"Watch Therefore"
where we'll be discussing Bible Prophecy
being fulfilled even today.
And the fact that we all need to be
living ready,
because the next event on the calendar is
the Rapture, when Yeshua will come back for His children.
Dov Schwarz will be on location,
as well as Chaim Malespin.

right at this desk, Dr. Mark Hitchcock.
Today, Dov will be teaching and discussing Matthew 24,
When is Yeshua Returning and when is the End of the World?
Now let's go to Israel for a Lesson on the Fig Tree.
As Israel is blossoming all around us in this generation
it's so important to understand
the Words of Messiah Yeshua
found in the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 24.
Beginning in Verse 32 He says,
Is this the "Fig Tree Generation" that we live in today?
What is the fig tree?
Well in Joel Chapter 1,
and the reason I say "Joel Chapter 1" is
I believe the best interpreter of the Bible is the Bible.
And in Joel Chapter 1 verses 6 and 7
the Lord calls Israel "His Fig Tree".
And the Fig Tree is blossoming in this generation.
100 years ago,
500 years ago,
1,000 - 1,500 years ago,
no Israel.
Our Generation the "Fig Tree" blossomed.
And so what does our Savior tell us?
He says that when you see this happen
you know all these things are going to take place.
What things?
Well...
He speaks of 4 birth pangs.
He speaks of the Great Tribulation
such as the world has never seen.
He speaks of the Days of Noah.
We live in that time.
How do we know?
Because at the same time you see these signs
you'll see the "Fig Tree" blossoming
showing us that we are that generation.
If you drive through Israel in areas
that not long ago were either a desert or a swamp,
now, The Fig Tree is blossoming.
WOW!
If Bible teachers from 100 years ago were alive today
they would be running about the streets
shaking our shoulders saying, Do you know what this means?
Do you know who we are?
We're the generation.
All these things, we're the generation
that will see Messiah Yeshua come through the clouds,
and sit on the Throne of David in Jerusalem.
Oh, you're a very important person,
that you've been chosen to be here in this generation.
And when we come back we'll talk about that word "generation".
What does that mean?

Yeshua could have used any kind of tree
to illustrate His point,
thousands of trees!
Why did He choose the Fig Tree?
Because Joel 1:7, Hosea 9:10
identifies Israel as a fruit tree.
It's God's fruit tree,
and just as a tree loses it's leaves in the fall,
has a dormant winter,
produces leaves in the Spring,
and then puts more fruit on,
just as that, Israel has produced for us a Messiah.
His Name is Yeshua,
and He was crucified,
laid in a grave,
now sits at the right hand of God the Father,
and Israel has become dormant for 2,000 years.
They're going to come back in the Land,
God is going to put leaves back on there,
they're going to have fruit,
and the ultimate fruit is
that Messiah returning to rule and reign as King.
Israel is going to give us both the Messiah and the King.
The signs we are seeing right now,
are telling of Yeshua's eminent, soon return.
And I think sometimes we tend to focus more
on the bad and the negative the scary that is coming,
rather than all the good that's about to happen.
It really is a good lesson to concentrate on the good,
but right now let's go back to Israel
to hear a report from Chaim Malespin.
Here we are in Jerusalem at the Museum of the Bible,
the Bible Museum home of the Qumran Cave Scrolls, the Dead Sea Scrolls.
I'm here with Elon, an expert on the Bible.
Elon, what do we have here in this Museum?
Okay, here in the Shrine of the Book
we have the oldest copy of the Old Testament.
Until 1947 the oldest copy of the Old Testament
was about 1,000 years old.
And then, in 1947 a Bedouin boy
found in the caves by the Dead Sea
the group of scrolls that were the first ones,
and many scrolls that were found in 11 caves around Qumran,
and they display the scrolls over here in this Museum.
The fact that the scrolls were found in 1947 is
also very symbolic because the scrolls were found at the
same time that the State of Israel was born.
And what a better present Israel could get for the birth of the State of Israel.
For 2,000 years the scrolls were in the cave,
and it was only a short time
before the Declaration of Independence we found the scrolls.
So the scrolls were there in the caves waiting
for the people of Israel to return to the Land.

but first, I wanted to ask
if you've ever thought about
what it takes to put this program together.
I can assure you it's a lot more than just lights, camera, action.
There's a lot of prayer and planning.
Our family is a lot like yours.
We pray, and we plan,
and we hope that you'll be praying for us,

We don't know the day or the hour,
but we can, through the license
of Scripture know the Season.
And what is the way we know the Season?
The generation that sees this will know
that Summer, a Season, is near.
And then he goes on and says,
everything that this generation sees will
be fulfilled by the generation that witnesses it.
We're talking about the generation that sees "The Fig Tree" blossom.
Why?
Well, first off, our Messiah Yeshua told us to.
He said, "Now learn."
When I hear "Now learn" from the Lord
I think I better pay attention.
"Now learn this parable from the fig tree."
"When you see it blossom you know that summer's near."
"This Generation will not pass away"
"till all these things come to pass."
What things?
The time of Great Tribulation where the world will shake,
a troubled generation that has never taken place in the history of humanity.
That's how bad it will be.
In a moment I've got some good news.
Yet we need to understand,
this is going to be the most difficult
generation in the history of humanity.
And it will culminate with our King,
our Messiah-Mashiach Yeshua-Jesus Christ
returning to the earth to sit on the throne of David.
Now, He says that this Generation will not pass away.
And so many are confused about the word "Generation"
But I think I have got a good answer here.
If I would ask you, Define the word "running"
what you'd have to understand is the context first.
Would that be a sprinter on a track?
Would that be my refrigerator?
Would that be my nose when I have a cold?
No, the context makes a difference.
Is there a place in the Bible where the context,
the word "Generation" is used in,
refers to the Jewish people being out of the nations
and being brought back to the Land?
Because that's the context of the fig tree blossoming.
The Jews were in the Diaspora and the Nation of Israel was birthed.
And they're back now and they're still coming.
Is there a place where the word "generation" is used that way in the Bible?
There's one,
and it's so prominent.
It's our Father Abraham being spoken to by the Lord
in Genesis Chapter 15.
Listen to this, it's so powerful.
Here we see biblically in the context of the Jews
being out of the Land and then being brought back.
400 years is 4 generations.
If 400 years is 4 generations
how long is 1 generation?
100 years...
100 years.
WOW!
So how do I apply that to the fig tree blossoming?
Israel becoming a nation?
It's a great question.
How can we know?
Or is it okay to say that we can know the
generation of the coming of our Lord?
Isn't that what our Messiah told us to know?
These are questions we're going to answer when we come back.
And what we need to do is watch and be ready in "The Fig Tree Generation".
So what we see unfolding right now
in Israel, in the Middle East,
and around the world, I believe,
is setting the stage for the prophetic events predicted
in Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11,
Psalm 83, when it talks about
the entire Arab nation coming up against the Jewish State of Israel,
but God has other plans.
In the End Times, in Zechariah Chapter 12,
when the Jewish people come back into the Land of Israel,
the least of them will be like David.
We know that the Bible says, "Saul's slain his thousands, but David his 10 thousands!".
So in that, we have the statement that there is
going to be this incredible, powerful military.
And I find it very interesting,
A spokesman for ISIS recently said,
We fear no military on the earth but one,
Israel.

Right on the "Jesus Boat",
right on the Sea of Galilee,

And as the sun was setting, Oh my goodness,
we got to sing, "It is Well with my Soul",
and the Sea was peaceful.
The peace was right there.

so you can pick up some Hebrew to use
when you go on a tour in the Holy Land.
Shalom Haverim
One of the more fun words you're going to hear, here in Israel
is the word L'Chaim ,
and we use it when we toast in celebration,
L'Chaim , it means "To Life"
Do you remember the movie, "Fiddler on the Roof?
and Friday night when he sings,
"To Life, To Life, " L'Chaim !"
Now every Shabbat when we gather round as a family
my children, and husband and I,
we take our glasses,
and after we bless the wine,
before we drink we toast our glasses together
and everybody scrambles around the table
to try and get each glass toasted.
So this week, as you toast,
or as you gather to celebrate the Shabbat,
maybe you can add this tradition to your family,
and say "To Life!", " L'Chaim ! ",
from my family to yours.
I love this great positive word that I think we heard
in Israel quite a bit on the street, right?
The word is " Chai "
and then this is the cheer, "To Life!"
Let's try it.
L'Chaim !
Did you ever watch "Fiddler on the Roof"?
Long time ago.
Long movie,
but it's a good movie.
Do you remember the song?
"To Life, To Life L'Chaim !"
" L'Chaim , L'Chaim To Life!
I don't know the rest of the words,
but I do know the " L'Chaim " part.
It's a great word!
One more toast, do it again.
To Life! Cheers
" L'Chaim !"
Right now let's go back to our
teaching on location with Dove Schwarz.
Israel, "The Fig Tree" is blossoming all around us.
You may even hear the sounds of construction.
Everywhere you go in Israel there's building and expansion.
That's because we're in "The Fig Tree Generation".
And I spoke a little while about the generation being 100 years.
We found that out from the Father of our Faith,
Father Abraham in Genesis Chapter 15.
And in Genesis 15 as we understand that this is "The Fig Tree Generation"
we know that we need to be ready because Messiah Yeshua told us,
"This Generation will not pass away"
"till all these things take place."
What all things?
All the trouble that's coming in the Great Tribulation
and the coming of Messiah Yeshua to sit on the Throne of David,
"The Messianic Age".
This time is winding down folks.
Now I've heard scoffers say, and II Peter tells us there will be scoffers,
that's another sign.
You don't want to fulfill Bible Prophecy that way.
That's another sign of this Generation.
They say, well the Lord said to His disciples,
"No, it's not for you to know the times and seasons of His coming.
Well, let me explain something.
Yes, He was talking to them at that time,
and they were expecting the Messianic Age to come in then.
They didn't understand "going out to the nations with the Gospel."
It wasn't time for them to know.
But later, the Apostle Paul is out with the Gospel in the nations.
And he explains to the Thessalonians and others the times and seasons.
And he says this in I Thessalonians Chapter 5.
He says,
That you'll walk in darkness.
And so, don't walk in darkness in this generation.
King Yeshua's coming!
And we need to be ready.
He says, watch therefore and be ready.
He repeats it in Matthew 24,
Mark 13, Luke 21.
He repeats "Watch therefore and be ready"
Are you ready?
Are you ready for the coming of our Great King?
He says the wise and faithful servant is
watching for the Master to come
and doing what the Master commanded.
Are you ready?
He says that He will come in the clouds for His people.
I want to comfort you with this.
King Yeshua is coming for us in the clouds any moment.
And He commands us to be ready.
If you don't know, that you know that you know,
that He's changed your heart,
and made you a new creation in Messiah Yeshua.
Now's the time to cry out to Him,
Oh Messiah Jesus, forgive me, save me.
I believe you died on the Cross for my sins,
you were buried and on the 3rd day rose again.
Forgive me of my sins and save me.
I want to turn away from my way and go Your Way.
I want to live a life that honors our Father, " Abba ", "Father" in Heaven.
And if you don't know that's happened to you know this,
this Generation will not pass away till all these things come to pass.
And He sets before us life and death.
And He really wants us to choose life.
I encourage you today,
call upon the Name of the Lord.
And if you already have,
and you know you're born again,
you know you're a follower of Messiah Yeshua,
follow Him with everything in you in this Generation.
Oh Father in Heaven, in Messiah Yeshua's Name
Thank you for Your kindness, goodness, richness and love for us
to show us who we are in this Generation,
as Your Kingdom is blossoming all around us,
yet there's great trouble coming,
You show us we need to be ready.
Oh thank you Father in Heaven, in Messiah Yeshua's Name, Amen.
Now that is for you and that's for me.
His love and that His ears are always open to our prayers.
Be ready,
the King is coming.

We are back today with Pastor Hitchcock,
and we are excited to hear more about
your input on prophecy,
what's going on right now.
especially in Israel.
I put out a question on social media,
because I think it's very interesting,
this whole generation shall not pass.
And I put that question out and I asked,
What do you think Yeshua-Jesus meant with this generation?
And I mean, we had 30 year, 40 year, 100 year,
people back then, people in the future.
You're the prophecy expert.
What is your thought on the word "generation"?
Before He talks about
this generation won't pass away,
Jesus introduces the Parable of the fig tree.
And as Dove was talking about,
many people take that to be the Nation of Israel,
because so many times in the Old Testament
Israel is pictured as a fig tree.
So when they say, "The fig tree begins to blossom" here,
that's when Israel became a Nation in 1948,
and then Jesus goes on and says,
And they take that to be the generation
that saw the blossoming of the Nation of Israel in 1948.
Others will take this generation here to be
the generation that's alive during the time
of the Tribulation period,
In other words...
So once that starts.
Once that starts, that generation,
because He likens it to birth pangs,
in other words, once they see those birth pangs,
and the Tribulation period,
they're not going to stop.
And so that future generation won't pass away
until all those things have been fulfilled.
But whichever view you take,
everyone agrees, at least all the prophecy teachers I know agree,
that Israel is the super sign of the End Times.
So many prophecies in the Bible hinge
on the Jewish people being back in their Land.
For instance, the event that begins the 7 year Tribulation period
is the anti-Christ, this coming world ruler
signing a 7 year treaty, or enforcing a 7 year treaty
with the many in the Nation of Israel.
Well he can't do that if they're not in the Land.
Right
Also, the Bible talks about this invasion of Gog and Magog.
In Ezekiel 38 and 39 these invaders coming into the Land of Israel
to try to crush the Jewish people.
Again, that can't happen if the Jewish people aren't in the Land.
So, whatever view one takes of the fig tree or this generation,
we all agree that Israel is this super sign, the key sign,
and that 1948 was a critical date really on God's prophetic time clock.
And if people are thinking
30 to 40 year kind of Americanized generation,
that's already gone.
That would have happened in the 80's.
We have all the books,
"1984", and the different years
people are thinking this is the time.
So how do we translate that into every day?
The series is "Watch Therefore".
How do we keep watch?
What should we be looking for?
My thought is, look with Israel back in the Land,
and all the things we see happening in our world today,
we have every reason to believe that Jesus
could come back at any moment.
And we need to live that way.
And we never want to get caught up on dates,
40 years, 60 years, 80 years, I don't think.
We need to be living as if Jesus could come back at any moment.
In fact, he says here in Matthew 24 a little bit further on,
he says, that the Son of Man is coming
at a time you don't think he will.
And I remember a great story,
Robert Murray McCheyne, the great preacher,
had a bunch of Pastors gathered,
and he went around asking all of them,
Do you think Jesus is going to come back tonight?
And every one of them said, No, they didn't.
And he quoted that verse, and he said,
"The Son of Man is going to come at a time that you don't think He will."
And I think there's a lot of people that
just kind of go through life today
so busy and harried with all the things of life,
they never take time to stop and watch,
and to wait for the coming of Jesus Christ,
that could take place at any moment.
Well, your Dad had a great story about
the "Watch Therefore".
The was probably 45 years ago,
and I remember as a child hearing him
tell the story from the pulpit,
from Los Angeles, California
where he Pastored.
Had quite a few strange folks knock on his door
with lots of different thoughts that they had.
One was a lady, pounded on his door
and said, Pastor Hart, we're in trouble!
Tomorrow, I believe the Lord told me,
he's coming back tomorrow!
And my dad stopped her and said,
I believe he's coming back today.
So really, we don't have any idea when that day's going to be,
but always be ready, correct?
That's right, Amen.
That's right, great.
Right now let's go to a song.
