#TodaysStory es one of the most horrible ones that I've experienced.
It's 1:22 am and my neighbors have been playing music since around 6:00 pm,
so I apologize if you can hear it in the background, I'll try to edit it out.
Thanks to your votes on Twitter, you decided that the stories you like the most are horror stories.
So today I'll tell you #TodaysStory in a video.
This story happened when I moved from Guadalajara to Monterrey again.
And I moved to a house that was previously uninhabited.
ERROR #1 It was in theory a new house, but it was build a couple of years back, and no one had lived there before.
At the begining there wasn't anything weird, like any good horror movie.
but it wasn't a long time before things started happening...
At first it was only little things, like stuff moving from their place.
But not like when you can't find your keys and you think a leprechaun must have moved them.
With me in the room, a frame would fall over. Or a broom that was leaning on the wall would fall.
You might think, it could have been the wind, but it also happened that the same frame
which by the way was The Last Supper, not sure if this had anything to do with what happened...
was leaning on the wall, and there was another thing on top of the frame, so they were both pushing agains the wall.
and they stil fell over! Like someone had pushed them!
Like I've told you in other stories, I've lived in houses where weird things happen, but...
they just happen, it doesn't feel bad. I don't know how to explain the oppresive feeling that this house gave me.
Just going inside, you could feel like even the air was thicker. Sometimes I tried to go inside, enter the key,
and it just wouldn't go in. It wouldn't turn or unlock. Like if someone didn't want to let me in.
but if someone else tried, it would work without a problem.
One time I had to wait for about two hours before someone could help me open the door.
It was really weird, it felt like the lock had something stuck inside when I tried to turn the key,
but it was fine if someone else did it. The door would open without a problem.
I think there were three big things that happened in that house.
The first one actually happened on plain daylight. I think it was a Sunday.
I was in the room, and I was reading. I was laying on my stomach on the bed like I am now.
They were building nearby so it was normal that the whole house would shake.
I remember this clearly: I had a glass with water on a bedside table.
and...
at some point there was a slight tremor but I didn't pay much attention to it.
and suddenly the bed started shaking violently, but only the lower part.
and it didn't make sense that it was so localized, but as soon as I turned around, it stopped.
I looked over to the bedside table, and the water was not moving...
It literally felt like someone had grabbed the bed from the lower part and had shaked it violently, with anger.
The second thing that happened is the one that frightened me the most back then.
It was a night when I was already asleep. I had a cat back then.
She was not allowed inside the room. I always closed the door so she wouldn't come inside.
I was woken by something that sounded like scratching.
I woke up and started paying attention, and the scratching became very violent!
Like if the cat was scratching it really desperately, like she really wanted me to open the door for her.
I sat up. I was really scared, I had no idea why she was acting like that.
It was normal in that house that she ran about like she was chasing something.
Or that she became aggressive, hissing at the air with her hair sticking up.
and then... she was silent.
and suddenly, a loud bang agains the door. Bang! Bang! Bang!
And more scratching! And more banging! BANG! BANG! BANG!
And I was REALLY scared. It was like something was really trying to get into my room!
So I called someone, but when they arrived... there wasn't anything.
The cat was sleeping downstairs.
Like I said, the reason I was so afraid was because of the oppressive feeling the house gave me.
It felt like kind of a personal attack, because other people could not feel it.
There was a time that I thought I was going crazy.
I couldn't sleep.
For about a week, I would wake up every night. And because I wasn't sleeping I was very tired
and I started having some small hallucinations. Like the floor seemd to be moving and it was covered in worms!
And I think it was because I was really tired and maybe predisposed because of what was happening.
But I really thought I was going crazy. I wanted to go to a psycologist, or exorcist, or someone.
I was really scared, I was really tired. It was a situation that lasted about three months.
One of the biggest things that happened there, that thankfully I wasn't scared of because it felt different,
it happened with about six people in the house. It was night but we weren't even watching horror movies,
We were in the living room watching a movie, and I felt like I was being watched.
I turned to the kitchen, and I could see the window to the backyard from there.
And there was a shadow crossing but like really fast. I couldn't see who it was.
And the others went like "did you see that?" "who was that?"
So we all got up, ran to the backyard and saw that there wasn't anyone there.
The backyard had walls on both sides, and there wasn't anyone next door, so no one jumped over the walls.
We tried to recreate it with someone standing outside to see if it looked the same.
But with the light from the house we could see their face, and we realized that the shadow was VERY tall.
But like I said, I didn't feel scared of this shadow. From that moment on,
and when some people went to do some rituals cause I didn't know what else to do.
Things stopped happening. With crosses and holy water, and vibration or sound alignment,
I don't even remember what they did, things stopped happening.
And also, the cat left.
I didn't know this until many years later, but a friend told me that cats can kind of sense these bad energies.
and that probably I wasn't afraid of the shadow because it was the cat's ally.
And that she brought it to take away whatever it was that was in the house scaring me.
So as a form of payment, the cat had to leave with that shadow.
And she never came back. But also, nothing else happened in that house.
Some time later I moved and never went back. But I was a little traumatized.
Before that I used to love horror stuff. If someone had made a poll I would have voted Horror just like you did.
But after that I didn't want to anymore, and I don't like horror stuff anymore.
So I'm only making this video for you guys. For a long time I didn't talk about it.
because I was really scared. I felt like talking about it was like giving it more power.
It really scared me and I wanted to avoid it.
It's been several years since then, I still don't like scary things. I became very fearful.
I never had an issue with being by myself. Now if I'm alone someplace I don't know, I do get a bit scared,
When I travel for events, even at the hotel I can't sleep with all the lights out. I leave the bathroom light on.
Not even at home can I go through in the darkness, when previously I'd sail through life without light.
But I don't like it anymore...
This was #TodaysStory. The format will not change, it will not always be a video like today,
But once in a while they will be videos.
Don't miss out on the daily story from Monday through Friday on Twitter. (@mintplosion)
And sometimes on weekends I'll get a video out like today.
So what did you think about this format? Do you like the idea of it being a video once in a while?
And if you've had any supernatural or horror experiences that you want to tell us about,
I'd like to tell you not to tell me cause I'll get scared, but if you leave it down below
I promise to read them even if I suffer.
This is it for today. Mariam out.
