Hi, my name is Timothy and I'm excited to be one of the chaperones to the 18
children who make up Choir 48.
I was in the 19th African Children's Choir.
Today, I would like to share with you the story of one of our children, Rebecca.
Rebecca comes from one of the poorest suburbs around Kampala called Boise.
She lives with her father her brother and her sister.
Her father is unable to provide for them the basic needs of life
and to give them a good quality education.
But, Rebecca loved to study she sometimes we would be able to attend school for a while.
But, then she would be sent home because her father was unable to
continue paying the school fees.
She sometimes would jump through the classroom window
back into class so that she could receive an education and continue studying
So, one day Rebecca told her father that she would pray for
an opportunity where she will be able to study for free without paying.
Her father knew and thought that this was totally impossible,
but Rebecca knelt down on the dirt floor and said a prayer and asked God for an opportunity to study.
Three weeks later Rebecca audition into the African Children's Choir
and today she is excited to be part of choir 48
where she will receive a free education.
