English for Spanish Speakers 46 - 'approve a test' or 'pass a test'? (with subtitles) - Duration: 2:36.

Hello once again everyone, and welcome back to 'One English Tip in One Minute

for Spanish Speakers' where each week I talk about, in detail, one common

English mistake made by those who speak Spanish as a mother tongue, and this is

the 46th video...or video number 46.

Okay I think I know how this goes. You know

what I'm going to say, and you kind of roll your eyes like 'Oh, here he goes

again,' but you know what...you like it. I think you know you like it. I don't

know, anyway. Again -- and I mean this -- I totally appreciate the fact that you're

working to improve your English. I hope you keep it up, and I hope these

videos help. In these videos, I show you a slide, and on the slide there are

two sentences: One is the correct way that someone who speaks English as a

mother tongue would say it, the other is the wrong way that many Spanish speakers

say it. Your task is to decide which one is correct. Please do that now.

Read the sentences, listen to me read the sentences, think about your answer, pause

the video and I will talk about the answer in the slide that follows this

coming slide.

Again, if you got it wrong -- or if you just took a wild guess and happened

to get it right without knowing why -- I hope you now know why as we talked about

it in the last slide. I hope you start to study to get past this mistake.

To start you off on that process -- and it's a very simple beginning -- I've given

you three sentences to study from. Memorize these sentences in their

entirety, review them -- really get them into your head -- and put into practice

what you've learned through speaking or writing or both...and use the many, many

resources that are out there to help you (including my own...but there are many

others, of course, as well). So, yeah, just work to get past that mistake.

An evening hunt for Largemouth Bass with Uncle Catfish - Duration: 1:48.

So, we just casted the Deeper Smart Sonar out.

Actually, casted it out on this nice lightweight rod.

Got some pretty lightweight braid on it, compared to what I normally use.

And already reading it's at 20.6 feet.

And right exactly where it's at, right now there's not a whole lot of action going on.

So, we're gonna reel it in real slow. Couple turns at a time.

And as I'm bringing it in, it's showing me different structure.

On the screen itself, it's showing me that there's grass. There's green on the bottom.

There's grass... there's grass... there's grass...

And in July here, at this lake, we do deal with a lot of grass.

So, it is nice to see that. Although, as I'm reeling it in right here,

it's already showing me a line at 12 and a half feet suspended bait fish.

So, I have a pile of bait fish right there, underneath the sonar bobber.

So, where the bait fish is, there's usually a big fish.

So right now, we just marked a real nice fish.

There's a real decent fish right there and I would imagine it's a largemouth bass.

And it's getting kind of dark this time of night,

so the fishing should kind of turn on.

There's one.

There's one that's suspended.

So, that's two that are suspended.

I do believe that they're moving up now, that it's evening.

You can't see it, but the guys around us are kind of getting bit up

and there's some bugs coming out.

So this just relays the information to me,

that the fish are gonna start hitting top water and eat these bugs very soon.
