Things are getting nutty in the world of food.
Because recently the supermarket Aldi has recalled a package of "Clancy's Barbecue
Flavor Coated Peanuts".
The reason?
The package contained cashew nuts.
Unfortunately there wasn't a warning on the bag of nuts telling customers cashews
were inside.
Seems the nuts weren't only in the food.
Aldi stated on the recall quote "We are recalling a single batch of this product as
cashew nuts may be present in a small number of packets.
Cashew nuts are not declared in the ingredients list.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance
to cashew nuts.
If you have bought this product and have an allergy or intolerance to cashew nuts, please
do not eat it" end quote.
But realistically if you bought a bag of peanuts and had to be warned about cashews, the health
risk is the least of your problems.
Aldi recalling this package would just delay the inevitable.
It's really a miracle that these people had made it this far to begin with.
It's like someone being lactose intolerant and buying Ice Cream because there wasn't
a warning of the Ice Cream containing milk.
Additionally in the news someone almost had to Pay The Piper, because in New Zealand a
man was pulled over for playing the bagpipes while driving his car.
The acting Sergeant said quote "The driver didn't have their hands on the wheel at
the time, and he was clearly playing the instrument while driving the car, his fingers were going
a million miles an hour" end quote.
You know, some people only see the negative in situations.
Instead of being mad that the drivers fingers were going a million miles an hour, maybe
have a little optimism and be happy the car wasn't going a million miles an hour.
The police were trying to spot drivers on the road with their phones at checkpoints
when they spotted the bagpipe driver.
Fortunately for the piper he was let off without a warning.
But did anyone ever think to check what was inside the bagpipes?
