THE CREATORS VLOG #1: How to Join Area, Contests, 1k subs special, New member. - Duration: 8:01.

What is up everybody and welcome to the first ever V-LOG of AreaCreators.

I am Mr. Invincible, and I am a collaborator and director.

We are doing this V-LOG because we wanted to update you guys about what has been going

on in our community recently, and we want to announce upcoming projects and include

other things you guys might be interested about.

For those who are new to this channel and for those who don't really know what Area

is about, Area is basically a community group, consisting of content creators, of which the

majority edits videos for his own channel and for the team channel of course, but we

also have a small part of the group who does other things, we have got a web designer,

and we've also got two motion designers.

So, let's move on to the actual V-LOG.

We're going to talk about: our name change, from AreaTO to AreaCreators.

We're also announcing the Duel Series; we're announcing our new member; the upcoming 1K

sub special; a brief overview of what videos we uploaded last month; you will also be able

to feature your own video on this channel; and, your chance to join Area.

So, let's get straight into it.

We decided to change our name from AreaTO to AreaCreators, because we want the name

just to be us.

We don't want to be dependent of a game like Tanki Online.

We want to build our own brand, and expand to other types of content.

Then, a big project is coming up: the Area Duel Series will be a series where Area members

and selected applicants will have to compete against each other.

A maximum of ten people can take part in this contest.

Every month, we will choose two members, and the edits they post will be automatically

included for the contest.

Let's move on.

I'm glad to announce that we have recruited a new member from last month.

His name is JOHNCOOL1, and he's a new editor of Area, and we will work with him on new

projects.

He even has an upcoming project with Infect and me.

Stay tuned!

Then, another exiiiting happening coming up!

The 1.000 sub special of Area.

The special will include a space montage called "MOONWALKERS", which will be edited by Jade.

Stay tuned!

Talking about upcoming projects, as you all know, Tanki's birthday celebrations were in

the game a few days ago.

We'll also make a team montage about that.

Now, a brief overview of what videos we uploaded last month.

On the 1st of May, we uploaded a Tanki Online montage with epic Magnum OMP.

This was edited by Ray.

Check it out!

A few days later, Jade came up with an epic edit.

His space themed "PRISONERS" is definitely worth a watch.

Check it out!

Then, a few days later, Infect made his debute.

Check his video out.

Then, our motion designer Madcsi made the edit "FLARE".

He's not familiar with editing, but his edit is just amazing.

Check it out.

Then, we uploaded Skill_PavlItos's "WINTER MODE EDIT".

Check his vdeo out too!

A few days later, "FAITH" was uploaded, made by OPTIC.

It's a very relaxing edit, so definitely check this out after you've had a long day.

After that, our new member made his debute on this channel with his edit "PRIME".

Welcome him to the team, and check his edit out.

Then, the entry of Moke for the T3C 100K editing contest.

This guy is just sick with editing with Sony Vegas.

Check him out.

And as the last video of this month, we uploaded the Space OMP edit of Ares.

It's an exclusive edit, so it's only available on our team channel.

Check it out!

So, that were the videos from last month.

This month, there are craaazy videos coming.

Stay tuned!

Now we've talked about our videos, let's move on to YOUR videos.

We will be able to feature one of your videos on our channel.

What you need to do is just make an edit, upload it in your channel, name it what ever

you want, BUT, make sure you include '#AreaCreate' in your title.

At the front, at the back, doesn't matter.

Also, it's quite different with the Video Of The Week of Tanki Online.

You won't need to wear a special paint or a special equipment, you just need to show

your edit skills and, we'll look at it!

Submit your videos through the form where we leave the link in the description.

Now, I have an important announcement for those who aren't that great with editing,

but have a decent PC, and can record decently.

If you want to be part of this, you can actually join us as a Player.

A Player is someone who is skilled at the game, on a certain level of course, does collaborations

and and records stock footage for editors, this will give editors more time to spend

on their projects, and we can get them done sooner.

If you're interested, be sure to join our Discord server, where you can introduce yourself

to us.

I hope we get some response from you.

Now, we want to put someone special in the spotlight, because, the comment section is

a very important parameter to us.

We check the comments and they keep us motivated.

We'd like to put 'Szezzer' in the spotlight.

He said we deserve 50K subscribers.

Thank you for that, and that really means a lot to us.

So, 'Szezzer', if you see this, keep it up, keep commenting; it keeps us going.

Thank you!

And guys, this goes for all of you, keep giving us feedback so we can improve our edits and,

keep up the incredible support.

So, I think that's it for this episode.

Be sure to check out our social media, such as our Discord, the link is in the description,

as well as our Twitter page, and our Facebook page.

Also, be sure to check us out on the Tanki Online Forum, we have a Videomaker section

there.

If you have time, you can also check my own channel, Mr.Invincible.

Stay connected with us!

ENSALADAS VERDES | Verduras de Hoja Verde - Duration: 10:17.

Should we start?? Are you ready??

Yes, we can start.

Ok, let's start!

Hi my dear friends, welcome. This is a complete video about the green leafy vegetables,

its properties, how to make salads, why we need to eat more food that contains minerals,

why minerals are important in our lives,

and why we need to eat less animal's proteins.

Watch out, you don't need to be vegan, that is for crazy people!

Are you in need of minerals, vitamins or fiber?

Yes, I'm in need of iron and calcium, that's why I eat cow milk, because the doctor said so.

and to get protein and calcium.

If you are in need of some minerals or proteins, you can solve this problem taking some food supplements,

spending lots of money and collaborating with this business.

Or you can take two of the tips I'm going to give you today.

Two green tips.

Ok, we are now ready to give tips and to make bad jokes...

Ah! I forgot to tell you, I'm Mariano and this is MacrobioticaZen.

In vegetables and fruits we can find lots of minerals, vitamins and fibers.

and they are really important nutrients for our health.

For example, we can find iron, magnesium, zinc, calcium...

and we can also find fiber, that it is really important to go regularly to the toilet.

Leave there nice presents with lots of joy!

Note: Oats are really good to avoid constipation too, like all the whole grain cereals.

Watch this video, about oat, that you'll like a lot.

So, my first tip is that you eat more vegetables and a little bit of fruits,

because, they will give you all these elements: minerals, vitamins, fibers...

that are really important for your health. Soon I will show you which vegetables are the most recommended.

but, first I'll give you my second advice.

We are always going to try to have a good amount of mineral reserves in our body, because they are important.

and how do we get that?? Eating lots of vegetables and fruits that contain minerals,

so we get more minerals in our body.

but also, and this is the second tip,

It is trying to avoid those foods that are known as "minerals thieves",

We are now starting to talk about weird things, now he is going to tell us to close properly our house door,

because of the thieves?? "Mineral thieves"??

All the foods that contain lots of proteins or lots of sugars, they are really acidifying

It doesn't mean that they are bad, but if we eat them regularly or in big amounts,

they are going to acidify us.

In this story, there is one problem.

What your body is going to do in order to survive,

it is taking calcium from your bones,

decalcify you, and put that calcium in your blood to counteract the acidity of the foods.

That's why people with bone problems, or osteoporosis, are usually great dairy consumers.

To be honest, I don't understand a thing! The doctor says the opposite, how this can be possible??

Someone is wrong in this story...

I will make a video about Alkalinity and acidity and I'll explain more about this.

But now, let's focus in the green leafy veggies.

Try to eat the vegetables that grow in the place you live and in the moment when they are growing,

because it is a way to respect the cycles.

This is a turnip, I mean this one, and these are its leaves.

I also have a leaf of kale.

One food that is really good for your health, that is broccoli.

You can also eat the leaves of the carrots.

also the stinging nettle,

other vegetables that are good are: spinach, chard and the beet's leaves.

But these three have a high oxalate content and should be eaten a little,

And eat them just in season but, not eat these green vegetables a lot.

Benefits of green leaves.

They have great amounts of calcium.

Lots of calcium. The kale has even more calcium than the cow milk.

Lots of iron.

They clean our body from toxins.

They are good to make our kidneys stronger.

They clean our blood.

They have antioxidants.

They have omega 3 fats.

If you have weight problems,

I recommend you to eat vegetables, because of the fiber and because they have low calories.

and because they have lots of minerals

and if you know someone with diabetes problems,

these green leafy vegetables are really good for diabetics.

Anyway, I would like to say that don't get obsess with the vegetables now.

Nowadays there is a trend about green detox juices,

everyday during the whole year,

and I think we shouldn't be obsessed, for me, the main ingredient in our dishes,

should be the whole grain cereals; rice, millet, quinoa, buckwheat...

and vegetables are in a second position,

in the third position would be the proteins, like chickpeas, lentils... any legumes.

nuts, fish or meat if you are not vegetarian.

I recommend you fish, above all.

I think he is giving us lots of information, I have a phobia about green vegetables.

I'm going out to eat an ice cream with a fried egg.

raw or cooked?

There are lots of ways to eat vegetables and it depends a lot on the person.

It is hard to say if you should eat them cooked or raw, it depends on lots of factors,

I think you should just listen to your body.

In summer, probably, you want to eat them raw.

And in winter, it is probably that your body, and following the traditional way,

you will eat them cooked.

Talking about the salads, Any salad that contains these leaves, is going to be good.

Mostly in Spring and Summer. They cool us, so it will be good to eat them in Spring and Summer,

in your salads,

and hope this helps you a lot.

I like a lot when you comment in my channel or in facebook, so

don't be shy and ask, give me your opinions, some information that I might miss in this video,

or some opinions against what I'm saying, I like a lot when I get your comments.

And also, subscribe, so you won't miss anything.

It is really easy, you need to press this button that is in this corner.

Subscribe, if you are not subscribe yet.

So you won't miss any content.

There is a bell.

If you click on that bell, you will get an email any time when I post a video.

All of these videos, I make them just for you and people that wants to get a healthier life.

and that want to improve their lives.

I like a lot making them. If you like them too, please, share them in Twitter, in Facebook.

Help me to spread the word, to get new people to know about this new information.

Share it, it is the best way to help me.

and to help others. If there are people in need of minerals, and they watch this video,

You can improve their lives. It is incredible, but is true!

I experienced it, and that's why I made this video, to share it and spread it.

around the world.

Ok, cut it, Mariano... let's get to the end!

So, tomorrow at your work, tell everybody about this video.

Share your food, and show everybody that you do eat green leafy veggies!

Give an example, and tell them why you eat them! Be proud of your self!

They are delicious.

They are delicious.

Try it, try it.. your life will change!!!

Bizarre Things That Happened On The Set Of The Wizard Of Oz - Duration: 6:56.

Flying murder monkeys, angry trees, witches, wizards, and using the death of a dog as leverage

against a young farmgirl.

The Wizard of Oz is a classic and one that doesn't get any less nightmarish with age.

Since the movie was filmed way before concepts like workplace safety and sobriety were invented,

a lot of strange things went on during filming.

People got hurt.

Movie history was made.

Worth it?

Maybe!

Let's see!

One small voice

One of the tough things about The Wizard of Oz is separating fact from fiction, especially

when it comes to long-standing rumors about the film's massive mob of Munchkins.

According to the Munchkins themselves, there was no drunken carousing, no orgies, and no

need for them to be picked up with butterfly nets for shooting the next morning.

In fact, the stories make them sad, so cut it out.

The core group of Munchkins was made up of a troupe of European vaudeville actors called

the Singer Midgets, but Munchkin Mickey Carroll was born in St. Louis.

That meant he had something big going for him: he could speak English.

When it came time for filming, they needed people who could deliver what would become

some pretty iconic lines.

Carroll performed those lines, along with Munchkin coroner Meinhardt Raabe.

It was Carroll who provided voices for the Lollipop Guild and even said the iconic "Follow

the yellow brick road."

By the end of filming, he'd spent three weeks doing voice-over work, including Auntie Em's

panicked shouts when the tornado hits, when she couldn't yell loud enough.

"Dorothy!"

Carroll was one of the last surviving munchkins, dying in 2009 at 89 years old.

We hope he found his own happiness at the end of the rainbow.

The wizard of booze

Actor Frank Morgan played five different roles in Oz: Professor Marvel, the crying gatekeeper,

the driver behind the Horse of a Different Color, the Wizard's guard, and the Wizard

of Oz himself.

But it wasn't just acting chops that got him through such an arduous schedule.

The first day Morgan showed up on set, he had a briefcase, but carrying things like

papers and scripts was for amateurs.

His briefcase had a minibar in it.

Ray Bolger, who played the Scarecrow, said,

"No matter how many times he retreated to the black briefcase, he was never less than

a gentleman, although when he tried to stop drinking, he was often short-tempered and

irritable."

According to his wardrobe man, Morgan's drink of choice was champagne, and there was at

least one incident where director Victor Fleming confronted Morgan and told him to drink more

so he was tolerable on set.

"Silence!"

"Oh!

Jiminy crickets!"

Ah, the good old days.

King of the forest

If you always thought that the Cowardly Lion's costume looked incredibly realistic, that's

because, well, it was made from real lions.

The idea had been to make a couple of costumes so actor Burt Lahr would be able to swap them

out during filming.

But the unique patterns of the real lion hides made that impossible, since every costume

would look different.

Lahr ended up with one single costume that weighed about 60 pounds, which quickly filled

with sweat under the hot studio lights.

It became such a problem that the filmmakers needed to make a special purchase: an industrial

drying bin to help get the costume a little less wet for the next day.

Not included: Febreeze.

At least stunt doubles and stand-ins got to share a different sticky costume, which was

close enough to the original to stand in during far-away shots.

After filming, the costume was largely forgotten until it was rediscovered for a 1970 auction,

where it sold for $2,400.

It was later restored and went on to sell for $3.1 million, sweat included.

Wardrobe malfunctions

Jack Haley made the Tin Man everything we all know and love, but a weird series of events

put him there.

The original cast list featured Buddy Ebsen as the Scarecrow and Ray Bolger as the Tin

Man, but that's obviously not how things turned out.

The story goes that Bolger wanted to be the Scarecrow, since he was a dancer, and didn't

want to be trapped inside a tin suit.

He went to MGM honcho Mervyn LeRoy said he'd been cast in the wrong role.

They allowed Ebsen and Bolger to swap roles, and some of the movie was even filmed before

Ebsen was sent to the hospital with a major allergic reaction to the aluminum dust that

he was painted with.

According to Ebsen, no one believed he was sick, and he was ordered back to the set.

That is until, thankfully, medical personnel got involved.

Ebsen would go on to complain of breathing problems for the rest of his life — and

he didn't even get to be in the movie.

Jack Haley was hired, and the studio switched to using aluminum paste rather than dust.

And that quickly gave Haley a severe eye infection, so filming was delayed again.

Burn the witch

Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch, was the type to suffer for her craft.

And while there were a whole bunch of accidents during filming that would have today's stars

calling their lawyers, her on-set mishap ranks right at the top.

[Screams]

The first take of the Witch leaving Munchkinland went perfectly, but director Victor Fleming

wanted another take, just in case.

During take two, Hamilton's hat and coat caught on fire, burning layers of skin off her face

and hands.

That's pretty bad, right?

Well, it gets worse.

The only way to get the green paint off her burned skin was with alcohol.

She left the set for six weeks and returned before she had completely healed.

Since they couldn't re-apply the green paint, she wore gloves for the rest of filming.

Not surprisingly, she had lost a bit of faith in the special effects department and refused

to do any more fire-related scenes.

They still had that famous skywriting sequence to film, and that required an actress who

was willing to sit on a prop broomstick that spewed smoke.

Long story short, it was a pipe, it was filled with fire, and it exploded.

Hamilton's stunt double, Betty Danko, was hospitalized for 11 days.

Presumably she never worked with fire again either.

There was a huge amount of asbestos on set

It's obvious that back in the good ol' days, when doctors prescribed cocaine and cigarettes

to cure whatever ailed you, we didn't always know what we were doing when it came to science

and human bodies.

Which is why pure, uncut asbestos was used in just about everything, including the scene

in The Wizard of Oz where's Dorothy's gang falls asleep in the field and snow begins

to fall.

Obviously, that's not snow that's falling on them, but the choice of asbestos was perhaps

shortsighted.

The film's stars were all covered with asbestos fibers, and at the time, it wasn't that odd.

Asbestos was often used to simulate fake snow, even in department stores.

Do you know what else contained asbestos?

Everything that needed to be fireproofed, including the Wicked Witch's broom, and part

of the Scarecrow's costume.

That's right, Ray Bolger was dancing around in asbestos, under falling asbestos, not even

knowing he was giving cancer the big ol' middle finger… until his death from cancer in 1987.

The $80,000 jitterbug

By the end of filming, MGM decided that The Wizard of Oz was about 20 minutes too long.

The first thing that got the axe was a scene that had taken an entire five weeks to film

and cost a mind-blowing $80,000, or $1.4 million bucks in today's money.

The premise was pretty simple: the Wicked Witch sends a swarm of bugs, which were known

for giving their victims the "jitters," to distract Dorothy's group while her henchmen

swooped in.

But really, it played like an excuse to do a contemporary dance number in the middle

of the Haunted Forest.

Which was still a lot nicer than the Wicked Witch from L. Frank Baum's novels, who sent

out killer bees to sting the party to death instead.

There was more to the whole jitterbug plot, but with bits and pieces of story falling

off the original script, only one portion of it remained in the final film.

Too bad it made no sense without the whole dancing scene.

"They'll give you no trouble, I promise you that.

I've sent a little insect on ahead to take the fight out of them."

The whole out-of-place reference to a modern dance fad was way too odd to keep.

And that's saying something for a movie that starred a robot and a living bunch of hay.

The Stunning Transformation Of Gal Gadot - Duration: 5:11.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably know that 2017's Wonder Woman movie

has taken the world by storm.

Finally, we have a female superhero in her own successful film.

While audiences might now be familiar with star Gal Gadot, they may not realize how incredibly

interesting her life has been.

Here are a few things from her life that prove Gadot is a lot more than just a pretty face.

Israeli roots

Gal Gadot was born in Rosh HaAyin, Israel on April 30th, 1985.

Her mother worked as a teacher, her father was an engineer, and her grandparents were

survivors of the Holocaust.

Athletically-inclined as a child, Gadot played sports and studied dance, including ballet,

hip-hop, modern, and jazz, and once aspired to be a choreographer.

It's no surprise that she's blessed with the ability to move her body fluidly; her first

name means "wave" and her last name means "riverbank."

Beauty queen

A talent scout spotted Gadot and encouraged her to participate in the 2004 Miss Israel

competition, which she easily won.

Gadot admitted that she didn't even actually want to win, telling Glamour magazine,

"I never thought I would win.

I was shocked when they crowned me."

After that, Gadot intentionally sabotaged herself during the Miss Universe competition.

"So I did anything I could not to win, so I…

I came down late, I wasn't wearing the evening gowns, I didn't wear any makeup."

Although she didn't want to win Miss Universe, the experience ended up launching her modeling

career.

Law and order

Before Gadot began her acting career, she went to school to study law, then served in

the Israel Defense Forces for two years, where she worked as a combat instructor.

She couldn't escape modeling, even during her time in the IDF, and was included in Maxim's

2007 "Women of the Israeli Army" feature.

This was just the beginning of the media attention Gadot would receive.

Over the years, she's modeled for many campaigns and was recently named the face of Gucci's

Bamboo perfume.

Babes and Bond

Bubot, which translates to "Babes" in English, may have been a short-lived series in Israel,

but it helped Gal Gadot gain some experience and visibility.

The scripted show followed the lives of models and only lasted for a season, but it was the

future actress' first acting job.

Godot took the small-time role after the casting director of Quantum of Solace invited her

to audition to be a Bond girl.

She declined, but the encounter seems to have been a turning point in her career.

After finishing her first year in school, she abandoned her studies to appear in her

first film, Fast & Furious, thanks to the same, very persistent casting director.

Love and marriage

Around the same time she was appearing in her first feature film, Gadot and businessman

Yaron Varsano were introduced by mutual friends when they attended an offbeat party in the

desert.

While they didn't necessarily buy into the gathering's theme of practicing yoga, clearing

chakras, and eating a healthy diet, they were definitely into each other.

Gadot told Glamour,

"I think I [knew he was the one], but I was too young to get it.

He did.

He's 10 years older than me.

He told me on our second date he was serious and wasn't going to wait more than two years

to ask me to marry him.

Fast-forward two years; he proposed.

We were married in 2008."

The pair have two daughters: Alma, who was born in 2011, and Maya, who joined the family

in 2017.

Big screen

After wowing moviegoers in the Fast & Furious franchise, Gal Gadot has also delivered some

memorable performances in smaller roles.

Notably, Gadot played a henchwoman in Knight and Day, where she easily fit in with the

film's big stars, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

Changing gears, Gadot appeared as Natanya, one of many love interests in Date Night.

Gadot also appeared in an episode of Entourage as Lisa, a supermodel who has the misfortune

of dating Vincent Chase.

But the best was yet to come.

Burgers and ice cream

Getting in shape for a superhero movie isn't an easy feat, but Gal Gadot has it covered.

To take on the role of Diana Prince, she gained 17 pounds.

Obviously, she worked out a lot, incorporating a variety of martial arts and paddle boarding.

Despite how seriously she takes her job, Gadot also embraces her inner "foodie."

While she says that she looks at food as fuel for her body, she also indulges in favorite

treats: "burgers and ice cream."

She explained to Harper's Bazaar:

"I don't restrict myself, I can eat everything.

It's all a matter of measurements and quantity of the food; Just give the food the respect

and give yourself the respect to enjoy it."

Dawn of Justice

There was a lot of hype about Batman versus Superman: Dawn of Justice, and most of it

leading up to the release focused on the men in the starring roles.

To everyone's surprise, it was Gal Gadot's portrayal of Wonder Woman that was a showstopper.

Her appearance laid the foundation for her standalone Wonder Woman film, and while many

questioned the box office draw of a standalone female superhero movie, Wonder Woman delivered

big time at the box-office, raking in over $101 million domestically during its opening

weekend.

That makes it the biggest opener for a film directed by a woman.

Of course, it's not just about ticket sales.

Critics and audiences have heaped on the praise as well.

Gadot is signed on for at least two more DC films, so we can't wait to see how her stunning

and amazing transformation continues for years to come!

think about it how is it that you can have a maternal haplogroup is W6 I said that

right I'm just learning about it but no DNA what happened to the DNA I

mean how did I have how to take some out of Africa and where's my DNA why is it

missing and so but I do have the Native American I just don't know what tribe

is you know when we were like transforming and so apparently I have

the genetic DNA from that too which is like from apes I think or when we

transformed from that ancient ancient ancient man and why do I say all I'm

thinking of is barbarian <Neanderthal Ancestry> that's not the word I know when I go when I'm done with

this video I'm going to come up with the right word that I'm just having a brain

fart right now you guys know what I'm talking about you know how they always

made fun of the cave people and they would show the man and the club and you

have on a what is it like a animal fur who may be dragging the woman around by

her ponytail that era and so yeah I mean it's the old old old old group it's like

uh well I'll have to show you guys some time I'll show you the well I have it on

Facebook too I posted the pictures on Facebook and so I'm telling you about it

here so I know a lot of people in the past asked if I was Native Americans and

I had no idea yep I sure AM I sure AM it's not a whole

lot but the markers there and it's like it makes me think that it just makes me

kind of think that there was targeting like can they target to try to erase DNA

but I don't know that's just in my brain right now can they target to try to

erase DNA that's what I'm wondering in those that I'm thinking

and you know I know that they said something about like when America

participated in liberating Germany that they brought 5,000 German scientists to

the United States under the guise of science so that has me wondering like

where they here for other reasons and was it to try to do the same thing under

different circumstances that's what it has me wondering like I mean this seems

like a crime to humanity if anything at the very least but I know a lot of this

stuff is public from the Freedom of Information Act you can find that it's

public under the Freedom of Information Act so yeah so if we had been having

having the same thing and when people say we have systemic racism in this

country it's not actually what we think it is it's something much much larger

and much much deeper than what we can even imagine and its target targeting

people in general you know who come from

certain ethnic groups that's what I'm thinking you know so I don't know I

smell smoke right now so they must be burning again so yeah I think I'm going

to go inside and spuds being naughty here

Ask the Vet - Bone spavin vs. bog spavin in horses - Duration: 3:24.

SARAH: "What's the difference between bone spavin and bog

spavin?

How do each affect the horse, and how can they

be prevented or treated?"

DR ANDY KANEPS: Both of those items, bone spavin and bog

spavin, involve the hock.

Bone spavin involves the joints and the bone,

and it's usually osteoarthritis.

And osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition

of the cartilage and bone that results

in proliferation of new bone in the horse's attempt

to fuse the joint.

Bog spavin is extra fluid in the upper joints of the hock.

And that can be also associated with osteoarthritis

or inflammation for another cause in that joint.

Bog spavin may also be present in the cases in a young horse

of OCD or osteochondrosis.

There, taking radiographs and finding the specific diagnosis

will help identify the cause of that.

Treatment of those conditions would be for the bone spavin

as you would any osteoarthritis.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.

Sometimes topical anti-inflammatories.

And in some situations, joint injections.

SARAH: And is there anything anyone

can do it like a preventative measure for either condition?

DR ANDY KANEPS: Maintaining good body condition of the horse.

Strength.

Good muscle tone is very, very important.

Good shoeing.

Also working your horse on good footing.

Rather than a rock hard ring, have something

with nice cushion to it.

Those factors are the most important parts of prevention.

Supportive things that may help, but it's not

research-supported, are items like

the oral joint supplements, medications that

may be injected in the muscle or in the joint may help limit

the progression of osteoarthritis

once it is there.

SARAH: I think a lot of horse owners,

it's really common for them to think of it as an acute problem

because it's a problem you find in one area.

And so they think, oh there's something wrong with his hock.

But to your point, it's really about thinking

about the whole horse and how his whole life is affecting

the things that led up to that problem.

And so that's the body condition, how you're

shoeing, how you're riding, all of those things

are where these types of problems can come from.

DR ANDY KANEPS: That's very true.

I mean it's wear and tear, and it's

going to happen to different degrees in most horses.

It's doing the best you can to give the horse the best

type of life.

SARAH: Yeah, set him up for success.

DR ANDY KANEPS: Yes, set him up for success.
