Waching daily Sep 12 2017

yoyoyo CPA strength here you know who it is I'm a strongest licensed CPA in the

state of Florida and what do I do I teach the world over accounting by

building block building block building block by basics you know what it is a

hey if you don't know what it is check out this playlist over here

because it happens to be the best playlist in the whole entire world and

make all your dreams just take the pledge hit the playlist man come on look

what look what number this is you happen to be one of those lucky people in the

world to see my classic series this is my classic series man this is number 84

of my classic series this is depreciation we're gonna do a

depreciation expense at the end of the year 1231 15 this is I know this is our

journal entry per month making this our twelve yes this is our 12th because this

is a twelfth month our twelfth journal entry of our widgets Inc we've gone a

whole year so now we're gonna do that and this adjusting entry we might do

more adjusting entries all right I want to show you this is the VCL or this is

why I'm pretty popular James Bond right Charlie's Angels whoo

obi-wan Kenobi glowsticks no DC blur Democrat I said draw expense liability

equity revenue this is what I'm known for this is this has helpful tons and

tons and tons of people anyways I don't want to stick too much on this

depreciation it's a depreciation journal entry I've

done I think three or four depreciation journal entries I've done a whole

separate video on accumulated depreciation and how it's a contra asset

probably if you don't understand this journal entry you might want to go back

to an older video to understand a difference

and journal entry or you can watch this but no I have other ones about that this

is going to be I like I like how our journal entries affect our chart of

account or general ledger or balance sheet our income statement that's kind

of where I think this this particular widget Inc is kind of what I'm trying to

focus more on so anyways let's go to this journal entry 12:30 1:15 last day

of the year budget incorporated makes a depreciation journal entry for $800 and

adjusting and just an entry so would that be well I mean we figured out it

was $800 now I think what is important on that that is we took I took us

straight we took a straight line because we only made $3,200 of profit this year

in our business you'll see us our last

well you know what we just took straight line we didn't want to take accelerated

depreciation because we didn't need more expense and you'll see because because

we only made $3,200 so we're not gonna have to pay much taxes right now or

hardly or any taxes the way it's gonna work out we're not any taxes so why

would we want to take more expenses when we already don't have to pay taxes now

we're gonna work so we don't want sometimes that's not the case and you

would want to take accelerated depreciation more expenses now that's

not our case because we were hoping to have safe use our if we use all our

expense up now on this depreciation expense excuse me we wouldn't have any

for we wouldn't have your depreciation expense four percent next year but next

year we're hoping to have a nice sizable profit so say we make forty fifty

thousand dollars next year and we don't take much depreciate much depreciation

this year we still have some depreciation for next for the year that

we we have with a made forty or fifty thousand dollars so it can actually

that depreciation expense could actually benefit you hope that made sense that

concept right there took me a couple years to actually kind of figure out so

don't worry if you're like wow anyways and this is a great part of the online

learning no one knows if you're sitting over there going I don't know what's

going on so I love you online learning anyways how do you do a depreciation

entry for $800 I have to move fast off this board since I talk too much

well we know depreciation its depreciation expense and then that's a

debit expenses are debit in positive form then this is a weird one the credit

for depreciation expense is a weird one it's accumulated depreciation it's a

contrast and I've gone over it before so that's gonna be the credit accumulated

depreciation 800 it's a contra asset let's see so it's kind of it's going

down so it's a C it's a contra asset because I'd normal asset has a positive

debit and this is a contra asset because it has a positive credit it's kind of

weird but anyways that's the credit the damaged depreciation expense 800 dollars

and it's an expense so as you can see NDC you learn expense going up as a

debit and that's the journal entry let's go to the next board

yoyoyo I think you can see me only for tune going too soon one are you eight

all right what do we do in chart of accounts we added two new accounts we

had depreciation expense and accumulated depreciation so it was the last journal

entry of the year and we did not have depreciation yet on our books is our

first year in so we had to add chart of accounts it is an asset to contrast that

but we'll go under the assets and chart of accounts as an asset I change the

reason of all assets over there right and under expenses we got a depreciation

expense so we added two new accounts we did our turn on tree nor in our chart of

accounts have we had two new account souls let's

click inside of each account let's click inside depreciation expense on 1231 we

have $800 let's go up here to accumulate depreciation click inside there and

let's get the accumulative preciate in here at 1231 15 it's $800 so both these

accounts are brand new fresh there exercise is the debit is the credit when

they're both at $800 now good I have got a couple minutes well I go to the

balance sheet income statement alright hopefully here we can talk here

what I'm saying long hair don't care right hopefully yo right hopefully we're

going to talk about the balance sheet the income statement right here for a

couple of minutes all right yeah all right all about depreciation

depreciation expense how it affects the income statement in the balance sheet

now this is an adjusting entry you might have more entries at 1231 15 typical to

have what's going on okay everything's good typical to have a couple of dusting

entries so see what two accounts did we mess with we master the depreciation

expense which is an expense of $800 and we did accumulated depreciation which is

a contra asset of $800 we'll get to that secondly let's go over to what to

pressure our depreciation expense journal entry did to our income

statement now this is the last day of the year here so let's look at that

period the whole year 1 115 is 12 31 15 the whole year period through the whole

year we ended up with 22,000 of widget service and 18,800 dollars of expenses

but comprised of $800 of the depreciation expense that we just did oh

man I should have Isaac as you can plainly see see we did not use the

checking account this is one of this is an adjusting entry which we do we're not

using the checking account we you said when we bought the truck though

right now we're kind of reducing what the trucks worth but we're gonna get to

that in a second so this is what happened and you are our

journal entry affected income statement and affected the balance sheet in this

occasion which happens quite often a lot of times you have an expense and in

something in the checking accounts you have an expense and asset Haley's 20 mm

- eighteen thousand eight hundred is 3200 net income see well so anyways the

net income from the income statement flows over to the net income to the

balance sheet and under the equity so a balance sheet is assets equal

liabilities plus equity look our liabilities didn't change our equity did

change our equity reduced by eight hundred dollars in the way of net income

because our net income reduced by $800 because of our depreciation expense

because we hadn't it added expense so if assets equal liabilities plus

equity and our equity's been reduced because their net income has been

reduced so liabilities and equities have been reduced what's going on with the

assets well the assets have been reduced as well with the accumulated

depreciation it's been reduced by eight hundred dollars and see the truck is now

worth thirty two hundred dollars and our assets are fifteen thousand two hundred

dollars which equals fifteen thousand two hundred hours liability equity all

right a couple minutes good good good um so let's talk about why we do the

journal entries the way we do or why I think we do it we've made one journal

entry with the truck before when we first purchased it when we messed with

the truck in the checking account but that's for four thousand dollars so now

this is the way the balance sheets filled up checking account twelve

thousand truck or whatever asset four four

and your Kili depreciation of whatever fixed asset for a certain amount we have

$800 and then it's going to show you what what the truck what the fixed asset

is worth now currently 3200 in our case what I'm looking at the one I'm just

glancing over the balance sheet real quick it's nice it's gonna have a

section I don't really have the room I'm sorry for all sex but I don't want to

differentiate either that much but on a balance sheet they're gonna have look at

a balance sheet in your books or Google one for fixed fixed assets this is what

the truck is and that's what you would depreciate a fixed asset I mean you

don't appreciate everything you depreciate fixed assets okay you would

notice looking at the balance sheet you would notice okay they bought this for

$4,000 they bought this truck for $4,000 it's been depreciated for $800 it has

it's worth $3,200 more on the balance sheet you know you could see and you are

you I would leave this on the balance sheet like after it's fully depreciated

I would still leave it on there so it kind of tells a lot I tells it tells

pretty much what it was purchased for ah how much depreciation has been taken and

then I guess you know how what it's worth on the books currently and it

tells you that by how we do the journal entries and as you can see accumulated

depreciation is a contra asset because it's up with the assets but it's contra

because it's subtracted from the asset so it's kind of weird but I think you

know all the journal entries of depreciation expense and accumulated

depreciation credit how much time do I got oh my god I'm almost running out of

time okay I'm doing great

well I'm doing really good trying to be positive and it's really weird things

are just following in my lap and there's nothing I enjoy more than the

you to process like I love the YouTube process of learning so much about myself

feeling a little lost before I found the YouTube anyways I just feel really

fulfilled doing these videos I have different people tell me like how proud

they're like family members telling me how proud they are like my aunt

I just got text message you know for my aunt yesterday from Texas and she was

like hey man we're so proud of you you know she said hey John hey man I'm so

proud of you and so just means a lot you know yeah and I wouldn't be I'll take

that compliment as well until I've been learning on the youtubes that to take

the compliment along with the Hayden

5 Steps to Plan Your Small Business Marketing Video! - Duration: 6:29.

I'm going to give you my five steps to plan your marketing video. Keep watching.

I'm Tricia Clements, Chief Fur Wrangler at MuttButs.com.

I want to talk to you about five things that you need to do

When you plan your video for your business.

Number one, I've talked about this in the most recent video

Where I gave you all kinds of different tips for your equipment

but the first thing is when you plan your video make sure that you have an end goal in mind.

That's really important because everything else from your video

Is going to center around what your end goal is for your video.

When you're coming up with your goal for the video

It could be something like send them to purchase a product or service

Or it could be to increase your email list

So that could be a sign up for them.

It could also be simply to get more information

To have them follow you on social media channels.

Just decide what you want that end goal to be so that you can focus on that for your video.

The second thing that you want to do is solve a problem.

That's what our businesses and services do

They solve a problem and it may be a problem

That may not be too glamorous or it may be something as simple.

However, it is-- your products and your services are a solution for someone else's problem.

Figure out what that problem is and how your services or products solve that problem

And focus on that when you're talking in your marketing videos.

Now that you have your one goal for your video

And you also have your problem that you're solving

You want to go in and find keywords.

That's my third item is keywords.

You can use Google keyword planner for that and you want to make sure

That when you do your keywords you come up with ones

That maybe are not really high competition

because, again, you want to get the low hanging fruit.

You're not going to be out there competing with huge, large businesses.

Look at the keywords, and they can also be phrases, look how people would search.

Think of how you might search if you were looking for the product or service

That you are selling or if you have the problem

That you're solving think about how you would phrase that

Come up with your keyword and those keywords

Make sure you put them in your title of your video, really important.

My fourth step to planning your marketing video is to simply get on with it.

The first six seconds of your video is crucial

Because that's the time frame that your potential customers

Clients are going to at that point either say I want to continue watching or stop.

Six seconds, that's the time point that they say I'm bored

And move on or continue and watch what you have to say.

In that first six seconds make sure you tell them what your video is going to be out

What they're going to learn, what they're going to get out of it, why they need to stay.

Sometimes you can even do something like a joke or something funny at the beginning

To pull them in and grab their attention and then quickly tell them

What you're going to be talking about. The first six seconds, it's crucial.

The fifth step for planning your marketing video is related to the first step.

The first step was to have a goal, what do you want your viewers to do?

The fifth item is how you want them to take action

Getting them to actually take action, and that is done by asking for it.

If you want them to sign up for your email list maybe you say

I have a freebie for you to download and click on that

And they will go there and get on your email list.

The other thing is maybe you have a product that you are selling

And you want to send them to a landing page.

Send them to that landing page you can also have a video on there

A marketing video, so that they get to know you much better.

You want to have, with your goal, how you want them to take action.

That's the last thing, you ask them to take action.

Now you have my five steps to planning your marketing video.

First is, have a goal, a goal.

A video should not be all day long

You have one goal that you want them to do in that one video.

Second item is to solve a problem

Figure out what problem it is you're solving

You're going to have keywords, you're going to mention those keywords in your title.

Don't forget to get on with it, make sure

That you are direct and to the point of what your video is going to give them

What they're going to get out of it in the first six seconds so that they continue watching

Then, of course, you want them to take action.

The last step is to have a plan that has them take action at the end.

Now it's time for you to take action, go ahead

And click on the link below and download your list to help you plan your marketing video.

I have examples for you and it is all laid out so that you can write those down

And work on your marketing video.

Lyman, Donetsk oblast

I am from Lyman. It is my native town.

We suffered from war for some time.

Now everything is okay, I hope it will remain like this.

People think that young people lack initiative and that they are not interested

in promoting positive change in our country.

With the creation of Altanka opinion about our young people will change,

because they take initiative, are very active and

you don't need to ask them for help.

They will always come they feel it.

In our city, like in any small town, there are no philharmonics or theatres,

and young people have no place to spend their time.

Organizations such as this youth platform are necessary.

Children can express themselves here, and young people can receive help.

An informal atmosphere of Altanka do not force any events on young people.

We want to help as much as possible.

I am personally very happy that Altanka platform was opened.

Every week we have workshops as well as English language lessons.

We want to change things to the better in our world, in our small town.

Everything starts from small things. When we unite we can do everything.

It is positive to give part of yourself.

We really feel positive things done by them. They are really good!

Altanka for me means to dream, to create, to implement.

Unshakeable Trust - Part 1 - Enjoying Everyday Life - Duration: 28:33.

ANNOUNCER: THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM

IS PAID FOR BY THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS

OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.

[MUSIC]

JOYCE: AMEN, AMEN.

WELL, HOW MANY OF YOU ARE GOING THROUGH SOMETHING

PRETTY DIFFICULT RIGHT NOW IN YOUR LIFE, SOMETHING THAT YOU

ARE REALLY NEEDING TO TRUST GOD ABOUT, AMEN?

YOU KNOW, WE TRUST GOD FOR THINGS THAT WE WANT,

WHICH WE ALL DO.

BUT WE ALSO TRUST GOD WHEN WE'RE GOING THROUGH THINGS, AND IT'S

THAT TRUSTING HIM THAT ALLOWS US TO GO AHEAD AND ENJOY OUR LIVES

EVEN WHILE WE DON'T YET HAVE EVERYTHING THAT WE WOULD LIKE

TO HAVE.

SEE, PART OF THE BEAUTY OF BEING A BELIEVER IS THAT YOU CAN HAVE

A PROBLEM AND STILL ENJOY YOUR LIFE.

YOU CAN HAVE A PROBLEM AND STILL HAVE PEACE.

JESUS SAID, "MY PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU, NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES

DO I GIVE UNTO YOU, BUT MY OWN SPECIAL PEACE

I GIVE TO YOU."

AND THEN HE SAYS, "SO, STOP ALLOWING YOURSELVES

TO BE UPSET AND DISTURBED."

WELL, HE HAS A RESPONSIBILITY AND WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY.

I'M RELEASING A BOOK THIS FALL CALLED "UNSHAKEABLE TRUST."

THE MATERIAL IN IT'S GREAT, BUT IF NOTHING ELSE,

YOU'LL GET A NICE PICTURE OF ME ON THE FRONT, SO THAT'S

A GOOD REASON TO GET IT.

AND YOU KNOW, READING IS SO GOOD.

HOW MANY OF YOU TRY TO DO A LITTLE BIT OF READING

ON A REGULAR BASIS?

YOU KNOW, I'VE BEEN ENCOURAGING PEOPLE, EVEN IF YOU JUST TAKE

30 MINUTES A DAY AND READ, YOU'LL BE AMAZED

HOW MUCH YOU WILL LEARN OVER A ONE-YEAR PERIOD OF TIME.

AND IT DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE SOMETHING BRAND NEW

THAT YOU'RE LEARNING.

A LOT OF TIMES, IT CAN JUST BE BEING REFRESHED IN SOMETHING

THAT YOU ALREADY KNOW.

I'M SURE THAT TODAY IS NOT GOING TO BE THE FIRST MESSAGE

THAT YOU'VE EVER HEARD ON TRUSTING GOD, BUT THAT

DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE DON'T NEED TO HEAR IT AGAIN, AND AGAIN,

AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN.

AND I ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE, "IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR

WHAT I HAVE TO SAY TODAY, I'LL BE HAPPY TO TALK TO MYSELF

BECAUSE I NEED ALL OF IT ON A REGULAR BASIS."

AMEN?

SO, THERE'S LOTS OF GOOD THINGS IN HERE, AND I BELIEVE

THAT YOU'LL REALLY ENJOY THE BOOK, AND SO WE'RE GOING

TO GET STARTED.

1 PETER CHAPTER 2, VERSE 23.

I ACTUALLY HAVE THIS SCRIPTURE ON A SIGN, AND IT'S HANGING

ON MY OFFICE WALL, THAT'S HOW MUCH I LIKE IT.

"WHEN HE WAS REVILED AND INSULTED, HE DID NOT REVILE

OR OFFER INSULT IN RETURN.

[WHEN] HE WAS ABUSED AND SUFFERED, HE MADE NO THREATS

[OF VENGEANCE], BUT HE TRUSTED HIMSELF AND EVERYTHING TO HIM

WHO JUDGES FAIRLY."

JUST IMAGINE HOW AMAZING LIFE WOULD BE IF WE COULD TRUST GOD

ALL THE TIME IN EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME IN EVERYTHING.

WELL, JESUS WAS PROBABLY MISTREATED MORE THAN ANY PERSON

ON EARTH HAS EVER BEEN MISTREATED, AND YET, HE DIDN'T

REALLY TROUBLE HIMSELF ABOUT IT BECAUSE HE TRUSTED GOD TO BE

HIS VINDICATOR AND TO BRING JUSTICE IN HIS LIFE.

ONE OF THE CHARACTER TRAITS ABOUT GOD THAT I LOVE THE MOST

IS THAT THE BIBLE SAYS HE IS A GOD OF JUSTICE.

YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?

HE MAKES EVERY WRONG THING RIGHT.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN MISTREATED BY SOMEBODY?

EVER BEEN--OH, MAYBE YOU'RE WORKING REAL HARD AT WORK,

BUT YOU'RE THE ONE THAT ALWAYS GETS LOOKED OVER

FOR THE PROMOTION.

YOU DON'T GET THE PAY RAISES THAT YOU SHOULD GET, AND MAYBE

SOMEBODY ELSE THAT'S NOT WORKING NEARLY AS HARD AS YOU SEEMS

TO GET ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU FEEL LIKE YOU DESERVE.

HAS THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ANYBODY?

NO? IT HAPPENED TO ME.

YOU KNOW WHAT?

THOSE ARE THE GREAT TIMES TO SAY, "GOD, I'M GOING TO TRUST

YOU TO BE MY VINDICATOR."

IF WE CAN TRUST GOD TO GIVE TO US WHAT HE WANTS US TO HAVE,

INSTEAD OF LOOKING TO PEOPLE TO GIVE US WHAT WE WANT, LIFE

IS GOING TO GET A LOT BETTER.

IF YOU'VE GOT YOUR EYES ON SOMEBODY ELSE AND YOU'RE

EXPECTING THEM TO GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT, YOU NEED TO GET THEM

OFF THAT PERSON, THEN YOU NEED TO GET THEM ON GOD.

AMEN?

BECAUSE GOD IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN GIVE US TRUE PROMOTION

IN OUR LIVES.

"WHEN HE WAS REVILED AND INSULTED, HE DID NOT REVILE

OR OFFER INSULT IN RETURN."

WHEN HE WAS MISTREATED, WHEN HE WAS ABUSED, WHEN PEOPLE TREATED

HIM WRONG, INSTEAD OF GETTING

ALL UPSET, AND TRYING TO GET THEM BACK, AND MAKING HIS OWN

PLAN ABOUT HOW HE WAS GOING TO HANDLE THINGS, HE TRUSTED

HIMSELF AND EVERYTHING TO HIM WHO JUDGES FAIRLY.

NOW, IF YOU WATCH MY TV PROGRAM OR IF YOU'VE READ MANY

OF MY BOOKS OR ANY OF MY BOOKS, YOU KNOW THAT I WAS ABUSED

BY MY DAD WHEN I WAS A CHILD.

AND ALTHOUGH MY MOTHER KNEW ABOUT IT BECAUSE ONE TIME SHE

CAUGHT HIM, ONE TIME I TOLD HER, SHE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT

BECAUSE SHE LIVED IN ABSOLUTE FEAR.

SO, I WAS ABUSED BY MY DAD, ABANDONED BY MY MOTHER,

AND REALLY, REALLY MISTREATED IN THE EARLY YEARS OF MY LIFE.

NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE KINDS OF THINGS

THAT MANY OF US DO GO THROUGH

IN OUR LIVES.

AND I MARRIED THE FIRST GUY THAT CAME ALONG BECAUSE I

THOUGHT NOBODY WOULD EVER WANT ME, AND THEN HE RAN AROUND

WITH OTHER WOMEN, AND HE WAS A PETTY THIEF, AND SO

THE FIRST 23 YEARS OF MY LIFE, I DIDN'T KNOW MUCH BUT PAIN

AND MISTREATMENT.

WELL, I CAME OUT OF THAT BITTER, AND RESENTFUL, AND BLAMING.

AND ALTHOUGH I WAS A CHRISTIAN, YOU KNOW, YOU CAN BE A CHRISTIAN

AND STILL HAVE ALL THOSE BAD ATTITUDES AND ALL THOSE THINGS

ROLLING AROUND IN YOU THAT DON'T NEED

TO BE ROLLING AROUND IN YOU.

SO, WE DON'T WANT TO JUST TRUST GOD TO GO TO HEAVEN SOMEDAY

WHEN WE DIE.

CHRISTIANITY IS ABOUT A LOT MORE THAN THAT.

WE WANT TO TRUST GOD FOR EVERYTHING IN OUR LIVES,

ALL THE TIME.

AMEN?

TRUST HIM FOR EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME.

AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE WANT TO TRUST GOD FOR IS TO BE

OUR VINDICATOR, TO TAKE WRONG THINGS AND MAKE THEM RIGHT.

WELL, WHEN I FINALLY FOUND THAT OUT AND I STARTED REALLY

TRUSTING GOD TO VINDICATE ME, I DON'T HAVE TIME TO TELL YOU ALL

THE STORIES, BUT IT'S AMAZING THE THINGS THAT GOD HAS DONE

FOR ME IN MY LIFE, AND THE POSITIONS THAT HE

HAS PUT ME IN, THE INFLUENCE HE HAS ALLOWED ME TO HAVE.

AND I KNOW THAT I KNOW THAT ONLY GOD COULD DO IT.

AND I'LL TELL YOU, IF YOU WILL--NOW, LISTEN

TO WHAT I'M GOING TO SAY.

IF YOU WILL STOP TRYING SO HARD TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF,

AND STOP TRYING SO HARD TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET

WHAT'S DUE YOU, AND STOP BEING MAD AT EVERYBODY

WHO'S NOT GIVING YOU WHAT YOU WANT, AND YOU GIVE GOD A CHANCE,

YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT WHAT GOD WILL DO IN YOUR LIFE.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, GOD CAN GIVE YOU FAVOR AND PUT YOU

PLACES WHERE NO MAN CAN EVER PUT YOU AND WHERE YOU

CERTAINLY COULD NOT PUT YOU.

RIGHT?

SO, ANY TIME THAT SOMEBODY MISTREATS YOU, THE FIRST THING

YOU WANT TO DO IS SAY, "GOD, I REFUSE TO BE MAD AT THEM BECAUSE

THAT'S ONLY GOING TO STEAL MY LIFE, BUT I AM GOING TO TRUST

YOU TO BRING JUSTICE INTO MY LIFE."

IN ISAIAH 61, VERSES 7 AND 8,

SOME OF THE SCRIPTURES THAT I HELD ON TO FOR MANY YEARS,

IT REALLY BROUGHT ME THROUGH A LOT OF THE THINGS THAT I

WENT THROUGH.

"INSTEAD OF YOUR [FORMER] SHAME, YOU'LL HAVE A TWOFOLD REWARD.

INSTEAD OF DISHONOR AND REPROACH, YOUR PEOPLE

SHALL REJOICE IN THEIR PORTION.

THEREFORE, IN THEIR LAND THEY SHALL POSSESS DOUBLE [WHAT THEY

FORFEITED] AND EVERLASTING JOY SHALL BE THEIRS."

YOU KNOW, WHEN THE ENEMY COMES AGAINST YOU ONE WAY, THE BIBLE

SAYS HE HAS TO FLEE BEFORE YOU SEVEN WAYS.

WHAT MAN TAKES AWAY FROM YOU, GOD WILL GIVE YOU BACK DOUBLE

AND MORE IF YOU PUT YOUR TRUST IN HIM.

IS THERE ANYBODY IN THE BUILDING TODAY THAT WOULD LIKE TO HAVE

DOUBLE FOR YOUR TROUBLE?

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: GOD IS A REWARDER.

HE'S NOT A PUNISHER.

GOD IS A REWARDER, THE REWARDER OF THOSE WHO DILIGENTLY

SEEK HIM.

SO, WHEN YOU GET YOUR EYES OFF OF WHAT EVERYBODY HAS DONE

TO YOU AND YOU GET YOUR EYES ON WHAT GOD CAN DO FOR YOU, HE

BECOMES YOUR REWARDER, AND YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT ALL THE THINGS

THAT GOD WILL DO FOR YOU.

GOD HAS--HE'S GIVEN ME A POSITION, MANY TIMES,

IN THE MIDST OF MEN.

I WAS THE FIRST AND THE ONLY WOMAN THAT EVER SAT ON THE BOARD

OF OUR CHURCH, AND THIS WAS WHEN I WAS IN A LARGE DENOMINATIONAL

CHURCH WHERE WOMEN DIDN'T REALLY DO THOSE KINDS OF THINGS.

AND I FOUND THAT OVER AND OVER IN MY LIFE, I'LL BE DOING

THESE THINGS WHERE I'M THE ONLY WOMAN DOING IT,

AND I ASKED GOD ONE TIME, "HOW DO I END UP

IN THESE POSITIONS ALL THE TIME?"

AND YOU KNOW WHAT HE PUT IN MY HEART?

"MEN ABUSED YOU, AND I WILL ALWAYS GIVE YOU A PLACE OF HONOR

AMONG MEN."

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AND SEE, I'M GLAD YOU'RE HAPPY FOR ME, BUT I WANT

THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN TO YOU.

I'M NOT HERE TODAY JUST TO TELL YOU MY GREAT STORY OF SUCCESS,

BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS.

AND WHAT HE DOES FOR ONE PERSON, HE WILL DO FOR ANOTHER,

BUT IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN IF WE DON'T TRUST HIM.

TRUST HIM.

AND TRUSTING GOD MEANS THAT WE STOP TRYING TO MAKE THINGS

HAPPEN OURSELVES AND WE WAIT ON GOD.

HOW MANY LOVE WAITING?

WE WAIT ON GOD, IT'S A PAINFUL WORD EVEN TO SAY IT.

AND GOD DOESN'T DO IT WHEN WE'D LIKE HIM TO OR THE WAY WE'D LIKE

HIM TO, BUT I CAN PROMISE YOU TODAY IF YOU WILL KEEP YOUR EYES

ON GOD AND TRUST HIM TO BE YOUR RECOMPENSE,

AND TO BE YOUR REWARD, AND TO BE YOUR VINDICATOR,

YOU WILL BE GET DOUBLE BLESSINGS FOR YOUR FORMER TROUBLE.

AMEN?

HOW MANY OF YOU FEEL LIKE THAT--LET'S PUT IT LIKE THIS.

YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU'VE BEEN HURT, THERE'S A FEELING THERE THAT,

"WELL, SOMEBODY OWES ME.

I'M DUE SOMETHING.

I WANT TO BE PAID BACK."

YOU EVER FELT THAT?

IT'S LIKE--AND SO, IF WE'RE NOT CAREFUL, WE CAN GO THROUGH LIFE

WITH THIS LITTLE CHIP ON OUR SHOULDER.

YOU'RE LIKE, "WELL, THE WORLD OWES ME SOMETHING."

BUT THE THING THAT WE DO THAT IS A MISTAKE MANY TIMES IS

WE'RE TRYING TO COLLECT FROM PEOPLE THAT CAN'T PAY US.

I DID THAT FOR A LONG TIME.

BECAUSE MEN HAD MISTREATED ME, I WAS TRYING TO COLLECT

FROM ALL THE REST OF THE MEN IN THE WORLD.

AND SO, I HAD AN ATTITUDE TOWARD MEN THAT WASN'T HEALTHY.

AND EVEN WHEN DAVE AND I GOT MARRIED, AND HE WAS A WONDERFUL

HUSBAND, I HAD BEEN HURT BY SO MANY MEN THAT I JUST HAD

AN ATTITUDE, AND I WAS TRYING

TO GET DAVE TO PAY ME BACK FOR WHAT SOMEBODY ELSE

HAD TAKEN AWAY FROM ME.

AND MATTHEW 18 SAYS THAT WHEN THE GUY WAS TRYING TO GET

THE PERSON WHO OWED THEM THE MONEY TO PAY HIM BACK,

THE BIBLE SAYS, "AND HE COULD NOT PAY.

AND HE COULD NOT PAY."

AND BOY, WHEN I GOT AHOLD OF THAT, I THOUGHT,

"PEOPLE CAN'T PAY ME BACK.

NOBODY CAN PAY ME BACK FOR THE CHILDHOOD

THAT MY FATHER STOLE FROM ME.

I CAN NEVER GO BACK AND DO THAT CHILDHOOD OVER."

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT?

GOD CAN MAKE ME HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL LIFE IN MY 40S,

AND 50S, AND 60S, AND 70S WHERE I'M AT NOW.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: IS ANYBODY HERE READY TO LET GOD PAY YOU BACK?

ALL RIGHT, WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT?

THEN YOU HAVE TO DO THINGS GOD'S WAY AND NOT MAN'S WAY.

LISTEN TO THIS SCRIPTURE, PSALM 147:3, "HE HEALS

THE BROKENHEARTED AND HE BINDS UP THEIR WOUNDS, CURING

THEIR PAINS AND THEIR SORROWS."

YOU KNOW, BROKEN HEARTS DO MEND, BODIES DO HEAL, DISAPPOINTMENT

TURNS INTO NEW DREAMS, AND THE END OF ONE THING

CAN OPEN THE DOOR FOR SOMETHING NEW IF WE

WILL JUST PUT OUR TRUST IN GOD.

YOU KNOW WHAT?

IF YOU'RE STILL HERE ON THE PLANET, GOD'S GOT A PLAN

FOR YOU.

I SAID IF YOU'RE STILL HERE, YOU'RE BREATHING,

GOD'S GOT A PLAN FOR YOU.

HE'S NOT FINISHED WITH YOU YET.

NOW, MANY OF YOU GO TO THIS CHURCH, AND SO YOU KNOW

PASTOR CHARLES, OF COURSE.

WELL, AMEN.

I CAN TELL YOU GUYS REALLY LOVE HIM, AND SO THAT TELLS ME

THAT HE'S PRETTY GOOD AT WHAT HE'S DOING, AMEN?

AND I KNOW FROM PERSONAL CONVERSATIONS HOW COMMITTED HE

IS TO THIS CHURCH AND JUST HOW MEANINGFUL IT IS TO HIM.

AND I'VE HAD THE BLESSING OF KNOWING HIM FOR A FEW YEARS.

WE DON'T GET TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME TOGETHER, BUT I

DO KNOW HIM TO SOME DEGREE.

AND I WAS AROUND WHEN THE TERRIBLE TRAGEDY HAPPENED

WHERE HIS BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WIFE DIED WITH CANCER.

AND I ASKED HIM IF IT WAS ALL RIGHT FOR ME TO TALK ABOUT

THIS A LITTLE BIT, AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS BECAUSE HE SAID

SOMETHING TO ME AFTER THAT HAPPENED THAT I

THOUGHT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

AND I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE SOMETHING THAT YOU THINK ABOUT

AS WE GO THROUGH THIS MESSAGE TODAY.

SHE WAS--WHAT HAPPENED TO HER SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.

YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FIND A REASON FOR THAT.

YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FIND A PLACE TO PUT IT IN SOME NEAT

LITTLE PACKAGE WHERE WE CAN ALL UNDERSTAND IT

AND FEEL OKAY ABOUT IT.

IT JUST WAS A TERRIBLE THING.

SHE WAS A WOMAN OF FAITH, A GODLY WOMAN,

HELPING OTHER PEOPLE.

THEY'RE PASTORING A CHURCH, SHE GETS SICK, EVERYBODY PRAYS

EXPECTING MIRACLES, AND GOD TAKES HER HOME.

BY THE WAY, I DO WANT TO TELL YOU THAT SHE IS HEALED TODAY

BECAUSE THE MINUTE THAT YOU PASS INTO HEAVEN--I'VE BEEN THINKING

ABOUT THAT A LOT LATELY.

AND, YOU KNOW, SO OFTEN WHEN WE PRAY FOR HEALING AND WE

DON'T GET IT, OR WE PRAY FOR SOMEBODY ELSE TO BE HEALED

AND THEY DON'T GET IT, THAT'S REALLY NOT ACCURATE.

THEY DO GET IT.

THEY DO, BECAUSE THE MINUTE THAT YOU PASS FROM HERE

TO YOUR HEAVENLY HOME, EVERYTHING IS MADE PERFECT.

IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE, IN A MOMENT,

EVERYTHING IS MADE PERFECT.

AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS THE BEST THAT I HAVE EVER LOOKED

OR THE BEST CONDITION I'VE EVER BEEN IN, BUT WHATEVER IT IS,

THAT'S THE WAY I'M GOING TO LIVE FOR ETERNITY WHEN I GET

TO HEAVEN.

NO WRINKLES, NO FAT, NO CELLULITE, NOTHING LIKE THAT.

IT'S ALL JUST GOING TO BE GOOD STUFF, AMEN?

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: WON'T IT BE NICE, LADIES?

WE DON'T HAVE TO BE ON A DIET AND COUNT CALORIES IN HEAVEN.

I'M SURE THE FOOD THERE IS GOING TO HAVE NO CALORIES

IN IT AND BE VERY GOOD.

BUT HE SAID TO ME-- AND I CAN'T IMAGINE THE PAIN

OF WHAT HE AND HIS FAMILY WENT THROUGH

AND EVEN THE CHURCH HERE.

YOU KNOW, IT'S ONE THING TO TRUST GOD IN THE LIGHT,

IT'S ANOTHER THING TO TRUST GOD IN THE DARK.

IT'S ONE THING TO TRUST GOD WHEN YOU THINK YOU GOT IT FIGURED

OUT, AND YOU'RE GETTING WHAT YOU WANT, AND YOU CAN UNDERSTAND

WHAT'S GOING ON.

IT'S ANOTHER THING ENTIRELY TO NOT GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR,

TO HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING AT ALL OF WHY OR WHAT

IS HAPPENING, AND STILL BE ABLE TO SAY, "GOD, I TRUST YOU."

THAT'S THE KIND OF FAITH WE'RE AFTER, AND YOU KNOW WHAT?

THAT'S THE KIND OF FAITH THAT THE WORLD NEEDS TO SEE.

THAT'S THE KIND OF FAITH THE WORLD NEEDS TO SEE.

PEOPLE ARE LOOKING AT US.

YOU PUT A BUMPER STICKER ON YOUR CAR, PEOPLE ARE WATCHING

YOUR CHARACTER.

COME ON.

AND THEY DON'T WANT TO JUST SEE YOUR BUMPER STICKER, THEY WANT

TO SEE THE FRUIT IN YOUR LIFE OF WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEAN

TO BE A CHRISTIAN.

AND SO, PASTOR CHARLES TOLD ME THIS, AND IF THIS IS YOUR HOME

CHURCH YOU'VE PROBABLY HEARD IT, BUT WE'RE NOT ONLY TALKING

TO PEOPLE HERE TODAY, BUT MILLIONS OF PEOPLE

ALL OVER THE WORLD BY TV, PEOPLE THAT ARE GOING THROUGH

HORRENDOUS THINGS, PEOPLE THAT ARE HURTING, PEOPLE

THAT HAVE HAD UNFAIR THINGS HAPPEN TO YOU, AND IT SEEMS

TO YOU LIKE GOD'S FORGOTTEN ALL ABOUT YOU.

WELL, HE HASN'T.

HE HEARS YOU AND HE SEES YOU.

CAN I TELL YOU TODAY THAT YOU'RE NOT INVISIBLE?

GOD KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE YOU'RE AT, AND HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT'S

GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE, AND HE KNOWS EXACTLY HOW MUCH YOU

CAN TAKE AND HOW MUCH YOU CAN'T TAKE.

AND HE MAY NOT BE EARLY, BUT HE WON'T BE LATE.

GOD WILL DELIVER YOU AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME.

COME ON, THIS DAY IS ABOUT HOPE.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: THE ENEMY CAN COME AGAINST ME ONE WAY,

BUT HE'LL HAVE TO FLEE BEFORE ME SEVEN WAYS.

"MANY ARE THE AFFLICTIONS OF THE RIGHTEOUS, BUT GOD

DELIVERS HIM OUT OF THEM ALL."

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: BUT THIS IS WHAT HE SAID TO ME, HE SAID,

"AFTER MY WIFE DIED, I SAID TO GOD, 'I'M NEVER

GOING TO ASK YOU WHY.'" WHICH I DON'T KNOW THAT IT'S

WRONG TO ASK WHY, BUT I WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU'RE PROBABLY

NOT GOING TO GET AN ANSWER.

AND EVEN IF YOU DO, IT MAY BE SOMETHING YOU CONCOCT

IN YOUR MIND THAT REALLY ISN'T THE REALITY.

NOW, I DON'T MEAN THAT GOD WON'T GIVE US UNDERSTANDING ON THINGS

BECAUSE HE CERTAINLY DOES.

I HAD A LOT OF QUESTIONS ABOUT WHY GOD DIDN'T GET ME OUT

OF THE ABUSIVE SITUATION I WAS IN AS A CHILD.

I WAS BORN AGAIN WHEN I WAS 9 YEARS OLD, AND I STARTED

PRAYING AND ASKING GOD TO DELIVER ME.

NOW, I WAS PROBABLY PRAYING SOME STUFF THAT WASN'T TOO GOOD,

LIKE I PRAYED FOR MY DAD TO DIE AND STUFF LIKE THAT.

THAT WASN'T PROBABLY THE BEST PLAN, BUT GOD SAW MY LITTLE

HEART, AND HE KNEW MY SUFFERING, AND HE DIDN'T DELIVER ME.

BUT HE DID GET ME THROUGH IT, AND HE MADE ME STRONGER

AS A RESULT OF IT.

NOW, I ASKED WHY FOR A LONG, LONG TIME, AND I GOT

A LITTLE BIT OF UNDERSTANDING, BUT TO BE HONEST,

I STILL CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENS.

BUT I DON'T EVEN CARE ANYMORE.

YOU KNOW WHY I DON'T CARE?

BECAUSE I'M NOT LOOKING AT WHAT I DIDN'T GET,

I'M LOOKING AT WHAT I DID GET.

I'M NOT LOOKING AT WHAT I LOST, I'M LOOKING AT WHAT I FOUND.

COME ON.

SO HE SAID,

"I'LL NEVER ASK YOU WHY."

AND HERE AGAIN, I'M NOT SAYING IT'S WRONG IF YOU DO THAT.

WE'RE GOING TO TALK A LITTLE BIT MORE TODAY ABOUT REASONING

AND HOW REASONING CAN LEAD TO SO MUCH CONFUSION

IN OUR LIVES.

AND THERE COMES A POINT WHERE IT'S GOOD AND HEALTHY TO THINK

ABOUT THINGS AND TO PONDER THINGS WITH GOD, BUT THE MOMENT

YOU MOVE OVER INTO CONFUSION, THAT'S WHERE YOU NEED

TO STOP AND SAY, "GOD, I CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT."

YOU KNOW WHY?

YOU CAN'T REASON WITH SOMETHING THAT'S UNREASONABLE.

YOU JUST CAN'T DO IT.

WHO'S GOING TO FIGURE OUT WHY A LITTLE 3-YEAR-OLD CHILD GETS

CANCER?

WE'RE NOT GOING TO FIGURE THAT OUT.

SO, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I THANK GOD THAT I CAN TRUST

HIM TO MAKE WRONG THINGS RIGHT IN MY LIFE, AMEN?

NOW, BUT THE SECOND THING HE SAID, AND THIS WAS PROBABLY

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT TO ME, HE SAID ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS

HE PRAYED WAS, "GOD, PLEASE HELP ME DO THIS RIGHT."

NOW, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU KNOW FOR SURE WHAT THAT MEANS, BUT I

KNEW IMMEDIATELY THAT HE MEANT BECAUSE HERE'S THE THING.

IT'S EASY TO STAND UP AND PREACH.

IT'S EASY EVEN AS A BELIEVER TO ENCOURAGE OTHER BELIEVERS

ABOUT WHAT THEY SHOULD DO WHEN THEY'RE HAVING PROBLEMS.

WE'VE ALWAYS GOT A GOOD ANSWER FOR EVERYBODY, DON'T WE?

"WELL, JUST TRUST GOD.

JUST TRUST GOD.

GOD'S GOING TO WORK IT OUT.

BE PATIENT.

IT'S ALL GOING TO WORK OUT IN THE END.

JUST LET IT GO.

GOD WILL--GOD WILL REWARD YOU."

BUT WE NOT ONLY NEED TO TELL IT TO OTHER PEOPLE, WE NEED TO DO

IT IN OUR OWN LIFE.

AND SO, THE THING THAT HE WAS PRAYING, AND THE REASON WHY I

LOVE THIS IS BECAUSE HIS FIRST PRAYER WASN'T FOR GOD TO RELIEVE

HIS PAIN, HIS FIRST PRAYER WAS, "GOD, HELP ME REPRESENT YOU

RIGHT TO MY CONGREGATION AND TO THE WORLD THAT I'M

IN SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THAT HAVING FAITH IN YOU

ACTUALLY DOES WORK AND THAT IT PAYS OFF."

COME ON, GIVE GOD A PRAISE.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: SO, THANK YOU, PASTOR, FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD EXAMPLE

TO ALL OF US.

AND I KNOW THAT--

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND I KNOW WHEN HE PRAYED THAT PRAYER, THAT DIDN'T

MEAN THAT HIS PAIN STOPPED.

THAT DIDN'T MEAN THAT HE STILL DIDN'T SUFFER INSIDE.

BUT HE HAD MADE A DECISION THAT HOW HE REPRESENTED GOD

WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOW HE FELT PERSONALLY.

AND ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS THAT I WANT YOU TO HAVE

AS A TAKEAWAY FROM THIS MORNING'S SESSION

TODAY IS LET'S GET MORE CONCERNED ABOUT HOW WE REPRESENT

JESUS IN THE WORLD EVEN THAN WE ARE GETTING WHAT WE WANT, WHEN

WE WANT IT, THE WAY WE WANT IT.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: YOU KNOW WHAT?

WE'RE JUST A LITTLE BIT TOO ADDICTED TO GETTING

WHAT WE WANT.

I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE TODAY, MAYBE FEWER HERE IN THE CHURCH

BECAUSE THIS IS A LIFESTYLE FOR YOU, BUT I WONDER HOW MANY

POSSIBLY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT ARE WATCHING

TODAY, AND YOU'RE JUST A LITTLE BIT MAD AT GOD.

I MEAN, IF THE TRUTH IS TOLD, THERE'S JUST A LITTLE RIFT

BETWEEN YOU AND GOD BECAUSE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE.

AND THEY DON'T SEEM FAIR.

AND IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL, YOU CAN TAKE THAT TOO FAR,

AND MAN, IT WILL STEAL YOUR WALK WITH GOD.

I SAID LAST NIGHT AND I'M GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN TODAY, I DON'T

KNOW WHY WE DON'T JUST GO AHEAD AND WHOLEHEARTEDLY TRUST GOD

IN EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME BECAUSE WE ONLY HAVE

TWO OPTIONS, TRUST GOD OR BE MISERABLE.

CAN ANYBODY HERE THINK OF ANOTHER OPTION?

I CAN'T.

WE'RE EITHER GOING TO TRUST GOD OR WE'RE GOING TO BE MISERABLE.

AND YOU KNOW, THE WORLD CAN THINK, "WELL, YOU'RE A FOOL

TRUSTING GOD LIKE THAT."

WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT? I'D RATHER BE A HAPPY FOOL.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AND I'VE SAID THIS OFTEN IN MY TEACHING, BUT I'M

GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN TODAY.

YOU KNOW, HERE'S THE THING.

IF I SPEND MY WHOLE LIFE LOVING GOD, TRUSTING HIM, SERVING HIM,

STUDYING THE BIBLE EVERY DAY, PREACHING EVERY TIME I TURN

AROUND, AND I GET TO THE END OF MY LIFE AND THERE'S NO GOD,

WELL, AT LEAST I WAS HAPPY.

BUT, IF YOU'RE WRONG--COME ON, IF THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T

BELIEVE ARE WRONG AND YOU GET TO THE END OF YOUR LIFE,

AND WHOOPS, THERE'S GOD.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: SO, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, BUT IF YOU'RE

GOING TO TAKE A CHANCE ON ANYTHING, LET'S TAKE A CHANCE

THAT GOD IS REAL, AND LET'S ACT LIKE HE IS, AND LET'S SERVE HIM.

COME ON.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: SO, I WAS--I'VE SHARED WHAT HE SAID AT A COUPLE OTHER

OF MY CONFERENCES BECAUSE I REALLY WANT US ALL TO GET

TO THE POINT WHERE WE'RE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT HOW WE'RE

REPRESENTING GOD IN THE WORLD THAN WE ARE JUST GETTING

WHAT WE WANT ALL THE TIME.

JOYCE: WELL, I WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO START

TRUSTING GOD FOR EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE ALL THE TIME.

DON'T TRY TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN YOURSELF.

WAIT AND KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS.

NOW, WE'RE OFFERING YOU TODAY THIS WONDERFUL BOOK

THAT I'VE WRITTEN CALLED "UNSHAKEABLE TRUST."

AND TO BE VERY HONEST, I THINK THIS IS RIGHT UP THERE

WITH SOME OF THE IMPORTANT BOOKS THAT I'VE EVER WRITTEN,

AND I'VE WRITTEN A LOT OF BOOKS.

LIFE IS JUST MISERABLE IF WE DON'T LEARN HOW TO TRUST GOD.

AND THERE'S A LOT OF THINGS THAT WE DON'T UNDERSTAND,

BUT TRUSTING GOD BRINGS US INTO HIS REST AND IT GIVES

US PEACE.

TRUSTING GOD ALLOWS US TO ENJOY OUR LIFE.

AND WE'RE OFFERING THIS BOOK TO YOU TODAY FOR YOUR GIFT

TO THE MINISTRY OF ANY AMOUNT.

AND WHATEVER YOU GIVE TODAY IS GOING TO GO TO THE TELEVISION

OUTREACH MINISTRY.

YOU KNOW, OUR TELEVISION MINISTRY IS SEEN

AROUND THE WORLD IN 100 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES

I THINK, SOMETHING LIKE THAT, I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT AMOUNT.

BUT WE HAVE AN UNPRECEDENTED OPPORTUNITY IN FRONT OF US,

AND I'M ASKING YOU TO HELP US NOT ONLY TO KEEP THE PROGRAM ON

THAT YOU'RE WATCHING, BUT TO KEEP REACHING OUT

TO HURTING PEOPLE EVERYWHERE.

SOMETHING THAT I SAY OFTEN IS NOT EVERYBODY WHO NEEDS HELP

WILL GO TO CHURCH, BUT EVERYBODY WATCHES TV.

AND SO, IT'S A GOOD OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO GO FISHING FOR SOULS

AND BE USED BY GOD.

AND I WANT YOU TO JUST DO YOUR BEST.

WE TRUST YOU TO SEND IN THE BEST GIFT THAT YOU CAN, AND IT'S

GOING TO REALLY BE A BLESSING TO ME IF YOU'LL DO THAT.

AND I ALSO WANT YOU TO REMEMBER THAT GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN ABOUT

YOU, HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE, HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT'S

GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE.

HE MAY NOT BE EARLY, BUT HE DEFINITELY WON'T BE LATE.

GOD WILL DELIVER YOU AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME.

PUT YOUR TRUST IN HIM.

FEMALE: HOW DO I TRUST GOD WHEN I'VE BEEN DISAPPOINTED

OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER.

FEMALE: HOW CAN I HAVE FAITH IN GOD WHEN I'M NOT SEEING

AN IMPROVEMENT.

MALE: I TRUST GOD, BUT SOMETIMES I HAVE SO MANY

FEARS I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

ANNOUNCER: TOUGH QUESTIONS, SOLID ANSWERS.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU MIGHT BE SHARING WITH SOME OF THE WOMEN

THAT WILL BE AT THE CONFERENCE THIS YEAR?

RUTH: WELL, I THINK SO MANY OF US FEEL LIKE WE

HAVE TO KEEP MASKS ON.

PEOPLE PERMISSION TO BE WHO THEY REALLY ARE.

Metroid: Samus Returns - REVIEW (3DS) - Duration: 8:31.

To say that there's been a Metroid drought since the release of Other M in 2010 is putting

it mildly.

It seemed as if that title put a blight on the entire series, but that wasn't the case

at all.

Fans wanted more Metroid, just not like that.

And this was proven with Metroid Prime: Federation Force, a fun multiplayer experience set in

the universe but not with the gameplay that everyone wanted.

It was just the wrong timing.

But now we have Metroid: Samus Returns, a remake of Metroid II in the same vein as Zero

Mission.

The question though is whether this remake is enough to satiate fans.

The game, much like the original, focuses on the Galactic Federation's decision that

the Metroid threat is too great after the initial incident with the Space Pirates on

Planet Zebes.

They've tasked Samus with the mission of eradicating every last Metroid on their home

planet of SR388.

But as Samus explores the cavernous depths of the planet, she realizes that the Metroids

have a life cycle that make them far more deadly than she first thought.

It's a straightforward plot with little room for additions since the Game Boy original.

There are a few instances here and there, but the main gameplay is unburdened by any

heavy storytelling.

Cutscenes are often used to establish a new threat or slightly expand upon what came before.

The most exciting examples are those that create a better connection to what comes after

this game.

And honestly, that's how it should be.

Samus, on her own, against impossible odds.

It's great stuff.

And it's bolstered by the excellent gameplay.

The original Metroid II suffers from many of same issues that plagued Metroid on the

NES.

Fun could be had, but it was easy to get lost without creating your own map, and it feels

incredibly slow.

That's not the case here.

Samus is fast, fluid, and feels great to control.

Every movement feels perfect with the exception of kneeling to go into the Morph Ball.

Since Samus can only be controlled with the Circle Pad, it feels like it doesn't quite

register every time.

However, a quick tap of the bottom screen instantly puts her into the Morph Ball and

out making it a non-issue.

That's just movement though as Samus can use various other techniques both new and

old.

First of all, Samus can now aim in all directions.

She can't move while doing this, but the added accuracy does help and the laser sight

will glow red when an enemy is targeted.

It adds versatility to the combat as I was often able to clear enemies before they even

became a problem, at least when I got the proper beam upgrades.

There's also the new Aieon powers.

These allow you to chart out the map and see breakable objects, protect you from damage

at the cost of draining your Aieon energy, supercharge the beam cannon to send out a

fast and consistent attack, and even slow down time.

At first, I didn't think that they'd be necessary to the adventure, more like they

were bonuses for newcomers to help make the experience easier.

And while that could be said for the Scan Pulse, the others all had their uses that

were needed to progress.

It helped make them feel more essential than they seemed at first glance.

They were necessary in exploration and gathering all of the item expansions and for defeating

certain enemies earlier on.

Each was an excellent tool that helped make the game feel different as all of the other

upgrades Samus can discover are taken from other games in the series.

But the biggest change is the Melee Counter.

Almost every enemy in the game can attempt a physical attack and just before this, they'll

glow white.

If you perform the counter at just the right time, Samus will knock them out of the attack

and leave them wide open for a doubly powerful counter.

It's one of the quickest ways to take down enemies and even leaves those with hard shells

wide open.

The Melee Counter proved to be quite tricky to get down at first, but once you have the

hang of it, it's incredibly potent and will save you more often than not.

It is a wonderful addition to the series and something I really want to see come back in

the future.

While I was worried it would make the game too easy, that never became an issue.

Samus Returns can be surprisingly challenging at times, at least on your first attempt.

I died way more than I ever expected, but there is a checkpoint system that helps make

the deaths not quite as punishing as they've been in the past.

The big problem though is that cutscenes aren't skippable.

So there might be a big introduction for a new kind of Metroid that proves to be too

challenging and you die.

You'll be brought back just before the fight occurred, but that same scene will play out.

And if you get really stuck there as I did with a certain boss, you'll quickly grow

tired of seeing it over and over again.

But that's a rare misstep in a game that is simply a joy to play.

Returning to the exploration of past games and using new abilities to find more items

never gets old, but the structure of Samus Returns might turn off some Metroid fans.

It's not a purely open game and is structured more like Metroid Fusion where each area was

its own section to explore.

It makes the game feel more guided, especially since you must hunt down every Metroid in

that area in order to continue on.

Thankfully, a new teleport system is implemented making backtracking a breeze.

And fighting the Metroids themselves is fun.

Each one is like a mini-boss and they've been expanded to be much more of a challenge.

They also have a way to prevent you from constantly using the Melee Counter to wear them down

as some will be charged with electrical or fire energy.

And the first time I fought each new type of Metroid really felt like I was figuring

out a new puzzle.

And that's the same for all the bosses and even common enemies.

Standard encounters have new attack patterns that make them feel recognizable to the original

but decidedly different.

And the new bosses can be tough, but I had so much fun figuring out what I needed to

do to win.

Really the only major issue I came across was in gathering certain items.

Each one was hidden behind a set of red spikes with no clear way of getting past.

It took a collective of other reviewers pooling the info they discovered to finally figure

out what it took.

That's not a problem in and of itself, but there was no clear indication of what needed

to be done.

Of course in retrospect it seems obvious, but it was a pain to decipher before that

point.

It's also quite the meaty experience.

It took around 12 hours for me to beat the game my first time, while exploring as much

as possible, but experienced players could easily cut that first playthrough down to

six.

Collecting everything also unlocks Chozo Lore which offers pictures showing what the Chozo

race did on SR388 before the events of Samus Returns.

Add in an unlockable Hard difficulty, and it feels like there's plenty to do for Metroid

fans.

But I am worried that the higher difficulty of even a normal playthrough might be too

much for newcomers.

Practice would help them get through it, but some could still end up frustrated.

Still, I think the gameplay would win most of them over.

Beyond the gameplay, Samus Returns looks incredible on the 3DS.

Samus's animations are fluid and fast and the backgrounds really help in making SR388

feel like a real place.

I also highly recommend playing in 3D if you're able as it enhanced not only the action, but

the places you visit along the way.

And even on the original 3DS, there never a hint of slowdown or the game struggling

to keep up.

It's incredibly impressive how the developers at MercurySteam managed to make the 3D models

work in a 2D game.

The sound design is just as good with classic songs being remade and keeping the minimalist

tone of many of the areas.

But when things pick up, it's just as exciting as ever.

The sound effects are punchy as well, really showing the power of Samus's arsenal.

There's no doubt in my mind that Metroid: Samus Returns will be held up in the same

regard as Zero Mission.

It is an excellent example of how to expand upon what came before while also adding both

elements from later games and gameplay unique to itself.

While it has some minor issues here and there, I still love this game.

It is the best version of Metroid II by far and an excellent way to bring back the Metroid

series.

I'm totally ready for a new 2D Metroid adventure in this style and can only hope it happens

soon.

Thanks for watch and be sure to subscribe to GameXplain for more on Metroid and other

things gaming.

New sanctions will not be enough to prevent N. Korea's further provocations: N. Korea watchers - Duration: 2:05.

Only time will tell how effective the new sanctions will be in curbing the regime's

nuclear ambitions.

In the long run, they could deal an effective blow.

But most North Korea watchers say the measures are ultimately not enough.

Connie Kim has the analysis.

The UN Security Council has adopted its ninth sanctions resolution on North Korea, being

dubbed the strongest to date, but whether these new punitive measures will be effective

in curbing the regime's nuclear ambitions is up in the air.

This comes as members of the UN Security Council failed to agree on the initial draft of a

complete oil embargo.

Instead, imports of both refined and crude oil will be capped at eight-point-five million

barrels a year.

While it may be limited in terms of scale,... experts say an oil cap on the North is a good

starting point in maximizing pressure on the reclusive state.

(English) "For poor country like North Korea which is

heavily dependent on outside for oil which is mostly used for transportation purposes.//

The new measures will represent a reduction of only 25% compared to the previous amount,

but still it's going to make an impact in my view."

(Korean) "This resolution has significance as it started

slapping sanctions on its energy.

It also sends a signal that the North's crude oil supplies could be cut even more on the

heels of additional nuclear and missile tests."

Paired with other sanctions... namely a ban on North Korea's textile exports and a ban

on renewing North Korean laborers' overseas contracts,...these measures are expected to

deprive the regime from nearly 1 billion U.S. dollars in annual revenues.

"Nonetheless,... most North Korea watchers in Seoul are showing skepticism over whether

the set of sanctions will be enough in preventing further provocations from the regime.

They forecast Pyongyang's completion of an intercontinental ballistic missile topped

with a nuclear warhead capable of reaching the U.S. while Washington will continue to

compel North Korea to discuss denuclearization.

Connie Kim, Arirang News."

#LifeChangingPlaces Lofoten: Tanz mit dem Eismeer | Lufthansa - Duration: 2:42.

Life can be crazy.

Here, in the North Sea in front of the Lofoten Islands,

it all began.

It was a lot stormier those days

... and cold.

Damn cold.

Winter in Lofoten is an attack,

in the best kind of way.

I was a surf photographer

standing on the most beautiful beaches on the planet.

And it sounds stupid: But it actually became boring.

Wifi everywhere, high rise hotels and crowded beaches.

I knew there was something missing.

I started looking in more remote places

to find the adventure that I was seeking.

So I went to the Lofoten Islands.

the islands of the gods …

It was like I found this whole new world

that maybe others had simply overlooked.

It was minus 23 degrees, icy wind,

and three meter high waves.

A freezing cold feeling,

everything it feels like it's about to shut down.

I could literally feel the blood leaving my hands,

feet and face.

"He's Going"

At that moment I knew this is exactly what I've been seeking out.

These pictures they meant so much more to me

because I had given a piece of myself to get them.

It makes me feel alive in a way I never felt before.

I came here to do something different.

And now I know:

I never want do anything else again.

Jingdong Group holds session for Korean firms looking to sell products to China through ... - Duration: 2:23.

Exports to China plummeted in the six months since Seoul started deploying the THAAD missile

defense system.

Beijing's economic retaliation continues to hit Korean companies in that country hard.

In contrast, Korean firms are offered new way to expand sales in China through a popular

online platform.

Won Jung-hwan has the full story.

Korean companies in China have been struggling recently, partly due to failure to adapt to

the local market, and partly due to the specific business problems posed by China's economic

retaliation to the THAAD missile deployment.

But whatever the reason for these difficulties, in the 25th year of diplomatic relations between

Korea and China, one of the China's largest e-commerce websites, Jingdong, has decided

to reach out to Korean companies.

Jingdong Group held a briefing session today in Seoul to attract Korean companies wishing

to sell their products on Jingdong's online shopping platform, JD.com.

Executives from Korean companies and the Korea International Trade Association gathered together

to see how the online commerce platform could benefit them.

(CHINESE)

"We want to develop our Chinese market and introduce innovative and quality products

to our consumers.

At the same time, we are going to further promote international brands through our business

platform."

Jingdong, which reported gross sales of 800-million U.S. dollars last year,... is one of the main

online shopping malls, along with rivals Alibaba, that Chinese customers use when purchasing

foreign products.

In 2015, Jingdong established several international e-commerce sections, with the South Korean

section proving especially popular.

(KOREAN)

The current economic situation between the two countries has deteriorated due to the

THAAD issue, but the Chinese online market itself is very promising.

For instance, in the first half of this year, more than 80% of exports through e-commerce

headed to China.

So, if the THAAD issue is resolved, I believe this could be a great chance for Korean companies.

(STANDUP) Despite China's ongoing economic retaliation

over THAAD, there is a glint of hope the platform of online shopping could be the driving force

that helps Korean companies to regain their popularity among Chinese consumers.
