Samhain Is Coming 3 Sacred Signs We Are Getting Closer

By consciousreminder

Our ancestors didnt need a calendar to tell them Samhain was getting close they

could read the signs.

People have been reading signs in the wider world for at least as long as weve been

human. This requires no great psychic skills anyone can do it, if you pay close attention

over a long period of time. Many things that happen regularly happen in a particular order,

and while correlation is not causation its good enough for predictive purposes.

Weve lost much of the wisdom and lore of our pre-Christian ancestors, and in any case

we live in a very different world. But even in here in urban and suburban North America,

there are signs that let us know its getting close to Samhain.

For any readers who are new to Paganism, Samhain is pronounced SOW-en its an Old

Irish word meaning summers end. Its not pronounced SAM-hane and there never

was a Samhane Lord of the Dead thats a early modern literary error that was sensationalized

by evangelical scaremongers.

In contemporary Paganism, its the final harvest festival, celebrated on October 31.

Its a time to remember our ancestors and a time to contemplate death and what comes

afterward.

Some of the signs we can look for that Samhain is getting close are deep, serious, and spiritual

as well.

Now here are three serious signs Samhain is getting close.

1. The Dark Half is growing.

The days have been shorter than the nights since the Autumn Equinox two weeks ago. Now

the change is evident: the sun is low enough to be in your eyes on your drive home, its

rising further and further south every day, and the temperatures are dropping. My evening

prayers, which were said in bright sunlight just a few weeks ago, are now said in shadows.

Before long theyll be done in artificial light. Summers End is getting close, even

here in Texas.

In an agricultural society this would be a signal that work is slowing down. Instead,

were gearing up for the holiday season. But our reading of the signs reminds us there

will eventually come a time when our work is no more. What is hidden away causes fear

and anxiety lets bring Death out into the open and explore the great transition

we will all someday make.

2. The Veil Between the Worlds grows thin.

Samhain is the season when the world of the living and the world of the Gods and ancestors

draw near, and sometimes overlap. The Veil between them becomes thin and porous, and

even those of us who arent particularly skilled at such things can hear, see, and

experience the Otherworld.

Are your dreams more vivid and more meaningful, even if theyre as elusive as always come

morning? Is your intuition sharper, your inexplicable feelings you should do this or must not do

that stronger? Are your meditations clearer and your sense of the presence of the land

spirits more certain? Samhain is getting close.

Perhaps you have trouble seeing these signs. Thats not surprising you probably have

trouble recognizing subtle changes in weather, vegetation, and animal behavior too. We arent

taught these things any more, and those of us are particularly adept at them are told

were imagining things or that it doesnt make any difference.

Pay attention to your dreams and intuitions. Take notes and review them from time to time.

Things that happen regularly usually happen in a particular order and in particular patterns.

You wont become skilled in a week or a month or maybe even a year, but with diligent

practice, eventually youll be able to read these signs as well as you can read the more

obvious and silly ones.

3. Our ancestors draw near.

Perhaps after death we live on in the Otherworld. Perhaps were reincarnated into another

body. Perhaps the essence of who we are merges into the Universe, just as our bodies return

to the Earth from whence they came. I have my favorite theories, but in the end, we dont

know.

But this we do know: that which is remembered lives.

At Samhain we remember our ancestors. We remember our grandmothers and grandfathers, our ancestors

we knew in life or that we know from the stories told about them. We remember our ancestors

of spirit, the teachers and friends who influenced our lives even though we do not share their

blood. We remember, as best we can, those ancestors we never knew but whose deeds form

a foundation on which we build our lives.

We remember and they draw near, and we experience their presence once again.

Samhain is coming. The calendar says so and so do the signs. May your observances and

celebrations be powerful and blessed.

10 Dumbest Reasons People Have Ever Been Fired - Duration: 7:01.

• Who got himself fired for saving a customer's life?

Who lost her job after 10 years just for being attractive?

From dumb employees to terrible bosses, we look at 10 of the dumbest reasons people were

fired from their jobs?

10 – Threatening a Starbucks • A police officer tasked with checking

in on a robbery at Starbucks apparently didn't think one robbery was enough for them.

• Upon responding to the call, the officer demanded free coffee.

• When he was turned down, he may have suggested that the police would take a little longer

to respond to the next call.

• Obviously, the police aren't the mafia, and they're not supposed to ask for protection

money.

So THAT officer was promptly relieved of his badge.

9 – Bathing in the Work Sink • Many of these are going to be someone

doing something totally idiotic, then posting it online for everyone – including their

bosses – to see.

• This one is no different.

A trio of girls at a KFC decided it would be fun to take a picture of themselves taking

a bath together.

• At work.

In the sink.

The dishwashing sink.

• They were let go for health code violations, because a work sink is not a hot tub.

8 – Saving Someone's Life • Juan Canales was working as a waiter in

Fort Lauderdale when he noticed a woman outside getting car jacked by a man with a knife.

• He immediately ran outside, wrestled the man to the ground, and saved the woman from

having her car stolen, or worse.

• Hours later, he was fired.

The restaurant's manager wasn't happy about the publicity, so he fired the heroic

father of three.

• No worries, though.

Canales had job offers pour in after his story got out.

7 – Peeing in the Elevator • This has actually happened more than once.

Elevators, it turns out, are very popular places to urinate.

• In 2007, IRS contractor Michael Hicks was charged with damaging government property,

because he decided he liked relieving himself in the IRS office's freight elevator, rather

than the bathroom.

• In 2004, a sheriff's deputy in Florida was fired for peeing in a public elevator

and also some nearby bushes.

6 – Sexting a 14-Year-Old • Hey, you know what you're really not

supposed to do when you're a teacher at a high school?

• Send nudes to your students.

Under ANY circumstances.

• But that's what Beth Ann Chester did with her 14-year old student.

And then she had sex with him in her car.

• She was fired, and obviously sent to jail, much to the surprise and dismay of her husband.

5 – Casual Racism • Hot tip: If you're working as a bartender

in Chicago, you might have to serve people who look differently from you.

• It's a diverse city full of many different kinds of people.

You should probably try to be okay with that.

• Or you can do what Jessica Elizabeth did.

She posted a string of comments on your Facebook page calling a certain race of people THAT

YOU ARE SERVING things like, "dirty, ignorant, apes, animals, and not fully developed."

That's on top of the standard racial slurs.

• Now she's fired, AND everybody knows she's an unapologetic racist.

4 – Accidentally Killing Someone in a Contest • In 2007, people would do just about anything

to get their hands on a Nintendo Wii.

Knowing this, a radio show in Sacramento, California held a contest called "Hold your

Wee for a Wii."

• The game was simple enough – see who can drink the most water without going to

the bathroom.

• Jennifer Strange finished in second place in the contest, and immediately complained

of not feeling well.

• The hosts of the show joked and made light of the situation, despite the fact that a

registered nurse called in beforehand and warned them that the contestants could die

from water intoxication.

• The next day, Jennifer Strange was found dead in her home.

The cause of death?

You guessed it – water intoxication.

• In response, the show was cancelled, and everybody involved with it was fired – a

total of 10 people.

3 – Sleeping at a Customer's House • Sleeping on the job is one of the most

classic forms of slacking off.

It's not at all unusual to catch a cat nap at a desk, or in a meeting, or wherever else.

• Of course, that's mostly for people who have office jobs.

Cable installers?

They don't have office jobs, and they don't have desks and office chairs to fall asleep

in.

• So if they're going to fall asleep on the job, they'd probably just fall asleep

in the truck, right?

• Well, sometimes.

Other times they might just crash wherever they end up.

Like the couch of the person they're installing cable for.

• There are actually multiple documented cases of this, because cable installers are

usually overworked and tired.

But falling asleep on a customer's couch will get you both fired and made fun of on

the internet.

2 – Forgetting About Ash Wednesday • Niklaus Leuenberger was in charge of the

New York Palace Hotel, a 55-story luxury apartment for the super-rich.

• That is, until he forgot – or just didn't care – that it was Ash Wednesday.

• Upon seeing one of his Catholic employees observing the religious holiday, Leuenberger

eloquently told him to "wipe that fucking shit off your face."

• His boss flew all the way from London to fire him in person for that one.

1 – Being Too Hot • Melissa Nelson had a good job as a dental

assistant, and she was good at it.

• In fact, her employee record was basically spotless.

She was punctual, professional, skilled, basically a model employee in every way.

• So why did she end up fired?

• Well, James Knight, the dentist she worked for, just found it too difficult to be around

her and not have sex with her.

• Of course, Melissa didn't WANT to have sex with her boss.

She just showed up to work and brushed off some light sexual harassment, and did her

job.

• But that wasn't good enough.

Knight literally fired his assistant for being too attractive.

After 10 years of working together.

And Iowa courts deemed that totally okay.

How To Overcome Objections - Duration: 2:49.

so YouTube welcome to episode 4 daily inspiration to overcome its episode 4

it's called how to overcome objections it's doing a quick video objections are

hard I know they are really you know people think of objections as you know

failures you think about it objections aren't failures at all

basically what objections are you can think of it as earning the Egyptian's

you can think of it as objections to practice your craft you can just think

of it as really focus on what you're doing think about this someone is trying

to sell something right say when someone objects for someone's that they're

trying to get someone to buy or what have you they're going through the right

processes of you know contacting the person being professional things like

that the prospect still says no person keeps going to them keeps going to them

or you know goes to everyone else and they keep getting knows one thing that a

mentor really told me about as far as like being able to sell and passing

through objections he was saying that really objections are you know a good

thing objections are you know something that people should look forward to and I

was I asked I was like why he was like because every no of course gets you

closer to it yes and not only that every note gets you stronger and stronger

overcome different objection types if you keep going and if you keep

practicing your sales techniques you know

persevering through objections you pretty much went through almost every

objection that you can think of and you can counteract that objection to get

more yeses and on top of that perseverance you know kills over any

kind of objection anyway the more you keep going the more you persevere you'll

start getting more yeses and less nose and less objection that's really just

something to think about sure having issues with objections or if you think

about giving up because of objection that's the worst thing to do because

objections are your best friend if you think about it

Haters | Young Adulthood Series | Spoken Word Poetry | By: Poetic Daisy - Duration: 1:28.

Haters

I wish someone told me that the haters never leave

You think you'd be able to breathe After high school, but there's always someone

with envy You may not form enemies

But if you strive for greatness, you'll be sure to find a hater

Someone who feels what you've accomplished is greater

Than them, but they can't let you enjoy your win

There will always be people so insecure within That they want to tear you down

Don't convince yourself that they won't be around

When you get older Wish someone told me that success is in the

eye of the beholder And when they behold your success with hate

They stop their own self from being great Because their mental state

Is so focused on your fate That they can't keep straight

The things going on in their own life They hold the knife

To their own network, burn the bridge that is their own

When all that needed to be shown Was love, support, and mutual respect

Wish someone reminded me to take time to reflect To be sure that I'm not a hater toward someone

else Wish someone told me being a hater is bad

for your health So much negative energy

But also wish I was reminded that positivity Always wins

And in the end They will pay

Maybe not today Or tomorrow, but their time will soon come

When everyone Sees them for the hater they really are.

The End.

Traffic school in Brazil ブラジルで運転免許を取るには。無免許運転の実態[Vlog#36] - Duration: 7:50.

Hi, how are you? it's Harumi.

I go to traffic school now in Brazil.

At first you need to do

aptitude test

to see if you're not crazy..

just like in Japan.

And eye exam..

If you are ok, then you have 45 hours of academic study.

After this you have a written test.

I passed it already.

Later there's simulator,

which I showed in another video.

That is simulator.

You have it for 5 hours then

you start training to drive which is for 20 hours.

And today I had a first training.

I went there.

The way of training here is a bit different from Japan.

I'm not sure if it's all the same in entire Japan but

the traffic school I went

had a space for us to train

and only after a couple of training there inside the school

we get out of the school to the city

to drive on public streets and highways

and drive at night.

But here, in Auto Escola, or traffic school,

doesn't have an area for us to train.

It's only a small building

and there's only one class room

to have a class for academic study, at least the school that I go.

So how do we practice?

We drive from school with teachers

and practice on the public streets

where doesn't have so many cars.

So we just go there

and start driving.

The final test as well, we do it on the public street.

It's nothing complicated.

We just have to go around..and that's it.

But driving here..well I've talked about this in other videos, too,

we drive manual cars,

not like Japan where you can choose manual or automatic,

here you have no choice.

You have to drive a manual car.

There're more manual cars in general

and if you don't learn it

you can't pass the test.

Even though I drove a manual car

when I got a licence in Japan

I did whole the process with an automatic car

then later I added a licence to drive a manual car

which I only needed 4 hours of training and test at the end.

So practically I've almost never driven a manual car

therefore I have to learn everything from zero now.

So today for the first time

I drove in the city in a manual car..

I actually could do it but..

in a manual car which I'm not used to

and in Portuguese

the teacher keeps warning me like

"Accelerator! Break! Clutch! 2nd, 3rd..!"

so it's so confusing..

"Turn the signal! to the right! left!"

"Slow down!"..so much information..

So I go like "what!?"

What do I have to do!?

Which pedal should I step on?

I get confused..

But driving itself

isn't too bad..cause I'm kinda used to.

I used to be driving a lot in the US.

They're left-hand drive, too

which is opposite to Japan.

But I'm more used to left-hand drive.

So I don't get that nervous when I just have to drive.

So..

I have 20 hours of driving practice

till December that I successfully could reserve..

The test..

it seems like I'll have to wait about 30 days..

because of the system..or too many people on the list...I don't know..

But we'll get into the holiday anyway..

so I'll probably have the test in January.

I'll just need to practice more..

and pass the exam

to get a Brazilian driver's licence.

I'll go for it.

Oh well, I remembered something

interesting..I guess.

When I did simulator

and today as well

before started training

I was asked by the teacher

if I already knew how to drive.

"Can you drive?"

That actually happened when I was doing academic classes

listening to conversations of other people in the class

they're talking like

"Well I've been driving for 20 years

but never had an opportunity to get a licence"

I heard the conversation like this but

I was thinking "what do you mean..?"

You're in a traffic school in order to get a driver's licence

but it seems like this person already drives..like everyday

having his own car..

The teacher is the one that asks you

if you already drives or not..

Well, in my case I already have 2 licences

in other countries.

But it's a rare case.

So basically everyone should be learning

because we don't have licences

and we're here to get them, isn't it?

But in Brazil

there're a lot of people driving without a licence..

And the teacher today was saying

that Brazil has a lot of people who don't know how to read and write

so you know you need to know them

in order to take a written test

so it's also because of that, the reason why

there're so many people driving without a licence.

It's very interesting to me..

You're going to get a licence then

your teacher asks you if you know how to drive.

At first I didn't get the question..

why they're asking such a question..because we shouldn't know, right?

But..earlier I was saying

that I used to be driving in the US.

There also has a different system.

Where I lived was California,

and there,

it's not obligated

to go to traffic school.

So you just take a written test,

and when you pass the test you already get a pre-licence.

Then you practice driving on your own

on the street then on the day of the driving test

you bring your car to take the test.

In that point, here in Brazil

there're traffic schools and they have cars for you

to practice for the test.

So I'll have to do it, too.

I think that's all for today.

I'll talk more in the process

if I notice something interesting to share with you guys.

I want to make more videos

regarding to this subject..driving..

so..please wish me luck not to have an accident..

Ok, then. See you!
