Guru of the world ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰੂਨਿਹਚਲ ਨੀਉ ਧਰਾਈਓਨੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚਖੰਡ ਸਮੇਉ। The steadfast foundation of the abode of truth in the form of holy congregation was laid thoughtfully (by Guru Na-nak Dev) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੰਥੁ ਚਲਾਇਓਨੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਅਮੇਉ। and he promulgated gurmukh-panth (Sikhism) which is ocean of infinite pleasures. ਸਚਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਉ। There, true word is practised which is unapproachable, imperceptible and mystical. ਚਹੁ ਵਰਨਾ ਉਪਦੇਸਦਾ ਛਿਅ ਦਰਸਨ ਸਭਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਉ। That abode of truth preaches to all the four varnas and all the six philosophies (of Indian origin) remain absorbed in its service. ਮਿਠਾ ਬੋਲਣੁ ਨਿਵ ਚਲਣੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਅਰਥੇਉ। Gurmukhs (there) speak sweetly, move humbly and are seekers of devotion. ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਆਦੇਸੁ ਹੈ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਤਿ ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਉ। Salutations are due to that primal Lord who is undestructible, undeceivable and unending. ਜਗਤੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਉ ॥੨॥ Guru Nanak is the enlightener (Guru) of the entire world.
