Waching daily Sep 20 2017

Hey people have the Interwebs it is Q bringing you your dive conditions

midweek report. At the Caloundra Coast Guard jetty were on an outbound tide and

the waters of The Pumicestone Passage are looking fairly clean, which is good

news because the tides are also going to be in your favor if you're planning on

a drift dive in The Pumicestone Passage either Saturday or Sunday morning.

Taking a look at the waters from Kings Beach boat ramp, as we'd

expect with the currently moderate 25 kilometer an hour wind from the

southeast, there's a lot of whitecaps out there and also, I'm not sure if you can

see it from this angle, but there's also a lot of crypto on the surface which

means if you are going in the water just be aware when you're swimming in that,

that you make sure you clean out your ears afterwards because there's a chance

you'll get yourself a bit of an infection. Wind for the weekend is also

expected to be moderate from the north on Saturday and Sunday.

Visibility wise I would estimate that if you went in here today there'd probably

be around about four meters of viz. The visibility at Shelly Beach looking a lot

better than it was at Kings Beach but once again the surface conditions

looking a bit lumpy. I would estimate that if you went in here today there'd be

five or six meters of visibility and we're expecting that to be pretty much

the same if not better by the weekend. Our bird's-eye view look down onto The

Keyhole dive site confirms the visibility at least six meters if you

went in today and still once again we've got those choppy surface conditions due

to the current wind direction. There is a possible storm also due for Friday but

it's more likely going to be showers and it's going to be mostly fine on Saturday

and Sunday. Moffat Beach offering up the most attractive surface conditions right now.

Visibility wise though a little bit lower than Shelly Beach down to around

about four or five meters. Your tide times for this weekend Saturday we have a high

at 9:56 am and a low at 4:00 pm. Sunday we have a high at 10:34 am and a low at

4:41 pm. And the swell is expected to be up to two meters on both days. So in

summary, if that forecast storm doesn't come through on Friday, surface

conditions and visibility should pretty much remain the same for most of the

Caloundra shore dive sites. so I would suggest that you get down early and

make the most of that incoming tide on both Saturday and Sunday morning.

If you found this dive conditions report with Q helpful please leave a thumbs up

down below, it really does help me out, and of course subscribe to see future

YouTube videos. Thanks for watching and take it easy.

Robbie Interviews Chlöe Swarbrick | White Man Behind A Desk - Duration: 2:39.

Chlöe: I think that we've definitely, you know, we've been talking about climate change

and about inequality for thirty years now as the Green Party and we've totally opened

the Overton window.

Robbie: How are... you?

C: I'd say great.

Together.

R: I don't think that's -

C: No that's not the slogan any more no.

R: Yeah.

That's fine.

C: And we've been talking about these things well before they were popular, so when we

were considered kind of hippies or otherwise for talking about them.

And now they're cool!

So, I consider that a win.

R: Okay, it's a...

It's a... woman?

She's...

You're moving her to the left...

She's going away.

I didn't wanna bring it back to this, Finn.

R: Do you think that's a PR win or do you think that's a politics win, because -

C: I hope it's a substantive win, yeah.

R: Could perhaps the Green Party be using their time and efforts more valuably as a

PR firm, if that's what they're trying to do?

C: Is this the grandpa cardigan, or what's going on here?

R: This is the bit where I try and be friendly.

C: OK.

C: No, I don't think so.

R: Can you explain why?

C: Yeah, okay, so, I mean this is gonna get really dry and boring, but we in New Zealand

operate under a system called parliamentary supremacy and we've got Section Four of the

Bill of Rights Act, which says that parliament can basically do, by and large, whatever it

wants, because if there's any piece of legislation, which is inconsistent with the Bill of Rights

then that piece of legislation, which is inconsistent, by and large overrides our Bill of Rights,

so - null and void, by the way.

So, basically what that means is that parliament can do essentially whatever it wants, like

it did in the disability carers case -

R: I'm just gonna stop you there.

We're talking about your party's ability to influence parliament, not parliament's ability

to do what it would like to do as a whole.

R: She's probably important, maybe in a leadership role?

C: Oh God, here we go.

R: I'll just say it: Metiria leaving the Green Party.

C: What I'm talking about is the disconnect currently between people and politics, so

basically politicians are only really accountable to the people of New Zealand, and right now

they can do by and large whatever they want when people don't really care what they're

doing.

And then we've got the intermediary problem of the media -

R: So are you saying that by entering politics you're changing what parliament looks like

and that's the service -

C: No, I think that what we're trying to do is trying to get people actually engaged in

democracy and realise their power.

C: Ah, it was Gone Girl.

The movie.

R: That's my fault.

That is my bad.

C: Really don't know what I signed up for, eh?

R: Chlöe Swarbrick!

IMPACT: Broken Lanes of Shopian Town Reconstructed By Authorities | Basharat Reports - Duration: 2:15.

The mismanaged lanes of Gadh Mohalla Shopian were in deplorable condition for last few years.

I made a video on it before a month.

and bring that into the notice of concerned authority.

We have been seeing this for 25 years.

This lane is totally broken.

We cannot move out.

When it rains our lawns also get inundated.

Last year we went to meet Executive Officer, Municipal Committee.

They said they have given tender of Rs 5 lakh to repair this lane.

But we do not know anything about that money

whether they sanctioned that or not.

We are not able to move out.

What do you people want?

We want authorities to visit our area

and check it.

For 30 years, we are being told only this year they will repair our lane.

Executive officer Shopian, Mr. Imitiaz Ahmad ensured to repair the lane within 20 days.

I and my community is thankful to Mr. Imitaiz Ahmad who kept his word and repaired the lane.

We are highly thankful to KashmirUnheard that they helped us to solve this issue.

and we are also thankful to Executive officer Shopian.

for solving our long pending issue.

I am Basharat Amin for Kashmir Unheard from Shopian.

Australian education news - funding cuts, employability rankings, UQ ielts course and more - Duration: 6:42.

Hey guys

Gday

Bazza here from Stuzenter

You're directory for the world of education

downunder

in Australia.

As you can see from the cheesy news intro

thanks to the guys at sound effects achieve

for uploading this clip onto youtube then I could use it as a cheesy intro.

So what we're trying out in our new series today

is called

"Stu knows news"

this guy here.

My friend and your friend in Australian study.

Where we

me and him

wrap up

randomly picked

interesting news

from the education world

downunder in Australia

for international students just like you.

So without further a do

as we say in Australia

first cab off the rank is;

general news

Federal government pushes to pass uni cuts

so the government is wanting to introduce a

new higher education bill

meaning they want to cut funds for universities

the proposed cut is around $3 billion dollars

So what does this mean for you

as an international student

soooo if you think of it this way

the funding for research at the university that you attend

could be affected

and fees for courses could actually go up

which could mean you pay more to study :(

But don't worry that's only if the bill is passed.

Fingers crossed let's hope the government comes up with a mutually beneficial proposal for all

Next in the news

let's look at rankings.

because it was a huge last few weeks for universities

So the headline is;

Sydney University ranked fourth in world for graduate employability

coming in ahead of leading school such as

MIT, Cambridge University and Oxford uni.

Gooooo Sydney Uni!

Now at the same time

University of Sydney was named Australia's top MBA

Look at that ...

Congrats to Sydney for a double mention!

Now on to next piece of news

we have announcements.

UQ - university of Queensland online course hits half a million enrolments

wooooaaahhhh

so since launching in 2015, the IELTSx course

has attracted people from more than 218 countries and territories,

with learners from Vietnam, Egypt and India

accounting for the highest number of enrolments.

Go UQ university of QLD!

Gooooooo online learning!

There are links to that link out to edX where you can take that course as well.

I'll provide those links later in the description.

Now on to the next news,

we are looking at research

University of Melbourne

LIFE'S A DRAG, UNLESS YOU LIVE IN A BUBBLE

Gotta love their catchy headlines by the university of Melbourne folk there!

So .. according to the university of Melbourne

What they found through research is that;

water will easily stop a bullet, but it can't stop a ball sinking in a bubble.

Woooahhh that's mind blowing!

This is the remarkable result from a series of experiments that have for the first time

shown objects sinking in water with close to zero drag,

this research has important implications for the development of energy-efficient marine vehicles.

Which could achieve 10 or perhaps 20 per cent drag reduction

which equals fuel efficiency!

Good on ya uni of Melbourne!

So on to next piece of news

this is a juicy one ... bad news or questionable news

I'll let you be the judge.

Australian Catholic University 'games system' on research

So apparently The Australian Catholic University hired a team of highly

paid international academics in order to

"artificially inflate" its research scores.

Ooohhhhh

So The Australian (a newspaper in Australia)

revealed that the ACU has employed at least 16 "professorial fellows" ... I got that word right :)

And apparently the ACU pays its overseas professors between $70,000 and $100,000 a year and business-class

travel to Australia if they travel here.

So go ahead & read article and make up your own mind.

So let's try to finish off on a high with

scholarship opportunities

and why not with a top uni

University of Melbourne

they have opened up their application dates

for the Una Porter Scholarship

the scholarship is for domestic as well as

international students just like you!

It can be used for any study area,

and there is ... there are 2 up for grabs

and so get your .. start working on your application

because applications close 17th of November.

So there you go.

I've included all the links for the news articles

that I've mentioned in the description.

Hope you enjoyed it and you'll tune in again next week

with random news that

Stu and I will grab from all over the place for Australian education.

Any questions reach out to Stu or me via

WhatsApp msg + 61 424 099 834

OR email say-gday@stuzenter.com

getting that word out. Wuuhuuuu!

There .. you .. go!

Bababababaaaaaa

Cya's later!!!

Le Cercle By Mab'ish #13: Leron Carson - Lemonlime // SPECIAL GUESTS DETROIT! - Duration: 8:23.

Would you not come back from Detroit by any chance?

what????

(Hey what up doe ?? I just came back from DETROIT CITY !!!)

Ok, you thought I'm gonna make it in English,

we'll stay in French, that's safer.

This is the return from the summer holidays, welcome to The Circle!

First I am going to slow down the pace, so The Circle will be a bi-monthly program .

That will provide more time to prepare each program as well as introducing surprises and novelties.

After one month in Detroit, I came back very inspired by the city,

the people living there and of course the music and dance.

That's why this program and the next one will be dedicated to Detroit.

I am going to tell you about Lemonlime EP of Leron Carson

released in 2016 on the label Sound Signature.

There is very little information upon the artist, so I will linger over Sound Signature label.

For the second part, I have a video for you that I am rather proud of

with 5 Detroit dancers within a magical spot in the city.

Leron Carson was an artist from Chicago

who released a couple tracks on Detroit label Sound Signature founded by Theo Parrish.

Sadly, he passed away last year at the age of 45

This EP is a tribute to this producer who was a close friend to Theo Parrish

Leron Carson's discography counts 4 releases on Sound Signature:

"The 1987 EP",

"Red Lightbulb Theory",

"Red Lightbulb Theory '87-88'",

"Tracks From The Tape"

and finally "Lemonlime" released in 2016.

This EP contains 2 crazy tracks: FACE A – Lemonlime 10minutes of heavy house

with a melody and riffs from Leron Carson

whom I'm sure will stick in your head and make you dance

FACE B : Sof N Thik, 5 minutes track in a deeper and sweeter mood really feeling like Chicago's House style.

Let's talk about the label : Sound Signature is Mr. Theo Parrish's label

who is a great House music producer.

This label counts more than 100 releases, essentially from Theo Parrish himself

This label will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year,

I let you do the math…

...it actually means it has been created in 1997. These guys are still there !!!

This label put several artists in the spotlight such as Jay Daniel, Geology, Byron The Aquarius

and more lately Thomas Xu & Julion De'Angelo especially

with 'Chase The Summer' on 'Roots That Talk' EP, definitely THE late summer's track in my opinion!

In a nutshell, releasing a vinyl on Sound Signature is an artistic quality proof

and establishes quite some fame in the House music community.

In Detroit, there is 2 very typical House visions that started within the same time.

From one side KDJ and its branch Mahogani founded by Moodymann,

on the otherside Theo Parrish's Sound Signature.

KDJ follows Soul & Funk tradition taken from Motown, Parliament and Funkadelic

while Sound Signature is more based on experimentation

and a more contemporary version of House.

What I really appreciate with Theo Parrish is that he loves dance and putting dancers in the spotlight:

he is the only House artist having bringing House dancers during his tour "Teddy's Get Down".

Speaking of dancers, we are getting to the second part.

I prepared a little surprise with 5 outstanding dancers from Detroit.

Gehrik Mohr...a.k.a: "POSEIDON", dancing since the 80's, passionate about House dance & House music.

You maybe saw him besides Theo Parrish during his tour Teddy's Get Down or in the music video of Footwork.

Javonntte Garrett...Detroit producer and dancer.

He learned Jazz during more than 10 years as well as other music genres.

And wait for it, he toured with Aretha Franklin as a dancer during 12 years.

Dredre, Old style dancer, always in a good mood and smiling.

I met and exchanged with him through dance cyphers in Detroit.

Haleem Aka Stringz, dancer who mixes several dance styles among them the Jit, a dance originally created in Detroit.

He is also the founder of the collective 'Hardcore Detroit'

Last but not least, he released a DVD about Jit pioneers entitled "The Jitterbugs"

available for sale on the web that I strongly advise to buy if you are eager to know more about Jit.

And last but not least, Kafani Detroit dancer who also lived quite some time in Senegal.

You can see him in Waajeed's latest music Video – Shango.

Not forgetting a surprise guest in the end, all of it shot in a magical and powerful space:

The Michigan Building, an abandoned theater in Detroit.

Let's go! Let's dance!

Ah, this was just an excerpt, you can find the whole video on my YouTube Channel as well as through the link in the description

Big up to all dancers who participated in the video,

Fred for the shooting,

Mr Bee (Christophe) who hosted us in Detroit and does the subtitles for my YouTube program as well.

Alia who helped us discovering the city

and all the people we met or crossed paths with during our trip.

Thank you!

bisous!

Review - Lego Classic: Red Creativity Box (10707) - Duration: 2:12.

Hey everyone!

JAYSTEPHER with Red Creativity Box

by Lego Classic.

Set number 10707.

Contains 55 pieces.

Recommended building ages are 4 through 99.

Oh wow! This looks exciting.

Nice colorful box art.

I hope that's not a bad sign!

I hope everything's in there.

So far. So good.

We got two bags of bricks

and a set of instructions.

Are these building instructions

or just full of ideas?

Okay so we do have some inspiration inside the manual.

Let's take a look at one of the builds.

On the left, we have a small windmill.

The blades do rotate.

In the middle, we have a small crab.

On the right, a small race car

that does roll.

It does roll smooth on a flat surface.

This is not a bad set.

Not a lot of play value.

It does have some nice bricks and plates

which could be used to enhanced an existing Lego collection

or as a source for spare parts.

This wraps up the review for Red Creativity Box

by Lego Classic.

Set number 10707.

Thank you for watching!
