How to make Dosa Batter? How to make Plain/Paper Crispy Dosa? Beginners Series PART 1 - Duration: 6:53.

Hello Friends, today I will show you how to make Dosa Batter and then a crispy Dosa

For that we will prepare a batter.

Take Urad Dal(split white gram), 1/2 tsp methi dana(fenugreek seed) and rice

Take dal and rice in 1:3 ratio

Soak overnight or for 4-5 hours

Put meth idana in dal and wash nicely

After washing I have soaked dal and rice in water.

Dal is soaked now. I have drained all water from dal and rice.

Now grind Rice with less water because we need thick batter

Grind to make a smooth paste.

Now I will grind dal and pour in rice batter

Mix well.

Keep in a warm place either sunlight or in microwave(off mode)

let it ferment for 10-12 hours

With this batter I will show you how to make idli, Types of dosa, Uthapam etc

Batter is fermented after 12 hours.

add salt.

I have taken out little batter in another bowl and in this I have added water to make it thin.

I have put a pan to heat it up. While pouring batter keep flame on low.

Take a full ladle and pour in the centre of pan and spread slowly in a round manner as shown in video.

Apply ghee and spread evenly.

You can even take a normal tawa also. Just grease it with little oil and wipe it with kitchen tissue.

If your pan is too much non sticky then also you will not be able to make crispy dosa

Its getting brown now.

Flame is high.

This is plain/paper dosa.

Crispy paper dosa is ready.

It is so crispy that when I am leaving dosa its giving a sound.

I am serving today with sambhar and coconut chutney.
