Hello friends! I am very happy to be here, at Airguns of Arizona, with my great friend Marcos, from MPLA Airguns. Very happy ... We are ready for the competition.
I really enjoyed meeting someone I had the pleasure to meet 2 years ago, and well, now that we met here, it is a great pleasure to find a person that I personally would not have the opportunity to meet.
Well, Marcos, it's a pleasure to be here with you. I wish you luck on your channel.
Visit (and subscribe) to the channel: MPLA Airguns. And well, here we are, friends, ready for Extreme Benchrest 2017!
Greetings!
Hello friends, we are here with our friend Alvaro Lopez, at Extreme Benchrest 2017.
I'm going to ask some questions to our friend, who I'm sure you'll like very much!
Well, first of all, thank you! And greetings to all friends who follow me. To all friends who practice Shooting in Brazil, and also to all of Latin America and other countries.
But on that occasion, I focus a little more on Brazil and Latin America, because you're from there. And well, I've known you for some time now and we've been talking. So, greetings to all and thank you for your support.
And as always, I answer any question to all of Brazilians. And I'm happy to be here at Extreme Benchrest 2017 and I'm attending this time with my son.
And it is good to have an opportunity to talk to all the friends that I have made over time in this sport that unites many people and makes it possible to make good friends, as on this occasion.
Good, very good!
So... The first question: Why are you going to use the FX Crown instead of using RAW?
Ok ... Both weapons are extremely good. In fact, I've been shooting with RAW a long time, but really, my job is to know new weapons and introduce them to you.
And show and tell in the most accurate way, what the weapon is capable of, and what it is not. Nor is it what I can do. I do not show a gun to show that I shoot well or not. Just what the gun can do.
I was shooting RAW last year, but this time I got the FX Crown with a new barrel. Well, it's a completely new gun.
And my job is to test and see how the performance of each weapon is. It is also not a question of quality. I will not say that RAW is less or more, or vice versa.
The only thing that can be said is that in reality ... I'm going to shoot the event, which starts in approximately 1 hour, using an FX Crown,
Because it is my duty and my job to test these weapons so that I can tell people when they ask me: Alvaro, what do you recommend?
So, I can recommend as close as possible to what people are looking for. It's not a question of quality. Both (FX and RAW) are superb manufacturers.
And they have an impressive quality. And that's the main reason why, on this occasion, I'm using the FX Crown in .30 caliber. Basically, it's because I want to know better this weapon.
I already shot RAW last year, now we're going with the FX Crown. And then, we will see, between these two, what is my opinion and what is your opinion, with the reviews that I do,
With groups, with videos. Because that's why I do, so people know. So, basically, that's the main reason.
And we are very grateful for that.
How nice! How nice! I really like that you can see me say that.
And what did you think of the difference between the Smooth Twist and the Smooth Twist X barrels?
See... So far, I have the FX Crown .30 caliber for about, maybe 1 month, if so. I have it for a little, really, I did not have that much time to test the barrel.
Because where I live in northern Mexico, it's very hot. In the summer, really, and it is "always summer", we are always close to 55°C, which is really a lot for the gun and for me.
So, I really did not have much time to test the barrel, except for the videos you saw, which I posted on Facebook and YouTube.
So, it was the opportunity that I had to be able to shoot with it. If you ask me now, what's the difference, I could say that, as I see it, the most accurate is the ST-X.
But the difference is not much. Like I told you, I did not have much time to test it, but now I'll know because I already know how the performance of the ST barrel is.
Because, in 2013, when I won the competition in the PRO Class, it was with a Smooth Twist barrel, with an FX Bobcat, .30 caliber, which uses the ST barrel. Well, it's an accurate gun.
But really, both are so good, it's hard to see the difference. It's like saying: A Ferrari or a Lamborghini? Both are excellent and will take you the same way.
The thing is more or less with which you feel better. And that's what I'm trying to figure out this time. Soon the weather begins to change, and I will have the opportunity to practice much more.
But what I talked about with the FX people, with the manufacturers directly, is that, yes, the ST-X barrel performs better, and it better accepts certain types of pellets or gives more performance.
So that's the most accurate answer I can give you - I'm just investigating. But from what FX said, the ST-X barrel is a better barrel, because it is totally rifled.
It is a tube, completely twisted, not only at the tip, as was the Smooth Twist, which had about 2 inches of rifling and nothing else. The pellet was fast, but it only had rifling at the end.
In this (ST-X) it is a full rifling, it's complete. It is a thin tube, which goes inside a thicker tube. And it seems to be working well on all calibers, I tried in .25, in .30. And I liked it better the .30.
Is yours .30?
The one I'm using now is .30, but I already had the FX Crown .25. At first, I was going to shoot in .25, but I got a .30, and yes, I liked the caliber .30 for what I'm going to do. So that's it ... that's it.
And now a slightly more personal question. The Alvaro Lopez behind the YouTube channel, which do you prefer, which weapon do you like the most to play, to use?
Because it's one thing to use a gun for competition, or for long range shooting, but it is different with your son, something more personal.
Well, a question that they ask me very often, and somehow it is a difficult question to answer because I have tried so many guns, so many brands.
And personally, I do not have as many guns now as I use to have before because I was a crazy guy who had 30 guns hanging on the wall.
And I've already discovered that the guns standing there do not fire by themselves. They are not used. So, in fact, I do not have so many guns, but just the ones that made me want to have them.
I really liked Vulcan in the .25 caliber. It really made me very happy. And it was Gen.3, not even the new one, and yet, it's a weapon that I consider to be excellent.
We went out a lot to shoot, me and my son, and we used it. Because we like bullpups a lot because I'm more used to a bullpup. And you can say that one of my favorite gun in bullpup is Vulcan.
In a carbine version, I can tell you right now that the gun that makes me happier at the moment is the FX Crown. That's it.
Well, sort of ... because I like a lot of guns, but those are both bullpup and carbine, these would be the two options I'd put on the table.
But there are other very good ones, like Cricket, Taipan - I like it a lot in the .22. But .25, I prefer Vulcan. Because the .25 is a caliber I like a lot.
I can tell you that Vulcan and the FX Crown are the guns I currently enjoy most!
Well, well! I have some friends who will be jumping of happiness that you mentioned Vulcan. Because they love Vulcan.
It's like I said, actually, the Cricket is very good, the FX Bullpups are very good, but by itself, the Vulcan personally, its cocking lever system is central, it is solid, consistency, the regulator.
Basically, everything seems to me like a very good gun, for everything. By the way, it is short, and mainly I speak of Vulcan. The Tactical is good, but I like bullpup more.
So for everyone who bought a Vulcan ... NIIIIICE...!!!
Good! Now, please talk to our viewers...
Well, friends, I would like to speak "Brazilian"... I do not speak Portuguese, but thank you very much for following me, thank you because, for many people like you, the channel is growing.
