Ok. I checked-in my flight
I packed like one hour before
and I'm at the lounge
Mexico City
I'm at the airport again
yesterday I came back from LA
and was like 10 hours in my house
and now on route to Atlanta
So, you don't say I'm not mexican
I passed customs
and don't know if you know this
but the airport in Korea
is one of the best in the world
so clean
super fast service
extra: all the people that work here
are super pretty
and they're always the kindest
Right now Imma have breakfast in the airport
cause the food here is good!
In korea, internet is crucial
everything works with an app
when you arrive, outside the arrival doors
there are these stands to rent SIM cards
and they're like 500 pesos
for 10 days (give or take)
internet is unlimited!
rent it. So important to move around here
Everytime I come to korea
I go to the 7-11
and buy one of this
and this
it's tasty vitamin C
And I'm the happiest
Everything is "easy" in korea
and technological
I'm jetlagged. Bye
Qué es esto abuela?
Qué cocinaste?
provecho, abuelo!
Coma rico
mmm está muy rico!
comí muy rico abuela!
gracias por comer rico :)
abuelo, estás feliz que vine a corea?
Jaja te ves bien abuelo!
me lo dices sólo para hacerme feliz
I'm in my grandparents house
I'm staying with them a couple of days
and i love it
cause I see them like every 2 years
people are asking me through IG
why my voice changes
when i speak korean
don't know
it has always happened to me
I think it happens to a lot of koreans
the hierarchy(of age) is really important here
I can't speak normal in korean
I'm like an anime speaking in korean
and this is my granpa!
and he so cute!
hi!
"i speak spanish"
"and where's the library?"
ok this is a typical korean night
we're in Sinchon, next to Hongdae
and people come here to drink and eat
korean Kyopos!
there's a difference from korean korean people
to Kyopos
Kyopos are koreans born in another country
it's a different vibe/culture
koreans koreans are too koreans. Jaja.
really different
Andrew doesn't speak spanish
but I love you guys
and here we are
in Sinchon, Korea.
let nobody lie to you
Soju is the worst hangover ever
imma die
i hate this hangover with soju
the worst
Ok today is Sunday
and many people here in a sunny day
come to Hangang
the river the passes through Seoul
and you come to eat and drink next to the river
and there are people
selling tents and things for your picnic
you can drink on the streets here
you have a beer, chillin' next to the river
and you don't waste sun
so people here
do this
you order k-chicken
oh, this is Robyn and Rob
they're a couple
so, anyways. You order chicken
and order any kind of food really
and they bring it to your spot
the river is there
*nervous laugh* we're so hungover
Guatemala
Correction. SanFrancisco
England
En Hangang
When you come with friends
You come for your beer and ramen
and there's a lot of people
but perfect plan for a hangover
So until now I'm reviving from my weekend
with Soju
For the ones who don't know
it's the traditional drink from here
and no, I'm not named after a drink
there's different "o" in korea
well, but obviously nobody notices the difference..
the alcohol name is "Soju"
and my name is "SeoJu"
there's a difference
everyone here moves through subway
it's super easy
it takes you everywhere (even other cities)
it's efficient
and in time!
so the public transportation is so good
imma take you through the subway
you put you T-money here
you can put it in english so no worries
we're gonna put 20,000 won
it's like 20 US.
cause with this you can pay every public transport
yes, everything is "cute" in korea
super normal for there to be shops
make-up stands, electronics
in the subway
people ask me a lot
if in korea they see me as foreigner
yes they do
not because how i speak
but because i'm a little dark skin that koreans
people here are obsessed
to have white white skin
something I LOVE of korea
is that medicine is cheap
pharmacist are like doctors
so i tell them "i'm too hungover"
and they give me the recommended meds
so for example this was 3,500 Wons
it's like 3-4 US dollars
medicine is so cheap
people that don't know
here in korea
when you're a year older
even a day
you speak to that persona differently (formal)
the first thing everyone asks is how old you are
so they know how to speak to you
there are a lot of things i love of korea
but something i hate
and gets in my nerves
here the elders/adults are so aggresive
they're used to being "the elder ones"
so unconditional "respect" is expected
which is correct and great for some cases
but sometimes they abuse that "power"
even if it's a stranger
they feel entitled to preach you
just because they're "older"
(that happens a lot to ones that are/look koreans)
(not usually to foreigners)
that ain't cool of korea tho
here "entrepreneurship"
and young people doing their own thing
doesn't really happen
and it's one of the reason i wouldn't be able to live here
this doesn't just apply to my example
but in work
hierarchy applies in every situation
we're in Gwangjang Market
they sell every kind of food
good and cheap!
and fun to look at
he is Nigel my friend from Singapore
and we're here to eat Naengmyeon
cold noodles
this specific one is from North Korea
but there's one of South Korea
and they taste different
you put vinager
and mustard
people that know koreans know "pali pali"
that means "faster, faster"
because people here "can't" waste time
so this is the best food to go
cup-ramen and rice-triangles
these type of street food is everywhere
it's a typical korean snack/food
it's so cheap
you eat something in 10 min
and it's a meal
sundae
hotdog - with cheese and sausage.
and with sugar
and this is teaobokki
rice-cakes
this is so korean
this combination
every k-beauty shop sells every kind of thing
masks, all kind of creams, etc
good morning
from Seoul
oh my god my face
girls ask me a lot
my "face-routine"
but i don't do much
i just worry to clean my face well
and that's why I'm pimple free haha
soap
this cleanses deeply
the best thing is that it's small for my trips
can you hear the vibration?
and you charge it like once every month or so
before i didn't take care of my skin
so that's why my forehead is brown-ish
but now.. age is kicking in friends
and now I'm using thins trick of using just
on my forehead.. haha
hopefully i'll look one single color one day
so yeah, wash your face well
I recommend Foreo
and sunblock
why have i been so swollen this trip?
the truth is i've been drinking a lot friends
so that's why my puffyness
sorry. can't do nothing about that
my grandma
my grandma is making shabu shabu
food in korea is good
but home-made food is the best
the reason koreans are not fat
is because they eat their veggies people!
I'm leaving
I'm the worst at packing
these 10 intense days of eating and drinking
haven't done this since i'm in high school
I'm dead
still puffy
don't have a voice
but all good
coming here for me is like a second home
i wouldn't live here
i like having kyopo friends and family here
it's nice to come back
but bye for now korea
my favorite thing
is this banana milk!
don't think is good for you
just sugar
but it's awesome
many have asked me
what you need to travel to korea as mexicans
nothing
no visa needed
and costs wise give or take
flights
from 1,000-1,500 US round trip
hotels from 60-120 US dollars
you can eat with 5 dollars on the streets
I'm in Detriot for my connection flight
and OMG my eye bags
this is accumulated tiredness
what i carry in flights in my fannypack
yes, I'm a person that wears fannypacks now
masks
passport
power-bank
wallet
the worst thing of being hours stuck in an airport (US)
is that there are decent places to eat at
other that junk food
one of the things i love of korea is their airport
great quality restaurants
tasty
not like here that they sell you a pizza "Napolitan"
for 16 dollars
and tastes like pepper
i can't anymore
need decent food
been more than 24 hours traveling
I'm dead
