Boston and Philadelphia.

Or...Beantown and The City of Brotherly Love.

Two major east coast cities in the United States, both part of the Northeast Megalopolis (mwhahahahahaha)

a part of the country that contains more than 17 percent of its entire population, or some 50 million people on less than 2% of the country's land area.

Both cities are exciting places to live in with a bright future.

Both are two of the oldest cities in the United States.

Before Europeans arrived, the Delaware Valley, where Philadelphia is located, was home to the Delaware Indians.

Various nations had lived in the area where Boston is currently located, but the Massachusett were the ones mainly around when Europeans came to the area.

Both cities were founded by those seeking religious freedom.

William Penn and other Quakers founded Philadelphia in 1682 Puritans founded Boston in 1630.

So yeah, Boston's about 52 years older.

Both were political, financial, and commercial centers of their colonies.

Philadelphia, of the Pennsylvania colony, and Boston, of really all of New England.

Both steadily grew at about the same rates during the colonial era, although Philadelphia always stayed ahead of Boston in population.

Both Boston and Philadelphia saw some action during the American Revolution.

Boston saw more violence within the city. I mean, there was the freaking Siege of Boston, which lasted almost a year, in which New England militiamen surrounded British forces within the city.

Philadelphia was quiet at first. So quiet that the First and Second Continental Congresses met there and it became the capital of the United States.

However, the British captured the city in September 1777 and controlled it until the next summer.

After the Revolution, both cities became industrial centers and each city's population skyrocketed.

In fact, the population of both Boston and Philadelphia steadily climbed and climbed and climbed and climbed until the Great Depression.

Since then, it's been up and down.

Now, when I talk about the population of cities, I tend to focus on the METROPOLITAN AREA, man. That's how you do it, count those suburbs, son.

The Boston metropolitan area has 4.8 million people and the Philadelphia metro has about 6 million.

Looks like you win, there, Philly. Unless people don't like a lot of people. Then I guess you lose.

Then again, Philly is 18% less densely populated than Boston, so you'd have a little more personal space there.

So say you'd want to move to one of these two fine cities?

Well, I will tell you, and I found this quite surprising, but the cost of living in Boston is almost 71% higher than the cost of living in Philadelphia.

This is mostly because housing costs are more than 291% more in Boston than they are in Philly.

The sales tax rate in Philadelphia ends up being 8% but in Boston it's only 6.25%.

Both cities have solid public transportation.

Philadelphia has the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, or SEPTA, the 5th largest overall transit system in the country, although it apparently doesn't reach all parts of the metro.

Boston also has an impressive transit system for a city its size, and can brag that it has the country's oldest active transit subway, built in 1897.

The Northeast Corridor high speed rail will actually get you from Boston to Philly in just under five hours.

What about the cars? Well, sorry Boston, but based on my research you have worse traffic than Philly.

Although, the commute time is longer in Philly, and don't get me wrong, traffic just sucks in both cities.

Part of the reason why Boston's traffic might be worse is due to its meandering streets that seemingly go in random directions.

Philly's streets were designed to be more accommodating to the modern world, and are mostly in a reasonable grid.

Philly has better weather than Boston. It has more sunny days.

Hey, it really IS always sunny in Philadelphia.

(It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia)

And it's warmer. Boston gets three times as much snow as Philadelphia does. Overall precipitation is about the same in both cities, though.

Boston has better air quality than Philadelphia. Oh Philly, you're gonna hate me now...

Philadelphia has more poverty.

Over 21% of Boston's population lives in poverty, while around 26% of Philadelphia's population lives in poverty.

Philly's unemployment rate is almost double that of Boston. Sadly, it's the poorest major city in the country.

Related to this, Philadelphia has more crime than Boston.

In recent years, it has had more than 3 times as many homicides as Boston.

Major industries in Philadelphia are bio-science, financial services, and tourism.

Tourism and financial services are also big money makers in Boston, as well as biotech and Education.

Boston has more college educated folks- more than 45% have college degrees, whereas just over 31% do in Philadelphia.

Hey but Philly has more museums than Boston, so there's that.

What about the schools, man? Well Boston has fewer students in each classroom than Philly does, yet spends nearly 12% less per student than Philly does.

Philadelphia residents are less likely to have a religious affiliation than Boston residents.

Before I go, I might as well mention all the professional sports teams.

Boston has the Patriots in football, the Red Sox in baseball, the Celtics in basketball, and the Bruins in hockey.

Philadelphia has the Eagles in football, the Phillies in baseball, the 76ers in basketball, and the Flyers in hockey.

So this leads me to explain why I am comparing Boston and Philadelphia.

It's mostly because both have NFL teams featured in this year's Super Bowl. I know, the Patriots are in Foxborough, but that's just outside of Boston, ok?

The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles will face off on Sunday.

The two teams actually played each other in the Super Bowl 13 years ago. The Patriots won that one by three.

The Patriots have won quite a few Super Bowls, and the Eagles have not won one yet.

Meanwhile, my Chiefs haven't been to a Super Bowl since 1970, but I digress.

If you want to know who will win that game based on the history of the two cities alone, go check out a video my friend Sami from US101 made.

In it, us history Youtuber dorks predicted who would win purely based on the historical significance of each city.

Click to see who I predicted would win.

Also, it's Groundhog Day, and I suppose it's time to unveil my new YouTube channel I started on the side.

The channel is called The Beat Goes On, and I just posted a new video on it this week about one of my favorite films of all time, Groundhog Day.

That's right, everything you need to know about the film and probably then some.

Go check it out and subscribe. Don't worry, this will still be my main channel. Think of The Beat Goes On as a side project.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about the new channel. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Thanks for watching!

South Korean President Moon Jae-in to hold one-on-ones with world leaders visiting ... - Duration: 2:41.

The nation's top office unveiled when and where President Moon Jae-in will be holding

numerous bilateral summits... penciled in during the PyeongChang Olympics period.

Our chief Cheongwadae correspondent Moon Connyoung starts us off with the details of that schedule.

There are few global events like the Olympics that bring together tens of thousands of people

from all around the world and steer the attention of millions to one place, at one time.

As athletes compete on the field behind their national flag... politicians and statesmen

battle it out on a diplomatic level representing the interest of their countries.

For South Korean President Moon Jae-in, the PyeongChang Winter Games will be the very

first international event to host AND with a new spokesperson.

"I'm here to announce when, where, and with which leaders President Moon Jae-in will be

holding separate meetings on the occasion of the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games."

(6 )On Tuesday... the South Korean leader will welcome the president of Estonia for

a bilateral summit at the Blue House...

(7 ) to be followed the next day by Governor-General of Canada and President of Lithuania.

(8 ) Thursday, the eighth is a full day for President Moon with back-to-back summits...

starting with the Swiss president.

Mr. Moon will then host President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany for a one-on-one and

a luncheon as this will also mark the German president's official visit to South Korea.

In the afternoon, Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy, Han Zheng... the president

of Poland will be at the top office... followed by U.S. Vice President Mike Pence scheduled

for a Blue House dinner with President Moon Jae-in.

The Moon, Pence meeting is one of the key top notch encounters... especially with hundreds

of North Koreans in the South for the Games and as the leaders look beyond PyeongChang

for future inter-Korean ties and the possibility of U.S., North Korea nuclear talks.

On the day of opening ceremonies... after a lunch meeting with the UN Secretary-General,

President Moon will sit down with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the host city,

PyeongChang.

That, to be followed by the prime minister of the Netherlands.

President Moon's at-home summit diplomacy continues throughout the Olympic period...

with three more scheduled before the closing of the Games.

"Among all, the face-to-face between the leaders of South Korea and Japan is one of the most

highly anticipated as the two will surely face off over a controversial 2015 deal on

Japan's wartime sexual enslavement of Korean women.

But, there are also forecasts that the meeting will serve as an opportunity for Mr. Moon

and Abe to put aside their differences... and present a united front... considering

the gravity and the need to together deal with North Korea.

Moon Connyoung, Arirang News, the Blue House."

11 Small Victories for Introverts - Duration: 3:34.

11 Small Victories for Introverts

Introverts face so many challenges when they eventually do socialization.

Sometimes they win the challenge when they actually do not have to be involved with people.

However, sometimes they lose because they are obligated to talk to other people.

In this short video, I'm going to share with you some small victories when you are an introvert.

Before we jump to the lists, if you're new to our channel, make sure to click the subscribe

button below, and don't forget to like this video if you find this information is helpful

to you.

Here are some small victories for introverts.

#1 - Staying at home

If your friend cancels the plan to go out, you will be so happy.

It is the first small victory that you can experience.

After all, everything comfortable is available at home already.

#2 - Empty elevator

Whether extroverts realize it or not, standing with people in tight place with their eyes

sometimes looking at you is not a good idea.

At least, for introvert.

Empty elevator is absolutely perfect.

#3 - You meet the host

In a party, more often than not, you will not know everybody else except the host.

When you reach the party and meet the host, it is absolutely a fulfilled expectation.

#4 - Empty bathroom

Another nice place to recharge yourself is absolutely the bathroom.

When you find empty bathroom, it is absolutely perfect place to stay away from the crowd.

#5 - Canceled plan

You know you are going to some place away from home with a bunch of friends.

That can be super exhausting activity until you smell a victory after getting a text message

that the plan is canceled.

#6 - You are always with the guy you know

Party can be a creepy place.

Victory is achieved if your friend wants to stick with you throughout the course.

#7 - Have a reason not to call

Phone call can be super thrilling experience for introvert.

If it is redirected to voice mail, we are relieved.

#8 - Radio on taxi

You do not have to talk with the driver.

Super awesome for introverts who need a space after tedious work.

#9 - Online delivery order

You want your favorite foods, but you have to go there to buy it yourself.

Wait!

The new menu is now available for online delivery order.

It is absolutely the best feeling for introverts.

#10 - Someone let you speak

In a group work or discussion, sometimes your ideas cannot get across the others because

the extroverts take the turn all the time.

Once you are given the chance to speak, you will blow their minds.

That's the real taste of victory.

#11 - Someone who talks a lot

Introverts love listening to other people's story.

If someone wants to say something, they are more than happy to listen it.

All in all, that's some of the small victories when you are an introvert.

Really cool information isn't it?

You wanna buy it then?

Hmm.. nope.

Will they check my ID card?

No, Her.

No, no, nothing like that.

Huh?

Have you ever bought one before, Din?

Emm...

N-no.. never.

It was my friend's brother.

I never did that.

Hey, don't forget to buy more than one.

You want to take some?

Well, no...

It's for backup, if one fails.

Ugh!

So will you buy it or not?

You said you're a lady-killer...

... but you can't even do a small thing like that?

Okay, okay. I'll buy it!

Good evening, sir!

Would you like to take 4 condoms?

We're having a special promotion now...

...buy 1 get 1 free.

No.

Do you want to top up your phone credit?

No need.

Do you want to donate your 200 rupiah change?

Keep the change!

How was it?

She didn't call the police, right?

Do you think I'm a robber?

But you got it right?

Here...

...the cashier even wore a hijab!

Chill...

...we got it anyway.

Guys...

Why does it have spikes on it?

WRITE WITH ME #2 | finishing the 1st draft [CC] - Duration: 12:33.

Hey guys, what's up? It's Lainey. Today I'm doing another Write With Me.

My last Write With Me got a very positive response, so I wanted to do another one.

And I'm planning to do another one next weekend as well. The one I'm gonna be

doing today is basically, I'm hoping cross my fingers, that I'm gonna be

finishing the first draft of Witch Pirates. I seriously feel like I have

less than 10,000 words to write before the first draft is going to be complete.

I think I'm like at 87,000 words. I am starting a little bit late than I

would have liked, but I just got back from my excursion to Target, Michael's, TJ

Maxx, and Barnes & Noble. So I ended up getting some planner things because I'm

like, really obsessed with planners now. Finally! After all these years of

being out of college I haven't been able to keep up with a planner. Several things

are helping me stay productive. One of those is the planner because I am doing

my productivity stickers. I have stickers that correspond with different things

that I have accomplished. So every 1,000 words I was able to put a sticker on the

day. I did one for 500 words and then when I finished a chapter, because my

chapters have been really long so, finishing a chapter is big a huge

accomplishment for me. The other thing that's really helping me stay on top of

things is my critique partner, Amanda. We've been critique partners since about

April/May. We met during Camp NaNoWriMo and, or re-met because we've known each

other... we've known each other for a while, but we didn't really connect this way

until Camp NaNoWriMo. So she's like, an amazing whiz with Excel spreadsheets.

We've been like helping each other by submitting our like, words or our hours

or our chapters to each other on this excel worksheet and you can see, I'll

show my half of it here, that yeah, I haven't been meeting my goal

most of January, but it's keeping me writing so that's like the most

important thing for me. Anyway I should probably stop talking because these

videos I like when they're not as much me talking to the camera and more of

just showing what I'm doing. Let's get started with this day right now.

Well my critique partner Amanda and I, we decided that we were going to help each

other write all day by staying on task with a lot of writing sprints. This way

we can keep our productivity up as well as hold each other accountable because

we're both really trying to finish our first drafts of our NaNo projects.

Since we did start a little bit late, we mostly did writing sprints here in the

afternoon. We did a lot of 15-minute sprints and I averaged around 400 for

every 15 minutes so I was definitely getting the words down.

I was writing the climax and right when I got to the climax I realized I wasn't

quite sure how I needed to write it so for our 20-minute sprint I actually

started brainstorming and kind of really plotting out the climax scene and this

really helped. I took the entire 20 minutes to write out exactly what I was

thinking. Am I proud of the climax I wrote? No but,

I know it will only get better over the next drafts, but the bones are there and

I'm happy with that.

Around five o'clock we decided to take a break and that we would resume our

writing again at 6:30 p.m. Which we did and I did not move from this chair for

the rest of the night. The last clip in here does show me finishing the first

draft I was recording myself during that sprint, of course.

Oh, my god, I just finished the first draft. I'm just like, so excited right

now, cuz I feel like finishing the first draft is always like, the best feeling in

the world. I feel more excited about finishing

first drafts than I do about like, feeling like, the book's "complete" and I

just feel really good right now. Especially because this is like the

third book I've written now cover to cover or, start to finish. I'm not gonna

look at it for a month at all and now I can finally shift gears and get back

into the mindset of Sharp Hollows and I don't think I'm actually gonna start

writing Sharp Hollows and getting into the nitty gritty of rewriting that until

next Saturday. Just because I want a full day like this day to just go through all

the things. I finally feel like I'm ready to do that and I can talk about that in

my Sharp Hollows video that I'll be doing, my Write With Me. I think I started

to rewrite it too soon and that's why I felt so overwhelmingly lost with the

story. I think I was too close to the old version to really let it go, but now I'm

like 100% ready to get back into it and I didn't feel like that when I

decided to rewrite it. Like I finally understand like, that taking a huge break

from the book and going back into it really helps you and that's the first

time that's happened to me where I just totally feel it. It was really nice

because all through NaNo I didn't think of the characters. I mean, I thought of

them, but I didn't think of them. Like I was very involved with Witch Pirates.

It wasn't until like, these past three weeks... two and a half weeks, I was like getting

the itching to get back into the Sharp Hollows world, and those characters

especially. The characters have been like totally in my head,

wanting to be written, wanting for me to write their story. So it's like, it

just all came together very perfectly. So I I wrote a whole lot today. I wrote

probably the most words I've written in one sitting in a very, very, very, long

time. I wrote over 9,000 words. Man, I'm so proud of myself, so productive. Have to

thank my critique partner, Amanda, because this day would not have been possible

without her. This is the end of the video, but I will share what my working title

is for Witch Pirates and I came up with this title about a month ago and I just

have never shared. I just keep forgetting to mention it, but right now the title

for Witch Pirates is "Pair of Prides." Right now it really works,

but again, I'm someone who can totally change a title if it doesn't fit once

the story keeps changing, but right now Pair of Prides is pretty accurate. It is

about two best friends. They're a pair, obviously, and they are pirates on a crew

called The Vile Pride and it's shortened to "The Pride." So they are a pair of

prides. That was the reasoning behind that title. Yeah. I hope you guys really

enjoyed this video. I'll see you guys very soon, bye!

🍨🍨 Red Velvet Bad Boy 🍕 [ESPAÑOL] 🍉 [ENG SUB] - Duration: 3:32.

In this new Red Velvet MV We can see that they are with their Velvet concept

Then we see, a video a little darker With more gray colors, there are two colors that

They are the ones that stand out throughout the MV

The white color that represents innocence and the red color that represents strength

and power

So it's a pretty complicated video to watch

Click like!

Yeri whenever she appears It appears in white and innocent tones

And whenever her friends are with her her friends

the red tones appear that represent strength and power

A lot of things are going to appear on the screen You are not sure which one to pay attention to

In a certain part of the MV can see mannequins or dolls

with head and without head

That represent the former couple who had

this bad boy

Since throughout the MV we can see that the

weapons are red

And whenever there is something that represents strength COW: Theory of K-Pop Junkee

it tends to be red

And that suggests that her friends are the

that help Yeri to overcome the bad boy

The song has some elements

of hip hop and the new album

as if they had been inspired by that

and it's totally different from everything we saw in Red Velvet

and it's also something very original and new that you do not see very often

If you liked this new style of music that are presenting and leading to k-pop

You can also leave us your opinion below on the comments

The choreography is something more sexy

of what we are used to expect from Red Velvet

and it's also quite complicated

since if we go to see his presentation in alive

we can see that when the choreography ended they ended up quite agitated and tired

and it's something that with other choirs and with others MV does not look

You can also see that they have many more steps, much more movements

and it's a lot more complicated than we come used by Red Velvet

Can I say that they copied from ...? "From the dark side of Lola"

In the clothes you can see how they are schoolgirls In their live presentation you can see that they are

schoolgirls A lot of Red media

many short skirts and shirts

also with ties COW: Maybe they are looking for a job in a bank

and it also shows a lot more skin This is something that comes a lot in the bands

from k-pop Many groups are starting to get into

this style So it might be the future of the

clothes in k-pop

As a final conclusion we are going to say that this song

of Red Velvet is very good very different from what we are used to

Fight For Love | English Poetry by Shaunak Mukherjee | Nojoto Open Mic Mumbai - Duration: 3:40.

the world imploded a million stars shone

brighter than they ever had

the melody of a Thousand violins

played symphonies unknown

the smell of wet earth

after the first rains intermingling with the faint

fragrance of jasmine and vanilla

the comfort of a warm piece of chocolate

melting in your mouth

the simplicity of childhood puzzles

and the complexity of

what seemed to be back then

every quake

every shiver every single imperfection

perfectly refined

there was everything

and in that very instant there was nothing at all

the universe Eve top and then down

the lights grew dimmer

till it was just Stardust in the wind

the music paced itself out to a lull

Jasmine's vanilla chocolates rain

what rains no memory remained

no records of the past or future except for Just the now

perfections imperfections are like seemed meaningless

there was none but that one moment

and the lips parted

sometimes we need to hurt to drove

sometimes we need to lose to gain

some lessons are best learned through pain

but what

when the loss is far too much

what when the pain becomes your crutch

what then

do you brace it all

do you stand where you want to fall

things are easier said than done

to gain something good the bad must be undone

maybe the bad is not meant to go away

maybe those very lessons are then here to stay

never let go of something so good

not a moment spent misunderstood

some say you should fight for what you love

some say these things need an extra shelf

so a million people speaking their own views

a million people waiting for a hint of good news

mile is a voiced amongst the scores

a little broken symphony of older lowers

holding on to hope for time to heal

what may not be broken but just the seal

but if an ain't broke

why does it need fixing

why do these emotions keep on mixing

the mind and heart at a constant war

you want to keep going but the journey is not far

in search for a heart lost its way

to hold her hand never lead her astray

time is all she wants for now

time is all my heart can allow

I strain my eyes for a glimmer of hope

darkness abounds as I trudge the locus look

one word one smile

a familiar kiss

it just takes a moment to realize what's a miss

take the leap my love

I'm still here with my hand to hold you should have no fear

mistakes one to many

that's what it takes

for a belief to transform a cynic it makes

sitting at your corner

sipping on a cup half empty

remembering the days gone by

a lost lifetime of self-pity

no sleep no peace

no arm to lean on

never a woman spent without regret

the cup reads coffee it reeks of rum

they told us time again

never drink to forget

time goes by the world goes on

and here I sit a figure for a lon

a merry giggle lives my bro at last

a hint of smiling alright is not lost

Thank you
