Ascension Toolkit #11 Self-Observation

by Michael H Hallett,

Most of the tools in this series are just like tools in a mechanics toolbox.

You get them out when you need them to perform a specific task.

In the next couple of articles, Id like to discuss some tools that have a more general

use.

Theyre like some of the things mechanics use in a garagesoil, drip-trays, manuals;

the cloths they wipe their hands on without even thinking about it.

The first of these tools is self-observation: the ability to observe ones own behavior.

You might think that we all do this innately, all of the time.

Actually we dont.

Whenever we are acting out from some unconscious trigger, we are completely oblivious of it.

(The clue is in the word unconscious.)

We do or say whatever stupid or damaging bit of behavior it is and even if someone tells

it straight to our faces we still dont get it.

We go into denial and repeat the process every time that particular trigger is activated.

Coalminers helmets

The Ascension process strips away that ability to keep acting out from the unconscious.

One of the components of this is self-observation.

The more you develop your powers of self-observation, the sooner youll clear all that junk in

your unconscious and the faster youll speed along the Ascension highway.

(Ascension can be understood as the process of emptying the unconscious into the conscious;

the fully conscious individual, by definition, has no unconscious.)

To strengthen your self-observation, simply be aware of it and intend to develop it.

Imagine its like one of those coal miners helmets with the light on top.

Switch it on and leave it.

After a while youll notice that your inner observer comes into play.

Your inner observer is cool and detached.

It notices patterns of dysfunctional behavior both in you and in others.

Oh, duh

Initially we may begin by realising weve done something less than healthy after the

fact.

Oh, duh, I did such-and-such again. As we strengthen our self-observation, it

shifts into real time.

We can see and feel ourselves acting out from a damaged place in our psyche even if we arein

that momentpowerless to stop it.

And, even for experienced Ascension practitioners, there can be times when our inner observer

goes offline when we are immersed in something particularly deep.

Once you have identified an issue within yourself, you can get out the other tools described

in this series and do the inner work of clearing the damage.

No time to rest, thoughonce one issue is cleared you need your inner observer back

on the job as another issue is likely to follow!

Trump Floats Plans To Install Solar Panels On Mexico Border Wall, Uninstall Welfare For New Immigran - Duration: 2:56.

Trump Floats Plans To Install Solar Panels On Mexico Border Wall, Uninstall Welfare For

New Immigrants

by ZeroPointNow

President Trump drew applause at a Wednesday rally in Cedar Rapids, Ohio, when he publicly

revealed plans to attach solar panels to his controversial southern border wall project.

Trump had previously pitched the solar wall to congressional republicans in a June 6 meeting.

We're thinking about building the wall as a solar wall, so it creates energy and pays

for itself.

-Donald J. Trump While discussing the merits of the project,

Trump mused:

Think of it - the higher it goes, the more valuable it is!

The wall - a core promise made by Trump throughout the 2016 presidential campaign, is intended

to stem the flow of drugs and illegal immigration into the United States.

Candidate Trump repeatedly claimed that Mexico would pay for the wall, however when it came

time to discuss details after the election, Mexican leaders pushed back fiercely.

In response, Trump suggested that the United States would pay for the wall upfront and

find ways of extracting payment from Mexico later.

Trump pointed out that by attaching solar panels to the wall, "Mexico will have to pay

much less money - and that's good, right?"

Marketing to Liberals 101- In what's sure to keep left leaning fact checkers snarking

away into the night, President Trump claimed the solar panels were his idea - a statement

that's pure bait for petty pundits like Rachel Maddow, who will inform her dwindling audience

that plans for solar have ackchually been included in several designs submitted to the

Department of Homeland Security by over 200 companies since the project was announced.

Once Maddow fans smugly scoff at the incorrect statement, the fact that Trump is building

a green, earth-friendly solar wall be the message which reaches liberal hearts and minds

- especially in swing states - counteracting some of the outrage over the 'injustice' of

forcing illegal immigrants to get in line before legally residing in the United States.

To that end - during the rally, Trump said he favored legislation which would block welfare

benefits for new immigrants for at least five years.

The time has come for new immigration rules which say that those seeking admission into

our country must be able to support themselves financially, and should not use welfare for

a period of at least five years

Green energy and sustainable, legal immigrants... what a concept.

Penny Candy Store Tour // TheCandyGuy - Duration: 8:06.

Welcome back to my channel TheCandyGuy where i talk about treats for the sweet tooth

today I'm going to talk about actually today

A tour of the candy store

So here's the front of the store and let me show you the side

so here's where you enter

there's the front door, here is the shaved ice window where you get your shaved ice

and ice cream there's a little bell, for service. Now let's go in the store

there's a lot of people that watch my videos and they're nowhere near the

Penny Candy Store and they always ask I want to see the rest of the store

all you see is that part over there where I film

so let me show you a little bit around

so the first thing you have to do when you enter the candy store is grab a basket

a lot of people just go straight for the candy and then their hands are

filled with candy and they're like "uh what do I do with the candy?" [Me] "uh basket" so grab a basket and just

start loading up candy or selecting, reasonably. Don't go crazy, but there's

candy everywhere. This little round display has candy. There's baskets ..uh barrels of candy

Which we're really happy about our barrels, we love our barrels there's a few

that we have scattered throughout the store they just add a nice little old

feel to the candy store. There's also a lot of gift items

but let's start moving along to the rest of the store

and right here down the aisle right across from

the door we have little mini lollies and then jawbreakers, sour jawbreakers, rock

candy on sticks and then across from those we have all our $1.50 little bags

These bags are all our different gummies and some hard candies that we have in bulk

but they sell quicker when we bag them up as little bags and oh my

gosh do they sell so fast. I feel like every other day we're making more and

more bags to fill this section but there's an assortment of different gummies

and I'll show you later where they are in bulk. So we move along to this wall

where we have a lot of our chocolate bars located

there's things that you usually find at a grocery store like Snickers and M&Ms

Now and Laters and then other things that you don't find at other grocery

stores the Big Cherries the Cup-O-Gold the potatoes spu..ah Idaho Spuds there we go

and there's just a lot of little candies at the bottom

and across from this wall are other candies

these little guys

right there shows you we only have four options

left for Pop Rocks hopefully I have a clip showing you how many Pop Rocks

options we usually have. They're on order so right now we're really low on a lot of flavors

right here is a cool Coca Cola ... fridge that we have if you

notice it's right here this little opening this used to be a doorway

it's still is a doorway but the fridge is in there that way it seals off to the back

Right here we have all our Mexican candy the Mexican candy used to be on

the other side of the store but we've got two new suppliers for Mexican candy

so it's grown. Right now I'm showing you a clip which shows that these barrels used

to have all our sugar free now the sugar free is across from the candy bars

and this section used to be a lot of our Jelly Bellies now they're more Mexican candy

The store is always changing. I took different clips over the last few

months to show you what the candy store looks like but I realized like a lot of

the things change. We sell a lot of things, we move things around, so it's not

always the same candy store. And then we have some toys, right here we have finger traps,

soldiers, bomb bags, and older toys like marbles and jacks and people ask

are the jacks plastic or metal they're metal and then we have a kazoo. Now kids

will buy kazoos and they'll blow on them like a whistle and they're like "oh it's

broken" no it's a kazoo you hum in it. so then right here is the cash register

where you'll find me most of the time (laughs) adding up your candy Right below is the

case, I'm not going to show you that right now

because it's pretty much empty, we phase out our chocolates during the summer but

I'll show you clip right now of what the display case usually is filled with

bunch of different chocolate options that we get from the Layman Candy Company

They hand make all our chocolates for us. Then across from the

register we have different chocolate options as well that are kind of covered

in a candy shell so they don't really worry about melting but like chocolate

covered almonds, chocolate covered peanuts, chocolate covered sunflower seeds

Those are really good, chocolate covered espresso beans. Those are even better

and then right here are like some gift items where there's salt and pepper shakers

and those sell like crazy and then right behind this our other gift items where

they're just small little collectibles that people just love to enjoy to

collect and then some greeting cards. So I'm going to speed up the tour a bit hopefully

because I don't want to drag this out but over here in this section we then have

different candies, old candies, that people just really enjoy. Atomic Fireballs,

Bit-O-Honey, Mary Janes, things that people just

don't see at regular grocery stores. Peanut Butter Bars, Chick-O-Sticks root beer barrels

and then over here is our penny candy section that is now two cents

yes, it had to go up, couldn't be a penny forever

40 years of having candy for a penny, that the store has been here, and inflation

sorry people but we have the Frooties, which are a big seller, assorted bags

of just the different two cent candies which also has the Albert's Chews

which are a hard candy but then soften up and then here's the bags of all the

individual flavors if you just want certain ones and then we have this little

island of different candies oops I didn't show you the suckers over here we

have a bunch of suckers and then the gummy like hamburgers, hot dogs,

those are weird but they taste yummy, and then those suckers and then we

have Laffy Taffy's, Airheads, and Warheads, and then these candy sticks which are a

big seller, people love them. Problem is they always come broken a lot of them

and so there's nothing we can do about it. Oh and then salt water taffy

salt water taffy sells like crazy. Then right across from the salt water taffy we have

another barrel so we have our taffy barrel and then another barrel which right now has

the salted caramels and then there's a tiny one and there's other candy here we have

the Zots, we have the gold nugget, we have Big League Chew, and then we have this

one I haven't talked about yet. This is the candy cigarette or bubble gum cigarettes

umm a little controversial haven't figured out how to do that video

don't know if I should (laughs awkwardly) and then there is a whole wall of all the candies

The gummies I showed you earlier all those are right here if you just want more

than those small bags here's in bulk and also some jawbreakers and other candies

there's our black licorice, people love their black licorice, so we have a large

selection and then more can... more gift items in the display case

so I hope you enjoyed the tour of the candy store this is for those of you that will maybe

never be able to come visit. Sad. Wish you could but I know distance is a problem

so anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little tour of the candy store. Now time for the outro

Thank you for watching this week's video of TheCandyGuy

Why Are We Afraid of Clowns? - Duration: 9:39.

Clowns.

They are everywhere and the mere sight of them can send someone running.

And who shouldn't be scared out of their wits when they see one?

Those painted faces and the leering grins that seem to be keeping a dark secret.

Once upon a time, clowns were an enjoyment when the circus was still a big thing.

However, due to some strange twist of fate, many are now terrified of these circus performers.

It even has a psychological term called "Coulrophobia" or the fear of clowns.

To many, the fear is mainly because clowns look creepy or they weird people out but,

just like the pasty make up they put on, something sits just beneath the surface of this phobia

and not many of us ask about it.

So today, we are counting down the reasons why people are absolutely terrified of clowns.

Number Ten: Popular Culture Let's start with the obvious.

Movies and TV have a large impact in our daily lives.

Popular culture has such a hold on us that it can influence the way we think and the

way we feel about things.

Fear is a normal part of our lives because without it, our species may not have reached

this point of existence; and according to studies, human beings have two kinds of fear:

innate fear and learned fear.

Innate fear is something that we may already have to begin with such as the fear of heights

or tight spaces.

Learned fear, on the other hand is contributed by factors we come across in our environment

on an almost regular basis.

People's fear of clowns may be explained by events that have happened during their

lifetime.

It would not be a surprise if people see clowns as murderous psychopaths because they attribute

it to John Wayne Gacy, one of the most notorious serial killers of the 20th century that dressed

up as a clown to lure his victims, most of whom are children.

But perhaps, the biggest contribution ever made to coulrophobia was the publication of

Stephen King's best-selling novel "IT".

The novel follows a group of friend who decide to face their childhood demon: a creature

disguised as a clown called Pennywise.

What drove people's fears even further was when it was later on adapted onto the big

screen with Tim Curry in the title role.

Number Nine: The Painted Smile There is something about that almost permanent

smile painted on a clown's face that can send shivers down anyone's spine.

What is even more unnerving is that the smile makes it all the more difficult to tell when

the person in makeup is showing real emotions.

Imagine trying to interact with a person who never stopped smiling even for a second.

The image just conjures up the terrifying face of Conrad Veidt's character in the

silent film The Man Who Laughs or even The Joker himself.

In a publication called Psychology Today, an article outlines that a clown's painted

smile limits the emotions that we can interpret on his face.

It creates an optical illusion leading our brain to believe that the face is smiling

despite the fact that we can distinguish his makeup from his real lips.

It also does not help to a person's anxiety whenever a clown asks them to smile back.

Best case scenario is that the anxiety is fuelled by the awkward situation or the annoyance

towards the clown.

The resulting fear, in some cases, is piled on by the pressure to interact.

Number Eight: Medieval Origins The Medieval Fool or the Court Jester was

the precursor to today's modern circus clown.

It may even be said that the Jester was the precursor to the profession of stand-up comedy.

However, despite what we know of the Fool or the Jester as presented to us by movies,

we have really just hit the tip of this harlequin iceberg.

While they do, in fact, provide an amount of entertainment in the King's court, the

court Jester was also a satirist who would poke fun even at those who hold the highest

and most influential positions in government without losing his neck.

Andrew Stott, an English professor specializing in what is called the "clowning culture"

points out that "the medieval fool was continually reminding us of our mortality, our animal

nature, of how unreasonable and ridiculous and petty we can be."

He also adds that these Fools and Jesters have a distinct and tenuous grip on life and

society that allows them to see it from an almost morbid perspective.

He continues that "clowns have always been associated with danger and fear… they push

our understanding to the limits of reason and they do this through joking but also through

ridicule."

What may be driving the point home here is that a deeper kind of fear towards clowns

is that they may remind us of our won insecurities and fear that we try to hide with an imaginary

mask the same way they hide their faces behind paint and makeup.

Number Seven: Unpredictable and Untrustworthy Tricksters

People thrive when they are in a daily routine.

It can give anyone a sense of security knowing that things are going as planned and on schedule;

it brings normalcy in an otherwise chaotic environment.

Clowns, however, are the antithesis of order and normalcy.

What is normal about fitting two dozen people in a tiny, two-door car?

The idea that they can be disruptive is something that most people find unbearable.

Their irrational characteristics make them walking nightmares to people who find peace

in being in control.

The fact that clowns wear a thick layer of makeup, a kind of mask, gives them license

to abandon normal social behaviors and norms.

By definition, clowns continuously push the limits of what people can tolerate until they

eventually snap.

Beneath all that color, we are never sure what they plan to do next and that alone can

cause some serious mental anxiety.

Number Six: Not Funny Anymore People's attitudes towards comedy and what's

funny change with time.

Decades ago, we would be rolling on the floor with laughter at the slapstick antics of the

Marx Brothers or Charlie Chaplin.

Today, physical comedy or prop comedy isn't as funny as it used to be.

The discomfort that is attributed to clowns may also stem from the fact that their brand

of funny has long since expired.

In a time where topical humor gets more giggles than a pie in the face, clown comedy is quite

obsolete.

Children and adults alike may end up confused or anxious when they are expected – or,

at the worst, forced – to laugh at something they simply do not find funny or amusing.

The underlying social pressure and social anxiety brought by this have a much bigger

impact in children when their confusion switches to terror because they simple do not know

how to react to the situation.

Number Five: Mass Hysteria Sometimes we become afraid of something because

most people are afraid of them.

Going back to "learned fear", our survival instinct depends upon what our current environment

is.

For example, you may not have a fear of riding elevators and then, one day, the one you are

on breaks down leaving you trapped for a good hour or two.

Such a situation can create a kind of trauma that will rewire your brain into alerting

you about potential danger the next time you ride an elevator.

The same goes with clowns.

For a time, people with coulrophobia aren't as many but in 2016 when the "Killer Clown"

phenomenon were making waves on the internet with people dressing up as clowns and pranking

innocent passers-by, suddenly coulrophobics have been popping up left and right.

It is the result of mass hysteria that, suddenly, people are finding themselves in fear of clowns

even when they never had any kind of trauma with them in the past.

Mass hysteria, in psychological terms, is a phenomenon in which an illusion is shared

by a group of people that sees or identifies something as a threat or imminent danger.

No matter how ridiculous or illogical it is, the result is mass panic.

The "Killer Clown" phenomenon swept different parts of America and Europe most especially

and the fear of clowns spread like wildfire even to those who have not experienced this

morbid fad.

Number Four: Stranger Danger In the same vein as the murderous John Wayne

Gacy and the French Killer Clown named Jean-Gaspard Deburau, clowns have been associated with

the phrase "Stranger Danger".

The past fifty or so years have seen a spike in the concern over suspicious characters

who want to spend time around children.

Many depictions of child predators in movies and television are usually dressed as colourful

circus clowns who bait children with sweets or a funny story.

What's tragic about this is that these predators exploit an image that is normally associated

with comedy, fun times, and laughter.

Clowns as a figure of fun is mostly shown by Ronald McDonald, the poster boy for McDonald's

fast food.

Sadly, Ronald McDonald's innocent image has been forever tainted by the twisted motivations

of some people.

These days, people think twice when a clown offers them a free balloon.

Number Three: The Unknown In a study conducted by Dr Penny Curtis of

the University of Sheffield, she noticed that clowns gave a vast majority of the children

in a hospital pediatric ward "the creep" when faced with an image of a clown.

The discovery was made after polling 250 children between the ages of 4 to 16 to find out how

they felt with images of clowns.

Even more surprising was that the youngest participants of the study showed that they

were uncomfortable with the images even if they have never seen a single horror movie

with a clown in it.

Dr Curtis then drew the conclusion that children found clowns frightening because of their

abstraction.

For example, when we are shown an image of a puppy, we know that it is a puppy.

We know how to categorize it.

However, an image of a clown, is something alien that is challenging to place in a category

to many people.

Its abstraction makes it hard to pinpoint what it is or what is should represent.

Number Two: Childhood Trauma Childhood trauma is, perhaps, one of the main

reasons why people develop an irrational fear of clowns.

A bizarre experience may leave a degree emotional or psychological damage as we grow older and

clowns seem to take the top spot of childhood traumas.

In one story published in Psychology Today, a woman recounts her experience as a volunteer

on the Bozo the Clown TV show when she was a child.

She narrates that she was forced to sit on Bozo's lap where she can see that he was

frowning despite his painted smile.

Also, she recalls that Bozo smelled of alcohol.

Unable to know what she was supposed to do, she panicked and began to vomit all over Bozo

who began hurling curses in front of the already frightened child.

It was this experience that completely shattered the image of the happy clown in her head and,

from then on, related the experience to being near clowns.

It is highly likely that many adults have been in a similar situation - whether in birthday

parties or the circus – that planted the seed of their fear towards clowns.

Number One: The Uncanny What better way to top this list off than

with the father of modern psychiatry himself?

In 1919, Sigmund Freud published a paper called "The Uncanny".

In this paper, Freud explains that we can be easily frightened by something that is

familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

He uses the example of a body with a severed head or limbs saying that we will immediately

zero in on the body part or body parts that are different rather than the ones that are

still intact.

Putting it in the perspective of clowns, there is a degree of familiarity with a clown's

entire look.

A clown has human features: a pair of arms and legs, hands with fingers, nose, ears,

feet, et cetera.

However, despite his human features, a clown's anatomy tends to be exaggerated.

Depending on the clown, he or she may have large feet; a big, red nose; a pasty white

face; or a large mouth.

Similar to a child seeing an amputee, our attention tends to focus on the exaggerated.

A child may not understand why an amputee is missing certain limbs

and panic.

Translating it to a person's fear of clowns, people will notice the differences in a clown's

anatomy and become immediately uneasy or develop anxiety.

Overwatch LASER BAZOOKA Build! - Duration: 8:52.

hey guys on this episode of make it real we're going to be building Zarya's

particle cannon from the game overwatch

now we're super excited bout this project because it's the first make it

real project that we're really focusing on aesthetics we're going to make it

look exactly like it does in the game and it's going to work - now the big

question is how we're going to make it work? You can't exactly make it work

just like it does in the game I mean what is that even in the video game it

is a particle accelerator which we can't exactly build in our garage so instead

we're going to have to use a non-fictional technology something we

have right here in the shop as you guys know I've had a CNC laser cutter for a

few years now and I've actually had quite a few extra laser tubes which I've

been meaning to make a laser bazooka out of for the longest time I think this is

the first time I mentioned it over two years ago

so I ordered a few spare laser tubes for the laser cutter just in case one one goes and I'm not

dead in the water and I also ordered a pair so I'm going to build a laser

bazooka! This co2 laser is a class four industrial laser it's rated at 80 watts

which is over 80 thousand times as powerful as a standard laser pointer

because it's an infrared laser that means it's completely invisible to the

naked eye but that also means it's super efficient at cutting through things

anyway enough talking about it, let's show you what it can do!

all right so we've got all the components we need for buildings Zarya's

particle accelerator now we're actually powering the entire thing off of this

small lithium polymer battery but the power supply for the laser is AC so

we're actually going to be using this power inverter take DC to AC and then

this actually outputs up to 35,000 volts to the laser tube which causes the laser

to fire so even though this laser tube puts out 80 watts of laser power

it actually takes over 400 watts of input power from the power supply here

there's a lot of heat loss which means we actually have to water cool the

entire system and to do that we're using a frozen Q reservoir which is actually

used for computer water cooling systems but enough talking about it let's fire

up this laser but first a few words about safety, safety, safe and safeness

and we have Ian

alright let's plug everything in so 120 volts output to the high voltage power

supply and if you press this button here we have fire alright so as you can see

it's pretty powerful!

and you can use it to cook marshmallows!

okay come on Jordie you're above it you're above it, down! Too long, too long!!!

alright so once we have this project built I think it might actually be the

most powerful infrared handheld laser ever made at least by a hobbyist now if

you guys are big fans of laser projects I encourage you to check out a channel

called Styropyro he's the king of lasers on YouTube and he's actually made

a 200 watt laser shotgun using blue laser modules now from a numbers point

of view it might sound more powerful 200 watts versus 80 watts but because this

is 80 watts of infrared power I think it's actually more destructive but we'd

love to hear Styropyro's feedback on it in the comments below

anyways let's test it out!

Ok ready? 3... 2... 1...

all right so you guys may be wondering about our blatant disregard for laser

safety in this video so far well to be honest we had originally had this plan

to make this overcomplicated helmet where you actual looked through a camera lens

and see everything through a screen which is probably the safest thing you

can do but then we realized normal safety glasses actually absorb infrared

light as well which means they will protect your eyes but not for very long

let's take a look so I'm just going to flash the laser real quick to see if

the goggles protect from a quick reflection of infrared light all right

so as you can see the goggles are fine they're a little burned but at least the

balloon didn't pop now if you were to continue staring right at the laser

through your safety goggles you'd be in trouble let's see what happens working

pretty good that is working pretty good it would take over 10 seconds of staring

directly into this 80 watt laser tube before you burn your eyes out but that

being said we are actually going to order some proper laser grade safety

glasses which actually look quite like normal safety glasses right yes whoa

check that out so if you guys are interested in

learning more about safety goggles and their effective lasers check out this

video here by William Osman, it's awesome!

all right so the big question is how are we going to make this laser tube look

like Zarya's particle cannon, well I'm glad you asked!

so one of the hardest parts about doing a project like this is getting an

accurate 3d model of the actual gun luckily someone on Thingiverse has

already created one they were able to extract the game files from overwatch and

create an STL model of the entire gun which has over 30 individual pieces so

big thank you to kscannon for creating this file and releasing it to

the public on Thingiverse now the tricky part is all these STL files are

individual and we actually have to assemble them together into the complete

models of gun which is why STL files suck if this was actually made in

SolidWorks or something you'd actually have an assembly file and you'd be able

to mount all the files together using mating features whereas what we have to

do with meshmixer is actually placing all by hand which took us quite a few hours!

now that we have the gun assembled we can actually import the components that

we designed into the model now after we place our components inside the model we

can actually use a tool called boolean subtract to cut them out of the existing

files this is a rather processor hungry operation so it's a good thing we have

the origin PC to really chug through that data with all the parts modified we

can now export each STL file compare them to printing now speaking of

printing this is going to take a lot of plastic we initially did a few calculations

with the original models and Thingiverse and we found it's going to use over 17

kilograms of plastic and that's only at a 15% fill density that doesn't even

take into account how long it's going to take to print luckily we reached out to

Lulzbot and told them about the project and they were very happy to support us

they actually sent us 30 kilograms of petg plastic to use for this project in

in addition to sending us 30 kilograms of premium petg plastic they also sent

us a MOARstruder which can print out a layer height of up to one point

two millimeters normal 3d printer typically prints at around 0.25 which

means to print Zarya's particle cannon it would take over a thousand hours but

with a MOARstruder it would only take about 240 hours! In addition to that they also

sent us two more TAZ6's complete with MOARstruders which means we're

going to be able to print this entire thing in just a few days, we've already gotten started!

in the next build video we're hoping to finish this off and make it ready for

the first test all we have to do is finish 3d printing it

then we'll have to sand it painting add the electronics

probably do some more sanding, realize we use the wrong color sand it

again and assembling the gun and it'll be ready to the first test to see that

click here when it comes out but you know what we wouldn't even be able to do

this project it's not for an audience like you, YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!

Thanks for subscribing and stay tuned for the next video!

Stretches for Artists and Animators [Scribble Kibble #64] - Duration: 6:44.

Today's Scribble Kibble episode is all about how to stretch to avoid long term and short

term art injuries.

If you're an artist or animator, you spend hours every day doing small, repetitive motions

with your hands.

Over time, that constant repetition can damage the nerves and tendons in your hands and arms,

leading to problems like Tendonitis, Carpal Tunnel, and Arthritis.

If you already have one of these art injuries, one or more of these stretches will be painful.

That's okay.

Be slow and gentle but try to stretch enough that you feel the stretch.

The idea is to stretch the injured area so it can relax.

In general though, you shouldn't feel pain while you're stretching.

If you feel pain, you're pushing too far on that stretch and you should loosen up a

little bit.

For extreme pain, or pain that gets worse over time once you start a daily stretch routine,

stop stretching and see a doctor.

In this video I'm not going to hold all the stretches for as long as you should.

You should hold them for maybe about 10 seconds.

I have a separate video with just a stretch routine you can use to follow along if you

want to do it in real time.

Get in the habit of doing this at least once a day before you start working.

Hold arms out.

Face palms upwards.

Try to pull your palms back as far as you can.

Keep arms out.

Make regular fists.

Thumbs over your fingers.

Keep arms out.

Point fists down so you feel a stretch.

Hold out arms straight.

Keep your shoulders relaxed.

Tuck your thumbs in and grasp them with your fingers.

Now turn your fists down until you feel the stretch along here.

Hold.

Hold out arm, bend in hand, bend in fingers, push curved hand in toward arm.

You'll feel the stretch here.

Press hand upside down on wall, keeping your arm straight.

If you like, you can reach around with the other hand and pull the thumb up.

Finish up with finger stretches.

Stretch out your arm all the way, angled a bit toward the floor.

Slowly pull your index finger up as far as it can go without causing pain.

Hold for a few seconds.

Now try to wiggle the free fingers.

Be slow because if your joints aren't very loose the wiggling could hurt.

Relax.

Shake it out.

Repeat with

the rest of the fingers.

Pull fingers down one at a time.

If you're like me you may not feel this one as much.

Hold.

Wiggle free fingers.

Relax.

Shake it out.

Repeat with the rest of the fingers.

Pull thumb back.

Wiggle fingers.

Pull thumb in.

Wiggle fingers.

Spread the spaces between fingers with your other hand.

You don't need to hold these ones very long, just a second or two.

To finish, spread your fingers as far as you can.

Hold it.

Relax.

One more time.

These stretches, especially for your wrists and fingers, are very important for having

pain-free hands throughout your art career.

The stretches also work for musicians and gamers and pretty much anybody who works with

their hands a lot.

All of this is a bit much to memorize the first time around, so I have a separate video

with just the stretch routine if you'd like to follow along with that.

How to Train Your Dog to Drop It | CBC Life - Duration: 2:06.

Hi, I'm Danielle Hodges and this is Gordon

We're going to be working on the Drop It command today, so this is a really super important

command

We use this command when the dog has already picked something up and they have it in their

mouths

and we want them to let go of it

The trick to teaching drop it, is that you need to begin by reinforcing your dog as soon

as he let's go on his own

So I'm going to just show this to him, I'm going to let him have his mouth on it

And I'm not going to tug too much

The minute that he drops it on his own without even me asking

Then I'm just going to reinforce that

Oh, he really likes this one

Yes!

Good boy

So at this stage you can see I'm not yet using a cue, and I'm not trying to compete with

the treat, I'm just letting him drop it on his own

Hey, what's that?

Once he has it in his mouth, now I'm going to present a

Yes!

a treat on his nose

Now, when the dog is reliably opening his mouth, as soon as you present the treat, then

you add the drop it cue

Get it

Drop it!

Show him the treat

Yes, good boy!

And we do it again

Get it!

Come here buddy, come on

Good boy

Drop it

Yes!

Most dogs, once they start to get the hang of this they realize pretty quickly it's better

to drop the toy then to hold on to it

So what you want to see is as soon as you give that cue, drop it, they start to spit

out the toy and look for the treat

And that's when you know you're on the right track

Ok so that's the drop command from start to finish, make sure you practice this in settings

where your dog will be successful and just keep chipping away until you find success

See you on the next video!

Come on Gordo
