Arab Israelis: What do you think of the BDS Movement? - Duration: 10:27.

Do you know what BDS is?

Abd Haifa

Boycott

Yes, I know of it

What do you think of it?

I don't know much about it

I have no opinion

You can say whatever you want I don't care

I understand but I don't know much about the subject

so I have nothing to say

What do you think of the boycott?

Ahmad Barta

The boycott against Israel

There is no such thing

No such thing? - No

What is your opinion of having a boycott against Israel?

No, no

No

Yes, it has an effect on him

the boycott from abroad has an effect on him

I am Israeli

Do you know what BDS is?

No

Ibrahim Jaffa

The boycott against Israel

because Palestinians outside...

Do you support it? Don't support it? What is your view?

I don't support something that is against humanity

I agree

But how does...

Let me tell you, do you know why I said that?

Because I am married to a Jew

So you don't want a boycott on the Jews

I don't anyone boycotted

doesn't matter if a Jew or not

Do you know what BDS is?

No

It is the boycott against Israel

Jony Kfar Rami

In Arabic it is 'mukata'

boycotting the country

What do you think of it?

Truthfully, I have no political views at all

Are you just saying that?

No

I never thought about political things

What do you think of BDS?

Waseem Haifa

I have no opinion

You have no opinion?

I have but I don't want to share it

Why not?

I came to the most political area (of Haifa)

If it's about politics, I don't want to

I am outside of politics

and I want to stay here

No one is going to throw you out because you give an opinion

No, not because of what anyone will do to me

in my country

I just don't want to share

Ask me something else

besides politics, there are lots of interested subjects

Have you heard of BDS?

Tamar Ramat Gan

The boycott against Israel

Yes

You have heard of it

Do you think it is a good idea?

that there be a boycott against Israel

You can say whatever you want I am not from any political view...

There is a phrase in Arabic

"whoever knocks at the door hears the reply"

the reply

So everything that happens I blame only the occupation

I don't blame the people or anything else

Because of the occupation

For example, I am from Sakhnin

and we live there very well

with all the Jews

Here I don't get along (with the Jews)

What do you mean "here"?

Here in Tel Aviv I don't get along with them

They are so racist

Really?

You run into racism

Not nice

So you support...

I dont' support

For sure I don't support

So how can the occupation end

through other ways?

All the mess with al Aqsa mosque and the Western Wall

Let the Muslims pray at al Aqsa Mosque

let the Jews pray at the Wall and it's all solved

(that week there was a temporary ban on praying at al Aqsa)

There is no other way

No prejudice, and that's it

Why at the airport do Arabs have to go through a whole check

while Jews can just go through?

So it is all about "how"

so if a police officer comes to me

and he has a bad way

or speaks to me not nicely

or inappropriately

for sure I would start to hate him

Right?

But if someone speaks to me nicely

So it's an issue of respect

Yes, for sure yes

what I think you are saying is

"I have all the rights that a Jew has here"

"but the behaviour..."

Look, let's be real

they divide us into first class, second class, third class

You think that is true? - Yes

Always with Arabs, they run away from me

The question is, do you know what BDS is?

BDS. You guys are in university

You should know what BDS is

BDS is boycotting Israel

Usually in universities outside

They don't want to deal with Israel at all

Boycott

What do you say about it?

Your opinions?

You don't want to speak?

I don't know

If you don't know, you don't know

but does anyone have an opinion?

Ask him - No, leave me alone

Mohammad Shfaram

It is ineffective

Why is it not effective?

I don't know

It just isn't it isn't a way...

There are other ways

Wait, this actually good

So what would be a good way?

to create change here

What's going on?

So what is a good way?

I don't know

I never thought about it

We need to speak

to ask questions

not to do this BDS thing

not boycott

That's it Thank you

Do you know what BDS is?

It is the boycott

Mohammad Ramle

against Israeli goods

What is it called?

In English? BDS

It means that people won't buy Israeli products

Do you agree with it?

No

Why?

What does it matter?

is it something useful?

Why can't they buy?

Kid in Barta

No

Does he believe there should be a boycott against Israel?

Yes

Rami Barta

No

Do you think there should be a boycott of Israel?

No

Why not?

I am an Israeli

(I didn't believe him :))

What is your background?

Christian

It is the boycott that they want to do against Israel

BDS is a boycott movement

Majdi (Golan Druze) Majd al Shams

against Israel

True

What do you think of it?

Does it help? Not help?

Maybe it will help?

It helps

How does it help?

I don't know exactly

If you don't know, say you don't know, it's okay

it's legitimate

I really don't know

If I told you that I will boycott Israel

until Israel returns the Golan to Syria

Support or against?

Of course I support that

You support? You want to go back to Syria?

even with all the problems there?

No, it's our land, that's why

What?

Syria is our land, that's why

Syria is your land, ok

Discourse - 03.11.17 | Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai | Yugpurush Saardh Shatabdi Mahotsav - Duration: 50:53.

Shrimad Rajchandra Vachanamrut Patrank - 875

Om

At the Lotus Feet of the Supremely compassionate Great Sage,

Salutation with supreme devotion and reverence.

Wondrous are the nectar-like teachings,

Countenance and association of the Enlightened One!

They awaken the dormant consciousness,

Prevent the inclination from falling,

Simply beholding which makes one flawless and kindles the unprecedented nature,

They are the cause for right faith of the Self, restraint devoid of indolence (negligence),

And state of absolute dispassion and thoughtlessness;

Lastly, manifesting the state devoid of activities of mind, speech and body,

And causing abidance in the infinite, unobstructed nature of the Self!

Be victorious forever!

Om Peace Peace Peace

How long will we remain in delusion?

How long will we wander aimlessly in the temporary?

How long will we remain attracted to a rainbow?

To realise the temporary as temporary,

Is the first step towards the eternal.

To recognise the worthless as worthless,

Opens the doors of that which is worthwhile.

No matter how much we may fear death,

Yet, death is certain.

The physical body is temporary.

Whether you are unafraid or afraid,

Death is certain.

Fire cannot become water.

The temporary can never become eternal.

Many courageous people like Alexander and Napoleon were defeated.

Because in the attraction of gathering the temporary,

Finally, at the time of death,

They left as beggars.

They left everything behind.

They left with their hands empty.

They left without taking anything.

Courageous men like Alexander and Napoleon,

Yet, they left their mortal body as beggars.

On the other hand, there were such Great embodied Beings,

Who began to go towards the eternal,

They blew the trumpet of victory,

They gathered everything that they had attained during their lifetime,

And took it all with them beyond death.

Everything that one attained during his lifetime,

Alexander was enthroned at the age of 11,

At the age of 21, he became the ruler of Macedonia.

At the age of 25, he ruled over Greece,

At 27 years of age, he conquered India,

And at the age of 32, left his body.

But he left everything behind.

He could not take even a needle beyond death.

And whatever the Great Beings did,

At every moment in this temporal life,

They took all of it beyond death.

Who was victorious?

Who was defeated?

How long will we continue to wander aimlessly?

This world is not our native land, it is foreign.

The entire world is foreign land.

If someone mistakes a guest house as his home,

He will definitely regret it.

Right now, you have all been allotted guest houses, haven't you?

If you believe it to be your home, then complaints will start.

But if you consider it as a guest house, then you will think,

'I have to leave it after three days anyway.'

'So why not stay focused on what I have come here for.'

'How can I stay here?'

If this is how you think, then you should leave this world immediately.

Because I am asking you, "How can you stay in this world?"

Where nothing is yours, nothing belongs to you,

Everything is temporary, transitory.

The ignorant believes that the guest house is his home.

A guest house means arriving on the evening of the 1st,

And departing on the afternoon of the 5th.

Without any complaints.

Without any concerns.

In a guest house, if you have a roof over your head to sleep, it is enough.

But if you believe it is your home when it is not,

Then many thoughts will arise.

This world, your house is not your real home.

It is only a guest house.

You come to a guest house in the evening and leave the next morning.

You can even call it a hotel.

In a state of ignorance,

Having mistaken the guest house as your home,

You continued the same worrying and chasing.

Now, quickly try to turn towards your own true home.

Great Beings bring the message of one's own home.

Great Beings have only one purpose.

That which you consider your home is actually a guest house.

The place you believe is your home; you will be tied up and thrown out from there.

Those who throw you out, will be your close family.

This is not your own home.

That, which I am showing you is your real home.

That is your true residence.

They bring messages of your own home,

But the words of Great Beings, are not immediately accepted by the intellect.

They are not understood.

Because the Great Ones speak from one shore,

While we are on the other shore.

We believe the temporary to be eternal,

And still chase only wealth, status and family.

Therefore, despite bringing the message of one's own home,

In the beginning, there is no alignment.

Slowly and gradually, you start to realise,

And later, it seems like common sense.

Extraordinary in that it seems like common sense,

Of course, it is so!

The Enlightened One brings the message of one's own home.

Param Krupalu Dev's words contain the message of one's own home.

It is not just a message,

It does not just set a goal,

It also gives guidance on how to reach one's home.

Not only guidance, but it also offers encouragement,

It offers joy and enthusiasm.

His words have the power to awaken a strong desire.

As we hear these words,

We start to understand,

That which I believe to be my home,

Is not my home.

It lies within.

If there is an object behind your back,

But you have not turned around and faced it,

Then you may think it does not exist,

Or that it is very far,

Or it is very difficult.

But if you turn slightly,

Then Truth seems to be simple, easy to understand, and easily attainable.

All that is needed is to turn within.

There is nothing to acquire.

There is no journey.

All that is required is to turn within.

If this is understood,

Then the passion and the yearning that is needed for making effort,

The joy and the encouragement that is needed,

Can be found in the words of Param Krupalu Dev.

Our stream of consciousness, without any purpose,

Was wandering aimlessly here and there.

Because of Param Krupalu Dev's words,

It has made an auspicious start towards the goal.

As was sung yesterday,

The auspicious start has occurred.

Towards the goal,

Now we are very clear, what we want,

What we want to do,

What we want to achieve,

If I narrate my own experience,

I will, if not immediately, but definitely.

Such a call arises from within.

If not now, immediately,

I may not have the readiness, to attain self-realisation today,

But I have received these words,

I have received this nectar of wisdom,

Definitely.

As you hear these words more and more,

You start dreaming of attaining self-realisation.

He gives us the dreams and He fulfils our dreams - both.

Till you had not experienced the touch of these words,

You were satisfied with performing ordinary rituals.

Performing Pratisthas (consecrations), going on pilgrimages,

Performing devotional chanting and practising austerities,

You were satisfied.

As you listen more and more to these words,

You insist on having direct experience.

You want to meet yourself face-to-face.

Not merely listening but wanting to meet face-to-face.

If these words have genuinely touched you, then,

The importance of spiritual retreats will reduce.

And the value of direct experience will increase.

These words ignite the light of discrimination within you.

The fragrance of the Soul is emitted.

Just as a snake is attracted by the sound of the flute,

These words attract us so much,

That once you begin, you do not want to stop.

I play a trick with this.

If someone requests a short spiritual practice,

I tell them to read just one letter daily.

The person readily agrees with me.

He thinks, it will take two or five minutes, because the letters are quite short.

Within fifteen days, he comes back to me saying,

"I am unable to put it down."

I have experienced this power.

Therefore, I say from experience, that it is so interesting that it is difficult to put down.

Even Rasmalai (an Indian sweet) would feel shy.

There is only one reason for this.

These words have arisen from direct experience.

Every word has been touched by personal experience.

Therefore they are heart touching.

In every vein, every pore of the Lord,

Is the joy of soul-consciousness.

The words have arisen from self-experience,

Hence they seem so interesting and heart touching.

The Lord's words are like perfume.

Just as perfume contains the essence of flowers,

Just as one or two drops of perfume are adequate,

The Lord's words are like perfume.

The essence of all the scriptures.

She mentioned, "The essence of infinite canons."

I know of 45, but she said, "The essence of infinite canons."

They contain the essence of the scriptures.

They have the power to bring subtlety to our awareness.

They resonate with the sound of dispassion.

Such is the power of these words.

They contain the essence of scriptures.

With subtle precision,

The Lord studied the scriptures and texts written by earlier Masters.

With subtle intellect, He determined the essence of the Jain Canons,

He assimilated them.

And then in His own original style,

He revealed the secrets of the Jain Canons,

Expressed their meanings.

Vachanamrut is not a mere compilation of scriptures.

You keep a diary,

And whenever you come across, something good, you make a note of it.

Vachanamrut is not like that.

That, from different sources, whatever you may have read or heard,

Whatever you may have liked,

To gather all these good things, and put it in one place.

It is not a compilation of scriptures.

However through spiritual pursuits,

It is the cream amongst expressions.

One who merely provides references of sacred texts, in his speech,

These great men have said this in this scripture,

This Enlightened Being has said this in this sacred text,

He is a very good teacher, but not a saint.

Talking about great men is also considered ordinary.

Because it is an opportunity to talk about someone else's experience.

A saint is one who speaks from His own experience.

He is a scripture unto Himself.

Everything that Param Krupalu Dev has said,

Appears in scriptures.

But it is not that it has been said because it appears in scriptures.

It has emerged from His own experience.

That which also appears in the scriptures.

And I have made every effort during my study of PhD,

For every word, to say, 'Adhyatmasaar mentions this in the same way,'

'Mokshmarg Prakashak mentions exactly the same,'

'Samaysaar Granth states the same,'

I have tried in this way,

But it has not been said just because it is in the scriptures.

It has been written somewhere,

Someone has said it,

Not because of that.

The Lord says, "I am a witness to it."

I have seen it, hence I say it.

I have experienced it, hence I say it.

The experience of all Great Beings will be the same.

The difference is only in expression.

So you will find it in one scripture or another.

The Lord had said to Sobhagbhai,

"Whatever I have said, can definitely be found in one scripture or another."

But neither is every scripture available, nor are we worthy enough,

If you wonder where could it have been written,

Then, have faith.

This has been experienced personally.

Not imagined, not read, not heard.

But having undergone personal experience.

Those who want to attain the Supreme State,

For them, Vachanamrut is an unprecedented sacred text.

An extraordinary sacred text.

An incomparable sacred text.

When we refer to it as an unprecedented sacred text.

When it is a devotee of Param Krupalu Dev

Who says, it is an unprecedented sacred text,

Then, one must understand a few things.

It seems unprecedented to me.

Therefore, these words seem unprecedented to me.

This expression seems unprecedented and heart touching to me,

I feel that these words have awakened the dormant consciousness within me.

That is all that I have to say.

I am not saying that Truth is unprecedented.

Truth is always eternal.

Truth can never become outdated.

Truth can never be new.

Truth can never be destroyed.

Truth is always eternal.

Waves can be new, but the ocean is always present.

From the viewpoint of the Truth,

I do not wish to say that this is unprecedented.

From the viewpoint of subject matter, it is not unprecedented,

Someone had said to me, when I had gone to Dubai many years ago,

One person said to me,

"In your discourses, something that I have never heard before,"

"There is a lot of talk about the Soul."

I replied, "Besides the Soul, what else is there to talk about in a discourse?"

In terms of the subject matter, it is not unprecedented.

It is not as if no one else has ever spoken of the Soul.

Not in terms of subject, but in terms of style, it is unprecedented.

One needs to understand the difference.

Truth is always eternal,

Truth can never be outdated,

Truth cannot be new.

Nothing new can arise.

Truth is always present.

Truth can never be destroyed.

From the point of view of Truth,

It is always present, it is eternal.

But the experience of this Truth can be unprecedented.

Truth is eternal, but when I experience it,

At that time, I can say, "I have attained the unprecedented."

It does not mean that which I had attained, did not exist before.

Those who walk with their eyes on the ground,

Who have never looked up at the sky,

One day, suddenly, if they look up at the sky,

Then they will say to everyone,

"I have attained something unprecedented."

Right and wrong.

The sky existed from the times of their ancestors.

The sky always existed.

So, nothing new has happened in terms of the sky's existence.

But I experienced the sky today,

So the sky appears unique to me,

From this point of view, it is perfect.

There is a big difference.

That which Bhagwan Mahavira had experienced,

Param Krupalu Dev had exactly the same experience of the Soul.

So, there is nothing unprecedented in terms of the Soul.

But the experience can be unprecedented.

When I fall in love,

Regardless of whether it is with a girl or God,

I don't have a choice, but I am saying this for you,

And I start having an unprecedented experience,

One which Apurvaji or Nemiji would not understand,

What it is to experience love,

I had a personal experience of love today.

It does not mean that love came into existence today.

Love always existed.

So, Truth is eternal.

Experience can be unprecedented because,

I had not experienced it before

And today, I have.

So I have attained the unprecedented.

It is not wrong if I say this.

If we go further,

Truth is eternal,

In terms of experience, it is unprecedented.

And in terms of expression, there is originality.

It is novel. And in this context, it is also unprecedented.

Expression. First, I spoke about Truth.

Then I spoke about experience, personal experience.

Now I am speaking of expression.

Expression can be varied.

From a vast range of expressions,

If this particular expression touched me the most,

Then even a devotee can say,

"For me, these words are unprecedented."

Expressions can be varied.

If yesterday's programme is to be expressed in different ways, then

Kumarpalbhai will do it in a different way,

Amit Sheth will do it differently,

Kirit Daftary will do it differently.

If you have experienced sunrise,

Then one will express it through poetry,

Another will express it through music,

Someone will express it by remaining silent and meditative,

Expressions can be varied.

The ignorant one gets confused between different expressions.

Someone says that there is only one Fundamental Substance.

The second says that it is dual.

One says it is non-dual.

The other says it is dual.

One says that the path of knowledge is the only way.

The second says that the path of devotion encompasses everything.

In all these different forms of expression,

A person is confused.

Here, Param Krupalu Dev offers beautiful guidance,

Whichever form of expression seems the best of all to you,

Choose that.

Then, it may be a saint or a sacred text.

Or a path.

That which has helped you to open up, to awaken,

That which has contributed to your unprecedented feelings,

Choose that.

But don't make the mistake of convincing others that it is the best in the world.

It is the best for me.

Because, by listening to these words,

I turn towards the Soul.

For me, this is the best.

Now, devotees will again make a mistake.

They will say, "This is only right expression."

Or, "This expression is the best of all."

"Except this, all others are either wrong, or small."

Either they are all wrong.

Or the others are not as good.

They are not as original, novel or unique.

Everything is only in this.

Grapes, sugarcane, honey, dates,

Before me, she has said so much already,

Otherwise, I would have said more.

It just struck me.

Apart from this, Truth is nowhere else.

This is certainly the best of all.

The way in which you try to convince the world,

That is where you falter.

Then your inclination, instead of turning within, becomes comparative.

This saint's discourse and that saint's discourse - you will start comparing them.

Both may be expressing the same thing.

Whichever expression awakens your soul,

Choose that.

Find one Enlightened Being, surrender all your feelings at His Lotus Feet & obey Him.

This sacred text offers such guidance.

So long as you have not awakened,

Until then, choose one.

After awakening, you will find only one!

There won't be any other.

But you have still not awakened,

Yet you want to go for three days here,

Three days there and three days elsewhere.

You want to go to Ladakh and go here and meditate there,

You want to meditate in Chennai, meditate in Dharampur,

And do something else.

In all this, you will get confused.

Then you will start comparing.

Then you will judge.

Then you will criticise.

Then the one you were praising before,

You will start criticising the same.

I get a lot of these samples in America.

At first they praise the speaker who had come,

When I go there the second time,

They criticise the same person.

They are all confused.

The guidance offered in this sacred text is,

That which you have found to be the best of all,

That which has touched your heart,

Choose that.

But to say that it is the best of all and everything else is wrong,

Don't try to prove that to the world.

Otherwise, you will lose your aim.

You will go astray.

In any case, after awakening, everything is going to merge.

It will appear as one.

Even in different forms of expression, you will find, unity in diversity.

But not before awakening.

You will have to remain steady.

But on what basis will you make this choice?

The religion you were born into?

On the basis of your religious sect?

On the basis of your mother and father?

On the basis of friends?

Some also do it based on their son or daughter.

No.

On the basis of experience.

Listen to the words.

Reflect on them.

Experiment.

And then based on your experience, make a choice.

It is very important.

Jesus was born in a Jewish family.

Jesus was born as a Jew.

But he was not comfortable with the Jewish customs.

They did not match his experience.

He conducted his own experiments,

And whatever emerged as his experience,

He offered to the world.

Mohammed was born in an idol-worshipping family.

But he was not happy with this practice.

He revealed the meditation of the formless to the world.

Mahavira was born in the Kshatriya (warrior) caste.

But He was not comfortable with the way of violence.

He championed non-violence as the supreme religion.

Experience determines one's choice.

If we contract a disease,

We get numerous pieces of advice.

From relatives,

From friends,

From people who we do not even know,

If we cough two or three times on the road,

Then we are given the advice of 4-5 home remedies.

Doctors offer good guidance,

Listen to everyone, with love.

But listen to what your body says.

The banana experiment was very beneficial for Sapnaben.

And her husband too.

They said, "Bapa, upon waking in the morning, You should only eat 3 bananas."

I tried but my weight increased.

And my health worsened.

I did not say to them that they were wrong,

That their experiment was wrong.

It benefited you but it does not suit me.

I did not say that the experiment was wrong.

This choice is not as if, you cannot decide whether to accept this one as your Guru

Or the other as your Guru.

Let's see, heads or tails?

Tossing the coin to see the outcome,

You cannot make a choice like this.

Selection should be made based on personal experience.

So making a choice is a must.

Before awakening, you will definitely have to make a choice.

But it should be based on your experience.

Meera said, "For me, there is Giridhar Gopal. There is no other."

See how stubborn she is.

This is not being stubborn.

All that Meera wants to say is, "I find everything in my Krishna."

"I don't need anyone else."

She did not say that others were wrong.

Neither did she say that others were less.

Neither wrong, nor less.

Whatever I need, I have found everything in my Giridhar.

"There is no other."

This is for people at primary level before an awakening,

For beginners.

After awakening, there is only one.

Gandhiji sang throughout his life,

"Ishwar and Allah are both Your names, May God bless all with true wisdom."

Never did he express any discrimination,

Never did he feel it.

But at the end of his life,

When he was hit by three bullets,

At that time, did he say "Hey Ishwar, Hey Allah?"

He said, "Hey Ram."

Then the question arises that throughout his life, was he a hypocrite?

If he believed in Ishwar, Allah,

Then even in the final moments, he should have said Ishwar, Allah.

Had he said Ishwar Allah,

Even then you would have had a problem,

He said Ishwar first, He took the Hindu God's name first.

Then he said Allah.

He had a choice.

He also had openness.

He certainly had a choice.

That I am praying to the form of Rama,

But Allah is also a form of Rama,

Rama is also a form of Ishwar,

Such unity.

But he definitely had a choice.

So it is very important to know that,

Worshipping a specific person,

Being attached a specific person is one thing,

And, being steadfast in one,

This is considered as a high level of devotion.

The path is very narrow.

Have you become a fanatic?

Or are you practising supreme devotion?

Only an Enlightened Being can determine.

Or your subtle, unbiased introspection can tell you.

But it is certain that, love will take you to your destination,

Not the beloved.

So, your insistence on establishing your beloved everywhere,

It is only a medium,

To make your love pure and complete.

Finally, that pure and complete love will, take you to your destination.

Not the beloved.

Love will take you to your destination.

But if you feel that by loving a particular beloved,

My love can become pure, then do that. But do not insist on it.

This is a very important thing.

Having true love for one,

Make your love complete.

And in that state of total love,

You will find there is only one.

Start with separateness,

And reach oneness.

From form, reach the formless.

The question arises that there have been

So many learned teachers in the past.

There have been so many saints in the past.

There are so many sacred texts.

They already exist.

An entire lifetime is not long enough to study them all.

Amongst them, here is a new saint.

And another new sacred text.

What was the need for these?

Do you understand the question?

There have been so many saints in the past,

If you wanted count the beads of a rosary,

You already know the names of 108 saints.

If you want to study different sacred texts,

There is no shortage.

Then, why do we need another sacred text, Shri Atmasiddhi Shastra?

Or Vachanamrut?

What was the need?

Understand this,

Truth is eternal.

Experience and expression can be unprecedented.

Even that expression,

Slowly loses its impact due to the changes occurring in place and time.

When we say that its impact is lost,

We are not referring to the impact of the sacred text.

The impact that the sacred text should have on the society does not occur.

And in this, the fault lies with the people.

It is not due to an incompleteness in the Enlightened Being.

Sectarianism reaches such high proportions,

People become mechanical, dry intellectuals,

Performing lifeless rituals,

Having mere intellectual understanding,

Due to these, the meaning, the essence is lost.

Something as wonderful as Pratikraman, (Jain ritual of repentance),

A word as wonderful as Pratikraman,

Cannot be found anywhere, however much you try.

To turn back,

To re-direct the outward going consciousness, and turn it within.

But where does it mean this now?

Pratikraman has now come to mean,

Should it be observed on the fourth or the fifth lunar day?

Pratikraman has come to mean,

Should one perform it with a piece of cloth covering the mouth?

Holding the piece of cloth in the hand? Or not having it at all?

Pratikraman has come to mean,

Which sutras should be recited?

Which verses should be recited?

Which devotional song should be sung?

If Pratikraman has come to mean only these things,

Then once again, an Enlightened Being, needs to give new life to Truth.

Within a few years,

If you owned a shirt or had something tailored,

Within 5-7 years, you will need to be re-measured,

Because it feels tight.

Within 5-6 years.

If not 5-6 years, take 10 years!

After 10 years, you may still call it your shirt,

But it feels tight.

You need to be measured again before you wear it.

I still have my old clothes, but they no longer fit.

I may still have clothes from 1990,

But they do not fit any more,

Although it is my own.

It was tailored as per my measurements.

But it no longer fits.

If I insist on wearing the same shirt, it will tear.

Or I will experience discomfort.

Even that shirt needs to have a new life.

Similarly, over and over again,

Through Enlightened Beings,

It is necessary for the expression of Truth to be revived.

A father told his son,

In our times, our father used to give us Rs. 10,

With that Rs 10, we would go to the market,

Now hear this,

We could buy, tea, sugar, milk and many more things,

And give our father.

While you keep asking for Rs. 100 every time,

To buy these few things.

The son replied, "Father, I too can go to the mall, and get the same things for Rs 10."

"But now there are too many CCTVs there!"

The prices have risen, inflation has set it.

Times have changed,

So you have to move from Rs. 10 to Rs. 100.

Similarly, due to changes in place and time,

As people's sentiments change,

Then whatever the society needs at that particular time,

Whatever methods they need,

Just yesterday, Sachinbhai mentioned that,

He could not understand anything in Pratikraman,

But one day he visited the Shrimad Rajchandra Temple at Ghatkopar,

Where the Pratikraman was conducted in Gujarati,

And he said, "I cried".

So, the pratikraman has remained,

But when its expression changed,

It touched the heart.

Why do I say that Param Krupalu Dev's Vachanamrut is unprecedented?

It is in simple Gujarati.

In a language understood by the people, it offers the knowledge of the Absolute.

It is not in Sanskrit, not in Prakrit.

Because in our commonly spoken language,

When knowledge of the Absolute is presented,

Then one can experience it deeply.

One can go deep within.

If one does not understand the meaning of something,

It does not allow a depth of feelings.

But you should insist on having the original verses, shouldn't you?

In Sanskrit? In Prakrit?

On the day of samvatsari, at least one verse should be recited,

"Khamemi Savve Jeeva", at least this should be recited in Prakrit.

Because all the impact is in Sanskrit and Prakrit.

This is wrong.

Sanskrit and Prakrit are names of safes.

I want to raise just one question that,

What is more important - the safe or the wealth contained within?

This is my question. I don't need claps, I need an answer.

If the wealth is important, then let the safe be changed.

You need to check whether the wealth is present or not.

At that time, Sanskrit and Prakrit were the common languages .

So the wealth was placed in them.

They were placed in that safe.

It is now in Gujarati and just today,

Is it going to happen today?

Vachanamrut in English?

100 letters translated into English,

A book will be launched today by Viveksagar Swami.

Now, do not insist on Gujarati.

The only thing you need to check is whether,

The safe contains the wealth or not.

Does it have the feelings or not?

Does it have the enjoyment or not?

Languages are just safes.

Which will change depending on place and time.

In a few years, if it is translated into Spanish,

Then do not become anxious and say,

The enjoyment we used to get in Gujarati!

You may be enjoying it,

But your son enjoys it only if it is in English.

Do you want to give him something that touches his heart?

Or do you want to give him your insistence?

So the first strength of this sacred text,

Is that it is in simple Gujarati,

That is spoken amongst common people.

Moreover, complex concepts have been presented in a simple way.

This is the next miraculous quality of this sacred text - of Vachanamrut.

Profound concepts presented in a simple manner.

It has profound wisdom.

It does not have information for entertainment.

Instead of offering a programme of devotional music yesterday,

You could have offered folk music of Gujarat.

You could have called a Gadhvi (Gujarati folk singer)

Who would have provided laughter in between,

And provided entertainment.

Not just for two hours,

You could have sat for another four hours.

This does not have any entertainment.

But yes, it provides guidance;

It guides you through life.

It only speaks of your life's purpose.

It speaks of the path.

There is no entertainment. It is not like a novel.

Moreover, it contains profound wisdom presented in a simple manner.

Profound knowledge of the Fundamental Truth.

In a very easy way.

Father Valles was once invited to give a discourse, on 31st December.

He accepted the invitation.

Whoever was the equivalent of Maulikji (Secretary) in that organisation,

He asked, "What would you like as the topic?"

The discourse was on the evening of 31st December.

So, he suggested the title of the discourse as, "Farewell and Welcome".

Simple.

Farewell to this year and welcome to the next year.

Farewell and Welcome.

Father Valles gave this topic.

But the academic person in that organisation felt it sounded too simple.

It was not catchy enough.

So, he changed it to, "Adieu and Salutation."

Did anyone understand it?

Did Rahulbhai understand?

"Adieu and Salutation."

You understood it because I had explained it earlier.

Otherwise, you would not have understood.

The discourse was over, everything ended.

After a few days, the academic wrote a personal letter to Father Valles.

It said, 'You are originally from Spain.'

'Then you came to Chennai, then to Ahmedabad.'

'You learnt Gujarati, and wrote many books in Gujarati.'

'I was born in Gujarat. My mother tongue is Gujarati.'

'I write so many books, but the youth, prefer to read books written by you,'

'But why not mine?'

Father Valles sent a short reply.

'It is a difference of style. If I can find a simple word, I won't use a difficult word.'

'Whereas, as long as you can find a difficult word, you do not use a simple word.'

Did you understand?

It touches your heart only when, the words that are used in common speech,

The same are used in discourses.

Then, they touch your heart more.

The impact should not be of the words, but

In the feelings contained in them.

We get a glimpse of this style in Vachanamrut.

Simple. Profound wisdom but simple expression.

I follow that same style.

Many say, "You conveyed profound concepts very simply through an example."

In easy words.

I have learnt this from my Guru.

That the content must be of a high level,

But the words need to be simple.

The first miraculous thing is that,

It is in Gujarati, a language we understand,

Although, I am looking at so many people here,

Who are not fluent in Gujarati.

So, English is coming this evening.

Secondly, profound wisdom but simple words.

In an easy manner.

The third miraculous thing is that,

It is brief but complete.

Read the letters, how short they are!

Yet, once you read it, reflect on it,

You think, what more can there be in the next letter?

Everything has already been covered.

Not only does a writer need to have a rich vocabulary,

But also needs to have control over words.

He should have the talent of expressing the message in short.

This we can see here.

So short and still complete.

Life size, locket size, giant size.

The one we saw yesterday was the giant size.

But, locket size.

The entire path of the liberated souls in brief.

The entire path in 142 couplets.

I am saying couplets, today I will not call it verses.

Because they are couplets.

If someone says couplets, immediately, one feels, I will read them and memorise them.

But if it is called a scripture, then one reacts,

"What! I have to memorise the entire scripture?"

"Do I have to memorise the entire sacred text?"

So, it is presented in the form of poetry,

But its nature is that of a scripture.

This is also very profound.

And with all of this,

It is such an interesting presentation.

Otherwise, matters of the Fundamental Truths,

Seem so dry, so uninteresting.

Instead, as she said earlier,

It is like the sugarcane, like dates, like honey.

As soon as the time came for the Lord to write Shri Atmasiddhi Shastra,

Most of all, this story is never mentioned,

Ambalal was instructed to hold the lantern,

Writing on the paper, all this is mentioned.

But another invisible incident also occurred.

Honey came running and said, "I offer my sweetness to You."

Nectar came, "I fear the thieves and, for my safety, I have come to You for refuge."

Nectar offers itself.

This is why it is not called 'words'.

It is called 'Words of nectar' - Vachanamrut.

It provides direction.

It reveals the secrets of the Jain Canons.

The power to direct one's consciousness towards the Soul,

Is present in this sacred text,

For this reason, the name Vachanamrut, is appropriate.

Those wishing their welfare,

Those who want to attain welfare of the Soul,

It can be consecrated in your heart,

Such is this sacred text.

It stays at the tip of one's tongue constantly,

One remembers it constantly,

Through which, connection with the Self is attained.

Such is the power of this sacred text.

Therefore, over and over again,

By studying it deeply,

By entering its innermost depth,

And to experience the Self,

This is our foremost duty.

With every successive reading,

When I first started reading it,

The first time I read it was in 1984.

Before that, a group had already been formed.

A group of 100-200 people existed before that.

In 1984, when I read Vachanamrut for the first time,

After that, every year,

Along with the study of all other scriptures,

Vachanmrut was always there.

Until 2009, it was every year.

And during the day, there were many occasions, of referring to it.

Here I am referring to a sequential study.

It is my experience,

During every successive reading,

It always appeared new.

It was always novel.

I would wonder if I had skipped it the last time.

Firstly, it always seemed new.

The other was, that more and more sweetness emerged from it.

This is my experience.

So, by studying it continuously,

May our efforts be such that it is woven in our vision,

Because, for aspirants,

For those yearning for the welfare of the Soul,

This is a priceless gift from Param Krupalu Dev.

Although it is the birthday of the Lord,

And we should be the ones offering a gift,

Instead, on His birthday,

We are the ones receiving the gift of Vachanamrut.

As if the Lord is saying,

Please read this, reflect on it,

Lay the foundation of the house of liberation,

And then by continuously contemplating over it,

Build the entire house of liberation,

And finally, place the crown of omniscience at its peak,

That, and only that, is the fruit of the study of Vachanamrut,

And the fruit of this 3-day grand celebration.

Om.

Tome Topple TBR - Duration: 7:22.

hi :) My name is Pene, welcome to my channel. Today I'm gonna talk about the

books that I'm planning to read for the Tome Topple. So the Tome Topple is a

read-a-thon, they kind of do it every season I think? This one goes from the 17th of

November until the 27th and the goal of the read-a-thon is really to read big

books. Books that more than 500 pages. So I shuffled my November TBR a little

bit to make this work. I already had some out

well. I've just left them till the end of the month.

So let's talk about the books! I pretty much just added like all the big books

that I was planning to read in the near future onto the list and I am not really

sure why I have so many and how I'm going to match them to the challenges

but these are the big books that I want to read. Alright, so the first one is The

Chemist by Stephenie Meyer. I got this out of the library and I have in fact

had to renew it because I've had it for too long but luckily, perhap weirdly and I'm

freaking out because there's a bee flying around my house. Bees often come

into my house and die for some reason. I don't know why. I have let so many of

them out the window but they insist, they insist on coming in and dying and

that one is just hanging out. I think he's okay. I'm not actually sure if he's

a bee, I think he's a wasp. I like wasps a lot less than bees. I don't tend to save

wasps. I save bees. Anyway.. The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer - so I don't really

know much about this except there it's Stephenie Myers' attempt at an adult

thriller I believe so I will be reading that. I definitely have to read it cause it's due

back at the library and I don't think I can renew it again. So this book, let's see how long

it is? So this book is 518 pages so it should be a good one. One of the

challenges is to read an adult books so I guess I will count this towards that one.

Okay so the next book in my pile is a little bit cheating

because it is the fourth book from the Thirst series which I still in my head

think of as the Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike. This book is in fact

only 496 pages but come on - come on! - it's close enough right?

So I'm gonna count it. It's also kind of a series, so one of the challenges to

read a book that's part of a series so I could count it towards that. It also, for

my personal goals, there's only five books in this series so it puts me one

book closer towards finishing off this series. Then the next book that I'm hoping

to read is for the challenge to read a graphic novel but it's also something I

was planning to get to this month or possibly next month but I'll try and

bump it up, and that is Buffy Season 10. So for those of you who don't know Buffy

Season 7 was the last television season but after that they continued to

release seasons in comic book form and you can get bind ups of comic books and

I do own the first... this is one of the volumes from season 8. They're quite

massive but of course for graphic novels you can get through them a lot

faster. I don't own season 10 but I am... I'm planning to get it from the

library although I haven't actually checked that the library has it. I'm just

assuming they do because they had the previous season. If they don't I'm gonna

be kind of annoyed. But yeah, that's my plan is to read Buffy Season 10. I

read Buffy Season 9 for the last Tome Topple and I thought it was really good

to read it all in one go so I kind of... glad to have the motivation to do that

again. So like really to be honest that's enough for me to read in two weeks...

however I have also... I went on a really long bus trip the other week and I tried

my first audio book which was pretty exciting like I've read nonfiction

audiobooks before but I've never read fiction audiobooks and I decided to

start with a book that I had already read

before so I could kind of decide what the differences in the experience were

and I went with Name in the Wind. So I'm pretty close to finishing

Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss if you don't know.

if you don't know you should read Name of the Wind! I also have

the audiobook for the next book which I have here in physical form as well which

is The Wise Man's Fear. This book is mammoth. The audiobook is like 48 hours, which is

ridiculous but even though it's ridiculous I still kind of like the idea

of trying to read that during the Tome Topple as well but via audiobook. I

don't know if 48 hours of audiobook is feasible in any way or form but I have

found audiobooks, even though... and I'll talk maybe more about this when I wrap

up the Name of the Wind, but there are definitely some things about audiobooks

that annoy me, however it is quite good to be able to get through a story while

you do your housework or while you do some exercise or anything like that so

it's possible that I might be able to read or listen to Wise Man's Fear while

I'm doing other stuff. It is a little bit silly because a long... the reason why I'm

reading it is I bought it a long time ago because I thought well it would be a

good way to kind of prepare for when Doors of Stone, the third book in this

series comes out because I didn't want to have forgotten everything but it's

looking pretty likely that Doors of Stone won't be out until 2020 so

preparing here in 2017 is a little bit silly because I would have forgotten

again by the time the Doors of Stone comes out but whatever, I do love the

story so I'm probably just gonna keep going and who knows maybe a miracle will

happen and we'll get Doors of Stone for Christmas or something

and I'll be ready. So that is a ridiculous amount of tomes, so I will

definitely cover one of the other challenges which is to read more than

one tome. I think I can definitely do that unless who knows maybe my end of November

will not go so well but I think we should be good. And the only other challenge that I

don't really have covered is the buddy read one. I don't really have anyone that

I know of that would be willing to buddy read any of these books with me so if

you're watching this video and you would be interested then and comment down

below, let me know and we can do that :) Otherwise thanks for watching my video

and I will see you next time :)
