Because what could possibly go wrongscientists create a BLACK HOLE on Earth

Nothing could go wrong reassure experts.

Using the worlds most powerful and advanced X-Ray laser, experts have managed to create

a MINI BLACK HOLE in a laboratory which could lead to numerous revolutionary developments

in science.

The machine used extremely bright, intense, fast flashes of light in order to capture

atomic-level snapshots of natures fastest processes known to us.

According to experts, a single pulse managed to strip away everything but a few electrons

out of one atom from the INSIDE out.

This resulted in a void that began to pull in electrons from the rest of the moleculejust

as black holes feeds on a spiraling disc of matter in space.

This new breakthrough is expected to advance the imaging of viruses and bacteria, something

that could eventually lead to the development of better medicines in the near future.

The so-called molecular Black Hole was developed by scientists from the Kansas State

University.

The results, published in Nature, give scientists fundamental insights they need to better plan

and interpret experiments using the most intense and energetic X-ray pulses from SLACs Linac

Coherent Light Source (LCLS) X-ray free-electron laser.

As reported, the laser which created the molecular black hole (LCLS), is used to image individual

biological objects, including viruses and bacteria.

For any type of experiment you do that focuses intense X-rays on a sample, you want

to understand how it reacts to the X-rays, said Daniel Rolles of Kansas State University.

This paper shows that we can understand and model the radiation damage in small molecules,

so now we can predict what damage we will get in other systems.

As explained by SLAC, the experiment, led by Rolles and Artem Rudenko, took place at

LCLSs Coherent X-ray Imaging instrument (CXI).

The device is able to deliver X-rays with the highest possible energies achievable at

LCLS, known as hard X-rays, and records data from samples in the instant before the laser

pulse destroys them.

So How intense are those X-ray pulses?

They are about a hundred times more intense than what you would get if you focused all

the sunlight that hits the Earths surface onto a thumbnail, said LCLS staff scientist

and co-author Sebastien Boutet.

Scientists used mirrors in order to focus the X-ray beam on a spot which is around 100

NANOMETERS in diameterthats around one thousand times SMALLER than the width of a

human hair.

As reported by SLAC, scientists observed three types of different samples, individual

xenon atoms, which have 54 electrons each, and two types of molecules that each contain

a single iodine atom, which has 53 electrons.

Interestingly, based on previous studies experts expected electrons from the outer parts of

the atom to drop into voids inside the atom.

While this did occur, the process did not end there.

SLAC reports that the iodine atom also sucked in electrons from neighboring carbon and hydrogen

atoms, losing a total of 54 electrons, resulting in a level of damage and disruption which

is higher than expected, and greatly different in nature.

Artem Rudenko, the co-author of the study, said: We think the effect was even more

important in the larger molecule than in the smaller one, but we dont know how to quantify

it yet.

We estimate that more than 60 electrons were kicked out, but we dont actually know where

it stopped because we could not detect all the fragments that flew off as the molecule

fell apart to see how many electrons were missing.

This is one of the open questions we need to study.

Mike Dunne, director of the LCLS, concluded: This has important benefits for scientists

wishing to achieve the highest-resolution images of biological molecules to inform the

development of better pharmaceuticals, for example.

Take Your Art to The Third Dimension - Understanding the Elements of Art and Design - Duration: 4:43.

Now it's time to take our art to another dimension.

The THIRD dimension!

When artists refer to the element of Form, we're referring to three-dimensional shapes.

Today, we'll demonstrate that EVERY piece of artwork has form - even drawings of a flat

shape on a flat page?

♫ music playing ♫ Welcome back to Mr. New's Art Class.

It's wonderful to see your smiling faces today!

Wait! Wait... hold on a moment.

Mr. New, in your first "elements of art" video, you told us "did you know there are seven

basic building blocks of art, which can be found in every single artwork, whether you

tried to put them there or not."

What if I just draw a flat square on a flat paper?

How is that a 3D form?

Okay, so I know this might be a bit of a stretch for some of you, but...

A sheet of paper itself is actually a three-dimensional object.

It obviously has height and width - there's no question about that.

But it also has a bit of thickness.

Not much, but it's there.

And different papers have different thicknesses.

Not to mention the flexibility of the paper, or the thickness of the frame you might hang

it in.

And some surfaces, like stretched canvas, wood, or cinder block walls, are much thicker

than a sheet of paper.

The type of surface you choose for your artwork makes a huge impact on how that artwork looks

and feels.

So yes, even your square on paper scenario DOES have form.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's take a look at how form can be created

INTENTIONALLY.

The most obvious way is to actually sculpt a real 3D piece of art, using clay or plaster

or various other sculpting materials.

But that's sort of a "no duh" moment.

What about drawing 3D forms on paper?

How do we do that?

The first step to doing this is understanding perspective.

The way you turn an object towards or away from your point of view will change the way

that shape looks.

A circle in perspective becomes an oval.

A square or rectangle in perspective becomes a trapezoid or parallelogram, depending on

which way you turn it.

You can practice this with lots of different shapes, and see how they look when turned

in different directions!

For a detailed tutorial on how to draw 3D forms on a flat surface, check out my Form

and Spaces playlist - link is in the description.

Meanwhile, we'll use this video to demonstrate a few different ways that the element of form

can be used in your artwork.

♫ music playing ♫ In these drawings, forms are created by the clever use of value.

Notice how the highlights and shadows emphasize the three-dimensional nature of the objects

even more than the shapes and outlines do.

♫ music playing ♫

And here are some paintings in which colors are used to emphasize those highlights and

shadows even more.

♫ music playing ♫

These are some examples of sculptures, which each display form in a distinctly different

way.

♫ music playing ♫

And finally, look at the way some painters try to emphasize the form of their canvas

by keeping everything on its surface very flat.

Heart Surgery Patients Face Creepy New Strain Of Bacteria - Duration: 2:28.

When patients go in for any kind of heart surgery, they know that they're undertaking

huge risks, but these are risks that the patients know are necessary in order to survive.

Sadly, a company called LivaNova has caused an unnecessary increase in risks for heart

surgery patients by supplying American hospitals with a medical device that's packed with bacteria.

The device is called Stockert 3T Heater-Cooler, that's the name of it.

The heater-cooler device is absolutely essential when a patient undergoes a heart surgery,

whether you're having a valve replaced, an entire heart transplant, or a bypass, this

device is what's circulating your blood, heating it and cooling it outside your body and keeping

you alive during those procedures.

The Stockert 3T Heater-Cooler is used in 60% of heart surgeries in the United States, so

the odds are that if you've had an open-heart surgery, you would have had this device involved.

What we're learning now, and what the FDA's been investigating for years, is that these

devices may have what's called, biofilm.

It's a bacteria inside of them that's actually being emitted and spewed out into the surgical

field, getting into people's open chest wounds during the surgery and causing devastating

injuries and deaths, in some cases.

LivaNova manufactured Stockert 3T devices at their lab in Europe and in those labs there

was a bacteria called NTM.

It's a very rare form of bacteria to cause an infection, but it's also everywhere in

the environment.

And patients who are exposed to NTM during open-heart surgery can develop symptoms that

can take months to recognize, which means diagnosing and treating this infection is

very difficult.

What happens with a Stockert 3T device, is that the water tank controlling the patient's

blood temperature becomes contaminated with this very specific type of NTM bacteria from

the manufacturing plant.

When it showed up in hospitals in America and throughout the world, doctors didn't know.

Surgeons didn't know and hospitals didn't know that there was already this bacterial

contamination.

But when these devices were used in open-heart surgeries, patients became infected.

And as usual, the FDA, for years, has dragged their feet in controlling this problem.

hey guys, today we are comparing the ace 17+ with the magista 2

if you cant decide between the 2 and you are able to pay the rrp of 300€ then this video is for you!

The ace has a higher weight with about 250 grams, the magista only is about 195

lets start with the comparison

both boots offer a great comfort and take only few time to break in

its a bit hard to get inside the magista, its suitable for normal feet and offer a great lockdown

the lockdown of the ace isnt perfect because it doesnt have laces

i would try them on before buying, still they should be suitable for wide feet

touch and feel for the ball with the ace are outstanding

the magista satesfies through a good grip

The durability with the ace is a bit better because its more compact

if you are looking for a flexible, light boot with a good comfort and grip the magista might be a good choice

the ace has a perfect touch and a good comfort

if you still have questions just write them into the comments

i hope you liked the video, see you next time, ciao
