Memo

Following his very first State of the Union address, President Donald Trump was caught

on a hot mic saying he will �100 percent� approve the release of a classified memo created

by GOP members on the House Intelligence Committee.

As Trump was shaking hands with lawmakers after delivering his speech, a live camera

feed caught Republican Rep. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina saying, �Let�s release

the memo.�

�Don�t worry, 100 percent,� Trump replied, while smiling.

�Can you imagine?�

The House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines Monday evening to release the

controversial memo that some members of Congress have said details abuses of the Foreign Intelligence

Surveillance Act under the Obama administration.

After the vote, Trump had a maximum of five days to object to the memo�s release.

Just hours before Trump told Duncan that he will release the document, though, White House

press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement that there were �no current

plans� for it to be made public.

�Contrary to a published report, there are no current plans to release the House Intelligence

Committee�s memo,� she said.

�The president has not seen or been briefed on the memo or reviewed its contents.�

CNN reported that according to two people �familiar with the matter,� Trump has

told his aides he wants to ensure that the memo is released as soon as possible.

However, he wanted to wait until after the State of the Union speech to do so, in order

to avoid distracting from his message of unity.

As The Western Journal reported, Republican members of Congress have described the information

contained in the four-page document as �shocking,� �troubling� and �alarming.� At least

one representative compared the activities contained in the memo to those of the Russian

KGB.

The committee�s ranking Democrat, Rep. Adam Schiff of California, said the vote made Monday

a �very sad day, I think, in the history of this committee,� according to Fox News.

�Today this committee voted to put the president�s personal interests, perhaps their own political

interests, above the national interests,� the Democrat said, announcing the vote to

the media.

Schiff said the vote was strictly along party lines, with no Democrats voting to release

the details of the memo.

But speaking Tuesday on �Fox & Friends,� Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina

said the document would be �embarrassing� to Schiff.

�(L)ook, my Democratic colleagues didn�t want us to find this information,� Gowdy

said.

�They did everything they could to keep us from finding this information.�

�I think it will be embarrassing to Adam Schiff once people realize the extent to which

he went to keep them from learning any of this,� he added.

FBI Director Christopher Wray reviewed the document on Sunday, according to the Fox News

report, and was �asked to point out inaccuracies or other issues with the warning.�

Wray responded by promising to have �his people to take a look at it.�

about a conspiracy deep within the FBI to destroy Donald Trump,

with his own FBI director and members of Congress,

Trump met today with Republicans in West Virginia.

He began by listing off Republicans in attendance,

but watch as he reads

and then complains that they forgot to include it.

of a long-running TV show where the writers decide

that after a slow first few months in office,

what he promised voters on the campaign trail.

-I was there four months -- you know this, Paul --

and they were saying, "He didn't fulfill a promise."

But now, we've fulfilled

far more promises than we promised.

And they're having a hard time with that.

We have seriously fulfilled promises.

I call it "promises plus."

-He refers to his accomplishments

like they're choices at a gas station.

[ As Trump ] "We have promises, promises plus,

and promises unleaded.

Of course, while --

While he was giving that speech, Trump probably had

the ongoing Russia investigation on his mind.

Now, we don't know if Trump will ever agree

to sit down with Special Counsel Robert Mueller,

but if he does, Mueller is likely to ask him

about his repeated attempts

to interfere with the investigation.

Just to name a few, he demanded a loyalty oath

from FBI director James Comey.

Then when he fired Comey, he asked Comey's

temporary successor Andrew McCabe who he voted for.

And then yesterday, we learned that he also tried to ask

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein,

who directly oversees Mueller in the Russia investigation,

if Rosenstein was on Trump's side.

-CNN is breaking right now news about a meeting in December

between President Trump

and the Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein --

the Justice Department official supervising the Mueller probe.

-The president asked Rosenstein where he thought

the investigation of links

between Russians and his campaign was headed,

and he went on to ask whether Rosenstein was "on my team."

-Oh, my God. Trump is so obvious.

If you met Trump on Tinder and messaged him hello,

his first reply would be, "What size bed do you have?"

[ Laughter ]

On top of that, we also learned yesterday

that Mueller is reportedly investigating

the White House's shifting explanation

for that infamous Trump Tower meeting Don Jr. had

with the Russians during the 2016 campaign.

As you might recall, the Trump team originally said

Don Jr. and the Russians...

Topic that is, of course, close to Don Jr.'s heart

since his brother was adopted from...Transylvania?

[ Laughter ] I think.

But then, e-mails later surfaced in which it was revealed

that the meeting was explicitly about getting dirt

on Hillary Clinton from the Russians.

The Times reported that Trump

and his communications director Hope Hicks

knew about the e-mails,

but that Hicks said the e-mails...

Amazing. So, not only did the e-mails get out,

the comment about how the e-mails would never get out

got out.

This administration is so incompetent,

they cover their tracks with bigger tracks.

[ Laughter ]

And yet...

as more evidence comes out

about Trump's attempts to obstruct justice,

Republicans in Congress are becoming more aggressive

in protecting him.

Today, the White House reportedly approved

the release of a secret, classified memo

written by House Republicans

alleging wrongdoing by the FBI

in its investigation into the Trump campaign.

The Washington Post reported today that Trump has...

But even Trump's own

handpicked FBI director Christopher Wray has...

Nonetheless, the White House seems to be moving forward.

Vice President Mike Pence told Politico...

You've always believed in the public's right to know?

In that case, will you release Trump's tax returns?

So, what does this memo actually say?

Well, The New York Times reported this week

that in reality, the memo shows

that Trump's own justice department

approved an extension of a warrant

to surveil a Trump campaign foreign policy adviser

named Carter Page.

So, just how suspicious is Carter Page?

- And we also got to the front page, like,

our video's number 11, which was pretty ridiculous.

- I felt like a lot of people would

look at that success and think,

"Okay, well that is kind of like

"the ceiling of my success."

But I remembered watching a video

on the Viral Academy course where Jesse explains

the concept of thinking big.

We toyed around with the idea of

infusing an educational element into the video,

and then we got 4,000 subscribers in, like, two days.
