CORÉE VS FRANCE : COMMENT "PUNIR" SON ENFANT ? - Duration: 11:01.
Today i'm gonna talk about different punishment way between french parents and korean parents
I thought the most severe punishment is korean way
But i watched one documentary about french parent's education and punishment
French way look so severe too so i wanna compare what is differenc between korean and french
Whenevere i made mistakes and faults, they hit my back like that
But the most common way, we use some tools for punishment
We call that "LOVE STICK"
I know it sounds like weird. Every single family we have this stick at home
So whenever kids need punishment parents have used this stick
- It works like that still now? - Yes i think so?
- I mean still in this generation too? not only your generation? - Yes maybe it become less severe but yes still works like that
Whenever i made mistakes when i was young, she always had showed me this stick and explain me what did i wrong, why she had to punish me
And then we might make some negotiations "How many punishment do you need to realize your fault" like that
So i always answered "i can realize my faults without any punishment" but it didn't work at all
So when she suggest me something for punishment 99% i had to accept that i have no choice
Normally they hit my hands or legs
Why?
Why this zone?
Um... I don't know...?
Hands and legs are most common part for punishment in korea
But i don't know why this zone exactly
So you can punish your kid in legally?
I think so? this kind of punishment is kind of society things
Also sometimes i should write papers about what kind of mistake i made, how much i regret. and i had to show my parent for that
"Look at that mommy and daddy how much i regret!!!"
Or...sometimes i should go out from home . i think this is just only my generation not anymore
Get out from house?
So when i had to get out from house, i always went play ground becuase there were a lot of kid always
So when i played with my friends in play ground their parents asked me what's happen to you like that
If i explaned my situations they just invite me their home and offer me diner . Of course they told my parent your daughter is here like that
We had safe community like little village
Little village
All of neighbors are so close together, so at this moment it worked in my childhood
But i'm not sure for now
Do you think it is different now?
Because neighbor is not that much close together like past so to let kid go out is dangerous
In school, if i make mistake or didnt finish my homework or fight with my friends, teacher had punished us with stick too
Here?
No here
Hands or ass...
Your ass?
Yes... ass too!!
But fortunately not anymore in school... it was my generation not new generation
France too, my and my brother generation we had be punished here! end of finger
- So hard! - Yes looks like! - when i was elementary school...
Korean parent accepted teacher's punishment because this is for student's education
Especially If i had problems with society rule, my manner and morality i get a lot of punishment
But french never use any tools for punishment right?
No?? at all?
I read one article they slap kids cheeks
Once again french punishment is different depending on family becuase france is multi culture country
Sorry mom if you watch this video, personally when i made huge mistake just blahhhhh!!!!
So when you got it you could see stars and realized for your fault so well
I could go galaxy so quickly
It works well cuz it made me don't repeat same mistake anymore
Do you have the other punishments? like getting out things?
Getting out? never my mom never accept i go out home like that because she was worried about situations i think
- So what kind of the other ways..? - go your room or clean your room...
My step father he said to me "you should fall aslepe 9 pm "
Becuase i would to watch TV lately too
But he said "No tonight 9 pm"
Ah this kind of punishment
But i was 14 at this moment why he said that !!
I'm sure even he will tell me that
"go to bed 9 pm"
Oh I Love you dad
They just made me understand something wrong
But never let me go somewhere
I have no idea for french punishment now
Because i saw some french law it is changed like you can't hit your kid
- with hand too? - yes... we call that
Can you make some comments for that? because personally i have no idea
A lot of things are changed so quickly since our generation
We just talk about our generation and experiences
What about in french school
When you make mistake or fault, teacher can punish you? - NO way
No way?
No way they can't
What is teacher's role?
Maybe teacher make you stay school more, for example elementary school finish 4 but you should stay untill 5 or 6 and just you should finish your homework
But never physical punishment
Teacher can give you some penalty score too?
-Yes - it works?
No
- Never works - of course it doesn't work with teenager
So one day if french teacher punish students with stick in korean way
No impossible
- Impossible? - Teacher will go jail
Really? -Yes
Who knows maybe student is too much rude or ganster so it disturb class
Yes Yes but even this...
Why
What is teacher's role
Teacher always have to teach good way for manner, morality too
Actually no...
Why teacher is another parent in school
Mathmatics teacher doesn't need to teach you morality things just teaching math
We have different justice for teacher. In korea we consider teacher as second parent in school
French... no... at all
And did you have thinking chair punishment too?
Thinking chair
Yes thinking chair!
No
But teacher said like go on the border there!
You just should look at the wall right? - Yes
Suddenly i remember if teacher doesn't want to punish us physically, they make us like that ! this is the other common way
We had to do that ....
At least it is useful for your body
This is training
yes
This one is common
So if we have kid, which way do you wanna take it ?
Depending where we live
- Depending on country? - Yes
If we live in france i can't punish with love stick right?
Maybe we should check some laws....
But if we live in korea we can follow korean way
Of course
Maybe french punishment way is a little bit weird for me
You accept the country's rule where we live
Do you think parent need physical punishment for kid's education?
No i don't think so?
No physical punishment doesn't mean i will not handle kid's education. i can handle that with my strong voice. my voice will be impressed !
I'm sure about it
As you said, there are a lot of cultures and different family way in france
So if your family has the other ways can you make comments becuase i wonder for the others
Me too
punishment is different depending on New generations and family's own rules..
Thank you to watch my video today too
I'm super happy you watch my video
And i always read all of comments so if you make one i will be super happy too
Yes me too!
Dada's secret make a lot of good promotions too
10 Products are 20 euro!!!
20 euro?? - yes
I'm crazy i think
i think so
I think you will lost your money
After you watch my video don't forget like my video and subscribe my channel too!
If you wonder my life you can visit my instagram! you can see how much we enjoy our life so well
I'm gonna back with another amazing video again!

What's On My Phone🤔 | Ilayda Akdogan - Duration: 18:09.
I'm here in front of you guys with one of the most wanted videos: What's in my phone?
I also don't know what's in my phone. I mean there are some things which I am not sure about.
I'm pretty sure that there are millions of applications which I downloaded but forgot about because I am one of those people who download and forget.
Let's have a look together at what I have in phone.
There isn't much on the first page as you can see.
I have the most necessary applications here. The wonderful 4 are down below; Instagram, Apple Music, Twitter and Whatsapp.
Other than those, there is a finance section here. I have no idea why it is named ''finance'' but it is also a section in which I have my life saver applications.
I have the most frequently used apps in the first page like Google Maps, Youtube, whoever is using that.
I have two applications below which I use for school: It's Learning and OIS. I study at Bahçeşehir University, we contact with our lecturers through these apps.
Youtube Studio takes place under that. Content creators follow their statistics, comments, views on Youtube Studio.
Sahibinden.com takes place under that. I love Sahibinden. Even when I don't have anything to do with it
I still open it and have a look at the general house and car prices.
Here is the other page. The importance ranking starts to decrease a little bit.
On Turkcell My Account app, I shake my phone every week and get new prizes.
I'm not very lucky all the time but I win 2GB occasionally.
I have the Platinum app above it in which you can view your privileges if you are a Turkcell Platinum customer.
I think we all have E-Devlet on our phones. I have Pinterest and WeHeartIt, I like them both but I started using Pinterest more recently.
What I mean by using is I just open it, have a look and exit, I don't adjust my panel on it or anything.
I have a game called Peek which helps you do some brain gymnastics. I no longer play it but it used to be fun. I got bored of it after a while.
Here is the third page. I know Tumblr is dead. I don't use it either, I don't know why it's still here.
There is WeTransfer next to it. You can sen files from WeTransfer.
SpeedTest takes place next to it. What SpeedTest does is it measures the speed of the internet you are connected to.
You can also figure out if you have ran out of quota.
Upcall is underneath it. I love Upcall because if people who are members of Upcall call you, you can see the name of the caller on the screen.
That's why it's a life saver because sometimes we might not want to answer the calls from people we do not know.
If that person isn't saved into my guide, I pick up the phone like ''Who is it?'', feeling a little weird.
That's why it's pretty life saving to me. There is Lifebox next to it, I downloaded it from Turkcell for storage purposes but I didn't use it much.
I don't know why I didn't use it. My phone's storage is enough for me right now, I don't feel the need to use it.
Flo takes place next to it which is one of my favorite applications. You insert your period schedule into Flo and follow your own period cycle.
It's a pretty useful app fpr women.
Here is one of our favorite pages. The Super 3: Netflix, BluTV and TVPlus.
I don't know if you're using TVPlus but if you're a Turkcell customer, TVPlus is very useful.
Since I am a Platinum customer of Turkcell, I have separate GB's which I can use for TVPlus.
So if I'm in traffic in a taxi or if I'm on a ferry, I can open it up and watch my favorite channels like TLC.
I have two apps which I never use here. I'm actually starting to move into Yandex from Google Maps.
Yandex is much better on long trips but Google Maps does better in the city.
I sometimes open Spotify to listen to Ayşen's lists and I don't have anything else to do with it other than that.
Here is the second and most complicated page. I think one of the most life saving folders is the one which include the apps of the stores which we usually shop.
Why?
If you love online shopping, you must already have these apps on your phone.
But if you don't like it, you must start to like it asap.
Because there are sales special to online shopping. Or when you go to a store and tell them the reference number of a product on the app,
you can have a reach to that product much easily if it hasn't put forward yet which saves a lot of time for you.
Other than that I have the Dolap app here. I also love this app because I sell my clothes on here, the clothes I don't wear anymore.
I think it's pretty beneficial to our daily lives because after some point, way too much apparels are accumulated in your closet
and you watch them grow older every day. Opening room for new apparels is very helpful and a piece of cloth which you don't wear anymore
may become somebody else's favorite.
I feel very good when that happens. I will leave the link of my Dolap app down below. I constantly upload new products there, you can have a look.
Here is the folder which everyone is curious about: photograph and video folder.
I'm using most of the apps in this folder.
Facetune is our family photoshop application. I love Facetune very much. You don't always have to fix your mouth, legs, trees, etc. on Facetune.
You can cover up a small acne, you can do color adjustments, so it's actually a pretty versatile application.
Especially the second version is very nice.
I use the Gopro app when I record my CarTalk videos to see if the framing is alright by connecting it to my phone.
There is an app called Pocketphoto above it. It might be my favorite but it's also the one that upsets me the most because
I have a small pocket photo printer. It used to print out small photographs.
After a while, the films of that machine ceased to be sold in Turkey.
That's why I can barely obtain those films and stick the photos on my notebook.
It's actually one of my favorite activities.
I have Afterlight here which I used to use it for editing photographs but I don't use it much anymore.
In the next section of photography and video, there are familiar apps if you have watched my previous videos.
Jane, Inshot, Unfold and Snow are the apps which I use while editing my Instagram stories.
I won't go into much detail because I had made another video about it which you can watch from here.
This is a point which I am pretty indecisive to mention or not because
I won't have any time left for other apps if I mention these.
Yes, I use Afterlight, Lightroom, etc. to edit my photos but these are much detailed subjects.
If you guys want me to make separate videos about them, you can write it down on the comments section below.
I only use these apps but I'm leaving it superficial as it is, it's such a detailed subject.
Here is an extremely nice folder. I have lots of things to mention here. First of them is Zomato.
Zomato has a nice feature that helps you find the best places to eat.
Let's assume that you're at Taksim and you want to eat. What should you eat, where should you eat? What about the prices? How are the menus? You have no idea.
You open Zomato. You can search for what you want to eat on Zomato.
You can search what kind of restaurant you want to eat at, you can see what's around you
or you can have a look at a specific restaurant's menu and prices.
It's a very helpful app, I sometimes have a look at the menus from Zomato before I order food from YemekSepeti.
It's current in Istanbul but it was not in reach at Marmaris. I'm not sure in which cities it can be used.
I have the Starbucks app next to it. With the Starbucks app, when you buy a beverage from Starbucks, if you pay it with the barcode in the app instead of
money or credit card, you get a star. After collecting 15 stars, you win a free beverage. There might be some people thinking that 15 stars is too much
but when you pay with the app instead of money, you eventually get a free drink, I think it's a fair deal.
I have the Getir app next to it. If you are a lazy person,
it's also pretty useful in situations like you arrive home at 1-2AM, you want to clean your make-up but find out that you ran out of cotton.
It's a problem to look for open groceries at that time.
You don't know where to find it but Getir is there for you.
I'm talking like it's a paid partnership but I love it so much. I'm really passionate about it.
There's almost everything on Getir. They bring it to you at any hour very quickly.
It's a very reliable app. Underneath that, there is an app which I haven't started using but I will start using soon, Glovo.
I don't know if you had heard it but there used to be an app called Kap Gel.
You could order food from Kap Gel and they would bring it to you.
But it's a bit more private than YemekSepeti because you can order from Starbucks, Cookshop, etc.
You could also order for grocery shopping. You were choosing whatever you wanted from Carrefour, Migros, Macro and they would bring it to you.
These are the promises of Glovo, it's pretty popular abroad and it's new in Turkey.
I'll give it a try. I haven't tried it yet. YemekSepeti takes place next to it, I won't even mention it.
There's another amazing app below it called Bakkaldan. I discovered this yesterday, a friend of mine named Tuğçe posted it on her story
and I was so amazed when I saw it.
The grocery stores bring your order home. It shows you the open grocery stores around.
I normally don't give any orders from grocery stores but I can see the open grocery stores around me which can bring me my orders.
I love technology, it really eases life. It's amazing.
I have only signed up, I haven't tried it yet but there were already three open groceries.
I have another folder next to it called Travel. I have apps like Turkish Airlines, Pegasus from which I look for flight tickets.
I have Trivago and Airbnb below them from which I look places for accommodation. Booking.com also stands for the same goal but it's no longer
utilized in our country, unfortunately. I keep it for vacations abroad but it's also pretty tough to do that.
I have an app from which I check the exchange rates. Next to that, I have an app called City Maps to Go.
It's such a nice app to be honest. If you're going abroad and if you're planning a trip there,
for example, I'm a tourist and I arrived to Turkey, Istanbul.
I label the places which I want to visit in Istanbul.
For example, there's a place I want to visit at Nişantaşı, Taksim and Şişl
and I'm a tourist, so I don't know how close they are to each other.
It demonstrates the metro lines, bus stations, other public transportations which go from Şişli to Taksim, so it eases my trip.
Especially when you travel abroad, it helps you out a lot when you label the places you want to visit
and see the distance between them. That's why it's a nice app.
Uber is above that one, I usually call taxi cabs from the Uber app since Uber is banned in our country.
There's a pretty meaningless folder next to it. Of course there are some useful apps in it like KitapYurdu.
You can buy books for lower prices from KitapYurdu.
You can find books for 10-15 Liras cheaper from this app.
They are also original by the way but they're usually on sale. If your basket costs more than 30 Liras, you get free shipping.
A single book is almost 30 Liras in stores nowadays.
That's why it's a nice app. There are some games here. I don't play them often anymore. We used to have picnics on summer with Zeynep and Ayşen
so I downloaded Tabu on my phone and it still remains in my phone.
Now I will mention a very good app if you love stars and planets. Hilal showed me this first.
It's an app called Skyview. I don't know what it's going to do since it's the middle of the day but..
Yeah, it doesn't do much since it's the middle of the day but
when you open this app and point your camera up into the sky, it demonstrates the actual positions of the planets and the stars.
You can actually see Mars with this app.
I couldn't believe how you could distinguish Mars from the stars but your eyes start to get used to it. It's got more like an orange color.
You can see the stars and star groups, etc. It feels amazing when you look up in the sky through this app in the evening.
Especially when we go to the village, the stars become very visible at night. I really want to go to the village and try out this app in the evening.
I also downloaded NightView with the same purpose but SkyView is much better.
There is an app called MyFitnessPal next to it.
You can measure your casual calories through this app by inserting what you eat.
It also demonstrates how much nutrition intake you should provide in a day.
For example, it sets a goal for me which is 2060 calories according to my weight, height, etc.
I add my meals here and it tells me how much protein I consumed.
For example, it warns me against a meal with high sodium amount, etc.
It has a pretty wide range of list. You click this plus button here and pick your meal, drink, etc.
For example, I had some oatmeal for breakfast today. I choose oatmeal from here and it informs me that it's 150 calories.
I chose my portion amount and added to my list.
Now I will have a look. It tells me that the saturated fat ratio is low, it includes 15 grams of protein, 2,5 grams of fat, etc.
If you're careful about what you eat, it's pretty helpful.
I have an app called My Water next to it.
I used to use it much and now I returned to it.
The amount of water I want to consume in a day is 2 liters.
I add the amount of glasses I drink during a day.
The screen gets filled. It's moving around as you can see.
It keeps track on the amount of water you have drunk and sends you reminders to drink more.
So it's basically an app reminding you to drink water.
The final page is the page of unnecessary apps. I have CicekSepeti on this page. I download it when it's someone's birthday or if someone starts to a new job.
I also have Slowtime. It's like a sleeping song to me.
Very soft and smooth songs play in Slowtime so I listen to them when I struggle to sleep at night.
I have Yandex next to it which I already mentioned.
Ikea Mobile and Evidea; I have a look at them for decoration ideas.
Scotty takes place above. Scotty is one of the best apps for Istanbul.
You get matched with the motorcyclists on the same route and they bring you to your destination.
The prices are very reasonable and you avoid traffic. while you also save a lot of time.
I really love Scotty.
There's also an app on the top called Photoshop Fix, Doğuş made me download it. But I forgot how to use it. I might have to delete it.
And this is it. This is all I have got in my phone.
You guys would see lots and lots of nonsense apps if I hadn't made a cleaning recently.
I even got bored of them myself and decided to get rid of them. I even skipped some of the apps while demonstrating because I don't know
why they are still in my phone. I will have to get rid of them too.
I actually love discovering new apps and finding out their features.
So it ends up being a little messy but I think it's fine.
I hope you guys adopt some of these apps and benefit from them in your daily lives.
Especially the apps like Glovo, Bakkaldan, etc. might be charming.
They sold them to me right away. I hope I can sell it to you guys either. I'm pretty sure that some of them will ease your lives.
This is it from today's video. I regularly upload new videos every Monday and Wednesday at 6PM.
See you guys in another video, bye.

The wonderful world of one-off fiberglass kit cars | Barn Find Hunter - Ep.42 - Duration: 13:17.
(twangy music)
- This is what shakes a woody apart.
This is why after every adventure
I have to go back with a big screw driver
and tighten up all the joints in the body
because these roads just shake it apart.
(rattling)
Well I think it's fair to say
that there's no other place on the planet that can
possibly resemble what we're about to go see right now.
We're here with Jeff Hacker, thank you,
an old buddy who we've known each other
for a couple of books worth, cars that he's dragged home.
This man is the authority on fiberglass cars
probably in the world,
and he probably has the biggest collection.
We're only seeing a part of it here.
This is called Fiberglass Farms, where nothing is organic.
So tell me what this car is.
- This was called a Debonair
and also known as Adventure, one of the two.
And they were produced in '54
and they were built, or designed by, Philip Egan.
Now some of your viewers may know Philip Egan.
Philip Egan was one of the design team for the Tucker,
along with Alex Tremulis.
When they finished up, Alex Tremulis went on to design cars
like the Sun Goddess, as I remember, for Kaiser
and Philip Egan joined a company as a consultant
and designed this particular car,
which I call it the Debonair.
That sounds pretty. - Debonair.
Okay.
So what kind of chassis is it on?
- Well it was designed,
unlike a lot of the cars here,
the second versions of fiberglass cars
were designed to fit on full-on modified chassis.
What they were trying to do is say, you know what,
we realize it's hard to cut a chassis.
And some of them were cut with hacksaws back in the day.
It's hard to weld the chassis,
so let's build a car that you take the body off
and put a body on, be much easier.
- Okay. - Hagerty lists them
at just about a 100,000 each restored, which is nice.
Now I don't know sometimes with cars that are such
limited production, particularly American cars,
since they weren't made by Chevrolet, or Cadillac,
or one of the big companies, sometimes the values
are hard to achieve, hard to get
because people aren't familiar with them.
How many of your viewers have ever seen
the Ventura Debonair?
So I started to say, when we started researching
we knew of none of these.
It took us two or three years to find the first one.
They made six according to Philip Egan's research.
- And you have four?
- Five.
- Five, you have five of the six ever built?
- Five of the six, if they made six.
(laughing) - So they could've made eight,
maybe they made five.
The records are never perfect.
It's not like someone wrote it down perfectly,
but his recollection was six of them back in the day.
- I don't know a lot about these cars in general,
but I know about this one in particular.
This is called a Victorous.
But it's interesting, I was writing a book called
Motor City Barn Finds a couple of years ago
and I was in Detroit.
And I got a call from Jeff Hacker, who owns these cars,
he said, guess what, Tom.
I just found a new Victorous kit car.
I said, that's interesting.
Where is it, he said, in Detroit.
I said, son of a gun, I'm in Detroit right now.
He said, so am I.
This is a kit car that was built, I believe,
on a TR3 or TR2 Triumph chassis.
Fiberglass body, you can see the roof
was cut for a sunroof.
But there's not even a hole yet for the back window.
No back window in here yet.
The trunk has been cut out.
The windshield has only been hacked approximately.
You can see where the line
is that was molded into the body.
So that's where the windshield should go.
Who knows what these hood latches are for.
But this was a car that people would build.
They'd start off very enthusiastically,
read about it in Hot Rod magazine or Popular Science,
and you'd send away for the kit.
And the kit might be $500, a $1,000.
You supply your own chassis,
in this case a Triumph, maybe in that case a Ford.
Then the work started.
You know, it's fun to take the body off the frame
and that's easy to do,
but then, when you had to start building the car yourself,
and building in window mechanisms so the doors rolled up,
and building in latches, and started to build your own
dashboard and getting things working.
These cars took 2,000 hours to build.
If you think about 2,000 hours,
that's a full-time job, 50 weeks a year.
A lot of people work 2,000 hours a year.
So if you had a regular job,
well this would double your job,
or it would last for three years,
or four years, or in this case and in many cases,
never even get done at all.
They'd sit and languish in a garage,
get put into the back yard,
because it was just too much work.
And like all these cars, and the other ones
he's got in other locations,
he plans on restoring this car.
But, boy.
You know, he's got a couple of guys that work for him
that are very good at finishing up these cars.
So instead of 2,000 hours, they could probably
finish this in 500 'cause they just get on it,
work quickly, they've got the systems in place.
But these things are littering the country
in garages, outside of garages, and a lot of them
are just getting scrapped.
It's really a piece of American sports car history
that shouldn't be forgotten.
That people who couldn't afford a Jaguar,
or an Aston Martin, or an MG,
or wanted something a little more exotic
than a standard sedan, they could buy a kit
and take the body off their Ford sedan,
put this body on it and suddenly have a sports car.
So some were finished, most were not,
but they're all interesting.
Now this is kind of a cheeky looking car.
What are we looking at here?
- This is a car called the 1955 Bangert Manta Ray.
There are four known in the world.
One is built on a Curtis chassis, it's a race car.
One is built on a custom chassis, it's a drag car.
Both are world famous.
The third one is owned by me.
We debuted it at Amelia Island last year.
And it's based on the 1954 Buick Wildcat concept car.
In '54, '55, they started opening up the fenders.
Called open up clam shell fenders.
And it was done, from what I can tell in the styling books,
to keep the brakes more ventilated.
Disc brakes weren't the. - Ah.
- We still had drum brakes all four.
And so this really helped ventilate the brakes.
We've got very famous pictures in the 50s
and the styling of this open kind of fender look
some people seem to it polarizes people.
Either people like it more, or they like it less.
- Do the headlights go here or here?
- Yes. (laughing)
The first ones came out here.
And then, Noel Bangert, who was a friend of mine,
Noel passed away about 2010 or so.
He designed this.
He didn't have a brochure.
He had a poster and he said,
here are three different ways you can make this car.
And he wanted people, encouraged people
to build them the way they wanted to.
Headlights could go here, that's how we did our car.
Headlights could go here
and we have a Bangert Manta Ray front end
over there with that.
And headlights could go where you first said
just outside the fender, it really depended.
It depended what they wanted.
- [Tom] That's heavy fiberglass.
- It's extremely heavy.
And I'm not sure we can pull this open.
We showed one before with Ray Abraham last time
on America Carna show.
- Ray was here?
- Yeah, Ray was here about two years ago.
And so if you open this up.
- [Tom] I mean that thing weighs.
- You can see the construction
also if you look on the inside.
- And that's steel pipe? - Steel pipe, yeah.
- [Tom] You see the steel pipe reinforcement
and the fiberglass just kind of wrapped around it.
- Which is good and bad.
What you need to do is you have to have
materials that flex in the same way temperature wise.
Otherwise, you start getting fiberglass flexing
different temperatures and more quickly or slowly
than the material underneath it,
so it takes some expertise.
This is actually a banjo. - Yep.
- Ford ran so that would've been through '48
and a torque tube and this originally
would've had a Ford flathead in it most likely,
which has when these I believe
these are the motor mounts for that.
I'm just trying to think,
when we found this it had a Chevrolet 265,
so it had already been updated,
so these might actually be for the Chevrolet.
- Yep, okay. - But we pulled that out.
Is this the kind of stuff you want?
- Yep, yep. - Okay.
- Yeah I could see how that front end would be
somewhat polarizing.
And there's one over here that does look like a Ferrari.
- Well that's one of three cars that were done
in the 50s that looked like inspired by Ferrari.
They were kind of cars,
were the ones that looked like European
cars but drive like an American cars.
'Cause if they drive like American cars
that means you can get the parts in 1955
over the counter, if you need a Ferrari engine
well that was back in the day when they were
taking Ferraris and putting Chevrolet engines in them.
So this one was actually built,
designed and built by Carl Luckenbach.
Carl Luckenbach was about 20, 18 to 20,
when he designed and built this.
And he did it in his garage near Detroit, Michigan.
Carl was later a student at the Cranbrook Academy and then,
I hope I'm doing his legacy justice.
Carl currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida but grew up
and his company was in and around Detroit,
I think Ann Arbor actually is where his company was.
- [Tom] His company was in Ann Arbor?
- [Jeff] He what?
- [Tom] He built these in Ann Arbor?
- [Jeff] He built this.
Just this one car. - Oh, just this one car.
- [Jeff] Most of what you find is,
a lot of people who built a car like this,
he designed it, he lofted it, he sculpted it,
he sanded and made plaster, pulled the mold off it,
pulled the body, and so forth.
I think, I think, if he didn't pull a mold
then this would've been male molded where you actually
create the car in plaster and then lay down the fiberglass
and then sand it and then pull it off the mold.
So I don't think he made a mold.
I think it was a male mold which meant
a model first, that you pull the fiberglass off of.
- Pretty good looking front end on that thing.
- Well this is a 102 inch wheel base.
He built it on 40s Ford chassis
but made some modifications.
He actually put in longitudinal springs in the back,
which was unusual since they came
with a cross spring, a buggy spring.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Still have the engine.
The engine, here.
- Such a shame with this engine?
Yeah, go ahead.
- It's the only car with a Lincoln engine we've ever,
let's just put this off the top.
If you grab it, then slide it down.
It's a shame about this engine.
We might be able to save it.
Brand new.
Zero miles. - Whoa.
- Maybe he took it six.
Down the block and back is what the family told me.
And if you open up the valve covers.
Let's see.
See if you can take the valve cover off.
- [Tom] Wow, clean as a whistle.
- Except a few leaves. - Holy.
- [Jeff] We've got to get this engine out of here.
This has only been here a few months.
But this engine has no miles on it.
- [Tom] Look at the.
- And it's also absolutely locked up.
His family had access and they bought a brand new
crate motor right off the sales floor, I think in '56.
It was a display motor, what Carl was saying.
And they put it in here.
Now we tried, we opened it up,
we found our first attack on this engine
was that the whole bottom end is locked up.
It still has oil in it, but it looks really tough.
We have another engine to go in here,
but we're gonna take a second pass at this engine
and see if we can actually get it going.
- [Tom] Yeah, wow.
- So I think this was an automatic.
Oh, I think so.
Yes.
And he never finished the car.
Left it, he went to college.
So often that happened, never finished it.
It was driving, it was running.
And we hope to finish this one.
We do usually finish about.
- [Tom] Does he know you have his car?
- Oh yeah, Carl's, we have a great video if any of the,
any of the people who view your show want to see,
it's on our website or YouTube page and all.
They can see it.
- So he lives in Jacksonville.
Has he been down here?
- When we were up in Detroit,
we met him and we put him and the car together.
He didn't know where the car was,
but we knew where Carl was.
And the family that owned it knew that Carl had built it
'cause they had bought it from his family.
And so we said, Carl, come down.
I still remember because it was 18 degrees.
It was very cold.
And even though I'm well insulated, I'm not that insulated.
(laughing) Very cold.
This car I've had for whatever 1984 is to now, 2018.
- What, this car? - Yeah, Shark.
I brought this back from San Diego.
That's my second fiberglass car.
The first one is actually we debuted
with Bill Warner at 2013 at Amelia Island.
And it's been on Auto Week TV and Jay Leno's Garage.
And this one is my next car to finish.
- [Tom] And what kind of drive train would this have?
- These were Sharks.
This was the convertible Shark.
You saw the other Porsche based Shark
that we have on the trailer out front.
And this particular Shark was based on a Renault.
All of the convertible Sharks were based
on Renault 4CV or Dauphine.
Very fun little car.
I used to drive it to high school and college,
the other one, before we retired it
and waited 30 years to restore that one.
- Wow, why are you into these kind of cars?
I mean what brought you into this?
- I love cars.
When I came down here, I lost access to all
my great older friends who had heavy iron,
you know, the Marmons and the Packers and so forth.
But I found this car,
not this very one but the other one.
And so I became interested in fiberglass cars.
And this was built in St. Petersburg, Florida.
And I went to the library and found a whole section
on the Sharks and Henry Covington who built the coupe.
And the others were designed by Glenn Gums in the company.
And they only made six convertibles and six hardtops.
And then I went off to college.
I restored one.
- [Tom] So what'd you make a career in?
- [Jeff] I was working for a company called Eckerd Drugs.
My background's a PhD
in industrial organizational psychology.
- You know, I think that about does it.
Jeff Hacker, I try to make a point
to come here every 10 years.
- Yes, it's good to see you, Tom.
- So I'll be back in what, 2028.
- Okay, well we look forward to that.
(laughs) We'll have more cars.
- Thank you, thank you so much.
- Great to see you again.
- You know, I don't know.
I guess this looks like a '51 Mercury custom.
This one, at least the front end,
looks something like a '55, '56 Thunderbird.

Why You Should Drink Apple Cider Vinegar Before A Meal - Duration: 2:07.
Over the past couple of years, apple cider vinegar has proven itself to be the most known
vinegar within the natural health community.
But why is this?
It's due to its numerous benefits.
It can be used in recipes, as a medicine, to clean your house, in your skin care routine…
The possibilities are endless.
People have even started "taking shots" of apple cider vinegar in the mornings or
before meals, and whoever can't drink it straight dilutes it in water.
Given the taste we all know vinegar has, these health benefits must be great for people to
be willing to do this.
Here are 3 of the main benefits of drinking apple cider vinegar:
It can lower our blood sugar and fight diabetes The meals we typically eat nowadays are rich
in carbohydrates and processed sugars, and apple cider vinegar can increase our insulin
sensitivity, making it easier for our bodies to respond to what we ate and adjust accordingly.
This means it's perfect for diabetics who need to stimulate their insulin production,
or even people with a tendency to have high blood sugar levels.
It serves as an appetite suppressant Apple cider vinegar is rich in acetic acid
which turns to acetate and hydrogen once consumed.
The acetate then accesses your brain and suppresses the centers that control your appetite, decreasing
your desire to eat.
It improves our iron absorption Acetic acid, apart from suppressing our appetite,
can also help our bodies release iron from the food we consume by mimicking stomach acids
and breaking down the foods.
If you enjoyed learning about these tips, then mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of ACV (apple
cider vinegar) with a cup of water and drink it before your midday meal everyday.

Tip Of The Month - Duration: 4:36.
Hey Toby you should be looking at the camera not at squirrel outside. Hi folks it's
Mike with Kitchen Tips Online, home of the tip of the Month Club. And what is
tip of the Month Club? Well that's where my little buddy Toby
and I go through all of the comments and tips submitted by you in the previous 30
days, and pick the top kitchen and household tips to be selected for tip of
the month. Also to kick off the program I'm gonna share with you one of my top 5
kitchen tips! The very best thing you can use to get the stink out of your
refrigerator. And it's not baking soda, and it's not something you have to buy,
in fact it's something that you normally would throw away or send to the recycle
bin. Congratulations to Deborah Davis because her tip, actually two tips, were
selected for tip of the month. Deborah can now download her award certificate
and share it with her friends on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Now let's
take a look and see what you have to do to get your tip selected as a tip of the
month. If you want to submit a kitchen or household tip for consideration to tip
of the month, you must submit it as a comment on one of our videos. By leaving
your tip as a comment on a video, other people could give you a thumbs up and
reply to your tip. When we see a tip with lots of thumbs-up, and lots of reply
attaboys, we figure that's got to be a pretty good tip and it's gonna get first
consideration for the tip of the Month Club.
Since kitchen tips online is a family-friendly YouTube channel, there's
a couple of things to keep in mind. Number 1, your tip and comment must be
family-friendly. Number 2, your YouTube username must be family friendly. Your
tip must be a kitchen or household tip. To give everybody a chance, you're only
eligible to be selected for the tip of the Month Club, every 90 days. You will
find the complete details about our tip of the month program in this video
description. Up next I'm gonna share with you the absolute best way to get the
stink out of your refrigerator! But before I do that, I want to invite you to
subscribe if you're not a subscriber. And I want to remind you if you do subscribe,
to ring the bell, so that YouTube will send you notifications when we post a
new video. Now for those folks who don't know it, I spend 30 plus years in the
appliance parts and service business. And early in my career I discovered the very
best thing for removing refrigerator odor, and it is newspaper. That's right,
the very thing that you normally throw away or put in the recycle bin, is best
at absorbing refrigerator odor. And that's because the paper itself absorbs
moisture. And refrigerator odor is simply moistures molecules flying around and stinking up
your refrigerator. And if you doubt it works, I invite you to put some in your
freezer section. Just crunch it up in a ball, put it in your freezer section try
it for a couple of days. And then come back and let me know how it works. And by
the way you only need to put it in the freezer. And that's because 100% of the
air that circulates through your refrigerator goes through the freezer,
and only about 10% of the air goes to the fresh food section.
Well there you go folks, now this is probably one of those videos that you
want to share with your friends on Facebook. And if you'd like to
participate in the tip of the month program,
well I invite you to leave your best kitchen or household tip in the comment
section below. Thanks for watching ♥

Customer Choice & Feeling of Control - How Influences Buying Decision - Duration: 8:20.
hello this is John Ruman with the sales training academy where I work with the
real 007 mr. Roger Moore so if you need to boost your company sales
or if you need to understand what you can do to grow your business we are the
place to go to let me tell you about the five reasons people make a purchasing
decision so this is a study done by multinational companies and what they
came up was as products and services and the funny thing is and everyone's mind
the primary reason people make a decision price I'm not going to tell you
the order and if you're watching this on Facebook you actually see them on screen
but it's important to know that price is one of the top five it's actually number
five in the list so let me go through them real quick we have service price
quality confidence of the sales person and number five customer choice or
options and a feeling of control so that's why I'm gonna unpack today and
give you some insight as to the mindset there and maybe some statistics that
will help you better grasp the importance of this this is an idea live
if you have one product of service or a bunch because what happens is the brain
becomes overloaded so let me give you a quick statistic and then we'll go a
little more in-depth they had two studies one was and this was jelly or
preserves they had six preserves and then they had 26 or 27 preserves so
several options and a plethora of options what was fascinating is people
were more than worth ten times more likely to make a purchase with six
versus the 26 27 and the more important is when 26 and 27 was the option more
times than not they didn't even make a decision so zero sales so 10 times as
many sales or no sales big difference and I'm sure there is a sweet spot if
you go online to websites you're gonna see more common than not for an online
service package or even things that you can just get information on three
options the Holy Trinity if you will statistically 5 or less is the ideal 3
to 5 options so an option of 3 is great or an option of 5 or variances thereof
so I'll give you an example so 3 is really the ideal because it doesn't feel
too big but there's options let's say you pick 3 1 2 3 I want the middle one I
like that one good you do the middle one then you pick it there may be a
subcategory with other options again you don't want to overload the person so no
more than five they pick one and then maybe some sub options as well think
about you buy a car you choose the model well let's go bigger you choose the
manufacturer I want a Ford you choose you want an SUV
truck or car simplified I want the truck good truck pick the truck within the
truck there's a handful of models on with that model good pick the engine
good pick the interior good but you see within them there's no more than six or
seven choices so it enables you to hey upload of good to see Chris it enables
you to not feel overloaded have you ever been in a sales situation where you go
into the store or whatever and you feel that you're being pressured into this
choice that is the problem with the singular or even just two choices you
don't have enough variety and with a plethora
baskin-robbins most people know baskin-robbins they are the million one
flavor ice cream star I think it's 51 or whatever flavors whatever 50 something
flavors I know people that literally have to think about it and plan a day or
so before they actually go in other words they don't go in the store and
look at everything you make a decision it's that big a decision that level of
overwhelm shows that it's too much if you want a restaurant and there's too
many things on the menu it becomes overwhelming people do it again for
variety but makes it harder to make a decision so it's better to have a more
concise quality menu concise quality service list product list whatever then
this enormous one and again not too small so it if it's too small people
feel pushed into buying one thing that's the problem with car sales people for
example that only have one maker model so if you even if you sell one mink but
you offer six cars its options we're getting a rainstorm OEM so if you hear
that there you go so it's important that you give people options you don't
pigeonhole people into limited choice and make them feel confined and find the
balance that works for you and again the common approach for this is three to
five and then if you have more detailed ones under that subcategories once you
make decision one good we go to the next page here on decision one are the four
options pick one good and and so let's say
there's interior color and engine on the vehicle you pick the vehicle good engine
good color good and I don't know leather cloth and stereo whatever they are but
the point is you're not asking them to decide all at one time you'll have them
go through each decision separately and there's never going to be more than two
many decisions that's important so when you create your product or service have
this in mind I hope this has been beneficial for your mind and growing how
you actually offer things and when you actually
I'm out with things let me take this another step deeper especially if you
have a business that has a very premium product and that's what you sell you can
call it a pyramidal pyramid approach or a ladder approach whatever but basically
what you're gonna do is to come up with a free or nominal priced item what to
say free and then you have an item that's usually very inexpensive it can
be as little as $1 or as much as $10 very affordable that many many many many
many many people will love and it directly correlates with the more
expensive product offerings you have it's the next logical step is just
something bigger and better but there's something psychologically it
happens when you make a purchase of something that's inexpensive it's called
a tripwire and now that person now is exchanging monetary value with you it's
not just a free exchange at this point they're paying you so now once you've
done $1 $2 $5 $7 $20 now it opens up a whole new level of arrangement with you
so that would be valuable so that's called a tripwire so then you may do
something 30 or 40 us a hundred US two hundred a thousand five thousand ten
thousand a hundred thousand obviously there's less people the higher up the
pyramid you need to be a business longer the higher up the pyramid is to build
that level of trust and people that love you that much but it's quite possible

Wordpress SEO: Advanced Technical SEO Made Easy - Duration: 10:07.
WordPress is much more than just another blogging platform.
In fact, popular websites like TechCrunch and BBC America use WordPress to attract and
host millions of search visitors every single month.
But using WordPress out of the box won't cut it if you want to reach that kind of scale.
You need to make sure that your site speed is lightning fast and that your technical
SEO is structurally sound.
And in this video, you're about to learn exactly how to do that from the ground up.
Stay tuned.
[music]
What's up SEOs, Sam Oh here with Ahrefs, the SEO tool that helps you grow your search traffic,
research your competitors, and dominate your niche.
Now this is the second part in our WordPress SEO series.
And we've already covered a lot of the basic setup and how to create SEO-friendly posts and pages.
In this tutorial, we're going to cover a lot of the technical SEO aspects, particularly
with page speed, duplicate content, and internal linking, all within WordPress.
Let's get to it.
Before we begin, I'm going to run a full site audit on my website using Ahrefs Site Audit tool.
And I'll occasionally make reference back to some of the reports, which will help us
identify which pages to fix.
The first thing we're going to do is configure our WordPress site for optimal speed and performance.
And this is important because Google has officially stated that page speed is a ranking factor
in their algorithm for both desktop and mobile.
So for site speed, we're setting up the framework, which would include things like caching, compression,
CDNs, and minification.
And there are 3 plugins that I use specifically to boost my site speed.
The first one is W3 Total Cache.
With WordPress caching, you're essentially creating static versions of your posts and
pages so it can be rendered quickly by browsers.
And since you're probably not updating these every day, it should result in faster load
times, and a better user experience.
After you've installed the plugin, you'll see a new menu in the left sidebar called "Performance."
If you go to the general settings, you'll see the main settings I have enabled are:
Page Cache, Minify, Browser Cache, and CDN.
And you can see short descriptions of what each one does under the checkbox.
To customize each of these options, you can go to the corresponding submenu in the sidebar.
Now, it's important to note that what works for my site's speed won't necessarily work
for yours.
And there are way too many variables to consider like your server set up - i.e.
Apache vs NGINX vs Engintron,
i.e. your hosting plan - i.e. shared vs VPS vs dedicated and more.
So rather than going through every single setting for this site, I'll leave a link to the
screenshots of my W3 Total Cache settings in the description.
The second plugin I use is called ShortPixel.
And this one automatically compresses and optimizes images when you upload them to your server.
So if you look at my media library, you'll see that there were some images uploaded,
and ShortPixel automatically compressed these by quite a lot without compromising image quality.
And the final plugin I use is called Speed Booster Pack.
After you've installed it, you can access it by hovering over settings, then choosing
the plugin name in the submenu.
The one that I want to touch on here is lazy load images.
Now by enabling this option, it only loads images as it's needed.
For example, when you load this page, images that are further down in the page will only
load as you scroll to its location.
Play around with these settings, and as you update them, you should see your home page
load stats beside it.
You can also use a tool like Pingdom's Full Page Test, which will show you the page load
times and performance optimization tips.
Just make sure to ping your page from the same location to get more accurate representations
of page speed.
Site Audit tool also tracks page speed over time, so let's go to our report in Site Audit
in Ahrefs and see if there are any pages that load particularly slow.
So I'll head on over to the Performance report.
And here, you can see that there are 5 pages that have a loading time of greater than 2 seconds.
So I'll click on that, which will show us the results in Data Explorer.
The first result is one that gets organic traffic, and it looks like the time to first
byte as well as the file size seem higher than I'd like.
So I'll copy the URL and paste it into Google Page Speed Insights.
And the results seem pretty good for the most part.
Now scrolling down, you'll see some suggestions to optimize images.
If your pages have issues with images, CSS, or JavaScript, then you should see a link
at the bottom of the page to download optimized versions for this page.
So I would just download the optimized versions of these images, and replace them in the post.
Now, doing this for all of your pages may take some time, so start with pages that get
organic traffic, and move down the list from there if you're really obsessed with speed.
Alright, so our site is nice and speedy which is great for Google and for the user experience.
Next is to add internal links to pass link equity to pages you want to rank.
Using this custom filter in Data Explorer, I'm able to identify URLs that aren't a part
of the page archive, have less than 3 internal links pointing at them, and return a 200 response code.
And it looks like there are 131 URLs on this website.
Looking through the list, the vast majority are ones that I planned to delete, but I'm
sure there are others that we plan to keep and rank higher.
Now, let's order the pages by organic traffic in descending order.
And this one on borax vs. boric acid seems like a good one.
So I'll go to the "All Posts" page and use the search box here and search for the keyword
"borax", to see if there are any posts I can link from to my "borax vs. boric acid" post.
And it looks like this one on cleaning with essential oils includes that keyword in the post.
Alternatively, you can do this in Google by searching for site:yourdomain.com and then
adding your keyword or multiple keywords by using the "OR" search operator.
And you'll see that we now have 15 pages that match your search query since Google is searching
through all indexed pages, which includes both posts and pages.
Another very cool yet effective way to use internal links in WordPress is to add a "Popular
Articles" widget.
Now, these might be pages that you've found to convert particularly well or pages that you
want to rank higher in Google.
Looking at Backlinko's blog, you'll see that he's done that here with some of his bigger guides.
You can also take this tactic a step farther and install a plugin called "Custom Sidebars."
This lets you insert a custom sidebar configuration on any post or page.
For example, you may want to include a custom sidebar with links to other articles or product
pages that are relevant to the content in the post.
Now, these kinds of tips aren't something that you have to do.
In fact, Ahrefs blog and a lot of other popular blogs don't do this.
But from my experience, I've found it to work well.
The last thing I want to go through deals with duplicate content issues.
Now, in the first video, I briefly touched on installing the Yoast SEO plugin and setting
up your sitemap.
And everything else works pretty good out of the box, but there are a few advanced features
that deal with indexation and it will help you avoid creating unwanted duplicate pages.
So first, hover over the Yoast settings and choose Titles/Metas and we'll make sure that a few
settings are in place.
Go to the "Post Types" settings and make sure that your meta robots settings for both pages
and posts are unchecked, which will ensure that all of your blog posts and pages are
set to get indexed by default.
Personally, I set the Media settings as "noindex, follow," because WordPress will often create
separate media pages, like this, that have nothing more than just the image.
And this would certainly be classified as thin content.
Next, head on over to the "Taxonomies" tab.
In most cases, you'll want to noindex the tags and formats option.
Tags on WordPress have essentially no SEO value.
It's more of a way to categorize your posts, which I don't see too many sites doing now.
For example, if you look at this tag page, it just lists a couple blog posts that can
be accessed on their blog archive page.
And there's no real value in telling Google to index the tag page too.
The other one is Сategories.
Now, this one is debatable.
Some people prefer not to index these pages, while others will try to rank them.
And in my opinion, if you're using breadcrumbs like these, or use your categories as navigation
items like many large publications do, then I would recommend leaving them as indexable
in most cases.
Or if you think that people will find value in discovering them in Google, then leave
them as is.
I wouldn't stress too much about this unless you're creating thousands of pages that can
potentially lead to issues with crawl budget, faceted navigation, or devaluing the link equity.
Next is the "Archives" tab.
Here, you'll actually find a section on avoiding duplicate content.
Since this site is a single author blog, I've chosen to noindex both the author archives
and date-based archives.
And the reason being, if you leave this to be indexed by Google, your blog homepage or
list of posts will be identical to the author archive.
Finally is the "Other" tab.
Here, I recommend noindexing your archive subpages.
And you can see in the example, that this would be on an archive page with a URL like /page/2.
In fact, Google made a video on the best practices regarding pagination, and they recommended
a few different options.
The best one in my opinion, was to create a "view-all" function and for all archive
pages, to include a canonical tag to the "view-all" page.
There were certain conditions that should be met like the amount of time it takes to
render the page, but I'll let you watch that full video if this is a concern that you have.
The last thing you should know regarding WordPress indexation is that you can noindex
specific pages or posts.
Just scroll down to the Yoast SEO settings on the page that you want to noindex, click
on the gear icon, and then select "noindex" from the dropdown.
This may be advisable for pages that you don't want to be in Google's index like a
landing page that you're split testing or a page within your email or sales funnel.
If you want to dig deeper into duplicate content issues, then go to the "Content Quality" report
within Ahrefs' Site Audit tool, and for this website, you'll see that there are only green
clusters of duplicate pages, which means that the canonical is matching.
Something that you'll want to be on the lookout for are bad duplicates or where a canonical
is not set, as you can see for this WordPress website.
Now, there's a lot more to technical SEO than what I've shown you here.
But by combining WordPress with some of these plugins and techniques, you should be able
to speed up your website and prevent a lot of easily avoidable duplicate content issues.

there's anything I missed in the comments specific to doing search engine optimization
with WordPress.
