Hello! My name is tekalu and i make Vocaloid techno-pop.

I have also spent some time asking questions to tekalu and I am about to give you some trivia facts about him.
First fo all he likes to play instruments in his free time.
He likes cofee with lot of sugar. I suggested him to try out some delicious Zunda-shake!

What is your secret or your "trademark-style" when composing with Vocaloid?
That's an interesting question!
I mainly use Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto
and you know Teto is an UTAU and I only use V2 of Miku,
and they both sound really metallic
and while i like this metallic sound, it's hard to work with them, so I spend lot of time trying to fix it
and I aim to geet what we call a "kerokero" sound here in japan (strongly auto-tuned voice)
and my secret is that while most producers do it with autotune plugins I do it manually
rewriting them one by one with the pencil tool of my DAW

What's the different between the japanese fanbase and the western one?
What do you mean by fanbase?
Just means fan. I mean tekalu, you both post videos on NicoNico and on Youtube. What is the difference between japanese fans and western ones?
I mean, if you feel there are differences at all...

As you said I post them on NicoNico and Youtube,
as you can imagine NicoNico audience is mainly japanese,
and they looks to care more than to the character itself, like Miku or Teto, rather than to the song.
while western fans and users on Youtube seems to care more about the song rather than the character
That's an interesting way to see things. So you thing japanese are more interested on the character rather than the song itself...
