Top Economist After Trump Tax Cuts, US the Best Country for Business

A top economist who worked in the Reagan administration thinks the tax reform bill President Donald

Trump signed into law late last year has made the U.S. the best country for business.

The U.S. economy is about to benefit from an investment boom thanks to the tax

legislation, economist Larry Kudlow said in a radio interview last week.

We are on the front end of an investment boom thats largely tied to the tax cuts,

Kudlow told John Catsimatidis, the host of New York AM 970s The Cats Roundtable.

(It) will be stronger than anything weve seen in probably 25 years, Kudlow continued.

Kudlow who served as a senior economic adviser on the Trump campaign then suggested

that the tax reform legislation is the reason the U.S. is once again turning into a nation

where companies actually want to do business. The legislation benefited businesses by cutting

the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent, meaning they have less incentive

to move their operations overseas.

America is once again becoming the best investment environment in the world the

best country in which to do business, Kudlow said. And thats a powerful positive.

The economist did not fail to mention the recent volatility in the stock market. Last

week was the Dow Jones Industrial Averages worst in two years, though the index recovered

on Friday, gaining more than 300 points.

On Monday, the Dow built on those gains, climbing more than 400 points.

According to Kudlow, though, the stock markets performance is not always an accurate indicator

of how the economy is doing because this volatility is often driven by computers, not real people.

He noted that that last week, traders were selling a lot of shares due to the higher

levels of the CBOE Volatility Index, also known as the fear index.

Its a free country John, and its a free market, but I think we go too far with

electronic trading, he said. It doesnt reflect the fundamentals of the economy either,

which are very good.

In a Wednesday tweet, meanwhile, President Donald Trump also claimed that the stock market

does not reflect the true state of the economy.

In the old days, when good news was reported, the Stock Market would go up. Today,

when good news is reported, the Stock Market goes down, Trump wrote.

Big mistake, and we have so much good (great) news about the economy!

Kudlow, who worked as an associate director in former President Ronald Reagans Office

of Management and Budget, recalled that at one point in the 1980s, the stock market was

similarly unpredictable, though the economy was strong.

Thus, he urged investors not to panic.

The country is good, profits are good, the mothers milk of stocks. This is

not going to be a permanent crash. This is not 2008. People shouldnt panic. In fact,

stocks are going to be cheaper. Id buy them and Id hold them for the long run,

he said.

Hillary Shows Up At Costco Unprepared And Gets Massive Dose Of Karma In The Milk Aisle! - Duration: 4:52.

Hillary Shows Up At Costco Unprepared And Gets Massive Dose Of Karma In The Milk Aisle!

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton arrived at a Costco very unprepared for what they

had in store.

What she may have expected to be one thing, ultimately turned out to be something much

different.

She probably wasn't ready for this level of treatment from Costco, but perhaps someone

responsible for this felt like splashing a cold serving of karma towards her.

Clinton was at a Costco in Brookfield, Connecticut as part of her book tour.

She showed up and Costco told her where to go.

She didn't have to do much except for sign a handful of books for a few people who were

there to see her, but she didn't expect what Costco had planned for her.

As a former First Lady to then-President Bill Clinton, who was caught in scandals in the

White House with interns.

Hillary probably expected the royal treatment and a red carpet at Costco.

That was not the case.

You wouldn't know that Hillary lived in the White House after seeing where Costco

placed her to sign books.

As customers walked in, some walked right by and didn't care.

A few others stood in line and waited.

The funny part is that Costco placed Hillary Clinton right next to a massive stockpile

of toilet paper packages.

We're not sure if it was one-ply or two-ply.

This was at the end of the milk aisle.

Milk and toilet paper is what Costco thought of Hillary Clinton that day.

You might have your own opinion, but you can save that for the comment section after the

article.

Hillary was stationed at the end of the milk aisle, sitting next to toilet paper, signing

a few autographs.

Not everyone was interested.

Some people protested and Hillary was not prepared for that level of interaction.

It became very awkward, very fast.

Conservative News reported more: "Hillary held a book signing inside a Costco,

where she signed 1,000 copies of her memoir "What Happened".

But it didn't go quite as she likely hoped it would go.

Laura Loomer, an investigative journalist, showed up and reported on what went down.

But Hillary's people were apparently on to Loomer, and refused to let her see Hillary.Costco's

members were not pleased with the book signing.

Loomer claims that an employee told her that people were cancelling their memberships because

the store allowed Hillary to be there.

But there were also people stationed outside, protesting.

They held up signs and chanted, "Hillary for Prison!".

One resident told Loomer, "I think it's a disgrace that Costco has Hillary Clinton.

She's a criminal!"

Still, not everyone was angry about Hillary's presence.

Some thought it was laudable that she came into "enemy territory" — the small town

of Brookfield, Connecticut has not voted for a Democrat for president in decades, and the

majority of residents voted for Donald Trump last year.

"I thought it was cool that she came into enemy territory," Michael Russano said,

who said he claimed that he came because his nine-year-old daughter asked him to.

"Certainly, any time a 9-year-old is interested in meeting such an important public figure

you want to encourage that.

I think she's a great example for little girls regardless of your political views."

Others were not as excited.

"Oh my god.

Her?" said Christian Beck, a Trump supporter.

"I had negative feelings about Clinton because of some of the things that she's done.

She still thinks a lot about herself.

I'm sorry, but she needs to get off her horse.

She lost.

That's it."

Here's a photograph of some Hillary Clinton protesters.

She most likely didn't think she would feel the wrath of the American people while she

was on her book tour.

It was supposed to be "all about her" but it turned out to be quite a disaster.

Before her book tour, Hillary Clinton had become the Democrat nominee for the presidential

election in 2016.

Clinton surpassed Bernie Sanders in what may have been considered a controversial way.

Clinton later squared up against rookie Donald Trump who had no political experience but

ran a much better campaign that appealed to a higher number of Americans where the votes

counted.

California provided an extra amount of popular votes for Hillary Clinton; however, the electoral

ballot helps protect the elections from having the same few more extensive and more populated

states from determining every outcome.

Trump's campaign spoke of America being the priority, and his business background

is keeping the economy moving.

If the popular vote was the only way to decide, then California could swing every election

in their direction based merely on the size of the state and the number of people living

there.

Some Hillary Clinton supporters still resist the Presidency of Donald Trump, regardless

of Trump's wild levels of historic success.

What do you think about this?

hi everyone welcome to get indie gaming 2018 looks an awesome year for indie

game horror fans and in this list we'll be looking at ten of the most hotly

anticipated such games that are said to be out over the course of this year

naturally enough what follows contains violent scenes and flashing images which

some may find disturbing duly warned let's open that trap door at number 10

being a fish out of water isolated and lost within a dreamlike

world that's strange and unsettling the game will release in two parts and his

open-plan player only to play close attention to environmental clues to

avoid missing key and crucial plot points that's a bold decision as it

lacks also any tutorials or in-game prompts players and a recent beta came

out with mixed opinions although given the Associated launch timelines

there's plenty time still for the gameplay to match the quality of the

visuals

number nine blasphemous

blasphemous is being developed by a game kitchen who brought us the last door in

2016 and is a former Kickstarter project that went on to earn over 600 percent of

its target hopefully it's due out later this year it's a 2d pixel art gothic

looking affair with its roots firmly within the classics and legendary

Castlevania type series and looks to blend 2d platforming with Metroidvania

like touches within a horror inspired aesthetic at number eight close

to the Sun in close to the Sun from the team at the rather wonderfully named

storm in a teacup your players Rose a journalist looking for her sister aboard

a gigantic ship created by none other than Nikola Tesla while thus far not too

much is known about the game apart from certain character and story aspects

what's clear from the trailer the game's visuals and location stylings lend

themselves heavily to the first game in the Bioshock series and if this footage

is anything to go by so does the on-screen atmospherics we

loved the original bioshock game and given how close to the sun looks and

feels were hopeful the team can deliver on this premise

the Sun at number seven moons of madness

come on you can honestly sit there and tell me you believe the stones were

superior their music to follow situation moons of madness is looking to do a fair

number of things a cosmic horror game set on Mars and upfront exploration of

mental health issues and a tough-as-nails sci-fi space simulator

your astronaut Shan nuit and you're battling hallucinations as you set about

trying to solve the supernatural occurrences within and around a research

station on the red planet from the looks of it gameplay will feature

environmental puzzles with elements of walking simulated type of activities all

wrapped up with horror based set pieces there's no denying how great it all

looks and hopefully the focus and how the mental health issues are tackled and

displayed will come with the sensitivity and mindfulness of last year's senua

sacrifice expected out towards the end of March

number six System Shock remastered

system shock from back in 1994 is widely regarded as being one of the most

quintessential fps is of its time and one that inspired and gave influences to

many games of its type that followed coming from a hugely successful

Kickstarter that pulled in more than a million dollars the game is getting a

complete reboot by the people at night dive studios and should land with us in

the first half of the year with a new game engine and supporting adapted

levels weapons and enemies the story aside from a number of dialogue and plot

hole fixes is said to be true to the original game by adopting and using

modern gaming design principles and visuals night dive hope to make System

Shock more accessible to modern gamers while also having it recognizable to

those like us who played the original very much looking forward to this one

and if like many you're new to the story it's one to certainly keep an eye out

for

number five ad infinitum vowel ad infinitum was announced within the

summer of 2016 has been limited updates from the Hamburg based Strix lab team

although this promising in the looking horror game is likely to drop at some

point this year it's slated to be an atmospheric single-player horror game

which sees you play within the world war one trench setting you'll find yourself

being haunted and hunted by various creatures as you solve puzzles to clear

pathways through the trenches to avoid capture no word yet on the full platform

launch schedule although it's certainly coming to steam with perhaps consoles at

a later date at number four visage

inspired by other horror games such as the experiences within Petey and alien

isolation visage will place players in a seemingly normal although clearly

otherwise house where you'll use point-and-click mechanics define the

horrors of the past contained within its rooms boasting elaborate hallucinate

scenes flashbacks and set pieces the game also uses randomization which

should encourage future replays out later this year on the PC PlayStation 4

and the Xbox in third place hunt showdown

another one announced way back in 2014 and very recently having gone into it

alpha testing phase hunt showdown is a highly promising horror zombie shooter

with PvE and PvP elements this one comes from Crytek the team that brought us

crisis while expected this year in early access with a full release to follow the

year after were compelled to list it here having seen the recent footage from

the aforementioned alpha you'll play as part of a group of bounty hunters set to

rid the swamps of Louisiana of any number of horrid and ghastly creatures

you play in teams and once the winning side has finished off the beast and

having been rewarded with a bounty every other team on the map turns their guns

on the victors as they try to escape while there's no shortage of survival

games out there hunts showdown looks like one of the better within the genre

that's seeking to merge horror elements within it on paper and on screen at

least this one is looking promising and it looks capable of delivering the goods

in second place Call of Cthulhu the official video game how am i doing here

it was just a nightmare though I was there mr. Pierce don't have that you

have to rest that was the trees deserve a rain lean

time can heal earthly call of cthulhu regarded by many as the

greatest horror in the HP Lovecraft catalog unlike perhaps you might expect

you don't play the part of a sailor who came across Cthulhu but rather as Edward

Pierce a former veteran and private detective from a 1920s Boston who is

investigating the strange and mysterious death of Sarah Hawkins and her family in

Dark Water Island while conducting his investigation Pearce uncovers

information that the resurrection of Cthulhu is looming the game is set

within a semi-open world and will combine investigation sections with

stealth based mechanics while staying true and honest - the key elements of

Lovecraftian cosmic home with so many games of late paying homage to such

stylings in this one it appears we found the pick of the bunch at number one

agony expected to launch this coming March 30th agony is a first-person

survival horror game from the Polish based mad mind studio set in hell the

trailers and recent gameplay footage look positively and utterly terrifying

and genuinely unsettling agony puts you in the role as an inhabitant of Hell

who's able to possess other people and demons what most impresses us with agony

is what appears to be the perfect matching of grotesque visuals together

with its soundscape that has the ability to evoke a sincere feeling of

unrelenting unease and disgust that's fairly special with the March launch

soon upon us we're delighted and brimming with nervous excitement might

agony be too intense for us we'll see shortly enough and with that many thanks

Mon El Stays In A Major TWIST? Kara & Imra Fight Scene REVEALED? - Supergirl Season 3 News - Duration: 7:35.

well seven years is a long time strange as it may sound the 31st century is

actually not that different from today what better smartphones what's a fine

what's so phone Oh the futures awesome well technology is

developed beyond imagining but at the end of the day it's still in service of

communicating with each other and entertaining each other and also killing

each other in this day or in a thousand years conflict is constant what's so

striking and and that's where we come in so what are you soldiers the

government's were overwhelmed by violence by chaos well organised us and

we banded together to help her theatres keep the peace at home and in the stars

we call ourselves the Legion and we exist because of you and because of me

you inspired me so when I found the Legion I chose to use you as an example

of what we could be what we aspire to be when I learned about your life and work

and your compassionate fight for justice and your devotion to protecting others

everything just crystallized your example gave my life purpose

I can't express how much it means for me to meet you in person

what is good YouTube Warstu here with a video on Supergirl season 3 now I know

what you think in Supergirl isn't back for eight weeks I think it comes back in

April maybe don't quote me from right but it comes back in eight weeks so we

were left on that cliffhanger that Saturn go and brainy came back on a

secret mission but what is that secret mission that Monell doesn't know about

it's gonna be very interesting to find out what that secret mission is actually

about because if you go back and re-watch that episode 9 where Sasson go

and mono are talking about what happened in the future how they got back that

they were trying to take out the darkness and you look at her body

language her eyes she's moving away she literally told us with her body language

that she was lying and that we should have all seen it then some of us did sit

down very interesting she's a very good actor if you go back rewatch the clip

I'm gonna play it before this video starts very good clips so we have got

some world we've got a world Explorer not a world exclusive but the spoiler

kind of twitter handler that has been posting a lot of correct information is

back a dick post and stuff but it did delete the stuff so I can't actually

bring up but basically what's going on is around episode 16 17 18 or episode

it's 17 18 well it says 17 that Saturn go and Brainiac 5 are gonna go back to

the future with mono or without mono where it's saying that mono is going to

stay stay in earth 38 in the current timeline but what's interesting is if

mono and Umrah actually break up this kind of political marriage that we have

won't be a forged back seven years in the future and this alliance will come

tumbling down so in theory it could actually create

whoever it is in the future to come back seven years and take out Kara

because Cara would be the actual reason so in recent images that came up

yesterday from North Hollywood buzz their handle it is why VR shoots on

Twitter it appears that Amy Jackson and Melissa

Benoist got on a massive argument and they stormed off set well at least

that's how some people pour on it so basically there's going to be a massive

argument between these two people it's going to be about mono staying on

ma now go in but what is actually interesting is they said that they

couldn't fight rain to start off with because their DNA is forged their DNA is

vital for the existent for the their basic existence for the world to kind of

exist their DNA is that important that they couldn't get involved then it could

get involved so if Monell doesn't actually go back to the future with his

wife then it's gonna be like a massive plot hole so this argument could be

about that but I'm thinking most likely this argument is going to do with the

third world killer pestilence so pestilence if you look it up it's

basically to do with a play so I'm presuming it's going to have something

to do with pestilence power is most likely going to be the most powerful one

has set for rain I think so it's gonna be interesting to see where Supergirl is

going so let me know guys let me know guys in the comment box down below what

is this argument about that it's caused a worldwide frenzy on Twitter YouTube

Instagram I'm seeing absolutely everywhere I didn't want to include this

argument in my video because it seems a bit petulant and seems a little bit

minor but if a whole episode 17 is going to be based around two people getting in

an argument in front of a hotel then I don't know what's gonna happen it's very

very interesting guys so let me know it's just a bit odd it really is a bit

odd that Monell I mean he's going out so obviously Chris Wood and Melissa Benoist

a going out in real life so do you really think that mono is going to leave

the show whilst they are going out in real life and living together no but I

think it would be more interesting if Monell went to the future with him and

we got to see some future ristic episodes so we got to see a handful of

episodes in the future and that would be interested in I mean originally I did

think that carol was gonna go to the future to try and help out that does

seem quite redundant so we do know that Saturn girl will reappear towards the

end of the season because I think if she if the secret mission is to do with

Emma's sister and maybe my sister being a third world killer or maybe she's the

world killer we don't know guys no I really don't think it's gonna be that

but if it is to do resistor why they came back in time that

possibly she could have died in the future and they're gonna come back to

save her that sounds ridiculous seeing as we all

know what Barry Allen taught is that if you mess with the timeline everything

will concurrently mess up in the future and it will make things worse than they

originally started so guys let me know in the comment box down below what do

you think its arguments about do you think caramel I mean carmella is gonna

get back together do you think mono is gonna stay in the current time I don't

worry guys I got you I'm gonna keep you up-to-date with all the latest and

greatest Supergirl news theories and videos until the TV show comes back at

the moment we do actually have relations tomorrow covering its place with a whole

malleus storyline and CW have just announced they are extended one more day

to their schedule so it does this actually mean that

Supergirl could concurrently air with all the other shows if that was the case

then one of the TV shows will most likely have to be on a Sunday night

anyway guys let me know about this video down below what you think about all the

questions half down below and it appears that the flash season 5 and arrow season

7 have actually been renewed for another season

courtesy of discussion film who I'm pretty cool with a pretty cool guy that

runs that so very reliable source so it's cool but did anyone actually think

they wouldn't be renewed I just think it's a bit weird that Supergirl and

legend tomorrow haven't moved yet hey guys please like subscribe and comment

as always I love how passionate you superfans are anyway guys join team wars

to down below by hitting that Bell button and I will catch you in that

comment section like always guys he's like subscribe and comment and I will

catch you in another video very soon guys catch ya later

Airline Law and Regulation: A Brief History [POLICYbrief] - Duration: 5:34.

The airline industry is one of the most heavily regulated and subsidized industries in the

country.

In 1925, began in subsidy with the Kelly Act that allowed the post office to begin paying

private airlines to transport air mail.

Now in 1930, the Air Mail Act was passed, allowing the, uh, postmaster general t- broad

authority for reforming the way that air mail, uh, was paid for.

So the postmaster general exceeded his authority in convening many of the airlines and basically

deciding who was going to survive, who would fly what routes, and often, uh, not taking

the cheapest bids in what became known as the Spoils Conference, in what was then a

scandal.

When this came to light, all of the contracts were voided, and FDR went to the military

and asked them if they'd be willing to fly the mail.

Of course, they said yes.

Unfortunately, they weren't familiar with the terrain, uh, and there were a series of

airline accidents in the 1930s with the Air Force.

And so it was eventually turned back over to the US airlines.

In the late 1930s, the Civil Aeronautics Administration, uh, which was the original regulator of the

airlines, they carved off some of the functions into the FAA, renamed it the Civil Aeronautics

Board, and that was the primary regulator of the airlines through the late 1970s.

The Civil Aeronautics Board saw its mission as, uh, ensuring the profitability of the

airline industry.

We usually think about regulation as being intended to protect the consumer, but there

the Civil Aeronautics Board, uh, wanted to avoid what they called "ruinous competition."

So they decided, what airlines would be allowed to fly which routes and the prices that were

allowed to be charged.

And there are subsidies for the airlines today.

For instance, recently many of the major airlines have been through bankruptcy, pensions were

moved off of their, of their balance sheets onto the federal Pension Benefit Guaranty

Corporation.

Airlines receive fuel tax subsidies.

And airports aren't paid entirely by ticket prices.

They're paid for by localities.

When a locality wants a new flight, they'll often offer guaranteed revenue or subsidies

from the community to the airline in exchange for those.

Uh, so there's some limitations in law, on what an airline can do with its subsidies.

They can't offer pricing that is too low, uh, but beyond that, the law had very little

to say in this regard.

Under the Airline Deregulation Act, there's really a uniform set of regulation of air

travel across the US.

Individual states aren't able to regulate it, and consumers aren't able to go to state

court with state law-based claims against airlines.

So individuals have rights against the airlines.

Those are generally defined in federal law.

For instance, if you have a, uh, disability and you want to be accommodated, you have

the Federal Air Carrier Access Act.

Meanwhile, the airlines have a dedicated agency in the Department of Transportation that regulates

them and sets standards for their business, and is the venue through which consumers can

complain.

Individual rights are generally determined at the federal level within aviation, uh,

rather than at the state level.

So does purchasing a ticket guarantee you a seat on the flight?

Since virtually the beginning of commercial aviation in the US, airlines have sold more tickets on many flights

than they have seats.

And that's because they know that not everybody is going to make it to a given flight.

However, you're almost virtually certain to be able to have a seat on the flight for which

you buy a ticket. That's because airlines are pretty darn reliable, even though airlines

do overbook, um, it's very rare that they turn people away that have a ticket for that flight.

In April 1972, Ralph Nader booked a flight on Allegheny Airlines from Washington, DC

to Hartford, Connecticut.

Allegheny Airlines booked 107 passengers for 100 seats.

And what they had said to him was, "You know, look, we'll give you an alternate flight.

We'll get you there connecting in Philadelphia.

And by the way, you have ten minutes to connect."

He didn't do that.

He took a flight to Boston instead.

He had a staffer pick him up, and then he went and sued.

And it made it to the Supreme Court.

And what the Supreme Court said was, ultimately that there was a private right of action to

sue an airline for overbooking, because even back then it was so rare.

What governs your relationship to airline is the airline's contract of carriage.

And that's going to lay out the airline's responsibilities, which is, generally speaking, to transport you

from the city that you're beginning to your destination city.

They're not obligated to provide you that transportation on the specific flights that

they've sold you a schedule for.

They're going to provide you transportation in a reasonable period of time around the

schedule, uh, but not necessarily on those flights.

So for instance, if weather causes a flight to cancel, they can put you on another flight,

maybe it's a nonstop, maybe it connects in a different city.

You don't have a right to connect in the city that you'd originally schedule to connect

in.

If they're involuntarily denied boarding, consumers are entitled to compensation under

Department of Transportation rules.

They're entitled to compensation based on the length of time that it takes them to get

them to their final destination, but up to four times the ticket cost, or $1,350.

Whatever Happened To Duff Goldman From Ace Of Cakes - Duration: 5:03.

Remember Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes, the show that inspired you to get in the kitchen

and try your hand at some serious dessert decoration?

Goldman headed up the show for an impressive 10 years, but he definitely didn't retire

from the business once it came to an end.

So, what's he been up to since?

Here's how he's been getting baked these days.

"My name is Duff and I'm here to...make cakes that'll make your day."

Ace of Cakes' next adventure

When Ace of Cakes first started, it was one of a kind.

Make it bigger, make it badder make it awesome....for me it's all about the cake."

But by the time it was cancelled, there were a ton of other copycat cake-themed shows on

the air.

Goldman told the L.A. Times that was one of the reasons he wanted to do something different

for his follow-up venture with Food Network.

He said,

"The concept is not genius.

I ride around the country, show up on a motorcycle and eat dessert.

What's new is how you present it…

I'm a dude on a bike who likes chocolate and custard."

Sugar High crashed after only 6 episodes, but it wasn't long before Goldman was on to

the next thing.

Copycakes

Donald Trump's presidential inauguration sent US politics into a collective tailspin, but

Goldman had a grievance of his own.

A few years earlier, Goldman's Baltimore-based Charm City Cakes had been tasked with creating

President Barack Obama's 2013 inaugural celebration cake.

"So you get the call from the White House and they've got a big party that's going to

happen and they might need a cake…"

"Yeah."

But Trump's cake, four years later, looked suspiciously familiar.

Goldman posted a side-by-side comparison on Twitter, noting he definitely hadn't made

Trump's cake.

It turns out that Trump cake-maker, Buttercream Bakeshop, said they had been asked specifically

to replicate Goldman's cake — and they did.

So much for cake copyright.

In it for the dough

During his time at the Culinary Institute of America in California, Goldman was also

working at a local bakery that would produce thousands of baguettes and rolls every single

day.

He told the L.A. Times,

"It was Zen-like.

I was there all night by myself.

But here was this visceral satisfaction at the end of each shift, just looking at all

the bread on the racks."

It's that love he's gone back to, perfecting his own recipe for focaccia — and more — for

his 2015 cookbook, Duff Bakes.

"It's everything, it's like cookies, pies, muffins, scones...like everything.

Not just cakes."

Bread might seem like a departure for someone who made his name by making some of the most

mind-blowing cakes ever seen on Food Network, but Goldman clearly has a soft spot for this

kind of dough.

He says,

"If I could stop doing cakes and make bread and still have the lifestyle I have, I would."

A motorcycle accident

Anyone who follows Goldman knows he's a huge fan of motorcycles.

"Look at me.

I look like a bouncer…there's nothing about me that says cake decorator, except for the

whisk that's tattooed on my arm."

But in 2012, he was involved in an accident, where he lost a few of his toes.

He told Us Weekly that even though he promised he wouldn't ride anymore, it was a promise

he couldn't keep.

He told the mag,

"It just made me make the choice — more consciously to say, 'I'm doing something that

is very dangerous, but it's something I love.'"

Going "Hollywood"

After Ace of Cakes made his bakery the go-to place for cakes on the East Coast, Goldman

headed west.

Duff's Cakemix opened on L.A.'s Melrose Avenue in 2012, and while you can definitely order

a cake from him, you can also decorate one yourself at the shop.

Feeling the music

In 2015, L.A. Magazine ran an intro piece on one of the city's newest rock bands: Foie

Grock.

Not surprisingly, it's made up almost entirely of chefs — with Goldman on bass.

They say it all started when Goldman was at an event with Knead and Co. Pasta Bar chef

Bruce Kalman.

Someone made the off-hand comment they looked like they were in a band, and it wasn't long

before they were — along with a few other recruits.

Back on the small screen

In 2015, Goldman returned to Food Network's lineup.

But not to bake.

Instead, he was co-judging on Kids Baking Championship.

Goldman says he's been consistently amazed by the competition's young bakers, telling

Food Network Dish,

"It wasn't [just] good for kids, it was good, period…These kids were better at 11 and

12 years old than I was when I graduated culinary school."

Speaking out

In 2017, Goldman wrote a piece for People, weighing in on a controversial case that was

heading to the Supreme Court.

It started when Masterpiece Cakeshop claimed they were well within their rights to refuse

to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding because of their religious views.

Goldman didn't agree, writing,

"…I'm supporting a same-sex couple in Colorado in their lawsuit against a local business

owner who refused to sell them wedding cake…lower courts repeatedly agree that refusing service

amounted to nothing more than discrimination...And I definitely agree…"

Goldman went on to say the issue was a "slippery slope," with the potential to open the door

to further discrimination.

Dropping those pounds

It's impossible to watch any cooking show without wondering how anyone manages to stay

healthy, and that goes double for shows revolving around dessert.

"This is the greatest thing ever invented."

But in August 2017, Goldman took to social media to show off his impressive weight loss

— saying he went "old school", focusing on eating right, lifting weights, and riding

his motorcycle, while piling his plate with veggies and low-fat protein.

He told Men's Health that getting to the point where he needs new clothes is one of the best

feelings he's experienced.

"Eat that donut.

You want that donut, eat it...don't eat three.

And try to keep it down to one a week."

Fast Speech 2 | How To Sound Like A Native Speaker - Duration: 14:10.

Hey guys what's up Stefanie the English coach here from EnglishFullTime.com

in this video we are gonna talk again about fast speech now I say "again"

because I already made a video about fast speech or what is known also as

connected speech and you guys really seemed to like it and you asked me to make

more videos like that so that's what I'm doing so here's the deal you guys

already know that English actually sounds nothing like the way that it's

written and that's because it's not a phonetic language so you might see for

example a T in a word and realize that native speakers don't pronounce the T

when they say it okay that's quite common and that's just something you

have to make your peace with the writing system of English is old it's outdated

and it just doesn't work very well okay so spelling in English writing in

English is completely different than the way that native speakers speak and when

we are speaking in casual conversation we combine words in many different ways

so as long as you're paying attention to the way that we combine the words you

can imitate us and do this too you just really have to get away from trying to

pronounce things the way that they're written because if you separate every

single word in a sentence you're gonna sound like a textbook you're not gonna

sound natural and you know what even though every word might be clear because

you're clearly pronouncing them it'll be difficult for native speakers to

understand you because they really have to focus on what you're saying and put

the words together in their head okay because it'll say on choppy so for

example if I say "hi what are you doing today?" right that's kind of slow and it

just sounds choppy or like whoa what is she saying right and if I just say "hey

what are you doing today?" okay what are you doing today I'm sure you understand

that and it sounds more natural okay so we're gonna talk about phrases like this

and words that get reduced when we're speaking in casual conversation and

actually I want to go back to the example that I just gave "what are you

doing today" because in the first video that I made

about fast speech the example that I gave you was "hey whatcha doing later?"

right whatcha doing later?" we don't always say what are you doing

later cuz that's just way too choppy we say whatcha doing later but we can

also say whatter you doing later what are

becomes "whatter" what are what are you doing later what are you doing later

okay and I wanted to give you that example

because when I watched the other video I realized oh that's not the only

way we say it okay so with fast and connected speech sometimes we you know

we combine the same words differently so what are you can become whatcha or

"whatterya" "whatterya" next the word especially okay when something is

especially funny or especially interesting the word is especially it's

spelled with an e in the front so it looks like it should be especially but

the way we say it is just especially but here's the thing in fast speech when I'm

just talking in a regular conversation with somebody I don't really say

especially unless I'm really exaggerating the word and trying to draw

attention to it I just say 'specially like I really like dessert 'specially

chocolate ice cream okay 'specially now the reason why I'm telling you about

this is not just for the pronunciation because I think a lot of you know that

we say specially you've picked it up but what happens is sometimes when you

write comments on my videos you say 'specially in the comments and we don't

do that we don't write 'specially we only say it okay we write especially the

next one is similar excuse me if you're in a formal situation you're gonna say

oh excuse me I'm sorry I didn't understand you can you repeat yourself

or something like that okay excuse me but if you're just at the grocery store

and someone's in your way you can say oh 'scuse me we take off the "ex" okay so

instead of saying excuse me you are in my way excuse me you're in my way I just

say "scuse me" okay the next word is fundamental fundamental fundamental now

this is a pretty long word and words like this get reduced all the time and I

said this the other day but I didn't say fundamental okay I said "funamenal"

funamenal okay so I actually said funna funna menal now maybe I'm

actually saying that wrong maybe it's supposed to be "fundamenal" fundamenal

where you actually still pronounce the D a little bit like funda menal but I

don't even do that so who knows maybe I'm saying it wrong but that's how I say

I just say yeah "the funamenal rules of XYZ are blah blah blah" okay so if you

want to speak like me feel free to say that if someone makes fun of you just

tell them to shut up I'm just gonna don't say that don't think you're mean

okay the next example really makes me laugh the word is "probably" okay probably

probably the thing is when I'm speaking quickly I actually don't really say

probably so let me give you an example let's say my sister asks what I'm gonna

do today let's say she says "hey Stefanie whatcha gonna do today?" and

I'll be like I don't know I'll probably go to the store I'll probably call my

friend I will I don't know I'll probably work a little bit so what am I saying

there I'm not saying probably I'm literally

saying prolly like prolly except when I say prolly by itself it sounds

ridiculous it sounds bad but when I'm speaking quickly I'm saying prolly but

I'm saying it very very fast I'm not saying probably I'm saying prolly look

I'll prolly go the store later prolly there's no way I can say

probably that quickly okay so I'm eliminating a ton of sounds so I can get

it out of my mouth fast anyhow I didn't realize how much English speakers reduce

sounds until I started really paying close attention to it for you guys so I

could make more videos like this and I'm realizing yeah we reduce sounds all over

the place so I'm sorry English is really hard but you know you guys are doing

good and the fact that you're watching these videos and you're learning from

them and you're improving your own speech it shows how dedicated you are so

just keep it up okay and by the way that's an extra tip it has nothing to do

with this video but a lot of times you guys say hey keep going like you really

like something and you say "keep going!" in English we don't say "keep going" we

say "keep it up" okay so it means the same thing but that's like the English way of

saying it like I don't want to say the correct way it's just the normal way

okay so keep it up you guys are doing great keep it up next the word

comfortable this is really hard for a lot of non-native English speakers to

pronounce because there's so many syllables okay so listen "comfter-bl"

comfortable comfortable comfortable so what gets confusing right is the M and

the f come-fff com-fff e so we put that together we just say come come come it's really

weird it's it's I don't even know how I'm making that sound come like that

okay come the yeah the M and the F just get squished together so comf just say that

comf usually when I'm working with a student and I say repeat after me and I

just make the sound and then they make it right after me they almost always do

it correctly the problem is doing it correctly in

other situations right you have to develop the muscle memory to be able to

make these sounds quickly in natural conversations so that takes time but if

you just repeat what I say I think you're gonna do pretty well anyhow so

the big problem with this word is you guys tend to separate it and create

syllables that are non-existent and you might say something like comfortable

nobody says that so don't say comfortable okay

just say comfortable comfortable are you comfortable I hope you're comfortable I

hope this video doesn't make you uncomfortable

okay next can vs. can't a lot of you guys have problems with this and you've

asked me to talk about it so that's what I'm gonna do okay can that's can like I

can go can't you can hear the T at the end but the problem is in fast speech we

eliminate the T we just say I can't go so I can't go sounds a lot like I can go

here's how you can tell the difference there's a couple different ways first

can usually has a longer "aaa" sound like we draw it out I can go I can go can't

stops okay I can't go it can't go the A is a lot shorter now

the easier way to tell the difference is just to realize that we rarely say can

drawn out like that we usually say "cn" right so check out this question "hey cn

you go" cn you go cn you go I'm saying cn "cn you go" can you go right it's very

very subtle it's very reduced I'm not saying can at all I'm saying can

you go and then if you say can't you say no I can't go

I can't go so now there's a huge difference between cn and can't ok cn

and can't can you go can you go and can't hopefully that helps you tell the

difference next let me know when I'm talking on the

phone with somebody and I say hey maybe we can do this maybe we can do this let

me know let me know what you think okay I'm not saying LET me know I'm not

saying le' me know I'm saying "L'mmie know" let me know let me know what you

think let me know let me know ok let me know but I'm not even really saying "e"

ok the sound just gets so reduced it's almost not there ok so it's not really

let me know you don't want to say let me know ok and put the stress in the wrong

place just say hey let me know let me know let me know so practice that

practice repeating it right after me and I know that's gonna help you be able to

say it better ok the last one this is actually something that I said to my

husband the other day I was getting up to get myself some tea and I asked him

if he wanted any but I said hey you know "do you want water or tea or anything?" ok I

was asking him if he wanted water or tea or anything that I could get for him ok

and I realized I wasn't saying "or" you know the word or do you want water or

tea or anything I'm saying "er" ok "er" do you want water or tea or

anything and then the water er water er that's kind of a tongue twister so when

I say it quickly I say hey do you want water er tea er

anything water-er-tea water-er-tea water-er-tea it almost just sounds like water

tea right but it's not exactly water-er-tea right you have to fall back on the

"R" again so water-er water-er water water-r water-r water-r do you want water-er-tea

er anything so you guys recognize what I'm saying because you understand

English right you understand the fast speech but you struggle to make it

because you're like what is she actually saying because you know how everything

is spelled and you're just trying to figure out ok wait why doesn't it sound

like that so I'm going to give you some tips now that will hopefully help you

with your pronunciation and your speaking skills so you can start

speaking more fluently combining your words and just sounding

more like a native speaker okay so my first tip for you is the way words sound

changes based on the environment so you have to think of sentences and phrases

as environments that words are in okay so the word or for example when it's by

itself it's not in any kind of environment I'm not really using it in

any specific way I'm just saying the word or and that's why I pronounce it so

clearly but when it gets put into an environment with other words around it

the words around it are going to affect the way that it sounds that's why you

hear me say things like "hey do you want water-er-tea-er anything?" I'm saying or

or is in the sentence the meaning of or is in the sentence but I'm not saying or

so you have to understand that the way words sound changes based on the

environment okay and then recognize this is my second tip recognize that your

ears won't deceive you 99% of the time you know what you're hearing and you're

hearing it correctly but because you're thinking about the way words are spelled

that's what's confusing you 99% of the time that's the case so just realize

that your ears won't deceive you but your eyes will so just be very careful

do not try to learn how words sound by reading them because it won't work

and lastly repeat what you hear right after you hear it so all the examples

that I gave in this video you should repeat them right after you hear them

because that's what's gonna help you say them correctly instantly right you hear

it you say it you hear you say it and 99% of the time when I do this with

students they say it correctly right after me the trouble is getting that new

sound into your long-term memory so that's gonna take repetition and

practice and then bonus tip I wasn't even gonna include this but I just

thought of it don't get frustrated with fast speech okay just really listen to

what you hear and practice shadowing practice shadowing my videos say what I

say say how I say it practice my intonation patterns you know my voice

goes up and down etc practice all of that and soon

start feeling really natural to you alright guys the last thing that I want

to say is that it's really helpful to practice your English with native

speakers and I'm sure you know this already maybe you have trouble finding

native speakers and you really wish you could practice with people and so I made

a guide for you that will help you meet native English speakers and be able to

practice with them and you can download it it's in the links in the description

lots of people have downloaded this guide already and they found it to be

very helpful so practicing with native English speakers is definitely not the

only way to practice and improve your English but it really helps right

because you can listen to the way that they talk you can talk with someone like

me you can listen to them and respond to them directly and practice imitating

them like if they say a word you can repeat it back to them in the next

sentence anyhow like I said I have a guide on my website that's about

practicing your English with native speakers how to meet native English

speakers online and you can go ahead and download it the link is in the

description okay guys that's it for this video let me know if you liked it feel

free to give it a thumbs up and also comment which of these phrases are

difficult for you to pronounce what kinds of videos do you want me to keep

making how are you doing with your English what do you want to improve let

me know in the comments because I read every single one ok that's it guys I'll

see you in another video bye

now that's probably that's probably I just said probably that's probably ugh now I'm

getting tongue-tied okay the sound it just gets so reduced it's

just like a "uhhhhhhhhh" it's just like a hard to say to learn maybe I don't know but when I

start saying it quickly the sound changes a little bit so I don't say

"comfortable" comfortable?... Yeah I do! what am I talking about? Sorry.
