Will I stop being VEGAN? - Duration: 13:24.
Probably that in this video...
...I will receive my first dislike.
And no, is not from who you think.
Probably I will receive more hate from vegans.
Yes, you heard that right.
And I will talk more about all of this next.
As I've just started doing this...
...It is normal to make some mistakes.
And I've noticed just now when I wanted to edit the clips...
...That I didn't look directly into the camera.
Therefore...
You will see this in the next clips.
And because this video is probably larger than I got you used to...
...In the description box...
...I split this video into sections and...
...You can go directly to the minute you are interested in.
And I want to start this video by saying that I am not...
...Here to convert somebody.
I really got over this phase a long time ago.
I made this video because I wanted to share with you my experience as a vegan...
...In these three years.
Yes, on the first of October, this year...
...There will be three years since I've started being vegan.
And if you are here...
...To let me comments such as...
'But from where do you get your protein?'
'How to give up bacon?'
'It's sure just a phase you are going through.'
Then you can close this video because it surely isn't for you.
Thank you!
And, btw...
...At the end of the video...
...I thought to include a recipe...
...Which I made it by myself.
And which I think is the best I've made.
Therefore...
...If you are curious about it, stay till the end of the clip.
HOW I BECAME VEGAN?
Well...
Four year ago I started...
...To think about the idea to become vegetarian.
All my life I've had a very special connection with the animals.
And I don't talk just about...
...Dogs or cats...
...I talk about any animal you can think about.
My parents always found new animals brought home.
And during the same period a YouTuber...
...From abroad who I really watched with interest,
Kalel,
Talked about a new idea, namely veganism.
And after I watched this video...
...My perspective totally changed.
What made me changed were...
...Four or five clips...
...Which talked about what happened...
...Within the meat, dairy industry and so on.
Therefore...
...If you want...
...You can look in the description box...
...And you can see the same clips I saw myself.
For me, if just one person changes...
...Because of these videos...
...Then I am really glad.
But, I want to tell you they are kind of violent...
...And it's not necessary that they aren't suitable for everyone...
...But they can a very high emotional impact.
WHY HAVE I STAYED VEGAN?
Unfortunately, according to the statistics...
...A good part of the people who decides to become vegan, or even vegetarian...
...Give up after one week, one month, three months.
Then maybe you are asking yourself what made me stay vegan for such a long time.
I think that what motivated me the most...
...Was the idea that for me...
...The life of an animal is more important...
...Than to eat certain products which I don't need,
to wear certain clothes realized through the killing of living creatures,
to use make-up products which were tested on animals.
IS VEGANISM JUST A DIET?
Yes, for many people, the veganism is just a diet.
For me, personally, is more a lifestyle.
When I do something, I always think about the impact my actions have.
And as the years passed...
I realized there are more ways in which you can contribute to the saving of the live of innocent beings.
One of those ways is to choose those products which are not tested on animals.
And believe me, is a very huge range.
And some are really quality products.
For example, for make-up...
...I like very much Urban Decay.
For personal care...
There are the products from The Body Shop.
Which are extraordinary.
And recently I've discovered a brand very good for hair care.
100% pure.
I think is very good because it doesn't have parabens,
sulphates, silicones and all the things which are very bad for your hair.
WHICH IS THE IMPACT OF THE VEGANISM?
The veganism doesn't have an effect just when it comes to the saving of animals life.
Yes, I confess. During the first two years, this was the thing which motivated me.
But as the time went by I discovered that the veganism had a bigger impact.
For example, it has an impact on the planet.
I don't know if you know this, but it takes approximately 2500 gallons of water...
...To produce approximately one pound of beef meat.
I believe this is one thing you can think about.
Moreover, it had a big impact on my health.
I don't think if in these three years...
...Since I started being vegan, I was sick more than five-six times, and more than two-three days.
But, moreover...
...Studying nutrition...
...I realized that it can be a very well-balanced 'diet'.
Maybe, you are asking yourself if you need supplements.
The short answer is that yes.
You need supplements with B12.
And I want you to take this very seriously, because if you don't have enough B12...
...It can make you depressed or have another medical problems.
Moreover, it is very recommended to talk with a doctor.
And to take your analyzes annually.
To see if you really need other supplements.
From personal experience, I tell you, you don't.
Me personally, I supplement just with vegetable protein from pea and rice.
Because I go to the gym.
And it's a personal choice.
And the third thing I want you to think about...
...Is that if a good part of world population would become vegan...
...It could stop the hunger in the world.
Maybe you ask yourself 'how'.
According to the statistics...
...One third of world cereals...
...Are given to the animals from the industrial farms...
...And those animals produce an insignificant of food.
WHAT CAN YOU DO IF YOU WANT TO BECOME VEGAN?
And maybe you are thinking how you can also become vegan.
I think the most important aspect is to be very educated on this subject.
Therefore, a book which I recommend you is 'Living Vegan for Dummies'.
It is the book which also made me be passionate about nutrition.
The second thing which I really recommend is to adopt this lifestyle step by step.
Not to say: 'Bro, starting with tomorrow I give up meat, milk, eggs and so on'.
It would be very hard for you.
And number three.
If you are already a vegan or you are on the process of becoming one...
...Is that when you are talking with the persons which have some principles different of yours, to think about...
...Not...
...Not spreading hate.
Because it will never work. I say this out of experience.
At the beginning I was very mad when I talked with omnivores and...
...The persons who made fun of me when it came to this subject.
As the time went by, I realized that people change just through the power of example.
Personally, the veganism has helped me a lot.
After a few months I started to have more energy, motivation,
it helped me when it came to growing my nails.
And, yes...
And I also want you to think about one aspect, when it comes to the confrontation with the people who don't have the same principles and ideas as you.
I want you to think that...
How hard is for you to change because that's what you want?
Think about how insignificant is someone's else opinion when you want to change or not.
That's the same when you want to change someone else to become vegan.
It won't work.
The only thing you can do is to inform people...
...And to live your life according to your principles.
WILL I GIVE UP VEGANISM?
WELL!
The section because of why you've probably clicked on this video.
Yes, probably as you've realized; no, I won't stop being vegan.
But...
I still want to touch a more delicate, touchy, taboo subject in the vegan community.
I don't consider myself 100% vegan.
Yes.
And believe me, when I touched this subject in the vegan community...
...I received very, very serious threats.
Why I don't consider myself 100% vegan?
Well...
I go home two or three times a year.
And my mom cooks some recipes that...
...Yes, they contain either milk or eggs.
I don't talk about meat, because during these three years I haven't eaten meat at all.
And I eat them.
For example, the sponge-cake is a food from my childhood.
And I feel the urge to eat it.
Or sometimes I need drugs which are important for my health.
And I don't know if you are aware of this, but 99.99% of the drugs from all around the world are tested on animals.
And, not least...
I don't really want to admit this thing, but...
I am addicted to sweets.
And...
It happens to eat sweets which have milk and eggs.
And yes...
This is why I don't consider myself 100% vegan.
But I think it's important subject to touch in this community.
Because...
In my opinion...
...Even someone who considers themselves 5% or 10% vegan...
...Is a person who I appreciate.
I think it's more important that you try to do something...
...Than to do nothing.
This is my opinion.
And yes...
At the end of the day I am more than happy with effort I make to...
...Become better at this lifestyle.
And...
Yes...
If you consider you can take my vegan label.
It's not that important for me.
More important for me is the fact that in these three years...
...I've became better and better at being vegan,
I haven't eaten at all meat,
I've promoted, especially on Instagram,
this lifestyle.
I made some persons change their perspective on veganism.
I made some actually become vegan.
What I want to say is that...
...Even if you are 5% vegan...
...I am proud of you and...
...I thank you that you contribute to the well-being of animals.
MY FAVOURITE RECIPE
I could also tell you what you could eat.
But this is another subject.
Therefore I thought of showing you one of my favourite recipes.
It's a recipe I made it myself...
...A few weeks ago...
...And I hope you will like it.
For two serving we will need 200 grams of quinoa,
two teaspoons of turmeric,
and one teaspoon of cumin.
And then I used approximately two-three teaspoons of grape seed oil.
You can use another oil.
I let it become hot and I added the spices.
Then you add quinoa,
you stir it,
you add two cups of water,
and based on your preferences, salt.
And then you let it boil approximately 15 minutes.
Then you add approximately 100 grams of peas,
and this is the quinoa mix.
And for the salad I like to use baby spinach,
cherry tomatoes,
and lemon.
As an advice, I recommend you to use organic spinach and cherry tomatoes.
Because those are in the top of most contaminated foods with pesticides.
Not least,
you prepare one serving of tofu.
This is already prepared from the 'Lord of Tofu'.
But you can use the simple one, sprinkled with turmeric and prepared in oil.
I know it was very long video.
But it is a subject which I am really passionate about.
And I wanted to present you as much information as possible.
If you like it, you can subscribe and...
...I will see you next time with a vlog at Sinaia.
BYE!

An Armenian Genocide Story // Armenian Lifestyle - Duration: 20:32.
I am a pianist
Of course, now I am not that vigorous
as I used to. When I was you young, I was performing in concerts, symphonic orchestras
I have also performed here at the Conservatory
I played in the concert devoted to Chaikovsky
I was young then
20-21 years old boy
I have strength to do something
Well
I was studying music for about 6-7 hours at home
Even now at this age
I have never stopped practicing music at least 20 minutes a day
I train my fingers to create music
So...
Have you studied at Conservatory?
Yes definitely. Did you teach there?
No, I haven't,
but my dad did
My father has lectured, he played kanon
You were playing really beautifully on the piano
My father
was somehow a famous person
People called him maestro
The other day I went to the Sayat Nova musical school
I also worked in a studio
where I got acquainted with this school's principal, he was a young nice man though.
He worked in the studio as a teacher like me, then became a director
There I asked the secretary
for the principal
She told me " Maestro was out."
My answer to her wwas like,
"There's only one maestro in Armenia,
and that's my father."
Maestro means a teacher, instructor.
My father always gathered
his students and taught them to play the instrument
at the Opera House
You get it?
You must have students,
somebody to give them your knowledge, skills
Those people are regarded a maestro
Not Everybody should be given that title
Toiday everyone is a maestro
It should match his/her skills, knowledge.
My grandpa was teaching in seven village schools
He hada small group of students whom he was teahing music
in seven different schools
Moreover,
he was the director of the local orchestra group
They were performing in national parades
I have phographs with my grandpa and dad
where I was so little
I was completely not seen in the photograph
among those huge accordions
Could you mention your father's name?
Gourgen Arsenich Aghayan
Thank you
They had a pretty good background
In the genoside years
They were a patriarchal family
Three brothers were living under one roof
with their big families: children, wives, grandchildren, etc
In 1915
My ancestors were living in Sebastia
which provided dairy food
such as milk, butter, matsun, cheese, etc for the region
then
On the eve of the mass killings a Turkish commander,
came to their house
and forced my grandpa to change his anme and surname
not to kill them
He was the head of Sebastia region
And...
However, after having been forcibly thrice asked to do it
my grandpa refused to betray his nation
The turks killed him in the backyard
Then, they made the women, children flee their homes otherwise they would kill them as well.
It's horrible
I have given 27 pieces of documents in relation with the atrocities
to our Genocide Museum
When the director of the museam saw those papers, got really surprised
he got really surprised
After deportation,
my dad and other members of the family
went to Odessa
Some also went to Baghdad, Der Dzor, etc.
My grandmother was graduated
from the Constantinpole university
In the genoside years, she was a young lady,
Those years American nursery houses offered their help
to take care of children
My grandma was the coordinator
of one of those children's group
I also have proof-papers about those days
When you read them,
tears fall down undoubtedly
My father's uncle's wife, Marica
at the age of 25
had 5 children
While in deportation
two of the chilldren died in Der Dzor desert
She killed the third child because of his sickness
Days and nights they had been wandering in the deserts
She dropped that child into the river Eprat(Araqs)
to stop sufferings for the child himself.
She gave the fifth child to Arabians for his safety
And at the end she left alone
She made her way to Baghdad,
then India
From India back to Constantinpole
From there to France
Her husband, Asatour
My father's uncle
before the genocide,
he served in the Turkish army
During genocide days
he got lost unheard
He knew, if he went back to Turkey, he would be brutally killed
There's an Armenian church in Baghdad
where a number of survivors had found a shelter
There these people were questioned about their family members, relatives
with the hope to find them
Marica found her husband at the church.
Then there was an English ship in Baghdad
which was sailing to India
for trade
The ship crew took 7 girls with them to India to work on board
as cleaners, waitresses, cooks.
When the ship came back, Asatour was waiting for Marica in Constantinpole
They travelled to France alone
They settled down in Marseille
Marica had a brother there in France
who had a newborn baby
Listen, carefully!!
In Marseille
The brother decided to give his newborn son
whose name was Zidan
to his sister, Marica to solace and support her grief
She had been in deportation for seven years
Zidan died just two years ago.
he was like a real daring uncle to us.
He lived in Gyumri
he was a literate man.
These memories were told by Marica at nights
At nights Marica told people about their journey.
Again I have kept all those papers with me at home
All the papers are now safely kept at the museum
A small parcel was only given to me
which contained various documents
among which there was a torn towel.
That towel were brought from America for the Armenian children
As my grandma was a coordinator of the nursery house
My dad, uncle and aunt were living in that orphanage
There the American gave these children towel with the American flag on it
My aunt and her big brother
cut the towel into two pieces
to have a memory in case they lost each other

the leg goes wider, and at the end
there is this wonderful embroidery

It fits very well
It costs about 30 $ and worths it
This is an L size and it's too large for me,
so take a smaller size
Now I show you the other items I received

how they fit
Those beautiful trousers fit very well
they could look like a skirt

Those are fitness bicolor trousers
they cost about 12$, L size
They fit perfectly and make you look thinner
I like them very much
Those easy trousers, I bet you have seen them on FB

they are a bit transparent
I like this coat very much
