korean economic cooperation
is raised by almost 50 percent... reflecting the willingness to view Pyongyang as an economic
partner rather than an aid beneficiary.
Oh Jung-hee explains further.
South Korea plans to spend more next year on inter-Korean cooperation... in an effort
to boost exchanges with North Korea... as agreed at their historic summit in April.
On Tuesday, Seoul's unification ministry revealed its spending blueprint for 2019.
The budget for the Inter-Korean Cooperation Fund rose by 14 percent from this year,...
to stand at 1-point-1 trillion won, or roughly 1 billion U.S. dollars.
And among various categories within the fund, Seoul plans to give the biggest boost to economic
cooperation -- at over 46-percent.
Seoul will be putting more into grants and loans for economic projects,... mainly related
to railway and road connections... and forestation.
The numbers are subject to change as discussions continue with North Korea on these projects,...
but regardless, the government says the projects will be carried out in a way that does not
violate international sanctions... and in step with North Korea's denuclearization.
South Korea has also raised its budget for families separated by the Korean War... by
nearly threefold.
That... considering Seoul and Pyongyang could hold more family reunions next year and even
enable the families to visit their hometowns on the other side of the border.
Meanwhile, Seoul is cutting down on funds for humanitarian aid... and plans to reduce
its food assistance for North Korea to a third of the current figure.
South Korea says it now sees North Korea as an economic partner to work with... rather
than a subject to help.

Gov't ban has significantly reduced use of plastic cups - Duration: 0:38.
About a month ago, the Korean government banned the use of disposable cups in coffee shops
and fast food restaurants.
And it appears the use of plastic items was drastically reduced.
A civic group named Korea Zero Waste Movement Network did on-site inspections of about a
thousand cafes and fast food chains last Wednesday and Thursday.
It said sixty percent of stores did not use plastic cups at all.
Before the government ban, that figure stood under thirty percent.
Plus, of all the cups used in the those establishments, eighty-one percent were non-plastic.
The group attributed the result to cooperation from consumers and the industry.

For 14th straight year, Japan repeats false claim to S. Korea's Dokdo Island - Duration: 0:51.
Japan once again makes false claims to South Korea's Dokdo island.
The cabinet has adopted its annual defense white paper which states Tokyo has unresolved
territorial issues involving the what it calls "Northern Territories"... and Korea's easternmost
islets which it named Takeshima.
Japan has been making the misguided claim in such a manner since 2005.
Seoul's foreign and defense ministries strongly appealed against the statement and urged the
neighboring country to immediately correct the phrase and stop such distortions.
The foreign ministry also called in the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Japanese Embassy,
Koichi Mizushima, to lodge a formal complaint.
As for North Korea and its nuclear program, the white paper said Japan's view has not
changed despite the Pyongyang-Washington summit, that it still views the regime's military
moves as a threat to Tokyo and the international community.

S. Korean gov't plans to spend more than $42 bil. on national defense in year 2019 - Duration: 2:01.
Staying with spending plans for next year.
A significant portion of the budget will be injected to the military.
It's marks this decade's biggest spike in the amount allocated for national defense.
Park Ji-won outlines what positive changes the funding will bring.
The Moon Jae-in administration has decided to allocate about 42 billion U.S. dollars
next year on the nation's defense budget.
It is a whopping eight-point-two percent increase from the previous year.
This marks the highest increase rate on the nation's defense budget since 2008,... and
almost the double of the average annual increase rate of four-point-four percent seen from
2010 to 2017.
The government expects to spend over 13 percent more than the previous year on developing
and improving defense capabilities,... such as the acquisition of state-of-the-art weaponry
like aircraft, and naval destroyers.
Included in this category are some four-point-five billion U.S. dollars the government expects
to spend on establishing its so-called "three-axis system,"...or the South's key three-part military
strategy system to counter any North Korean threats,... namely the Kill Chain pre-emptive
strike system, the Korean Air and Missile Defense system,... and the Korea Massive Punishment
and Retaliation strategy.
A defense ministry official told Arirang News that next year's budget for the establishment
of the three-axis system has also increased by more than 16-point-four percent, year-on-year.
The defense ministry explains that the increase on defense budget has been outlined to support
the Moon administration's defense reform initiative,... which aims to modernize and strengthen the
nation's military capabilities,... with active investment in the latest technologies.
The budget plan will be submitted to the National Assembly this Friday for parliamentary deliberation.
