The Untold Truth Of America's First Ladies - Duration: 6:22.

Landing the title of America's First Lady sounds like a glamorous gig, but the role

of FLOTUS isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

Louisa Adams once said,

"There is something in this great unsocial house which depresses my spirits beyond expression

and makes it impossible for me to feel at home, or to fancy that I have a home anywhere."

And she wasn't the only person to feel cooped up in the White House.

Here's a look at some of the most remarkable First Lady tragedies and triumphs throughout

the years.

Dolley Madison's piece of history

Dolley Payne Todd Madison, the wife of fourth President James Madison, was an enormously

influential First Lady, with a vivacious, fun personality.

She first had experience in the role of First Lady before her husband was elected president,

as Dolley was Secretary of State to the widowed president Thomas Jefferson.

When she became the official First Lady in 1809, she held the first inaugural ball.

And while in the White House, she created buzz by serving ice cream, a total showstopper

at the time, since there were no freezers yet in existence.

But Dolley's most memorable moment was during the War of 1812.

When the British invaded Washington, D.C. in 1814, she filled a wagon with White House

treasures — including the famous Gilbert Stuart portrait of George Washington — before

fleeing, leaving her personal items behind.

The British burned down the White House, but her courage is still fondly remembered.

Mary Todd Lincoln, shopaholic

Abraham Lincoln's wife became one of the most controversial First Ladies in history, and

was very unpopular for a variety of reasons.

Word quickly leaked about her "hellcat" temper and her crazy shopping sprees.

She was said to have rang up debt on ridiculous purchases, including 400 gloves in four months.

The death of their son Willie in 1862 due to typhoid fever sent her into a tailspin.

She was so grief-stricken that many people, including Lincoln himself, worried about her

mental health.

One year later, Mary would suffer the ultimate tragedy when Lincoln was assassinated in front

of her.

Her mental health would continue to deteriorate, and in 1875, her son Robert had her committed

to an asylum.

Eleanor Roosevelt's marriage arrangement

Anna Eleanor Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt were distant cousins who married in 1905 and

had six children.

She attempted to divorce Roosevelt after finding him in an affair with his social secretary,

Lucy Mercer, but his wealthy mother threatened to cut him off financially.

So Eleanor agreed to stay married barring that he never invite another woman in their

bed.

For the next 27 years, the two had a political partnership only.

Due to him becoming paralyzed from polio, she served as his "eyes, ears, and legs" throughout

the Great Depression and World War II.

Eleanor also had a very close friendship with reporter Lorena Hickok in the 1930s, which

appeared to contain romantic elements.

When Franklin died in Warm Springs, GA in 1945, Eleanor learned that Mercer was with

him.

Not only did Eleanor feel another betrayal, but she was devastated to learn that their

daughter Anna had arranged some of his Lucy liaisons.

Ouch.

Jackie Kennedy's other horrible loss

Jacqueline Lee Bouvier met John F. Kennedy at a dinner party, and they married in 1953.

They wanted a family, but Jackie had difficult pregnancies with Caroline and John Jr., as

well as a miscarriage, and a stillborn child.

She had also had a troubled marriage, due in part to Kennedy's womanizing.

Happy Birthday Mr. President. Happy Birthday to you.

In 1963, Jackie was the first First Lady since Frances Folsom Cleveland to have a baby while

her husband was in office.

Unfortunately, Patrick Bouvier Kennedy had respiratory distress syndrome and lived just

two days.

JFK had grown up in a household where he was told that "Kennedys don't cry," but he wept

after little Patrick died.

Betty Ford's cancer

Elizabeth Anne Bloomer Ford was arguably the first truly modern First Lady.

She was a divorcee who studied and taught modern dance when she met future president

Gerald Ford in 1947.

They married and had four children as he pursued his political career.

In 1973, Richard Nixon named Ford as vice president.

Then, after both Nixon and his vice president resigned, Ford became the only president not

elected to office.

Betty Ford was outspoken on abortion, women's rights, and divorce.

She even slept in the same White House bed as her husband, which was shocking at the

time.

Shortly after becoming First Lady, she found out she had breast cancer and had a mastectomy.

Instead of keeping it quiet, as many women did back then, she went public with her struggle,

leading many women to be proactive with their health.

Michelle Obama's garden

Michelle LaVaughn Robinson was Barack Obama's mentor at the law firm she worked at when

they met in 1989.

They married in 1992, had two children, and moved into the White House

in 2009.

Michelle's "Let's Move!" anti-childhood obesity program encouraged kids to eat better and

exercise.

But even before it launched, she set an example for the nation by creating a vegetable garden

on the White House grounds in early 2009.

This wasn't the first garden in presidential history, but this was a much more ambitious

endeavor.

Michelle wrote in her 2013 book American Grown,

"It is my hope that our garden's story — and the stories of gardens across America — will

inspire families, schools and communities to try their own hand at gardening."

What will Melania do?

Each First Lady puts her own stamp on the White House, and on the position of First

Lady.

And many of the First Ladies have been incredibly popular — sometimes even more than their

husbands.

It is unclear where Melania Trump will fall in that spectrum.

According to the New Yorker,

"She is a model with the past of a nun."

She's the second foreign-born First Lady, as well as the first First Lady to be a naturalized

US citizen.

In 2017, she made her mark by revealing that she would not move into the White House until

the end of her and Trump's son Barron's school year.

And in her first solo speech during the campaign, she spoke about how she wants to be an advocate

for women and children.

It remains to be seen what else she will do to make a statement as First Lady.

But as we've learned, only FLOTUS knows what truly goes on just past the White House lawn.

Things Die Hard Fans Don't Even Know About Jackass - Duration: 4:33.

With their crazy stunts, death defying feats, and general, all around stupidity, the cast

of Jackass have passed into the realm of urban legend.

"Hi, I'm johnny Knoxville, welcome to Jackass!"

With all the tall tales and crazy stories surrounding the gang, it's hard for people

to know what's real and what's nonsense.

Sometimes, though, truth really is stranger than fiction.

Here's a look at some things die-hard fans don't even know about Jackass.

Imitation is the deadliest form of flattery

Despite the warning at the beginning of every episode as well as the subsequent spinoff

movies, people repeatedly tried to duplicate or create their own versions of dangerous

Jackass-style stunts.

On top of multiple stories of horrifying injuries — one 14-year-old boy reportedly "burned

over 65 percent of his body" after imitating Johnny Knoxville's "Human Barbeque" stunt.

There are tragic incidents where people also lost their lives.

According to The Lubbock Avalanche Journal, in 2002, a 15-year-old from Albuquerque died

after being thrown from a car and dragged underneath it while practicing what police

believed was "a stunt he and a friend had seen on the movie Jackass."

In Maxim's oral history of the show, then-MTV President Van Toffler stressed the safety

precautions taken by the network, saying "We took tons of precautions on set.

We had safety people there all the time.

We never wanted anyone to get hurt.

It's really sad and unfortunate when stuff like that happens.

I'll leave it at that."

Senator Joe Lieberman killed the show

After a Connecticut teen also suffered burns imitating the "Human Barbeque" stunt, Senator

Joe Lieberman issued a statement publicly calling for MTV to get control of its controversial

stunt show.

"It is irresponsible for MTV to air these kinds of stunts on a program clearly popular

with young teens.

I recognize the program is rated for adults and comes with general disclaimers, but there

are some things that are so potentially dangerous and inciting, particularly to vulnerable children,

that they should not be put on TV."

Combined with a growing list of lawsuits, the attention from a senator was apparently

enough for MTV to start tightening the screws on the crazy crew.

Johnny Knoxville quit in response, saying that the new restrictions were creating "a

watered-down version of the show."

Van Toffler told Maxim, "We were symbolic of authority.

They didn't like us drawing lines, which ultimately led to the demise of the show."

But there was a silver lining: the cancellation of the show freed them up to do the movies

instead.

Steve-O is a total clown

When Jackass first introduced the world to Steve-O, he seemed like a guy who lived on

a couch in someone's trailer who you could pay small amounts of money to do practically

anything.

"it's the story you were never supposed to hear.

About the time I tried to shoot my nipple off with a BB gun."

And while at points in his life that was possibly true, Steve-O actually has a formal education

as a circus performer, revealing to Vanity Fair "I was a professional before Jackass

ever started.

I graduated from Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Clown College."

One of his old clown college classmates backed him up in a Reddit AMA, saying "I think Steve-O

probably took away many things and learned a lot, which is a layer within what he currently

does.

I have a feeling he learned a lot about timing and reactions at clown college.

And, anyone that leaves clown college is funnier than when they went in.

I can't see much else that Steve-O does that reflects anything about clown college, though."

Lingering effects

While it wasn't unusual at all for these knuckleheads to hurt themselves, most of their injuries

weren't permanent.

Unfortunately for Steve-O, whose stunts often involved him bringing up his lunch, this wasn't

the case.

In his Reddit AMA, he said he contracted something called Barrett's Esophagus, which he described

as "a pre-cancerous condition in my throat/esophagus for which I blame all of my vomiting, drug

abuse, and generally s***ty living in years past."

Johnny Knoxville also suffered long-term effects after famously rupturing his urethra while

trying to backflip a motorcycle during a stunt for MTV's 24-hour Jackass marathon special.

"why couldn't I get a broken arm or leg, or a broken coller.

But no, I got blood shooting out my pee pee.

I injured the only body part that has meaning to me."

Part of his healing process involved him cathetering himself twice a day for three years with a

tube the size of a number two pencil, just "to keep the scar tissue from constricting

down there," he told Vanity Fair.

He also described his unfortunate appendage as "a dog's chew-toy" and "like a sock that's

lost its elasticity."

There's more, since he talks about it a lot, but… we all kinda get it at this point.

That bites

When it comes to telling stories about injuries, Bam Margera has a whopper of a tale about

the one that got away.

In an interview with IGN, Margera said he came up with the idea to have boxer and notorious

ear-biter Mike Tyson bite off his ear — which he was willing to do because of how much "street

cred" he'd have.

Amazingly, the production company for the films actually contacted the former heavyweight

champ and asked him if he would do it.

As Margera recalled, "Paramount contacted Mike Tyson and he got offended and he said

no."

It's a pretty amazing scenario when Mike Tyson comes through as the voice of reason.

Capitalists Innovate to Solve Problems - Duration: 5:33.

- The greatest contribution that you could

possibly make to the world

is for you to be successful, to start a business,

to be an entrepreneur.

There's this idea that those who create value,

who start businesses and succeed

are doing it on the backs of hardworking people.

The opposite is true.

Those who create the greatest success

in a free market economy,

assuming that it's done voluntarily,

those who have had the most success,

that is a reflection of the value

that they have brought to the marketplace.

My name's Ryan Daniel Marand,

I'm the founder of capitalism.com and the host

of the Freedom Fast Lane podcast,

and we started capitalism.com because

when we look at all of the innovation in the world,

we see the vast majority of it

coming from the free market,

coming from entrepreneurs.

If you look at a company like Tesla, now,

we could debate about Tesla using government subsidies

that were already there,

or we could look at the fact that

we have been trying to solve

the clean energy problem for decades,

and Tesla has done more in the last decade

than government has ever done in the last 50 years.

If we look at the healthcare crisis,

we look at this debate that we're having about

what politician, what gray-haired white politician

is going to determine what's best for all of America,

versus what the founder of Whole Foods has done

to bring whole foods, to bring healthy living mainstream,

entrepreneurs are creating the greatest change.

It's not coming from government,

so we should not be having a debate about

what government should or shouldn't be doing,

we should be having a debate about

how do we create more innovation,

how do we create more entrepreneurs,

how do we create more people

that will create more solutions to problems.

That is why we've had more growth,

more economic growth, more problems solved

in the last 100 years

than ever before in history.

It's because of capitalism,

not because of government.

One of the best ways that individuals can make a difference

is by creating a physical product.

We look at the physical products that have created

a meaningful difference in the world,

a meaningful difference in people's lives,

and created success for the entrepreneur.

I have a buddy, his name is Mike.

He created a physical product because

he saw the healthcare crisis,

he saw what he thought was a problem in the fact that

there are people in this world

who can't afford healthy food,

who can't afford organic food.

So he created a line of physical products

that allowed people to grow it themselves,

to grow it in their own homes,

and it would be affordable for everyone.

So everyone could have organic food on the table

at an affordable price.

Or one of our team members, her name is Marucia,

she just wanted to serve moms.

She just wanted to connect with and serve moms

who give so much to the world,

so she started a coffee line for moms

which is simple and creates a little bit of a difference

in that mom's day,

and as a result has a raving community

that wants to rally behind her products,

and she's creating value and making a difference

in hardworking moms' lives.

Or we have another student, her name is Sophie,

and Sophie saw it as a problem

that we have all this food waste,

and we have all of this, all of these take home containers

that people are just throwing away.

So she created a line of products

that was simply made to help people

have reusable containers that reduced waste in the world.

A little difference that, over a few thousand people,

a few thousand customers, created a meaningful difference

in the world, a meaningful difference

in the customers' lives,

and also created success for the entrepreneur.

That's how we'll make this world a better place,

through more entrepreneurship,

through creating more products that create a better world

for you and the people around you.

If this resonates with you, if you want to be

one of those people that creates value in the world,

or has a business that sells products

that has a meaningful impact on people's lives,

we teach people how to do this.

It's what we stand for and what we believe

at capitalism.com.

We do free trainings all the time

that show people the tactics and the strategies

to start businesses that actually mean something,

and that actually create results and success.

We teach it for free, because if you resonate

with the model, we have incubators,

and we have accelerators, and we have training courses

that you can go through in order to start a business

that makes a meaningful difference in your life

and everyone around you, including your customers.

That's how success is made,

that's how we solve problems,

and that's how we'll move forward as a society.

If you agree with this message,

if you resonate with the fact

that capitalism is how we'll solve the world's problems,

please share this video, follow us on Facebook,

get plugged in to our communities at capitalism.com,

because it is the free market,

and it is individual freedom

that will make this world a better place,

not by waiting for government.

Nawazuddin looks out of the glass in `Carbon`

New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): A fresh poster of Carbon, a futuristic short film set in 2067, is out on the Internet which showcases Nawazzudin Siddiquis exclusive look.

The short film also stars Jackky Bhagnani, Prachi Desai and Yashpal Sharma.   The film focuses on global warming and takes a look at what the future could hold for us if we do not take any action today.

Prachi shared the second poster of the movie on her Twitter handle and captioned it as, #CARBON. Teaser out on #27thJuly.@Nawazuddin_S @jackkybhagnani.

The poster hints that the project is very different from what Nawaz has done in the past few years. He is seen in a space suit looking through a window into outer space.

The tagline of the poster is quite interesting - A story of tomorrow.

The plot is intriguing and its great to see someone attempt such unconventional topics in the country. The environment is something Bollywood celebs have come forward and talked about frequently.

It would be interesting to see how such an intense topic is covered in a short film. The MOM star has worked in a couple of short films before -The Elephant Boy and Elephant Boy.

Christopher Nolan confirms Michael Caine's cameo in 'Dunkirk'

TOP 5 REOL (Eng subs) - Duration: 6:45.

I have a new bed set, isn't it amazing?!

This week, we're talking Vocaloids and cover with the work of REOL

Discovered by singing covers of Vocaloids songs in the beginning, what we called Utaite,

REOL is composed of 3 members:

REOL, the main singer who also writes the lyrics to the original songs

GIGA-P, who's more in charge of the sound and music, he's the composer and arrange all the tracks

but also sings with Reol

and finally Okiku, in charge of the visual so she's making the PV

The sound of REOL is more pop, electro, dance or even Eurobeat

The thing with Utaite is, like Daft Punk for example, they don't reveal their face but have an avatar

They started to publish their covers on the Japanese platform Nico Nico Douga before being cross posting on Youtube.

This week, le me introduce you to 5 songs by REOL, let's go!

Published in 2014, DPC is a collab between Reol and Giga-P

and it was released on NND in 2 versions

As mentioned, they initially started by using the software Vocaloids, which allows you to create songs and use voice samples

There are several Vocaloids that represent different voices, different tune, emotions

The most famous one being Hatsune Miku

So when collabing Reol and GigaP posted 2 versions of their songs:

one with the voices and visual of Vocaloids

and the other with their voices and their avatar

Remember they didn't show their faces

So in 2014, this song is released on both Reol and GigaP's channel in 2 version:

The Utaite one sang by the 2 of them and the Vocaloid one sang by Rin and Luka

DPC's melody is quite colorful with a medium beat, and a touch of autotune

the song is also punctutated by funny samples

The theme is about on-sided love

and to match the 2 audio versions, there are 2 PV:

The Vocaloid one focusing on Luka, this character with pink hair

and the Utaite version focuses on Reol's avatar with purple-blackish har

End of 2016 marks the release of REOL's first album called Sigma and also the first time they reveal their face

and Gimme a break stop now is the title song that will promote the album

and the MV is released on Youtube straight away

The melody is more electro pop with a Kpop-ish touch I wanna say

when it comes to the visual and to Reol's rap with a high-pitch almost twangy voice

Visually it's swagilicious, lots of accessories and costume changes

REOL even portrays her own bakcdancers, because why not?

See, you don't need a big budget to do something decent!

The song even reminds me sometimes of a Britney Spears' song: What don't you do something?

that got ripped off by Hyori Lee btw...

Then again I love Britney so..I'll buy it

The song is catchy and punchy, the lyrics are hilarious

Shes fed up of selca, of superficial people and syrupy declarations, and if you could all

go and fuck yourself...

That'd be great, thanks

The title means Resonnate and is published on Youtube in 2014

Just like DPC it's released in 2 versions: the"human" one

released on Reol's channel and the Vocaloid one on GigaP's

It was released on both NND and YT

This song is again quite pop electro with a touch of autotune

The theme and lyrics is all about love, desire, make your emotions resonnate

It could pretty much be a Vocaloid love declaration to her fanboy/fangirl

Or the other way around

The PV is monochrome in colour and revolve around Hatsune Miku, the infamous Vocaloid

and the voice used for the GigaP version

The song was so popular it got used an infinite amount of time by fans making AMV using the

Miku Miku Dance software, called MMD, that allows you to take a Vocaloid, make it dance on a song of your choice

and create your own PV by moving the camera around, adding effect, etc

MMD are very popular and it's thanks to one MMD of Hibikase that I actually discovered REOL's music

No but seriously...that's the song's title: No Title.

Released in 2014, this time the song just like the voice is very mellow and soft

The medium tempo is regular throughout the song and the chorus is sang with both GigaP and Okiku

No Title became quite popular because it was part of a Rythm game called Osu!

which is similar to Beatmania or even Pop'n Music

As usual, the PV was made by Okiku and this time it's more a background type of PV

it's quite light in the aerial side of things

as it is not only monochrome but also monoshot!

It's indeed making a focus on a cloudy blue sky.

As usual you have the lyrics and credits inserted in the PV

It's quite in line with what was done before, but the setting is more relax, softer and sweeter

Also released in 2014, the title means "Plus Boy"

It's the exact opposite of No Title, as the rhythm is very nervous, with a high BPM

with crazyass lyrics

The lyrics are written from a boy's POV and make a focus on Kagamine Ren

The most known male Vocaloid

See, Rin and Ren? Yeah, that's boy here

Well, okay but now you know

It's quite an Ero song and it talks about Ren having hishormones on fire

He's hitting puberty quite hard

So basically the theme is : Schoolboy's hormones and how to deal with it (or not)

As mentioned, the melody is more Eurobeat this time, very catchy, very lively

there are 2 version of it as well: one with Reol's voice and one with Ren's voice

and to reflect the conflict of emotions, the speech delivery is quite quick and speedy

and tells the story of this guy trying to focus on his study but ends up distracted by all the pretty girls around him

Because Yes! Puberty is all about boobs and miniskirts activating your blood circulation...down under!

Visually it looks more like an anime

Lots of colours and animation, it's starring other Vocaloid such as Miku or Luka who are in the same school

but it's also featuring some otaku-ish dance!

I love the choreo it looks like a lot of fun but man it must be so exhausting!

So you can't really see backdancers here but more silhouettes dancing, in the style of Just Dance

All this package, to me, makes + Danshi one unforgettable Reol's song

It might not be your favourite song but it's definitely one you'll enjoy

There you go! I hope you enjoyed this video

Please give it a thumbs up and share it if you liked it

Let me know in the comments if you know REOL, what are your favourite songs

and if you'd like me to tell you more about Vocaloid for example

Always available on TW, FB, IG, all links are in the description

along with the link to REOL's official Youtube channel

If you missed last week's video, it's right here

Go check it and let me know your thoughts

That's it for me this week, see you soon!
