GUEST: - Hello, Abraham!
My understanding of your teachings is that thought stimulates vibrations
which stimulates emotion
ABRAHAM: - But thought is vibration
GUEST: - Okay!
And you said that creation requires no action
And that the evidence will reveal itself
So here's my question...
ABRAHAM: - That's mostly right!
Thought and vibration are one in the same
And a practiced thought is a practiced vibration that equals a point of attraction
And if you keep it up for a little while
Then it becomes the reality
But the vibration is where you're wanting to put the emphasis and we are too
GUEST: - Uhum! Uhum!
So money doesn't grow on trees
It only comes from other people
And the only way to get money from other people is to either steal it or
To create value which people will pay for
So if people just sit on the couch thinking about what they desire
The money
And asking for the money
And giving off the vibrations
And feeling the emotion of receiving that money
That which they ask for
But they take no action to create any value which people will pay for
Then how is their income and money just going to come to them?
...if they take no action?
ABRAHAM: - Well, the flawed premises that you just spewed are abundant there
[audience laughs]
And first
Here's the biggest assumption that you are making that as we resolve it it will be easier to hear everything else
The first really major flawed premise in what you spoke here is that value only comes from action
And what is economy anyway?
In other words, who gets to decide that what you do for our living is only worth $8 an hour ?
And while what that one does for a living is worth $50 an hour?
And while that one does for a living is worth ten thousand or ten million dollars an hour?
Who gets to define that value anyway?
It's not very well defined, isn't?
And yet where did your economy come from?
Just a few hundred years ago, on this continent, you were trading beads and shells and a little bit of minerals
That was your basis
Jerry remembers when the gold standard was $35 an ounce
The gold standard
And everything was supposed to be sort of measured against that gold standard
There are no standards like that that remained consistently
Who gets to define value?
You're gonna come round to understanding that the only true value that you can ever reap the reward from
or experience the benefit off
Is the value of alignment with this energy that creates worlds
What kind of monetary value do you put on that?
Do you ever hear anyone say:
"Well, I've been so well for so many years and there are so many people out there who are sick...
"...and I've been using up all the wellness value for so long that I've decided that I'm going to be sick for a while...
"...to allow more sick people to be well.
"Because I've been getting more than my fair share of wellness."
You never say that, because you don't see it as a pile of something that can be divvied up
You accept that as a vibrational relationship in some way
You haven't really defined it
Humans say: "well, that was just unlucky in sickness and that one was just lucky in wellness."
But it's not like that at all!
There's a vibrational abundance that is being realized by some and denied by others
But they are all doing it to themselves, you see?
There's not a big pile of resources that you are divvying up
Somebody didn't set the monetary fiscal standard for the universe!
And there it all is out there and now you have to steal it or trade it
That is so old news!
This is a vibrational reality that you're moving into
And it is thought and alignment
Who do you think was paid for this earth that is now congealed and spinning in its orbit?
Who was paid for that?
Who scraped that value together?
And who was paid for it?
And who tends for it in its orbit?
In other words, there are so many things that you can't begin to explain through a platform like the one that you just presented to us here
And that platform is not serving anyone at all, you see?
So, now...
[Applause]
In other words, this is common wisdom
There isn't anything that you said... You didn't just make it up!
A whole lot of people believe that!
But now read it to us again and we're going to pick it apart
Line by line
So that you can feel what we're getting at
Just to start again.
GUEST: - Okay.
My understanding of your teachings is that thought stimulates vibrations
ABRAHAM: - Alright! So, now we've amended that "thought and vibration"
Thought is vibration!
And Law of Attraction brings more thought to it!
So, when I think this thought and I hold the frequency of it for as little as 17 seconds
Another thought like it is going to join it
And you're calling that stimulation of thought
And we say: "Yes!" When you keep a vibration going,
Law of Attraction is going to make it bigger and bigger and bigger
Whether it's something wanted or unwanted
It will get bigger by focused to it
GUEST: - And so you don't have to do anything? You can just sit there… ABRAHAM: - You have to focus!
GUEST: - Sit in the chair and focus like these...
ABRAHAM: - But...
GUEST: - And money is gonna… ABRAHAM: - But wait!
Now, wait! Now, wait!
Don't get there too soon! [audience laughs]
Focus, but focus is doing something!
Focus is harnessing the energy that creates worlds!
In other words, that's like saying "you don't have to do anything...
"You just have to focus and then the world will come into being."
Somebody did something!
Somebody did something!
Somebody focused!
Focus has value!
You can sit and focus out of the vortex and your life won't change at all!
You can sit and focus in the vortex and your life will change magnificently!
The power of your mind is the only power that matters
And all the other stuff you do is just for the pleasure of enhancing what you've really done with your mind
And all the real power is the focus
And for you to call that nothing could not be further from accurate
GUEST: - Ok! Alright!
ABRAHAM: - We are enjoying this, we want you to enjoy it too!
GUEST: - I... Oh... I'm loving it very much enjoying it!
Okay! So... Continuing...
Most people would like enough passive income, but...
ABRAHAM: - It's not about the action that you offer
It's about the alignment with the dream
It's about the alignment with the real resources
We're talking about tapping into the energy that creates worlds and flowing it through your experience
And and a really good place to start
Is to look around at the vast differences in the way people are living their lives
The people that are working the hardest, in terms of action, are receiving the least
And the people who are working the least, are receiving the most
How do you reconcile that?
Most don't!
Most just say that sucks!
Most just say there's injustice!
Most just say let's take the pie and split it up again
Let's take the pie and split it up again! Let's take the pie and split it up again
And it does not matter how many times you split that pie up
It will move into the vibrational places where Law of Attraction puts it
In other words, you just can't orchestrate it through action
It is a vibrational attraction or allowance that it is all about
Continue! Just a little bit...
We have two minutes!
GUEST: - Okay!
So, people want this income
I believe, so that they can be free to express their creativity
And in fulfill their deepest desires
ABRAHAM: - People want it, so that they will feel better.
You say: "they want it, so that they can satisfy this and this and this."
What they want is alignment!
And alignment brings money!
And what you're saying is: "they want the money, so that they can then observe alignment."
And we say: "they want the alignment, which will bring the money!"
What they want is the alignment!
What you want is to be in love!
What you want is to take a walk and feel your heart soaring
What you want is for music to move through your body
What you want is to be alive and brilliant and and have good timing
What you want is to be clever
What you want is to love
These are the things that you want
What you want is alignment!
All the other stuff is irrelevant!
And when you go for alignment first, then all the other trappings have to fill in around
It it is law!
ABRAHAM: - Okay!
So, the point of the whole entire question is just simply trying to understand how...
...you can create what you what you desire without taking physical action.
ABRAHAM: - And what we're saying is: "you've already created it!
...with all that you've been living!"
And it's waiting for you, offering a signal
And all you have to do is hone in on that signal
And you can tell when you're honing in because you're feeling better
And you can tell when you're getting closer 'cause you're feeling lighter
And you can tell when you've really honed in because you believe
And you can tell when you consistently honed in because you know
You just know life is good and you just know you're stable and you just expect it to be good
And now you're moving through life doing the action which is delicious
Doing the action that supports your knowledge of well-being
In other words, oh you'll get tuned in and you won't cease to act
We promise you, when you're tuned into the energy that creates worlds
The inspiration to call this person and go there
The inspiration will flow through you
You'll be the busiest most active person that you've ever known in your life
But the inspiration comes first and inspires the action
The action doesn't create

The Appalling Truth Behind Matt Lauer's Firing - Duration: 3:31.
On November 29th, 2017, Americans woke up to the shocking news that Matt Lauer, a staple
of the Today show for more than 20 years, had suddenly been fired by NBC News after
the organization received a complaint from a colleague about "Inappropriate sexual behavior
in the workplace."
The story has since left millions stunned and wondering what exactly took place.
Here's what we know so far.
According to a two-month investigation by Variety, three women have come forward as
alleged victims of Lauer's sexual harassment.
The allegations include Lauer giving one his colleagues an "adult" toy as a present, along
with an "explicit note" about how he wanted to use it on her.
A different female employee says he invited her into his office, dropped his pants, then
"reprimanded her" when she refused to "engage" with him in the way he wanted.
Lauer would also allegedly quiz female producers about who they'd slept with, as well as
being known for making make lewd comments verbally or via text messages, according to
more than 10 accounts.
NBC also confirms that the complaint that got him dismissed stemmed from inappropriate
sexual conduct from Lauer during his time in Russia covering the Sochi Olympics in 2014,
behavior which allegedly continued for several months.
News of Lauer's firing broke via a memo written by NBC News Chairman Andy Lack, which was
read at the top of the show by Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie.
Lack said that Lauer's behavior "...represented, after serious review, a clear violation of
our company's standards.
As a result, we've decided to terminate his employment."
Lack noted in his memo that while it was "...the first complaint about [Lauer's] behavior in
the over twenty years he's been at NBC News."
The network was "...also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated
incident."
CNN's Brian Stelter said Lauer "was informed of the network's decision late Tuesday night,
before he went to bed."
The complaint itself was filed Monday night, so NBC moved swiftly, terminating Lauer a
little more than a day after the network was made aware of the grievance.
NBC staffers, even those who had anchored Today alongside Lauer for years, found out
about his firing mere hours before they went on the air without him.
Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, who filled in for Lauer at the last minute, were faced
with the unenviable task of breaking the news about a colleague they both loved and respected
...
"We just learned this moments ago, just this morning.
As I'm sure you can imagine, we are devastated and we are still processing all of this."
"We were both woken up with the news, kind of pre-dawn, and we're trying to process it
and trying to make sense of it — and it'll take some time for that."
"I'm heartbroken for Matt — he is my dear, dear friend and my partner, and he is beloved
by many, many people here."
"It's hard to reconcile with what we are hearing with the man who we know, who walks in this
building every single day."
Lauer is just the latest prominent celebrity to see his career crumble following accusations
of sexual misconduct, and the second major morning show anchor this month.
About a week prior to Lauer's firing, CBS News fired Charlie Rose after eight women
alleged he made, "crude sexual advances" toward them.
Lauer has yet to comment on the allegations or his firing, but don't expect him to be
reporting the news again anytime soon.
As for the women who accused Lauer, their identities are unknown, as of the making of
this video.
After breaking the news, Savannah Guthrie noted the bravery of the woman who filed the
complaint Monday night, and the bravery of other women like her:
"I'm heartbroken for the brave colleague who came forward to tell her story, and any other
women who have their own stories to tell."

Moving to Merida, Mexico ? Walking Tour of Santiago My FAVORITE Neighborhood ! - Duration: 4:57.
What is going on members of the Barrio
Jon coming to you from Merida
We've got just three weeks left in the Yucatan
And we're going to be making videos enitrely on this region
Up until about Christmas
Definitley dig in for that.
I was going to go grocery shopping
But I thought I would bring my camera along with me
To show you guys around the neighborhood that I live in
And a neighborhood that I think is one of the best in all of Merida
Santiago
And I don't know even why i'm wearing sunglasses
There's no sun what's going on
I'm going to show you guys around a little bit
Nothing to crazy hope you enjoy the tour
This is the epicenter right here
Parque Santiago
Which is a great place to come and chill
Located right next to Iglesia de Santiago
This is probably the most iconic building
In the entire neighborhood
Don't know much about the history
But I do know that this is one of the oldest barrios
In all of Merida
This is probably the first time I've sat in this park
Just to relax.
I feel like i'm always on the go doing something
And maybe one of the best features about living in Merida
For a couple of months
Is the ability just to take a step back
Take a deep breath
I was in Mexico City and Puebla last week
This place feels a million times slower
Which is why I think it's so popular with many ex-pats
And many tourists
I think if you were to come to Merida for a short term period
Something like what I did
Or even for a week or two
I think Santiago is your best bet
Because we're about a 10 minute walk
From the center
But there's so much to do from this neighborhood
And so many charming little places
That I think it's a great spot to have your base
We're now walking through the market
Unfortuanetly just about everything is closed
There's some food vendors open
I do want to show you guys my favorite vendor
And i'm going to come back here and make a video
About these guys one day
We are coming across them right now
Their panuchos are absolutely amazing
I highly recommend this spot.
Do check out Mercado de Santiago
During the day
Especially earlire in the morning
Everything is fresh
We sometimes come here to get fruits
You can pick up certain types of meat here
You can't get fish unfortunetly
We tried
Definitley worth a visit
This Cinemex here is ridiculously cheap
I think even by Mexican standards
It's about 2 or 3 dollars for a movie
We did that vlog about the VIP cinema
We were about to see Coco here
And it actually sold out
Adriana was very dissapointed
Another thing that I absolutely love about Merida.
Is the architecture.
You see this in Santiago, you see this all over the city
Colors everywhere
Charming old buildings
Very relaxed, everything is pretty chill here
I'm actually trying to walk a few blocks
Away from where I live
To explore a few streets that I've actually
Never seen before
We can do this together
Isn't this street absolutely beautiful
It kind of reminds of Trinidad, Cuba a little bit
Minus the new cars
And the paved roads
Alright any local watching this video
Or someone who's lived in Merida for a long time
I need your help
I see these sort of things all over town
They're on street corners
What do they mean?
By now you've probably got a pretty good idea what this neighborhood is like.
Why I think it's so cool.
So charming
What i've actually been told is that a lot of foreigners
Are moving to Santiago
And buying up houses
And kind of restoring them
You do see a mix of really nicely newly restored
Properties..
Some of them look a little bit older
But I think it just adds to the charm of this awesome neighborhood
I don't know Merida well enough to tell you
That Santiago is the place to live
But I will say for somebody who's only here for a couple of months
I've had no regrets
PIcking this area to live
Cafes, movie theater.
Some art galleries
Lots of restaurants.
Highly recommend you come here
Even if you're just visiting Merida
For a couple of days
That's all I've got for this video
Hope you enjoyed. I know those dogs over there
Definitley enjoyed the vlog
Those are some loyal subscribers right there
Make sure you're subscribed
If you are new here
Appreciate everything
I've got another month in the Yucatan
Thank you so much for watching

How to Set Up and Use the Elite Pro Tournament Headset - Duration: 6:03.
(upbeat dubstep music)
- Hey everyone, I'm Jason from Turtle Beach.
And in this video, I'm gonna show you how to set up
and use the Elite Pro Tournament Gaming Headset
with Xbox One and PS4.
Additionally, I'll show you some of the other
Elite Pro accessories you can add
to your Elite Pro ecosystem.
First, let's connect the Elite Pro's Pro Gaming Microphone
by pushing it into the spot on the left ear cup
of the headset.
Be sure to press the mic firmly into place
to ensure a good connection.
You'll hear a solid snap,
indicating that the mic is properly seated,
and at that point, you should be able to easily adjust
and rotate the mic into the correct position,
just to the side of your mouth,
a couple of inches away, for best performance.
Connecting included Breakaway Audio Cable
to the short cable hanging from the Elite Pro Headset's
left ear cup.
Be sure to line up the orange stripes on the audio cable
with the corresponding slots on the connector.
When done correctly, you'll be able to clearly see
the orange stripes.
Convenient, inline controls are also located
on the Breakaway Audio Cable,
providing quick access to mic mute and master volume.
One of the best features of the Elite Pro Headset
is extreme comfort.
The Comfortect Fit System provides two methods
of adjusting the Elite Pro Fit,
which allows for independent adjustment
of both tension and size.
With the headset in your hands,
adjust the sliders on top of the headband toward
the center for a looser fit,
and toward the ear cups for a tighter fit.
This is a fine-tuned adjustment,
which will be felt more over longer gaming sessions.
The Comfortech Fit System also has three different
size adjustments that can be changed by pulling up
or down on the ear cups.
The size setting can be checked by using
the small indicator hole on the side
of the headset's ear cup.
Size one is the smallest size,
size two is the medium size,
and size three is the largest setting.
Turtle Beach's patented Prospecs Glasses Relief System
creates a special channel
in the Elite Pro Headset's ear cushions
for your glasses to pass through,
to reduce pressure on the frame.
To remove the ear cushions, hold the ear cushion firmly
with one hand and the rubberized orange ring
on your headset with the other hand.
Rotate the ear cushion counter-clockwise to remove it.
It might be tight the first time,
but you'll get the hang of it.
Look for the little, plastic pull tab with holes in it
and a small, plastic hole.
Pull the tab to the last hole
and reattach to the post to create a deeper
or shallower channel in the ear cushion,
depending on the size of your glasses frame.
By default, the adjustment is set to the shallowest setting.
Once you get the ear cushion seated correctly
in the ear cup, rotate the ear cushion clockwise,
until you hear and feel an audible click,
indicating the ear cushion has locked back into place.
Now you can make whatever final adjustments are needed
for your perfect fit, and we can connect to our console.
There are two ways to connect your Elite Pro Headset
to your Xbox One.
Directly through the controller,
if you have an Xbox One controller
with a 3.5 millimeter jack,
or via the Elite Pro Tactical Audio Adapter,
if you have an older Xbox One controller
that doesn't have the 3.5 millimeter jack.
Let's get your Elite Pro Headset connected
to your Xbox One controller.
This is for the latest Xbox One controllers
with the 3.5 millimeter headset jack.
Connect the Elite Pro's 3.5 millimeter plug,
directly to the Xbox One controller.
Adjust the inline volume control
and check to make sure the mic is not muted.
Now, go to the Xbox One home screen,
navigate all the way to the left,
and then down to the Settings' gear icon.
First, make sure headset volume is at the maximum setting.
Next, set headset chat mixer to your preferred
game chat balance level.
Finally, set mic monitoring to your preferred level.
Mic monitoring allows you to hear your own voice
in the headset, which helps you avoid shouting
at other players.
The second way to connect your Elite Pro Headset
to your Xbox One is by using
the Elite Pro Tactical Audio Adapter.
This is for older Xbox controllers
that don't have the 3.5 millimeter jack.
The Tactical Audio Adapter is sold separately
and beyond letting you connect your Elite Pro Headset
to your older Xbox One controller,
it also offers a few additional features,
including independent game chat audio controls,
Superhuman Hearing, and Dynamic Chat Boost.
When using the Tactical Audio Adapter,
be sure to use the included audio cable that comes with it.
The one without the inline controls, to be clear.
Connect the new Breakaway Audio Cable
into the short cable hanging from the left ear cup
of the Elite Pro headset.
Connect the other end of the Elite Pro Breakaway Audio Cable
into the 3.5 millimeter jack on the front
of the Tactical Audio Adapter.
Turtle Beach always recommends using
an official Xbox One wireless controller
for best performance.
Wired, official Xbox One controllers
and third-party wired controllers connected via USB,
can result in a subpar audio experience,
including static and audio artifacts.
For use with the PS4, first connect your Elite Pro
directly into the PS4 controller's
3.5 millimeter headset jack.
Adjust the inline volume control
and check to make sure the mic is not muted.
Before using the headset,
make sure your headset settings are correct.
Starting from the PS4 home menu, navigate to Settings,
Devices, Audio Devices.
First, set Input and Output Device
to Connected to Controller.
Then, set the Volume Control level
on your headphones to maximum.
Next, set Output to Headphones to All Audio.
Finally, select Adjust Microphone Level
and follow the onscreen instructions
to calibrate your microphone.
The Elite Pro A.M.P. for PS4 is an optional accessory
for connecting your Elite Pro to your PS4,
and is sold separately.
With the A.M.P. added, gamers experience powerful,
amplified audio from your PS4,
plus mic monitoring so you can hear your own voice
inside the headset.
Thanks for watching our Elite Pro Headset setup video.
If you have any questions,
please check the Turtle Beach support pages, listed below.

BREAKING: It's Over For North Korea After What Furious Trump Just Did To Take Out Tyrant Dictator - Duration: 4:38.
BREAKING: It's Over For North Korea After What Furious Trump Just Did To Take Out Tyrant
Dictator.
Although Trump is notoriously outspoken, his most serious plans have been kept under wraps
on this issue until it accidentally got out when a camera caught the shocking note on
his desk written in all caps with a big black marker.
This definitely indicates the end of our nemesis in North Korea.
After months of threats and tests, North Korea's despot dictator, Kim Jong-un, flexed his muscles
and launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) this week, then followed it
up with an announcement that he wasn't done.
Hours after the launch, it was revealed that the little "Rocket Man" is actually capable
of hitting the Washington, D.C. and much of the east coast as proven by the outcome of
this latest missile test.
There's nothing he would love more than to what he's been working up to for years,
regardless of the ramifications which he's about to experience with the full wrath of
President Donald Trump who isn't messing around.
Kim Jong has taken the taunting too far and messed with the wrong leader who isn't dancing
around this dictator like Barack Obama would have.
Not since the Cuban missile crisis of the early 60s, when John F. Kennedy was president
and we were in the middle of the Cold War with the Soviet Union, have we been so close
total global annihilation.
US Secretary of Defence James Mattis in a statement earlier today confirmed that the
fetus looking Dictator of North Korea, Kim Jong-un has now fired its highest-ever intercontinental
ballistic missile and it poses a dire worldwide threat.
Later the Pentagon confirmed that the missile had flown for about 1,000km (620 miles) before
falling into the Sea of Japan.
Trump was quick to address the issue to reporters in the Roosevelt Room of the White House a
few hours after the missile streaked across Korean and Japanese skies when a photographer
unintentionally caught what he's been keeping secret.
The Daily Mail reports:
President Donald Trump had handwritten notes in black marker and all capital letters in
front of him on Tuesday when he revealed news of North Korea's latest missile launch.
The piece of paper was spotted on the table in front of Trump as he addressed reporters
in the Roosevelt Room of the White House a few hours after the missile streaked across
Korean and Japanese skies.
"MISSILE WAS LAUNCHED FROM NORTH KOREA – WILL TAKE CARE OF IT," the note read.
Not straying far from his notes, Trump then told reporters: "A missile was launched
a little while ago from North Korea.
I will only tell you that we will take care of it.
It is a situation that we will handle."
These are never words we would have heard from Trump's predecessor on the matter since
he had eight years of missile tests from North Korea to do something about it and didn't.
That exceptionally lame duck style leadership is long over and things are about to get really
serious since Trump will not allow this silly little dictator to make a fool of him or America.
After yesterday's missile launch from North Korea the stakes couldn't be higher, especially
now that tensions are growing over new information that the missile was the largest and most
powerful to date.
According to a CNBC report, the latest missile has the capability of hitting the eastern
seaboard including Washington D.C. and needs to be taken seriously.
President Trump didn't mince word during his speech on Tuesday where he had just spoken
with General Mattis and that "they were going to handle the situation in North Korea."
Nobody can blame Trump for taking action now as he has exhausted all efforts to steer North
Korea away from its nuclear ambitions by applying the strictest possible sanctions against Kim
Jung Un's evil empire.
He has also had China and Russia apply pressure as well, but Kim Jung-un continues unfazed.
The only thing that has changed in North Korea is that their people are suffering.
With no electricity and very little food, the N.Korean people can only hope that something
changes soon.
According to President Trump, the time for restraint seems to be over, and this isn't
a president that messes around.
As Syria saw earlier this year when Trump rained cruise missiles down on an airstrip
where chemical weapons were launched from.
The world is watching, we all know for certain Trump won't stand by and hope Kim Jung Un
doesn't launch a nuclear warhead, as Obama and other leaders have done in the past.
As President Trump finished his speech yesterday with a smile on his face and general Mattis
at his side, it was as if he had just said – "hold my beer."
what do you think about this?

Cyberpunk 2077 Devs talk about CD Projekt Red - Duration: 24:33.
Greetings earthlings! welcome to the MadQueen Show!
I am your host the MadQueen
On today's menu, our Industry Invaders episode is going to dive into the controversy of
CD Projekt Red developers and their working conditions
It all started with a video about Glassdoor reviews,
talking about the hard working conditions at CD Projekt Red
This video, that for some was very hard to believe due to the little credibility of the
sources and for others was proof enough to question the practices at the studio
This video, gave way to a second, more documented video with first-hand experiences of two developers
working there, that revealed what it was like for them to work in such a high-pressure environment
And to be completely honest, I thought the first video was bullshit the moment I saw
it, poorly documented and also a poor excuse to suck some views out of an easy controversy,
and as such I did express so in a video and for this reason, I'd like to extend an apology
to YongYea, author of these two videos, as you proved me wrong with the second one, I
still disagree with a good part of it for the reasons that I will explain in this video,
although disagreeing is healthy, but when a fellow YouTuber does a great documentation
work like you did, the only feeling I have for it is respect
The problem with all this controversy, at least the way I see it, is that we're talking
about the experiences of two developers, which under my point of view is too small of a sample
to get a broad and realistic vision of what's going on, so to learn the truth about what
we saw there, I looked for, and interviewed 43 former and current developers at CDPR,
from different nationalities, different departments and different levels of expertise, working
on either The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 or both
For obvious reasons the identity or position of these employees will remain anonymous,
and for those who don't know what these obvious reasons are: they have a Non Disclosure
Agreement that includes a clause that prevents them from speaking about what's going on
in the studio, not only about the features or details about current projects, so to avoid
any possible consequences for them, as some are still working there and they could lose
the job they adore, all measures will be taken to avoid any possible identification when
talking about their experience
The gaming industry is a tough one
No great results are achieved without hard work and crunches, and most developers are
more than happy to work as hard as possible, overtime, long crunches, weekends, everything
is great as long as they have the opportunity to create a great game
In the words of a senior developer working at The Witcher 3, and I quote,
And he was not the only one with that thought, as a fellow senior developer at Witcher 3 said:
No one disagrees that gaming is a hard industry: in the words of a senior developer working
on Cyberpunk 2077
All this said before he explained to me how CD Projekt pays the overtime or made a generous
bonus to developers after The Witcher 3 was completed, that, in his case, was more than
a year worth of salary
But not everybody at CD Projekt shares this enthusiastic and positive view of the working
conditions, the 47% of employees interviewed believe that CD might have gone a little too
far with pressure and crunches
In the words of a Senior Developer at The Witcher 3:
This experience is shared by other developers during this game
At the end of The Witcher 3, the morale at the studio wasn't great, as described by a Senior Developer
Another Senior Developer at the Witcher 3 adds
The last years of The Witcher 3 seemed to be a tough moment for developers.
A senior developer at The Witcher 3 said:
What could be the reason for these deadlines impossible to meet?
How is it that the great experience that a percentage of the employees transmit it's
so different to the ones that were burnt out, and while some developers enjoyed the experience
some others found it so frustrating?
Because in here we're talking about experienced developers, who worked in majors before and
know how this industry works, in both cases
Well, one of the patterns that emerged is that the way employees perceive their work
environment depends a lot on what department the employee is in and
the management of such department
In the words of a Senior Developer at The Witcher 3
The difference of departments is something that a Senior Developer at Cyberpunk 2077
explained to me very clearly
This way of escalating positions on the company based on relations more than merit was something
that caught the eyes of some developers, that even gave it a funny name
But they didn't find that funny when these battles amongst leads to escalate were put
before the project and lower level employees had to suffer the consequences
As a senior developer at the Witcher 3 said:
An experienced Senior developer on The Witcher 3 who was also a team leader, explained it this way:
A fellow Senior Developer explained it this way
Another Developer adds
Another Developer at The Witcher 3 added
The Witcher 3 was released and some developers left the company and others stayed to continue
working on Cyberpunk 2077
A good portion of them were happy with their experience at The Witcher 3, feeling proud
of being part of what it's been called "one of the best games of all time", but left
the company for different motivations, from personal and familiar, to wanting to continue
their career in other exciting projects.
In the words of a Senior Developer working for The Witcher 3:
others were tired and emotionally exhausted, they felt mistreated and some even fell into depression
As I said before, the portion of employees interviewed that left the company in bad terms
at the end of The Witcher 3 is a minority, but this doesn't mean that they don't
exist or their experiences should be hidden below the carpet of The Witcher 3 success
With The Witcher 3 shipped, developers received a generous bonus from the company and those
who stayed for Cyberpunk 2077 saw a significant increase in their pay
Once developers started working on Cyberpunk, those who had bad experiences during The Witcher
3 hoped that things were going to be better, since the first year of development of Cyberpunk
2077 seemed to be so encouraging and motivating for developers who participated in it, but
unfortunately, the "Game of Thrones" between managers that made the life impossible to
some departments of CD Projekt Red entered into a new season: the clash between the management
of The Witcher 3 and the management of Cyberpunk 2077
In the words of a senior developer at Cyberpunk
Another developer adds
And here, I believe it comes the part you wanted to hear
And no, it's not the release date
After this harsh beginning, at this point right now, most of the employees interviewed
that are currently working on Cyberpunk 2077 stated that the morale at the studio was,
in general terms, way better
It seems that, at least for the departments of the employees interviewed, the crunch stopped
at the reach of a very important milestone that was announced earlier this month.
Not only that, in the words of a Senior Developer working on Cyberpunk:
Another developer adds
Even though they seem to be doing OK, it's true that some didn't take very well the
response of CD Projekt Red to the criticism of former developers
In the words of a developer:
Other developer adds
And another added
But it's also important to note that a good portion of the employees interviewed believe
that this controversy is blown out of proportion, and, in words of a developer on Cyberpunk
Employees at CD Projekt Red that are currently working on Cyberpunk 2077 seem to acknowledge
that there's an issue in the company, but they still believe in what they are doing.
In the words of a developer:
The general image you have when you mix the experience of all these employees is the picture
of a company with a good heart that way too many times succumbed to pressure.
We don't want to see again something similar to The Witcher 3, where, in the words of a
Senior Developer
No wonder why they don't want to reveal the release date
They have the pressure of the budget, the pressure of the quality and the pressure of
the gaming community, and we have a lot to do here.
We're constantly told that we're a very toxic community, are we?
I mean, it's true that is has toxic elements, and usually, they are the ones that make more
noise, so their number seems way bigger but, remember what we just did, a couple of weeks ago?
When we united together for a good cause?
We stood together against abusive practices and to protect kids from gambling
And remember what happened?
We made one of the biggest companies in the industry to step back on their business strategy
Disney itself had to bow down
Several governments of the world are now investigating if loot crates should fall into gambling legislation
or if they require another type of control or even if they may be forbidden.
We did that.
Would you call that toxic?
I would call it fucking amazing
We're powerful together
And we can do good
That's why I'd love that you unite with me and help me spread this message that we
have for CD Project Red:
Dear CD Projekt,
We trust you
Your commitment to delivering the best quality games is beyond question
We believe that you won't mess with us with pay-to-win bullshit
We trust you because you don't treat us like brainless kids, and because we can see
how much care you put into the products you deliver to us
We're so excited to see Cyberpunk 2077, but we don't want to pressure you into hurrying
and making rushed decisions because you feel like you don't have time to stop and think
We can wait
We are hyped for this game—hyped as fuck!—but
we can wait
We care about your developers, the people who put so much time and effort into creating
the games we love
They don't get enough praise for all the hard work they do
Sometimes, they may feel forgotten by the community, but it's not true.
We do think about them and care about them.
We want every single one of them to feel respected for their talent, their expertise, their passion
and the sacrifices they make for us
We can wait
Please take good care of your developers, and stay being amazing!

Destiny 2 Lore The Fulminator, Shadow of Calus - Duration: 12:32.
Calus gestured towards the crackling Arc storm before him.
The energy mass shivered, tethered to a golden spindle in the center of the chamber.
"You are marvelous," he said to the Arkborn.
His eyes drank in the flickering light, reflecting nothing.
"You will cast a glorious Shadow."
A panel on the wall lit: THIS SHIP IS TINY.
Welcome back Guardians, today we are continuing with the Shadows of Calus series.
If you are new to this series, you can watch them in any order, a link will be below to
the other episode about Rull.
Essentially, the Shadows of Calus are different species that Calus recruited into his Empire
to enact his revenge on Dominus Ghaul.
They act as assassins, killing anyone who helped Dominus Ghaul's military coup.
Each raid set from the Leviathan normal mode tells the story of a different Shadow of Calus,
and today we are covering the Arkborn, and specifically a character called the Fulminator,
which featured in the Warlock raid gear.
As usual I will be livestreaming over on Twitch when this video is released, a link will be
below.
Also, the artwork in today's video was provided by Gammatrap.
Thank you to everyone who donated on Patreon, all donations go towards paying Gammatrap
for his time.
Patreons also receive lots of digital artwork as part of their rewards.
This is myelin games and I hope you enjoy this latest Destiny 2 lore episode.
[INTRO] Like all of the Raid lore, if you have the
full armor set, you can read each lore tab starting with the Helm and finishing with
the class item and it will tell the story in chronological order.
So, lets start with the Mask of the Fulminator from the Warlock set, it reads,
Calus gestured towards the crackling Arc storm before him.
The energy mass shivered, tethered to a golden spindle in the center of the chamber.
"You are marvelous," he said to the Arkborn.
His eyes drank in the flickering light, reflecting nothing.
"You will cast a glorious Shadow."
A panel on the wall lit up in Cabal: THIS SHIP IS TINY.
The emperor threw his head back and guffawed.
"Compared to the interstellar conduits of your people anything would seem small.
The Leviathan is formidable in its own right, I assure you."
LEAVE MY PEOPLE BE.
I WILL SERVE.
"Of course.
You are all I need.
Your very presence eviscerates flesh."
He gestured, and a metallic shell lowered from the darkness above.
Now the Fulminator was free to walk the decks of her new flagship.
This item describes a species known as the Arkborn, which appears to be sentient energy,
sentient Ark energy.
This is confirmed in the flavour text for the Mask of the Fulminator which reads,
"How does one convince a creature of pure, sentient energy to pledge her loyalty?
The agency to leave home is intoxicating for anyone."
— Calus, Emperor of the Cabal The Fulminator, which appears to be a leader
of the Arkborn is aboard the Leviathan speaking with Calus, and criticises the Leviathan for
being a small ship!
So you can only imagine the magnitude of their interstellar conduits which Calus describes.
The lore tab for the Mask of the Fulminator also seems to imply that Calus is somehow
holding the Arkborn hostage, forcing the Fulminator to work for Calus, as the Fulminator communicates
through Cabal writing, "Leave my people be.
I will serve."
We don't really know how Calus is threatening the Arkborn, but the Boots of the Fulminator
says that Calus recruited the Shadows through Bribery and promises of wealth.
Whilst it talks about Calus providing gifts to the Shadows of Calus this is likely not
the exact truth, as Rull and Jarus, both other shadows of Calus were recruited into Calus's
empire after their entire battalion was destroyed.
For example, Rull was the lone warrior to survive and make it to Calus's throne room
aboard the Leviathan, it was then that he was recruited into the Shadows.
The Mask of the Fulminator ends with Calus providing a suit of armor to "contain"
the Fulminator, I imagine that the ark energy just fills the armour and it is the amour
itself that really gives the appearance of the Fulminator.
We do not know what this armor looks like, however we have based the design upon that
of the Warlock Raid gear.
Continuing with the story, the Wraps of the Fulminator explains how the Councillors of
Calus, which I assume are the Psions we see throughout the raid, designed the armor for
the fulminator but could not finish it because of the immense power the fulminator emanated.
The Wraps flavor text reads, "Before my Councilors and I could finalize
her containment armor, the very presence of the Fulminator assaulted the senses.
She was breathtaking."
—Calus, Emperor of the Cabal The Wraps of the Fulminator describes an assassination
mission completed by the Fulminator once recruited into Calus's shadows.
The Fulminator tracks a statesman called Tha'uul, who played a part in the military coup against
Calus.
The last moment of the statesman is described in the Wraps of the Fulminator and the first
sentence of the Robes of the Fulminator, it reads as follows,
He had no idea she was still there.
He thought he had outrun her, but the Arkborn knew that bipeds rarely look up.
She hovered far above her target, specific limiters on her armor disabled so that Arc
could flow freely and lift her to the heavens.
Below, the statesman had chosen a brightly lit street that led to a dead end on the left
turn in front of him.
She descended.
The charred husk that was Statesman Tha'uul had revealed several things before he expired.
The Fulminator electrocutes the Cabal to the point were only a charred Husk remains.
Apparently before being killed the Statesman revealed that the Fulminator looked like a
Warlock stormcaller, the item reads, He had mistaken her for a "warrior of the
Light," one of their "storm bringers" who apparently bore a resemblance to the Fulminator.
She wished to see one of them.
No biped was ever anything like her.
She felt something like regret when Tha'uul said his people were mobilizing to annihilate
them.
The fact that the statesman mistakes the Fulminator for a stormcaller is one of the reasons to
why we made the Fulminator look like a Stormcaller warlock, essentially, this Sentient ark energy
wearing a suit of armour making it look like a Guardian.
Moving to the next item.
The Robes of the Fulminator lore tab continues to explain the overall goal of the Shadows
of Calus, apart from assassinating targets that were involved with Ghaul's military
coup, the goal of the Shadows of Calus was to also assassinate Ghaul himself.
The lore tab reads, Now that the military was in power, in Calus's
absence, military parades on Cabal worlds were commonplace.
Ghaul's flagship would take part in one such celebration, on Resignation Day, in the fringes
of the Sol system, in honor of a mythic Praetor.
That was where the Shadows would kill the Dominus.
The Boots of the Fulminator continues with the story to assassinate Dominus Ghaul with
the Shadows upon a ship enroute.
The boots lore tab also emphases how loyal the Shadows of Calus had become to Calus,
it reads, The Fulminator noticed a difference in her
fellow Shadows as they prepared for war.
The usual bickering, fostered by the multispecies makeup of Calus's enforcer group, vanished
overnight as they faced the task they had gathered to complete: kill Dominus Ghaul.
Calus had recruited them through bribery or promises of wealth and resources for their
homeworlds.
None of them expected to survive their mission.
The might of the Red Legion had grown vast.
This acceptance brought them together.
The Fulminator didn't understand, or care.
As long as Calus left the Arkborn to their interstellar conduits, she would do what she
had done since the day she came aboard the Leviathan: destroy the enemies of the emperor.
The Boots tab is important for a number reasons, but most importantly it reinforces how the
Shadows are multiple species, and that Calus has essentially assembled a team of the strongest
warriors from each species.
The Shadow's bond finishes the Story of the Fulminator as they assault Ghaul's ship
in an attempt to assassinate him.
The lore tab reads, Jarus's fighter soared like a blade into the
throat of the Dominus's command ship.
They hoped it wouldn't matter.
Jarus died on impact.
The Shadows burst forth from his shattered vessel, the Fulminator leading the charge.
Every limiter on her armor was undone.
The unrelenting fury of her being loosed onto the bridge would permanently disable her.
She would still exist, but couldn't anchor herself or manipulate anything around her.
She would scatter to the winds.
Navigation displays exploded in a shower of sparks as she passed.
The storm she had become reached an apex of intensity, and she reached out to scores of
Cabal and swallowed them and she felt them die.
She wrapped Ghaul in her light, enervated him in bursts of flaring Arc.
She was fading.
He would die.
Wouldn't he?
The lore tab finishes with the Fulminator encompassing Ghaul in ark energy, she opens
the limiters on her armour allowing her ark energy to flow freely as a weapon, however
she begins to feel herself fade, and unlike the previous Cabal that she just killed, she
begins to question whether she can in fact kill Ghaul.
Obviously Guardian, we know the outcome, the Fulminator must have failed, her spark extinguished,
the storm passed…
Ghaul lived, well, lived until he faced a real warrior of the light.
That concludes the story of the Fulminator, a truly unique shadow of callus, essentially
sentient Ark energy that Calus recruited to assassinate his enemies.
If you would like to support the channel, leave a like and the word, Arkborn.
As usual it has been a pleasure, this is Myelin games peace.

How a Sick Chimp Led to a Global Pandemic: The Rise of HIV - Duration: 10:20.
Here at SciShow, we talk a lot about the fascinating, complicated, and often very weird stories
of discovery and collaboration that led to the science we know today.
But one of the strangest is something we haven't covered in much detail before, and it's a
biggie: the decades it took to figure out exactly what HIV and AIDS were, and how to
prevent and treat them.
Since the start of the AIDS crisis, some 70 million people have been infected with HIV,
and 35 million of those people have died.
Both those numbers are staggering in their own way, and together, they tell the story
of a disease that has led to an incredible amount of loss, but also one that — if you're
lucky enough to have access to the right medicines — is no longer a death sentence.
So, in honor of World AIDS Day on December 1, we want to tell you that story.
There's a lot to cover, so we'll do it in two parts.
This episode, we'll go over how we figured out what HIV is, when the infection morphs
into AIDS, and where we think the virus came from.
Next time, we'll look back to the earliest treatments, the arrival of antiretroviral
drugs, which were complete game-changers, and go over the creative ways scientists are
now thinking about prevention and possibly even a cure.
But first, the basics.
HIV, or human immunodeficiency virus, is a retrovirus that infects immune cells, most
notably what are known as CD4 T cells.
The "retrovirus" part just means that the virus uses RNA — DNA's more wily,
less stable cousin — as its genetic material, and that once HIV infects a cell, it makes
a DNA version of its genome with a special enzyme, then inserts that DNA into the host genome.
If that sounds sneaky — well, it is.
And it's part of why HIV has been so difficult to treat, which we'll talk about more next time.
Now, those CD4 T cells that HIV infects and ultimately kills are a kind of white blood
cell known as 'helper' T cells.
When they recognize a threat, they pump out proteins that help coordinate a bunch of different
immune responses.
You definitely want them around.
HIV is spread by bodily fluids, including blood, semen, vaginal fluid, and breast milk.
That's why HIV can be transmitted through sex, dirty needles, breastfeeding, and any
other swapping of fluids you might do — with a major exception: saliva isn't one of those fluids.
Saliva is full of other stuff that prevents HIV from being infectious, like antibodies
and a bunch of antimicrobial proteins.
So unless there's a lot of blood in your saliva for some reason, it can't transmit HIV.
When someone is first infected, they might feel like they have a bout of the flu, with
a fever, headache, rash, sore throat, and muscle and joint pain.
That's because the virus is infecting lots of cells and the immune system is trying to
fight it off.
But within a few weeks those symptoms pass because by then the person has specific antibodies
that can keep the virus from running totally rampant.
After that, they usually feel fine for a long time — in many cases, a really long time,
like several decades.
Until, one day, they don't, because the virus has finally killed off too many T cells,
leaving the body unable to properly defend itself against pathogens — anything that
might be dangerous or infectious.
That's when someone is said to have AIDS, or acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
Usually AIDS is diagnosed once the person's T cell count falls below 200 cells per microliter
of blood, which is well below the normal 500-1500, or if they develop what's called an opportunistic infection.
These are infections that anyone with a reasonably strong immune system would be able to fight
off, easy-peasy.
But because HIV has obliterated most of their T cells, AIDS patients get sick.
And, they can die.
Most of the time it's an opportunistic infection that killed them.
So, some of that was probably familiar to you, but pretend for a moment that you've
never heard of HIV or anything else I just mentioned.
Because back in the '80s, we didn't know these basic facts.
All doctors knew was that suddenly, healthy young gay men were developing extremely rare
infections and cancers — and, it was killing them.
One of the first people to notice the pattern was an immunologist at UCLA.
Between the fall of 1980 and the following spring, he saw a string of five patients,
all gay men in their 20s or 30s, with an unusual kind of pneumonia.
There was a fungus growing inside their lungs.
Normally, the fungus was totally harmless and would never infect the lungs, but in these
men it had, and it was making it hard for them to breathe.
The patients also had oral thrush — basically yeast infections in their mouths — and few
CD4 T cells.
By June, when the immunologist wrote up the results for the CDC's weekly Mortality and
Morbidity report, two patients had died.
A month later, a dermatologist in New York chimed in with a similarly disturbing report,
this time with Kaposi's sarcoma, a rare cancer where patients develop blotchy purple
lesions on their skin.
In two and a half years, 26 young gay men in New York and LA had been diagnosed with Kaposi's.
Some also had the weird fungal pneumonia, and 8 had died.
It's hard to imagine now, but at this point, scientists had no idea what was making people sick.
They didn't know if it was some sort of toxin or a pathogen.
And if it was an infection of some kind, they didn't know how it was spreading.
That meant they couldn't warn people about how to protect themselves.
The association with gay men, though, was certainly striking, and early on, many called
the mystery disease GRID, for gay-related immune deficiency.
Lots of people would talk about it as the "gay cancer" or "gay plague."
But the disease wasn't limited to gay men.
It was turning up in hemophiliacs — people whose blood doesn't clot properly and are
treated with clotting factors taken from other people's blood.
Doctors were also seeing cases in IV drug users, women, infants, and heterosexual men.
In particular, 20 recent immigrants from Haiti had gotten sick, and none said they were gay.
Those clues were important, because they told scientists the disease — which had finally
been given the name AIDS — was probably infectious, and probably transmitted by blood.
There were other diseases that spread in similar ways, like hepatitis B.
So in March of 1983, the CDC issued a warning that doctors needed to be careful about blood
transfusions, and that the disease seemed to spread through both gay and straight sex.
Debates about the specifics, including whether it could spread through saliva, would happen later.
But what was the infectious agent?
The race was on for scientists to figure out what was causing the disease.
French molecular biologist Luc Montagnier suspected a virus because at the time, the
blood products hemophiliacs used were filtered for things like bacteria and fungi.
But viruses were too small to catch.
So along with his colleague Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, he searched cells taken from AIDS patients
and found a retrovirus.
Around the same time, Robert Gallo at the NIH in the US also identified a retrovirus
in samples from AIDS patients.
Both groups published their work in May 1983, and shortly afterward another team found yet
another retrovirus.
All the viruses had been given different names, and at first, it's wasn't totally obvious
that they were the same thing.
But they were, and in 1986, the cause of AIDS had been given an official name: HIV.
So, HIV was the problem, but where had it come from, and why had the epidemic struck
now, in the decade of big hair and Michael Jackson?
While some researchers were scrambling to identify whatever it was that made AIDS infectious,
others noticed that macaque monkeys also seemed to suffer from an AIDS-like disease.
One group decided to take some blood samples from these sick monkeys, and in 1985 they
found a virus that was similar to HIV.
It was eventually called SIV, for simian immunodeficiency virus.
Researchers started to think that HIV might have come from our primate relatives, jumping
the species barrier.
After a lot of work, they figured out that the virus behind the epidemic was very similar
to the chimpanzee version of SIV, and they were the ones who had passed it to us.
But how exactly?
There's no real way to put this delicately, but most scientists agree that the reason
why SIV made the leap into humans — what's called a spillover — is because we had a
taste for bushmeat, or wild game.
In this case, monkeys and chimps.
This is known as the cut-hunter hypothesis.
In the course of butchering a chimpanzee, some SIV-infected chimp blood enters a small
cut on the hunter's hand.
Or, a bit of blood splatters in their mouth.
The virus is close enough to human biology to infect the hunter, and over time, if the
hunter passes the virus along to enough people, it evolves into the HIV we know today.
Spillovers like these happened many times — we can tell because the virus mutates
quickly, and by looking at genetic differences, we can identify multiple lineages of the virus,
each one corresponding to a spillover.
We've traced the current epidemic to just one of these, called 'M' for main.
By analyzing chimpanzee pee and poop, researchers think the chimps who passed that version of
the virus to us lived in southwestern Cameroon, in the forests near the Congo.
And based on the oldest blood samples we can find that we now know have HIV in them, which
are from 1959 and 1960, scientists estimate that HIV-1 first infected humans around 1908.
If that seems like a long time ago, well, it takes a while for a virus to take off.
By the 1920s, it's thought that the virus traveled downriver — in a person, of course
— to the burgeoning city of Kinshasa, then known as the Belgian colonial city of Leopoldville.
There weren't many women around other than prostitutes, so experts think HIV spread that
way, and possibly through injectable drugs the colonists used to treat some tropical
and venereal diseases.
This was before disposable syringes, and nurses were trying to treat lots of people with just
a few of them, so the syringes may have only been rinsed with alcohol before being used
on the next patient.
So the very methods meant to stop the spread of disease may have actually been encouraging it.
With time, infected people in Kinshasa left to go to other places, and they did the unavoidable:
they brought the virus with them.
Because the virus mutates so quickly, we can group the viruses into 9 different subtypes
and get a sense of how HIV traveled around the world from Central Africa.
Several subtypes spread to other parts of Africa.
Subtype C went south and then landed in India.
Subtype B went to Haiti — and then, through several quirks of history, came to the US.
First, in 1960, when the Belgians left the Congo, French-speaking Haitians started to
arrive in the Congo to work as doctors, lawyers, and other professionals.
But with the creation of Zaire in 1965, the immigrants felt unwelcome, so they went back
to Haiti, bringing HIV with them.
There, HIV expanded especially quickly, possibly because of a plasmapheresis center where people
could get paid to donate their blood plasma.
The center used a machine that mixed the blood of different donors, allowing viruses to transfer.
By 1982, nearly 8 percent of a group of young mothers in a Port-au-Prince slum were HIV-positive
— an astoundingly high number.
HIV is thought to have entered the US around 1969, with just one infected person or unit
of plasma from Haiti.
It took about a decade for anyone to notice, but by then it was too late.
The epidemic had begun, and HIV was not only in the Americas, but Europe and Asia, too.
And now that it was here, we needed to figure out how to fight it.
But we'll get to that in the next episode of this mini-series.
In the meantime, thanks for watching this episode of SciShow, and if you want to learn

How to Use a Fire Extinguisher - Duration: 9:13.
[♪♩INTRO]
Many hundreds of thousands of years ago, our ancestors discovered ways to control one of
the fiercest forces of nature: fire.
But even though we have a half million years of experience playing with fire, that doesn't
mean we've totally locked it down.
That's why we invented fire extinguishers.
We'll show that stupid fire who's boss.
Like us, fire extinguishers have evolved over the years, and now we have a better control
over fire and fire safety than ever before.
But the inventions are worthless if you don't know how to use them.
So let's go over how to use a fire extinguisher!
Step Zero: Before the extinguisher.
Before you worry about using a fire extinguisher, make sure your smoke
alarms are working and have charged batteries in them.
If you're like me, and burn stuff in the kitchen all the time, it can be tempting to
take the batteries out to get the smoke alarm to stop screaming.
If you can help it, try not to do that.
But if you do, make sure you put them back right away.
Set a reminder on your phone, or tie a string around your finger if you need to.
Alerting people in the vicinity of the fire, and evacuating them is always
going to be more important than whether or not you can salvage even the most precious
family heirloom.
Talk with everyone who lives in your household about your evacuation plans.
Having an idea of what to do during an emergency helps keep the chaos at bay, and could potentially
save lives.
But if you've got that part all set, it's time to get a fire extinguisher.
Step One: Choose the right extinguisher for you.
This one needs to be done before you have a fire.
So, like, now-ish.
You can find extinguishers at a variety of
places: hardware stores, fire safety supply companies, some major retail stores, and the
internet.
Obviously, lots of different things can catch on fire: paper, electronic appliances, or
even your friend's hair as they bring you a birthday cake.
Each kind of fire has good and bad ways to put it out.
You wouldn't want to throw water on an electrical or a grease fire, for example.
According to the National Fire Protection Agency, there are five main kinds of fires:
A is just a regular wood, paper, or plastic fire;
B is when liquids like gasoline or oil or gasses like propane and butane catch on fire;
C is when electrical appliances catch on fire;
D is when metals like sodium or magnesium catch on fire;
And K is a kitchen fire.
Nobody knows where E through J went, so don't ask.
Every fire extinguisher should have some combination of these letters on it to tell you what kind
of fire it's safe to use on.
The most common fire extinguishers available are dry chemical
ABC extinguishers, and those are probably what you'll want unless you have special
circumstances.
They're messy because they spray powder everywhere.
It's bad for electronics and hard to clean up, but it prevents the fire from coming back
like a trick birthday candle.
The other common type of extinguisher is the carbon dioxide extinguisher,
which is usually just for class B and C fires.
It doesn't work very well on class A fires because they can reignite if you don't smother
them enough.
If you're not totally sure about what kind you need, then you probably just need a dry
chemical ABC extinguisher.
If you're still unsure about making that decision, though, you can contact either your
local fire department or ask at the fire safety supply company.
They can help you out.
Also, try to find an extinguisher with a metal head and handle instead of plastic.
These can be recharged easily, which saves on maintenance costs.
Step Two: Judge the fire.
It is important to realize that you are probably not a fire fighter.
If you are, then why are you watching this video?
Portable fire extinguishers are only meant to fight small fires that aren't spreading.
They won't do much if most of your house is already on fire.
If you have a fire that's already too big for a fire extinguisher, then the time you
spend fooling around with it is time you could be spending evacuating and calling the fire
department.
Your personal safety comes first, so if you feel any doubt about your ability to handle
a fire, then get out and leave it to the professionals.
If you do leave, close whatever doors and windows you can on your way out, but don't
lock them.
Step Three: Get in position.
This is a requirement for both you and the fire extinguisher.
Fire waits for no one, so your extinguisher should never be stored somewhere hard to access.
You can get wall mounts for them if you really want, but at the very least you should have
it somewhere that you can get to easily.
That means you shouldn't cram it under the kitchen sink way in the back behind your cleaning
supplies and mouse traps.
A fire is way more dangerous if you're also caught in a mouse trap.
The important thing for you is to keep your distance.
Stand a few feet away from the fire, so you're not in danger but you're still close enough
to reach with the extinguisher.
And remember: don't let the fire get between you and an exit.
Step Four: Pull the Pin
The fire extinguisher will have a small pin with a ring on the end of it, that pokes out
from the head and handle.
This keeps you from squeezing the handle accidentally and using up all your fire extinguishing stuff
before you need to.
Once you're in position and ready to use the fire extinguisher, just grab that pin
by the ring and yank.
Step Five: Aim at the base
You only have about 10 seconds worth of stuff in your extinguisher, so you have to make
it count.
Hitting the top of the flames won't do anything, so you need to aim for the base.
Step Six: Squeeze the handle
Remember how that pin was making it so you couldn't squeeze the handle until you needed
to?
This is that time.
You have one shot.
One opportunity.
Are you gonna capture it, or just let it slip?
Trick question.
Don't let it slip, just squeeze the handle.
Step Seven: Sweep across the fire.
Again, you only have around 10 seconds, so you want to sweep your aim back and forth
over the base of the fire.
Don't get too excited and just swing it around all willy-nilly, just make sure you
cover the whole base of the fire in a couple sweeps.
If all goes according to plan, you should no longer have a fire!
If you do, then get out and call the fire department as soon as possible.
Remember the doors and windows on your way out.
Step Eight: Make sure the fire is actually out.
You don't want to be caught off guard, so it's good to verify.
Make sure you don't walk anywhere that was previously on fire.
If it reignites, you don't want to be standing in the middle of it with an empty fire extinguisher.
If the fire does come back, or even if you're not totally sure it's out, then evacuate
and call the fire department.
Even if the fire /doesn't/ come back, it still may have done enough damage that you
should call the fire department to come check it out and tell you how bad it is.
Step Nine: Maintain your extinguisher.
This is especially important right after you use it, but it's also important before
you use it, too.
Any time you use an extinguisher, you should get it recharged or replaced immediately.
You don't want to forget until it's too late.
There's a little gauge on the head of most fire extinguishers that shows the internal
pressure.
Once a month, take a look at that little gauge and make sure it's in the green zone.
If it's not, you're not going to get your full 10 seconds out of the extinguisher when
you need it, and every second counts.
If your extinguisher has a metal head, you can just take it to your local fire safety
supply store and get it recharged.
If it's plastic, you can try to get it recharged but it may not be possible.
If you can't get it recharged, just replace it.
The peace of mind is worth the price of a fire extinguisher.
During a general monthly inspection, you should also check that the nozzle is free of any
debris, and the pin isn't stuck.
Some resources recommend you shake the extinguisher during your inspection to keep the dry powder
from settling and caking.
Whether this actually does anything is under debate, but for now it doesn't hurt to just
give it a good shake since you're checking it anyway.
If your extinguisher is a few years old, you should consider getting it pressure tested
to make sure it's safe.
Exploding fire extinguishers tend to cause more problems than they solve.
Once you do all that, your fire extinguisher is ready to fight another day!
Hopefully it won't have to, but better safe than sorry.

I Didn't Believe It Could Happen To Me - Duration: 11:17.
- When I found my friend after it happened,
the only thing I could get out of my mouth
was I just had sex, but I said no.
- Before I learned to read, I was twice forced
to perform oral sex on my neighbor.
Once after I had told people about it.
- When I was about six or seven years old,
I was raped by a cousin.
- Seven years ago this February I was at a frat party
off campus at a different university, actually,
with my sorority sisters and I had been looking
at this guy throughout the night
and he came over and offered me a drink
and then he told me he really couldn't hear what I was
saying because the music was playing,
so he wanted to go upstairs and I got really foggy
and I couldn't remember what was happening next,
but the next thing I remember was being on a mattress.
- In elementary school, I moved to a new state
with my mother and in the house nextdoor to us
there was a family with an older teenage boy.
And one time, he and I were left alone together
and he had me perform oral sex on him, but I had no idea
what it was and what happened.
I just knew it was bad.
- I was about 14 or 15 years old at the time
and I was placed in a bed with him and several other
cousins sleeping around in the basement of my aunt's house.
My aunt climbs the stairs and shuts off the light
and closes the door to the basement and he grabs me.
And he grabs me so that I can't get away.
I'm pushing him off, trying to get him off
and from there, I blacked out.
- While I was on a mattress, I was aware that I got there,
but I don't know how I got there and I started
feeling this pain and when I realized what the pain was,
I started yelling at him, "Wait, are you having
"sex with me?
"No, get off!"
And he kept on responding how much I enjoyed it
and how much I liked it.
Finally, after physically trying and begging
for a few minutes, he got up and threw my pants at me
like I was nothing and I came to bear my surroundings
and I went to my phone and I saw my friends
were looking for me because I had been missing
for about 20 minutes.
When that hit me, I ran out of the house.
- I come to in the morning and I'm incredibly sore,
but I run for it.
I get out of his grasp.
My little brother and my other younger cousin
are playing tiny checkers and I'm sitting next to them
with soiled underwear,
sore, and deathly afraid.
- I run over to my friend and I said to her
I just had sex.
- And she got really excited because she knew I was a virgin
and the next thing I said was, "But I said no."
And she said, "Wait, were you raped?"
And at that point, it hit me.
Every Law and Order SUV episode I've ever seen in my life,
I couldn't believe that happened.
It couldn't have happened to me.
I'm not that type of person.
- A few days later, I was in the kitchen of his house
and not knowing exactly what had happened, I described
what happened to his parents and my mother.
We were kept apart for a number of months,
but circumstances happened where my babysitter forgot
that she was supposed to pick me up that day
and was unavailable.
So after being picked up by the boy's parents,
I was brought back to his house and he forced me
to do it again.
- I went to the hospital and I had a male nurse
tell me not to tell my family while he was walking
through everything because he told me
my heart was already broken, why else
should anyone else's heart be broken?
And I was just in such shock over everything
and so afraid and then the detectives came in
and I remember their first question was,
"Are you sure this was rape?
"Are you sure you just didn't make a mistake
"and you don't want to admit it?"
And I remember screaming at them I was a virgin
and I was going to wait until marriage.
No, that's not a mistake, and it shuttered me
and it gave me that first inkling of hey,
it's your fault, right?
You were asking for it.
I left the hospital that morning.
I went about my life as if nothing happened.
- I described what happened and his parents
reacted, I mean, the whole room reacted with shock
and horror and then there was a flood of questions
and I could tell that something was wrong
and it really felt like I had done something wrong
and had been wrong to then tell people about it.
- Years later, I was about 12 or 13 years old
and I was in the kitchen of my aunt's house
who has no relation to the cousin that assaulted me.
I confided in her, I told her, and she kind of just
screwed up her face like ooh, you know?
Kind of in disgust.
She told no one.
My aunt also was like, you're crazy, what is wrong with you?
This never happened.
I put him in his own room, he had his own room,
you were nowhere near him.
And when this happens to children, they scream.
You should have screamed or something.
Why are you telling us now and what's with
this delayed story?
And it's just like, that's what happens with trauma.
It's buried until you can actually handle it.
That was the first and only adult that I can tell that to
and it also sent a message to me that even if you tell
someone, nothing's going to happen.
So I didn't tell anyone since her.
- For about two weeks, I just was happy and smiling
and my best friend said, "Stop your bullshit.
"I know that you're upset, I know that you're trying
"to hid it, but you need to start realizing what happened."
- Even after it happened again, I never told anyone else.
I never spoke to a member of law enforcement,
I never really brought it up because it was so clear
from that conversation in the kitchen
that I shouldn't do that.
- I didn't even believe myself.
I was still like, did it even happen?
Did I make this up, am I crazy?
I buried it and I told myself it didn't happen,
but as I continued to dig
and continue therapy and get closer to myself,
I realized it was very real.
It happened.
I needed me out of any other person
because my father was there, yes.
My mother, she couldn't deal.
I was too much for her.
It was too much for everybody.
- There was one time I said I was raped
and I barely got it out without being in hysterics.
I always said I had sex and I said no,
and then I would just refer to it as, you know,
that night in February, the time that thing happened.
And then I would get to the assault
and I would refer to it as the assault
as if it were an event that I attended
as opposed to something that happened to me.
What's the different between sexual assault
and what's rape?
Sexual assault is a lot easier on the ears of everyone else
because rape is such a vile term.
But to say I was raped and not sexually assaulted,
I can probably say it with confidence now
in the past two years and it's been about seven years
since it's happened.
- As a guy there is certainly a stigma, I think,
attached to being a victim of sexual violence
because we are expected to not be victims
and if you are, it's because you failed
or you were weak, or there was something wrong with you.
There is a difficulty in this society of believing
victims at all and I think that's what's really tough
is that it can happen to anybody.
Society programs us to see a victim in their head
and it's not me.
You really start to doubt if you actually
were a victim and it makes it harder
to believe your own story.
- Not only was I admitting to something that happened
to me, but I was also admitting that something
that society has always pushed so negatively
and it really isn't a gender issue.
- For the person who is struggling to believe
themselves, first check in with yourself,
understand those gut feelings
and from there, have the courage to dig.
Now is the time to start the healing
because it's never your fault.
- I understand that there are certainly other guys
out there like me.
The key thing to remember is you're not at fault
for being a victim.
It's always and only the fault of the perpetrator.
- Bad things happen to good people,
but good people become beautiful people
and I don't mean that physically.
I mean that in that your trials and the tribulations
you're going through make you so much stronger
as a person later on.
- It's a courageous act to actually get past the fear
and understand your trauma and understand
what you've been through.
I commend anyone who attempts to do it.
Don't do it alone.
- If it just happened, please, please, please
go get checked out, go get a rape kit.
You do not have to prosecute right away,
you don't have to decide to, but give yourself
time to process.
- I can identify with my body now.
Before, this was just a thing I carried around
because I was so detached from my body.
I was detached from myself and now I am a whole being.
Too many of us are halves or were pieces
because of the traumatic experience we've had
and I'm slowly but surely regaining that confidence
and it's only going to get better from here.
- It hurts and it's the worst feeling in the world
and for the longest time, I thought nothing worse
can happen to me.
Healing has brought me such clarity,
embracing every part of me, the good, the bad,
and what happened to make me into who I am today.
- I have a therapist.
I also go to group therapy.
I am well aware that this is tough and I cannot
do this alone.
So survivor, believe yourself and get the help.
Get the help to actually heal from what was done to you.

Spiritual Awakening – Why Traditional Grounding Doesn't Work For Us - Duration: 5:11.
Spiritual Awakening Why Traditional Grounding Doesnt Work For Us
by Kelly Ashley,
If youre reading this article its likely that youve discovered exactly what I did
that grounding either doesnt work, doesnt last or actually makes our symptoms
worse during the awakening process.
Thats not to say that grounding doesnt work at all.
For the average person, who rarely becomes ungrounded, often some essential oil or a
walk through a wooded area is enough to do the trick.
Unfortunately, traditional grounding just isnt enough for us, which is a real concern,
considering that being ungrounded in the first place is the exact reason why were experiencing
such challenging signs and symptoms.
The good news is that it can be changed.
You can get grounded, and that will reduce the difficult signs and symptoms youre
experiencing such as anxiety, overwhelm and emotional sensitivity amongst others.
But for now, lets get a clear understanding of why traditional grounding doesnt seem
to work for us during spiritual awakening so that we can get a handle on this thing.
The main issue that we have is that awakening is a naturally ungrounding process.
It all begins with an intense influx of high vibrational energy that is designed to awaken
us, open our psychic senses and heighten our emotions.
Everything is designed for the purpose of healing our souls and clearing our connection
to source.
However, that initial influx of ungrounding energy was only necessary to kick start the
process.
The problem begins when we are unable to ground the new energy that is coming in.
Having that much light in your system is extremely ungrounding, not to mention hard on the body,
and theres not enough density in the physical body to balance it out.
So we stay ungrounded, we continue to be charged and opened and heightened, and it all just
becomes one big awakening mess sometimes, even a crisis.
So, there are 2 main reasons why traditional grounding often doesnt work for those of
us going through spiritual awakening.
Lets take a look at them here:
Were too charged to be grounded Unfortunately, most traditional grounding methods list the
likes of oils, crystals, yoga or mediation.
Like I said before, for the average person yes, these are grounding, but for us, with
our energies already so highly charged and opened by the initial awakening process, anything
that alters energy will only charge us further.
Yep, it sounds weird I know, but its true.
Anything at all that alters your energy will inadvertently stimulate it further and will
make your symptoms worse.
So, if youre experiencing difficult symptoms or heightened sensitivities then youre
best taking a break from these things for a little while to let your energy ground back
down.
Our energies literally dont know how to ground us We need to remember that this
incredible shift in humanity towards 5D living is an entirely new vibration, the likes of
which may have never been experienced before.
The truth is, your energies are just as confused as you are.
Often times with these new changes in place, our energies dont actually know how to
adjust to, manage or integrate with it and we get charged up (and our symptoms get worse
in the process).
We need to teach our energies how to ground with this new energy in place.
We need to show them how to adjust and reassure them that its safe and that everything is
ok.
Thats when it begins to shift in your body and you can relax more into the transformation
without fear (or hellish symptoms for that matter).
If youre struggling with signs or symptoms, feeling out of control or overwhelmed by the
awakening process my most important advice would be:
Remove energetic stimulants from your main living space and lifestyle (bedroom, living
room etc).
Learn what to avoid in our FREE 5-day course
Use some energetic downloads to teach your energies how to remain grounded (which will
reduce symptoms in the process).
Downloads are healing programs that teach your energy how to manage the awakening process
more easily.
They are very relaxing and safe to use during awakening without overcharging your energy.
You can access a video with some free downloads (which are in the last 10 minutes) here:
Removing energetic stimulants will certainly allow your energies to ground back down, but
if you want to help them stay steady and grounded daily, these energetic downloads can really
help.

Pete's 2 Cents - Online Engagement: Key Component to Growth This Holiday Season - Episode 9 - Duration: 2:15.
So we're about to enter the big holiday selling season and there were
three statistics I thought that were instructive about how retailers and brands
should be thinking about this year's holiday season.
One, Amazon's share of e-commerce grew 10 percent this year.
Last, year it was about 33 percent of e-commerce, this year it's about 43 percent.
That growth is pretty staggering in one year. But we're now approaching
almost 50 percent of e-commerce is being directly driven by Amazon.
The second is, if you look at the growth in retailing, Amazon represents -
Amazon's growth represents about 30 percent of the retail industry's growth.
And that plays into the third statistic, which is: This is going to be the
first holiday season where consumers will buy more online than they will in stores.
And to me the takeaway on all of this is:
We have reached the point where having a great online engagement and
relationship with your consumers is more important than ever.
And having that great engagement and relationship with your consumer online,,
translated into a great in-store experience, has never been more important.
So as we go into the holiday season I think we're gonna be -
it'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.
How do consumers respond when they're buying more online than they are in stores?
What to what the store experiences look like this holiday season?
And how does that set the stage for a really interesting 2018?
