Ylvis- Interview after spring announcement 1 [English subtitles] - Duration: 1:19.

Hi, I am from Kampanje and I wonder when is it natural to sing a song?

Rarely

But in a controlled from, there are maybe places and times where you wouldn't have expected it to begin with

We tried to approach it from a documentary form and that's a bit uncommon

And if that's a good or a bad idea, that remains to be seen

But can you be serious if you sing it? – It's difficult – Yes, you can

If your brother was a song, which song would he be?

If you were a song… I'm just a gigolo

Now we will finish with a little warming-up

Okay, how does that work?

How do we do that?

Just do it like this

AT LEAST 500 GENES ARE TURNED ON AFTER YOU DIE - Duration: 3:22.

AT LEAST 500 GENES ARE TURNED ON AFTER YOU DIE.

Five hundred genes identified which come alive after death.

A team of microbiologists based at the University of Washington headed by Peter Noble have conducted

one of the most extensive studies on the topic of post-mortem life in history and made an

astonishing discovery.

According to Noble, the team has identified five hundred specific genes that become more

active following the physical death of the body, peaking approximately four days after

the person has died.

Scientists have noticed that there are genes that continue to stay active in the human

body for some time after death in previous studies, but these genes have tended to be

triggered by the microorganisms that stay active in dead bodies for a period following

death.

However, this recent study was a little different in that it examined which genes were functioning

in tissues following death.

The subjects of the study were a thousand cadavers of both mice and zebrafish.

WHAT IF EVERY HUMAN EVER BORN CAME BACK TO LIFE TODAY?

Perhaps the most amazing discovery that this experiment has thrown up is that the genes

that continue to function following the physical death of the organism begin to function in

a very similar way to how they would function when the creature was first born.

Most of the genes identified as being active after death are primarily used for emergencies

in the physical body, such as the immune system and those genes required for combatting stress.

However, some of the genes that began to ignite were more surprising to the team.

Noble explains that the developmental genes appear to be switched on the following death

and described this revelation as jaw-dropping.

The genes which begin to fire up after death are normally used to sculpt embryos and are

inactive after the birth of the organism, and therefore their activity in a post-mortem

is deeply unusual.

The researchers have suggested that it is possible that this happens because the cellular

conditions in a fresh corpse are fairly similar to those of embryos.

This peculiar fact has raised some serious questions related to the biology of the body

following death.

In certain religions, such as Tibetan Buddhism, one of the central tenants of the faith is

that the physical body is merely a vessel and that consciousness will remain following

its demise.

This research has suggested that there may be some truth to these

spiritual beliefs.

Why Is There an Opioid Crisis? - Duration: 5:21.

Last week, the opioid epidemic was declared a 'public health emergency' in the United

States — something advocates have been pushing for a while.

Because at this point, experts agree that America is in the middle of an opioid crisis.

According to the CDC, around 90 Americans die from opioid overdoses every day

That's about as many as those who die in car crashes.

There are all kinds of different factors that led to this crisis.

But the main reasons have a lot to do with what these drugs are, how they reduce pain,

and why they're so addictive.

First, some terminology.

You hear people throwing around words like opioids and opiates, not to mention heroin,

oxy, and fentanyl.

But those mean different things.

Opioids are any drug that acts on opioid receptors on your cells.

Opiates are essentially the same, but they're made from the poppy plant.

Yep, the plant that gives us lemon poppy seed muffins also makes opium and morphine.

So opiates are natural, while opioids include both natural and synthetic drugs.

For our purposes, what matters is that they all bind to opioid receptors on cells around

your body, like in your brain and spinal cord.

These receptors come in different shapes, like mu opioid receptors.

And when opioids bind to receptors, it makes it harder for neurons to send along signals

that get interpreted as pain.

This happens in the spinal cord, where peripheral nerve cells pass on incoming signals.

And it happens in the brain, where neurons in a region called the periaqueductal gray

prevent cells from releasing neurotransmitters, which are basically chemical messages.

All this means opioids are really good pain relievers.

And in the 1990s, because of a combination of factors including misrepresented research,

doctors started prescribing more painkillers like oxycodone and hydrocodone to try to treat

pain.

But opioid receptors are also in reward centers of the brain, and binding to cells there can

create euphoria, which is that 'high' feeling.

That's what makes them addictive.

Plus, your body builds tolerance to them pretty quickly, so you need more of the drug to control

the same amount of pain.

You can also become physically dependent, experiencing symptoms of withdrawal if you

stop taking the drug.

Since neurons get used to the opioids, they become more active to compensate for the drug

suppressing signals.

And if it's no longer there, the cells become way more active than normal.

So you can become agitated, anxious, or feel like puking.

Addiction, on the other hand, is a psychological condition where you seek out the drug despite

the damage it does to your life.

While physical dependence is common with addiction, a person doesn't have to be dependent to

become addicted and vice versa.

With the opioid epidemic, it's thought that many people who originally took the drugs

as prescribed started to take more.

In other words, they began abusing them.

And when pills became too expensive or difficult to get, they turned to heroin, an opioid made

from morphine, which was more readily available.

Regardless of the source, the addiction can turn deadly because of the other physiological

effects of opioids.

That's because opioid receptors aren't just in areas of the brain that control pain;

they're also in the parts that control breathing, like the brainstem.

And when they block signaling there, opioids slow down and can even stop breathing.

Doctors call this respiratory depression, and it's usually what kills people who overdose.

Fortunately, we now have some ways to counteract overdoses.

For instance, naloxone can be injected or squirted up someone's nose and, within minutes,

seemingly bring people back from the dead.

It's actually an opioid, too, since it binds to opioid receptors.

But unlike heroin or prescription painkillers, which are agonists, naloxone is an antagonist.

That means that when it binds to a receptor, it doesn't turn on any of the usual effects.

Instead, it acts as a blocker.

Naloxone works so well because it binds to opioid receptors more strongly than the overdosed

drug.

So it can flood your system and prevent the drug from binding.

Problem is, you need to treat someone with naloxone pretty fast.

It doesn't always take long after an overdose for them to stop breathing.

And that's especially true if they've taken one of the stronger synthetic opioids,

like fentanyl.

Fentanyl is a prescription drug that's around 50-100 times stronger than morphine.

Because of its structure, it can cross a protective membrane called the blood-brain barrier more

easily, which means your brain can get flooded with the stuff faster.

Lately, illicit versions of it have been added to heroin and other drugs sold on the street.

And other, fentanyl-like drugs are even more powerful, like carfentanil, which is used

to tranquilize elephants.

Not only do these drugs cause faster overdoses, but they also need more antidotes to counteract

the effects.

So even if the person is given a treatment like naloxone in time, there might not be

enough on hand to save them.

Deaths from overdoses have spiked in recent years, and as the problem has gotten worse,

experts have been trying to figure out how to deal with it.

For the most part, doctors are starting to cut back their prescriptions of opioids, which

should help reduce the number of people who go on to develop addictions.

And researchers are working on finding opioids that can knock out pain without all the dangerous

side effects.

Some groups, for example, are studying drugs that are closer to the opioid peptides our

bodies make, which may bind to receptors in more specific ways.

But in the meantime, there are already a lot of people out there with substance abuse disorders,

and helping them get into treatment is a whole other challenge.

So, there's still a lot of work to do.

NEW PROOF Just Exposed McCain's Ties To Russia And The Instant Payback Will CRUSH His Reputation. - Duration: 2:23.

NEW PROOF Just Exposed McCain's Ties To Russia And The Instant Payback Will CRUSH

His Reputation.

It's no secret, not all politicians are goodhearted human beings.

Many try their best – and fail – to do what's right for the country instead of

themselves.

John McCain may have once believed this way, but now it seems his sole concern is seeking

out new lows.

McCain has now gone beyond bending the law and has begun conspiring with those entrenched

in the Russian scandal.

Furthermore, he's currently going through great pains to protect these criminals and

bury the WHOLE truth.

In a brief filed in federal court late Wednesday, lawyers for Russian tech executive, Aleksej

Gubarev, claim that David Kramer, a former State Department official and longtime associate

of Senator McCain, "has been seemingly avoiding service" of a deposition subpoena for weeks.

Both Kramer and McCain are suspected to have information regarding the Steele Dossier and

the source responsible for leaking it to BuzzFeed.

The Steele Dossier, of course, has already been exposed as falsehood, with President

Trump himself dismissing it as "crap" and a "hoax."

In addition, the dossier has been labeled as a "reckless disregard for the truth,

or falsity of the information published" by the lawyers suing BuzzFeed for its release.

With all that said, is it any wonder why McCain is hiding out?

David Kramer was once a Director for the McCain Institute for International Leadership, and

now he's suspected of espionage.

With a history like McCain's, especially when it comes to President Trump, this is

something we simply cannot ignore.

The fact is, McCain has been untrustworthy regarding Russiasince the beginning.

He recently denied giving the dossier to BuzzFeed, but had previously admitted giving a copy

to Comey during a meeting on Dec. 9 meeting.

These are the kind of lies that corrode our country from within.

McCain continues to prove himself to be a massive thorn in our President's side, as

well as the nation's.

All we can do is pray that this evidence finally ENDS McCain for good.

If you're ready for the REAL truth to come out about Russia – and you want the REAL

criminals to be given REAL justice.

Spiced Apple Fruit Bombs // Healthy Snack // The Gardenettes - Duration: 3:09.

Finding a healthy school snack that the kids will actually eat can be tricky, so

sometimes it's nice to make them yourself so you know what's in there

and I reckon the kids will love these spiced apple fruit bombs. They're nut free

and so simple to make that the kids will be able to help you. You'll need

half a cup of freshly grated apple for this recipe which is about two apples.

Then you want to squeeze the juice out of the pulp straight into a glass which you can

drink later. Then pop the pulp straight into a mixing bowl along

with one and a half cups of desiccated coconut. Now I've got some middle-eastern

inspired flavours going on in this dish... I'm gonna use the zest of one orange.

It can go straight into the mixing bowl - I always find that citrus zest brings so

much flavour to dishes especially things like raw desserts and cakes. Orange zest

will pack a punch of flavour in these fruit bombs. Next for sweetness I'm

adding five medjool dates which are fresh dates that are really soft, you

just need to remove the pip and blitz them up in a food processor until

they're nice and soft. They will give a really nice caramel &

toffee flavour in these fruit bombs. To bring them together I'm

going to use hulled tahini which is just sesame seeds formed into a really

beautiful paste about one and a half tablespoons of tahini it adds little

bit of a savory element to these fruit bombs as well. You find that you use

tahini a lot in the Middle Eastern cooking. Add a dash of ground cinnamon about

a quarter of a teaspoon and of course a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Now this is

where you can get your hands dirty but just make sure they're clean first! And

the kids are going to love helping you mash up and bring together all of these

ingredients.

If the mix is feeling a little bit dry you can use some of the leftover apple

juice or some tahini. And then it should come together pretty well and you'd be

able to squeeze it together to form some rough ball shapes and this is where the

kids would love to help out - about a tablespoon or so of mix and then get

some of that leftover desiccated coconut you just roll the balls in it.

This mix will make around 10 to 15 fruit bombs and they'll keep for the week

ahead so you've got your school snacks sorted!

Corey Feldman Identifies Alleged Abusers - Duration: 2:51.

Corey Feldman is speaking out against child abuse in the entertainment industry — and

he's starting by finally naming one of his own alleged abusers.

On an episode of The Dr. Oz Show that aired on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2017, Corey Feldman revealed

the name of a man he's accused of sexually abusing him as a child: Jon Grissom, an actor

who'd worked alongside Feldman and his late friend Corey Haim in movies like License to

Drive in 1988 and Dream a Little Dream 1989.

"This guy on his myspace page and his facebook page he's got pictures of me and Corey Haim."

Feldman, now 46, had previously referred to Grissom as "Ron Crimson" in his 2013 memoir,

Coreyography, in which he described being molested by the man on more than one occasion.

He wrote: "When I woke up, he was on me, touching me, tugging on the zipper of my pants.

I realized it was happening again."

Feldman, who changed Grissom's name in his book due to legal issues, says the older man

was partly responsible for his substance abuse issues, allegedly pushing him to try drugs

like crack.

With host Dr. Mehmet Oz, Feldman spoke with the Los Angeles Police Department about the

alleged abuse, though the report could not be shared via recording due to confidentiality

protocols.

Although the actor was a teen when the alleged events occurred, Feldman said he felt the

authorities were taking him seriously.

"We take our reports regardless of when the crime occurred."

Feldman said, "They are going to do an interview with me when I get back to Los Angeles...

However, they did give me the warning that based on the statute of limitations, they

can only open an investigation, but they cannot promise that it will be prosecuted."

After the show, Oz released a video on his Facebook page, sharing information about the

alleged abuser.

According to Oz and his legal counsel, Grissom has an extensive arrest record including child

molestation charges, and is allegedly a "fugitive from justice" after failing to register under

Megan's Law and going M.I.A. while on probation.

Police have reportedly been unable to find him since 2014.

Days before his appearance on The Dr. Oz Show, Feldman spoke with Megyn Kelly on the Today

Show and claimed that youth talent manager Marty Weiss was a pedophile, an accusation

he'd previously made in Coreyography.

At that time, Feldman also teased the existence of another alleged abuser, stating that the

man "ran a child's club in Hollywood" and that "he's working for the L.A. Dodgers."

However, he would not describe the man any further until he had legal protection.

"I have tried, time and time again through the years, to get the story out, to get the

point across, to get the names out."

As has been previously reported, Feldman launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for a

feature film that would name several members of an alleged pedophile ring in Hollywood.

He set the goal for $10 million, explaining that he'd need the money so that he could

direct, produce, and distribute the film himself without the influence of a studio.

He said that he'd also use money donated to hire a legal team to protect him and his family.

"Justice will be served."

ARREMETIDA / GO-AROUND GEAR UP FLAP - Duration: 6:55.

HI PEOPLE WELCOME ON BOARD

TODAY WE WILL TALK ABOUT GO-AROUND

LET'S START FROM THE BEGINNING, WHAT IS A GO-AROUND?

WHEN AT THE LANDING PROCEDURE

FOR SOME REASON IT MUST TO DISCONTINUE

THIS APPROACH

AND STARTS TO GO UP AGAIN

DOING A NEW PROCEDURE TO LANDING

THIS IS A GO-AROUND

AND WHY IT HAPPENS?

IF FOR SOME REASONS

THE LANDING IS ABNORMAL

OR UNSAFE

THEY START THE GO-AROUND PROCEDURE

AND WHAT ARE THE REASONS?

WE CAN MAKE A LIST OF THIS

OBSTACLE ON THE RUNWAY

ANOTHER AIRPLANE

OR EVEN AN ANIMAL

WHEN WE FLY TO THE COUNTRY

SOME AIRPORTS ARE NOT TOTALLY CLOSED AROUND IT

SO SOME ANIMALS CAN ENTER. WIND IS ONE OF THE MOST

REASONS TO DISCONTINUE THE APPROACH

EACH AIRPLANE HAS THE LIMIT OF CROSS WIND

OR OF

TAIL WIND THAT IS ALLOWED TO LANDING

SOM, IF THIS WIND FOR SOME REASON

BECOME STRONGER

THE APPROACH MUST BE DISCUNTINUED

LET'S SUPOSE THE CROSS WIND

IS LIMITED OF 20KTS

FOR LANDING

SUDELLY THIS BECOMES 25, 30KTS

THE PILOT MUST GO-AROUND

SOME TIMES THE WIND CHANGES DIRECTION

THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD CHANGES

SO, YOU ARE APP TO THIS THRESHOLD, THE WIND CHANGED

AND YOU CAN'T CONTINUE

SO, YOU GO-AROUNDO

DO ANOTHER PROCEDURE

IT HAS A MAXIMUM SPEED

ALLOWED TO LANDING

AND STOP THE AIRPLANE

THERE ARE SOME PROCEDURES TO REDUCE SPEED

LIKE SPOILER, FLAP

LANDING GEAR... TO REDUCE

SPEED. BUT SOME TIMES

THIS IS NOT ENOUGH

BECAUSE THE AIRTRAFIC CONTROLLER REDUCES YOUR APP

SO, THIS SPEED

MAY BECOME MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED

AND WHEN YOU ARE AT

DECISION ALTITUDE

TO DECIDE IF YOU CONTINUE OR NOT

IF THE SPEED IS SUPERIOR

YOU MUST GO-AROUND

AND START AGAIN

SOME AIRPORTS ARE PROHIBITED TO LANDING WHEN IT'S RAINNING

FOR EXEMPLO CASCAVEL

THERE IS A PREDOMINANT CROSS WIND

IT WAS A VERY DIFFICULT RUNWAY TO LANDING

SO, THERE WAS SOME RULES TO LANDING THERE

THERE WAS A TIME THAT ONLY CAPTAINS COULD LANDING THERE

THERE WAS A TIME THAT WE COULDN'T LANDING WHEN IT WAS RAINING

YOU WAS THERE PREPARING YOUR APPROACHING

AND IT STARTS TO RAINING, YOU HAD TO DISCONTINUE AND GO-AROUND

IT EVERYTHING

IS DONE TO MAKE IT MORE SAFETY

FOLLOWING THE RULES

OF COMPANY, AIRPORT AND PRODUCER

IMPOSE FOR A SAFETY LANDING

WHAT IS A GO-AROUND?

IT'S THE SIMPLE THING OF PILOTS CHANGE THE LANDING CONDITIONS

TO A TAKEOFF CONDITIONS

SO, IT IS A FULL FLAP

WITH LANDING GEAR DOWN ALL CONFIGURED TO LANDING, AND SUDDENLY

IT MUST TO GO-AROUND

IT STARTS TO GO UP

CLEANING THE AIRPLANE. PUTTING THE LANDING GEAR UP

CUNFIGURE THE FLAP POSITION

PRESS THE GO-AROUND BUTTON

THE SCREES CHANGE TO TAKEOFF CONFIGURATION

INSTEAD OF LANDING PROCEDURE

SO, THIS IS A SIMPLE TAKEOFF BUT INSTEAD INITIATE IT FROM THE RUNWAY

IT WILL START FROM THE AIR

WHY THE PASSENGERS ARE SO SCARRY OF GO-AROUND?

BECAUSE OF LACK OF INFORMATION

THE AIRPLANE IS LANDING AND SUDDENLY IT STARTS TO GO UP AGAIN

THE ENGINE GOES TO FULL POWER

THE NOISE IS LOUDER

THE NOISE OF THE LANDING GEAR

SO MANY FACTORS

TO SCARE THE PASSENGER

BUT THE THUTH

THE PROBLEM IS LACK INFORMATION

DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING

BUT IT IS A NORMALLY PROCEDURE

The Zombie Walk/ A Marcha dos Zumbis.

An event who reunited fans of horror movies and series.

Of course I wouldn't miss it.

If it starts a zombie attack now, will you protect us?

This video is dedicated for you who feels alone,

thinking no one else loves horror movies,

with blood, murderers,

and things like that.

In 40 minutes they will start the march and people are coming.

Which brain would you eat today?

Negan, from The Walking Dead.

Temer's brain.

But do you think his brain to be worthwhile?

I'd have an indigestion,

Then I'd eat Bolsonaro's brain, I'd vomit.

I'd eat her brain toon.

Would you eat her brain?

Which brain would you like to eat today?

I don't know.

And who would you like to exorcise today?

I'd eat

I wouldn't eat the brain of our excellent president Temer,

because I don't eat rotten things.

I'd eat...

her brain.

She looks like she has a healthy brain.

Look, I'm not like a zombie today,

But I'd eat your brain too.

These have already been devoured.

They devoured these children!!

Is there any specific priest from some movie?

I'm Crilvella's brother (Actual mayor of Rio de Janeiro)

Tell me, who would you like to kill today?

Freddy Krueger.

Is he here?

Not yet, But I really wanna see him!!

Whose brain is this?

It's yours.

That's why I'm using a cap!

Elsa, what did they done to you?

Let it go in hell!!

Wonderful!

Who would you like to kill today?

I'm looking for Rick.

He'll pee in their panties today.

Lady, what happened to you?

Copacabana's new year's party?

Today it's All Souls Day,

Jane Doe was a stupid jerk, but he died.

When someone dies, everybody says that he was "an angel. a very good person".

If he returned as a zombie today,

What would you do?

I'd lock him at the basement, and cut each little part of his body.

A shot in the brain.

Jason Vorhees!!! Are u ready to kill how many today?

Everybody here!

How many years ago did you started to go to The Zombie Walk?

In 2013.

Just to see.

Then I thought really interesting, I like horror movies.

Then I started to participate,

To dress like this way,

Other people are dressed as well too,

I have a friend, Isac, probably he's around here,

He never lost it, I hope he's here this year,

And I was based in his zombie's costumes,

I've been having more experience,

and the result is what you're seeing now.

you look amazing!!

What's your favourite horror movie?

I prefer more psychological terror,

movies like Silent Hill, who was inspired in a game,

These are my favourite.

You!!

You!!

And all of you!!!

You're looking like Coffin Joe! YEAHHH!

Was it a coincidence or not?

Yes, it was. He was planning to be a magician.

But here it's impossible to be a magician!

Are you a killer clown? I'm gonna kill u!

So simple, so sweet.

Which recipe is that?

It's impossible talk now!

This blood looks fresh.

Is it from young people or old people?

I don't know.

Where did you get that blood?

I think you don't wanna know.

It's because of this we really wanna know.!

And don't forget!!!

Subscribe at this channel!!

Like the video!

Share it!

And activate the notifications,

at the little bell!

Is this your blood?

Most part of it, yes.

Are you sure you didn't kill anyone?

Not yet.

Michael!! They don't care about us!

Which brain will you eat today?

Madonna's brain!

No!! Not Madonna!

Madonna is my colleague.

It's true.

He cannot eat the brain of the queen of pop.

I'd eat Temer's brain.

Look!

According to polls this afternoon,

98% of the zombies here eat Temer's brain.

Or throw it at the garbage because it looks so so so rotten.

If people from the government were in this march, no one would survive!

Everybody's saying the same thing.

What do you think

if we did a Zombie Walk

at Guanabara's market birthday?

I think you're ready to!

U must keep these things when go to it's birthday!!!

All possibilities of protection! lol!

From Crystal Lake to Copacabana beach!!!

It's true.

Who will you kill today?

All that I can!

If someone is having sex around, you'll kill.

Jason hates people who does sex.

It's true. He's a virgin, a guy who don't like to see people happy.

Nun, what happened to you?

Who did it to you?

You died, but God didn't accept you.

Not even the Devil!!

Tell me what happened!

Nobody loves me!

Nobody wants me!

What mess did you do to come back this way?

I don't know!!!!

What's your favourite horror movie?

About serie, it's Zombie walk.

Now movies, I have a lot!

When I saw you, I thought about the nun from The Conjuring 2.

I have references, baby!

Which brain will you eat today?

Yes. In this walk you must eat some brain.

All of us who are here wants to eat a brain.

I've already eated.

The brain from that guy!

I'm waiting for people walk,

It's better when we're walking, so I'll keep my clothes clean.

I don't want brain fallind down on my clothes.

HORRO MOVIES IS LIFE!!!

At 02 of november, a lot of people here go to the church to pray for the deads.

But there are some people who decides to see dead people.

But here, the dead people come back to see us.

Does anybody know what is it?

Did he do hypnoses or are you joking me?

It's true.

No, you're fooling me.

Are you serious?

Would you like to try?

NO!

Why not?

I don't know what will happen!!

Nothing bad will happen!

Hey man, today it's All Soul's Day!

To have one more dead here at the road, it's just a blink of an eye.

You won't die.

No?

Except if you have some kind of problem and it's your time,

But this is not what he does. No, no, no!

Who knows? And if he order me to jump in front of the cars?

First: We never do this!

Second: You won't do nothing you don't want it usually.

So, would you throw yourself in front of the cars?

NO!

So, it won't happen!

So, this has nothing to do with the Zombie Walk, right?

Yes, it's another thing. But we're following them.

We'll stop an the end with the march,

In arpoador,

And then, we'll stay there.

If I won't die at the walk, I'll do.

Family reunited even in the dead.

Mc happy human flesh!

This is soo much nicer than a religious procession at the church.

People are thinking it's arrastão!

Arrastão is when a lot of people together steals everybody! It's very usual here!

Zombie arrastão!

Sometimes you think someone is at the Zombie March, but he's not!!

"oh, I was just passing".

Ok, but why are you dressed like one?

no answer.

Kill it! Kill it! Shot it in the head!!

This is a disney park for horror movies fans!

If someone dies here, at All Soul's Day day,

will it return to be part of the Zombie Walk?

These two are zombies!!!! They're masked!!

Zombies doing a "fuck in the air"

Gay zombie!!!! Which brain will you eat today?

Your brain!!

And your dick too!!

Zombie punk circle!!

WHERE'S MY FLIP-FLOP?

iT'S DEAD!!

But you're dead too, little baby!

Tama Kieves on "Thriving Through Uncertainty" - Duration: 6:22.

So Tama, I am so happy that you came in today to talk to me about your upcoming event with

us.

And so I just want to ask you a question.

I know you have an interesting story of how you became an author and speaker.

So I wonder if you would share that with us today.

How many hours do you have?

I guess the main thing is that like so many people, I followed somebody else's advice

for what you're supposed to do with your life and I ignored what I really really wanted

to do.

I'd always wanted to write, but I grew up in a Brooklyn, New York, Orthodox Jewish house,

and my mother basically said, "You're gonna write?

You're gonna starve--you're gonna write!"

And that was the "Go for your dreams" talk I heard.

And I think a lot of people get that.

A lot of people get the tried-and-true plan of what you're supposed to do, not what you

really want to do, not what's in your soul to do, not what's inspiring you.

And so basically I went off to law school, I went to Harvard Law School, I graduated

with honors, I was on partnership track, and I was in this law firm and I was so unhappy

because when you're not doing what your soul is asking you to do, it's so painful.

And that's what really started beginning my journey.

Because I finally got the guts and I decided to leave that practice because a friend of

mine said, "If you're this successful doing something you don't even love, what could

you do with what you love?"

And that began my inspired journey of really deciding, you get one life--I want to know

where it goes--if you listen to that inspired voice.

So that's how I started my journey of becoming a writer and a speaker and a coach.

And what was the name of your first book?

My first book is "This Time I Dance: Creating the Work You Love".

And then since then you've written how many books?

Oh my God, it's so cool.

I've written "Inspired and Unstoppable: Wildly Succeeding In Your Life's Work", "A Year Without

Fear: 365 Days of Magnificence", and now my latest, the one I'm really excited about presenting,

is "Thriving Through Uncertainty".

You know I just find it interesting that you came up with that title what, like, a year

ago?

Yeah, at least a year or two--two years ago, whenever it was, because I'm so prophetic,

I mean, oh my God.

I didn't plan on this, believe me!

Don't blame the world on me!

Yes and we certainly are going through times with a lot of uncertainty.

Yes.

So I know you're going to speak about your new book whenever your event is, and so can

you talk a little bit more about what writing--Absolutely.

Because you know, in all of my career journey, what I noticed was that when you're facing

uncertainty--most people don't live the life of their dreams because they don't know how

to handle uncertainty.

And what happens is then you start choosing from your smallness, or your weakness.

You get overwhelmed instead of choosing from your strength.

And so what I learned on my journey, on my varied career journey, uh one transformation

of my life, is I learned how to listen to my inspired self rather than that smaller,

frightened self.

That's why I wrote "Thriving Through Uncertainty", and that's why I want to do this workshop,

is I want to help people realize that, you know, when life isn't going the way that you

planned, when something's not happening the way that you think--that's actually the beginning

of your destiny.

When life doesn't go according to your plan, that's when you're destiny's coming in.

And that's a chance that you have--it's a once in a lifetime chance.

It's a chance of a lifetime to learn how to use these other faculties that are inside

of you, this extraordinary self that you have.

And so that's really what I'm excited about sharing with people.

Well I can tell you have a lot of passion for this book, and so I'm excited that you're

going to be here with us again.

Absolutely you know, because most of us, when we have challenges or problems, right, the

first thing you do is push them away, right?

And by the way, this book, unlike my other books, and this workshop, is not just career

transition.

It's if you're in a divorce or marital difficulties or an illness or you are creating the work

you love or trying to do your empire--any uncertainty that you are facing--that's what

this is for.

Because most of us, when we hit challenges or difficulties, we want to push it away.

My mother used to say, when things would come up, my mother used to say, "Did I need this?

Did I need this?"

Like any of us need these things, right?

But you know what?

Maybe we do need it.

Maybe there's something right now, in the exact circumstance in your life, that is going

to help you thrive.

The thing I most want people to take away from it is that it's not about thriving later.

It's not about "someday", it's not when things fall into place, it's not when you get all

your answers--you can thrive right now.

And I think the main thing that I would want people to know, because I'm seeing this as

a coach, for years, is that you may feel overwhelmed, you may feel like there's so many answers

or directions or possibilities and you might feel overwhelmed, and you don't know what

to do.

But really, there's already a path inside you.

There's already a direction inside you.

I've seen it every single time.

I'm never trying to figure out the path for people.

I'm going to help you connect with that path that is already here for this chance in a

lifetime, so that's what I'm really excited about.

Well I can't wait for you to come to Mile Hi and I am so thankful that you are here

today.

And so we'll be seeing you soon.

Yes you will!

Yay!

Thank you.
