Three things that were positive for you back in high school

Was there any positive outlook did any other classmates give you like?

an appreciation like saying to you like like you have a good voice or you have that was good music or

Meaning a job mean means that you want to earn your own, you know, earn your own pocket money

really gotta got me he's like when a week is that you said you literally said

I was I will shed a tear when we have eSports at the Olympics yeah really

gonna happen man I think it is man I think it is like I personally think that

eSports is going to become the most popular game or the most popular sport

in the world I mean you look at traditional sport numbers and kind of

how that they're on the decline already and their rapid growth of eSports and

you just look at eSports fans and you look at the players in the community and

everything that's building the entire ecosystem built around the sport and

there's just an incredible amount of momentum and I think it's gonna really

culminate when we see it at the Olympics I mean we've been doing this a really

long time as you said you know and I remember being one of four guys that I

could find in my high school that played computer games that we could relate to

and we were like the minority we were the exception you know we were the Nerds

yeah and not all time all true honestly not that proud of it we were almost a

little bit ashamed of it it was a little embarrassing I know I used to tell

people I had to go play D&D that's how bad it was and I'm not playing computer

games I gotta go for your D&D man but how games are cool I mean it's hard to

find kids not talking about fortnight or pub G or some other and the parents are

kind of like what is this fortnight thing and you know as a parent on Mike

having conversations with them and I'm like their therapist when it comes to

this kind of stuff I'm like it'll be okay don't worry about it games are

actually educational and they're learning team-based aspects and all

these things and economies and strategy and all this and I just think if we make

it to the Olympics and you know growing up as somebody who saw the Olympics and

saw these incredible athletes that were kind of superhuman in a lot of ways for

eSports to be legitimized in in an Olympic stage something that's so

global something that really legitimizes a sport in my opinion I think that's

gonna be like an incredible moment in our history so alright let me ask you

this then so eSports at the Olympics more important less important then

what's that thing with a broom Oh curling curling currently is it gonna be

higher higher no I don't I mean you'll never watch me or have me watching a

curling match or anything even though they're called matches I don't know much

about this but whenever it's on during the Olympics there's something that just

captures me and I sit there and I just stare at them it's maybe it's cuz I

don't understand the whole thing okay okay it's a pretty cool sport

synchronized swimming that's pretty cool too that's pretty cool I'm not blowing

smoke up your behind I mean these things and to me it's like the ability of the

athlete is what I'm like the most impressed with and kind of the same

thing with eSports like whenever I try and I do like a little exhibition match

against an eSports athlete or something the way in which they spank me

it's like remarkable you know nothing I'm a great gamer and I think that it is

an honor to be heavier ass-kicker pro but it's it's like the way how quickly

they do it and how effectively they do and how efficiently and it's what I

think I see in some of these athletes and whatever sport that they're doing

it's like they're superheroes they're like superhuman people right and that's

what I think I appreciate the most and I just can't wait to see our like entire

industry potentially on that stage I think that's gonna be amazing for us so

parents Frank azor is here to tell you it's okay and for my 13 year old eleven

year old if they start saying I gotta practice for Olympics dad got a place

more games what do I say I mean do I say yes yeah of course look anything with

moderation you know I'm gay nice there's got to be some moderation whatever

you're gonna do you got to go to school you got to have a back-up plan you may

not make it to becoming a professional eSports athlete you can't put all your

eggs in that basket that's for sure sure but look it's a little bit of a scary

world out there honestly I gotta tell you I kind of prefer my

kids to be at home where I can see them what I can see what they're doing on

their computer right then running around the streets of Miami which I'll tell you

is where I live and it's a little bit of a scary place you know I

rather than play with their friends in an open setting versus potentially doing

other things on the internet that are maybe more questionable yeah so gaming

it's not just good for I think our kids but I think as parents it gives us some

assurance that look they're into something they're into something that is

productive they're learning certain skills let's make sure they get their

education and their homework and everything done and good and out of the

way and let this be a reward for them to do the right things cool

I can't wait because one day I was looking like a father yeah Frank one day

you're gonna be like you're gonna be doing the live cast at the Olympics for

yellowjacket a future career will be a consultant for parents of gamers maybe

Why are we Superstitious? - Random Thought - Duration: 4:27.

superstitions where do they come from why do we still believe them that's what

we're going to talk about in today's video welcome to random thoughts and

rants where I am de-polarizing the world by opening minds if that sounds like

something you'd like to follow go ahead [inaudible] go ahead and hit that

subscribe button and the notification bell but let's just talk about

superstitions everybody has them what about the black cat a black cat crosses

your path and then you have bad luck or is it a good luck? hmm who knows find a

penny pick it up and all day you have good luck okay what about walking under

a ladder, where do all of these come from did you know that for the black cat

there's a whole lot of different versions of it I'm gonna leave a bunch

of links in the description below for all of the different things I mentioned

plus a lot more for example a broken mirror you get

seven years bad luck but where does that come from it comes from a history that

[uhhh] dates before mirrors when you could see a reflection in the water and

they believed that it was the soul that you could see and so when mirrors came

out they felt that they had magical powers and that you don't want to

disturb the soul so if you break it the soul will be disturbed and you

will have bad luck for seven years I don't know where the seven years comes

from what about ladders against a wall well that comes from Egyptian times

where as you know Egyptians love their triangles triangle would symbolize the

Trinity of the gods so if you walked through a triangle you are then

disgracing the gods the number thirteen why is the number thirteen so bad luck

that goes back to Norse history and talking about the number thirteen it is

such a big superstition there are hotels and other buildings that refuse to label

the thirteenth floor the thirteen they just skip it and go to the fourteenth

because of that superstition and you can check that out and come link below where

it has all these different ones where they originate and why do we still

believe these things if you have a rational mind there's no reason to

believe in these superstitions because they're not real but are they? I want to

know because I still think about the Itchy palm

in fact I learned something doing a little research for this video one palm

itches its money's going out I believe it's the left hand again link in the

description and if the right palm itches you'll be getting money and it says in

order to solve the bad problem of the left palm itching you rub it on wood

well of course we rub it on wood or something because it itches and then

that brings you knock on wood you know hope everything goes well where does

that come from all of these things but why do we still believe in them? I like

the itchy palm one I hope my palms get really itchy because I could use a

little extra cash and I whenever my palm itches I buy a lottery ticket and you

can check that video out right there about lottery tickets why is the black

cat such a big deal and of course with Halloween coming around black cats are a

big deal would somebody tell me why in the comments below like black cats are

such a big deal for Halloween is it just because witches had black cats or is

because I think and this is total conjecture no clue didn't do the

research I think it has to do with something about witches becoming black

cats and you because as bla bla bla magic stuff oh and we're gonna talk

about magic stuff in the next video and every country has their own

interpretation and their own superstitions some countries have

different lucky numbers and unlucky numbers and you know then the US and

apparently Norse 13 is an unlucky number but one of the unlucky numbers for you

guys have you had any kind of superstition like let's say you had a

black cat or you broke a mirror or whatever and then that [ugh] then you had

bad luck for seven years or something bad happen to you or what about an itchy

palm did you get a bunch of money or lose a bunch of money depending what

about a found penny did you pick it up did you have good luck I would love to

know in the comments below and like I said the next video is gonna be about

been waiting to do this challenge for

ever! I'm going for overall win number

583 I am in Amarillo, Texas on that the

Big Texan Steak Ranch and Brewery I'm

taking on their very famous 72-ounce

Steak Challenge! Over 60,000 people have

tried this thing, over 9,000 people have

won and that is about how many times

I've been asked whether or not I've

taken this challenge! Tonight I'll

finally be able to tell those people, yes!

I've got one hour to finish the 72-ounce

steak along with a side salad, roll,

a baked potato, and then there are three

fried or cocktail shrimp I've got one

hour!

It was $72 but if I win I will get the

$72 steak meal for free, I'll get a sweet

t-shirt, and I'll be part of the elite

group founded up on the wall of fame!

Cannot wait to dominate this thing let's

Distinguished Alumni 2018: Dick Shaw - Duration: 3:12.

I go by Dick Shaw I graduated from the first program in 1963 what the the

program was then called refrigeration heating air conditioning when I started

this was Ferris Institute and I was the first class the end of the summer of 63

of which we were State College went to work for Kelvinator in Grand Rapids and

Manitowoc Wisconsin where commercial division was in the quality area after a

year of that stint Uncle Sam said he would like to have me join him so I went

in the Army for two years and when I get when I was discharged I came back to

Kelvinator and I worked there until 69 and came back to Ferris to utilize my GI

Bill and get a bachelor's degree in trade technical teaching the complete of

that in the end of 70 they were in need of some faculty and they asked if I

would be interested in in coming on as a faculty and I I wasn't sure I wanted to

do that I wanted my intention was go back to industrial training but but I

did and I and I just loved it I just so it it took him 27 years after that point

to to get me out of here retired in 98 I was successfully and

fully retired for six months before I was 100 a nerd with the air-condition

contractor's of America who we had partnered with for years with the

program I still work for them I don't do much I started the standards program and

ran the standards as the Sanders manager for a number of years but now I just do

some technical writing and things while that during that period or in that

period I was elected to the Faris Foundation Board in 2007 I believe and

that's been very very uplifting and fun you know with the philanthropy work and

and using my context to bring in money and and with endowments and so forth so

that's kind of where we're at what's it like to be a bulldog about the first

thing I think it was pride Bulldog pride you run into former students or students

or alumni and they'll you know say hey go Bulldogs I am incredibly humbled and

incredibly honored it's a first person I never thought I would be a distinguished

alumnus these these are all just outstanding individuals that have done

so well and they're in our in our industry and and it's it's it's pretty

honorable to you know to be a part of that group so I'm you know I'm very

pleased and very excited and humbled
