Waching daily Sep 24 2017

It's been a long time since Mike Myers took us on a groovy journey through time and espionage

with his Austin Powers franchise, a three-film romp that featured a star-studded cast of

past and future celebrities.

In the decades since, some of these actors have hung onto their mojo, while others are

resting on their laurels.

Here's a look back at where the cast was before the films, and where they are now.

Mike Myers

Before he played Austin Powers, Dr. Evil, and the endlessly hungry Fat Bastard, Mike

Myers played a slew of characters during his six-year run on Saturday Night Live — including

metalhead Wayne Campbell, who of course appeared in his own feature film franchise.

Once the Austin Powers trilogy ended, Myers went on to voice the beloved title character

in the Shrek franchise.

But sadly, his other work wasn't as well-received; 2008's The Love Guru won a terrible trifecta

of Razzie Awards for Worst Actor, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Picture—plus a nomination for

Myers for Worst Actor of the Decade.

"Ouch baby, very ouch."

Still, Myers has left his mark on Hollywood: his Walk of Fame star was unveiled in 2002,

and in his home country of Canada, he's a national hero with his own commemorative stamp.

And if you're more likely to see him at a Toronto Maple Leafs game than on the big screen

these days, it might be because the Austin Powers and Shrek franchises combined made

him even wealthier than Dr. Evil.

Elizabeth Hurley

This English actress is probably best known for her role as Vanessa Kensington in the

first two Austin Powers films, but those are just a pair of entries in a lengthy filmography

that includes movies like Rowing with the Wind and Bedazzled, where she plays a smoking

hot devil.

And offscreen, Hurley is famous in her own right for her modeling work — and by association

for her 13-year relationship with Hugh Grant, standing by him during the 1995 scandal in

which Grant after being caught with a Hollywood prostitute.

"I did a bad thing, and there you have it."

These days, Hurley is flying solo and staying busy — running a beachwear company and playing

Queen Helena on the E! television series The Royals.

Michael York

Long before Austin Powers hit theaters, the English actor who plays Basil Exposition was

a veteran of stage and screen since the mid-1960s, starring in films like The Taming of the Shrew

and Romeo and Juliet, and on Broadway in the original production of Tennessee Williams'

Out Cry.

And don't even get us started on his television credits.

York reprised his role for all three Austin Powers films, but since 2010, the actor has

rarely been seen onscreen — and has been undergoing treatment for amyloidosis, a rare

medical condition caused by the abnormal production of insoluble proteins in the body.

Mimi Rogers

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is merely a side note on the resume of this

actress, producer and competitive poker player, who famously starred in the 1991 religious

drama The Rapture.

After the first Austin Powers movie, Rogers went on to appear in films like Lost in Space

and Ginger Snaps, and on popular television shows including The X-Files and Mad Men.

Robert Wagner

Long before he starred as Dr. Evil's right-hand man, Robert Wagner was one of the hardest

working actors in Hollywood.

"Who does number two work for?"

Who does number two work for?

Pretty much everyone!

Wagner's starring roles include TV shows like It Takes a Thief, Switch, and Hart to Hart

— and in the twenty-first century, you could find him on Two and a Half Men and NCIS.

But Wagner might be most famous for his role in one of classic Hollywood's biggest tragedies.

In 1981, Wagner's Oscar-nominated wife Natalie Wood drowned while sailing off the coast of

California with Wagner and actor Christopher Walken.

Wood's death was ruled an accident, but lingering questions about the possibility of foul play

resulted in the investigation being re-opened in 2013, with the Los Angeles coroner's office

amending the actress' cause of death to include "undetermined factors".

The decision to reopen the investigation was supported by Wagner, who's still mourning

his wife's death more than thirty years later.

"I don't think you ever overcome it - and why should you?"

Seth Green

After he played Dr. Evil's son Scott in all three Austin Powers movies, Hollywood was

only too happy to throw a frickin' bone to Seth Green.

Twenty years after he refused to hug his evil dad onscreen, Green has found massive success

as the creator (and producer, writer, director, and main vocal talent) of Adult Swim's stop-motion

sketch comedy show Robot Chicken.

Green was also a staple of comedies like Can't Hardly Wait and Without a Paddle, and he's

been heard but not seen as the voice of Family Guy's Chris Griffin.

"Stop it!"

"Ahhh!"

"My hat!"

"Haha.

Wear it NOW!"

And with various prestigious awards under his belt for his work on Robot Chicken, this

is one Austin Powers star who hasn't lost his mojo since 1997.

Mindy Sterling

Although Sterling got her start playing with puppets on the children's TV series Dusty's

Treehouse, it's her role as Dr. Evil's associate Frau Farbissina where she truly made her mark

on Hollywood's hearts… and eardrums.

"SCOTT!"

So you probably won't recognize Sterling from anywhere else—unless you watch TV with your

kids.

Despite her street cred as Evil's girl Friday, the actress is a popular casting pick on Disney,

Nickelodeon, and other children's networks, where her comedy credentials definitely make

her well-suited for family-friendly roles.

Will Ferrell

After notching his big-screen breakthrough in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me,

Mike Myers' fellow SNL veteran became a comedy star in his own right, bringing laughs in

films like Old School, Anchorman, and Talladega Nights.

"Here's the deal, I'm the best there is, plain and simple…

I mean, I wake up in the morning and I p-ss excellence."

Ferrell also had one of the most memorable runs in Saturday Night Live history, where

he became famous for impersonating famous figures like George W. Bush, Cubs announcer

Harry Caray, and Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek.

Nowadays, he's still making movies — and making fun of himself, often to earn money

for charitable causes, as with his "10 Major League Baseball Teams in One Day" stunt from

2015.

Heather Graham

Way before she played Felicity Shagwell in the Austin Powers sequel, Heather Graham broke

out in Hollywood in the late 1980s with License to Drive, followed by Twin Peaks and Boogie

Nights.

And after traveling back to 1969 for The Spy Who Shagged Me, Graham didn't slow down

After playing Felicity Shagwell, Graham went on to star in films like Committed, Say It

Isn't So, and the Hangover series, and more recently, she's been featured in recurring

roles on series like Showtime's Californication and Netflix's Flaked.

"I'm pretty enough to be on TV, right?"

Beyoncé

Unless you've been living under a rock, this is one Austin Powers alumna who needs no introduction.

The 22-time Grammy Award winner is one of America's Top 50 Richest Self-Made Women,

with more than 100 million records sold worldwide — and that's just her solo career.

But the majority of Beyoncé's success came after she played the leading lady Foxxy Cleopatra

in Austin Powers in Goldmember, even if she was already well on her way to superstardom

by then as the lead singer of Destiny's Child.

Michael Caine

This icon of the British screen has been acting since the 1950s, and he was an Oscar nominee

long before he played Austin Powers' father in Goldmember.

Caine worked steadily throughout the 1970s and 80s, starring in films like Get Carter

and Woody Allen's Hannah and Her Sisters, for which he earned the first of two Academy

Awards for Best Supporting Actor.

But since he showed the world where Austin got his groove, Caine is probably best known

for his work with director Christopher Nolan — particularly in his role as Alfred Pennyworth

in the Dark Knight trilogy, where, as Nolan's favorite cast member, he had all the best

lines.

"Some men just want to watch the world burn."

Verne Troyer

Though he's best known for playing the miniature clone of Dr. Evil, Verne Troyer has a big

presence in Hollywood.

The 2 feet 8 inch tall actor has brought his unique stature to films like Pinocchio's Revenge

and Mighty Joe Young — and he was the first to play Griphook the goblin in Harry Potter

and the Sorcerer's Stone, though he was replaced in later films by fellow actor and friend

Warwick Davis.

Troyer also maintains an active social media presence, where he's recently admitted to

battling alcohol addiction and thanked his fans for their support.

Fred Savage

"So you're the…

MO…

MO...

Apart from this bit as a spy with a prominent mole in Goldmember, there's one role that

will follow Fred Savage for the rest of his life.

Of course, we're talking about The Wonder Years, where the young actor earned two Golden

Globe nominations and two Emmy nominations for playing the lead role of Kevin Arnold

— although yes, that's also him in The Princess Bride, giving the stink-eye to all things

romantic:

"Is this a kissing book?"

After his role in the Austin Powers franchise, Savage moved on mostly to voice acting, with

appearances on Family Guy, Kim Possible, and BoJack Horseman, and he's kept busy behind

the camera as a TV director.

But if you're dying to see his face onscreen — without that mole in the way — he's

also getting back into acting, with starring roles in both seasons of The Grinder and the

Netflix series Friends from College.

Weekly Entertainment Wrap Up #38 [CC] - Duration: 4:30.

Hi, YouTube, it's Kathy, and this is my Weekly Entertainment Wrap Up for September 17th to 23rd.

This week I read 2 books, I watched 4 tv shows, and I listened to 1 book.

The first book this week was recommended by Sanne at Books and Quills for the Space Readathon,

and that was Interstellar Cinderella by Deborah Underwood with art by Meg Hunt.

Yes, this is a children's picture book, and, yes, I highly recommend it.

It is an interesting take on the Cinderella story, the illustrations are adorable, and

I loved the twist at the end.

If my nieces and nephews weren't across the country, I'd read this to them all the time.

It is also written in rhyme, which adds to the fun.

This week I also read A Closed and CommonOrbit by Becky Chambers, which is the second in the Wayfarers series.

This book follows a couple of the minor characters from A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, and

one out of the two of them is a major spoiler for the first book, so I'm just not gonna say who it is.

In any case, it has a lot of the same interspecies interaction that I enjoyed from the first

book, as well as interesting takes on ethics and life.

I know some people tend to get scared about the second book in a series when the first

one was absolutely glorious, but I feel like this one held up.

The third in this series comes out next June, and will be called Record of a Spaceborn Few.

I think the plan is for a trilogy, but I really hope she reconsiders and just keeps writing

in this universe forever.

If someone knows of a petition, I'd sign it.

But, actually, Becky Chambers, do what you want.

I'm just really enjoying your work.

This week, we finished the seventh season of The Walking Dead before my friend abandoned

me to wander around Europe.

Again.

Not like I am jealous of his Swiss passport or anything.

The non-linear timeline of the show, especially in the final episode of this season, really helps

keep the audience on their toes.

I found that it sometimes directs you to believe one thing is going to happen, and then we

kept coming up with hopes.

There were also sequences that you had to decide if they were dreams or flashbacks,

and I felt it was a powerful end to the season.

I'm also really glad that seventh season landed on Canadian Netflix before Chad ran

away to Europe, because otherwise it would just be sitting there, waiting for us to watch

it, for whenever he stumbles home, which could be months.

This week the Tuesday night dinner club watched episodes 4 to 7 of Riverdale, and it would

be really great of the majority of the parents in this show could stop being absolutely terrible.

Affairs, substance abuse, just being plain evil, and antiquated notions of

"what will the neighbours think?"

Seriously, just stop.

I really hope that the parent with substance abuse issues is able to get help and stay

clean, because at least their problem isn't that they're just straight up evil; that, I imagine,

is a trait that won't go away.

This week on Downton Abbey, we're in 1924 and all sorts of secrets are flying around.

We learn about Baxter's secret that is keeping her under Barrow's thumb.

We know he has a secret, but don't quite know the scope of it yet.

Secrets that we have assumed about Bates have come into question, Edith has a monumental

secret she's keeping from the family, as does Mary.

Someone from downstairs has been dismissed due to a secret that would have been better

left unanswered.

This season in particular just has the potential to explode.

This week I watched the third season, and first 4 episodes of the fourth season of Orphan Black.

I absolutely love the work of the lead actress, and it is so difficult to not spoil the

reason why this show is amazing to those who haven't seen it before.

It's also annoying that the show has those "next time on Orphan Black" clips at the

end of the episodes, which totally spoiled the reason for Tatiana Maslany being

so busy on the show for me, but whatever.

I've grown so attached to these characters, and have already petitioned my library to

purchase the 5th season of the show.

I'm really hoping season 4 doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but I will find out in 6 episodes.

This week I listened to Waking Gods by Sylvain Neuvel, which is the second book in The Themis Files.

The different characters in this audiobook have different voice actors, and it is just

delightful listening.

I feel like a lot of this week has been me right in the middle of things - either in

the middle of book series or in the middle of tv series, and I'm trying to be engaging

about the content without spoilers.

It's difficult.

A lot happens in this book, to the point where if you skipped from the first book to the

third book, you would have a very hard time grasping what you missed in the second book.

If you like sci-fi and you haven't picked up this series, please do.

Even if you don't think you like sci-fi, I think you might like this series.

Only Human, the third and final book of this trilogy, comes out next May, which mean I'm in the

same boat with this one as I am with the Wayfarer series.

And the Illuminae Files series, for that matter.

Next year will see the conclusion of all three of these amazing sci-fi series, and although

I am sad they'll be ending, I'm excited to see what will happen in each of these worlds.

That's it for this week.

If you've read, watched, or listened to any of these, let me know about it

down in the comments below.

On the way down to the comments, if you could hit that Subscribe button, that

would be very nice of you.

You can also like and share this as you see fit, and I will see you very soon. Bye!

USS Enterprise launched - 9/24/1970 - Duration: 1:23.

Today in military history, 1960, the first nuclear powered

aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise, was launched.

Enterprise was meant to be a class of six carriers,

but rising costs prevented the other five

from being laid down.

The big E was the longest Naval vessel ever built,

the only carrier to have more than two nuclear reactors,

and the only carrier with four rudders.

She truly was in a class by herself.

The Enterprise served in the US Navy for some 55 years.

In that time she was at the forefront of American

military history, she tracked John Glenn's Friendship 7

capsule as it returned to Earth, participated

in the blockade of Cuba during the Cuban missile crisis,

sailed around the world in Operation Sea Orbit,

deployed to Vietnam, Korea, and helped evacuate

Saigon as it fell to the North Vietnamese.

After Vietnam, aircraft from Enterprise struck

Iranian frigates in Operation Praying Mantis,

Enforced no-fly zones in Bosnia and Iraq,

and in the days after September 11th,

moved without orders into the waters near

the Persian Gulf, outrunning her escorts,

ready to take any action necessary.

She was even around to support Operation Iraqi Freedom.

When she was finally decommissioned in 2012,

she was the third oldest ship in the fleet,

after the USS Constitution and USS Pueblo.

#نردNRD ولاتسأل طبيب 107 - #ديتوكس - Duration: 7:31.

Ask A Doctor No More

Although every organ has its unique function

yet all these organs are very much connected to one another

failure of one of the vital organs (such as the heart, lung, liver or kidney)

can lead to the failure of all others subsequently

That is why it is very important to keep our organs healthy for a better living

One problem is that the concept of organ failure is not very well understood

which allows misconceptions to spread about how to maintain our organs' health

So, today we will discuss the concept of organ failure and how to maintain our organs in good health

The most common form of organ failure, is chronic organ failure

Organs - specially if not well cared for - start to lose its function over many many years

It is not very evident at the early stages. Mainly only discovered through medical tests

the organ suffers some "dysfunction" but not severe enough to cause major trouble

If this progresses, at some point the dysfunction will progress into "failure"

signs of failure becomes evident on the patient affecting his health significantly

This is chronic organ failure / End stage disease

At this point the patient needs something to take over the function of the organ

for example: dialysis for patients with renal failure or organ transplantation

It remains impossible -until this time - to reverse chronic organ failure (end stage disease).

trials and research continue to try and find remedies to reverse this process.. yet none exist so far

Any who claims possessing a remedy that does otherwise, know that they they are NOT being honest

What are the causes that lead to organ failure?

Causes vary from one organ / system to the other for sure

some causes we cannot change, like the process of aging

But others we can control and change

I don't plan to start giving you an exhaustive list of causes. This will be boring and probably counterproductive

I will, however, mention the most important causes of organ failure. some affect more that one organ/system

Smoking.. Obesity.. Alcohol.. High blood pressure.. Diabetes.. Hepatitis B and C.. Overuse of medications and supplements

And so, having healthy eating and drinking habits, regular exercise, ensuring clean instrument use in clinics / shops, are the best things we can do for our organs

Having good blood pressure and sugar control is also very important to reach the same goal

There is a second type of organ failure

It is called acute organ failure

The organ is usually functioning well, but then stops functioning after taking a big hit

Signs of failure appear in the span of hours to days

Usually this "big hit" is due to a toxic material that was over the capacity of the organ to handle it

This type of organ failure can be reversible, and the organ can recover

To achieve that, immediate medical attention is necessary to support the organ during this critical stage

This leads me to a topic that has been gaining popularity

which is the concept of cleansing the body organs and de-detoxifying them

Usually these "mixes" are promoted for liver or kidney cleansing.. and sometimes for the colon

To start off: this concept scientifically wrong and can cause harm without much benefit

Let me explain

The liver and the kidneys have tremendous capacity to clean the body of toxins, they continuously work

They don't get read of toxins by storing them. but rather toxins are broken apart and excreted out

And so, these organs don't need "detoxification" or "cleansing"

Also, because of these organs our bodies don't usually store toxins

What is even more problematic, is that these herbal mixes can -themselves- cause organ failure

because they just add more work to your organs.

and if the organs are not capable of dealing with it or if they suffer some dysfunction, it becomes a big problem

I would like to share with you information gathered from (pubmed)

For those who don't know what is (pubmed), it is like the google of medical and health related research

I found many cases of organ failure induced by herbal remedies (used for cleansing or weight loss .. etc)

This was from many many countries

On the other hand, I was not able to find a single article

that describes a successful detoxification of the body

by measuring a certain "toxin" level before and after a herbal/detox program

This also extends to the topic of colon cleansing and detoxification

It is not a surprise that anyone will feel better after emptying their colon

But this does not mean that this has helped in reducing toxin load "as advertised"

On the contrary, the colon is covered by "friendly" microorganisms that is important for its health

Colon cleansing procedures disrupts the normal microbial environment and can lead to serious health complications

Drawing a cheerfully pink colon gives you the impression that this certainly a good idea. while it is not!

The colon needs its microorganisms for its own health

And also, they don't tell you that it is not take more than a day or two before it returns to the way it was

These images are not scientific but certainly good for business advertisement

Advertisements for detoxification products are many

and there will always be newer products and newer ways

Your understanding and your awareness of the scientific and medical facts protects you against fraud

and this will also protect from unnecessary potential harm to your body/health

It is true that many people used similar products and were not harmed

But that is simply because we were blessed to have organs that can handle a lot of what is thrown at them

Protecting us from harm around the clock

Don't be the one who (instead of appreciating this) start giving them a lot of unnecessary work to do

If you really want to keep your organs healthy and use a "detox" program

Then use this one!

It is certainly the best

Be conscious

I hope you found this episode useful and entertaining

I always welcome suggestions and comments

through my social media accounts

Good bye

Olicity Is Back CONFIRMED? Oliver And Felicity MAJOR Tease!!! - Arrow Season 6 - Duration: 6:39.

season 1 for sure and then season 5 and then it's season 2

and then season three and that's it what is good YouTube Warstu

here with a video on arrow season 6 as you can tell from the clip I play before

Stephen Amell the main star of arrow at the last heroes and villains fan fest I

think it was in America before the DC TV shows returns so it's the last one he

said they enjoyed every season of arrow apart from the olicity eccentric heavy

season which you see the voice he didn't even mention it's season 4 that's quite

understandable seeing as this starts the season where Black Canary played by Kate

Cassidy was killed off and we had all the damian darhk-- a magical stuff and

that's not really needed an arrow to be honest because it's more of a dark

gritty savage kind of program it was also the lowest View season in terms of

TV ratings in terms of people who actually tuned in so it's understandable

why he didn't like it so within our season 5 we were given a Walking Dead

style dramatic ending with the explosion on the a new thanks to Prometheus and

all of his previous choices throughout his five-year journey that led him to at

mon-sol spoiler warning guys if you don't want to be ruined for some

potential spoilers you can check out the video now you've been warned so arrow

isn't like The Walking Dead because if you watch The Walking Dead they didn't

ruin who was killed or who survived arrow has basically revealed everyone

who survived by telling us who's gonna be season regulars for season 6 before

the season comes back and also the cover for the fall show crossover crisis on

Earth X poster confirms who is going to survive for arrow for general viewers

we're not talking about people who use Twitter who look at behind the scene

things we're talking about general people who just watched arrow it ends

and they watch it when it comes back we're talking about in general people so

they have basically ruined that the big who doesn't die who does

die scenario which is a shame for general veers viewers so many olicity

fans have thought since episode 520 and ernie 'the which was actually one of the

lowest rated TV ratings episodes of the whole season so clearly people don't

like olessa t in an arrow is prominent from

season four raisins being so long that Oliver Felicity will be getting back

together at some point TV producers know all the stats going by eros ease before

and 520 that generally people don't like olicity it's just a small number of

people I personally know people who didn't watch the episode because from

the trailer you just seen that was centric around a list see and it wasn't

needed so they've done this before and it didn't work in my opinion it just

doesn't feel natural did have no chemistry together it's just ridiculous

and it takes away from a narrative of the actual story which is about Oliver

and the Green Arrow Felicity couldn't be with Oliver because

he lied to her about having the willy of the his son and then if she broke up

with him because he could be with her and she could be with him because he's

Green Arrow at the same time great nas you there so massive spoiler Warren here

guys this will ruin something technically so new images have come from

behind the scenes apparently from episode 7 which i think is to thank

given a episode and it looks like oliver and felicity AKA olessa t mites from the

images you can see them how in hands though felicity does not have a ring on

her left finger or her right finger or have right hand or left hang felicity

does have her arm around oliver and it looks like they are really close and it

looks like they are trying to play happy families and looks like felicity is

trying to be William's mother I don't know if William's mother survives but it

looks like they're trying to play happy families these are the assumptions you

can make for them images which are rather interesting if this is ever going

to work in in terms of them getting back together

Felicity needs to step away from tomorrow she

need to stop being overwatch and so behind this Kurtis could do the job if

not better Curtis could definitely do that job so it's rumored that she's

going to get her own business in season six own company and if this was the case

potentially it could help their relationship because she can't be in

team arrow if they're going to be the infamous olicity but then again at the

same time guys Oliver could easily get with back siren and black Canary and it

would be more comic-book accurate and it would make a lot more sense I mean from

the times we've seen Oliver with Dinah Drake they've got more chemistry and she

and all of his definitely got more chemistry with Katie Cassidy black sari

and van he has got with Felicity that's just factual you can watch it and you

can make the assumptions but guys as we know history will repeat itself and they

won't even if they do get back together it won't last for very long because

let's be honest guys it never works between them to long term so guys do you

think they're going to get back together there was a massive theory going around

that oh my god Oliver and Felicity we're gonna get married during the crossover

but as it was crushed this massive theory was crushed and the

olessa T fandom kind of went quiet and didn't say anything about this potential

Atlas T wedding because if you've seen it spoiler whether it's Barry Allen iris

West getting married there in the synopsis for thee just set up the

crossover that there's going to be a wedding and everyone's going to come to

their wedding and that was set up the crossover so are you happy about the

potential of Oliver and Felicity getting back together do you like it do you

dislike it a let's have a conversation down below in the comments section
