Indian state will pay farmers to go 100% organic and GMO free - health - Duration: 4:43.
Indian state will pay farmers to go 100% organic and GMO-free
Is India on its way to becoming an entirely organic nation?
Just over two years ago, in September 2014, the Indian Government launched their revolutionary
Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (National Agriculture Development Program) as a way to encourage
organic farming, and decrease dependence on chemical agents.
In January 2015, the state of Sikkim was declared as the countrys first 100 percent organic
state.
Sikkim produces 800,000 tons of organic produce thats free of harmful pesticides, chemical
fertilizers and toxic GMOs accounting for roughly 65 percent of Indias total
organic produce yields.
The western Indian state of Rajasthan launched plans for dedicating thousands of hectares
of land for the farming of organic pulses just a few months later.
Their effort seeks to combat the rampant protein malnutrition, and the unsustainable practice
of chemical fertilizer-based farming.
Another western Indian state now also seeks to join in.
Goa has also recently announced that they will be looking to reduce the use of chemical
fertilizers and pesticides, and is also seeking to go 100 percent organic.
The State Department of Agriculture has launched a state sector plan titled, Assistance
for use of organic inputs by the farmer.
Ulhas Pai Kakode, Director of Agriculture, commented, This is the first step we have
taken in the direction of organic farming in the state.
Hopefully, more and more farmers should adopt the practice of organic farming after availing
this scheme.
Under this new plan, farmers can receive significant assistance from the government when it comes
to obtaining organic agricultural inputs, such as organic fertilizers and bio-pesticides.
Up to 50 percent of the tab will picked up by the state government, but there will be
some limitations.
AnonHQ explains that these benefits will be limited to 10,000 Indian Rupees (INR) per
hectare with a maximum of up to two hectares , or INR 20,000 per beneficiary for all categories
of farmers on the use of organic inputs.
Farmers with plots as small as 0.1 hectare will be considered eligible for the program
which will also help to keep the tradition of small-scale ingidenous farming alive and
well.
Organic farming is nothing new; its a tradition that has sadly been overtaken by overzealous
coroporations.
In India, organic farming has been practiced since ancient times and once ensured quality
food for consumers.
The recent resurgence of organic farming in India, however, is largely due to the increasing
demand for organic products in Western nations.
The organic food and fiber market is growing at an incredibly rapid pace, with some estimates
suggesting that the market is expanding by up to 25 to 30 percent.
A study by ASSOCHAM, which stands for The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry
of India, suggests that the organic food market in India will reach $1.36 billion by the year
2020.
The study also suggested that organic farming efforts short focus largely on pulses and
grains.
The exponential growth of the organic market has even led food manufacturers in the United
States to pay their farmers to make the switch to organic practices.
In the US alone, sales in organic marketplace expanded by about 11 percent reaching
a whopping $43.3 billion last year equalling about four times the growth in sales of food
products, overall.
Organic farming in India is also expected to continue to grow, especially as the government
continues to financially support organic farming endeavors.
Increased awareness and availability of organic foods has also greatly contributed to the
sucess of organic food.
Additionally, the rise in health consciousness and healthier lifestyle changes have also
played a significant role in the growth and demand of organic foods.

HOW I LOST 45LBS! - Duration: 14:56.
- Hey everyone!
It's your girl, LaToya Forever.
And in today's video, I'm gonna share with you
how I was able to lose 45 pounds
after having two babies.
Yeah, y'all didn't know this.
(shouting)
Two babies came out of the body, y'all!
(laughs)
Anyways, let's jump right into the video.
- [Narrator] Hey!
- So, I have two babies.
Samia is my first born, and she's two-and-a-half years old.
And then my second born is Zayn, and he's one-years-old.
Yes y'all, back-to-back pregnancies,
okay?
I have a toddler and a baby.
Hard times out here! (exhales)
(laughs)
I'm so corny, you guys.
Anyways, after I had Zayn you guys,
I just didn't have energy, I was super insecure,
every time I looked in the mirror I just didn't...
I had no confidence in myself, I was overweight,
I gained 45 pounds, you guys.
Before my babies, I was 115 pounds,
and after my babies, I was 160 pounds.
And I just did not look and feel like myself, you know?
I just felt heavy walkin' around this place.
(shouts)
Like a bear! (laughs)
So I wanna tell you guys what I did to lose the weight.
Because a lot of people out there have been asking me,
"LaToya, what did you do to lose all that weight?
You're super toned now."
And this video is just to spill and share
all of my secrets with the world.
Because I want all a y'all to lose weight,
and look good, and feel secure and confident in your body.
I know, y'all.
I love you.
I gotchu!
I told you, we're in this together.
Okay?
You know, after I had Zayn, I was doing all these detoxes,
putting on a waist trainer, walkin' up and down the stairs,
doing the little wrap, the cooling wraps,
all these different gels, drinking teas,
I was doin' everything.
But nothing is better than what you eat,
what you're putting into your body,
and working out.
That's the most important thing.
I was tryna skip that step.
Because you know, your girl loves her fried chicken,
and fries, and all that junk
that you really shouldn't be eating
because it gives you love handles.
Anyways, I'm gonna walk you through
a typical LaToya Forever day.
A healthy day in LaToya Forever's life.
Okay?
So let's start off with breakfast.
So before breakfast, I drink two glasses of water.
Well,
water is empty now cause I drank two glasses.
I try to drink as much water as I can throughout the day.
Y'all, I be goin' to the bathroom
at least four, five times an hour, okay?
I'm always runnin' to the bathroom!
So I usually try to drink
six to eight glasses of water a day,
I don't drink anything else.
Okay I shouldn't say I don't drink anything else,
because I drink tea and coffee.
But I stay away from that soda pop
and all that garbage, okay?
That you shouldn't be drinkin' if you tryna lose weight!
Drinking water hydrates the skin,
I notice a huge change in my skin.
Especially if your skin is acne-prone, drink more water.
I usually break out around my cycle,
when it's that time of the month.
But I notice that I break out less
when I'm drinking more water, when I'm staying hydrated.
And drinking water gives me so much more energy.
That's why I have this stolen energy,
you know what I'm sayin'?
I'm just like the Energizer Bunny all the time! (laughs)
After I drink my two glasses of water, I work out.
I know y'all see me on Snapchat just flexin',
and working out, and doin' my push-ups and stuff. (laughs)
I work out five times a week, for about 20 minutes.
Not bad, right?
And all my workouts are from home.
I don't go to the gym.
I hate when people look at me and see me sweat.
And when I go to the gym, I'm super competitive.
I'll run up beside a chick on the treadmill,
and I'll try to go faster than her.
I be competin' with everybody in the gym!
They don't know that we're competing,
but believe me, we are competing in my brain.
(laughs)
Let me take you through a full-body, fat burning routine
that I do in the comfort of my own home.
So, I'll do 15 squats.
(shouts)
Seven burpees.
(shouts)
(laughs)
15 jumping jacks.
(shouts)
Five push-ups, 20 mountain climbers,
and a 30 second plank hold.
And I will repeat this for three sets, you guys.
And if you really wanna sweat all that fat outta your body,
wear a sweater, okay?
So wear some leggings, and wear a sweater,
and then you just kill it!
Kill that workout routine!
Yes, so that's a routine that I love to do
when I wanna sweat my booty off.
I also have more routines in the description box below
that you guys can follow.
I started a 30-day program
for people who wanna tone up and lose weight.
I have all of my workout routines,
I have a nutritional guideline for you to follow,
motivational tips, and most importantly, my support.
Because we are in this together.
It's better to work out when you know that
someone's working out with you,
and you guys are motivating and supporting each other.
So I created ShesTough, y'all.
So we can work out and tone up together!
So after I work out, I eat.
Because I be hungry, okay?
I woke up, drank water, worked out,
now your girl is starvin'.
My belly growlin', all right?
So if you follow me on Snapchat,
you know that all I eat are eggs, bacon,
and a slice of bread for breakfast.
I'll have a whole egg and two egg whites,
and then I'll have two slices of halal, chicken bacon,
with a slice of whole wheat bread,
or a slice of a whole wheat bagel.
That's all I eat for breakfast.
And I'll have my little coffee and what not
to get some energy.
Bacon into the ketchup, and then you just crunch,
it's delicious, okay? (laughs)
Anyways, other healthy options are
a protein shake with fruit, or oatmeal and fruit,
or a yogurt parfait with fruit.
I'm not really a fruit lover.
I'll have a one, two apple or,
what is this thingy called right here?
Oh, a papaya, I like papayas,
sometimes a banana in the morning.
Just depends on how I feel.
But I cannot skip the bacon and eggs, all right?
Now between breakfast and lunch,
your girl has to have a snack.
So Adam purchased these chickpeas,
crunchy snack packs from the health food store.
You can also purchase them online.
They're delicious, they have different flavors.
The barbecue kind are my favorite!
I love them, I'm always munching on them when I get hungry.
I also like eating nuts, or I'll have Greek yogurt.
Now nuts, they're very high in protein,
which removes the urge to want sugary things all the time.
So when you have a craving for ice cream, or a popsicle,
or I don't know, whatever sugary thing
is out there in the world, eat a nut.
And I guarantee, you'll forget about it.
(laughs)
Eat a nut. (laughs)
Sorry, just envisioned a nut.
Anyway. (laughs)
Now if you're tryin' to lose weight,
stay away from the carbs.
Stay away from the rice, the pasta, the bread, the bagels.
Stay away, avoid those items!
Especially if you are tryin' to lose your weight!
For lunch, I'll have a protein,
chicken, beef, salmon.
And then I will pair that item
with a kale salad, or a salad.
Any kind of salad.
And I toss the carbs to the side,
I do not eat the carbs for lunch.
When I was tryna lose weight, no.
I said no to carbs.
Now, how I make my protein is, listen.
I have this air fryer,
I think my husband purchased it from Amazon,
I will link it below.
It saves my life every single time.
Because everything tastes fried,
but it's not fried, it's not deep fried, it's air fried.
So it's still healthy, Boo Boo.
Okay?
So that's what I did, how I lost my weight.
For lunch, protein and a salad.
Between lunch and dinner, which is a long ass time,
you need to eat, you hungry.
So munch on them chickpea snacks,
make yourself a protein shake with fruits,
green powder, somethin' healthy.
And wait until dinner, don't eat anything else.
Just have your little protein shake,
and you will be good to go, trust me.
Okay, so for dinner, I would eat roast chicken.
Now, roast chicken was my favorite.
It still is my favorite,
but when I would try to lose weight,
roast chicken was my go-to.
I would cook that at least three times a week.
I love makin' it too!
So I would buy a whole chicken from the grocery store,
and marinade it in different seasoning.
Now I would let it marinade for a good three or four hours,
so it's nice and juicy and...(slurping)
It's like love in your mouth.
And I would roast it in the oven for 45 to an hour,
depending on how high or low
you put the temperature, and what not.
And I would add a bunch of vegetables in it.
Like broccoli, carrots,
I'd put onions in there to give it more flavor.
I would stuff the roast chicken's butt
with onions and garlic to give it a nice, yummy, sexy,
(slurping) tasty flavor.
And I would just throw a bunch of vegetables in there.
(laughs)
And you can also add sweet potato to your roast chicken,
potato to your roast chicken.
But if you're tryin' to lose weight,
if you absolutely have to eat carbs in your life,
eat brown rice, eat sweet potato,
whole wheat.
Don't eat that white each, 'kay?
Don't eat no white rice, white pasta,
just stay away from that.
It's all about the dark.
(laughs)
I'm such an idiot, all right?
When you think about eating carbs,
the darker you go, the better it is for you.
I think I just made that up.
And that's what I would have for dinner
when I was trying to lose weight.
And I would also add my little kale salad on the side.
After dinner, oh yeah, I'm not complete, uh?
Well okay, not after every single dinner
and not every single day,
but the kids and I and Adam, we just love to stretch.
We're low-key tryna introduce our kids to working out.
Sometimes when I'm working out in the morning, it's so cute.
My baby girl, Samia she would do her little push-ups,
her little sit-ups, jumping jacks,
when I would warm-up and run around then house,
she would run with me.
And Zayn would be like, "Ahh wait for me!"
And he would do his little jumping jacks, it's so cute.
Yeah, introduce your kids young.
Because these kids nowaday, all they do is on their phone,
on YouTube, on Instagram, playin' video games,
gainin' all that weight.
Take your butt outside! (laughs)
Yes y'all, so that's what I did to lose all that weight.
Now a lot of you know,
if you follow me on Snapchat and Instagram,
you know that I was able to lose 10 pounds in one month.
Which is why a lot of you guys are here right now.
So, that's exactly what I did, all right?
I stayed away from the carbs,
and I kept a high protein diet,
and I ate a lotta vegetables and kale salad for 30 days.
And that's how I was able to lose 10 pounds in 30 days.
It was pretty fast.
And working out, of course, working out.
You have to work out, you have to incorporate working out.
But 60% of how you're able to lose weight
is all what you put into your body.
So drink a lotta water, and eat clean y'all,
and you'll be able to lose all that weight.
As I mentioned before, I created ShesTough.com.
Which is a 30...
Or is it that way?
Can't, I don't know,
I don't know which way you're lookin' at.
It's a 30-day program that gives you
all of my workout routines in 30 days,
my nutritional guidelines, and my support.
If you're like me,
and you still don't know what the heck to do,
and you want a step by step program,
like, what you do on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thurday, Friday, and Saturday,
ShesTough.com, my 30-day program, is for you.
All you have to do is click the link
in the description box below,
or go to ShesTough.com.
We're in this together.

Social Development: Crash Course Sociology #13 - Duration: 10:14.
Have you ever met a friend's parents and realized that your friend was basically a mini-me of their mom?
Not just because they both have brown hair or a pointy nose.
It's how they talk, the way they both like making silly puns, their attitudes and beliefs.
Now the question is: How much of that similarity is genetic,
and how much is just a function of that fact that your friend grew up with their mom, and pretty much learned how to be a human being by watching her?
This is the age old question: nature or nurture?
Nature is the part of human behavior that's biologically determined and instinctive.
When a baby latches onto your finger and won't let go, and it's basically the cutest thing
in the whole world, it's not because they learned to do that – it's natural.
A lot of human behavior, however, isn't instinctive – it comes instead from how you're nurtured.
The nurture part of behavior is based on the people and environment you're raised in.
And it's this second part – the social environment that determines human behavior
– that sociologists tend to investigate and have many different theories about.
[Theme Music]
To a big extent, we develop our personalities and learn about our society and culture through a social process – one known as socialization.
Sounds legit, right?
But what happens if you don't have people around you?
Social isolation affects our emotional and cognitive development, a lot.
To get a glimpse into how and why this is, let's go to the Thought Bubble to look at sociologist Kingsley Davis's case studies on Anna.
In the winter of 1938, a social worker investigated a report of child neglect on a small Pennsylvania farm and found, hidden in a storage shed, a five-year-old girl.
That five-year girl was Anna.
She was unwanted by the family she was born into and was passed from house to house among neighbors and strangers for the first six months of her life.
Eventually, she ended up being kept in a shed with no human contact other than to receive food.
Kingsley Davis observed Anna for years after her rescue and wrote about the effects of this upbringing on her development.
When Anna was first rescued, she was unable to speak or smile, and was completely unresponsive to human interaction.
Even after years of education and medical attention, her mental development at age eight was less than that of a typical two-year old.
This is a story with both a sad beginning and a sad ending.
Anna died of a blood disorder at the age of 10.
And Davis' study of how isolation affects young children was only one of many that have shown how a lack of socialization affects children's ability to develop language skills, social skills, and emotional stability.
Thanks Thought Bubble.
There are lots of different theories about how we develop personalities, cognitive skills,
and moral behavior, many of which come from our siblings in social science: psychologists.
Take Sigmund Freud.
You've heard of him: Austrian guy?
Liked cigars? Invented the field of psychoanalysis?
One of his main theories was about how personalities develop.
He thought we were born with something called an id.
You can think of the id as your most basic, unconscious drive – a desire for food, comfort, attention.
All a baby knows is it wants THAT and it will scream until it gets it.
But then we develop the ego and superego to balance the id.
Ego is the voice of reason, your conscious efforts to rein in the pleasure-seeking id.
And your superego is made up of the cultural values and norms that you internalize and use to guide your decisions.
So if the id is the devil on your shoulder, the superego is the angel on the other shoulder,
and the ego is the mediator who intervenes when the angel and devil start fighting.
Now, a lot of Freud's work hasn't stood the test of time,
but his theories about how society affects our development has influenced pretty much everyone who has researched the human personality.
This includes Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget, who spent much of his career in the early 1900s studying cognitive development.
While researching ways to measure children's intelligence, Piaget noticed that kids of similar ages tended to make similar mistakes.
And this, to Piaget, suggested that there were four different stages of cognitive development.
First Stage: TOUCH EVERYTHING!
Babies learn about the world by grabbing things and sticking them in their mouths.
This curious, slobbery interaction with the world is what Piaget called the sensorimotor stage –
the level of development where all knowledge is based on what you can perceive with your senses.
Around age 2, a child enters the next stage, known as the preoperational stage.
At this point, kids have learned to use language and begin to ask questions to learn about the world, rather than just grabbing stuff.
Now they can think about the world and use their imaginations – which leads to playing pretend and an understanding of symbols.
But thinking about the world is pretty much limited to how THEY think about the world.
Kids in the preoperational stage are pretty ego-centric;
if they love playing with trains and you ask them what their dad's favorite thing to do is, they'll probably say that he loves playing with trains too.
It's not until they reach the concrete operational stage, around 6 or 7, that they develop the
ability to take in other people's perspectives, and begin to make cause-and-effect connections between events in their surroundings.
And in the formal operational stage, at about age 12, Piaget said, kids begin to think in the abstract and use logic and critical thinking.
Now, American psychologist Lawrence Kohlberg later expanded on Piaget's model of cognitive development to incorporate stages of moral development.
Essentially, kids' sense of what is "right" begins in what Kohlberg called the pre-conventional stage,
where right is just what feels good to them personally.
Next, they move to the conventional stage, where what's right is what society and the people around them tells them is right.
And then finally, children end up in the post-conventional stage, where they begin to consider more abstract ethical concepts than just right or wrong.
So at a young age, a child doesn't realize that grabbing the candy bar they want at the store is wrong – they just want it.
But then, a combination of societal norms and being scolded by their parents convinces them that stealing is wrong, no matter how much they want the candy bar.
And over time, they learn that morals have gray areas;
stealing is wrong if it's just for fun, but might be considered less wrong if you're stealing to feed your family.
Eventually, children reach a point where they're able to think about things like freedom and justice,
and realize that societal norms about what's right may not always line up with these principles.
Sure, laws against stealing candy may be just, but what about laws that say only certain people can get married?
Just because something is a law, is it right?
How you feel about that question may depend on your socialization.
And on your gender.
Carol Gilligan, an American psychologist who started out as a research assistant and collaborator
of Kohlberg's, explored how girls and boys experience these stages differently.
She realized that Kohlberg's original studies only had male subjects – which may have biased his findings.
When she expanded the research to look at both male and female children, she found that
boys tended to emphasize formal rules to define right and wrong – what she called a justice perspective.
Whereas girls tended to emphasize the role of interpersonal reasoning in moral decisions
– what she called a care and responsibility perspective.
Gilligan argued that these differences stem from cultural conditioning that girls receive to fulfill ideals of femininity.
She thought that we socialize girls to be more nurturing and empathetic, and that influences their moral interpretation of behavior.
The next theory of social development I want to focus on is from American sociologist George
Herbert Mead, who was one of the founders of the sociological paradigm we talked about
a few episodes ago, known as symbolic interactionism.
His work focused on how we develop a "self."
What makes up the you that is inherently you?
Are you born with some inherent spark of you-ness?
According to Mead no!
Instead, he believed that we figure out who we are through other people.
All social interactions require you to see yourself as someone else might see you –
something Mead described as "taking on the role of others."
In the first stage of development, according to Mead's model, we learn through imitation
– we watch how others behave and try to behave like them.
You see your mom smile at your neighbor, so you smile too.
And Mead observed that as kids got older, they moved on to a new stage – play.
Rather than just imitating your mom, you might play at being a mom, taking care of a doll.
Assuming the role of "mommy" or "daddy" is a kid imagining the world from their parent's perspective.
The next stage of development is the game stage, where children learn to take on multiple roles in a single situation.
What does that have to do with games?
Well, games use rules and norms, and require kids to take on a role themselves, and develop that role in reaction to the roles that others take on.
Team sports are a great example of this.
When you're playing soccer, you need to not only know what you're going to do, but also what your teammates and your opponents will do.
If you were ever the kid who ended up running the wrong way on the soccer field because
you didn't realize the ball had switched possession, you know how important it is to anticipate what other people do.
The last stage, in Mead's model, occurs when we learn how to take on multiple roles in multiple situations.
In this phase, we weigh our self and our actions not against one specific role, but against a 'generalized other' –
basically, a manifestation of all of our culture's norms and expectations.
Now, you might have noticed that all these theories focus on childhood.
So, does that mean that your personality is set once you hit 18?
No, definitely no.
As anyone over 18 will tell you, you keep growing well past high school.
And that's why yet another theorist, German-born psychologist Erik Erikson, came up with his
own eight-stage theory of development, that goes all the way from infancy to old age.
He based these stages on the key challenge of each period of life.
When you're a toddler, for example, your biggest challenge is getting what you want
– or as Erikson puts it, gaining autonomy, which helps you build skills and confidence in your abilities.
But once you're a young adult, you've got plenty of autonomy.
Now a bigger challenge is developing intimate relationships.
Falling in love, finding friends – there's a reason that's the focus of every 20-something sitcom.
And his list goes on.
Every life stage from when you're born to when you die features different expectations that inform what we see as markers of social development.
Moving out, getting married, having kids – they're all societal markers of social development as an adult.
But whether you feel like one or not, adulthood will come for us all –
and it's your socialization that will determine how exactly you perform the role of "adult."
Next week, we'll talk about the different agents of socialization that shape who we really end up being.
Today we learned about social development, starting with the role of nature and nurture in influencing a person's development.
We talked about social isolation and the importance of care and human interaction in early years for proper emotional and mental development.
Then, we talked about five theories of development: Freud's Id, Ego, and Superego;
Piaget's Four Stages of Cognitive Development,
Kohlberg and Gilligan's theories of moral development;
Mead's theory of self; And Erik Erikson's life stage theory.

BREAKING: President Trump Hit With Massive Lawsuit… Please Pray! - Duration: 1:51.
The left is launching another massive attack on President Donald Trump — and this time,
it's revolving around his business empire.
On Monday, Maryland and Washington D.C. officials will sue the commander-in-chief for "violating"
the emoluments clause in the Constitution, claiming he's "accepting payments and
benefits from foreign governments through his businesses.
Breitbart reports:
The announced lawsuit adds to Trump's woes as he grapples with congressional and a special
prosecutor's probes into his campaign's alleged ties with Russia, which US intelligence
agencies say meddled aggressively in the 2016 election to held Trump win.
Since taking power in January, Trump has turned day to day control over his real estate empire
and other assets to his adult sons, but not sold them off as many said he should to avoid
conflicts of interest.
The lawsuit will be filed Monday by the attorneys general of Maryland and Washington in the
US District Court for the District of Maryland, the Washington Post reported.
Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh said the case is about Trump's failure to separate
his personal interests from his presidential duties.
Frosh told the Post that the emoluments clause mandates that "the president put the country
first and not his own personal interest first."
A key case in the dispute is a hotel that Trump opened last year by leasing a large,
stately building that used to be a central post office, just down the road from the White
House.
Aside from the issue of the foreign payments ban, Maryland and Washington complain that
the presence of a Trump hotel hurts competing hotels in their jurisdictions.
what do you think about this?

Aliens Are Robots, Who Have Overthrown Their Masters' – Now Hint - Duration: 4:37.
Aliens Are Robots, Who Have Overthrown Their Masters Now Hints UK Queens Astronomer
This is not the first time that we have witnessed hints that Alien Beings in space could
actually be artificial intelligence who have overruled their superiors now the British
Queens top Astronomer believes that ALIENS are likely to be electronic beings which have
overthrown their masters!
Lord Martin Rees, the leading British Astronomer Royal, has revealed what he believes aliens
creatures will be like.
He has envisioned a Terminator-esque world where electronic beings have replaced
their organic masters.
Lord Rees said the alien beings will be nothing like humanity and will have taken over the
world of their creators, just like you see in many science fiction films science
fiction becoming Science FACT??
Susan Schneider, a professor of philosophy at the University of Connecticut, has ALSO
confirmed the exact same thoughts recently as Lord Martin Rees.
She joins a handful of astronomers, including Seth Shostak, director of NASAs Search
for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, or SETI, program, NASA Astrobiologist Paul Davies,
and Library of Congress Chair in Astrobiology Stephen Dick in espousing the view that the
dominant intelligence in the cosmos is probably artificial.
In her paper Alien Minds, written for a forthcoming NASA publication, Schneider
describes why alien life forms are likely to be synthetic, and how such creatures might
think please see below article on this below!
Most people have an iconic idea of aliens as these biological creatures, but that doesnt
make any sense from a timescale argument, Ive bet dozens of astronomers coffee
that if we pick up an alien signal, itll be artificial life. Seth Shostak (NASA).
It would extremely unlikely to find alien beings who are similar to humans, the
74-year-old Lord Martin Rees said.
He then described organic intelligence as a thin sliver between the primordial
stages of life and the dominant era of machines.
Celebrity scientist Stephen Hawking previously warned we should hope aliens do not come to
Earth, while also warning the development of AI could be the worth thing for humanity
strangely though, Stephen Hawking is now heading up a multi billion project involved
in searching for ET lifeforms in space, called the Breakthrough Listen

The position of British Astronomer Royal was created by King Charles II in 1675 and the
holder is regarded as an official member of the Royal Household it appears that this
important man within the Elite is suggesting something which many others are saying too!
U.I.P SUMMARY
It is interesting how the worlds leading scientists and Astronomers are now talking about Aliens,
something which would have been mocked some 10, 20 years ago!
Could it be that the elite know something that we dont and are trying to impregnate
this thought into all of our heads?
Perhaps they know what lies beyond and know of its origin!?
Lets not forget that we have also been warned of alien-hybrid armies in space it appears
that the Elite like to encourage fear amongst us about what lies beyond.
But lets not forget who the real possible enemy are on our very own planet Earth.
Of course to travel the vastness of space would certainly be more convenient if you
were a self sufficient being that does not age perhaps this is what we are seeing
in the clear starry nights above our homes?

Making It As A Musician - Ben Wilson - Duration: 1:55.
I think sometimes the question comes up about what it really means to make it in music.
And to me, and to many of the people that I sort of associate with outside of the rock
n' roll world, I remember a guy, there was a great jazz guitar teacher in Ann Arbor at
a community college, he taught a lot of my friends guitar.
And he always referred to the people that stayed in music as "heroes," because those
are the people that kind of, that keep it going.
You know, and because it's not easy, you know, it can be very difficult, it's not a secure
and stable situation.
So you gotta love it, and you gotta dig in.
And so making it for me, it can happen on so many different levels, there's actually
a kid across the street behind us over here who's (an) amazing young musician.
And he's all like wondering what "making it's" gonna be, what does that look like?
And to me it's just making a living doing music.
I mean, if you can just get to that point, you are so much more successful, lucky, than
so many people on the planet that have all picked up a guitar, played their piano, and
I am so grateful for what I've been able to kind of live through music that I never, you
know, I had fantasies about it when I was jumping around in my living room with the broomstick
playing, "Symphony for the Devil" and screaming it out when no one was home, but I never in
a million years thought it would actually happen like this.
I'm not wealthy, but everything's great, and so if you can teach, if you can teach and
then play your gigs on the weekend, or you like your string section, or whatever, and
you're just immersed in music, and you're making a living from it.

Why Do You Want to Squeeze Cute Things? - Duration: 6:08.
The following SciShow Psych is brought to you by Squarespace.
[INTRO]
When you look at pictures of cute babies or adorable little puppies, it can be hard to
resist the urge to just, "d'aww!"
They're just so darn cute!
All the little noses, and big eyes, and don't you just want to pinch those adorable cheeks
and eat them up?
That's a pretty common reaction, but it's also really weird, when you think about it.
It's not like you'd want to hurt a baby or a puppy, but for some reason you just … want
to squeeze it.
Well, turns out, that weird urge probably has to do with the way we handle strong emotions.
When you see something with big, wide-set eyes, a little nose and chin, and a round
face — in other words, like a baby face — your nurturing instincts get triggered,
whether you're looking at a tiny human or another adorable animal.
In the 1940s, Konrad Lorenz, an Austrian animal behavior researcher, called this collection
of facial characteristics Kindchenschema, or "baby schema".
But it applies to more than just babies — we tend to find anything with these characteristics
extra cute.
Researchers have found that if you manipulate these traits, like by making the eyes bigger
or smaller, that affects how strongly people react and how adorable they find something.
They've also found that baby faces activate a bunch of different brain areas and circuits,
including areas that have to do with feeling rewarded.
So at a deep level, we're motivated to care for things with baby-like faces.
Cute things might even help you focus.
A pair of small experiments from Japan in 2012 found that looking at pictures of cute
baby animals, as opposed to adult animals or food, boosted people's performance on
tasks like finding specific numbers in a large display.
So there's some excuses for watching a bunch of cat videos when you're supposed to be
studying.
It makes sense that cuteness would be associated with reward and focus, because it's an evolutionary
advantage to want to protect and nurture babies.
But the intense reaction to cuteness can also lead to something else: that urge to use what's
called "cute aggression" — when you want to pinch chubby cheeks and squeeze adorable
things, even though you don't actually want to hurt them.
Showing positive and negative emotional expressions at the same time isn't that uncommon.
It's pretty normal to cry from happiness or laugh when you're angry.
They're called dimorphous expressions, and some people experience them more than others.
Cute aggression is a dimorphous expression that involves mixing nurturing with playful
squeezing, pinching, and maybe even biting.
And in a paper published in 2015 in the journal Psychological Science, researchers at Yale
decided to explore what it is about cuteness that leads to that particular mix.
They first asked 679 people to describe what their usual emotional reactions were like
— say, if it was hard for them to hide their excitement, or if they cried during the happiest
parts of movies.
Then, participants rated how positive and negative they currently felt to establish
a baseline mood level for each person.
Next, they looked at photos of babies that were either unedited, or had been enhanced
to look more or less baby-like by changing the size of their eyes, nose, and chin.
They rated each photo based on how nurturing they felt while they were looking at it, if
they felt emotionally overwhelmed, and whether they experienced any cute aggressive urges,
like wanting to pinch the baby's cheeks.
After looking at the pictures, participants rated their mood again to measure how much
it changed.
Then they did a word search for 5 minutes just to pass some time before rating their
mood once more.
The researchers found that the more baby-like photos were rated more positively, just like
in other studies on baby schema.
But they also found that the cuter babies were more likely to make people feel emotionally
overwhelmed and to report cute aggressive urges, like wanting to squeeze the baby.
The thing is, it was usually only if people felt overwhelmed that they also felt cute
aggression.
Cute aggression was also related to how often people reported dimorphous emotional expressions
in general.
For example, if someone said that they tended to cry from happiness, they were more likely
to report feeling like they wanted to squeeze or pinch the babies, or that they wanted to
eat them all up.
They also found something surprising: at the end of the study, people who reported feeling
cute aggressive urges were closer to their initial mood.
In other words, the cute aggression seemed
to help them cope with the overwhelming positive emotions and get back to normal.
Now, we'll need more studies before we know exactly what's up with cute aggression,
but the researchers think that these mixed expressions might be one way people manage
strong emotions — in this case, positive emotions.
It's harder to be a good caregiver if you're overwhelmed by the cuteness in front of you,
so gently pinching a baby's cheeks, or at least feeling the urge to, might actually
be helpful.
It gives you somewhere to channel the emotion.
So the next time you find yourself uncontrollably smiling at a video of cute kittens and you
feel like you want to eat them all up, that's probably just your brain trying to keep you
from being totally overwhelmed by the adorableness.
So just imagine…(chewing sound)...it'll... it'll help you cope, just, not eating it,
just put it in your mouth.
Or, you could make a website devoted to putting cats in your mouth.
Not as a bad, just like as a fun activity if you wanted to do that, or make any other
kind of website, yes, this is the segue.

5 Reasons Why COMMUNISM Does NOT Work - Duration: 13:05.
You know in a perfect society everyone would have equal access to food shelter
in every other form of basic resource necessary not only for survival but for
living a good quality life you know truly realized utopia there would be not
the smallest hint of racism sexism and every other form of discrimination and
oppression and at the very core of this utopian imagining of the world would be
well communism or at least it would be if history had not from time to time
again crude communism to be rather incapable in his quest for realizing in
advance and absolute egalitarian society while communism has evolved to be a
particularly complex convoluted and nuanced concept both of the economy and
politics almost everybody who has heard of the world has a basic of its simple
understanding of the kind of society it imagines simply puts communism pushes
for a world governed by absolute egalitarianism more than anything else
communism aims to enable a global society where every member has equal
access to the fruits and benefits derived from labour communism most
recognizable iands in socio political and economic equality realized through
the elimination of well private property and a communism is the sworn enemy of
capitalism built on the cornerstone of social equality communism since its
inception has always been an attractive alternative to the predominantly
capitalist mode of society that is embedded in most of the modern world but
if communism was such a noble idea then why hasn't it replaced capitalism as the
dominant force that drives global economy and can it ever in fact replace
capitalism in this regard if in theory communism was all about egalitarianism
then why in practice has a yielded only unstable dictatorial governments
governments that have bestowed absolute material wealth to the rulers and
crushing poverty to the masses to arrive at answers to these questions it is
imperative that we not only define communism but take a focused look into
every milk and cranny of this crumbling establishment and as with most things
with the long complicated history the best place to start is where it all
began London 1848 with the publication of the quintessential marxist texts the
communist manifesto modern communism as we understand it today and deeply
rooted in another left-wing economic school thought socialism socialism was
already set in place for more than a few decades when German philosophers Karl
Marx and Frederick Engels put forth their economic disclosure in the
Communist Manifesto the very body of work that most academics believed gave
rise to modern communism for the most part communist discourse was heavily
derived from socialism the communist agenda for a classless society an
egalitarian access to wealth sustained unity among the working class that our
working conditions and a common ownership of resources among many others
trace their roots back to socialist ideas it was also socialism that first
advocated for the states to take sole and absolute control of the forces and
means of production and distribution in the society but the biggest difference
between the two left-wing schools lies in the manner in which they operate
socialism was designed to operate within the existing democratic structure of a
capitalist society communism on the other hand was designed to specifically
overthrow through a violent revolution existing democratic and capitalist
structures communism was designed to redistribute wealth to allow the poor in
the working class in equals social and financial rights long enjoyed by the
middle class in the land owning Lee this redistribution of wealth is ultimately
achieved by relinquishing control of the means of production to the state this
basically means that in a communist society nobody can own any business it
means that nobody can produce anything that can be sold for profit because the
state owns every means of production and is in charge of its distribution
according to Frederick Engels and principles of communism a fully realized
communist utopia can only be achieved on the principle that a unified communist
system governs every single country in every single society in the world
historically however countries that were early adopters of communism have
produced governments and societies that were less than utopic now let's get into
a little bit about the Cold War if history has any indication of its
political tendencies communism often sets itself as a cornerstone to
totalitarian dictatorships understandably the advocacy of communism
that enables violent revolutions worldwide along with its prominent
history of authoritarianism has made it a sworn enemy of the many countries who
value am crédit government and free-market
society this geopolitical tension between communist republics and
democratic nations has in recent history given rise to the cold war between the
United States and the then USSR it took five long decades but it was the cold
war that ultimately ended the USSR in 1991 the cold war started sometime in
1945 at the tail end of World War two the Cold War was marked by the relative
absence of any large-scale fighting between the two sides it remained a top
international concern however because both the USA and the USSR engaged in an
unprecedented arms race both parties were developing at an alarming pace
overkill retaliatory weapons that could easily result in mass destruction as a
result both countries fully engaged in legitimate scare tactics to have kept
each other in line and this all ended in 1991 with the collapse of the USSR now
let's get into a little bit about modern communism it was discourses of Karl Marx
in the Communist Manifesto that gave rise to modern communism his communism
is often referred to as Marxism Marx wrote the communist manifesto in 1848 at
it's very core Marxist ideals are relatively simple to free the poor from
poverty by allowing the existence of a truly egalitarian society the very means
that Marx proposed to achieve these ends however it was a different story
simply put Karl Marx believed that a true communist society should rise from
the ashes of capitalism in order to truly liberate the lower-class from
poverty Marxism advocates for a violent revolution that would result in the
total destruction of any existing systems besides communism following the
hypothetical dismantling of capitalism Marx would then push for a dictatorial
take over on the means of production in every segment of society according to
Marx it is imperative that a dictatorial governments gain absolute control over
its citizens Marthe imagined in all-encompassing
control that would allow the state to make personal decisions for its citizens
Martha's idea of state control extended to education and employment religion and
marriage and virtually every personal choice that could potentially affect the
society this communist dictatorship according to Marx should also take
charge in the collectivization of property and wealth Marx believed that
it is only after these pre records is Armenta the true communist utopia can
be realized now it is important to note that Karl Marx died before any of his
theories can be proven in practice while there were many nations that adopted a
communist set up in the past so you told the up Marx envision has yet to be
achieved much of the difficulty in realising Marxist communist utopia lies
in the violence global implementation that Marxism seeks to enforce because
only by destroying every non communist society where communism finally succeed
in building a classless society but it has become quite the irony however that
the long-standing ideas of democracy and a free-market economy which Marxism
seeks to overthrow from the very beginning proved to be the defining
force responsible in overthrowing Marxism in one communist countries and
it is a curious question therefore what are the weakest points of the Communist
establishment that ultimately allowed it to collapse upon itself so here are five
reasons why communism at the end of the day proved to be a really really dumb
stupid idea number one forced collectivization collectivization was an
anti private farming policy adopted by the USSR in an effort to facilitate the
equitable distribution of agricultural produce all while reducing the economic
power of the kulaks or the prosperous proletariat the fourth
collectivization law was most intensely pursued between 1928 in 1940 which
coincided with Stalin's rise to power following Marxist doctrine the USSR
believed that forced collectivization were to maximize the agricultural
resources in the countryside at the same time to collect the possession law was
pursued Russian industry was taken off in an unbelievable pace and great stores
of food were necessary to feed the growing workforce at the beginning of
the 1930s a that majority of agricultural farms were forcibly
enrolled in the collectivization program this meant that all items produced on
the farm were equally distributed among the population naturally this policy was
met by vicious masses of resisting landowners most of whom were the
small-time farmers who killed their own land to counteract this resistance Colin
swiftly sent out executioner's to get rid of those who opposed to co-opt
ization effort this led to tens of millions of people who starve to death
the states react juez ition of private farms was largely paid for by the
working class some tens of millions of whom damaged to death in the first five
years of for school zatia Chinese farmers were met with the
same fate in the 1960s which left 33 million people starving to their deaths
the forced collectivization in China was arguably the single worst famine in
recent human history mixed lack of basic human rights communism in theory is a
philosophical imagining of a utopian society where citizens of the states are
ultimately able to share resources and benefits according to need where
property serves as the common good for all and where citizens engage in work
motivated by personal desire rather than economic need communism and practice
however has realized only authoritarian society so far where individual rights
suffer for collective progress fundamental commonplace ideals like
freedom of speech and artistic expression among others holds a great
threat to a communist society the blatant disregard for fundamental civil
right is at the very heart of the collapse of the marxist government in
former communist states the above-mentioned forced collectivization
policy for example is a dangerous practice in circumventing human rights
number three failure to adapt among the most prominent reasons why a marxist set
up of society tends to collapse upon itself is because of its inability to
adapt to the changing conditions that exists outside of its prescribed reality
for instance the fluctuation that occurs in a free-market economy is a real-world
riddle that Marxism economists were unable to solve a Marxist approach to
understanding the market fails to take into account the market prices of
commodities without access to the checks and balances of the prices of
commodities it was unable to properly distribute its national resources next
lack of creativity a Marxist informed states by design values utilitarianism
over anything else Marxist utilitarianism basically means that for
every action performed by a citizen there must be a resulting contribution
to the empowerment of the state communist nations have little to no use
for artistic endeavors such as the writing of literature sculpture and
painting among others needless to say such thinking has allowed communist
governments to violently undermine the individual aspirations of its citizens
whatever work of art that is created in a communist society is only allowed to
exist by the government to serve a singular purpose and a singular purpose
only to hell the Communist Party and on the other hand artists
who oppose the Communist Party are perceived as threat and are immediately
eliminated funnily Marxism was a bad idea from the very start a likely
explanation to the failures of communism both as in economic and political
establishments is that Karl Marx is basically a moron much of the economic
philosophies of Marxism are deeply rooted in the labor theory of value
simply puts the theory predicts that relative value of commodity based on the
amount of labour that was needed for its production it has searched that for
example a car should cost more than a pair of sneakers simply because more
labour was necessary in the production of a car than a pair of sneakers
while that equation might sound reasonable on the surface it is too
overly simplified for example let's take that iPhone you all have there are other
cell phones out there that pretty much match the performance in every single
specification of the more popular iPhone yet the iPhone retails for twice as much
I mean the cost of materials and labor between the two phones are pretty
similar yet people can widely pay twice as much for an iPhone the same is true
for medicine and with almost every commodity in the market because the real
world economy dictates that the price of a product is motivated by its supply in
demand but to Marx he saw communism as the final evolution of social
progression he believed that the world was bound to evolve from primitive
civilizations to masters and slave societies to feudal kingdoms to
capitalist countries that socialist nations until eventually to a singular
egalitarian communist utopia but there exists a larger world outside Karl
Marx's mind a world that might not be a utopia in any shape or form but a much
real world nonetheless peopled by those who live through real-world abuses
driven by political and economic inequality and let's just take the
real-world examples I mean would you like to live in North Korea even in
China where it looks very successful in growing in modern from the surface you
still could be arrested for talking about Tibet and freedom where Taiwan
independence were Falun Gong or even having a Bible study in your home anyway
I made this video because a lot of people were messaging me asking me to
talk about communism so hopefully you guys found this helpful
thank you all so much for watching see you later
