In a healthy stylist colorful soul

If you already have some experience in nail stylization

you know that our work can be very exhausting,

also physically.

Those who are just starting their adventure with nail art

I deprive him of his childhood dreams and illusions

It's a hard job, and often happens

that very much affects our health.

I have over a dozen years of experience in this industry

and unfortunately I know perfectly what stylists often complain about

You can spend up to 12 hours a day in a harmful situation

and then spend half the salary on the physiotherapist.

It's only a bit of a missed goal

That's why I invited a specialist to today's episode

which will help you to take care of the right attitude.

Welcome.

My guest is Michał Dobosz

personal trainer and nutritional adviser.

Hi, today I will try in the most accessible way

introduce you to basic threats

for your silhouettes, which are a consequence of the work you do.

It is not without reason that the sedentary mode of work is one of the more burdensome.

A long-term battle with your own body,

duplicated movement errors, taking the wrong position

and the fact that there is not really a correct, body-free position

in which we should sit

they can be the cause of many nagging symptoms.

Hmm, what are the symptoms?

What's most common to us?

The list is quite long: migraine headaches,

back pain in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar segments

knee pain and, above all, general stiffness and reduction of movement ranges.

Each of the above-mentioned symptoms can have many causes

We will deal with the four most important today.

Excellent. Let's look at the body posture of an exemplary nail stylist.

I am not a specialist in this field, but my back hurts from just looking at her posture

Indeed, one of the basic problems is dead buttocks syndrome

also called buttock amnesia.

It is a complex of ailments very characteristic for our times

and above all for the sitting working mode.

Many hours of sitting causes first of all the impairment of muscle tone

in the back of the body, focusing mainly on the buttocks.

They are subjected to a long-lasting stretching stimulus

what results them, you can say with dying

Unfortunately, our bodies are not simple biomechanical mechanisms

which means

If there is muscle tension somewhere, it will grow

it will also fall somewhere.

It is obvious.

Muscles that increase their tension

it's mainly: hip flexor muscles

and conductors.

Hmmm ... it does not sound good.

Can we somehow check if this problem concerns us?

Yes, you can do a very simple test.

Stand sideways to the mirror

and try to do the squat.

If you notice when going down your knees

they come forward, in front of the finger line and run to the center

plus you are not able to maintain the correct position of the spine

means your buttocks are dead.

Preventive measures in this case, unfortunately, do not give full effect

we can improve this condition to some extent

thanks to the change of an ordinary seat to the so-called saddle

In addition, appropriate exercises are important

thanks to which you are able to reduce the likelihood of a problem appearing.

Let's be aware, however, that not everyone can afford

for expensive and time-consuming visits to the gym.

Is there anything we can do at home,

and preferably at work?

Of course.

These exercises can be done both at home and during work breaks

Check this out.

We set ourselves in kneeling

one leg extended strongly forward

the other is based on the knee

with whole body weight

we are going far ahead

so that the knee of the forward leg goes as far as possible

you should already feel the stretch

within the left hip.

We put our left hand behind the leg, rotate the torso to the side

we hold a few seconds.

We're back to the starting position.

By analogy, we do this exercise in the same way

when it comes to the other side

We are moving hard forward,

we rotate the shoulder ring towards the leg

hold it

we are going back to the starting position.

The next exercise is an exercise that improves

the tension on gluteal muscles.

We lie on our backs

keep your legs bent in your lap,

feet are in contact with the ground,

hands along the torso.

Toes gently pointing outwards

The whole movement is very simple,

it's about pushing your hips up

using only the gluteal muscles.

Firmly taut buttocks, hold in this position for a moment

we're slowly letting go down.

We repeat the movement from 10 to 15 times.

In two or three series.

Remember that an important issue of this exercise

is to use only gluteal muscles

Do not focus on the movement itself

focus on attaching your buttocks.

Thanks to this you will get exactly the same movement that you can see now.

We were the first to discuss the buttock

I know, however, that our barges are another painful area

Can we remedy something here?

Of course, the problem of shoulder protraction may be problematic

it is mainly caused by sitting work

during which we are forced to perform activities on our outstretched hands

If the situation persists for a long time

some muscle groups are relaxed

and consequently the same as with the buttocks

the antagonistic muscles tense

Usually - this word is worth emphasizing -

we relax the muscles responsible for the correct position of the shoulder blade

that is, the muscles of the middle of the back

and increased voltage can be observed

within the chest, shoulders and lower back.

I know the attitude that generates this problem perfectly.

Let's take a look at our model.

When the stylist wants to be too nice and does not want to ask a client

she reached out to her

It ends with the fact that the manicurist almost lies on the counter

and extends his hands almost all over the desk

just to keep the client's hands.

Such a situation should absolutely not take place

we must show assertiveness, because this attitude is extremely burdensome for us

What are the symptoms of shoulder protraction?

The most common symptoms are

tingling and numbness in the upper limbs

pain in the thoracic spine and neck

respiratory problems

and difficulty in swallowing food.

Headaches may also occur.

Can we somehow prevent this?

Preventive actions are able to reduce the likelihood of a problem.

let's look first and foremost to work as much as possible on shortened hands

Keep your elbows quite close to your torso

and above all, remember about the right choice of the worktop height of the work surface.

So what should be our high table for work?

The height of the countertop is a very individual matter

it has an impact on the stylist's rise,

and the height of the seat.

Remember that during the procedure we should feel comfortable.

They can help you with the following exercises.

We are standing in a lying position, on the back

hands are set this way

Remember that both your elbows and hands have the smallest distance to the mat.

Putting our hands up, we are looking for a position in which we feel a strong stretch in the chest area

If you find such a place, you hold for a few seconds

We slowly return to the starting position.

You can repeat this movement until you find a place where you can

stretching is the strongest.

We set ourselves in a lying position, on the stomach.

Ankles, knees together.

Both hands behind the ears.

We bend our elbows up high, fixing the blades.

Remember to not raise your neck too high.

You hold the moment in this position.

We slowly return to the starting position.

Barges are one thing, but going higher

I often feel that there is something wrong with the neck.

Another problem resulting from the sedentary work mode 170 00:09:06,140 --> 00:09:08,140 maybe neck protraction.

Long hours in a sitting position and with the client at the so-called precise work

very often they force us to head forward.

That's right, we usually do it to see better and make our work more precise.

Here, however, the problem of the loose hand of our client is bowing

Remember that the rigid hand with which we have to fasten for two hours

it is not only uncomfortable.

It is primarily harmful to us.

Let's see the attitude of our stylist.

Holding your head in this way is a torment for our neck.

Exactly.

Ejecting your head just 2.5 cm

we increase the load on the spine by 4.5 kg.

And these additional 4.5 kg constitute practically twice as much load on the cervical spine

as compared to the normal position.

Hmmm and I assume that the effects of neck protraction will probably be very painful for us too.

Unfortunately yes.

The most common symptoms in this case are

above all headaches,

stiff neck and reduced mobility of the cervical spine

respiratory problems associated with reduced oxygen absorption

and, unfortunately, neurological symptoms such as dizziness and perceptual disorders.

But prevention, I'm sure we can do something about it.

Prevention is very simple

do not lead to a situation in which you stretch the neck forward for a long time.

As in the previous issue, a properly selected height of the worktop will help

and exercises stretching the neck, which we will show you.

We will present you with simple exercises aimed at stretching the neck

and improving its mobility

You can do them both in a standing position and in a sitting position.

We take the starting position, we put both hands behind our heads

We relax the muscles of the neck, strongly attract the beard towards the sternum.

You continue to move until you feel strong stretching at the back of your neck.

Hold your position.

Let's go back to the starting position.

You load the right hand from the left side of the head

you tighten the right ear firmly towards the right shoulder.

Slowly, let's go back to the starting position.

On the other hand, exactly the same.

Hold it for a moment.

We slowly return to the starting position.

Then, put your right hand on the left side at the level of your jaw

the left hand from the right side of the back of the head and turn it hard to the point where we feel the stretch.

We slowly return to the starting position.

Analogously, on the other hand, the same.

We're slowly letting go.

We discussed issues related to the back

but the stylist of nails works mainly with hands

And it is our hands that often refuse to obey.

Indeed, the most common problem in the hands and wrists

there is carpal tunnel syndrome.

This is a typical condition for precision work.

associated with the pressure of the median nerve extending through the wrist canal.

The reasons for this are simple.

During work, we take the wrong position of the hand which leads to the creation of pressure

It is worth mentioning that women unfortunately are in an increased risk group

and it affects them more often.

In addition, the risk of developing a carpal tunnel may increase

and what in your work is the norm to use vibrating tools.

Hmm, from what I know the symptoms are quite obvious.

Stylists complain of numbness of thumb, index and ring finger as well as general weakness of the grip.

And now my standard question is: how can we prevent this?

A soft pad, which will correct your hand position and reduce pressure, may help

Exercises will also be necessary, which if disappeared, may initially cause discomfort

and even, unfortunately, pain.

We reach out to the side

We turn it face down.

The thumb is strongly directed back.

Fingers down

We pull the right ear to the right shoulder.

Hold a moment in this position.

We're slowly letting go.

We're back to the starting position.

This time we stretch our hand forward.

We press our fingers into a fist.

We hold for 2-3 seconds.

We're slowly letting go

Turn the palm over, with the other hand grab the thumb, stretch.

Remember that the elbow is straightforward all the time.

You're slowly letting go.

Return to the starting position.

We have introduced to you the most common problems related to your work mode

Thanks to the demonstrated exercises, you can prevent or mitigate their effects.

Remember, however, that if the situation does not improve, go to a good physiotherapist

And by the way, each of you should visit such a specialist regularly.

It would seem that these are truisms or insignificant details

However, when conducting trainings, I often see that stylists pay less attention to the comfort and safety of work

than to the number of hybrids in its assortment.

In the meantime, if we do not take care of our own health early enough

it may turn out that pain can completely exclude us from working in the nail stylization industry.

Michał, thank you very much.

Thank you too.

And I invite you to exercise.

Using vibrating tools

[hahaha] sorry

I know, but honestly you will not call it different.

10 THINGS YOU HAVE NOT SEEN in CS:GO #3 - Duration: 6:30.

I feel like intros are overrated on YouTube, so here is a giveaway for today for those

guys who are not here only for the content and welcome to the 10 things you have not seen in CS:GO.

Let's begin with a cool off-angle on De_Overpass.

I found it randomly in the middle of my casual Overpass

exploration journey.

Open the door towards connector and let one friendly teammate to boost you on the door like this.

It's a situational one, but still a nice off-angle to spice up your gameplay.

If you combine it with a right-click smoke like this it's a great position to look over

the smoke and guard T-side connector.

As you can see it's almost impossible to spot you there, especially if you know nothing

about this spot.

Try it out yourself.

Before moving on into idea number nine.

I want to talk about Lootbear.

Lootbear is a site to rent / buy and sell your skins for real money.

There are zero skin renting sites out on the market right now, it's your only option to

earn money by renting out your own skins.

Or you can actually rent yourself some skins that you could never afford to buy yourself.

Of course you got plenty of different Dragon Lores to choose from and some other high tier skins..

They also have more cool features..

Lootbear has launched the gear shopping option for skins, which is dope..

For example, you can exchange your Butterly Urban Masked knife to a Razer Mamba Elite.

Supergeneral.

I will leave the link down below, you can just browse around, rent yourself some skins

or start earning by renting out your skins..

De_Inferno, CT side banana.

One creative 2 man tower I haven't seen in play yet, but in my opinion, it could be a

nice surprise for the enemy team, especially if they

don't have much utility in their hands.

So let your teammate stand up on the very edge on these sandbags and climb on top of him.

Now you have a chance to look over this wall like this.

Kinda supergeneral.

Believe me, they don't expect your head to right here and it would be a nice surprise

for them.

If you have balls, try it out.

Next up, in my opinion, very easy but unique smoke from the Faceit's London major and it

was thrown by Liquid Twistzz.

We are in T spawn on Mirage, get to this position.

Now aim at this bright area.

If you are ready then run and jumpthrow when you reach this dark wooden thing.

It suits well for B rushes.

Of course, you are welcome to add more smokes and flashes, but this back site smoke is a

quick and easy addition to your fast B hit.

It can help you to get the bomb down safely.

Enjoy.

Alright, De_Train.

If you are an AWPer on the B bombsite.

You can actually affect more than just B, with this wallbang I'm going to show you,

you can actually kill people from up ladder.

So, let's say you want to be somewhere safe.. take a position like this.

And now aim at this black dot.

It's located top right from the star.

I tried to find a lineup that's easy as possible.

If you feel it's the right time or maybe even pop dog player is calling someone is wallbanging

the pop dog then start shooting.

It's a great shooting line and if they are close to the ladder, you should do some damage.

But at the same time, make sure you have B under your control as well.

These are just creative approaches to the game, not the basics you should always do..

keep that in mind.

Cache, A bombsite.

I found a way how you could throw a self-popflash to the squeaky.

It's not the easiest self-popflash out there, but when you got full A main control and you

know there should be enemies in squeaky you can try to go for that.

Line yourself up with this brick and aim at this corner like shown.

If you are ready, then run a tiny bit and quickly open the door.

Make sure you won't get flashed yourself and you'll be good.

Of course it would still be better and more effective, when your teammate flashes you

in for squeaky.. but it's still something I haven't seen yet myself and can do the work

if needed in a certain situation.

Next up, Train again.

Creative angle for B lowers I saw from Reddit some time ago.

You have to have a scoped weapon to abuse it properly and autosniper works the

best for that.

De_Cache once again and an idea that involves squeaky door again.

Just open the door and make a boost on the door.

Nice little offangle that I haven't seen in play yet.

It could be pretty powerful when there are some people coming towards squeaky, but if

they come from main, keep in mind that they can see your legs first.

Here is another cool off-angle I found.. teammate who is boosting you can look towards squeaky

and you can catch anyone pushing fork off-guard.

This tiny gap should be unspottable.

It can work well for the first frags, but if they get close, wallbang you and close

the door, you may need a plan B.

Overpass.

This truck actually provides you a fully visible wall.

It's not wallbangable, but you can see through it.

So if you spot an enemy.. you can stand up shoot and then crouch again.

Just keep in mind that their visibility is even better.. but still you can play the crouch

and shoot game with them and they just have to either push or wait for you to peek out.

De_Dust2.

Unique one way smoke from G2 boddyy.

Get to this position and crouch.

Look for this dark dot on the wall and left click throw.

Now jump on these boxes and enjoy your one way vision towards A bombsite.

It's very hard to spot you from this position.

The key is to throw the smoke at the very right time.. so enemy team is pushing to the

site, but they can't get a backstab kill on you.

And the last quick little easter egg comes from the Overpass once again.

Balloons.

You can easily pop them with flashes, molotovs, smokes.. but not with a nade.

Makes sense right?

If you want to see more absurd stuff, then just click on the next non-sense CS:GO video.

Seeya there!

MAKING OF 04 (MUSICAL) - A VIDA DE JAIME - Duration: 4:23.

[imitating] You're my Cinderella and I'm your prince...

And my heart is dying for love.

PEDRO: That's "Pedro and Bino" singing, right?

VINÍCIUS: Thota, take a look there just to see if the camera is on a good position.

LUCIANO: Why did you put that camera down there?

THOMAZ: It's good, so good. Look there!

PEDRO: Right on, right on your balls!

THOMAZ: It's so good! Amazing!

LUCIANO: Passion! You have to...

[Délcio's voice] You're my Cinderella and I'm your prince, and my heart is dying for love.

LUCIANO: Ask me that my ear is better.

LUCIANO: My ear.

LUCIANO: Ask me if the note was good because I have the best ear.

PEDRO: The bass is simple...

LUCIANO: The ideal is to record the drums directly... because is fast.

THOMAZ: But don't play the guitar when you sing, ok?

LUCIANO: Oh, stop playing that song there!

THOMAZ: Does not suit the environment.

LUCIANO: This is Délcio!

LUCIANO: We're the bad boys!

THOMAZ: What just happened?

LUCIANO: I think a guy just got here.

LUCIANO: And he kicked something...

VINÍCIUS: Wasn't it the camera that fell down?

THOMAZ: It was!

LUCIANO: God!

LUCIANO: And the camera was fall straight to the floor!

PEDRO: It was a shipwreck!

THOMAZ: And there's no cushion.

LUCIANO: No cushion...

LUCIANO: It's much better than I had imagined.

LUCIANO: Well, and there is still the violin coming.

LUCIANO: You're not going to play the violin on that fucking keyboard.

LUCIANO: It's me who's going to take the violin.

VINÍCIUS: He's playing along. He does not allow it! It's incredible!

THOMAZ: He can not stand it! SEBASTIÃO: It's going to roll. It'll roll. Now it's going to roll.

SEBASTIÃO: I think it's going to roll now... it's going to roll.

THOMAZ: Can I delete this one then?

SEBASTIÃO: No! You can leave this one. It was good!

THOMAZ: Oh, but we have not heard it yet.

SEBASTIÃO: You can leave it because I know it's good!

SEBASTIÃO: Rolled, no?

THOMAZ: It was you who hit your finger there, right? Certainly...

SEBASTIÃO: Of course!

THOMAZ: Oh, Tião, I'm going to cry, man...

THOMAZ: Oh my God, man...

THOMAZ: What is it, bro? SEBASTIÃO: You only have to cut one...

THOMAZ: He recorded! And in the first try!

THOMAZ: His CD took him a year to record.

THOMAZ: Son of a bitch!

VINÍCIUS: I'm listening, okay?

SEBASTIÃO: Look, look, look! It's going to burn, damn it! It's going to burn!

THOMAZ: Oh, no!

THOMAZ: It's already become a mess!

VINÍCIUS: You come and walk here...

PEDRO: Soon the guy puts out his cigarette and talks thus: "How do I get it out of here?"

THOMAZ: Put it in the speaker over there!

THOMAZ: I don't give a fuck! There, on the speaker!

PEDRO: On the screen!

PEDRO: Put it on the screen!

THOMAZ: Man, if you want to spit on the computer, you can spit at will!

VINÍCIUS: Oh Thomaz, you son of a bitch!

LUCIANO: Fonseca does not know how to push play.

LUCIANO: The guy does not know how to play!

THOMAZ: Well, guys...

LUCIANO: Turn the volume down a little.

LUCIANO: Fonseca does not know how to do it.

LUCIANO: Did you just roll that little ball, Thomaz?

LUCIANO: Fonseca could not do it...

THOMAZ: I thought it was a microphone, bro.

THOMAZ: I thought: I'm going to turn down the microphone volume...

LUCIANO: From the beginning I told to be two minutes.

LUCIANO: It was much better.

VINÍCIUS: Yeah... that's what you said.

VINÍCIUS: Come back!

VINÍCIUS: Put the part he said.

PEDRO: Rewind, selecta.

LUCIANO: It's two intros and two accelerated parts.

LUCIANO: Twice.

THOMAZ: Just get it and paste it?

LUCIANO: Yeah, just paste. And fuck off.

THOMAZ: So it's going to be four minutes of music. VINÍCIUS: No, it's two minutes.

LUCIANO: Wow, of course! VINÍCIUS: No, two minutes, man...

LUCIANO: Too nice.

LUCIANO: Very nice. Export to mp3.

LUCIANO: Success!

LUCIANO: I want to wake up tomorrow in a bed full of money.

IRONMAN HAWAII WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2018: pro triathlete race preview - Duration: 13:32.

- Morning, Trainiacs!

We are just a few days away from flying out to Ironman Kona,

the world championships of 2018.

And that means let's kick that off

with this year's edition of the Pro Race Preview.

Hopefully Mel edited in a sound effect

to make that very dramatic.

- [Mel] No! - Ugh!

(laughter)

(magical sparkle)

(electronic music)

So, Trainiacs, like we do every year

leading into the Ironman World Championships

we are going to cover who I think the main contenders are

on the men's and the women's side of the pro fields.

Now until Jan Frodeno bowed out with a stress fracture

in his hip it looked like we were going to have

one of the best match ups in modern Ironman history.

Now he's gone and that means that it's going to be

a little bit less competitive, but we still have

a lot of competitors out there on the men's side

that are going to be vying for the podium.

Now, first off, Sebastian Kienle,

a fan favorite, one of my favorites.

A lot of people have been picking Sebastian

to be on the podium, if not win the event

for the last few years.

Personally, I don't think he's there anymore.

If you look at swim, bike, run,

and my belief being that every athlete

who is going to contend for the win in Kona

needs to be strong in at least two of the three.

And I'm not saying like just kind of strong,

I'm talking world-class in at least

two of the three disciplines.

Sebastian is not.

He is world-class biking, but he's quite a bit behind

in swimming, and he's not quite there running.

So, he could potentially contend for the podium,

but I'm not necessarily going to pick him for it.

David McNamee is obviously going to come up,

being last year's third place winner on the podium.

But this year, who the hell knows

what's going on with David McNamee.

Besides seeing him win in Marbella 70.3,

we really haven't seen much racing from David this year.

So is he going to be on the podium?

I didn't know him last year,

and I barely know him this year!

So I don't know, flip a coin.

Maybe top five, maybe top 10,

maybe I don't know, gave up triathlon earlier.

My pick for the dark horse to make it onto the podium

is one of the only people to have beaten

Javier Gomez over the course of 2018,

that being Braden Currie.

Now Braden is a front of the pack swimmer,

is like a second pack kind of rider,

and is one of the best runners in the field.

He set a course record beating Javier Gomez

in Ironman Cairns this year, and he was

just 17 seconds behind Javier in Challenge Wanaka.

So anytime you are in the same sentence as Javier Gomez,

you are one of the leading athletes to do well in the field.

He's already raced Ironman Kona once in his career,

being 2017 where he got the first year

Kona traditional bitch slap finishing 31st.

And a lot of people go through that,

it's a very steep learning curve going to Kona.

So hopefully he takes that,

and I think he could use his fitness from this year,

combined with the knowledge that he gained last year,

to have a breakout performance

potentially making the podium.

But, the podium race I think is a three horse race

between Lionel Sanders, Patrick Lange, and Javier Gomez.

Javier's taken some lumps this year,

fading towards the end of his first full

Ironman distance race in Ironman Cairns,

losing to eventual winner Braden Currie.

He also came up with a side stitch in Ironman 70.3 Worlds,

but he was going against the best in the world,

Jan Frodeno and Alistair Brownlee

in an absolute dogfight of a race.

And he's proven year after year

in multiple distances, multiple race formats

that he's one of the best triathletes

to ever be in the sport.

It is however his first year in Kona,

so he's going to have that steep learning curve.

I think that's going to make it hard for him to win,

but being on the podium I think is very likely

for a guy as talented as Javier is.

Lionel Sanders, now I know a lot of you

want me to pick Lionel Sanders to win.

My heart wants me to pick Lionel Sanders to win,

but my head tells me that he might not.

And I worry that Lionel's head might

talk him out of being the winner

at this year's Ironman World Championships.

And I'm sorry Lionel, I love you,

but you scare the hell out of me.

What happened to you in Ironman Mont-Tremblant,

all of the nutritional changes that you've made,

all of the race nutrition that you've made,

it leaves a really wide spectrum between

your good performance day, and your bad performance day.

On a good performance day with all your talent,

with how fit you are, with all the workouts

that you're showing us on your YouTube channel,

a good performance day could be

a course record breaking kind of day.

A bad performance day could be a like,

not even in the top 20.

That wide spectrum just makes me nervous to have confidence

and pick you as the hands down winner.

I'm sorry, I want to.

Go Canada.

That's why my pick to win on the men's side for 2018

in Ironman Hawaii is Patrick Lange.

He's proven that he knows how to win and perform well

when it comes to the Big Island.

2016, unspectacular year, breaks the run course record,

finishes third on the podium.

2017, unspectacular year,

breaks the entire course record and wins the event.

2018, unspectacular year, dot dot dot.

What's gonna happen?

I look at Patrick Lange at being so well suited to Kona

because he is light, he is a runner,

he is a front pack swimmer, he is adequate on the bike,

he knows how hard he can and can't go because he knows

how much he's able to run people down in the run,

and he shows up ready to go on race day.

That's why I think the difference between

a good performance and a bad performance

between Patrick Lange is quite a bit less

than some of the other athletes.

And when it comes right down to it,

Kona is a war of attrition, it's a lasting game.

It's not who's the fastest, it's not who's the strongest,

who's the most talented, who's the smartest tactically,

it's who can last the longest.

And Patrick Lange proved last year

that even at the very end of the race, he had speed,

looked fresh, and was able to keep it together.

That's why my pick this year is Patrick Lange.

Now let's get into the women's race.

And we're all now, or like I say, I believe you need

at least two of your three disciplines to be world-class.

Mirinda Carfrae isn't quite there.

She's always relied solely on her run.

Her swim is not necessarily first class,

her bike is not necessarily first class,

her run is amazingly first class, but that swim

and bike performance puts too much pressure on her,

and my belief, to win this year with a lot

of the athletes that have up from ITU

and brought the long distance racing to another level.

Heather Jackson is in a similar sort of role,

however, with the bike being her strong suit.

I think that her run and her swim puts

a little bit too much pressure

on that bike being amazingly world-class.

And while she has dipped in and out of the podium

over the last few years, it's gonna be tough.

I think that this is one of the most

competitive years that we've ever seen in Kona.

So you gotta be well rounded now,

and I don't know if Heather's quite there.

Last year's third place female, Sarah Crowley

was injured towards the end of last year

after having an amazing 2017.

But we didn't get to see a lot of that fitness show through

until just recently, at Half Ironman Santa Cruz.

She placed third at Ironman Frankfurt.

But because she was injured, and we didn't get to see

performances consistently like we saw in 2017,

she's a bit of a question mark.

I think top three, top five very possible,

but it depends how Sarah shows up.

Is she fit, is she completely over her injury.

The more well-rounded dark horses that I think

could be the rookies that come into Kona,

make a huge splash, and contend for the podium

are the more well-rounded, former ITU athletes

that are excellent swim runners.

Both Anne Haug and Sarah True,

I think are part of that field

that are elevating the competitive level

of the women's race to another platform.

Anne Haug ran the fastest half marathon

in Half Ironman Worlds in Port Elizabeth,

placing third on the podium.

And Sarah True had a flat in Half Ironman Worlds,

so we didn't get to see her fitness really shine.

But in her full Ironman distance race debut

at Frankfurt this year she placed second.

She comes from that ITU background, lots of speed,

and she's been in the Big Island for quite a few weeks.

Gonna be well adapted to that heat, and she's pretty cool.

So, I wanna see her do well.

Now let's talk about the three women

that I think are the main podium contenders this year,

2018 Ironman World Championships.

I think Melissa Hauschildt is finally-

(record scratches)

So uh, Mel Hauschildt just sent me this email.

"I hope you are well and I look forward

"to catching up very soon in Kona.

"As you know, last year I had surgery

"for an external iliac artery endofibrosis in my left leg.

"It's a condition that comes on

"in some professional cyclists

"and triathletes after years of cycling.

"The iliac artery becomes fibrosed,

"therefore restricting blood flow to the leg.

"It comes on gradually, but then progresses to the point

"where not enough blood can get to the leg

"for it to fully function and it just shuts down.

"This year I got back up to full strength after surgery

"last year, and had a fantastic start to the season

"winning three regional championship races.

"I set course records and broke

"the Ironman World Record in Texas.

"Two months ago I raced in Cebu

"and my right leg shut down on the bike,

"and I was forced to walk, jog, drag my leg

"across the line for third place.

"My number one focus this year is being on winning Kona,

"so I wasn't thinking clearly and

"I put it down to not tapering for this race

"after coming off a big training block.

"I got home, tried to get back to training,

"but my leg wouldn't cooperate.

"My mind was playing tricks on me

"and not accepting that the endofibrosis

"could possibly have come in the right leg now.

"I ended up getting to the point that I can't

"even kick in the pool without my leg shutting down

"and could not run more than five minutes

"without the feeling of a gorilla sitting

"on my right quad and it cramping up on, and on, and on"

Mel Hauschildt is out of Kona again

and going in for surgery at the end of October.

Sorry to hear that Mel.

My next pick for the podium...

Anne Haug.

The athlete that I do think is going to be

threatening Daniela Ryf for the podium

is Great Britain's Lucy Charles.

Lucy is one of the next great athletes in triathlon.

Not only just Ironman, but she could even

go down to short course racing, build up a ton of speed,

and make a lot of waves there.

She's probably the best swimmer in the field,

maybe neck and neck with Lauren Brandon,

but in relation to gender, those two ladies

are head and shoulders above the competition.

She's developed herself into such a good biker

that when Daniela Ryf caught up to her and passed her,

in Half Ironman World, she stayed on Daniela Ryf's wheel.

Her run isn't there yet, but that's natural.

She's only been in the sport for four years.

So give it a little bit of time,

and I think she could seriously threaten Daniela Ryf,

but it's going to take a little bit of a chink

in the armor to see Daniela Ryf falter in the marathon.

However, we saw last year that Jan Frodeno faltered

in the marathon, and I think Lucy Charles

is gonna come off the bike right with Dani,

and all it's gonna take is just a slight slip up

from Daniela Ryf for Lucy Charles to beat her.

But when it comes to choosing the winner on the women's side

it'd be stupid if I said anything other than Daniela Ryf.

After the year she's had, she has set a new standard

that I think all the women in the field

are going to be chasing.

Besides the Lauren Brandon, Lucy Charles front pack

that is way ahead of the, basically main front pack,

Daniela Ryf is a front pack swimmer.

She's the best cyclist in the field,

and one of the best runners.

She's proven that she knows how to win in Kona,

she's hungry to win in Kona, she loves winning,

she is determined to win.

So I think barring any mechanical issues,

any injury issues, or any overall health issues,

Daniela Ryf is borderline unbeatable,

so I'm going to pick her to win.

So, there you go Trainiacs.
