Disconnect to Reconnect | Anna Geary - Duration: 8:26.

Are we on there ye? Sorry folks, Sorry folks - Anna, you're actually on now there ye!

Sorry, Sorry about that - reading a very important text message...

How are ye all doing today? HELLO ZEMINAR. So....a lot of you seem to lose attention quite quickly

and that was probably based on my attention span, because my attention span

was on this little device here okay and I saw a few people going - what is she

doing? why isn't she paying attention to us? what's going on? and unfortunately for

a lot of people that happens on a daily basis. How many of us very honestly, hands

up, have been in a conversation with someone and you're you're holding the

conversation but you're on the phone at the same time pretending you're

listening when you're not really? Yeah - in today's world, it's a world of

connectivity, but there's never been a lack of connectivity more than today!

Why? Because too often we walk around the place and we're glued to our phones.

Today I'm going to be talking about life choices okay and when you think of the

words "Life Choices" you think, you know you heard about points in the leaving cert.

What am I gonna do? Where am I gonna go? What college am I gonna get to?

What size house house am I gonna have? What career am I gonna have? But life choices

bring them right back down to you they're so much smaller than that but

they're so much more important. A child on average every day makes about 3,000

choices. It's a lot okay, but an adult makes an average number of

choices is 35,000! Whether it's what you eat; what you drink; what you'll wear; where

you'll go; how you go to work; how you go to school; if you do your homework. Some

of them you mightn't even realize you're making them - they're subconscious you don't

even know what you're doing. And one of the biggest choices we make

every day or DON'T make is how we interact with people. If you don't mind

what's your name? Yeah - Craig. Craig & I struck up a friendship without

even speaking. Why? Because....(crowd cheers) - yeah we'll talk to you after!

....because we made eye conta......(crowd laughs & cheers)....

Go on - give 'em a wave Craig; give 'em a wave! Thank You Craig.

The reason why we struck up a friendship is because we made eye contact and what

happened soon after eye contact? A mutual smile. How many times do we speak with

people but we don't look at them? We make a choice because oh we think they're

more important than we are; we think they look better than we are; they

think they're older and more superior - I'm not gonna look them in the eye. Human

contact is what makes this world go round. All the speakers already today

have talked to you about resilience; have talked about their own personal stories;

have talked about what defines you, but what defines us is interaction. What

defines us as people is connection, it's friendships. It's wanting to spend time

with other people but being yourself in the process. Today I'm talking about

choices but how many times do we talk about choices in terms of what we should

do? Instagram says we should be wearing this; snapchatters are saying we should

be doing that. So, even though I don't think that's me I better do it - in case.

What would people think of me if I didn't conform? Oh my god I don't really

want to go out on Saturday night but all the guys in the WhatsApp are saying

they're going so FOMO, so I better go. But the problem is if we keep making

choices based on what other people say we should do then they're not our

choices, and someone else is making them. And the problem with that is if it

doesn't work out then, then there's a problem because you feel well I didn't

make that choice and resentment can build up and a fear of making mistakes

can build up. The biggest message that I can give to all of you is you're at a

stage where it doesn't matter if you make mistakes, so don't be afraid to make

them. But the choice has to be yours so if at least it doesn't work out and it's

your mistake, you can own it and you can learn from it, but there's nothing

worse than making a choice - it not working out and you're making a mistake

and you know that it wasn't your choice to begin with. It was your friend's

choice; your mother's choice or your teachers choice. Life is all about

mistakes. I've played sport for the bones of 25 years and I've been very successful

but I've also lost a lot - I failed a lot; I've been challenged a lot; I've been

dropped from teams; I've got injured; I've lost big games; I've

underperformed on the biggest day and I've learned more about myself from

those mistakes than I have from any of the successes. But what's stopping us making

mistakes - it's a fear. It's a fear of what other people will think of us; it's a fear

of what we'll think of ourselves and when we look at social media and we look at

technology, we spoke about it already, how many how many likes you have; how many

friends you have - that's what we define ourselves by. And we think we know our

friends because we see all their pictures in social media but that's not

what friendship is about. That's not what life is about. It's about asking someone

and speaking to someone and asking them are they okay. And the three of those words

could change your life forever, but you have to speak to people, you have to put

the phone down. In a way we have to Disconnect to Reconnect.

And not just to other people but to ourselves as well. Back in the day

you sat in a bus alongside somebody or you were on a train - there was no phone

to pull out and go on social media. You actually started talking. I got my first

job because I was on a train sitting across the way from somebody.

I didn't know who they were and they ended up owning a really big company

and we started chatting and I was telling them about what I wanted to do or

well I didn't really know what I wanted to do. And they started talking to me and

just opened my mind to possibilities and I ended up working in a software

company for seven years in marketing and HR. But you have to be prepared to

connect with people. You have to be prepared to take a chance. Take a chance on yourself

and take a chance on others because at the end of the day life is all about

perspective as well and you do not judge people by the choices they make because

you do not know what situation they're in. There's a picture I want to show all

of you up here okay - it's very very straightforward. So this picture - you

might look at it and go okay there's a bald man, what the hell - what's this about?

So this is a picture of all different faces, okay. I want you to take

about 30 seconds to see if you, and not your friend, you, look at this -

how many faces can you find in that picture? Shout out numbers....

Anything more than 10? There is at least 10 faces on this picture and there's

probably more in there I just haven't found them. The reason why I put up this

picture is very straightforward okay. It's about your perspective in life. Do

not judge anyone else for the choices they make because you do not know what

perspective they are looking from. You do not know the life that they live. And

that is one of the biggest things, you heard already, that be kinder to yourself,

be kinder to others as well. Because down the line you'll need others to make sure

they don't judge you and when you make mistakes in life, while you didn't mind

making them, you will you will want other people to be kinder to you - to show

empathy to you, to understand that we're all not perfect. Because on social media

it's the perfect face; the perfect body; the perfect life; the perfect house;

the perfect 600 points; the perfect 800 points - it's all perfect. But forget the

perfect! Perfect is actually being imperfect and being okay with being

imperfect. As I've grown up now I wish somebody told me that you don't have to

be like anyone else, you can be like yourself, because that's the most

important thing. Every single one of you is perfect as you, but you're never gonna

be perfect trying to be somebody else. So make your mistakes; have fun in the

process and just put the phone down and actually reconnect with your friends and

your family - you might be surprised by what you'll find out about them.

Thank You very much

Flashed face makeup "Ayaka Sugiura" | Eng Sub - Duration: 8:13.

Red color is the most important part of this makeup.

So to have a good and nice impact of color,

try to put the color little bit stronger than you usually do.

Hello. I'm Ayaka Sugiura.

I'm a "cross-dressing" or "handsome girl" type model.

This time I did a makeup called "flashed face makeup". It's kind of girly makeup.

Hope you enjoy it.

Here we go.

The color contacts are "Airily -QUALITE 1 Day".

The color is brown.

The size is 14.5mm.

It's brown but pretty light brown.

I used this because it's cute and matches with our theme today.

The foundation is "Yves Saint Laurent -Encre de Peau Le Cushion B20".

It's a cushion foundation.

I usually use a cushion foundation.

Because I have a dry skin.

Cushion foundations are good for my skin type.

I usually put powder foundation afterwards.

I wanted it more like shiny skin then matte skin for the theme.

So I didn't use powder this time.

For the eyebrows, I used "K-Palette -LASTING 3 WAY EYEBROW PENCIL #04".

I usually drew eyebrows to go upwards.

But this time I wanted more girly look.

So I decided to draw them more horizontal.

Next it's "KATE -Designing eyebrow N light brown".

It has three colors.

I used the darkest brown and this light brown in the center.

I mixed those two and apply it with this brush to the part like filling out spaces.

Next, it's "KATE -Dual Blend Eyes SV-1".

I only use this black color.

So I drew the eye lines with a brush.

I usually do not draw eye lines.

But this time, to make the eyes to stand out,

I drew lines from the end to the center.

It's "CANMAKE -Perfect Styling Eyes #14".

This has red and pink colors.

I used this middle-torn pink on the upper side of eyelids,

then added this lightest pink, close to white,

In the middle of the pink and brown line to blend both colors.

Now it's "KATE -brown shade eyes BR-7".

I only used this white color on the right.

I put this from the inner edge of the lower eyelids to the center, along with the lashes.

It adds cute look.

Next it's "Dolly Wink -Pencil Eyeliner III Brown".

I used this to draw a very small part.

I just added small lines on the inner edges of eyes.

Maybe not many people notice, but it does make difference.

So I do this.

Now I curl eyelashes.

This is an eyelash curler from "KOJI".

It curls very well.

I always use this.

Now it's mascara. It's "FUROFUSHI -MOTE-MASCARA REPAIR BASE".

My natural eyelashes are very short.

So I used this base entirely on both upper and lower lashes.

It's "FUROFUSHI -MOTE-MASCARA REPAIR Long".

This time I wanted more length than volume.

So I put this over the base I put before and added length.

Next, it's for contouring.

It's "MAYBELLINE NEW YORK -V-FACE duo #01".

It has two colors and I used this brown part

on the cheeks and towards the edge.

Contouring the face line.

Then afterwards, with this white one,

Added highlights.

Now let's do the cheeks.

It's for both lips and cheeks, from"Candy Doll".

As I said, you can use this for both lips and cheeks,

but this time I used this only for cheeks.

This is the most important part of this "flashed face makeup".

Put this right under the eyes, a little higher than normal cheeks.

Then go straight, even on the nose.

It's better to put this a little strongly.

In that way, you follow our theme today.

Now the lips.

It's "Candy Doll -Lip Stick Lamune Pink".

This is like very light pink.

White-ish.

Like baby-pink, almost.

Today I wanted a cute look.

So I wanted to use colors like pink and red.

So I chose this for the lips.

Next, it's "CANMAKE -Candy Wrap Lip #01".

It's like a lip gloss.

This has a strong pink color.

I added this on the lips to add the color.

Along with today's theme, I wanted to change my hair.

So I chose this wig from "Airly", with this bright blond color.

I wanted to add more on the head.

So I chose this black hat to match with my black outfit.

How did you like it?

Because the theme is "flashed face makeup",

red color is the most important part of this makeup.

So to have a good and nice impact of the color,

try to put the color little bit stronger than you usually do.

With this long type wig which I don't really wear usually,

And this off the shoulder outfit, it makes like girly cute look.

Today's dress is from "Drug Honey".

It's girly cute but also little cool taste.

I have twitter and Instagram accounts.

Search me with "Ayaka Sugiura" and follow me!

I do other makeups.

So follow the channel.

I do Japanese traditional-like ones, boy-like ones and so on!

Check them, too!

Bye bye.

ERIN: Like, worst case scenario we have outtakes!

[off-screen laughter]

ERIN: And that's probably going to be the start of the outtake reel now!

[funny music]

TAHLIA: Just do a little chair roll! I don't know! I don't dance!

[funny music]

DARBY: Cheeky!

EVERYONE: HEY!!!

ERIN: Lee that was your fucking cue!

[everyone laughs]

LEE: Fuck! Alright, let's try that again.

ERIN: Take two!

ROSLYN: And I need to know what happens!

It's not about the backers, the people backing it, it's about me, I want to know what happens!

KERMIE: [quietly] Hello!

[offscreen laughter]

TAHLIA: [singing] --a podcast for everyone!

ERIN: [offscreen] We're recording now by the way! TAHLIA: That's nice!

ERIN: But also, I'm the producer, so I can do whatever the fuck I want.

ERIN: Okay! Sorry, being a professional!

[Lee clears his throat]

ERIN: How do I phrase this?

How do I make the words good?

UMM.

I'm a professional writer!

ERIN: It's okay, whenever I get cranky I just think "This is going to be great for outtakes!"

[funny music]

ERIN: Alright, blah bla-blah bla-blah

ROSLYN: Er, ah, [weird tongue noises]

ERIN: [weird tongue noises] Face, what are you doing?

DARBY: [weird tongue noises] I'm going to start again

ERIN: [weird tongue noises]

TIARA: [weird tongue noises]

ROSLYN: [weird tongue noises] I had this all planned out before, it was fine!

It was fine!

LEE: It's my tongue's fault!

ERIN: [laughs] Oh fuck you past Erin, how am I supposed? Alright.

ERIN: Love and luck is an audio-- Fuck, I've fucked it already! There we go! Cool!

ERIN: Don't think that's what the script says but it's about right!

ERIN: That's not what I meant--

Oh no, that is what it says! Good job me!

ERIN: That's not what it says let's try that again!

ERIN: That was garbage, let's do that again!

ERIN: That's not correct! Fuck me.

ERIN: That was not how that's phrased.

Oh wait yes it is!

Yay! Good job me!

LEE: I'm trying to look away from the camera, okay?

ERIN: [offscreen with a funny voice] Hello I'm the camera, I want to give you money for Kickstarter!

ERIN: Yeah, skip forward, because that's embarrassing the next part!

HARRI: [laughs offscreen] ERIN: I hated reading that part when I had

ERIN: to do it for real!

LEE: Erin is fantastic! Umm...

ERIN: [offscreen] This is very sweet but I can't fucking use this in the video!

LEE: I know I can't, Let's try that answer again shall we?

TAHLIA: Ah that's a shit answer!

ERIN: Umm, What was the question?

LEE: [offscreen] What do you like about being involved?

ERIN: I fucking wrote those questions, I should know them!

[funny music]

HARRI: [offscreen] Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain....

HARRI: Oh okay, I was hoping to get, like, some footage from through the window but Kermie's...

HARRI: bent over and behind the monitor so like--

ERIN: [offscreen] Wow that was really short.

ERIN: That-- I feel like-- Okay, just going to say I feel like that drastically understates what

ERIN: you do, as part of this, like, project, I could talk for about an hour about what you do

HARRI: [offscreen] Just like a techie, to just like

ERIN: [offscreen] It's like "I just do the stuff!"

ERIN: Meanwhile the rest of us are like "WHAT?"

ERIN: That's because we want to be able to offer you physical merchandise--

ERIN: And some stuff!

ERIN: I forgot how to say words

ERIN: With your help, season two of Love and Luck--

will do some stuff that I forgot again!

ERIN: Nailed it.

ERIN: Nailed it!

ERIN: Good, smashed it, excellent, next one!

ERIN: Smashed it, good, that'll do.

ERIN: You know what our first take was fine! First take was fine!

ERIN: [sighs] Fantastic, fantastic outtakes! Alright.

ERIN: Also, Hi! Welcome to production with Erin!

This is basically what all of season 1 was like!

DARBY: So there, that's the magic of radio!

ERIN: [offscreen] Done, see? you did it!

[Lee sighs in relief]

ERIN: Take one is done!

[Lee starts fake-crying] [everyone else laughs]
