Waching daily Oct 7 2018

ANNOUNCER: THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM IS PAID FOR BY

THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.

JOYCE: JUST BECAUSE MY GETUP AND GO HAS GOT UP AND GONE,

THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT I HAVE TO LAY DOWN WITH IT.

I HAVE GREATER POWER THAN HOW I FEEL.

I CAN ACTUALLY SAY, "I AM GOING TO GET UP OFF OF THIS COUCH,

AND I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING WITH MY LIFE."

GINGER: AS WE WALK THROUGH EACH NEW DAY, WE ALL HAVE

QUESTIONS.

THEY'RE JUST PART OF LIFE, BUT DID YOU KNOW THERE ARE

ANSWERS FOR YOU?

GOD SAYS WHEN WE LOOK, WE'LL FIND HIM, HE'S NOT TRYING

TO HIDE ANYTHING.

SO TOGETHER, WE ARE DISCOVERING LIFE'S EVERYDAY ANSWERS.

GINGER: OUR SHOW TODAY ON "EVERYDAY ANSWERS"

IS A VERY IMPORTANT ONE.

IT'S A TOPIC THAT WE TAKE VERY SERIOUSLY, SO IF YOU OR SOMEONE

YOU KNOW AND LOVE HAS BEEN DEALING WITH DEPRESSION, GET

THEM IN FRONT OF THIS PROGRAM.

IN FACT, WE DID A TWITTER POLL AND WE ASKED THE QUESTION,

"DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS DEALING WITH DEPRESSION?"

AND 85% OF THE PEOPLE SAID YES.

WE KNOW THAT IT'S PRACTICALLY AN EPIDEMIC IN OUR SOCIETY.

PEOPLE ARE DEALING WITH SOME REALLY DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES,

AND WE KNOW THAT GOD HOLDS ANSWERS THAT CAN CHANGE THEIR

LIVES, THAT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

WE'VE RECEIVED MANY, MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DIFFERENT

CIRCUMSTANCES THAT PEOPLE DEAL WITH THAT ARE SO HARD AND OFTEN

LEAD TO DEPRESSION, SO JOYCE STOPPED BY TO ANSWER THEM.

GINGER: JOYCE, WE HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS, ALWAYS PEOPLE

ARE ASKING ABOUT GETTING OVER A BROKEN HEART AND FEELING

DEPRESSED.

AND WE KNOW THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF ROUGH CIRCUMSTANCES IN LIFE,

PEOPLE WHO ARE DESPERATELY HURTING, BUT WE ALSO KNOW THAT

THERE'S A GOD WHO LOVES US AND WANTS TO HELP US THROUGH

ALL THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.

SO, LET'S START A LITTLE BIT BY TALKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT WE

KNOW DEPRESSION IS REAL.

TO SAY THAT GOD WANTS US TO BE BETTER DOES NOT MEAN THAT

DEPRESSION DOESN'T EXIST.

THERE ARE MANY REASONS THAT PEOPLE ARE DEPRESSED, SO WHAT

WOULD YOU SEE AS SOME OF THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES AND SOME OF THOSE

REASONS THAT PEOPLE MAY BE DEALING WITH?

JOYCE: WELL, I MEAN, DEPRESSION CAN JUST BE CAUSED

FROM EVEN CHEMICAL DISORDERS IN YOUR BODY.

SO, A LOT OF TIMES WHEN WE TALK ABOUT DEPRESSION, WE'RE ALMOST

TALKING ABOUT IT MORE NOT FROM A MEDICAL STANDPOINT, BUT MORE

FROM, LIKE, LETTING YOURSELF GET DOWNTRODDEN AND DEPRESSED

BECAUSE OF JUST YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.

AND NOBODY-- GINGER: AND RECOGNIZING

THERE'S A DIFFERENCE.

JOYCE: YEAH.

NOBODY IS SAYING THAT THAT'S--THAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES

AREN'T REAL, BUT IT'S THE JOY OF THE LORD THAT CAN BE OUR

STRENGTH, NOT THE--YOU KNOW, ONE OF THE GREAT THINGS ABOUT LIVING

THE RESURRECTION LIFE IN CHRIST THAT PAUL PRAYED FOR, THAT I

MIGHT KNOW HIM IN THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION THAT LIFTS ME

OUT FROM AMONG THE THINGS GOING ON IN THE WORLD EVEN WHILE I'M

IN THIS BODY.

SO, IT'S NOT THAT CIRCUMSTANCES AREN'T REAL, IT'S NOT THAT THEY

DON'T HURT US, BUT I WAS JUST REMINDED AGAIN RECENTLY THROUGH

A BOOK THAT I'M READING THAT, YOU KNOW, EMOTIONS ARE

SO VOLATILE.

AND THERE'S SO MANY THINGS THAT CAN MAKE THEM FLUCTUATE.

AND REALLY, IF YOU JUST WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO PAY ATTENTION

TO YOUR EMOTIONS FOR ONE WEEK.

I MEAN, THE WEATHER CAN AFFECT THEM, HOW YOU SLEPT CAN AFFECT

THEM, WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY OR DO CAN AFFECT THEM.

SO WE--ONE OF THE PRIVILEGES THAT WE HAVE AS BELIEVERS IS

LEARNING TO NOT DENY OUR EMOTIONS, BUT ALSO NOT LET THEM

CONTROL US.

GINGER: RIGHT, TO LIVE BEYOND THEM, AS YOU SAY.

JOYCE: TO LIVE BEYOND THEM.

AND SO, THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT IN CHRIST, THERE'S ALWAYS HOPE.

AND SO, NO MATTER HOW DOWN YOU FEEL, IF YOU HAVE HOPE, WHICH IS

AN EXPECTATION THAT THINGS ARE GOING TO CHANGE, THAT THINGS CAN

CHANGE, THAT SOMETHING GOOD IS GOING TO HAPPEN, IF YOU HANG

ONTO THAT HOPE, THEN YOU WON'T STAY DEPRESSED.

BUT LIKE I SAID, THERE ARE MEDICAL REASONS FOR DEPRESSION.

YOU KNOW, THERE ARE THINGS THAT MAY BE HURTING PEOPLE FROM

A LONG, LONG TIME AGO THAT ARE UNRESOLVED ISSUES IN THEIR LIFE

THAT THEY MAY NEED TO DEAL WITH.

SOME PEOPLE I THINK END UP FEELING DEPRESSED AND SAD

BECAUSE THEY'RE ANGRY, THEY'VE BEEN ANGRY FOR A LONG TIME AT

SOMEONE OR ABOUT SOMETHING, AND THEY NEED TO WORK THROUGH

THE PROCESS OF FORGIVENESS.

SO, IT'S NOT JUST A ONE ANSWER FITS ALL WHEN IT COMES TO THIS,

BUT GOD HAS PROVIDED A BETTER WAY FOR US TO LIVE.

GINGER: YEAH, AND THERE IS HOPE FOR EVERY SITUATION.

JOYCE: ABSOLUTELY.

GINGER: WELL, HERE'S A QUESTION FROM AVELINE.

SHE SAYS, "I'M BROKENHEARTED AND LOST.

WHY IS GOD NOT SHOWING ME ANY WAY THAT THINGS WILL GET

BETTER?" JOYCE: WELL, I DON'T THINK

IT'S A MATTER OF GOD NOT SHOWING US, I THINK IT'S A MATTER OF

WHETHER WE'RE WILLING TO SEE IT OR NOT.

YOU KNOW, I HAD A VERY INTERESTING THING HAPPEN JUST

RECENTLY AND IN MY OWN WALK WITH GOD.

I WAS--I WAS TELLING GOD SOMETHING I NEEDED HIM TO DO.

YOU KNOW, "I NEED YOU TO DO THIS."

GINGER: WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE, YEAH.

JOYCE: I WAS--I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER NOW WHAT WAS GOING ON,

BUT IT WAS SOMETHING I DIDN'T LIKE, AND I NEEDED GOD TO DO

SOMETHING.

AND THE ANSWER JUST CAME BACK TO ME SO SWEETLY FROM GOD,

"I NEED YOUR FAITH."

AND THAT JUST KEEPS STICKING WITH ME THAT, YOU KNOW, WE HAVE

TO BE SO CAREFUL THAT WE DON'T LOSE OUR FAITH.

YOU KNOW, THE BIBLE TALKS ABOUT FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT

OF FAITH.

AND SO, I'VE BEEN WALKING WITH GOD FOR 40 YEARS AND TEACHING

THE WORD FOR OVER 40 YEARS, AND SO, YOU KNOW, YOU WOULD THINK

THAT MY FAITH WOULD BE PERFECT ALL THE TIME.

BUT JUST LIKE ANYBODY ELSE, YOU CAN LET CIRCUMSTANCES CROWD IN

AND BEGIN TO THINK, "WELL, GOD, YOU KNOW, I--"

BUT SEE, THE POINT IS AS LONG AS WE ARE BELIEVING GOD,

GOD IS WORKING.

NO MATTER WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE, NO MATTER WHAT IT FEELS LIKE,

GOD IS WORKING.

AND SO, I THINK THAT THIS BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY, IF SHE

WOULD JUST MAYBE LOOK AT THINGS A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY INSTEAD OF

JUST--YOU KNOW, WE CAN DROWN IN THE WAY WE FEEL AND JUST--I

MEAN, LITERALLY JUST BE EATEN UP BY THE WAY WE FEEL.

"AND WELL, I FEEL, I FEEL, I FEEL."

BUT FEELINGS ARE NOT RELIABLE.

I MEAN, THEY'RE REALLY NOT.

I MEAN, THEY'RE--THEY MAY BE REAL, BUT WHAT YOU FEEL TODAY

YOU MAY NOT FEEL TOMORROW AT ALL, WHETHER THAT'S SADNESS

OR ELATION.

AND SO, WE HAVE TO STOP LETTING OUR FEELINGS CONTROL OUR LIFE

AND LEARN THAT THERE IS A HIGHER LIFE FOR US, ONE THAT WE CAN

ATTAIN IN CHRIST JESUS.

AND SO, I WOULD JUST ENCOURAGE HER MAYBE SHE JUST NEEDS TO

SIMPLY TURN HER FAITH BACK ON AGAIN.

YOU KNOW, THERE'S A SCRIPTURE IN ROMANS 15 THAT SAYS THAT THE GOD

OF OUR HOPE WILL FILL US WITH JOY AND PEACE IN BELIEVING.

BUT REALLY THAT SCRIPTURE SAYS THE WHOLE THING.

FIRST OF ALL, IS HE THE GOD OF YOUR HOPE,

OR HAVE YOU GIVEN UP HOPE?

AND IF YOU'VE LOST YOUR JOY AND YOUR PEACE, IT'S GOING

TO BE FOUND AGAIN IN BELIEVING.

GINGER: YEAH.

JOYCE: THEN EXTRA TIME WITH GOD AND SURROUNDING YOURSELF

WITH OTHER PEOPLE THAT WILL BUILD YOU UP IS VERY IMPORTANT.

SOMETIMES, YOU HAVE TO KIND OF--YOU KNOW, I MEAN, LET'S JUST

SAY MAYBE SOMEBODY'S MARRIED TO SOMEBODY THAT JUST DOES NOT HAVE

THE GIFT OF ENCOURAGEMENT, THEY JUST DON'T GET IT,

THEY DON'T--THEY DON'T GIVE COMPLIMENTS, WHATEVER.

WELL, THEN YOU NEED TO FIND A COUPLE OF VERY ENCOURAGING

FRIENDS AND LET GOD WORK THROUGH THEM TO GIVE YOU WHAT YOU NEED.

YOU CAN'T ALWAYS EXPECT EVERY PERSON IN OUR LIFE TO GIVE US

EVERYTHING WE NEED.

SOMETIMES, WE HAVE TO TRUST GOD TO BRING WHAT I CALL DIVINE

CONNECTIONS, SO IF I'M NOT GETTING WHAT I NEED FROM THIS

PERSON, THEN GOD CAN BRING SOMEBODY ELSE.

GINGER: YEAH.

THIS IS A VERY SIMPLE BUT POIGNANT QUESTION FROM

KENY, "HOW DO I STOP FEELING UNSATISFIED?"

JOYCE: WELL, JESUS SAID IF YOU EAT AND DRINK OF HIM,

THE LIVING BREAD AND THE LIVING WATER,

THEN YOU'LL ALWAYS BE SATISFIED.

SO, I THINK THAT, YOU KNOW, A GOOD THING TO DO IS TO ASK

YOURSELF, REALLY GET HONEST WITH YOURSELF, "OKAY, WHY AM I

UNSATISFIED?

AM I UNSATISFIED BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE MYSELF?"

SOMETIMES, PEOPLE ARE NEVER GOING TO BE SATISFIED WITH

ANYTHING IN LIFE BECAUSE THEY DON'T--THEY'RE NOT SATISFIED

WITH THEMSELVES.

THERE'S A WAR GOING ON ON THE INSIDE OF THEM ALL THE TIME.

AND THAT MAY VERY WELL BE THE CASE WITH THIS

PARTICULAR PERSON.

YOU CANNOT EVER BE SATISFIED WITH ANYBODY IF YOU DON'T COME

TO A POINT OF BEING SATISFIED WITH YOURSELF.

AND WHEN I SAY THAT, I DON'T MEAN THAT YOU NEVER WANT TO

CHANGE, BUT I MEAN YOU ARE WHAT YOU ARE, AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE

THE GIFTS YOU HAVE AND MAKE THE BEST OF THEM.

BUT REALLY, DISCONTENTMENT AND DISSATISFACTION IN LIFE MANY

TIMES COMES FROM JUST NOT TRUSTING GOD.

WE'RE NOT--WE'RE WANTING TO BE WHERE WE'RE NOT, WE WANT WHAT

SOMEBODY ELSE HAS, WE DON'T HAVE THAT.

AND SO, I BELIEVE THAT ANY QUESTION THAT YOU HAVE LIKE THAT

IN YOUR LIFE, IF THIS PERSON WILL GO TO GOD AND SAY,

"NOW, WHAT IS THE ROOT OF MY DISSATISFACTION?"

THERE'S SOMETHING THERE THAT THEY'RE NOT SEEING.

AND GOD GIVES US ANSWERS.

WE MIGHT NOT ALWAYS LIKE THEM, BUT HE WILL GIVE US ANSWERS

TO WHAT'S GOING ON.

I MEAN, FOR EXAMPLE, SOMEBODY MIGHT SAY TO THE LORD,

"YOU KNOW, WHY DO I FEEL SO DISSATISFIED?"

WELL, THE ANSWER COULD COME BACK, "WELL, YOU'RE NOT

THANKFUL."

OR THE ANSWER COULD COME BACK, "WELL, YOU'RE SELFISH."

YOU KNOW?

LIKE I SAID, WE DON'T ALWAYS LIKE TO HEAR THOSE THINGS,

BUT THERE ARE REASONS WHY WE CONTINUE TO HAVE THESE ADVERSE

FEELINGS.

GINGER: BUT ANYTIME WE'RE JUST LIVING IN DISSATISFACTION,

WE'RE NOT LIVING IN THE JOY OF THE LORD.

JOYCE: NO, AND THAT'S NOT GOD'S WILL FOR US.

HE DOESN'T WANT US TO DO THAT, SO YOU GOT TO LEARN HOW TO ENJOY

WHERE YOU'RE AT ON THE WAY TO WHERE YOU'RE GOING.

AND HEY, I HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION TO DO THAT MANY DAYS

JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.

IT'S NOT THAT I'VE GOT EVERYTHING ALL TOGETHER, AND

EVERY DAY I WAKE UP, YOU KNOW, PERKY AND WANTING TO SING

A SONG, YOU KNOW?

BECAUSE THAT'S NOT THE CASE.

I HAVE TO MAKE DECISIONS LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.

GINGER: YEAH.

WELL, AS WE CLOSE, LET ME JUST ASK YOU THIS THEN.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST SUGGESTION FOR SOMEONE RIGHT NOW WHO IS

WATCHING AND IS IN THAT STATE OF DEPRESSION, AND THEY WANT

SOMETHING TO HOLD ONTO?

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THEM TO DO?

JOYCE: WELL, RIGHT AWAY, I HAVE TO REMEMBER THE PSALMIST

DAVID, WHO WROTE IN THE PSALMS THAT HE WAS GOING THROUGH--I

MEAN, HE WAS DEPRESSED, HE WAS DISCOURAGED.

AND HE SAID WHEN HE FELT THAT WAY, HE REMEMBERED GREATER DAYS

IN HIS LIFE WHEN GOD HAD DONE GREAT THINGS.

SO, I THINK WHEN YOU--WHEN YOU'RE DEPRESSED AND

DISCOURAGED, YOU NEED--YOU NEED TO FIND HOPE IN SOMETHING.

AND HOPE IS NOT A DEPRESSED STATE.

HOPE IS AN EXPECTATION THAT SOMETHING GOOD IS GOING TO

HAPPEN.

AND THE THING I LOVE IS THAT PETER SAID WE'RE BORN AGAIN INTO

AN EVER-LIVING HOPE.

SO, WHEN WE RECEIVE CHRIST AS OUR SAVIOR, WE'RE NEVER

WITHOUT HOPE.

THE ONLY WAY WE FEEL HOPELESS IS IF WE STARE AT OUR CIRCUMSTANCES

AND WE'RE JUST GLANCING AT JESUS.

BUT IF WE STARE AT JESUS, WE KEEP OUR EYES ON HIM,

AND WE JUST GLANCE AT OUR CIRCUMSTANCES.

YOU KNOW, ABRAHAM, HE KNEW HIS CIRCUMSTANCES, HE KNEW WHAT WAS

GOING ON IN HIS LIFE.

HE CONSIDERED HIS CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT HE STILL DID NOT LET THOSE

CIRCUMSTANCES STEAL HIS FAITH.

AND LISTEN, I KNOW THIS IS A BATTLE FOR EVERYBODY.

EVERYBODY HAS ISSUES IN THEIR LIFE, EVERYBODY IS GOING

THROUGH THINGS.

AND I'VE BEEN AROUND LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT I DON'T HAVE AN

ANSWER TO GET ANYBODY A PERFECT DAY EVERY DAY, BUT I DO KNOW

THAT HOPE IS A POWERFUL, POWERFUL MOTIVATOR.

IF YOU'RE SICK TODAY, YOU CAN HOPE TO FEEL BETTER TOMORROW.

IF YOU GOT HURT TODAY, YOU CAN HOPE, YOU KNOW, THAT THINGS WILL

BE BETTER TOMORROW.

THE GREAT THING, MANY GREAT THINGS ABOUT GOD, BUT ONE OF THE

GREATEST IS THAT WE ARE NEVER HOPELESS WHEN WE'RE IN HIM.

SO, I WOULD REMEMBER SOMETHING GOOD THAT'S HAPPENED TO YOU AND

EXPECT SOMETHING GOOD TO HAPPEN AGAIN TOMORROW, AND SPEND TIME

WITH GOD.

YOU KNOW, THE MORE YOU SPEND TIME WITH GOD, HE CAN REACH

PLACES IN US THAT NOBODY ELSE CAN GET TO.

SO, TOO OFTEN WE RUN TO PEOPLE TO FIX OUR PROBLEMS, AND WE WANT

THEM TO MAKE US HAPPY AGAIN.

AND A LOT OF TIMES, THEY JUST DON'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO GIVE

US WHAT WE NEED, SO WE NEED TO GO TO JESUS.

GINGER: GREAT SUGGESTION, JOYCE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

GINGER: ISN'T THAT GREAT NEWS?

GRAB ONTO THAT HOPE THAT JOYCE WAS TALKING ABOUT.

IT'S REAL, IT'S ALIVE, AND IT'S THERE FOR YOU, SO BE TENACIOUS.

COMING UP, WE HAVE MORE FROM JOYCE ON OVERCOMING DEPRESSION.

WE'LL HAVE A STORY FROM YOUR VOICE ABOUT PERSEVERING AGAINST

SOME DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES.

AND WE'LL INTRODUCE YOU TO A WOMAN WHO THOUGHT SHE WOULD BE

THE LAST PERSON IN THE WORLD TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH DEPRESSION,

BUT IT ALMOST DESTROYED HER LIFE, SO STAY TUNED FOR THAT.

AND WE ALSO WANT TO OFFER YOU SOME RESOURCES THAT WILL HELP

YOU STUDY GOD'S WORD.

YOU KNOW, THERE'S SO MUCH IN THE BIBLE,

PEOPLE WHO ARE SHARING THEIR OWN BOUTS WITH DEPRESSION,

PEOPLE WHO ARE TALKING ABOUT THE WOUNDS AND THE DEEP HURT

OF THEIR SOUL.

AND THEN GOD COMES IN AND HE HELPS THEM THROUGH THE TRUTH

OF HIS LOVE, OF HIS CARING FOR THEM.

SO, "UNDERSTANDING AND OVERCOMING DEPRESSION"

IS SOMETHING THAT REALLY HELPS US BECAUSE IT TELLS

US WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT DEPRESSION, WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO

IN YOUR LIFE.

AND THIS TEACHING FROM JOYCE IS FOUR TEACHINGS ON CD, OR

AVAILABLE BY A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD, AND IT'S YOURS TODAY FOR

ANY AMOUNT.

WE JUST WANT TO GET GOD'S WORD IN YOUR HANDS BECAUSE IT IS

SOMETHING THAT CAN CHANGE THE DARKEST OF DEPRESSIONS.

AND LIKE WE TALKED ABOUT EARLIER, THERE ARE MANY THINGS

THAT YOU HAVE TO DO, THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT YOU NEED

TO LOOK AT.

WHAT ARE THE POTENTIAL CAUSES OF YOUR DEPRESSION?

WHAT ARE SOME THINGS THAT MAY HELP YOU?

BUT WE KNOW THAT GOD'S WORD IS THE NUMBER ONE THING THAT YOU

NEED TO GRAB ONTO.

AND DEPRESSION CAN STRIKE ANYONE.

IT ISN'T BOUND BY WHO YOU ARE, YOUR SOCIAL STATUS, OR IN THIS

CASE YOUR PROFESSION.

MEET A FRIEND YOU MAY RECOGNIZE.

CHONDA: A LADY CAME UP TO ME AT THE END OF ONE OF MY

CONCERTS, SAYS, "I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD TALK ABOUT TAKING

YOUR ANTIDEPRESSANTS.

THAT MAKES YOUR FAITH LOOK WEAK."

I TOLD HER TO TAKE HER GLASSES OFF AND DRIVE HOME.

[LAUGHING]

I DID.

SOMETIMES, THERE'S A LITTLE ANGER COMPONENT TO MY

DEPRESSION.

GINGER: TO LOOK AT HER, YOU'D NEVER KNOW THAT EMMY-NOMINATED

COMEDIAN AND BEST-SELLING AUTHOR CHONDA PIERCE BATTLES

DEPRESSION.

IT TOTALLY CONTRADICTS HER PUBLIC PERSONA.

CHONDA: WHEN A, YOU KNOW, VERY RENOUNCED PSYCHIATRIST SITS

IN NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, AND LOOKS AT ME AND

SAYS, "YOU'RE--I THINK YOU'RE CLINICALLY DEPRESSED," I WAS

LIKE, "WELL, I'M A COMEDIAN.

THAT'S--THAT CAN'T BE.

THAT'S GOING TO THROW A BIG KINK IN MY JOB.

NOBODY WANTS TO BUY A TICKET AND SEE YOU CRY FOR 2 1/2 HOURS,

YOU KNOW?" GINGER: THE WORD "DEPRESSION"

HAS SORT OF BECOME HER BATTLE CRY.

CHONDA SAYS FOR FAR TOO LONG, THE WORD WAS BARELY WHISPERED

WITHIN THE WALLS OF THE CHURCH.

CHONDA: I THOUGHT DEPRESSION WOULD PROBABLY BE THE END OF MY

CAREER, AND IT REALLY TURNED OUT TO BE A GIANT RESURGENCE IN MY

CAREER IN THAT, ALL OF A SUDDEN, PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN THAT

PEW FOR YEARS HAD A VOICE.

DID YOU HEAR THAT WOMAN HAS BECOME A BILLIONAIRE SELLING

SPANX, THE WOMAN THAT CREATED SPANX IS A BILLIONAIRE?

SHE'S ALSO A SIZE TWO.

SHE'S TRYING TO TORTURE US GIRLS THAT LIKE CHEESEBURGERS.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

CHONDA: SOMETIMES, WE'RE NOT EVEN TRUTHFUL WITH

OUR OWN SELVES, MUCH LESS THE PEOPLE WE'RE

SITTING IN A PEW WITH.

AND WHEN YOU BEGIN TO HEAR YOUR VOICE SPEAK TRUTH, YOU KNOW,

THE BIBLE IS RIGHT, IT WILL SET YOU FREE.

GINGER: SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DEPRESSION 15 YEARS AGO,

SAYING SHE BELIEVES IT STEMS FROM A TROUBLED CHILDHOOD.

CHONDA: MY SISTERS AND I WERE VERY PHYSICALLY

AND INAPPROPRIATELY ABUSED AS KIDS GROWING UP.

AND THEN COUPLE THAT WITH A MAN WHO WOULD GET UP AND PREACH IN

THE PULPIT, IT MADE FOR A VERY CONFUSING CHILDHOOD.

THEN DEATH CAME ALONG, AND MY BIG SISTER WAS 20 WHEN SHE WAS

KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT, AND IT JUST--IT SHOOK THE VERY--THE

VERY ALREADY FRAGILE FOUNDATION OF MY HOME.

AND ABOUT 19, 20 MONTHS LATER, MY LITTLE SISTER CAME HOME FROM

HIGH SCHOOL WITH A SORE THROAT, AND WE TOOK HER TO ONE DOCTOR

AND TO ANOTHER, AND FOUND OUT SHE HAD LEUKEMIA.

AND IN 21 DAYS, SHE DIED.

I THINK I WAS PROBABLY DEPRESSED FOR A WHILE AT A LEVEL OF

DEPRESSION THINKING THAT WAS MY NORMAL.

WHEN ANOTHER CIRCUMSTANCE WOULD COME ALONG OR WHEN SOMETHING

ELSE PILED ON TOP OF THAT, THAT TEETER TOTTER JUST KEPT TILTING

AND KEPT TILTING UNTIL MY BRAIN CHEMISTRY COULD NO LONGER HANDLE

IT ALONE, AND I HAD TO GET SOME HELP.

AND I REMEMBER GOING TO A DOCTOR AND SITTING DOWN, AND HE SAID,

"TELL ME ABOUT--A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR CHILDHOOD."

AND I--AND I ALMOST TOLD VERBATIM WHAT I TOLD ON

THE STAGE FOR 15 YEARS.

YOU KNOW, I MEAN, 'CAUSE I HAD IT DOWN PAT.

I'D BEEN TELLING THAT STORY FOREVER.

AND HE SAID, "MY, THAT'S QUITE A LOT TO DEAL WITH."

HE GOES--I SAID, "YEAH, YEAH, BUT THE LORD'S BEEN GOOD TO ME."

HE GOES, "WELL, OF COURSE THE LORD'S BEEN GOOD TO YOU,

BUT NOW WHAT HAPPENED?

HAVE YOU EVER TALKED TO SOMEBODY ABOUT, YOU KNOW, WHAT IT'S LIKE

TO BE THE ONLY SISTER LEFT?

HOW DID THAT MAKE YOU FEEL?

DID IT MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE--YOU KNOW, THAT THE LORD

WAS PICKING ON YOU?" AND I WAS LIKE, "WELL, YEAH."

YOU KNOW?

AND IT'S LIKE, ALL OF A SUDDEN, HE BEGAN TO GET FEELINGS OUT OF

ME THAT I HAD PUSHED DOWN AND HAD SUPPRESSED, AND A LOT OF IT

WAS THINKING THAT GOD MIGHT NOT LOVE ME IF I TELL HIM THE TRUTH.

GINGER: EXPRESSING HER ANGER, FRUSTRATION, AND HER PAIN TO GOD

BECAME LIBERATING.

CHONDA: GOD DID IS TO LET THAT STUFF POUR OUT OF MY SPIRIT

SO I HAD MORE ROOM FOR HIM.

GINGER: FACING HER PAST PREPARED CHONDA FOR THE MOST

DIFFICULT MOMENT OF HER LIFE WHEN HER HUSBAND OF 31 YEARS

PASSED AWAY.

CHONDA: I HAD TO LEARN TO LIVE ON FACT, NOT ON FEELING.

I HAD TO LEARN TO BE HUMBLE ENOUGH TO TAKE MY MEDICINE IN

THE MORNING TO KEEP MY BRAIN CHEMISTRY, YOU KNOW,

FROM WHACKING OUT ON ME.

I HAD TO LEARN THAT I HAD TO GET UP AND TAKE A WALK.

I CANNOT LET MY BODY, YOU KNOW, NOT GET THOSE ENDORPHINS

FLOWING.

I LEARNED ALL THESE THINGS TO CLIMB OUT OF A DARK, DARK PLACE,

THAT THOSE TOOLS ARE SO JUST RIGHT IN THE TIPS OF MY FINGERS

WHEN THIS TERRIBLE TRAGEDY HAPPENED.

AND NOW I CAN LOOK BACK AND GO, "THANK YOU, LORD.

THANK YOU THAT I--THAT YOU HUMBLED ME ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE

OF BUSINESS BACK THEN WHEN I NEEDED TO."

THIS IS MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

IT'S WHERE WE MAKE OUR GODLY COFFEE AND TEA.

ARTWORK FROM HOME.

GINGER: SHE TRAVELS THE WORLD, SHARING HER STORY

THROUGH HUMOR AND MUSIC.

SHE WAS DOING THIS LONG BEFORE THE DEPRESSION ALMOST CONSUMED

HER LIFE, BUT THE DIFFERENCE NOW IS SHE HAS NOTHING TO HOLD BACK,

AND THE TRUTH TRULY HAS SET HER FREE.

CHONDA: THE SWEETNESS OF DEPRESSION, THE GIFT THAT IT'S

BEEN TO ME IS THAT, AT LONG LAST, I CAN LOVE GOD, AND HONOR

HIM, AND GLORIFY HIM, AND CRY OUT TO HIM BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS,

NOT HOW HE MAKES ME FEEL.

BECAUSE HE'S WORTHY, AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW I FEEL.

GINGER: WELL, YOU MAY BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS

LAUGHING ON THE OUTSIDE, BUT FEELING VERY DIFFERENT

ON THE INSIDE.

AND CHONDA EXPERIENCED A LOT OF PAIN IN HER LIFE, BUT SHE HAS

FOUND HER JOY IN THE LORD, AND SO CAN YOU.

HERE'S JOYCE.

JOYCE: NOW, DEPRESSION IS A TYPE OF DEADNESS, I THINK WE

CAN ALL SAY THAT.

ANYBODY HERE WHO'S EVER BEEN DEPRESSED FOR EVEN A HALF A DAY,

YOU KNOW THAT THERE'S NO WORSE FEELING.

YOU HAVE NO DESIRE TO DO ANYTHING.

THOUGHTS ARE DARK AND NEGATIVE.

AND YOU KNOW, WHEN DAVID WAS DEPRESSED, THE PSALMIST DAVID,

KING DAVID, WHEN HE WAS DEPRESSED, HE DIDN'T JUST LAY

THERE AND BE DEPRESSED.

LET'S LOOK AT PSALM 42 AND 43 AND JUST SEE SOME OF THE ACTION

THAT DAVID TOOK.

NOW, LET ME JUST PREEMPT WHAT I'M GOING TO SAY ABOUT

DEPRESSION BY SAYING THIS.

I KNOW THAT MANY PEOPLE SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION.

I'M NOT AT ALL BEING INSENSITIVE.

IF IT'S SOMETHING MEDICAL THAT YOU CANNOT HELP, THEN KEEP

LOOKING FOR THE HELP THAT YOU NEED UNTIL YOU GET IT.

BUT ALMOST EVERYTHING THAT I READ ON THIS SUBJECT SAYS THAT

EVEN IF DEPRESSION IS CAUSED FROM SOMETHING IN YOUR BODY OR

SOMETHING MEDICAL, YOU STILL HAVE TO FIGHT IT ON

SEVERAL LEVELS.

AND SO, MAYBE YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE MEDICAL PART,

BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE'S DEPRESSION REALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH

SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM, IT'S THE WAY THEY'RE THINKING.

COME ON, DOES ANYBODY KNOW YOU CAN THINK YOURSELF RIGHT

INTO A FIT?

IT'S THE WAY THEY TALK, IT'S THEIR OUTLOOK ON LIFE, IT'S NOT

BEING GRATEFUL, IT'S NOT BEING THANKFUL.

BUT LARGELY, IT'S JUST BY HAVING YOUR MIND ON THE WRONG STUFF,

AND THAT'S WHAT DAVID TALKS ABOUT HERE.

PSALM 42:5, I LOVE THE WAY HE TALKS TO HIS OWN SOUL.

"WHY ARE YOU CAST DOWN, O MY INNER SELF?

AND WHY SHOULD YOU MOAN OVER ME AND BE DISQUIETED WITHIN ME?

HOPE IN GOD AND WAIT EXPECTANTLY FOR HIM, FOR I SHALL YET PRAISE

HIM, MY HELP AND MY GOD."

NOW, IF YOU READ THE FIRST PART OF THIS, DAVID REMEMBERS

LIKE--LOOK AT VERSE 3, PSALM 42:3.

"MY TEARS HAVE BEEN MY FOOD DAY AND NIGHT, WHILE MEN SAY TO ME

ALL DAY LONG, 'WHERE IS YOUR GOD?'"

SO, HE WAS APPARENTLY GOING THROUGH A REALLY

ROUGH TIME.

AND EVEN PEOPLE ARE TAUNTING HIM, SAYING, "WELL, WHERE'S

YOUR GOD?" "THESE THINGS I [EARNESTLY]

REMEMBER."

I LOVE HIS RESPONSE.

"THESE THINGS I [EARNESTLY]

REMEMBER AND POUR MYSELF OUT WITHIN ME, HOW I WENT SLOWLY

BEFORE THE THRONG AND LED THEM IN PROCESSION TO

THE HOUSE OF GOD [LIKE A BANDMASTER BEFORE]--"

AND SO, I'M NOT GOING TO READ THE WHOLE THING, BUT

THERE WAS A TIME WHEN HE WAS BRINGING THE ARK OF GOD INTO

THE CITY, AND THEY THREW SUCH AN OUTRAGEOUS PARTY, AND DAVID GOT

SO UNBELIEVABLY HAPPY THAT HE STRIPPED DOWN TO A LOINCLOTH

AND DANCED IN THE STREETS.

AND HE SAID, "I'M CRYING, BUT HERE'S WHAT I'M GOING TO

THINK ABOUT."

COME ON NOW.

SEE, YOU CAN THINK ABOUT ANYTHING YOU WANT TO THINK

ABOUT.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO THINK ABOUT EVERY BAD THING THAT'S EVER

HAPPENED TO YOU IN YOUR LIFE.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO JUST THINK ABOUT ALL YOUR PROBLEMS

ALL DAY LONG.

YOU CAN CHOOSE TO REMEMBER SOME GOOD THINGS IN YOUR LIFE,

AND SO CAN I.

I REALLY WANT TO GET PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEY CAN'T BE

PASSIVE.

AND A PASSIVE PERSON WANTS SOMETHING GOOD TO HAPPEN, AND

THEY'RE JUST GOING TO SIT THERE AND WAIT TO SEE IF IT DOES.

BUT THAT WE MUST BE PURPOSEFUL PEOPLE.

WE MUST BE PEOPLE WHO LIVE ON PURPOSE.

AND BY THAT, I MEAN WE DECIDE WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO, AND WE

GET UP AND DO IT.

WE DON'T WAIT TO HAVE TO FEEL LIKE IT, OR TO THINK IT'S A GOOD

IDEA, OR TO HAVE A WHOLE BUNCH OF PEOPLE CLAPPING AND CHEERING

FOR US.

JUST BECAUSE MY GETUP AND GO HAS GOT UP AND GONE, THAT DOESN'T

MEAN THAT I HAVE TO LAY DOWN WITH IT.

I HAVE GREATER POWER THAN HOW I FEEL.

I CAN ACTUALLY SAY, "I AM GOING TO GET UP OFF OF THIS COUCH,

AND I AM GOING TO DO SOMETHING WITH MY LIFE."

GINGER: WELL, LIKE JOYCE SAYS, IT WILL TAKE DELIBERATE

EFFORT TO BEAT DEPRESSION.

AND WHEN YOU'RE BATTLING SOMETHING LIKE THIS, YOU DON'T

ALWAYS FEEL LIKE DOING THE WORK.

SO, HERE ARE SOME TEACHINGS TO GUIDE AND MOTIVATE YOU TO FIND

THAT FREEDOM THAT CHRIST WANTS FOR YOU SO DESPERATELY TO HAVE.

THIS IS JOYCE'S TEACHING CALLED "UNDERSTANDING

AND OVERCOMING DEPRESSION."

FOUR TEACHINGS ON CD, OR YOU CAN GET IT AS A DOWNLOAD, AND LET ME

TELL YOU ABOUT A COUPLE THINGS IN THIS BECAUSE I THINK YOU'RE

REALLY GOING TO LOVE IT.

IT TALKS ABOUT THE CERTAIN MYTHS AND MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT

DEPRESSION.

THOSE ARE IMPORTANT TO KNOW.

AND THEN IT ALSO HELPS YOU TO HAVE SEVERAL STRATEGIES THAT YOU

CAN USE TO OVERCOME IN ORDER TO KEEP YOURSELF FREE FROM

DEPRESSION.

IT'S FOR ANY AMOUNT BECAUSE IT'S SO VITAL THAT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND

WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO IN ALL OF OUR LIVES.

AND WE JUST BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL DO YOUR VERY BEST AS YOU'RE

GIVING TO RECEIVE THIS.

AND IF YOU CAN, GIVE A LITTLE EXTRA TO MAKE UP FOR SOMEONE

ELSE JUST TO MAKE SURE IT GETS IN EVERYONE'S HANDS WHO POSSIBLY

NEEDS IT.

WELL, I KNOW YOU HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS TOPIC,

SO IT'S TIME FOR YOUR VOICE.

[MUSIC]

GINGER: WE RECENTLY ASKED YOU TO SHARE STORIES OF PERSONAL

TRIUMPH THAT WOULD JUST HELP ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO NOT GIVE UP.

AND HERE'S A GREAT EXAMPLE OF SOME OF THE AMAZING STORIES THAT

WE RECEIVED.

THIS IS QUEENI FROM INDIA.

SHE SAYS, "I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CROHN'S DISEASE WHEN I WAS 18.

I WAS PURSUING MY FIRST YEAR STUDYING ENGINEERING AND WAS

ASKED TO DISCONTINUE BECAUSE DOCTORS THOUGHT I COULDN'T STUDY

AND TAKE CARE OF MY HEALTH.

I'M 25 NOW, AND I HAVE FINISHED MY MASTER'S IN ENGINEERING.

AS PHILIPPIANS 4:13 SAYS, 'I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST

WHO STRENGTHENS ME.' IT WAS BY HIS GRACE

I COULD FINISH MY STUDIES.

I TAKE 11 TABLETS A DAY, BUT THAT NEVER PULLS ME DOWN BECAUSE

I KNOW THAT GOD HAS SOMETHING BIG IN STORE FOR ME.

I THANK GOD FOR MAKING ME A TESTIMONY."

WELL, QUEENI, THANK YOU FOR SHARING THAT TESTIMONY.

AND ANYONE WATCHING RIGHT NOW, HE WANTS TO BE THERE FOR YOU IN

THE VERY SAME WAY.

HE IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS, WHICH MEANS HE DOESN'T LIFT

ANYONE UP OVER ANOTHER.

WHEN YOU DRAW NEAR TO HIM, HE DRAWS NEAR TO YOU.

SO, TODAY ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SHARE WITH US SOME OF THE PRACTICAL

STEPS THAT YOU HAVE PERHAPS TAKEN TO OVERCOME DEPRESSION.

YOU CAN REALLY HELP SOMEONE ELSE WHO MAY BE WALKING THROUGH

SOMETHING SIMILAR TO WHAT YOU'VE BEEN THROUGH, SO GO TO ANY OF

THOSE SOCIAL MEDIA AREAS, OUR JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES

FACEBOOK PAGE.

YOU CAN USE INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, USE #EA.

WELL, AS WE CLOSE TODAY, WE JUST PRAY THAT YOU

HAVE HEARD SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN GRAB ONTO.

DEPRESSION IS REAL.

WE KNOW THAT YOU MIGHT BE HURTING SO BADLY INSIDE, THAT

THERE IS HELP THAT YOU MAY NEED TO GET OUTSIDE OF YOURSELF.

BUT REMEMBER THAT GOD IS BIGGER THAN ANYTHING YOU ARE DEALING

WITH, AND HE CAN HELP YOU.

MY PRAYER IS ALWAYS THAT YOUR JOY IN CHRIST JESUS WILL

OVERFLOW.

AND YOU MAY NOT FEEL THAT TODAY, BUT KEEP TRYING, AND AS YOU GET

CLOSER AND CLOSER DAY BY DAY TO HIM, THAT JOY, THAT PEACE IN

YOUR LIFE WILL ALSO OVERFLOW.

AND REMEMBER, IT'S NOT YOUR JOY IN YOURSELF, IT'S NOT YOUR JOY

IN YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES, IT'S JOY IN HIM.

SO, KEEP DIGGING FOR THAT, DON'T GIVE UP.

[🇻🇳레이나in베트남🇻🇳] 스타일리스트의 ✨꿀템✨과 함께한 호이안 메이크업😉 - Duration: 16:03.

Hello! This is Raina! Right now, I'm in Hoi An

Today I'm going to do a Hoi An makeup, which was inspired by the Hoi An vibes

There's this girl next to me and we're going to do makeup together

This makeup video will be something like 'Get Ready With Me'

You should pop out now

You are just going to show up like that?

She has a lot of talents You have a makeup license, right?

I also have a hair styling license

She has a hair styling license and her job is a stylist but she can do many things

I'm thinking of getting a little help from her

I actually brought YSL foundation to use it, but I forgot to bring the cushion

and I'm too lazy to use that so I'll borrow her cushion foundation

- These days… - Okay so what are you using these days?

- NARS! - Oh NARS!

It's a sheer foundation with pretty good coverage

I've never used NARS before but I'll try

What is the name of this color?

It's NAMSAN

NAMSAN! I knew it would be NAMSAN

It's a little bright

but it really goes natural with the skin tone

It goes along?

When you apply, it feels naturally bright, not artificially

I look very shiny and this covers pretty well

Sheer but full coverage

I think this is good for those who have blemishes and freckles

This has good coverage even though it is a cushion

So this is the strength, what is the weakness?

The weakness actually depends on the skin type

For me, make up doesn't last long

My skin is not dry type but more like oily type with lack of moisture I like my first try though

It covers well and makes your face shiny

Ta-da~ NARS product you saw it in my previous video

People will think I'm getting paid from NARS

It's not an advertisement

No advertisement yet, everyone

No advertisement and no PPL, No PPL today too

Some asked me about this brush It's from Shu Uemura,

You can use it on your lip or eyelines but I use it as a concealer brush

I will use this to cover some little spots that needs to be covered

This is also another item I use often

MAKE UP FOR EVER

- It's your favorite - Yes, I use this a lot

Brushes!

I use the same thing~

Obviously, this is a nation-wide item!

Let's start with the eyebrows today

I have to introduce this for your eyebrows

Oh really?! What is it?

What is this?

This is for people who can't draw eyebrows at once

Just stamp it on your face and you'll get eyebrows instantly

and this lasts very long You always have to be careful when you stamp it

I've never seen this before, and it looks like this

This is for the left eyebrow?

Let's try this

When it comes out nice, this is very useful

but if it goes wrong, you need a cotton swab to fix it

What the?

Umm…

I'll just draw it by myself

I usually fill in the gaps on the start of my eyebrows first and then go to the end

I stamped it and fixed with a cotton swab

This part is stamped, and this is not

She looks fine, but what was wrong with mine?

What's the name of it?

DESSIN

I'll start my eye makeup

You saw this already, right?

I'll use these two colors that are slightly caved in

Now, I'm going to apply this under my eyes

This is the color

It looks good when you put it on the end of the waterline, like outer corners

Kind of looking feminine?

Something like this? So I put on like this first

This is the color

It's not a distinct brown color, but it's really good to cover waterlines

Next is the liquid eyeliner brush pen

I draw my eye-tail lower than it actually is

and just draw at the end

I'm using this brush a lot these days

It's called Picasso #777 brush

It looks like a round bullet, but it's in a small size

So it's really good for contouring outer corners and blending shadows

I'll be using these two colors at the end

Starting from the end of the eye-tail until the middle part of my pupil

Following the under eye, I'll put the remains in front of the eye

This is how you can make your under eye more puffy

In front of the eyes and also the end of the eyes

I kind of mix the eyeliner with this

You see this yellowish or orange-ish color right? I only use this one

I put this little on the under eye

It has little pearls, neither shiny nor glossy big pearls

It just spreads like a base

Like this

Next is

Use eyelash curler to curl my eyelashes

This is from SHISEIDO

I put this more on the end of the under eye It makes your eyes look bigger

I'm going to do the blusher first To see how it fits well

By doing the blusher, you can figure out how much color you need for your lips

and how much more eye shadow you need

I brought 3 products

This has a strawberry milk color

and it has a little pearl

This one is kind of toned down pink

and its color is not strong at all

So you can use it when you want to look soft or just use it in daily basis

I changed the case so it doesn't have the product number

Color is not strong at all, so you can use it as much as you want

If I use the brush downwards, I feel like I'm erasing the concealer

So I do it like I'm stamping a circle on my face

But in my makeup room, some people say as the time passes the blush slowly turns red

On top of that, I'm going to put this little more

I really enjoy putting a lot of blusher on my face

If you put a lot of blusher, you look more alive and vibrant

Today, I told you I'm doing Hoi An vibe makeup

I want to make my face shinier, so I brought another product with pearls

I usually don't use this

Before that, I would like you to use this first

This is an under eye pearl from TOM FORD, it was really hard to get this

It was sold out

but I got the last one

It's kind of moist cream type, the color is good, lasts long

and it doesn't melt down, so it's a good product

This is gold? Mine is silver with greenish glitter

That is opal pearl, and if you use the gold one as a base, I think it will look good on you

Okay, I'll try this one then

The color comes out strongly so you have to use only a little

This is very strong

The color comes out like this

It's this one

It's gold with pink pearl mixed

It kind of looks like you put velvet lip

Can you guys see it? It looks like this

This is my favorite item

Saying it's your favorite, I want to have it

If it's gone, it would be my fault

Continuing with the 3CE product

This one has a brush inside

The pearl looks like this, isn't it beautiful?

This one feels kind of like a liquid glue

So it stays fixed when it is dried

The texture of the pearl is very strong so it might be too much if you put a lot

so I put it with a brush, making dots under my eyes

The color is silver but it also has greenish pearl

To match with the under eye, I'll also put some on the upper eye too

Next is mascara

The same VDL mascara that I've used in my daily makeup video, and this is a mascara fixer

It makes soft and watery black lashes, not vivid black

so it's easy to apply neatly

Starting from the root, I stroke it upward as if I'm brushing

Also the under lashes

Before I finish my makeup, I always do this

This is also another NARS product

I feel like I'm promoting for NARS

As you can see, I've been using this a lot

What is this? It's very dirty

It's a blush and bronzer duo This glow makes your skin very clear

The colors are called the Hot Sand and Laguna

Let's see the color

People say my skin looks nice whenever I use this

Can you see it? It's very soft I can barely see it

- Is that a lip tint? - Yes it is

It is a coral color with a little fluorescent color mixed

Orange but mixed with a little bit of pink

When you put this on and layer with the others, its fluorescent color makes your face brighter

Isn't this a MAC lip lacquer?

Yeah, I gave a slight touch of it

Totally different color shows up when applied slightly or strongly

- This is so orange - So orange

This one shows off color really well

This is not reddish orange, but real orange

- Is this an eyeshadow? - Yes it is

So after you apply the base color, you can use this as a point

Aren't you applying too much?

Take a look, if it feels too much

Wow, it really doesn't show

On top of that, I will apply orange color a little

This one has a little pearl in it

WOW!

It turned into beige color with a bit of orange, right?

My eyes look somewhat deeper with more color on

Your eyes got more shades, see?

Yeah I can see more shades

Now, I will apply this

More shades are added

Last but not least, lip primer

I strongly recommend this

What is this?

You can buy in Olive Young It covers the lip wrinkles and everything

Really?

Yeah but it's not matt at all, more like moist and velvet-like texture

Fixer!

If you like glossy skin, you can use face mists instead

and if you don't like glossy skin like me

use this

How do I look guys? Ta-da~

And this is me just doing my own makeup

My face got shades and I gave a point look with red lip and little touch of pearl

Hoi An vibe makeup is a success!

I actually don't see where the Hoi An vibe is

Ta-da~

I changed my clothes

A vivid yellow dress with a bag I bought in Hoi An yesterday

And you?

Don't show my OOTD please

Yeah, you don't really look like you are abroad

Looks like you're in Seoul~

Ok, let's get out of here now

We're ready to go out, right?

Let's go

We have to get massage today

and go swimming pool but we haven't done so

We got so lazy, we came back to the hotel

I'm so sleepy~

I just feel like..

What should we do?

International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) | Learn English Pronunciation - Duration: 2:57.

Hi everyone.

I'm Lynn.

Thanks for watching my video.

Today, I'm going to be giving you some tips about English pronunciation.

We're going to be talking about the importance of the phonetic alphabet and why you should

know it.

So keep watching.

Many of my students want to improve their English pronunciation.

And I always tell them if you're really serious about improving English,

pronunciation you have to learn the phonetic alphabet.

Once you learn the phonetic alphabet, you will know every vowel and consonant sound

in English.

And you won't even need a native speaker teacher to tell you how to pronounce a certain word

because you'll already know when you see the word and you know the phonetic alphabet you'll

know exactly how to pronounce it.

And this will help you improve your English pronunciation a lot.

A lot of my students are kind of hesitant to learn the phonetic alphabet.

Maybe they think they have to be better at English first or there's a lot of reasons,

But I always tell them no learn the phonetic alphabet right away as soon as you can.

It's going to really help you a lot

especially if you're serious about improving your English pronunciation.

This is an essential tool, so go ahead and start learning it right now.

Let's take a look at an example.

How do you think you pronounce this word?

A lot of my students they would say this word is pronounced 'corpse'.

Makes sense, but no.

Actually there are some silent letters in this word.

This word is probably very difficult, but if you know the phonetic alphabet, you already

know that this word is pronounced 'cor'.

So you can see just from this example how important it is to learn the phonetic alphabet.

I'm gonna put some links below to help you

learn more about the phonetic alphabet

and be on your way to improving your English pronunciation.

So study hard.

See you next time.

Thanks for watching.

If you have any other useful ways to improve English pronunciation let me know in the comments.

Don't forget to like and subscribe to my channel.

See you in the next video.

Cakeboss Buddy Valastro im Interview mit Kuchenfee Lisa - TLC Cakebook im Interview - Kuchenfee AD - Duration: 25:37.

are we rolling?

yes, you can start.

we have 2 camera! cause one is not enough ;)

i got it, no problem

B: So, how long have you been doing the YouTube?

L: Wait, let me introduce myself!

so you understand a bit better why i am here today

so, i am a trained pastry chef

i've been a trained pastry chef for over 9 years

and for the last 4 years, i've been a blogger

and youtuber

and uuuuuhm... the last 1,5 years, .... stammering....

how do i say this... ive been self employed for the last 1,5 years

B: Nice, i like that.

So i am 26 years old and i think i made it pretty far by now, and i'm proud of that

my youtube career is based on my job

as a pastry chef, our trade

im very very proud to be a pastry chef

that what my heart beats for

its all i wanna do, every day

so, yes, thats all you have to know about me

B: Yes, and you are trying to that experience

to people at home, to inspire them

Kinda like me L: yes, kinda like you actually

the thing is that

when your first ever season aired,

i just got started with the baking

so i have watched your

stammering....

your show

in the evenings with my father on the couch

and we always had a very special time

and a couple of days ago, when i got the request to sit here with you

the first thing i did was screenshoted the Email

send it to my father and he was very proud of me

that was so special

B: thats amazing!

you know, its kind of like

you went into that, the way i became a baker

we didnt intentionally, you know..

you didnt know you would be a youtuber

and do what you are doing, the same way i didnt know

that i was gonna be on television! if you would've told me

15 years ago that you would be on television and be sitting in munich, doint an interview

i wouldve told you, you are crazy!

L: I know, i know!

but its about loving what you do

and taking that passion and how knows whats

where it could take you! L: yes, and thats what a lot of people tell me

when they see my videos. they can feel my passion and love

i have for my trade and how

B: so now i gotta watch them! are they translated in english?

L: i have been working on putting subtitles

on a lot of my videos

B: i just started doint a little bit of youtube aswell

i have a channel called Cakehouse

so i just started doing a little bit

L: When did you start? B: i started in january

L: what can we find on there? cause thats news to me!

B: so, if you go to cake house

thats the name of the channel, and

so you can find me, doing different little

cakes, or cookies, or pies

or pranks or fun things

L: So its a mix of fun

B: my wife does a lot of cooking, my kids do

L: thats a question i have later!

i think we start with very easy questions

so nothing to special but yea..

i asked my community is there anything the would like to know about you

and uhm... one of the first questions was

so, you have 21 bakerys, right? correct me if im wrong!

B: 22, but how is counting? ;)

all over the US, one in brazil, why brazil?

uhm.. well, you know

cakeboss is aired in i think

over 200 countrys and territorys, all over the world

and brazil was a marked

where cakeboss is huge

you know, like really really big

so i've done some other filming in brazil

for their like national televison

and uhm... as part of

the winner, they got to work in my bakery

and i wanted to open a bakery

i am to the point now,

where i really wanna open bakerys, all over the world

L: that would be perfect because the actuall question was

when can we expect one in germany?

because everyone was asking: WHEN IS HE COMING TO GERMANY????

so, are there any plans?

B: i definitely would love to

thats part of why im here!

L: oh is it? :) interesting!

B: im here because of the convention called IBA

L: yes yes! ill go there tomorow!

B: yes, i came here for that convention

and thats because i've been looking into some of the manufacturing equipment

and trying to align with some partners

L: so you have all the german maschines and stuff?

B: i have a lot of german maschines,

i mean, listen! the German and italien Maschines for the equiptment

they make the best!

When you get a german maschine, or an italien equipment

L: its gonna last!

B: i am not just saying that because i sit here

its the most important amazing show

and i've been to shows all over the world

because they have the biggest and the craziest

equipment that you have ever seen

imagen me, like a kid in a candy store

L: i know, thats what i feel like, im so excited to go tomorow

B: your gonna have a blast, wear comfortable shoes, cause its big

L: so, one popular question i got a lot was

well...

i hope this is not rude to ask but

most expensive cake?

beside the 30 milion dollar one

with the rubys and diamonds

anything you can share`?

B: i made a cake for someone

that was, i cant say how

but we've sold some

200.000 Dollar

L: is it with real gold or what?

B: i cant tell you

i mean, it depends on how big and stuff like that

look, people thing about it but sometimes

some of the cakes that you see on cake boss

if there is pyro - techniks

sometimes the pyro technics alone

they cost me 10.000 or 20.000 dollar

just for that! so than you have to add in the

cake,

the structure

you know, what ever it is

its almost like building a mini house! L: wow, i never though about that! good to know

i'm excited about this next question

cannolis are your best seller, right?

B: they are! L: i never had one before, what can i expect?

B: ok, i'll paint you a picture

a cannoli is a cinnamon flavoured

dough, and we fry it

and so its crispy

and its got a little hint of cinnamon, and we actually use vinegar,

inside the dough

which gives it a little bit of acidity, so its got a little bit to it

but then its filled with the most creamy,

dreamy,

ricotta

with chocolate chips

the perfect balance, where its not to many chips that its too chocolaty

but its all about that cream

and then when you get the crisp in there

its just ration of cream

to shell should be 2:1

L: so its crispy, but creamy

B: crunchy

L: a little bit cinnamon, chocolaty,

B: and we put a little bit of cinnamon oil

in the cannoli cream

but just a tiny bit, because its strong

L: well, im excited to try those one day

B: well the cannoli is definetly worth trying but

if i had to give you my favourite, it would be the lobster tail

L: why is that? because i never had that one either

B: so a lobster tail is not puff pastry

its basically

its really really tight dough

its only got 30% humidity in it

and we put

fat on the dough and roll it up into a spiral

so it becomes a log, and then we open them

and fill it with pâte à choux

so that it expands and its holow

and so its this crispy layers that are

buttery and flaky and we cream fill them

and you take a bite of that and its crispy, creamy

think of like...

think of a cream puff

but then wrap it in like real buttery, flaky dough

L: i think i would prefer that over the cannoli

B: listen, cannoli are good but

im not saying they are not good , but

if im going to tell you to try what to eat, i would say the lobster tail

ok... stammering... lets skip some boring questions...

here we go, its a bit of a deeper one,

after all these years, do you still enjoy being a pastry chef and if so, why?

what do you like most about it?

whats the special thing you always look forward to?

B: well, thats a great question!

you know, because of the fact that i am on television

and im very succesfull

L: definitively!

B: every day

at 6.30 in the morning i am at work

i am at that factory, i'm on that line

and i'm working with those guys

L: so you do still work at the factory? B: every day!

B: everyday, every morning, you'd be shocked!

L: yes, i am shocked! B: people comment

and are like: do you still work??

L: thats one of my questions! how much does he really work as a pastry chef

B: you would be shocked.

Well, again, thats part of the reason why i am here

for the show, for the convention IBA

because i know the equipment, i know the stuff we do

and when i dont do it

i dont feel fullfilled L: Got it!

B: Sometimes, my wife

will tell me , because i travel and i this and this

and she is like

you gotta go make a cake, you're one the edge,

or my assistant will tell me

and i go in the back, and i work

no matter what my problems are

or whats going on in my life

when i make a cake

i forget about it, my mind goes

goes into that and its an escape for me

its like the most calming, its almost like getting a massage

L: its like that for me too

B: its like a mental massage in my head

L: yes, that fits perfectly

B: you forget about whats going on

L: Yes, thats what i do too! when im stressed, i have no time

the first thing i do is

"i gotta make time for some baking"

to destress, decompose

and then i have to eat

listen

thats the good part too

ok, next question.

B: i have to be on top of my game you know

L: Well, you have so much stuff to do

thats also the next question basically,

as fun and nice as it might be to have a cake empire like you do

it requires a lot of work and time, do you still AH, no,

its a different question, but still a good one

do you miss having your small little bakery in hoboken, the small on with the narrow stairs

B: i do, sometimes i do

L: because when i watched your show, the first seasons

i dont know... theres something special about when i watch it back

because it feels so homey, like ive been there before

B: 100%

theres something about that

original bakery L: because of your parents aswell, its so special

B: that place

made me who i am

and sometimes, with everything , and sometimes when things get

to crazy or too big

i am like "i wish i was here, just making cakes" doing my old spiel

it was what it was

sometime you know what, i tell my wife

you never know, one day, thats what might happen

you never know what tomorow might bring

no matter what , i love to make cakes

i love to be a baker

and i can always do it L: i feel the same way

i think that even if my youtube channel would crash

and i could work as a blogger anymore

i can stil make cakes and that will always be my Plan B

B: same here

L: its my passion, its what i love to do, and if i had to choose

i would always take baking cakes over social media

B: 100% L: cause its for my heart

L: money is not my motivation

B: No, its totally not!

the thing is, i'm in a situation where

things started to come with the show

and everything else with expansion

i had to make a decision on

do i stay where i am or do i grow up

and i made the decision to grow

not only for me but for my kids and my family

my nieces, my nephew

and the next generation of family who wants to come in

i kinda made that leap in trying to be the pioner

to set this Business up for everyone

L: which must be scary

B: which is very scary

L: my step into self employment, i was like "Jesus, ... this better works out"

B: yes, its crazy

L: Next Question, imagen your father didnt buy carlos bakery

back then, what was your life plan

is there anything you planed

B: Well, the thing is, i always planed on

being a baker, because my dad was one

L: What about your kids?

B: the thing was, my dad was my hero

and he was a baker, and i looked up to him

and i wanted to be like him and i started working when i was 11

so i didnt really think much about

other carrers or what ever and i gotta be honest

my dad had a great Business , we made good money, we lived in a nice house

we had good things

we went on vacation

it just made sense to do it

it wasnt a struggeling business

that you had to get out of

it was more like "Embrace it and go with it"

stammering

L: isnt it kind of italian to follow your fathers footsteps

B: it is but my dad

never made me , he never said "Hey look

L: you had a choice? B: Yes

B: he said to me

you have to learn to work, you have to know what its like to be a man

to have obligations and get up and go work

and he said that if

it is that you wether in a bakery

doctors office, layer , whatever you wanna be

but when i went there and i started to work

i really enjoyed it

he never told me i had to

B: it came from me L: so you had the choice

B: when i did it, i was good at it, my dad had a good business

and then i got that feeling of self worth

that feeling of WOW , you made something

and you put your heart in it

and you step back and look what you created

and its WOW and then the guest see it

or who ever you made it for and they say wow

and then they it it and it tastes good they go WOWWOW

its that whole reason of why i became a baker

and i was around 15 years old

and you know what? after all those years

and all these cakes, when i make a crazy cake

i step back and get that feeling of a little kid like "YEA! look what i did!"

and its been a lot of cakes and a lot of years

but i stil get that feeling

so i know i have my dream job

L: i am asking because my father

my family is kind of similar to yours

the only difference is

that my father had over 100 hair salons

in all of germany and i have a twin sister

and she is the one that is following my fathers footsteps

and my grandfather footsteps aswell

and sometimes i feel like, hm.. did i make the right choice

but i love my job so much so i dont mind

but i feel like, maybe its a burden for her

B: because she has to do everything herself

Well again, if its not in your heart

if it feels like work

if you go to work and it feels like work

you are never gonna excel

yes, thats true. so i made the right choice :)

so, we have to wrap the up unfortunately

even though i'm not done with my questions

B: come on, lets hear them L: no, we dont have enough time

B: One more? L: one more!

L: ok, easy question! 10 Seasons of cakeboss, is there more to come?

B: i hope so!

L: so maybe we can expect something special soon

B: Yes, i have new show coming out, bake it like buddy

which is gonna come out soon

L: here in germany? B: yes, its gonna come out in germany

L: i think i saw some of it online already

B: Promos? I dont know if it aired yet. Do we know if it aired already?

B: not yet! *Listening to the management!*

B: so we'll have that on soon

L: ok, well that sounds perfect

i think we have to wrap this up, no more time left for me

thank you so much for you time B: It was an absolut pleasure

B: Thank you! L: oh a Hug! nice, i take that

L: Lets finish this interview quick!

The Science Nobel Prizes Explained in 3 Minutes - Duration: 3:49.

The Nobel Prize committee gives awards to those who provide - "the Greatest Benefit

to Mankind" and a handful of dedicated scientists make the cut every year.

This year's winners tinkered with evolution in the lab, developed therapeutics that fight

cancer and created lasers so powerful that they can peek inside an atom.

They're investigating science at the micron level, and their groundbreaking discoveries

are completely changing the way we look at our own world.

There are three major science categories for the Nobel Prizes*; medicine, chemistry, and

physics.

And the Nobel Prize in medicine was awarded for breakthroughs in immunotherapy.

James Allison and Tasuku Honjo developed research that led to the rise of new immunotherapy

drugs.

See, our immune system has specialized cells, called t-cells, that attack any foreign invaders,

like viruses or bacteria.

Think of them like your system's bodyguard, they're looking out for any enemies in your

midst.

But that's the thing with cancer, your own cells are the enemy,so the t-cells don't

know to fight them off.

So Allison and Honjo found a way to tweak the t-cells by blocking two specific receptors;

CTLA-4 and PD-1.

This helped activate the immune system to go after cancer cells.

Human trials started in the 2010's and they've been effective against a whole host of cancers.

Next up, Chemistry.

Frances Arnold, George Smith, and Sir Gregory Winter split the Nobel Prize for their respective

work on directing evolution of enzymes and antibodies.

You see, enzymes are the workhorse of the cell.

They're biomolecules with distinct jobs that help us live, like synthesizing our nutrients

into energy.

Arnold's research used enzymes' natural ability to adapt and mutate, and she mutated

them to the point where they would perform even better than nature intended.

This was used by other scientists for years and goes beyond medicinal practices.

For instance, she converted sugars to alcohol for biofuels, which could help pave the path

for fewer fuel emissions.

Smith discovered something called phage display, a method of hacking bacteriophages, which

are viruses that infect bacteria, to create new proteins.

And then Winter used this technique to direct the evolution of antibodies, leading to new

therapies to treat diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

And finally Physics, let's roll in the lasers.

This prize was split among Arthur Ashkin who developed "optical tweezers" and Gérard

Mourou and Donna Strickland who won "for their method of generating high-intensity,

ultra-short optical pulses."

Ashkin's "optical tweezers" started off with the idea that focused laser beams

have concentrated photons in the center and, by placing two beams near each other, they

can create a "radiative" pressure on small objects.

This causes objects to be trapped between two lasers like a tractor beam out of movie.

This is useful for scientists who want to trap tiny things, like cells and atoms.

Now Strickland and Morou creating controllable, ultra-sharp laser beams.

Back in the 1980's, instruments weren't equipped to handle super powerful lasers yet,

but Strickland and Morou found that if they stretched out the laser pulses, it would reduce

its peak power enough.

The laser then could be compressed into the ultrashort high-intensity pulses they wanted,

allowing us to look inside individual atoms!

This laser tool is used for semiconductors, medical stents, and in corrective eye surgeries.

So there are immeasurable applications to what these nobel winners have created.

Each one of them has made a technique or tool that's revised our view of the microscopic

world that we're only still learning about.

They've laid important foundations in science that are only extending our frontiers of knowledge

about the bigger world around us.

Like science in your day?

Go ahead and subscribe.

And if groundbreaking science to benefit mankind is too vague of a standard for you, check

out this detailed video on what else you need to win a Nobel Prize.

Although Nobel Prizes have been awarded for to 923 people, only 48 of them have been women

and Donna Strickland marks the 3rd woman ever to win a Nobel Prize in Physics.

You go Donna.

UNDERTALE: A Flowery Interlude - Duration: 4:41.

Oh, child....

Why did you have to go? Why did I let you?

TORIEL: WHAT IN THE--??

FLOWEY: Maybe because... you're a terrible mother?

TORIEL: Oh, it is YOU. Why am I not surprised you continue to be horrid?

FLOWEY: Ohhhhh, that's RICH, coming from you!

You really slapped that kid around, didn'tcha?.

TORIEL: I was trying to SAVE them from...

...creatures like YOU.

FLOWEY: And yet, you FAILED.

Seriously, if I wasn't interested to see how far the kid would take things, they'd already be dead!

I had a REAAAAAAALLY good chance to make that happen, too - right after you turned your back on 'em!

TORIEL: Hmmph!

And yet, you did not. For all of your bluster, you are, after all, just a flower.

FLOWEY: Like YOU'RE just a GOAT!

A goat who can't protect anyone!

TORIEL: I have protected these ruins, and while the human was in my care, they were protected as well.

But I cannot force protection on a child so determined, now can I?

As much as I would lock the dear child away for their own good, I would only make the child resent me....

FLOWEY: You're no fun, Lady.

God, you're so depressing, you're hurting MY feelings!

TORIEL: Oh? Well, you could always put the PETAL to the metal and LEAF, could you not?

FLOWEY: UghhhHHHH, SERIOUSLY?

TORIEL: Otherwise, you could always STAMEN for a while and chat with me!

FLOWEY: Are....are you ACTUALLY joking with me?

TORIEL: I figure you must BEE lonely to come bother me like this!

If I felt otherwise, I would simply tell you to BUZZ OFF.

FLOWEY: Ughhhh, I think I feel my roots withering at how bad these are!

TORIEL: Oh?

Are you saying you are ROOTED to the spot by my wit?

I cannot BE-LEAF you are so susceptible!

FLOWEY: You really have nothing better to do with your time than to come up with stupid puns do you?

Golly!

That's really sad. I almost feel bad for you!

TORIEL: I'm sure I'll run out of jokes in a LILY bit, but IRIS sure you don't want more?

FLOWEY: Oh my god.

Has nearly setting fire to the kid finally pushed you over the deep end???

TORIEL: I am just DANDELION my dear, but you seem to be a little PISTIL with me!

Have I touched a raw HERB with you?

FLOWEY: You're stretching, now.

TORIEL: And you must not be as heartless as you try to appear to be, to smile like that at all of my jokes

FLOWEY: I--!! I... I'm not....!

You don't---!!

I'M! NOT! LAUGHING!!!

TORIEL: Of COURSE not, dear.

(inarticulate rage)

FLOWEY: YOUR JOKES ARE IDIOTIC!!!

I bet you drove that kid out by being SO FREAKING INANE!!

THAT DOES IT! I'm out of here!

ENJOY your LONELY LITTLE HOVEL!!

HMMMMPH!!!

Wherever you go child, please... be SAFE....

Surely he opened the door, came out and called me back

And teach me magics

Well, and this great section

If it is you, you will drop it down?

But me, i drink it
