Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi: Press Statements Following Talks in Sochi - Duration: 13:57.
Mr President, ladies and gentlemen,
Talks with the President of Egypt who is in Russia on an official visit were held in a business-like and constructive atmosphere.
I also had an in-depth discussion with the President on a number of issues yesterday, in an informal setting.
Today, we discussed bilateral cooperation and reviewed key international and regional issues.
To reiterate, the relations between our states have a rich history, and are friendly and mutually beneficial.
They are based on respect and recognition of our respective interests.
As you have seen, President el-Sisi and I just signed an Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation, which outlines major and responsible goals seeking to further deepen Russian-Egyptian ties in different areas.
Of course, we focused a lot on trade and economic issues.
In 2017, Russia-Egypt trade grew 62 percent to $6.7 billion.
It rose by another 28 percent in January-August.
Russia is a major supplier of grain to Egypt.
Our country supports Egypt's desire to conclude a free trade area agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union.
We are confident that this will open up additional opportunities for boosting economic cooperation and trade.
The President of Egypt and I discussed in detail bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
The construction of a Russian-designed nuclear power plant in Egypt by Rosatom is a major joint project in this industry.
Preparatory work at the site is underway.
Contracts will be signed with Egyptian companies before the end of the year, and these companies will be the contractors.
Positive cooperation experience has been gained in the production of hydrocarbon resources.
Russian oil products and LNG are regularly transported to the Egyptian market.
In the context of developing industrial cooperation, I would like, first, to mention a large contract worth 1 billion euros for the delivery to Egypt of new passenger carriages in conjunction with our Hungarian partners.
A modern industrial and logistics centre will be created near the Suez Canal in Egypt, with the participation of Russia, that will include instrument production, a wood processing plant, and pharmaceutical enterprises.
We plan to invest about $7 billion in this area, and create over 35,000 new jobs.
As planned, the manufactured output in this area will go not only to the Egyptian, but also the Middle Eastern and African markets.
We have also thoroughly discussed prospects for military-technical cooperation.
Military interaction is equally important.
Russia and Egypt have been successfully interacting in this area for decades now.
Joint tactical airborne troop exercises are being held in Egypt now.
Russia and Egypt have always shown and continue to show interest in the cultural and spiritual heritage of our peoples.
Therefore, President el-Sisi and I have approved an initiative to declare 2020 a cross year of humanitarian cooperation.
We also considered the full-scale restoration of tourism and comprehensive air service.
In April, regular direct flights resumed between Moscow and Cairo.
We have also discussed charter flights to tourist destinations popular with Russians – to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.
We noted that our Egyptian friends are doing everything necessary to increase the security level.
We will work to restore charter flights in the near future.
These talks have confirmed the unanimity and proximity of our positions on important international and regional issues.
Our cooperation has always been and remains an effective security factor in the Middle East and North Africa.
We have informed our colleagues about the steps taken by Russia to resolve the Syria conflict.
We compared notes on this issue and agreed to work together.
We agreed that the situation in the Idlib Province, where a significant number of militants has accumulated in the de-escalation zone, requires special attention.
There is the risk of infiltration into neighbouring states.
We informed our Egyptian friends of the underlying concepts of our agreements with Turkey on this problem.
We agreed to continue coordination to intensify the Syrian political process.
Allow me to remind you that Egypt secured the so-called Cairo Platform opposition group participation in the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi.
The next step is to set up and launch a constitutional committee in Geneva.
It is also important to make collective efforts to rebuild Syria's economy and create favourable conditions for the return of the refugees.
Russia and Egypt will continue to jointly search for ways to overcome the internal political split in Libya, to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Russia and Egypt both support strict observance of the principles of a Palestinian-Israeli settlement as stipulated in the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the Arab Peace Initiative, and the earliest possible restoration of direct dialogue between the parties on all controversial issues, including the status of Jerusalem.
In 2019, Egypt will chair the African Union.
We wish all our Egyptian friends and President el-Sisi success in this high-responsibility mission.
We expect that the Egyptian presidency will promote stronger cooperation between Russia and all African states.
In conclusion, I would like to thank Mr President and all our Egyptian friends for these substantive and productive talks.
The results achieved today will certainly contribute to further strengthening of our interstate relations.
Thank you for attention.
Thank you, Mr President,
Let me convey sincere condolences on my behalf and on behalf of the people of Egypt to the Russian people on the tragedy that happened in Russia today.
We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
President Putin, ladies and gentlemen,
I would like to once again thank my dear friend President Putin for the warm welcome during this important visit that emphasises the strength of the close historical relations between Egypt and Russia.
While being here, let me note that I am pleased with the great successes in Russian-Egyptian relations over the last four years as well as the achievements we made in all areas, above all the agreement to build the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant.
I believe that this project will without a doubt become a breakthrough in the relations between our countries, like the project to create a Russian industrial zone in the eastern city of Port Said.
I think this project will bring the cooperation between our countries to the stage of joint production instead of just trade.
And I am confident that this project's implementation will make a real breakthrough in the volume and quality of Russia's direct investment in Egypt.
Our joint efforts to promote friendship between our countries have resulted today in the signing of the Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation.
I believe this Agreement will begin a new chapter in the history of our cooperation and provide us with long-term opportunities and new horizons that will promote our bilateral cooperation and relations to a new level entirely.
I would also like to note that President Putin and I have agreed today to declare 2020 the Russia-Egypt Year of Culture.
I hope that this year will see various events that can testify to the depth of the cultural, civilizational and artistic ties between our countries and peoples.
Ladies and gentlemen,
In addition to Egypt-Russia cooperation that is aimed at ensuring a better future for our nations, we are coordinating our activities on important regional issues based on our belief in the paramount importance of restoring security and stability
in the Middle East so that the interests of the peoples in that region are met and guarantees of a better future for its youth after a long period of suffering caused by war and destruction are provided.
In this context, President Putin and I discussed today the Palestine issue and stated that the positions of Egypt and Russia on the Palestinian-Israeli peace process have become much closer.
We also reaffirmed our unshakable positions regarding the need to achieve a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestine issue based on the two-state solution for two nations within the 1967 border in pursuance of international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
We paid special attention to the developments in Syria during the talks.
We agreed on the need to continue consultations and coordination between Egypt and Russia on this important issue.
We agreed that it is necessary to work to prevent further escalation of the situation in Syria.
In this context, we agreed to call on UN special envoys to Syria to speed up the process of forming a constitutional commission as an important step to create the necessary conditions to resume political talks
and reach a comprehensive political solution to meet the legitimate hopes of the brotherly people of Syria and maintain the territorial integrity of the Syrian state.
Regarding the situation in Libya.
We discussed the latest events through the political and security prism and exchanged views and assessments on the actions of the various parties involved in the events in Libya.
In this context, I shared with President Putin Egypt's vision on a political solution in Libya, and also Cairo's efforts to unite the Libyan National Army for it to perform effectively.
We have also discussed the aftermath of recent clashes in Tripoli that showed how dangerous and reckless it is to rely on armed groups in order to provide security.
We believe that only the regular army as well as security and law enforcement agencies should be given such a task.
We have also reaffirmed that all the members of the international community must strictly follow UN Special Envoy in Libya Ghassan Salamé's initiative, such as to avoid other decisions.
We believe that searching for parallel solutions would only prolong the crisis and deepen differences between the Libyan parties.
We believe such actions are not based on a consensus.
During our talks, President Putin and I agreed it was necessary to improve the information exchange process between our countries' special services as part of counterterrorism efforts, especially regarding terrorists' movements from unstable regions to other states where they carry out new attacks.
We have also reaffirmed that it is necessary to prevent these terrorists from crossing state borders.
We have agreed to exchange information on such people with other countries and international organisations.
In this context, I have reaffirmed Egypt's readiness to cooperate with Russia in this area more closely, considering that our countries are partners by tradition and share a perspective on this serious challenge that threatens the stability in the region.
I have also provided President Putin with a short review of the results of the Sinai 2018 operation.
The success of this operation proves the success of Egypt's efforts in countering terrorism.
Mr President, ladies and gentlemen,
Let me once again thank President Putin for this amiable invitation to visit Russia, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Egyptian people.
I would like to stress our firm historical and strategic relations, which we hope to further develop in the future in order to fulfil our peoples' wish for stability and development.
Thank you very much for your attention.

INTERMITTENT FASTING Part 1 What it is, Benefits, Contraindications, Practice - Duration: 12:54.
Hello friends how are you? Continuing with the series that takes us through
some types of diet or feeding strategies today we are going to talk about a tool that
has shown to have great advantages because It is very practical and fits very well in style
of life so accelerated that we have today and many studies have shown that you can
have important benefits in our health. Welcome to my channel Ana CONTIGO
Our theme for Today: The Intermittent Fasting, what is it, what is it, what are those
advantages and benefits that can bring but we are also going to mention which ones are
its contraindications and what would be the general recommendations to practice it.
We are used to hearing that breakfast It is the most important meal of the day for
start it with good energy. And also that we should eat every two or three
hours to keep our glucose and our controlled appetite and so we do not have those
cravings that could eventually get us out of the path of healthy eating.
Intermittent fasting is not a diet, but can be an important tool both
if we practice it only as if we associate it for example to a low carb diet
or a ketogenic diet to boost their effects.
It's basically doing what we've done during almost all our evolutionary history and for
what our body is designed is to say eat when there is food and yet stay
when we do not have it so available, that our body is able to assimilate and
exchange their energy source according to the circustance.
Our body is designed to store fat as an energy source and that's how
faced periods of famine. But what happens in the modern world, that we are
accustomed to getting food when we want and somehow this has atrophied
our ability to mobilize this type of energy reserve that is fat.
We have any kind of food available and consequently those reserves that we have
of fat because they do not burn to obtain their energy, this is why if we go over the intake
of calories we need, which is pretty easy, we are gaining weight without hardly giving us
account. The intermittent fasting of which we are going to talk
today consists of periods of 12, 14, 16 hours or more without caloric intake to then eat
in the remaining hours of the day; has validation scientific and before getting into how
practice it, let's review what their most important benefits and in what cases
would be contraindicated or should be taken Practice with medical supervision:
Among its most relevant benefits are what:
Increases Growth Hormone Segregation that is directly related to regeneration
and the improvement of the immune system, of the muscles and joints.
Recover sensitivity to insulin. We will be more efficient managing glucose in
blood with less insulin Them I leave here below in the description of this
video a link to the video that explains the "Resistance to Insulin "so that you understand which
are the problems that arise from the high segregation of this hormone and the importance
you have in this subject and in our health in general.
Promotes the regeneration of cells healthy and the autophagy of precancerous cells.
The autophagy in very colloquial terms it's as if the cell was feeding on its
own damaged parts to renew themselves, without this process all biological waste
they would accumulate causing disease and aging premature and this benefit brings us to the next
And it is that intermittent fasting is granted an anti aging effect because
it is maintained that by eating frequently the body deteriorates and ages more quickly
because there is greater oxidative stress. In such a way that you do not have to digest food
at all times it allows our body have more time to regenerate helping
to prevent neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic and having an effect on many
cancer cells that depend on glucose to produce its energy so if we use
the fat and not so much glucose for energy we help the decrease of these cells
precancerous It allows to obtain the optimum proportion between
fat and muscle helping to maintain the musculature and reducing the percentage of body fat.
It makes us more efficient when using fat as fuel
When you already have several days inside this practice the body increases its levels
of energy during the fasting period contrary to what many of us might think in agreement
what we are used to listening to about the importance of breakfast; the body
does not reduce your energy expenditure during the fasting but it increases it.
Helps to prevent the inflammations derived of digestive problems and oxidative stress.
Longer periods without food intake allow the digestive system to keep
in optimal conditions because it gives more time to regenerate. Eat frequently
during the day it affects our systems of detoxification and regeneration because the
organs, stomach, liver, pancreas, kidneys, lungs that are responsible for these functions
they are permanently digesting and assimilation of the food we consume
so often during the day giving them a lot of workload and even exhausting them
many times in such a way that they begin to present problems to perform properly
their functions and they start to get sick It seems that it is an important factor to prevent
Alzheimer's, in general high diets in healthy fats like the ketogenic
which we are going to talk about in future videos. Do not forget to subscribe and ring the bell
of notifications so you do not miss them! It is related to cholesterol reduction
LDL and has cardio protective properties. Skip the breakfast as we know it
spacing the hours so that our first meal of the day be later gives you many
advantages to people who adopt this system also for convenience, for example those
they have to leave very early to work and also take out the pet and take the
children to school or go out to do some sport before facing the rest of his
day, for some people that time of having to prepare breakfast only adds
more stress to those morning races. In addition, eating with real hunger increases that
natural pleasure of eating and generates reactions positive hormones that activate our
brain and induce neurotransmitters like the Dopamine associated with feelings of well-being
. However, despite all these benefits
that are attributed to intermittent fasting may have its contraindications in:
People who are below a appropriate weight and have an index of
very low muscle mass, in pregnant women or during lactation, in people who
receive treatment related to disorders foods such as bulimia and anorexia,
women who have already tried fasting and suffer of alterations in menstruation or even
your absence And for people who have type diabetes
1 or 2, that are under some medication, who suffer from gout or have uric acid
high; these cases must necessarily be under the proper medical supervision.
Having said all this, how can we start do intermittent fasting?
As I had already commented at the beginning of this video there are several protocols to perform
fast, the most common is the 16 x 8 hours, the 16th where you do not eat calories, that
would be properly the fast and 8 during the which you should eat, at this time in which
you can eat they are called "the window of feeding"
The most advisable thing is to start in a Gradually, the idea is that as they pass
the days you go spacing little by little time you eat your first meal
of the day It's not as difficult as you might think
because you must take into account that you take advantage all the hours since for example you ate
the previous day plus all the hours that you will go to sleep until that first intake.
All those hours are counted as part of the period in which we will be fasting like this
that although you do not believe it is not difficult to follow. Also many people already inadvertently
they practice it because they get up in the mornings they have a coffee and run out without breakfast.
Initially you could start with 12 hours during the first 3 days and then you add it
one more hour the next three days going by from 12 to 13 and then to 14 until you reach 16
for example if it is with which you decide to stay. But already with 12 hours of fasting you get many
benefits in your health. There are more prolonged fasts of 24 hours in
where you only eat once a day and longer of 48 hours not recommended if you do not have
experience with fasting. And there is also what is called "Fasting
flexible. " The argument is that our ancestors did not
they decided not to eat for 16 hours but they actually fasted when it had to be done
due to lack of food and consequently the body had the flexibility to use
as a source of energy your reserved fat. This can be interesting because it does not condition you
to strict concrete periods with hours specific and reduces stress for example
if you get an invitation to eat with other people in the hours that regularly
you should be fasting, nothing happens, if you do not fast one morning or during a day
nothing happens, you could do it at another time for example during the afternoon or skipping
dinner or the next day. Precisely our ability to be flexible metabolically
is what makes us stronger and less dependent of the food to feel good.
We are not going to feel those sugar lows or headaches and even bad mood because
we do not eat at a specific time or when we are hungry
It is normal that at the beginning you can suffer pains of head, it does not happen to all
This is because your body has been accustomed to receiving food at any
hour but this is regulated by the few days when the body begins to understand
or to recover your ability to employ as source of energy the fats you have reserved.
It is also important to say that if you perform some intense physical activity the recommendation
is that you give yourself a time of adaptation and reduce that intensity during the first days
until you're used to it because it's natural that besides that they can give you pains
head you can feel a slump of energy and this happens and it's natural because your body
You need a time to re-learn as you already we explain it
You can even get better performance thanks to that extra energy that your body
will be getting those reserve fats, that's why intermittent fasting has
Benefits in reducing body fat which finally begins to mobilize and burn
As fuel. In our next video we will continue
talking about fasting and about some recommendations which is worth mentioning to avoid
most common mistakes that are made in these protocols
Do not forget to subscribe and share this video, Like it if you liked it and check the links
that I leave here below in the description. A big hug, see you in the next one, Ciao

Millennials Don't Have Real Jobs - Tim Dillon - Duration: 5:00.
Before I was a comedian, I was out of work a lot.
Friend of-- What's the worst thing about being out of work?
What do you think?
No money? Very reasonable answer.
That's not it.
It's not no money. It's not poverty.
It's not homelessness.
It is the unsolicited advice
you get from your friends.
I was out of work one week. Leave me alone.
One of my DJ friends...
my personal trainer/DJ friends
comes up to me and he goes like this.
He goes, "Yo, bro, it's pretty fuckin' simple.
You gotta see yourself as the world sees you,
and that's the job you do."
I was like, "Okay, that may be true,
but you can't just be a retired detective."
I can't just walk around New York City
with a cup of coffee being racist.
There has to be schooling.
I am so happy to not be in New York.
It's too fucking expensive.
You gotta be evil.
That's how much money it costs.
You gotta be evil.
That's the only fucking way
to live in New York City.
It's so bad, nobody will even admit
what they do for a living,
because they all pay eight grand a month for a loft,
so whatever they do is fucking evil.
But none-- If you ask somebody what they do for a living,
you get the same response.
You're like, "What do you do for a living?"
He's a guy in a suit. He's like, "Ha, ha, ha!"
( muttering )
"It's an experimental... you know.
It's a multiplatform...
( laughs )
When JP Morgan forecloses on a house, I burn it down.
Come on! You know!"
"I'm a designer." "What do you design?"
"I don't wanna brag, you know?
The uniforms at Guantánamo Bay.
I love orange!"
I don't-- Listen, here's the deal.
Who's under 30?
( scattered cheers )
Well, now, I feel weird about this job.
I feel-- I had no idea.
Let me tell you this.
I get angry at millennials.
I do. And not-- not the old--
- ( scattered applause ) - Thank you. Thank--
Thank you, the four old people here.
Just three elderly people in the back
who work security for this theater.
God bless you. Fuck these kids.
No, here's the deal.
If you're under 23, you have a fake job.
That's-- Listen.
Unless you're in the military or a nurse,
and you're not,
if you're under 23, you have a fake job.
But the problem is, if you ask a millennial
about their fake job,
they are so confident,
that you feel like a piece of shit.
You're like, "What do you do for a living?"
They're like, "Actually, I'm an Instagram filter."
"Excuse me?" "Yeah, I'm Valencia."
"Oh, I had no idea."
I had a real job when I was a millennial, okay?
I didn't do any of this bullshit,
like manage the Instagram account of a tweet,
or whatever the hell you do.
Okay? I had a real job. I sold subprime mortgages.
Thank you very much.
Thank you. I sold mansions to janitors.
They loved it, for six to eight months.
And then I had to stop doing that
because I was growing as a person
and the FBI and all this shit.
And-- I was evolving.
And I moved from Long Island to New York City
and I had to get another sales job,
and this is have soft New York City is.
I don't want it to happen to New Orleans.
I see it happening, by the way. I don't want it to happen.
This is how soft New York is.
The only thing that I could interview to sell
was organic baby food.
But the problem was I brought all of the aggression
from the mortgage world into that interview.
It was just an old hipster.
He's like, "Hey, welcome to Happy Baby."
I was like, "I will do whatever the fuck needs to be done."
He's like, "Whoa! We're just really proud
of the ingredients we put in the jars."
I'm like, "I don't give a fuck what goes in those jars!
I work for you!"
He was like, "Well, this is just going to the food co-op
and talking to parents."
I'm like, "Well, I won't talk to the Feds.
Put me in this radish pudding game now!"
They called the cops, but fuck 'em!
If they don't wanna make money...

Audi e-tron Defined: Aerodynamics & Aeroacoustics - Duration: 3:58.
- For the e-tron project we had to incorporate
every single bit of knowledge and expertise
that we as a department had in both the fields
of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics.
My name is Moni Islam, and I'm
the head of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics
development at Audi.
- In terms of aeroacoustics an e-tron
has similar problems that a conventional
car has and we have learned to solve
these problems over many years.
My name is Gerhard Wickern.
I'm doing aerodynamics at Audi
for the e-tron project.
- [Moni Islam] Aerodynamics plays a key role
in the case of electric vehicles,
the driving distance of the vehicles,
and aeroacoustics is very important because it's
essential for the noise level inside the car.
- [Gerhard Wickern] The Audi wind tunnel,
when it was starting it was an industrial
wind tunnel with ground simulation,
so moving ground underneath the car
before only used in Formula 1.
Because our wind tunnel is so silent
we are able to develop more silent cars.
- [Moni Islam] The sound of silence
is actually a really important concept
for us in aeroacoustics development
for the e-tron because it doesn't have
a combustion engine and it's extremely quiet.
So that means that all other noise sources
will be all the more prominent.
So we set ourselves a target of making
a really really quiet vehicle for the e-tron.
- [Gerhard Wickern] The e-tron was
a very interesting project for an aerodynamicist.
It was a rare chance to start with white paper
and you get a lot of things as
an aerodynamicist you always dream of.
- [Moni Islam] I think one of the unique things
about the e-tron is that it has this
very sporty, very coupe-like silhouette,
which is quite uncharacteristic of an SUV.
One of the very fundamental reasons it has this shape
is that the aerodynamics require it.
Since the e-tron is a fully battery electric vehicle,
it gives us as aerodynamicists quite
a number of possibilities that we can work with
to generate an aerodynamic optimum.
First off is the fact that we have
a closed and a flat underbody,
which is the dream of every aerodynamicist.
- [Gerhard Wickern] On an electric car there's
a large area which is smooth and flush anyway,
because it's under shield of the battery,
and for the rest, so under the axles,
we have designed nice covers which are
equally flush to the battery underside.
- [Moni Islam] We have another feature
like the active inlet shutters which allow us
to resrict the flow of cooling air
to configurations only where it's needed.
- [Gerhard Wickern] An electric car needs
much less cooling than a conventional car
so we have a cooling shutter which closes.
- [Moni Islam] We have the inlet ducts
at the front side of the vehicle which allow us
to channel air in a very efficient way from
the front to the side of the vehicle.
We have included acoustic dampening glass
which basically filters out the important
frequencies of wind noise.
We took the best of everything that we had
in our toolbox and we developed it into this vehicle,
and the result is what you see now,
or actually, better, what you hear now.
It's an extremely quiet vehicle,
and it's one of the quietest vehicles in its class.

アメリカ育ちのブラジル人とブラジル育ちのブラジル人 [Vlog#148] - Duration: 10:21.
Are you ready?
How is it gonna work?
Let's get started!
Hi
Today we have a guest
our friend, Matheus
Bruno..isn't really a guest..
so today we're going to do a bit different
He's Brazilian
but grew up in the states, didn't you?
Yes
Your native language is..
English
but he speaks Portuguese fluently, too.
He's bilingual
and learning Japanese.
Bruno is Brazilian growing up here
and speaks Portuguese
Learning Japanese and English.
So..
Spanish!
Spanish!?
Really?
A bit.
Ok, so this video will be something like
three of us that have different backgrounds
talking about cultures.
Japan
Let's talk about Japan!
Ok
So Matheus,
An image of Japan
how is it like?
How do you like about it?
Or do you have any negative image?
You've never been there.
I've never been there.
Well, you know I've always admired
Japanese culture a lot. I think it's really interesting and
you know I think it's kind of a beautiful place
because of all the different type of area that they have
Beautiful..like nature?
Beautiful nature and also I think the culture itself, you know
and its believes, the way people act.
A negative thing would be
something that we've talked about, kind of the
extreme of hiding your true feelings
and not really speaking what you want to speak and being yourself.
So hearing what he said, Bruno,
Positive and negative image of Japan?
Yeah
Bruno has been to Japan
3 times.
What do you think?
of positive thing?
Well,
by hearing what Matheus said..
by the way what did he say?
I don't know.
I said like people are hiding their true feelings..
not clear
Is it true?
Yes
You think so?
I think so.
But actually
I'm not really sure
because the only Japanese I can talk to is you.
But you know my family and friends.
Well, yeah
At least your family is transparent to me
I think..
your dad and mom.
Have you felt someone '' cloudy'' ?
Maybe your friend, yes.
Was he hiding something?
Yeah, he may be smiling all the time
but once he gets his phone in his hand like this
totally different
so like
different personality
looks like he's hiding something.
No one is that good all the time.
No one.
So you're calling Japanese people liars?
A little.
Lies as manners.
Matheus, you came to Brazil from the USA
when you were 15.
Did you get any culture shock when you got here
comparing the states and Brazil?
Brazil
Big culture shock
I didn't know how to deal with it.
It was very shocking,
well I don't know, everything is so different.
But what exactly?
People
you know here everyone wants to hug you, kiss you
Too close
Everyone's like 'Yeah!' happy all the time.
Personal space
And I was like..box
Be away from me.
Yes
And also like food
meals
school
School?
Because here everyone's like crazy
and the teacher's trying to explain
and people are throwing paper balls..
Really?
Yes
When you have to give attention to the teacher
students are throwing paper balls..
Is it true?
Yes
Really? What's that?
Usual
Wow..
Very comon
In the states that doesn't happen..
Well in Japan, either, it's impossible.
By the way!
They both are Brazilians, these two looking very different.
For you, Bruno, what do you think
about a person like him as Brazilian?
What do you think?
You both have same nationalities
but he was there quite long
and now he's here..
He's more American than Brazilian
because he grew up there.
So you consider him as..
American.
At least my image towards him is, yes
because till 15?
Yeah 15
Until 15 years old he was there so..
I see.
Because to us, Brazilians, blood isn't that important
but where you were born(grew up) is more important.
He basically grew up there so he's American.
In Japan it's a bit different.
We care about blood.
Our bloods are all over the world.
(In Japan) blood and appearance
So I guess it was pretty shocking for him when he got here.
Anyone from any developed counties would be shocked
School is one of them.
We really don't have motivation to learn,
the quality is bad
no one is interested in learning..
I felt that a lot.
In the states people study to pass the exam to get into a good university
but here it's like '' yes! I passed!"
it was good enough
It's normal to pass the exam but we Brazilians are waiting for '' congratulations!"
Yeah (what? I wasn't listening..)
I'm still like that, right?
I say 'Harumi, I got 10 on the test!' but you're like 'ok'.
Ah ok, about the test..
I wasn't listening.
USA
Bruno actually has been there
in the states
like hanging a bit
one day or two (actually it was like a few hours)
Houston
In Houston..where did we go?
ahhh..Space center!
We visited there
NASA
Did you enjoy
America?
I had a very good hamburger.
It's true
it's good
and Mexican food.
Yeah I love Mexican food.
Do you like it?
We don't have a lot here in Brazil.
Do you like..
spicy food?
I love it.
I'm good with spicy.
He's not a Brazilian.
Why?
They say they like
but like a drop of chili, something like that.
Right
I can't have food that is too spicy. It's suffering for me.
I miss Mexican food.
We're talking about a Thai restaurant that Bruno's uncle runs here in Cabo Frio.
A bit expensive though.
We went there just once.
Yeah just once.
You know Pad Thai, right?
That costs like more than 90 reais.
And it's not even enough for one person.
Very small
But is it good?
Yeah it's good
but a bit expensive.
Japan, again
The final question
Culture shock that you got in Japan, Bruno
Me? in Japan?
Yeah, do you have any?
The big culture shock that I had, and also till now what surprises me is
ofuro.
Ofuro?
Good? or bad?
When I went there for the first time, everyone was naked and
Oh ok the one in the public
It's very strange
I'm not used to this, you know. In Brazil we go to beach.
Everyone is almost naked but still not naked
so it shocked me a lot.
Good and bad. Now I got used to and I actually like it, though.
What about you, what do you think?
I don't know.
Ofuro is like hot spring
This one
Oh ok
It's very common.
It's very strange.
But don't they have towels or something?
Well, so
we have this tiny towel and you've got to decide what you wanna hide.
But when you actually get into the water you can't use it.
But the thing is people put towels on their shoulders like this
and walk around.
Is it normal?
Yeah it is.
In Japan sexuality is kinda hided
but at ofuro everyone is walking naked and it's super normal.
It's so strange!
It's very different from here.
In Brazil sexuality is quite open
like people having sex on the street but we go like '' ok they're in love", you know?
But men and women are separated!
Another thing that I like about Japan is
organization.
There're rules and manuals.
They have rules that have to be done and people respect them.
That's good because here in Brazil is like whatever.
Even if there's a manual people ignore.
Yeah, right.
Ok
By the way is it recording.?
Yes!
So today we had a guest, Matheus for the first time!
So thank you, Matheus-san!
If we have another chance..
Where is 'Arigato- Bruno-san!'' ?
Thank you, Bruno!
That's it!
If we get a chance let's do this again.
Sure, I love this.
Ok, so that's it! Bye!
