here we have my very dirty 2005 350z just got nice interior cleaning but now
the outside looks like crap after a week end of camping bird stuff all kinds of
gross stuff so what we're going to do today is we're going to foam the car
what foaming does is it lifts the dirt off of the paintwork and kind of gives
it a pre rinse before you wash it so that when you go to wash the car you
aren't dragging that dirt around creating swirl marks and scratches
the less swirl marks and scratches you have the shinier pink and also the less
that you have to polish or do kind any kind of paint correction so with that
let's get to the products that we'll be using today okay here are the products
we're going to be using today to foam the car up
we have foam gun and we have a foam cannon lance the main difference
between the two other than price is that with the foam gun you just need to hook it up
to a garden hose the foam cannon lance you do need a pressure washer be it gas or
electric so we'll start off with discussing the foam gun this is the
unit it comes just like this you get a mixing bottle and you get the head on it
for doing the mixing you can control the dilution ratio by this knob up here
anywhere from A which i think is extremely diluted all the way up to E
which is very concentrated you're using a lot of products from the bottle in
your foam let me open it up you get the suction tube which goes into the
bottom which allow you to suck up the product from the container to mix into
the water stream you get the nozzle which when inserted this way will give
you a horizontal fan we insert it this way I'll shoot out a vertical fan you
also get this sprayer attachment this is what actually connects to the garden
hose through the bottom there comes but you can see use it as a normal sprayers
to spray clean water and comes with a quick-release which allows you to
connect the unit like so this mode can foam away take top off rinse everything
off that's a foam gun foam canon is kind of similar you have a bottle here for
holding your product you have a knob up top here for controlling how much
product you want to use and thus how much foam you want to create and you
have a nozzle here which you can turn to control the fan pattern which you'll see
later
as I said before this does need a pressure washer to use it and it comes
with a quick-release attachment that fits on to most pressure washer wands
this is a wand from an electric pressure washer and you can just clip it
in and when you're done clip it out then the product that we're
going to be using inside both of these devices is Chemical Guys Honeydew
snow foam it's specially formulated for doing foaming and we're going to give it
a run today see how it does this is the pressure washer we'll be using today
it's a SunJoe electric pressure washer 2030 psi at one point seven six gallons
per minute and fourteen and a half amps which means you can plug it into a
normal electrical outlet as always you can find all the products that I'll be
using this video in the description below okay I have prepped both the foam
gun up top and the foam cannon with the same amount of chemical guys not
Chemical Brothers as I said before honeydew snow foam soap I put it says to
do about one to two ounces in each bottle and mix it with hot water which
is very important it helps produce more foam so make sure that when you mix the
product in the bottles ahead of time you use hot water I just did about two
healthy squirts so I'm not exactly sure what that equals to in fluid ounces so
the plan is is going to be to do the front half of the car the foam gun and
then the back half the foam cannon and compare the difference all right the
first thing we got up is the foam gun here we go
this is set on e setting which is using the most amount of product the least
amount of dilution the see it is making foam it's a little watery might not be
such a bad thing
it being watery would help carry the dirt away that doesn't really stick to
the paint and give it the penetration you want on the dirt
alright that was what the foam gun looks like okay now we're going to go ahead
and try it with the foam cannon and they do make varying qualities of foam cannons I
happen to purchase one that wasn't the most expensive which may account for
some of the results but we'll go ahead and try it anyway so this is the foam
cannon Lance on electric pressure washer with Chemical Guys honeydew snow foam as
you can see does put out a much
more thick coverage of foam can it help stick
on the paint a little bit longer and help dissolve that dirt
that huge difference between this and the foam gun
look at that kind of painted the whole car white so this is after the foam
cannon you can see sticking moving a lot more slowly and I got to give it to the
chemical guys there honeydew snow foam those smell pretty pretty good there you
go now might as well go back and do the
part that wasn't done so well
yeah I think we have a clear winner here who can even see the part I did earlier
still got foam on it whereas the foam gun part the foam had all run away by
this point so foam gun what's got going for it ease of use you just need a
garden hose there's not much setup foam Canon though definitely produces a
better quality result however there's a little bit more of a pain in the ass
setup do you need to haul out the pressure washer and connect the hose and
electricity or buy gas for a gas one but you can see definitely does a better
job alright and that does it for this video next time I'll show you the what I
consider their proper washing technique for keeping swirls and scratches off of
the car thanks for watching bye
