Ask about Japanese MALE : Ask visitors from foreign countries in JAPAN. - Duration: 7:17.

It's somewhat forgotten in Europe.

They don't care of what people think

and the look is different from one person to another.

I have not noticed that, but I shall look out for that in the future now.

Really clean shoes.

Okay?

Hey guys, it's Cathy Cat!

And today we're going to ask foreigners about Japanese men.

So what's the difference between Japanese boys and men

compared to all those other countries that we met today.

Let's go and ask foreigners in Japan!

Japanese men.

Anything different than back home in Germany?

I really like the way everybody is so

unbelievably polite towards you.

Because they are all like, arigatou gozaimasu (thank you very much).

It was... It's amazing.

I'm really like, also pleased with the culture.

Also, what I think is very cool

is the prayer that people do.

Like, going to the different shrines and then you

throw your money in there and then you pray and you clap your hands.

It's very cool, I think.

It's some part of a culture that I think is...

It's somewhat forgotten in Europe.

And the men.

Boys and men in Japan, compared to back home in France.

What's different? I'm gonna start with you this time.

They are more free than boys in France.

More liberate and more cool.

Right!

Yeah, more relaxed and...

Also more...

I think funnier than the boys in France, because uh...

Their looks are also more colorful and... I don't know...

It's different.

They're more than French guys, they're more fun than French guys.

Yeah, they are maybe funnier and...

There seems to be...

They don't care of what people think and the look is different from one person to another.

And...

It's not so standardized as in France.

It's quite different. It's cool!

Yeah, and they're also very easygoing when you start speaking to them they're very friendly.

And they speak to you very easily.

And it's in general, Japanese People are very friendly that's what we thought.

Glad you've made loads of positive experiences here.

How about Japanese men and boys?

What... What is the difference to back home?

How clean their shoes are.

Right!

That is one thing I can't believe, how clean their shoes are.

Right.

On the train. Okay, I've only been here two days.

But on the train, I've never seen so many clean shoes.

I have not noticed that, but I shall look out for that in the future now.

Really clean shoes.

Always walking clothes and...

In the subway (people) always look tired than in China.

I mean, in China maybe people are actually more casual actually.

And when I'm in the subway, and maybe in Tokyo Station, there are always people in working clothes.

-China is more casual. -More casual?

So they are a little bit more casually.

I have a host father, actually.

Because I mean, host family.

And one day he was like, super hungry. And in a bad mood and Stuff.

And he was so creepy!

So now I'm thinking that all Japanese men are all like this, but they're not.

But...

Now I'm a little bit afraid...

But that's okay, cause some people are very good and...

I don't know them so much, I know more the uhm...

The Japanese women than the men because of Japanese kawaii fashion.

Cause there's more girl than boys, so.

Hopefully you'll make a good experience soon!

How about you? Japanese men, what's your first impression?

My first impression was that they're like, kind of shy.

Now I think they are really polite.

Because one time I got lost on the metro, in the subway

A couple of Japanese guys helped me and I was really grateful for that.

And also one time, I was looking for a store. So...

And they also helped me, so I like them

So you've had some positive experiences?

Yeah. They're pretty friendly once you like, talk to them.

So what about men and boys?

Looking around at Japanese men, Japanese boys. What's different to back home in Poland, or in India?

They are very short and slim.

Oooh!

Yes!

There's something that stood out for you!

But they look good. Yes, of course they look good.

They're also very good, and they're so helpful.

They're helpful, right!

What happened? Did someone help you?

Yes!

Twice.

Yesterday and...

Today itself.

When we are going to some rice museum they told me and then he came back

to guide us, that it's over there, over there.

Oh, that was so nice!

Yes. He was very careful to show where to go, how to go. So...

They gave us advise.

Even though we don't seem to ask for help, they just come to us

if we look like, lost.

So they come to us and they ask if they can help us.

They're very, very friendly.

Oh! Fantastic!

How about Japanese men or boys?

What's different to back home?

They're a lot shorter.

A lot shorter, but they're also a bit like, nicer as well.

Shyer...

They like, dress more nicely.

Like, and cool.

It's a very, very different fashion sense going around here, right?

Yes.

Those were already all our questions, thank you so much!

So! Japanese boys and men compared to...

Boys and men in other countries.

And we had a broad range of people, telling us about that.

What I can actually add to that is they're very very fashionable, very very stylish.

Many are actually very skinny as well.

Very much skinnier than I see them in Germany.

Also obviously a little bit smaller in tallest (height).

Which is not a bad thing, I actually like that.

And to be honest.

What I could maybe add to that is that...

They are a bit more shy then you see in other countries and a bit more...

A bit less, GRRRR!

I feel like, and especially in Western countries

There's always a big push to always being very manly and very, being very Strong and stuff.

And that's, not so important here.

It's actually like, being a good person and... You know, it's contributing to society

The, get your rights straight that kind of stuff seems to be more important.

It's a bit different, from what I can say.

Yes!

But what I find interesting is in comparison, we have in the western society

we have a lot of young man dating quite a lot of people!

And then always panicking and going like, oh no!

I don't, you know, what if you confirm to that relationship and stuff like that.

While I feel in Japan

it's more, people try to date less people

than they maybe would in the western world and try to actually marry earlier, without panicking away.

So that's a couple of things I've seen that are a little bit different.

But that's culture wise

And again, every person you meet is different, so.

Who you meet might be a very very different person again and all of this doesn't count.

So, how about you?

Compare Japanese men from what you've heard, to men in your country.

Do you see it's different? Is there anything better, is there anything worse?

Let us know. Looking forward to reading your comments!

And I'll catch you soon on Ask Japanese.

There's also a video about Japanese women and girls, so be sure to check that out!

Woodturning A Tall Ash Goblet - Duration: 5:46.

Hi, Alan Stratton from As Wood Turns.

(http://www.AsWoodTurns.com) As I said in the last video, I struck it rich

in the club raffle with these two pieces of, what I believe is, ash.

This one is ash sapwood.

And, as it has turned out is about 8" long and 2" in diameter.

I decided to make a goblet.

I have not made one for a while.

I did not go to an extreme but I think this will be a nice use of that piece of wood.

I've mounted the wood between centers.

I prefer a steb center clone on the spindle.

The task now is to make the wood round and to turn a tenon on one end.

My tenon will be smaller for my small shark jaws.

Let's get this part done quickly.

Now I can remount the wood into my chuck.

With this much long piece of wood hanging out, perhaps I should have made the tenon

longer or used my steady rest.

But it is working okay this time.

I'm hollowing the end grain with a medium spindle gouge.

I could have drilled a started hole but that takes time.

I'm doing fine without one.

I just need to focus on keeping the gouge flute mostly closed relative to the wood.

Then work from the inside to the outside.

When I'm nearly to the shape I want, I'm switching to a round nose scraper.

Then sand the inner cup part and apply lacquer.

As I continue, I'm placing a tennis ball in the cup for gentle tail stock pressure.

Then after marking the depth of the hollow on the exterior, I can form the upper exterior

with my spindle gouge.

With the tennis ball I can check the wall thickness multiple times until it is right.

Now sand and finish the cup exterior.

The wood will start to flex and move so I have to do at least my sanding now.

Next, I've marked just higher than the middle of the stem for a center feature.

And I can turn away the wood with the spindle gouge.

I caught the gouge wing on the bottom portion and had to reset the wood in the chuck.

Fortunately, it did not break.

I'm using a skew for final smoothing for the small stem.

I sanded this portion but did not apply finish yet.

Now for the center stem feature.

I don't want a plain long skinny stem.

This feature will provide some visual interest to the stem.

And not just show off.

And, of course, sand and finish this section of the stem.

It does not take much to sand thin spindles.

I just need to focus on not sanding off the edges of the feature.

Next is the bottom of the stem.

With only a plain stem, it does not take much before I'm sanding this little bit.

Finally, the goblet's base.

I'm ending the base a couple of inches above the jaws.

Too often, I've made the base too close to the jaws and then had a tough time undercutting

the base and parting off the goblet.

So, I'm leaving more wood this time.

The base needs to be big enough to stabilize this tall goblet.

Now sand and finish the remining wood through the base.

Here's where it gets scary.

After all the work to cut, sand, and finish the goblet, can I undercut the base and part

it off without ruining the goblet.

Despite my fears, I have to go on.

I wasted the remaining wood to give room to undercut the base and turn the waste down

to about 1/8 inch and a little below the base.

Then I stopped the lathe and broke off the goblet.

The little extra wood prevented the break from going into the base.

Then I sanded the base with a 2" pad on the drill press.

After signing the base, I returned to the drill press for a light final sand to remove

scorching.

Then applied lacquer to the underside of the base.

I wonder if Mike Waldt, the goblet master, will approve of this goblet.

But no matter what Mike says, I like my tall goblet.

Maybe next time, I will turn captive rings.

That's all for this goblet.

Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe on my website and tell your friends.

Please wear your full face shield – you'll thank me later or cuss yourself for not wearing

it.

Will Release FISA Memo

Deputy White House Press Secretary Raj Shah went on with Stuart Varney on Thursday morning

to discuss the much anticipated release of the House Intelligence FISA memo.

Raj Shah said the President will be briefed today and will make a decision on the classified

memo.

Then after President Trump makes his decision Congress will release the memo.

Raj Shah: This is fundamentally a legislative document and a legislative process.

They voted this out of committee.

We as a White House will consider anything the House Intelligence Committee were to vote

out and work it through the same process We believe again the public has a right to

>>AND HE WEARS TWO SHIRTS WELL HE DOES IT TOO.

WE HAVE BEEN

WATCHING FOR A COUPLE OF SEASONS, WE WATCHED THE FIRST

EPISODE OF THE SEASON AND I'M NOT GOING TO WATCH THE REST OF

IT BECAUSE THE GUY IS SO BORING AND VANILLA, BUT THIS GIRL STOOD

OUT TO ME.

>>SHE HAS THAT RUNAWAY LOOK IN HER EYE.

>>THE VULNERABILITY, I COULD JUST SEE IT.

>>WHEN YOU RUN AWAY AND YOUR MOM IS LIKE, WHERE'S MY DAUGHTER?

HER BIGGEST FEAR IS THAT YOU WILL END UP ON THE BACHELOR.

>>ALSO I'M NO SHERLOCK HOLMES, BUT HUMBOLDT COUNTY -- MOM HAS

BEEN IN A CLOUD OF PURPLE HAZE.

I'M JUST MAKING A WEED JOKE.

EVERYONE IS HIGH.

YO, WHERE'S BECCA?

>>I HAVE A DAUGHTER?

>>ALSO DID ANYONE ELSE READ INTO THAT TWEET, MOM, THERE'S NO

HAD ON TWITTER ALL WEEK.

THEY KEEP YOU VERY DRUNK, VERY

DISCONNECTED, IT'S LIKE BOOT CAMP, IT'S LIKE THE MILITARY.

I'VE NEVER BEEN ON A REALITY SHOW --

>>I WAS GOING TO SAY, HAVE YOU?

>>NO, BUT I'VE READ MANY JEZEBEL ARTICLES.

YOU CAN'T TALK TO

PEOPLE, YOU HAVE TO BE ISOLATED, VERY DRUNK AND UNSTABLE.

>>I KNOW A GUY WHO WAS ON THE SHOW COUGAR TOWN.

COUGAR

SOMETHING, COUGAR ISLAND, MILF ISLAND -- IT WAS THE TV LAND

COUGAR VERSION OF THE BACHELOR, AND EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAID, THE

ONLY THING HE ADDED WAS THAT THEY HAD TO TAKE HERPES

>>HOW DID IT GET ONTO MILF ISLAND?

>>IT'S JUST THAT THEY COVER THEIR BASES, THE INSURANCE

COMPANY IS MAKING EVERYONE VALTREX UP.

>>WHEN I SAW THIS ARTICLE I THOUGHT SHE WAS REPORTED MISSING

DURING THE SHOW, AND I WAS LIKE, I BELIEVE THAT.

I BELIEVE SOMEONE COULD GO MISSING ON THAT SHOW.

>>TO BACKUP THE IDEA THAT MOM WAS A LITTLE STONED, LIKE, SHE

HEARD FROM HER THE NEXT DAY, SHE JUST DIDN'T CALL THE POLICE.

AND THE POLICE COULDN'T REACH HER.

>>THE NEXT TWEET IS GOING TO BE LIKE HEY, HUMBOLDT COUNTY HAS A

Star evolution - Duration: 5:07.

Thats our Sun.

And that's little Earth to right of it.

And the Sun just ate Earth.

Don't worry though, thats not gonna happen to us...

Yet.

(sources/credits in the description)

What I just showed there was the Sun essentially eating Earth.

But that isn't exactly what happens.

The Sun was simply expanding as it was becoming a Red Giant.

And Earth was just a victim in the process.

That is one of many evolutionary paths stars can take. And that path is what our Sun will eventually go through.

But the Sun doesn't start there. Like how you are who are now, the Sun was at one point you can call a baby. A protostar.

Protostars form from Nebulae, which is the fancy word for dust clouds in space.

If I were to explain the whole process, it would take a while. So I'll keep it short.

Inside the Molecular Cloud (Nebula) dense clumps of gas come together by gravity and get bigger until they become cloud fragments.

These cloud framents eventually become protostars, and this whole process takes about 10 million years.

Eventually the protostar accumulates enough mass that it has enough gravity to start fusing atoms.

Which is what a star does.

At this point stars are fusing Hydrogen atoms into Helium atoms in their core for a long time.

How long stars are fusing Hydrogen atoms depends on their mass.

Larger stars fuse Hydrogen and other atoms faster so they have shorter lifetimes.

Smaller stars fuse Hydrogen and other atoms slower so they have longer lifetimes.

Intermediate mass stars, the size of our Sun, 0.8 - 1.4 solar (Sun) masses.

Will last about ten billion years in their Hydrogen fusing phase.

The Sun is about 4.6 billion years old, halfway through it Hydrogen burning phase.

However when all the Hydrogen has been fused into Helium.

The Star will expand into a Red Giant.

And the Star will be fusing Helium atoms into Carbon atoms.

The star will spend a few hundred million years to a billion years fusing these atoms.

After the star fuses all the Helium atoms into Carbon atoms, it sheds its outer layers into a Planetary Nebula.

What's left of the once was Red Giant is now a White Dwarf, the core of the star.

The star will have lost half its mass, but be roughly the size of Earth.

Eventually after hundreds of billions of years, the star will cool into a Black Dwarf.

However even the oldest white dwarfs have yet enough time to cool.

So Black Dwarfs are completely theoretical.

This evolutionary path of stars is available to most stars that are about 0.8 to 8 times the mass of our Sun.

High mass stars follow a sLIGhtly different evolutionary path.

It still starts with a protostar from a molecular cloud to a star.

But this time the star has accumulated more mass, about 8-20 solar masses, and has stronger gravity.

Meaning it fuses Hydrogen into Helium faster, for about 100 million years.

Less than 1% of how long the Sun will fuse Hydrogen.

Meaning it will run out of Hydrogen faster, and become a Red Giant faster, but instead its called a Red Supergiant.

The only difference between a Red Giant and a Red Supergiant is a Red Supergiant is super.

Not really, Red Supergiants are just a lot larger than Redgiants.

In this phase the star is still fusing Helium into Carbon.

But this time it does not stop there, fusing atoms into heavier elements like Neon, Sulfur and Silicon.

The Red Supergiant will then being fusing sILiCOn atoms into Iron atoms.

In some cases this could last a day.

After that Iron can no longer fuse into heavier elements.

So there is no longer anything pushing against the stars gravity.

The star collapses in just a second and explodes in a Supernova Explosion.

What happens next once again depends on the mass of the star.

For stars 8-20 solar masses, they collapse into a Neutron Star.

These stars are comprised almost entirely of neutrons and are extremely dense.

Stars with over 20 solar masses collapse into a Black Hole.

Black Holes have such strong gravity, that not even light can escape it.

Protostars can also turn into a Red Dwarf.

These behave like the typical intermediate mass star, fusing Hydrogen in its core.

But are incredibly small, being 0.08 to 0.6 solar masses.

These stars are so small, that they have much weaker gravity and fuse atoms much slower.

Meaning they can last a long time.

These stars can live to trillions of year, and when all their star buddies die -

They'll be the last light objects in the Universe.

Okay so it should be taken note, that just about everything in this video is not entirely to scale.

Like Neutron stars are actually really small.

Also solar basically means "Sun". So when I say Solar Mass I mean mass of the Sun.

And a mistake I noticed, but was too late to reanimate was that when those two Heliums with 1 neutron fuse -

into your typical Helium, two protons are released.

And also my voice changes pitch a lot, and is a little bit hard to hear.

So, sorry about that.

Suraj On: The New Electorate - Duration: 0:55.

So normally if you're gonna run for office people tell you to go buy a voter file.

The file is six thousand dollars. It tells you the names and addresses and

voting history of every single person that lives in your district this is how

arcane this is — so you now go around knocking on the doors and making phone

calls to and trying to persuade the people who you know are already gonna

vote. That's an abject failure on our part. We've got to blow the whole thing up and

figure out how do we get more people engaged. Now, people always tell me, like

"Why would you run here? New York's blue. It's fine." There's never been any

incentive to innovate or compete. I hope that this campaign can prove that if you

engage every single person and give them the equal dignity and worth they deserve

and hear out their hopes and hear out their challenges — you bottle that all up

and you make an argument that you'll fiercely advocate for them, that they'll

vote. So what we're gonna do is get rid of that voter file, and we're gonna build

a brand new one made up of people like you and me.

Sketching Singapore (Katong) - Koon Seng Road Houses - Duration: 2:39.

Katong is the hub and a melting pot of various cultures consisting of mostly

Malays, Chinese and a dash of Dutch, Portuguese and even Indonesian.

And this my friends is also known as the eclectic Peranakan culture.

Here we are folks, I believe this is the most instagramable residential private housing in Singapore.

My grandma used to be my nanny and I used to live on Tembling Road.

I remembered very vividly that this over here No. 140 and the one across there.

They were provision shops and my granddad used to walk me down this street

to buy eggs and little things you know?

Groceries... and maybe a pack of cigarettes.

Not only is eyecandy for us locals,

the tourists simply enjoy coming here and taking pictures.

I truly believe that this is the heart of Katong.

You're not on East Coast Road where it's lined with eateries, pubs, etc, etc,

but you're really where the locals are.

This place has been conserved to the very last detail.

It's been known that some of these intricately designed motifs

come all the way from England, France and Belgium.

And there we have it.

I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I did putting it together.

You know what to do: SUBSCRIBE or LIKE or SHARE

Once again, this is Alvin Mark here from Katong.

Until the next video... ciao ciao!
