I'm Galen Hooks.

I'm a choreographer but for years I was a

professional dancer. I've been a producer

on shows like The Voice and America's Got Talent

I choreographed for artists like

Usher and Camila Cabello, and I danced for

over 60 artists including Britney Spears

and Janet Jackson. About a year ago

I started a training experience called

THE GALEN HOOKS METHOD.

I basically take anyone whether you're

14 or 40 years old, man or woman, all skill levels

All backgrounds, all shapes and sizes,

and help you figure out who you are as a dancer.

THE GALEN HOOKS METHOD is about

So much more than just drilling a routine

It's literally about changing your entire perception of how and why you dance.

There are only 15 people in these sessions

as opposed to the 100 or 150 people that might be in my regular master classes

So I'm able to work one-on-one with each student

almost giving them like a prescription for what they

need to do, specifically for themselves.

Nothing like this existed when I was training and nothing like it exists today.

Over 800 people have attended so far

They've traveled from everywhere from Poland, Argentina, Singapore, Australia.

and for 2018 I'm adding a new session called

A TASTE OF TGHM

and that is for a few different types of people. So either

"A" you are on the fence about signing up

which I totally get because the 15-person sessions can be intimidating

So let's say you want a less intimidating environment

with more people or you want a cheaper option

Or you're unsure of your skill level

or you're really just curious what this is all about

and how you could possibly learn so much which

I don't blame you for or

You're person "B"- you have been courageous enough to

attend the full GHM experience

and you just want a refresher course.

so the TASTE OF TGHM is exactly what it sounds like

it's just a taste- it's 1 day, 4 hours, & up to 60 people

If you feel nervous, if you want a cheaper option,

if you want to bring a friend, this is exactly the session for you.

It's for all levels (and I mean all levels) it's for men and women, heels are optional

And I'm not teaching a routine. We spend the entire time on really important

concepts that change you as a dancer that then

you can carry into when you take class

and for the rest of your dance life.

App Lab - Images and Sounds - Duration: 1:46.

Next you'll learn about adding images and sounds to your app.

Let's start by checking out the sound options.

In the tool box you'll find a new block called "playSound".

Drag it into the workspace.

You can pick a sound to play by clicking

the drop-down then clicking "Choose".

>From here you can either upload a sound file from your computer,

or search for a sound from the sound library.

The sound library has lots of different categories

like instruments, background music or animals.

Once you've got the sound you want, click "Choose".

When this block runs, it will play the sound you chose.

To add images to your elements you can just use the setProperty block.

Select the image property in the second drop-down

Then select "Choose" from the third drop down.

>From here you can upload an image from your computer

or you can look through a huge library of icons in the icon library.

Back in code mode you can use the setProperty block to change the icon color of your icon.

Once you've picked what image your icon to use click "Run" to see how it looks.

That's all there is to it!

Now you can start adding images and sounds to make your apps even more fun and dynamic.

App Lab - Design Mode - Duration: 1:56.

To build your own apps you're going to need to start designing screens and elements from scratch.

App Lab makes this easy to do with Design Mode.

Use the switch on top of your app to go into design mode.

You can add new elements by dragging them onto the screen.

You can move them around to different locations

and change their size by dragging the bottom right corner.

To change an element's properties use the controls on the right.

For example, it's really easy to change this button's text,

color,

and font size.

When you add a new element to your screen it'll get a generic ID like button1.

It's a good idea to change this button's ID to something more meaningful like "rightButton".

So that you'll know which one it is when you go to the program.

If you add an element to your app by mistake,

just drag it out or hit the delete.

You can add entirely new screens to your app

by dragging in a screen element

>From the drop-down at the top you can quickly

switch back and forth between the screens you create.

Inside your app, you'll need a way to switch between all of these screens

so the setScreen block has been added to the toolbox.

Use "setScreen" inside the "onEvent" block

to change screens at the click of a button.

In the next few levels you'll be working on a single project.

First you'll add a button then you'll add a new screen

and finally you'll write code so that the button switches to the new screen.

Had never fallen so hard for someone so quick and we basically were inseparable we were together all of the time I would be always

At his house staying there. He live with his parents at the time. It was fine

He was younger who's going to college and all that kind of stuff didn't care and the mom got to talking to me about how?

She used to have a Yorkie

And how she really missed her cuz she passed away from

I think the dog had some form of cancer or something and just ended up passing away

So I would take my Yorkie over there all the time that would be like oh

I'm going to New York for a few days

Do you want to hold on to her for me because I know how much you miss yours and I'm literally gonna be back in

Two days you can watch her because I'm probably gonna be coming back over here anyways

And I will get my dog then - what. She said was completely

Fine well that happened a bunch of times my dog was not there 24/7 my dog was not there every day of the damn year

She was back and forth to my house and all that kind of stuff some there's a ticket to New York sometimes

I would leave her in Florida at 3rd place at my mom's place and everything was fine

Well this one fucking time that I went to New York

I was in New York for two days doing a shoot getting ready to fly back to Florida

A few days after cuz I was gonna stay and like see my agent and spend a lot of time going to meetings and all

That kind of stuff and my ex and I just like there was a blow-up

We broke up, and I mess his mom and I said you know I'm gonna be coming back to Florida

I want to come get my dog, and I need to get my other stuff. That's there as well is that okay, Baba?

She messaged me fucking back you guys

She messaged me back and said something along the lines of what actually your dog has been here more than this required amount of days

And I guess there's like something like if your dog is there for six months or whatever

Then something actually belongs to the person whose house

That's in

Which is not the case because this is not like my dog was just there by herself for the six months and definitely was not

There without my supervision for the six months so therefore you don't get to have my fucking dog

That law does not work

And I want to say this his father was one of the police officers that he was a hire a police officer in the town

They lived in in Florida, so they had fucking

Fucking eyes and ears on me at all fucking time when it came to this fucking matter. I just want to point that out I

Was on the phone with her and I said well, I'm coming to get my dog. You don't give me my dog

I am going to go to the police, and I'm going to sue your ass

And I will get my fucking dog back at the end of the day

I will get my fucking dog back don't even sit there and try to pretend like you're gonna be able to keep my dog for

The rest of her life because it's not gonna fucking happen she hung up on me

Didn't answer any of my fucking calls or anything so I fly back early to fucking, Florida

Get in my car with my friend and go over to their house and say I want my dog to it

We don't have your dog

where's your dog your dogs not here totally playing stupid like your dogs like here, but I was like you have a glass door the

Door to your house is fucking glass and I can see my dog

Looking at me and fucking barking

Give me my fucking dog didn't wanna give my dog went to the police police officers came back to the house with me

And they're like we don't have this dog even the cop is like man. We can see his dog right there

You're not allowed to enter the house and get the dogs not my house, but it is my dog so therefore

They're like you know just file with the paperwork at the police

and then you're going to basically have to go to court and get this dog back because this is bullshit like the sister and the

Ex were yelling at me on like their deck and all that like screaming obscenities and all that kind of stuff, and I'm like

This is fucking so dumb. You know I'm just gonna fucking honestly go to court about this because

Why am I wasting my time and breath on you fucking people cuz you're obviously fucking idiots

And this is obviously just being held against me because I broke up with your fucking son

Why are you so involved in our fucking relationship that you're trying to steal my dog

Bitch why I'm literally always happy to go back and forth from Orlando to where these fucking people lived

To where these fucking people lived and go to the police file new information and it got really fucking nasty

Bitch because if you think that I'm gonna allow you to slander my fucking name Oh Paige

I really miss my dog and put them on every fucking tree in this downtown. I did not escape a fucking trip

I almost got mugged when I paid give these people a great ago, and this girl comes over to like the gas pump

I'll be right there got right in my car and sped the fuck off bitch. Do you think I'm stupid?

I'm gonna go be someone's pilot. Oh you wanted to talk to me. Hi

No, bitch, we go to court in the courtroom. I showed up with my entire fucking family mom father grandmother grandpa uncle

My friend Kim was saying there next to me

And we have to sit across the table this judge was a fucking dick wait

Just a dick like because and you know I understand why he was being a dick with

You know we're there because you stole my dog you stole my fucking dog

It's not like we're there because somebody beat someone which by the way in the midst of this

In the midst of this whole fucking thing

I'm out at a club with my friend Kim

and

He is there with his sister and some friends the sister walks up and punches me in the fucking face

And then they left the club because I like I'll bet you're gonna punch me the baseline pressing charges now

You're not helping your case because you stole my fucking dog quick so pressed charges against her whatever

We also have to go to court. I'm sitting there, and I shit you guys not I

The mother pulls out the flyer my friend Kim's fingernails went in to my leg because she knew that I was about to be like

They stole my dog

What do you want me to say yes?

I put fires my dog is missing because these people fucking stole it like the judge was just an asshole and again

I get it because we're there because someone stole a dog

It's like we're not there because something horrible is happening in his world. Give me my dog

We didn't steal his dog. We were looking after the dog for him

They never once said that they stole my dog. They bought the paperwork for the dog whose name is Hermes

So now I have to leave the courtroom after winning. They drive by like flicking me off

I have my mom in my BMW with the roof down

Stacy: Ok guys, I am back from the Minecraft offices, and I think I know how to solve the

problem I'm having in my game.

I think I can use a function.

Let me just open this.

So a function is a specific set of instructions to accomplish a certain task, kind of like

a recipe.

In the next few levels, you'll have access to functions that you can use to solve the

puzzles.

Look at the code in the function when it's in the workspace to see what it does.

Then, find the block with that name in the toolbox and drag it from the toolbox to the

"when run" block.

Remember, you can use the same function every time you need to run the same set of instructions

to do something, like build a bridge.

App Lab - Make It Interactive - Duration: 2:17.

Apps are really cool because it's kind of like starting your own business

I mean, you get to design everything from the ground up,

you get to manage everything,

and you're the owner of this piece of work that you just created with code.

Now that you can change the look of your app let's make it interactive by responding to events!

Events are user actions like clicking a button, scrolling through a menu, or hovering over a picture.

Interactive apps need ways to respond to events.

Like playing a sound when I click this button.

To do this in App Lab you need to use

a new block called onEvent.

This program sets the screen to blue.

I want the screen to turn green when I click this button.

First I'll need to drag in an onEvent block.

By hovering I know the button's ID is "bigButton"

so I'll select that in the first drop-down.

Next I'll choose the type of event.

There's lots of options you can pick from but right now I'll leave it as a regular old click.

Finally I'll add code inside the on event that will change the background color of the screen.

You can read this block like a sentence:

"On the event that the button is clicked run all this code."

Let's test it.

Blocks outside an onEvent still run right away so the screen starts blue.

And when I click the big button

the code inside my onEvent runs and my screen turns green.

If you want to change more things after the event, like the text on the screen

just add more code to the onEvent

To make your program respond to more events add more onEvent blocks.

Just make sure not to put them inside of each other.

Now it's time to try it out for yourself.

App Lab - Getting Started - Duration: 2:48.

My name is Mei'lani. I'm an intern at code.org and I'm also a computer science student.

I like computer science because it's really creative.

I get to be the problem solver.

I get to make everything function how I want it to.

But I also get to be the designer. I get to be the artist and choose everything on the creative side of it.

Making your own apps is easy with App Lab!

Whether you're new to coding or have some experience

App Lab Apple is a great tool for building new apps and sharing them with your friends.

This is a App Lab. On the left side is your app.

On the right side is the code that will make it run.

You build your program by dragging in blocks from the toolbox.

To start you'll just have one block called "setProperty".

The set property block changes the look of the elements on your screen.

Like the buttons, labels, or even the screen itself.

First you need to decide which element you want to change.

If you hover over an element in your app you can see the name or ID here.

Then go select that ID from the first drop down.

Elements have lots of properties you can change like their text color,

background color or font size.

You can see the full list and choose which property you want to change in the second drop down.

The last drop down is where you'll write the value you want to use value you want to use.

The block will make a suggestion for you.

But you can always type in different colors or numbers yourself.

Once you're done, the block reads a bit like a sentence:

"Set button1's background color to green."

Hit run to see the changes you're building in code.

If you reset you can drag in more blocks to change other things about your app.

Like the text!

For this tutorial we'll be working in block mode but App Lab also supports working in text.

Either way you'll be programming in JavaScript, the language of the web.

Each level has a goal, instructions and an image of what you're aiming to create.

If you're ever stuck click on this picture

and it will show you exactly how to complete the level

But see if you can do it on your own first.

Once you've completed the goal for this level click finish to move on.

That's all there is to it!

It is �time� for us to �TAKE FLIGHT� in our new �BIRTHING� as we are �GIFTED�

Many have been feeling like in an �isolation� bubble within ourselves and close relationships.

This is our Personal Divine Space..where �we have an opportunity to turn our mirror around

and face ourselves FULLY, with something that we need to fill with ourselves or face ourselves

with�.

As many are now feeling a reflection of their INNER SELF in a way, that �was not possible�

before energetically (not like this)�of not having any one else�s energies in their

space, so there is no-one to reflect energies with � THEY ARE FACING THEIR HIDDEN TRUE

INNER FEARS AND INSECURITIES of what they were feeling or needing through others!

Like searching all corners of a room AND now no-one else is in this room (or their energy)

AND due to this, we are able to finally �clean out� those corners that we �did not see

(feel fully) before.

Feeling the dark corners, the bits left over that there was no light on them before and

one could not see them�well, all corners have been illuminated with these souls and

now they are finally able to face and feel those little bits of different sides or corners

that were in the �shadows�.

It has been an extreme �time� with many facing life or death situations.

Many are �dealing with� past family �issues/trauma� and �facing themselves�, which a lot has

been suppressed through emotions within their physical bodies

We have been �going through the gauntlet of our previous lives and shadow sides�The

Divine Masculine healing (the masculine earth star was very damaged) and Gaia�s Divine

Feminine Heartbeat -a New Divine Heart beat/energy has commenced.

As this has ALSO BEEN GENERATIONAL, remember this�also, many are transmuting for not

only themselves, due to this.

This is a �process� of many layers and levels, generational, masculine and feminine

and facing ourselves in our own mirror�s.

*Due to each souls unique experiences many are at different �stages� or �phases�

of this for themselves.

Yet, the New Earth, New Divine Heart Energy HAS COME THROUGH*

AND NOW�

We are learning to balance while being within our own *new* personal �isolation bubble�

and the outer world � BE-ing with others.

And the �way through� is through a New Divine Heart Energy.

As we �Enter a New Phase� of a New Divine Heart Energy and our �seeds we have sown�

now starting to sprout, �It�s time to come out of seclusion.

You no longer need to hide or try to protect yourself from the world around you�.

As we are entering/going through a NEW BIRTHING�this is �different� to a re-birth (which many

have written about).

Many have now �come through� this for themselves while others are still feeling

their way �through� what ever they are needing to, for themselves.

THIS IS SO WORTH IT when one �comes through� this for themselves.

Of �reaching a New Divine Heart Energy � of a New Birthing or ourselves (not a re-birth,

there IS a difference).

Of letting go and surrendering SO MUCH and especially ourselves of the head wanting to

control and �pushing� for control with ones �logic� or spiritual knowledge alone!

This WILL NO LONGER SUFFICE!.

We have reached a �point� that those who are not feeling deep within, are �struggling�

to �hang onto old ways of coping� and finding, they are reaching a �dead-end�.

Hence, many finding themselves in a �life or death� situation.

They have �no where else to turn� now but to turn WITHIN.

So while there are many who are feeling this �break-through� for a New Birthing, �at-the-same-time�

No truer words for these �times�.

As it is �time� for us to �TAKE FLIGHT� in our new BIRTHING as we are GIFTED.

�It is �time� to �trust yourself�, because you are doubting yourself; questioning

who you are as a person or whether you have anything of value to give.

Your unique gifts are very needed here on the planet.

Spirit is asking that you place your doubts aside and start to cultivate self-worth and

personal value.

You were given certain gifts, because only you can bring them to the world in the way

you do�.

TAKE FLIGHT

It�s time to come out of seclusion.

You no longer need to hide or try to protect yourself from the world around you.

You are moving into a new stage of your life where stepping out is important for your emotional,

mental and spiritual growth.

It�s time to start making new friends and social connections.

You may find yourself join groups, take classes, or engage in social activities.

Just as the butterfly is drawn to a flower�s nectar, you will find that getting out into

the world and being with others, will be a source of soul food for you.

Through these interactions with people and groups, you will start to feel more confident

in yourself.

You will see and feel yourself blossoming in a very natural and comfortable way.

The energy of the butterfly is gently, joyful, and purposeful.

You will directly experience this energy and exude it, as you move out into your social

surroundings.

Not only is this an important part of developing self-esteem and a sense of belonging; it is

When we are in the process of creating something new in our life, we are actually calling on

our Divine Force, and mastering our gift as creators, to bring something new into this

world.

Trust yourself in all that you are doing at this moment.

Your instinct and intuition will guide you.

The goals, projects, or ideas you are working on are important in the cosmic plan.

There are many higher energies working with you, and through you, to help you complete

what you are working towards.

Remember though, the process of giving birth involves going through labour.

You may be feeling a lot of pressure at the moment.

But discomfort during labour is natural.

Don�t give in, or lose hope because of it.

You are doing the right thing.

Don�t let small disappointments or upsets lead you to thinking you are not on the right

track.

You are.

Pain is just a natural part of labour.

You may also be feeling the urge to push, even though it is not time to.

Do not allow your impatience to get the best of you.

This card is a reminder that you are most certainly talented, gifted, and skilled in

a very special way.

It�s time to stop looking outside and comparing yourself to others.

Your gifts were never intended to function or work exactly the same as another person�s

gift.

sending energy out to the Universe which says you are �less� than.

This action is the very thing that is blocking your gifts from developing to their fullest

EPISODE 03 - THE ABETENIM´S CHILDREN - CONSTRUCTION OF A SCHOOL IN GHANA - Duration: 6:24.

Good morning, It is 7 am

I woke up at 5:30 am as usual

Today is going to be a fun day

today we start the outline of the building

Basically, drawing the building outline on the site ground

I have everything here

We have to measure the site elevation

To know how we are going to solve it

If it is too much, we have to do one thing or another

An the other things

It will start the fan part which is digging

with pick and shovel

We will dig out the earth for the foundation

About 60 cm deep (2 feet)

So later we can do the foundation

Put the end of the measure tape, at the end

Well..It is 10 am

It took us 3 hours to trace the layout on the ground

And prepare everything so we can start digging

Someone showed up at the site

that person was the mason

He showed up without us/me asking for it

If I would have asked for him, I would have to pay for his time

I began tracing the outline of the building

I made everything well and all the corners were squared

Because he (the mason) began helping other projects in the past

He wanted to help

He started using his technique and redrawing everything

and he screwed up

All the measurements were wrong and there was no right angle

So I had to take control

And with the help of my volunteers (Francesca, Miguel and Marisa)

To trace everything again

Place everything in the right place

We placed all the stacks on the right place

I showed you how we used the stacks and strings

Now I am coming back

to see If I can find shovels and pick

so we can start digging

hey everybody Jennifer here with the Sewing Report and I have been tagged to

do this thing called five questions one take which means you answer five

questions and there's no editing well we'll see how this goes

so this tag was started by Lisa of the channel and so on and I was tagged by my

friend Akram's ideas so let's get into it okay the five questions if you were

given a paid sabbatical to spend a year living anywhere in the world where would

it be and why well my answer is right here because that's where I make youtube

videos all right - who was your favorite teacher growing up and how did they

influence you I don't know if I had a favorite teacher but there are two

teachers that are very memorable to me both of them were business teachers and

both of them are in high school so the first teacher was mrs. Duke Quinn

she taught some business classes and she also taught keyboarding which in 2017

speak means typing so we learned on these typewriters and we had to take

typing tests and she would have us put a sheet of paper over the keyboard so that

we couldn't see but thanks to mrs. Duquin I'm a very fast typer now and

I can type without looking down so I didn't realize that class was going to

have such an enormous impact on my everyday life but it really does so mrs.

Duke Quinn if you're out there thank you the other teacher that I fondly remember

and for different reasons I his name was mr. O'Keefe he I'm trying to remember

what class I took with him I don't remember but he taught us some very

practical life lessons like he would tell all the guys only to get their

girlfriend a cubic zirconia ring if they were going to be proposing because if

she got it appraised it means you can't trust her and if you don't get it

appraised if good so things like that he also would tell people to get like a

wedding dress with Velcro in the back so you can like easily fit into it at your

next wedding he had an interesting sense of humor and he also I think said for

the cz rings that instead of getting like an actual cubic zirconia ring you

should get like a pair of stud earrings from Kmart and have those stones put

into setting so he was a funny guy and I will

never forget those things all right question 3 name three things besides

sewing that's you're good at that I'm good at I would say I like talking so

there's one thing I don't know if that's a talent or not I and I really like

making videos it's something that I do professionally and personally so it's

something that I enjoy and I do feel like I'm somewhat good at it other

things that I'm good at I like budgeting and doing anything

involving personal finance I'm a really big fan I like Dave Ramsey I used to

watch the Suze Orman show so I guess that's something that I really enjoy

doing I like doing my taxes so guess that's something I'm good at

I don't know for do you cook what meal recipe are you most known for if you

don't cook what meal slash recipe do you most like to have made for you all right

so this is kind of a tricky question because I'm married to a chef so my

husband James is he's the primary I think cooking the family but he actually

taught me how to cook so now I can do it relatively well I would say like

remedial at best I'm definitely not at a professional level but I can at least

make something without burning it and I've gotten pretty okay at certain

dishes my go-to is um like my go-to easy dish is just to cook pasta and then get

some nice sauce and put some cheese in it that's really easy quick you can add

some heavy cream if you are looking for a little more richness and I've recently

gotten more into Korean cooking I am Korean but I was raised by white people

so I really don't have that like cultural upbringing but I've been trying

to learn I know that's it's late but better late than never

alright one is sewing question what is your favorite pattern ever and why you

know I that's a really hard question probably one of the patterns that I've

made the most is gray line studios Linda and sweatshirt it's something that it's

very easy it's very beginner friendly and it's kind

of stress-free yeah so but I don't know if it would I don't know if it's my

favor but that's the pattern that I probably made the most of that's

probably one of my favorite indie pattern lines though is grade line

studio for for clothing I would say for bags I really like swoon patterns and so

sweetness I think they're both really fought they both have a lot of fun

designs and that's how it actually really helped me grow my sewing skills

alright so that is my five questions one take it's gonna be hard not to edit and

I also like even thinking about this I was like you know maybe I'll throw in

some photos or throw in some b-roll over the questions but that would mean

editing and it clearly said no editing so I'm not going to do that I also have

Top 10 Dumbest End Of World Predictions

The end of the world. Its a pretty common phrase. You hear it in songs, movies and TV

shows but so far, everyone has been wrong. Otherwise I wouldnt be making this video.

However, some people are a lot more wrong than others, some predictions are just so

strange, you wonder how anyone believed them at all. My name is Danny Burke and this is

the top 10 dumbest end of the world predictions.

At number 10 now were gonna start with one a lot of you guys might remember. 2012. December

21st 2012 was the day that the anicnet Mayan calendar would end and a new one would begin.

Some people took this to mean there would be a spiritual transition for the world - others

thought it would mean the literal end of it. The theories ranged from giant tidal waves

to earthquakes to crust shattering earthquakes. There was also the belief that the Earth was

going to collide with a mysterious Planet or that the magnetic poles would shift. Crazy

stuff but it caught on so much that they even made it into a movie called 2012. Doesnt really

have the same appeal now that we all survived it …

Coming in at number 9 now we have The Prophecy Hen Of Leeds. Back in 1806, in the city of

Leeds in England - a lot of people were convinced the world was gonna end. They thought this

because it was written on the freshly laid eggs of some hens. This is true. People from

all over went to visit Mary Batemen whos hens were said to be laying eggs with the phrase

'Christ is coming' on them. People believed that this was a prophecy of Doomsday, that

Jesus was going to come back and start the end times. Well, 1806 came and went and the

eggs words didnt come true. Thats because Mary Batemen had faked them. She would write

the messages on the eggs and then insert them back into the hens. I don't think the victims

in this were the ones who believed all this - I think its the poor hens ...

Coming in at number 8 we have Y2K. A lot of you guys may be too young to remember this

but in the run up to the New Millennium in 1999 - a lot of people were scared of Y2K.

Experts had pointed that a lot of computers in the world werent programmed to handle the

change in date from 1999 to 2000. Sounds stupid but its true. Some people thought that this

would bring about the digital age before it had even begun - that computer systems all

over the world would break down - that Y2K would cause a virus fatal to every computer

and pretty much send us back to the stone age. In the end, some computers did break

or display the wrong date - but we got past it. Now weve just gotta hope we fix this before

the year 3000. Weve got time.

Next up at number 7 we have Heavens Gate. Now, this one is dumb but its also pretty

sad. See what you guys make of it. In 1997, the hale bopp comet appeared in the night

sky for the first time in thousands of years. A cult sprang up in San Diego who believed

that an alien spacecraft was travelling behind the comet and that they had to get on board

because the Earth was about to be wiped clean. The only way to do that was to leave their

current vessels behind - their bodies. On March 26th 1997, 39 members of the cult drank

poison and died. The leader of the cult was obviously a mentally ill psychopath who made

a dumb prediction - I just feel bad for the people who went along with it.

Next up at number 6 we have The Jupiter Effect. In the mid 1970s, some people believed that

the world was going to end on March 10th 1982. This would be the date when all the planets

would perfectly align on the same side of the sun - even Pluto. They thought the gravitational

effect of this would affect Earth - leading to huge storms as well as Earthquakes and

Volcanoes the like of which we have never seen before … the end of the world. It all

came from a book called The Jupiter Effect - the author of which went on to say he was

sorry he ever had anything to do with it. As you can probably tell from todays date,

the world did not end in 1982.

Moving on to number 5 we have Robert Fitzpatrick. This man belonged to an evangelical group

who believed that the world was going to end on May 21st 2011. They had got this information

from certain bible passages and Robert decided he wanted to share this with everyone. He

spent 140 thousand dollars travelling around America to warn people that on this judgement

day, the Earth would be swalled up by fires, earhquakes and tsunami. Only the -righteous-

would survive by being sucked up into heaven. Robert gained quite a bit of fame in the lead

up to the day and decided to prove everyone wrong by spending the last hour in times square.

Of course, when it didnt happen, he was mercilessly mocked by the crowd around him. He just flicked

through his Bible and kept saying he didnt understand why it didnt happen. This is another

one where I feel kinda sad because this guy obviously had a serious disconnect from reality

...

Coming in at number 4 we have Obama is The Anti Christ. A lot of people really liked

President Obama, some didnt - but I think everyone can agree he was a human. Well, not

everyone. In 2008, when Obama was first elected, a email chain started spreading. It said that

according to the bible -the antichrist will be a man in his 40s of Muslim descent who

will deceive the nations with persuasive language and have a massive christ like appeal! The

prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false home and world peace

and when he is in power he will destroy everything - is it Obama?- … amazingly, a sizeable

amount of people believed this rubbish and actually thought that Obama was the anti christ

who would destroy the world. What a sad thought.

Next up at number 3 we have the Black Rainbow. Jeron Criswell Konig was a a popular American

psychic who died in 1982. Throughout his life, he made a lot strange predictions. He predicted

cannibalism in Pennsylvania and that a great drought would leave New York in ruins. But

perhaps his strangest prediction was the black rainbow. Criswell said that on Wednesday,

August 18th 1999 - every point on Earth will be covered by a black rainbow - the darkest

black you can imagine. The black rainbow will they start sucking the oxygen from our atmosphere

like a huge snake suffocating its prety. For the next few hours, we will all grow weaker

as we cant breath. And then we will -all go silently, gasping for breath and there will

be only silence on the Earth- … lovely stuff. Well, I had my birthday not long after that

and I remember the oxygen levels were fine. Nice cake too.

Moving on to number 2 we have Baba Vanga. This Bulgarian woman who died in 1996 at the

age of 95 had the catchy name of -Nostradamus from the Balkans- … she made a bunch of

different predictions but one in particular stood out - WW3. She even gave the year - 2016.

She said the continent of Europe would be left -almost empty- after being turned into

a nuclear wasteland almost entirely devoid of any form. I mean, with the way the past

few years have been going, a nuclear war hasnt seem quite so crazy as it used to be - hopefully

if youre watching this years from now, things will have calme down a bit. But still, she

said 2016 so she was wrong. Sorry Baba.

And finally at number 1 we have Pat Robertson. He is an American minister who is known for

his Evangelical Christian TV shows. One of his shows was called The 700 Club and in late

1976, he made a doomsday pediction. He said that in October or November 1982, the world

would end. 4 years later he clarified this by saying -I guarantee you by the end of 1982

there is going to be a judgment on the world- … obviously, lke everything else on our

list, he was sorely mistaken. But it wasnt all doom and gloom, in 2011, Robertson and

other people who incorrectly predicted the end of the world were awarded the Ig Nobel

Prize for teaching the world to be careful when making mathematical assumptions and calculations.

Ouch. Bit of a burn there.
