Waching daily Apr 24 2018

In Age of Ultron, Tony Stark had a vision that showed the death of almost every member of the Avengers.

Was it all just a hallucination created by the Scarlet Witch

Thanos is coming and the MCU will never be the same.

He is the most powerful villain the Avengers have ever faced

and not all of them are going to survive their war with the Mad Titan.

Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, has admitted that the Infinity Wars will mark the end for some major characters

the question is who?

As phase 3 of the MCU draws to a close

which character is the least likely to make the transition to the new generation?

New and emerging heroes like Black Panther,

Spiderman and Antman are all but guaranteed to survive.

So the deaths will most likely be among the original avenger cast

who have already filmed over a half dozen movies each.

but Marvel has been setting up one character's death

since his very first movie:

The First Avenger, Captain America.

Steve Rogers proved willing to die in one of his very first scenes

when he jumped on a grenade as a military recruit.

He showed that he was prepared to lose his life to protect others.

And Captain America's entire character arc has been one of losing.

He lost Peggy Carter, the love of his life, when he was frozen in ice at the end of The First Avenger.

He lost his idealism when he saw the corruption in his own government during Winter Soldier.

And he lost his superhero identity, his friends and even his shield after the events of Civil War.

So at this point, he has nothing left to give up other than his life

nd what better way for him to do that then by defending the earth against the greatest enemy

the Avengers have ever known?

And in the real world, Chris Evans only has one more movie left on his Marvel contract

and there hasn't been any sign that he'll be offered or sign a new one.

On the other hand Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes, has a contract that extends for four more movies.

While it's certainly possible that he'll continue on as the Winter Soldier,

he could easily step behind Cap's shield, just as his character does in the comic books.

Stan even admitted to fans in 2016 that Marvel had told him that he will eventually become Captain America.

And although its true that Evans is contractually obligated to appear in Avengers 4,

set photos have shown him wearing his classic blue Captain America uniform

which he ditched after Civil War, meaning that that scene is most likely a flashback to an earlier time.

And we've already seen the Captain dead once when Tony Stark had a vision of his bloody body lying next to his broken shield.

If there's one thing he hasn't lost, it's his commitment to protecting others

and ultimately this is what will cost him his life against Thanos.

What do you think?

What's It Like at the Edge of the Solar System? - Duration: 5:23.

[♪ INTRO]

Here's a simple question with a not-so-simple answer:

What's it like at the edge of the solar system?

You'd think that space would basically be the same anywhere,

except punctuated by different kinds of stars and objects.

But that's not actually true.

The region inside our solar system is distinctly different from the cold, black void outside of it.

But we didn't know much about those differences until NASA launched the

Interstellar Boundary Explorer, or IBEX, ten years ago.

For almost a decade, IBEX has been mapping out the size and shape of our nice,

calm region of space, all without leaving the safety of Earth's orbit!

And in that time, it's shown us a lot,

both about interstellar space and about how special our neighborhood is.

It's even debunked at least one popular hypothesis.

Now, it's easy to imagine a few different definitions for the edge of the solar system.

You could figure out how far the Sun's light goes or where the influence of its gravity ends,

or you could even mark the orbit of the farthest object that travels around it.

But those all have their own problems.

Like, the Sun's light actually travels an infinite distance.

And the farthest object orbiting the Sun is far beyond what we can see,

so we can't actually measure it.

So to get at an idea of the solar system's boundary,

scientists often use what's called the heliosphere.

The heliosphere is the region of space dominated by the Sun's solar wind,

a stream of electrically-charged particles that pours nonstop out of its surface in all directions.

The farther away from the Sun you get, the weaker the solar wind is

and, eventually, there'd be more particles from interstellar space than from the Sun.

That change happens at a place called the heliopause,

and it's a convenient definition for the solar system's edge.

This is the boundary IBEX is studying, along with a little help from its friend Voyager 1.

Back in 2012, Voyager 1 became the first human-made object

to cross this border and enter interstellar space.

It found the heliopause to be about 120 times farther from the Sun than the Earth is,

but it could only take measurements of one tiny spot.

Fortunately, that's where IBEX comes in.

Even though its orbit never takes it beyond the Moon,

IBEX has spent the last decade mapping the entire heliopause.

It does this by measuring particles called energetic neutral atoms, or ENAs.

ENAs form at the heliopause when the solar wind slams into the interstellar medium,

the collection of gas that fills in the gaps between star systems.

It's sometimes called the ISM for short.

When the solar wind's electrically-charged particles strike the neutral molecules

of the ISM, they sometimes steal electrons and become neutral themselves.

Then, those freshly-minted ENAs can suddenly travel in straight lines

because, without charge, they're no longer deflected by magnetic fields.

A tiny portion of them bounce back towards Earth,

and an even tinier portion strike the detectors carried by IBEX.

Seriously, these events are rare:

Sometimes, ENAs strike the spacecraft at a rate of only one per hour.

Given that, it's pretty impressive that it took just six months for

IBEX to make its first major discovery, which happened in October 2009.

The spacecraft created our most comprehensive map of the heliopause ever.

And in doing so, it found that one spot was just a bit different than all the others.

In one very narrow region of space, a lot more ENAs were being made than anywhere else.

Scientists had long expected to find at least a little variation in the production of ENAs

across the heliopause, but this spot was especially surprising.

Astronomers aren't exactly sure why it's happening,

but it probably has to do with the influence of interstellar magnetic fields.

In the years since, this ribbon-like region has also continued to change, suggesting that

the solar system is embedded in a surprisingly dynamic environment.

Interstellar space might not look like much, but there's probably a lot going on out there.

IBEX also took some of the first measurements of oxygen, neon, and hydrogen atoms

coming into our neighborhood from interstellar space.

And by comparing the ratio of oxygen and neon atoms it detects,

it's shown that our solar system is oxygen-rich

compared to the surrounding galactic neighborhood.

Since oxygen is a key component of water, and water is a key component of life here on Earth,

this could be a big deal for understanding where we came from.

Not to mention that we need oxygen to, you know, breathe.

But as for why we have so much extra oxygen, scientists aren't sure.

It could be dumb luck.

Elements are spread a little unevenly through the galaxy,

and we might've just ended up in an oxygen-rich area.

And it's always possible that we're not really special after all.

Oxygen in the ISM could just be locked up in things like ice

that don't produce energetic neutral atoms.

Probably IBEX's biggest discovery to date, though,

is actually something it didn't find: a bow shock.

Bow shocks are the space equivalent of a sonic boom, and scientists thought one would form

where the heliosphere slammed into the interstellar medium.

But instead, IBEX showed that the Sun is actually moving more slowly relative to

the interstellar medium than we'd previously thought.

Combine that with the direct measurements of these interstellar magnetic fields

from the Voyagers, and the math just doesn't work out for a bow shock.

So score one for more peaceful interactions with outer space!

A decade in, and IBEX has lasted about five times longer than it was designed to.

And with no end in sight, it'll keep circling the Earth with its eyes on the

solar system's literal final frontier.

Thank you for watching this episode of SciShow Space, which is produced by Complexly.

Complexly also produces a new channel called Nature League,

where my friend Brit talks about all things nature,

and she has a really great video about organisms that can survive without oxygen

that you might want to check out, and we'll link to it in the description. Thanks!

How To Get A Billion Views On YouTube - Duration: 4:32.

- Five billion. (upbeat music)

That's how many times videos are watched on YouTube

every single day.

With the platform helping thousands of creators go viral,

we wanted to see if there was a set formula

for making a hit video.

To figure out what works on YouTube,

let's take a look at the 10 most-watched videos.

Nine out of 10 are music videos.

And, the trend continues.

Music videos make up 94 of the top 100.

And, it isn't some strange coincidence.

People spend more time listening to music

on YouTube than Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal combined.

- YouTube has become a popular destination for music

because it's just so easy.

- [Narrator] That's Chris Molanphy.

He's a pop chart analyst and host of the Hit Parade podcast

which dissects how that top hits

made their way up the charts.

- And, the reason why music video in particular

has taken off is, again, the length,

the fact that it's professionally produced content,

it's just right for consumption on a platform like YouTube.

(rock music) - Back in the day,

MTV was the primary way to watch music videos.

You would have the channel on

and wait for your favorite music videos to play.

Now, we have the ability to play any music video

whenever we want.

Since the most popular videos are almost all music videos,

it seems the fastest way to a billion views

is a music video.

But, before you have a music video,

you need a song millions of people wanna listen to.

- Right now, rhythmically, there's a trend

towards this rhythm that you might call the Dembow rhythm.

And, this is something you can hear

in a lot of top 40 pop songs

and a lot of the top YouTube videos.

It's a rhythm that you'll probably recognize.

It sounds something like this (hands clapping).

Highly syncopated, (Dembow rhythmic music)

immediately kinda makes you

wanna nod your head and tap your feet.

And, for at least the present moment right now,

this Dembow rhythm seems a surefire way

to get yourself a top song.

- [Narrator] That's Nate Sloan.

He's a musicologist and the host of Switched on Pop,

a podcast about the making and meaning of popular music.

- If we look at some of the top YouTube videos,

they have global elements within them.

Ed Sheeran's Shape of You, for example,

is all constructed around the sound of a kalimba,

which is an African thumb piano.

The top YouTube video of all time right now, Despacito,

features a Puerto Rican guitar in the intro,

this very characteristic Caribbean sound.

And, then Gangnam Style, which has no English lyrics

whatsoever except for the titular chorus,

is a huge hit and that's because

we're more and more interested in global sounds.

We're not just confined to the music

of our own culture today.

- [Narrator] YouTube is accessible to anyone around the world.

So, if you expand your sound to be more global and inclusive

your chances of a hit song might increase.

- If you want a viral hit, you're gonna have to reach

beyond your immediate culture.

- [Narrator] Okay, we've got some ingredients

needed for the song, what about the video?

- If there were a formula for success on YouTube,

I'm sure someone would've patented it by now.

To sound a bit old school about it,

talent still matters and the ability to present yourself

or to present what Simon Cowell would famously call

the X Factor, the qualities of a star,

both in terms of your ability to play, your ability to sing,

your ability to present yourself compellingly.

These factors all matter the same as they always have.

- [Narrator] Even if the video doesn't hit a billion views,

and odds are that it won't, don't be discouraged.

The video is still going to represent you and your music.

- Some artists who have succeeded because of YouTube

have done it, not so much by creating

their own music videos,

but using YouTube as, in effect, an audition reel.

A&R teams now scour YouTube looking

for the next major pop star.

Your video doesn't necessarily have to be polished

to make you a YouTube star.

- [Narrator] Justin Beiber's first video

was just him singing on his couch.

It led to him being discovered by Usher

and becoming a worldwide pop star.

Angel Message For The Week #14

by Elise Cantrell

We wish to talk to you today about manifestation, or having the things and experiences you desire

show up in your life.

We see how perplexed you are about why your desires do not always manifest the way you

want or seem to get hung up in time and space.

We wish to clarify for you how this happens and how to remedy this situation.

Why arent my dreams and desires showing up in my life.

What is holding them up?

What is stopping them?

From our perspective, what we see is that your dreams and desires are NOT only yours.

Other people have their own powerful dreams and desires that involve you too.

Anytime your dreams and desires for yourself conflict in anyway with the dreams and desires

of others for you, this situation creates a hang up with momentum.

Their manifestation energy can jam-up yours if they are working in opposition.

For example.

You desire a career change, but your partner feels more secure with your maintaining your

present job situation for his or her own reasons, they may stagnate the energy of your forward

momentum of career change if they arent on the same page, and particularly if they

are a strong manifestor and have a strong energetic influence.

(Many folks are powerful energy workers and dont even know the realm of influence they

have on a person or situation.)

If you have a very strong desire, it is important to be conscious of who you are sharing your

desire with.

Some people will work with you energetically and help you manifest it, and other people

who dont want what you are wanting will energetically work against you whether they

are conscious of it or not.

Do not share your desires with people you know who will not be in support of your dreams

and desires.

It is important to be very mindful of who you are sharing your intentions with.

Most of you share your own intentions with little thought about the possibility that

someone will counter your own energy in ways that can delay and detour your results.

Manifestations are increased, multiplied and energized by each and every person who is

in alignment with your intention.

If your intention requires others to be on board such as friends and family, it is important

to get them in alignment with your desire so you do not have to overcome their opposing

energy.

Do not share your desires with anyone who would not want to see you succeed in them,

including someone who would be envious, or competitive, or someone who wants you to fall

rather than rise.

How to be a powerful manifestor.

Some of this is actually a gift.

Some of you are born creators and builders who turn thoughts and ideas into things with

ease.

Everyone have their own strengths and gifts and everyone has the power to create and manifest.

Those of you who have a way of always getting what you want are more energetically

aligned at manifesting your energy into things.

If you manifest with such ease it is important for you to be careful what you create for

and in the lives of those around you.

You do not want to force your own choices on them if they do not choose it.

Do not override their freewill or there will be a price to pay for your doing so for your

own selfish reasons.

Manifesting for the greater good is most often about alignment.

Your desire must be in alignment with God/Creator/Source/Universe, The more pure you are

about your intent, the less it is ego driven, the more you are a force for good.

It is always right to use manifestation principles on that which is in alignment with the highest

good of yourself and others, (This is not a selfish endeavor.)

When you become excited about your desireseven passionate about them, there is great forward

momentum.

We do not mean becoming obsessed with your manifestation, but to decide what you would

like

to come forward for you in your life and then get busy doing something else and let the

universe decide how it will come to be.

When you become too preoccupied with your manifestation, and try too hard, you get int

the way of the momentum already in place.

Be careful you arent someone who gets in a pattern of sabotaging your own desires.

Some of you are afraid of having your dreams come

true!

You must believe you are worthy and deserving and be willing to receive.

Stop second guessing your desire and doubting its validity.

This is the basic framework or operating mode of manifestation.

This perhaps sounds complicated, but when you are in

alignment

with desire, it moves forward like

a well aimed arrow making its way

towards

the target.

What The Critics Are Saying About Infinity War - Duration: 3:49.

The culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far premiered Monday, April

23rd in Los Angeles.

Those lucky enough to attend the momentous first global screening of Avengers: Infinity

War have taken to social media to spill their spoiler-free thoughts on the biggest cinematic

event of the decade.

Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican reacted to Infinity War using only a string of cryptic

emojis, while Emmy-winning journalist Kelley L. Carter simply tweeted, "I. Am.

Shook."

But others had more tantalizing things to say about the film.

Most reactions have been positive thus far, noting both the humor and the heart of Infinity

War, but some have taken special care to point out the bigger flaws, particularly how the

film can feel exhausting or frustrating at times.

The Playlist's Rodrigo Perez calls the film ...

"Stress-inducing, full of dread, darker than usual, yet, funny as hell, and super entertaining."

"Sure, it's a punch fest, yeah, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the dynamics of all

these disparate team-ups.

Let's see a Thor and Rocket Raccoon buddy comedy spin-off."

CinemaBlend editor Eric Eisenberg felt much the same, tweeting,

"Holy hell.

Avengers: Infinity War is the real deal.

Was left breathless sitting in the theater.

Real consequences, stunning moments, awesome character interaction, and some BIG and often

devastating surprises."

"I will add that it's pacing is kind of a different beast, just because there are so

many plates spinning.

Excited to see it again just knowing how the story unfolds."

Mike Ryan of UPROXXX wrote on Twitter that the film feels like the epic opening of a

two-part film:

"Avengers: Infinity War has like ten legit 'chill down the spine' great moments.

But it's for sure the first half of a two-part movie and I left a little unsatisfied/frustrated,

maybe by design … at least that's how I feel right now, three hours later."

The Verge's Tasha Robinson noted that Civil War fans should be thrilled, but …

"Avengers: Infinity War is basically Captain America: Civil War times 20, except with less

hero-on-hero fighting.

I think people who loved the airport fight in Civil War like I did will go nuts for this

film, and people who were bored will be 20 times as bored here."

Bilge Ebiri of the Village Voice shared that sentiment, writing,

"Infinity War is exhausting.

*Exhausting*.

It all just turned into noise for me after a while."

However, Ebiri did state that the "amazing ending almost made up for the rest of it,"

and that Thanos is a "good, sad villain", so it appears even the not-so-great parts

of Infinity War can be balanced with the insanely satisfying ones.

But rest assured: plenty of reactions have been completely celebratory.

Take Joshua Yehl of IGN Comics, who wrote that Avengers: Infinity War left him ...

"...laughing, screaming, or crying the entire way through […] stunned as the credits rolled,

speechless and sobbing."

Or consider People editor Nigel M. Smith's more subdued reaction:

"Avengers: Infinity War is my second fave Marvel movie after Black Panther.

The superhero interplay is hilarious and surprising at every turn.

The action is monumental.

And there are actual stakes this time around.

[Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige is not f---ing around with this one."

Or maybe Collider editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub's words will resonate most:

"Jaw on ground.

You are not ready for Avengers: Infinity War.

All you have to know is AVOID ALL SPOILERS!

Seriously.

Go in knowing as little as possible.

The Russo Brothers did the impossible.

Wow."

Overall, it seems people are really enjoying Avengers: Infinity War, even if it didn't

hit every mark they hoped it would, and that the consensus is that the film is massive

and moving, sometimes silly and always surprising, and unlike anything we've ever seen in the

MCU before.

Fans can formulate their own opinions when Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theaters

Friday, April 27th.
