THE POWER OF REIKI � EXPLAINED BY POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW AT HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL

Below is a clip from an interview we recently conducted with Dr. Natalie Leigh Trent, a

Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health,

where she investigates the mind-body practices of yoga and mindfulness for health and wellbeing.

She obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 2006 and her

Doctorate in neuroscience from Queen�s University in 2012.

In this part of the interview, we discuss the ancient healing art of Reiki, a healing

modality that has been practiced and taught around the world for thousands of years. As

Dr. Trent shares in the interview, it�s a relatively new field of science and medicine

that�s continually growing, with approximately 80 studies that�ve been published so far.

With scientific research now emerging attesting to the ability of human thoughts, emotions,

and intentions to affect the physical material world, an increasing number of scientists,

and quantum physicists in particular, are stressing the importance of studying factors

associated with consciousness and its relation to our physical world. One of these factors

is human intention.

Reiki essentially uses human intention to heal another person�s ailments. Practitioners

usually place their hands on the patient in order to channel energy into them by means

of touch. It can be roughly defined as using compassionate mental action and physical touch,

energy healing, shamanic healing, nonlocal healing, or quantum touch.

The popularity of this practice is exemplified by the fact that, as of 2000, there were more

�distant healers� in the United Kingdom than therapists practicing any other form

of complementary or alternative medicine, and the same goes for the United States. (Barnes

How Reiki Actually Works (The Science Part)

Dr. Trent points out how further scientific study in this field has been hindered by a

lack of funding. This isn�t really surprising, since the medical industry, as Arnold Seymour

Relman once said, has been �bought by the pharmaceutical industry.� Dr. Trent also

discusses the science behind this practice. She is one of the leading academics bringing

more credibility to this treatment.

In this video, I'm going to be sharing with you how to get acne, or how to get pimples,

or how to give yourself acne on purpose, or how to give yourself pimples on purpose.

You're going to know how to get pimples, I guess is the main powerpoint slide in this

Why would you want to give yourself acne?

I'll tell you why because the lay-deeeeees dig it.

So I'm going to give you guys nine ways to give yourself acne.

You'll wake up looking like a less ugly version of Freddy Krueger.

get too famous Ill probably ignore you.

But right now, we're on the same level.

So, how to get pimples.

The first way is, eat lots of gluten.

You know those douche bags who are always like, "I'm gluten free man, I don't eat gluten

cause' I'm a better person than you."

They might actually be on to something this time: bread, cereals, bagels, potato chips,

all those foods have a crap ton of gluten.

Stuff your face with them until your face swolls up, swells up.

The second way to get acne is, eat a lot of sugary food okay.

This kind of ties back in to the first rule about not eating gluten.

Sugary foods like ice cream and soda, I want you to brush your teeth with soda okay.

Don't actually do that but, you get the point I'm making.

Drink a crap ton of soda.

Your parents are always saying, stay away from sugar!

I'm telling you to get on that sugro!

Get on that sucrose!

That fructose!

Eat lots of sugar is what I'm saying.

A third way to get acne, don't wash your face.

Whatever crap you've been motor-boating that day, leave it on your face.

All right, if you were sniffing the seat of a subway, whatever...whatever you're into,

just leave your face unwashed.

A fourth way to give yourself acne on purpose is, don't wash your pillow case.

This kind of ties back to the previous one where you're not washing your face.

If your pillow case has a bunch of crap on it too, it's going to help your bad facial

hygiene.

A fifth way to give yourself acne is, pick at the acne you already have.

Pick at it!

Touch it.

Rub...rub it.

I don't know.

Don't leave it alone okay.

Great way to guarantee it'll spread.

If your favorite superhero is Deadpool, you're going to look like him pretty soon, except

without the superpowers...and the girlfriend, which I guess won't be much of a difference

to your life anyway.

A sixth way to give yourself pimples is your phone screen, okay.

Don't wash it.

I know you guys are always on your phone all day like, "I know right?

Like totally, I was at the mall and she was like, okay, so I was like, whatever!"

Your phone screen is touching your face all the time, so make sure that it's nice and

dirty.

The seventh way to make yourself break out is, and this applies to the ladies mostly,

don't wash your makeup off when you go to sleep.

Keeping that makeup on your face all night, it's going to start penetrating your pores

in a bad way.

I'm not going to go into the scientific reason behind it cause' I'm not...I don't have...I'm

too lazy to do that.

An eighth way to give yourself acne is frequent sun tanning.

Those who spend too much time in the sun are giving themselves a greater risk to getting

acne.

And if you're wearing a type of sunscreen that clogs up your pores, even better!

This ninth and final way I'm going to share with you on how to get acne is, make yourself

stressed.

Stress can do a lot of things to you.

Stress can eff up your life in a lot of ways including other areas of your mental health,

your physical health.

That includes your skin.

Having a lot of stress can make your skin go boom!

Well, now you know how to get acne or how to get pimples, whatever name you call the

crap on your face.

Now you know how to get it.

Willow Smith Is Growing Up Fast - Duration: 4:29.

Rather than ride on her parents' famous coattails, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's daughter, Willow,

has always worked hard to create her own identity — with art, music, and social influence.

But it's been longer than you think since Whip My Hair.

Here's how 17-year-old Willow Smith went from Hollywood mini-me, to independent woman.

"Nothing's gonna stop me from getting what I need to get in my life."

Skirting the spotlight

Smith explains that growing up with famous parents isn't as easy as it looks.

"Do you have more memories of me working or not working?

I have more memories of you working, but making time to be with me."

She revealed just how "excruciating" it is to live in the public eye, with strangers

feeling entitled to her private life.

She told Girl Gaze,

"I feel like most kids like me end up going down a spiral of depression, and the world

is sitting there looking at them through their phones; laughing… at the crippling effect

that this lifestyle has on the psyche."

Fluid outlook

"The only thing that can really drive you to do what you want to do is passion."

Smith told Refinery29 she's a fully-formed fluid-thinking teen who prefers black (not

pink!) — and who's living way outside the conventional box.

She said,

"I'm not obsessed with getting married or having kids.

Gender norms put people in boxes and don't allow them to really get to their full potential

as a human being."

This one's for the girls

At 15, Smith became an official ambassador for Chanel.

And she's owning her unique role with the fashion house, revealing to The Telegraph,

"I know a lot of girls that look like me… feel like they don't have a place in the media

or a place in the world."

"If you're confident and you love yourself… your perception, will start to change."

Teenage love

Smith has a pretty grown-up view of love and relationships.

She told The Fader she believes in freeing those you love the most, saying,

"As much as we want to hold on to these people, love and relationships — you have to enjoy

and release."

Generation Z

"Don't let anybody tell you you can't do something because they're the ones who can't do it."

Don't confuse Smith for a Millennial — she is pure Generation Z.

These are the kids who were born post-1995, and according to Huffington Post, they make

up 25.9 percent of the U.S. population.

But just like every up-and-coming generation, Smith says there are downsides.

She told Girl Gaze that she and other post-millennials suffer from anxiety.

Some may think this is linked to an obsession with technology, but Smith doesn't think it's

as simple as that, saying,

"It's not just the phones…

The phones just heighten what was already happening."

Giving back

In 2017, Smith and her family sold 300 pieces from their high-end wardrobes through The

RealReal luxury consignment site, with all proceeds going to benefit those affected by

hurricanes in the Caribbean.

According to E! News, Smith's personal contributions included an Adidas by Rita Ora Jacket, and

an Opening Ceremony Jacket.

The sound of self-love

Although she admires her dad's music career, Smith isn't a Fresh Prince wannabe.

"I don't wanna put out like a thing that I want the world to see me as because it's like

everyone is gonna see me as what they want to see me."

Carefully crafting her own musical identity, her second album, The First, focuses on self-love.

Smith revealed to Rolling Stone in 2017 how the songwriting process gives her confidence,

saying,

"For each song, you go through, 'OK, I'm learning this.

I'm learning this a bit more.

Now, I get this.'

You start to become friends with the process."

"Once I was like, dang, like what do I want to actually be as an artist that informed

what I wanted to be as a person."

As Smith looks ahead, she's still feeling those musical vibes, but in a different capacity.

She told the mag,

"The art of creating music is one thing, but the science of it is a completely different

world…

[It] takes time for me to get comfortable with that and understand the logistics of

my creativity."

However, Marco Rubio called out the Democrats for their bullsh*t.

Rubio argued that it is the wrong time to have a control debate "only because people

don't — they don't know how this happened, I mean, who this person is, what motivated

them, how did they get ahold of the weapon that they used for this attack," said Rubio

on Fox News Channel's "Special Report."

"I think it's important to know all of that before you jump to conclusions that there's

some law that we could have passed that could have prevented it.

And there may be, but shouldn't we at least know the facts?" said Rubio.

The reason there can be no debate is because of the lies from the Left.

ABC nightly news told a flat-out lie about there being 18 school shootings since the

in windows, and other shootings that have nothing to do with students – so hard to

debate when you start off with lies.

More Bankers Need Prison Time - Duration: 1:17.

Finally tonight some good news.

A top financial executive was re-sentenced to seven years in prison for selling millions

of dollars worth of phony loans.

This story began after the US Justice Department announced a plan to take down crooked mortgage

lenders that helped create the housing crisis of 2008.

A federal investigation concluded that David McCloskey and his company First Atlantic Financial

brokered $33 million in fraudulent loans.

They said his loan applications contained false information about a borrower's income,

which were supported by fake documents that he and others at Atlantic Financial doctored

up.

In fact, all of Wall Street doctored up these kinds of documents, not just this guy.

But the prosecutor in this case determined that McCloskey was motivated by pure greed,

as all of Wall Street was motivated by the same thing.

McCloskey says he's innocent and even tried to deflect some of the blame on his mom.

The prosecutor wanted McCloskey to serve 10 years in prison, but his re-sentencing will

make him serve only seven.

Most banking executives don't ever go to jail for the crimes they commit, so seven years

may not be 10, but it's a good start.

Take note, plenty of bankers up on Wall Street committed the same crime and never saw the

inside of a prison.

Hello and welcome!

I'm Firas Alshater with a new episode of

3Al Maashi.

Today I will explain how you can

become a child care worker in Germany.

Let's see.

3Al Maashi - becoming a child care worker

In the previous video

I talked about the child care workers in Germany

and why this job is important besides

the many job opportunities in Germany.

You can find the video on the YouTube channel ZUKAR.

Back in our countries, the grandparents

take care of the children

while the parents go to work.

But in Germany it is quite different

because often the grandparents

live away from the parents.

That's why the parents have to send their children

to the Kindergarden at a very young age.

There the children learn many things

with other children.

A child care worker has many tasks to do,

like helping the children with writing,

teaching them how to draw,

play with them,

sing with them, talk to them,

even listen to them,

cook with them, feed them,

help them when going to the toilet.

As you can see, there are many tasks for the child care worker.

This is a beautiful green place.

What a relief.

Right?

If you like calmness and relief

of course you can do that.

But not as a child care worker.

Personally, I love children

so I like to take care of them.

Normally, this kind of job needs

people who are strong

can be woman or man. The important thing is

to have patience.

To get this job

you need school education.

This means you to have to study at a school

and learn how to work with the children.

The vocational training to be a child care worker

divides into two parts.

First part is the "Fachschule".

There you will have theoretical lessons

and also work properly,

for example in Kindergarden

or work with the children in a clinic or other places.

Second part: You are obliged

to work for one year with the children

at certain institution.

This can be a Kindergarden, clinic or others.

After this year, your studying will be ended.

But within your studying time

you can apply for BAFöG

or minimum wage

as a compensation for your services.

How to start the vocational training in Germany?

First: You should have a residency here.

Second, you should have a work permission.

Also you should have school certificates

that are equivalent to "Realschule".

This means you studied until the 10th class.

Or you need equivalent to the "Hauptschule".

This means you studied until the 9th class.

Depending on if you studied for nine or ten years,

there are two different job opportunities.

If you studied for nine years

you can become a social assistant or educator assistant

they are the same, they only have different names.

The duration for this vocational training is 2-3 years

with a salary between 2.200 and 3.200 Euro

this depends on where you live.

If you studied for ten years and more

you can do a vocational training for 3-4 years

to become a child care worker

with a salary between 2.500 and 3.500 Euro.

For people who have become a social assistant,

so with nine years of school,

there is still a way to become a child care worker.

For this they need two years more training

added to their first training as a social assistant.

Very important note:

The duration of the training can be shorter

if you have already taken care of your own children.

You have no school certificate for this job?

No problem!

You can apply

for a voluntary job

or an internship.

Also there is the possibility to do a voluntary social year

I don't know how to translate this.

Or federal voluntary service

I don't know how to translate that either.

The best thing is to ask your teacher or at the job center

or Kindergarden, there will be people who will help you.

The most important thing is the German language

think about it, you will deal with the children,

they want to talk to you, you want to talk to them.

Also your boss needs to communicate with you,

that's why you need the language.

B1 level that you got

after the integration course, is not enough.

You should have an advanced level.

Also to be able to communicate with people

and talk to them with perfect German.

Democratic lawmakers running for reelection in 2018 are making an effort to avoid association

with former President Bill Clinton out of concern that his history of sexual impropriety

poses a significant political risk in the current climate.

As sexual harassment perpetrated by powerful men captures an increasing share of the national

consciousness, many Democrats believe Clinton�s involvement in the midterm elections might

derail the party�s effort to present itself as a party of and for women.

�I think it�s pretty tough,� Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, vice chair of the House

Progressive Caucus, told Politico.

Clinton�s presence �just brings up a lot of issues that will be very tough for Democrats.

And I think we all have to be clear about what the #MeToo movement was.�

Democratic leadership ousted Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota in the final weeks of 2017 after

at least ten women accused the former comedian of forcibly kissing and groping them.

The move was arguably an effort to distance themselves from the party of President Donald

Trump, who has been accused of sexual harassment by more than ten women.

Clinton�s newfound political toxicity represents a sharp departure from eight years ago when

he made over 100 campaign stops for Democrats during the 2010 midterms.

�People are crass about it and will look to see where his numbers are,� a Democratic

member of Congress in a competitive race told Politico.

�He�s still Bill Clinton, and he�s still a draw to certain segments of the party.�

While are many are reluctant to appear beside Clinton � whose approval rating is down

five percent since the end of the 2016 election � many lawmakers still recognize his draw

for a certain segment of the Democratic base.

�Depending on the audience, there will definitely be people � (who) will be uncomfortable,�

said Rep. Grace Meng of New York.

But there will also �definitely be people who want to see him.�

In the last video

Yuka and I were riding Iwatake mountain bike park in Hakuba

I got a tip that there was another mountain in Hakuba that I could ride for free

called minekata

So it was just across the town

So after Iwatake, i just headed over and checked it out

So this place is interesting

because it was the only legal and free place

that I rode in Japan

Which is a little unusual by Canadian standards

because in Canada, basically all the trails are free to ride

and if they're not its usually because there's a chairlift or shuttle involved
