DA Vows To �Get Justice Done� And Retry Cosby Case
Round 2 is coming.
Within hours of a judge declaring a mistrial in the sexual assault trial of Bill Cosby,
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said he was not giving up his effort
to convict the 79-year-old comedian for allegedly sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.
�We will revaluate and review our case, and will retry it and move as soon as possible,�
Steele said.
�We have made the determination of moving forward, and it lies in the fact she deserves
a verdict in this this case � and we will push forward to try and get justice done,�
he added while speaking to reporters during a post-trial press conference.
�We hope that moving forward in this case sends a strong message that victims of these
types of crimes can come forward and can be heard on what has happened to them,� he
said.
Steele said there is �no doubt in his mind� that Constand would continue to press her
case.
�I mentioned before how courageous she is and I can�t emphasize that enough,� he
said, calling Cosby�s accuser �a positive person and has kept all of us going through
a number of days when we were waiting for the jury to come back.�
A retrial will be scheduled within the next 120 days, Steele said, and a pre-trial conference
to be held in the �near future� would yield a more specific date for Cosby to return
to court.
In the meantime, Cosby remains free on $1 million bail.
The district attorney refused comment on a statement issued by Camille Cosby after the
trial.

Bill Cosby made no public comment after the mistrial was declared, but his spokesman,
Andrew Wyatt, declared the mistrial a victory for Cosby and celebrated by quoting a leader
of the Black Panther Party.
�In the words of Huey P. Newton, power is the ability to define phenomenon, making it
act in a designed manner,� Wyatt said.
�Mr. Cosby�s power is back.
The jurors, they used their power to speak � Cosby�s power is back,� he said.
Attorney Gloria Allred, who represents women who have accused Cosby of sexual assault,
said Cosby is not home free.
�We can never underestimate the blinding power of celebrity.
But justice will come,� she said.
�In other words: it is too early to celebrate, Mr. Cosby.
Round 2 may be just around the corner.
And this time, justice will prevail,� she said.
