Super Weird Product Placements In Video Games - Duration: 5:25.Advertising products in video games isn't some new phenomenon.
In fact, video games have been trying to sell you things for decades — you just might
not have realized it.
Here are a few of the weirdest — and most manipulative — product placements in video
game history.
Battlefield 4
Way back in 2014, gamers booting up Battlefield 4 were suddenly treated to a thoughtful recommendation
courtesy of publisher EA to check out the then-upcoming Need for Speed film.
Wait — sorry — did we say "thoughtful recommendation?"
Sorry, We meant "blatant attempt at milking their fans wallets for more cashola."
Basically, EA had snuck a glorified pop-up ad into the already-troubled shooter's menu.
Needless to say, fans were not pleased.
Keep in mind, this came just a year after Consumerist voted EA the worst company in
America — and many a disgruntled gamer was not afraid to remind the gaming giant that
these dirty tactics were exactly why so many gamers had given up on them.
Darkened Skye
The cover of Boston Animation's Darkened Skye evokes a gritty fantasy action RPG complete
with a feisty Lara Croft-esque hero, a gloomy world to explore, and mysterious magic forces
to master.
Know what it doesn't evoke?
Skittles.
But, alas, everybody's favorite flamboyant cousin of the M&M plays a pretty vital part
in the painfully overdramatic — oddly philosophical — adventure title from 2002.
"What's the meaning of… me?
Who am I in this world?"
See, the creatively named Skye — that's the scowl-y woman on the cover — can only
use magic after she's collected the necessary combinations of Skittles.
The game scored lukewarm reviews, despite the incredibly goofy product placement.
Honestly, we're not sure what's more shocking: the fact that anybody played this thing, the
fact that some critics actually enjoyed it, or the fact that a boardroom full of actual
adult executives gave it the green light.
Sneak King
Remember when Burger King tried its hand at promotional video games?
PocketBike Racer and Big Bumpin', in a weird double-cross-promotion with the once-relevant
Brooke Burke, were fairly standard racing and bumper car games— something to pass
the time on a particularly boring afternoon in 2006.
But, the third game in BK's peculiar trilogy, Sneak King, is less time-killer and more,
well, person-killer.
"He appears out of nowhere.
You've always wondered: who's behind the mask?"
Sneak King is a stealth-styled game in which The King must sneak up behind people and surprise
them with Value Meals.
Burke was left out of this stealth title, presumably because Burger King didn't want
to promote the idea that the real-life Brooke Burke was some unholy Solid Snake burger Santa.
Meat-creeping is questionable as a fictional video game activity … but it's even worse
in real life.
M.C.
Kids
Of course, meat patty magnate McDonald's had already beaten Burger King to the shameless
video game tie-in punch.
Back in 1992, Virgin Interactive published M.C.
Kids, a game based on the storybook McDonaldland universe in which a couple of kids have to
reclaim Ronald's stuff from the Hamburglar yet again — because McDonaldland jail bars
are apparently just soggy french fries.
In a truly Vader-esque twist, the game's final showdown happens inside a volcano, where you
have to fight Ronald's magic bag of tricks, because, apparently, it's sentient.
And evil.
Or something.
We're not saying that George Lucas stole the script for Revenge of the Sith from M.C.
Kids, but it's definitely a conversation worth having with your prequel trilogy apologist
buddies.
As if you need any more evidence that all product-centric video game tie-ins are literally
interchangeable, chew on this McNugget of knowledge: the European port of M.C.
Kids — the creatively titled McDonald Land — was originally eventually brought to the
GameBoy.
Only, it was re-worked to fit into 7-Up's Cool Spot franchise, and it was renamed Spot:
The Cool Adventure.
Pesterminator: The Western Exterminator
It's hard to tell if Pesterminator: The Western Exterminator was a success or a failure in
video game product placement.
On one hand, a relatively small number of people would have ever heard of the Western
Exterminator Company were it not for this barely known, off-brand NES game from 1990.
On the other, even awareness of this awful game, in which you play as an avatar of the
company's mascot doesn't inspire much faith in exterminators operating out of Nevada,
Arizona, and California.
Ultimately, the rat-smashing Kernel Kleanup made a wimpy debut, but with his parent exterminator
company still going strong almost 30 years later, it's clear that no companies were harmed
in the making of this game.
The same cannot be said for the poor, poor souls subjected to its repetitive, infinitely
unchallenging gameplay.
Spot
No, we didn't forget about this rad little dude.
There was a time when you could slap a pair of kick-ass sunglasses on literally anything
and call it a mascot — even a lowly red dot.
Thus was born 7-Up's laziest mascot: Spot.
And, because old business-type men in business-type suits are some of the most creative people
on God's green Earth, Spot was given his own video game… also titled Spot.
Not only is Spot for the NES a terrible ripoff of the simpler and less annoying Othello,
but it actively made anyone who played the game hate 7-Up.
The game had nothing to do with soft drinks, or enjoyment of any kind, but was still followed
up by a couple of more marginally superior 7-Up games: Cool Spot and Spot Goes to Hollywood,
plus that whole carbon copy of McDonald Land deal from earlier.
Still, the crimson disc wasn't doing anyone any favors, and his original game from 1990
was an absolute bust.
"Want some?"

Success: Focus on Incremental Progress and Ignore Distractions - Duration: 4:46.How to be successful. David Jaffee with BestStockStrategy.com where i teach people how
to earn money in the stock market. i make around a million dollars a year by
trading stock options I believe I'm the only legitimate stock market coach and
I'm definitely one of the best traders in the world I can tell you that in
order to be more successful you have to focus and ignore distractions and focus
on incremental progress that's pretty much it if you're able to focus and
block out all the distractions all the misinformation and not get distracted by
all the other competing information sources and you are completely okay with
making incremental progress then you will eventually be successful so a good
example of this is if you find if you're 20 years old and you have the ability to
work in a job that pays you $75,000 dollars a year but it's in a
field that you don't necessarily like and you're not passionate about versus
working in a field where you can learn and earn $30,000 dollars a year but is
something that you're really passionate about that you enjoy you would be doing
yourself a large huge disservice if you don't choose the $30,000 a year job
because what you can do is you can earn more money every single year by choosing
that job so for example if you work in that job for 10 years and you know that
is something that you're passionate about you can turn it into a career so
maybe the first year you earn $30,000 the next year you earn $35,000 the next year you
earn $38,000 by year 10 you're probably gonna earn a $130,000 dollars
dollars right maybe even more than that you'll find a way because you're
passionate about it to become an expert in your field and you can add ancillary
sources of income to increase the amount of income debt that you're making in
that career choice but if you choose the job that is paying you 75 thousand
dollars a year but you're not passionate about it you might end up making your
fifth year like two hundred thousand but after five years you're gonna stop doing
it and they are gonna start over from zero so you've traded time for money but
the people who have made the educated decision where they're thinking long
term and they're thinking about making their thing about me
incremental progress and they've been able to block out the distractions of
accepting that higher paying job because they know that even though they're not
going to be tempted by earning more money because they know that that is it
distractions this is not in something that they can view themselves doing long
term then those people who choose the $30,000 a year job in ten or twenty
years are going to be worth ten to twenty times more than the person who
took the quick money and is not making incremental progress additionally by
choosing that job in a field that they're not that they're not passionate
about that person is usually going to feel some cognitive dissonance inside
they're gonna feel like you sell out they're gonna feel like people can buy
their time and they're gonna feel regret for entering into that job in a field
that they're not passionate about whereas someone who is working in the
job that pays them thirty thousand dollars they're gonna feel secure about
their choice they're gonna feel less stressed they're gonna feel less
pressure about changing careers and really that's what it comes down to you
have to block out distractions you have to play the long game and you have to
focus on making small incremental progress and that's something that
people have a lot of problem with people are not disciplined they try to make
quick money they don't invest in their future they always try to invest in the
really short term you make sure and have short term gains and engaging like those
quick fix dopamine hits that's why people like eat McDonald's or they'll go
out and go drink and they'll get drunk even though they know that for the
long-term it's not good for them you really have to think long term all of
the most successful people in the world have a long term vision and they build
products that have sustainability and that have been around and will be around
for a long period of time if you just keep jumping from job to job and you try
making quick money that is not how you're gonna be happy
it's not going to be it's not gonna be a way for you to be successful this is
David Jaffee with BestStockStrategy.com Please like comment share and subscribe
to this video and to this channel if you have any questions or comments then
leave them below I respond to every single comment
and really the main takeaway from this video is that you have to focus on
taking small incremental improvements and also you know just focus on making
small small incremental improvements and also blocking out distractions so that
you can focus only on the most important things thank you very much

Top 3 Best Custom Game Modes in Overwatch - Duration: 6:17.At a time where the developers aren't exactly the fastest in releasing new content, players
often end up making their own fun.
Passionate communities all over the world in all kinds of games have turned to making
their own game modes that weren't even supported in any direct way by the game itself.
Thankfully, Overwatch has the option for us to create custom games.
As limited as it may feel in some regards, there is still a lot of fun to be had in making
your own game modes.
And some of them are surprisingly simple to set up, but ever the more fun to play.
Now, in today's video, I want to present my personal top 3 best custom game modes that
I love playing.
Needless to say that it's always more fun to play them with friends, but you can also
just set up an open lobby and play them with random people.
We're gonna be kicking this list off with a game mode that is a bit more out there when
it comes to the ruleset.
That means that you can't actually enforce your rules via the custom game creator.
And that's why it's Number 3.
However, even when I play this game mode with random people, once everyone understood the
ruleset, there was still a lot of fun to be had.
And the other 2 game modes are actually held entirely within rulesets that you can enforce
on a settings level.
Now let's get this party started with Number 3- Infection.
The set up phase is very simple because it's just a regular FFA.
The rules that every player has to abide by though consist of the following:
Every player preferably starts off on a different hero.
And every time somebody takes you out, you have to switch to the hero that got you upon
respawning.
Do not attack other players who also got infected.
You are essentially creating a make-shift team with anyone who plays the same hero.
The game ends when everyone was infected and has to play the same character.
It's very reminiscent of zombie type game modes you have probably seen in various other
games where the point is to infect every player in the lobby.
Now obviously there are a couple downsides to this game mode because there is no way
for non-infected players to win, as would be the case in other games.
But it's still a fun game mode to play with friends who you know will stick to the rules.
When I played this game mode in open lobbies, the owner usually just kicked players who
didn't stick to the rules.
And the worst that I have seen when it comes to cheating is that players have killed their
own comrades to avoid them having to switch to a different hero when they were on low
HP.
Nonetheless, it's a game mode I highly recommend you give a shot.
Number 2 on our list is something for all of you who have trouble accepting the MOBA
esque nature of Overwatch.
At the end of the day, they are marketing the game as an FPS, but you rarely get the
feeling that it plays like one.
To get the satisfaction of clicking heads without having to pay attention to MOBA type
abilities on cooldown, I recommend the good ol' fashion Widow Headshot FFA.
Now listen- I know that a lot of people like to claim that Widowmaker is such an incredibly
difficult hero because 'oh my god you actually have to aim' but honestly, if you have played
First Person Shooters in the past, then I am sure you're gonna get a kick out of this
one.
The set up is very simple- Widowmaker only, headshot only, disable venom
mine and regular shooting and put the grappling hook on a short cooldown.
After all, trick shots are where it's at.
Chateau is a good map for this game mode, but you should keep a few things in mind:
For one, I don't recommend making the lobby bigger than 12 players because at that point,
it can get frustrating to have somebody look at you at all times whenever you respawn.
6-12 players is what I found worked the best, even for players who aren't usually playing
Widowmaker.
It's enough players for you to be able to get the jump on somebody, but not so many
that you always have a crosshair on you upon respawning.
And after playing this a few times, even friends of mine who play tanks and supports without
a lot of FPS experience managed to pull of some sick shots.
King's Row is another great map for this game mode and I know that people like to use
Necropolis aswell, but personally I found it to be very annoying that everyone spawns
on rooftops most of the game with very little cover available.
It just felt too chaotic to me.
So yeah- Widow Headshot FFA might not make you a god-sniper in competitive play, but
it's definitely a fun classic you can pull out whenever you wanna click some heads without
getting jumped on by monkeys and robo ninjas all the time.
And lastly on our list, my favorite game mode that can be equally as fun with random people
as much as it is a ton of fun when played with friends:
Number 1- Mystery FFA.
You know every time people give me a hard time about using footage where I play Roadhog
in FFA, which is universally seen as a scummy thing to do?
Yeah, that's not by choice.
Mystery FFA, as the name implies, combines the ruleset of Mystery Heroes with some good
ol' fashion FFA.
That means that every time you get taken out, you spawn as a random, new hero.
You can play it on any map with pretty much as many players as you like and chances are
that you'll have fun playing it.
There are a few things you should pay attention to though.
For example, some heroes just aren't very fun to play as or against.
Which heroes that includes is obviously up to you and your friends.
In our circle of friends, we have decided that the following heroes should be disabled
for an optimal experience: Baguette, D.Va, Moira, Symmetra, Sombra, Hammond
and Zarya.
Being one of the best 1v1 heroes in the game, I don't think I have to explain why we excluded
the shieldmaiden.
But when it comes to Symmetra and Sombra- They're just plain annoying.
And I guess the same goes for Hammond and Moira to a certain extent aswell.
Zarya isn't part of the crew simply because it's really difficult to get to high charge
in an FFA, so playing her just feels like a chore.
There are other heroes we didn't exclude, like Torbjorn and Mercy for example, just
because there is great meme potential to be had.
Hammering or pistol whipping somebody to death is usually just pretty funny to us.
But hey, if you can't stand Doomfist and Roadhog, or if you dread playing Orisa and
Reinhardt- Then you can just disable them.
Since you can enforce all of the rules on a settings basis, it's a great game mode
to play with either your friends or random people in custom games.
You can also play it on any map you like with any amount of players, so long that you get
at least 5, is what I would say.
And this already concludes today's video on my personal Top 3 best custom game modes
in Overwatch.
What I love about these is their simplicity.
There are obviously other game modes you can have a lot of fun with, but they usually require
players to adhere to rules you can't enforce in the settings.
Or I just plain and simply don't like them, which is why they didn't make the list.
But hey, if you got any other fun game modes you want to share, let us know about them
down in the comment section below.
But this is it for me here today, so thank you everybody so much for watching, don't
forget to drop me a like on your way out if you enjoyed the video, subscribe if you wanna
see more, and maybe share this video with a friend you think would find it interesting.
Thanks again for watching and I hope to see you all next time.

Viterbi Split Mechanical Keyboard Build & Review - Duration: 11:33.Recently, I've built the Iris split keyboard, and the Dilly 30% board, which are both super
interesting DIY kits from Keebio.
I don't want to be so preachy, but I really do love the range of PCBs they offer, as they
give me a base to build keyboards from.
So today we're going check out the Viterbi 70% split ortholinear mechanical keyboard.
Alright so here we have the Viterbi PCB's.
And this is all I ordered from them, but you can get plates, cases, and other accessories
from them as well.
This is a split keyboard, so we have a pair of bare PCBs which are identically the same,
as the components can be soldered to either side.
You will require a soldering station to complete the PCBs, which you can learn to do very easily
with a couple of video tutorials, which I'll link in the description.
I forgot to do it here.
But make sure you put in the headers of the Pro Micro's in before the keyswitches.
But do not solder the actual Pro Micro until the very end.
I've hand cut a plate before, and it's the absolute worst thing to do.
So I got some 3mm acrylic plates cut by my friend Laser_Ninja.
Keebio do sell plates of course, but I made a few changes to mine, using the plate files
that they have on Github.
I basically just gave more room for some bezel, as normally there is none.
For the actual case, I'm using the same old polycarbonate sheets that I've been
using for my other handmade cases.
Honestly, having the scroll saw has really made making cases easy, without having to
spend much at all.
As you may have seen, I've already made the Pain27, and the Dilly, using the scroll
saw, and I love it.
Although it's still all pretty much free hand, as you're just following lines.
So you still have to do a lot of fixing up and checking to make sure things line up and
fit.
And then of course sanding and filling up at the end of it.
Having a disc and belt sander certainly does help a heap with making everything much faster.
With all the equalling out, I ended up with about 11mm bezels, so I'm pretty happy with
that.
Priming the case is super important as it helps the paint stick to the case.
But more importantly, it helps fill in all the gaps and scratches.
The worse it is, the more times you'll have to prime and sand.
The person I'm building this for wanted the case to be a nice simple white.
With painting, patience is the number 1 thing.
You just gotta be patient, as a mistake can bring you back an hour or sometimes a day,
so just take your time.
For the keyswitches we have Aliaz silents.
These are 70g ones, and are tactile switches, and like other silent switches, these have
the little dampeners on the stem to of course dampen
the sound.
The last bit is to solder in the Pro Micros, which powers the Viterbi.
But before that we have to flash them to ensure they work, because desoldering Pro Micro's
is one of the most difficult things possible.
To learn how to flash the Pro Micro's I'll have a link in the description.
Being a split keyboard, we have our master side, and our slave side.
So my left PCB will be my master, and will have the Pro Micro with the components facing
down.
And the right side will be my slave, with the Pro Micro facing the other way.
The keycaps I have here are just a temporary set, until the owner gets the actual set he
wants.
For now we got this completely 1u DSA keyset in white and blue.
And to finish it off, just a little surprise for ya.
So I wasn't sure on how I would join the two pieces together, but I wanted something
different.
There wasn't a hole lot of space in the bezels, so I got these 5mm neodymium magnets
which fit nicely into the corners, instead of using screws.
And they work pretty well.
Ideally I would have a few more magnets around the sides, but the bezels aren't really
thick enough, so yeh.
The hold is pretty good though, like they won't separate out of nowhere, but I definitely
would have liked a bit more strength.
And having those completely hidden, it allows us to have this super clean aesthetic.
I'm really happy with how it actually looks.
I went for a high profile design, so there needed to be bezels to cover the keyswitches.
And I do like me some healthy bezels to give it some substance and a good physical presence.
Alright, so to the actual keyboard.
This is a 70% split ortholinear keyboard.
So we have exactly 70 keys, in a grid layout.
So it's pretty sizable, being bigger than other popular split ortho's like the Let's
Split, and Nyquist.
And I really do like the size.
It gives us room for everything that we need, like dedicated arrow keys, all our mods, and
nav cluster keys.
We can also have 2u keys in the corners here, but we opted to just go with all 1u keys.
So it actually wasn't that difficult to use for me, since I wasn't really using
any layers, because we have everything I really need.
It's only the ortholinear nature that I had to adapt to as always.
But honestly after a few hours of use, it's not so bad.
The 70g Aliaz keyswitches were fun to play with as well.
I do like silent keyswitches, with their dampened feel, and of course quiet output.
The tactile bump is pretty decent as well, being quite smooth and prominent.
The only other silent tactile I've had proper experience with are the Zilent's, and it's
always difficult to compare them without being side to side.
Plus the case and plate always make a big difference to both the feel and sound, because
they're still quite audible in this.
Overall, I'm really pleased with the final result.
It's definitely not perfect, as most of the cuts are just freehand, and the white
finish isn't completely even.
But yeh, still happy.
I do enjoy using split keyboards, but the ortholinear nature just isn't for me personally.
But I know the owner will be absolute fine with it.
Again, big thumbs up to Keebio for having these fun unique PCBs to play around with,
and just giving us more layout options.
It gives me the chance to experiment like with the magnets, and just make what I want
to make.

How to make Nanaimo bars | The Great Canadian Baking Show - Duration: 2:06.ROCHELLE: I'm gonna show you how to make Nanaimo bars,
Canada's classic, and it's really easy.
So we're gonna start with the crust.
We've got crushed up graham crackers,
some walnuts, coconut,
cocoa powder of course, some sugar, salt.
Toss all the ingredients together...
Add our melted butter,
one beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
Then, bring it all together with a spatula.
Toss this till it's just come together
and then we're gonna press it into our square pan.
It's really important to just even distribute the crumble mix.
I'm pretty happy with that so I'm gonna put it in the oven.
While the base is cooling,
I'm gonna make my custard icing.
I've got softened butter
and I'm going to mix that
with my custard powder.
Once the custard powder is well mixed,
we'll add two tablespoons of milk
and I'm just gonna wing the vanilla
because I like vanilla. Salt and sugar.
Continue mixing it with the beater
until it's really light and fluffy.
It's ready when it looks like a lovely
butter-creamy frosting.
Then we'll spread this beautiful filling onto the base.
Evenly distribute this cream right to the edges.
Beautiful.
Now that the custard icing has set,
we add the chocolate layer.
We've just got our chocolate and our butter.
I've just gently melted it in the microwave.
Take it to the edges
and then I'm just gonna angle my palette knife
to create a beautiful pattern
and back in the fridge for about 30 minutes
or just until the chocolate layer has set.
The perfect Nanaimo bar with a baked crusty bottom,
a lovely custardy filling and a chocolate top.
Enjoy.

Deepening the entry masks with the field Date of birth and Telephone of the Database - Duration: 18:13.Hello again Infonauta, welcome or welcome to a new installment of your YouTube channel Infoductiva ...
this time we will continue with the course of databases
and in this particular video we are going to delve
in the input masks
interesting, right?
We begin ...
good first
I'm going to focus on the table students
I'm going to start
ending
all the field of date of birth ...
for this I will fill in a fourth student in this case
Julia ...
López
Alvarez
and then at the time of writing the date of birth notice that here we have the date box ... remember that this is
as a selector to be able to select a date
next to which we are
in the current day
since if this is going to help me to put a date of birth it does not make sense for us to use
this selector since we would have to leave until the year in question, go backwards during
enough pulsations ... in short this is interesting stop when we have to put a date close
to the creation date for example
from the student
so
first issue to consider
with the entrance masks ... the entrance masks
we only have to use them in case we have clear the fixed mold to be used at the time of entering data if it is not so
let's say that field in question in which you are you thinking
he is not a suitable candidate
to be able to add input mask ... second
the entrance masks
do not support, for example, the fact that you have this date selector enabled
so that having these two limitations clear
what I'm going to do is go to the design
from the table in question, to the design
from the students table
and what I'm going to do is in the date field
turn off the display
of this selector
for this I am going to put a date already ... observe that when entering I can write letters
which should not be like that ... I can enter scripts ... okay?
Take this into account for what we are going to do next and I am going to put you on the date of birth because on the 20th, for example
of the deck
of the year 2010 so that it has the same age as the rest of companions
in the selector
I will select female
in the hair color I will select
blond
in the color of eyes I will select
green
and street ...
my street ...
33
and I will leave the data by default and then observe in the case of
the phone as you see does not let me enter
nothing more than
agreement numbers?
and how do you see me represented with underscores
what we would have to introduce ... well in principle I'm going to put a
fictional phone
let's go back
here
926 444 444 ... well, I already have introduced
the new student ... the new student
Julia ... well ...
let's go to the design of the table ... we will select the date of birth ...
and in the sub options remember that we have here
the option to show the date selector of so that
I will never select
agree? then I will close ... I will save the changes
I'm going to open the table again
So you can see that the selection selector does not appear when the date is selected?
I'm going back to design
of Table and then we will focus on the input mask for the date of birth of the student
in principle, he should only
allow to write numbers well? in the input masks for the direct input of numbers
There are two characters ... okay? At first
we can
use the 9 for example
99/99/9999
99/99/9999
99/99/9999
it would be an optional entry mask
remember I'm doing it with the same mold of the date format that we have ... like
we have selected short date remember that the short date are two digits for the day
/ two digits for
the month / four digits for the agreed year?
then as I was saying the entrance mask the 9 in the entrance mask mean
have to enter for each 9 a digit or a number from 0 to 9
optionally
all right? that is, the user can write a digit or for every 9 that there is but does not require him to enter
in this case the 8 digits ... in agreement? so this would not be the most appropriate ...
let's check how it works
let's open the table students
and then I will delete March 20, 2010
and now I can put 20
I'm going to put for example just a 3 here
and of 2010
I pulse enter and as you see you have entered it but you have accepted me to introduce only and exclusively
one digit when I said that they are 2 since this is optional ... remember the 9
in the input masks is optional digit entry ... digit I mean numbers from 0 to 9
well, if we want it to be mandatory to have to introduce
these eight digits basically instead of using
the character 9 we should use the character 0 ie
00/00/0000
00/00/0000
00/00/0000
00/00/0000
all right? by doing so we are forcing
let's close and say yes
I'm going to open the table again
and I'm going to erase it again
this birth date of March 20
and then I will put 20, I will try to move, I will put a 3 and I will put 2010 by pressing enter as you see
He is giving me an error, he is telling me that I am not respecting the entrance mask
So with this you already have to be clear that every time you use a 9 in the input mask
is that you optionally allow the user to enter a number from 0 to 9
but we do use the character 0 we are
asking that it be mandatory
your fill then I will reselect it
and now when you enter 20 03 2010 and press enter I accept it perfectly
agree?
next I will go back to the design of the table
to clarify
already more in depth than
the entrance masks actually
When we introduce an input mask, the input masks must have
three separate parts
with semicolons (;) as is usual in Excel and Access also in other languages
but basically what I mean is that with this I'm defining the input mask
but there are other things that can be defined
for example
the 2nd paragraph after the (;) would be the one that allows me to indicate
if you have to store all the data or just those we have written
all right?
so here we only have the possibility to indicate it by means of a zero or a one ... if after the (;) that is to say in the second section
we enter a zero in the input mask this indicates that the characters of the mask will be stored with the data ie the
bars or any sign we would have written as constant, okay? in this case as
they are all of them, not only the 8 that we write but the two bars (/)
that is to say the ten characters, we want them to be stored here we would have to put after the (;) a zero
agree? below (;) because there is a third section
and you have already observed
when
we are introducing
the date actually
what we find
is that they appear at the bottom
underscores (_)
lines in the base of the characters that we are writing
if we wanted to change that character because that underline character is used by default, so we would have to
to do is after the second (;) that is, in the third section
introduce what character we want us to use in this case, for example
the script of agreement?
how do you see the first section
that is, until you reach the first (;)
we are defining the input mask after the first (;) or between the first and the second a zero means that the
characters that we have not introduced but that are in the mask
and after the second and last (;)
we put the character we want to appear
symbolizing that we must fill in ... in agreement?
press enter ... let's go to visualize ... let's save the table
and then when ...
we are going to erase this ... how do you see when you enter now the input mask is reflecting me
the characters that I have to fill out
with scripts so that we could write again the same
all right?
suppose we want to change them for a slightly more distinctive character, for example, use the (*) and we will put here
an asterisk ... press enter ... we return to visualize the table after saving it
and then I delete a date
observe that an asterisk appears for each character that I am asking
So this is not just for numbers remember that the masks are made up of three parts that allow us to select
or define what we want to be the characters that symbolize
the one that we have to introduce
a character in that position
and in this video you have to be clear that we are using
in the input mask or 9 or 0 ... if we use 9 it means that
are optional characters that the user will enter, that is, if you do not want to, you do not have to enter all of them
but if we put zeros we are forcing it to be exactly that amount
of numeric characters entered ... okay?
Well, we have already clarified this, I will initially leave it with a script instead of with an asterisk
and then we can look
the phone number ... in the phone number remember that we did
with 9 so that now with what we know
this tells us or you have to say that we are asking the user to enter nine
optional figures
so if I enter 4 the database would accept it
agree? if I introduce less
of which we are indicating here and we have said
or we said in his day that there was a space
after each block of three, to separate it as traditionally is usually done here
well, let's check that this is how we just talked
so that for example in the phone number of any student
if we delete the phone number here
we could enter 926 and give it to enter and we would have accepted it ... I'm going to expand it so that
you see it in full as you see and this is not a valid phone number so that
the entrance mask is not doing its full function and on the other hand
the underscores (_)
or the underline symbol indicates the three blocks of three that must be entered
good with what we already know
we will go
let's enter a new phone number because otherwise it does not comply ... here ... and then we will go
to the design of the table
we leave it as it is but in the entrance mask with what we already know we could say
to be mandatory the introduction of the nine-digit agreement?
we could say 000 would be mandatory script (-) because I want there to be a specific sign that in this case we do not want to save
000 - 000
agree? then;
and in this case I do not want to save
the data the scripts are saved so that so
in the second part of the input mask we should not use a 0
since this would do as in the previous case
save me those signs that I am using as constants so that here as is logical we will have to put 1
below (;) again
and the sign that we want to be used
as a fill-in selector
in this case for example I'm going to put the asterisk (*) again pulse enter
and then
let's see the table ... we will select the phone of the student Julia and we will delete it ... as you see here
the asterisks appear indicating that I have to enter nine digits
and among them the script ... the script remembers
we do not want it to be part of the mask that Reality is saved
basically just the number, so here we are going to fill in again 926 if I pulse
enter gives me an error because it tells me hey it does not match the mask that you've
indicated, the one you have specified so that what you intend to enter
does not comply with that data entry rule well?
clarified this we will continue to write the phone number
and press enter ... really inside the database
having put the 1 in the 2nd paragraph of the mask is not keeping me
the 11 digits, that is, the nine digits and the two dashes, not ...
If so, would it give us an error because? because this field we have defined as a number and a script as well you know is not part of that type of data
so in the 2nd section we have put a 1 so that only 926 keeps us
444 444 according? this information is very important and in future videos I will continue
deepening with the input masks since apart from having these two characters
to be able to enter
number ... digits from 0 to 9 both optionally
which are the movements, as in a mandatory way that are the zeros in the entrance mask we are
with that there are 10 or 12 more signs that we can use within the entrance mask not only these two and we will see them in future videos ...

#55 - The Roman aqueduct of Peña Cortada - Duration: 7:23.Hi Everybody. Today we came to
the Roman aqueduct of Peñacortada.
I hope you like it
The Roman aqueduct of Peña Cortada, with
more than 26 kms long, is the fourth longer
in Spain. It's name is because of the breach done
in a rock to get material for the construction of one
of the bridges. Other parts of the aqueduct are
tunnels dug in the rocks.
This is Peña Cortada (cut rock)
and this is the bridge of the cat's cave, with
18 meters high and 1.5 meters wide.
