Waching daily Feb 2 2018

Here to teach you guys how I have my video and photo settings on the Sony

a6500 stay tuned through the whole video to see all my settings. So on the sony

a6500 I'm on manual over here so, I run things pretty straight forward I change

things based on the location of my shooting so if I'm shooting and

depending on when I'm shooting I change how the settings are based on the

location for the best possible image and then if we go to our first custom 1

and then the custom 2 will be next this is my 4k 24 fps so you can see over

here the first thing I want to point out it's 24P 60 and then these I just keep

them for how it is that a 1/60 f1.8 and then ISO is auto but I usually change

that depending on the scene of them on my actual shooting so let's actually go

into the menu over here for the first preset. As you can see once we get into

the menu I do my file format is XAVC s 4k and like I said before it's 24 P 60 M

and that is actually the super 35 mm option that's the crop, and then there

are other options here but I just prefer the 4k option over here and then auto

focus tracks sense is responsive and then everything else is a default I'm

pretty sure. I keep the zebras off because I don't want to have a

distraction if we go to our number 2. I had this is my 120P and 60 again this

is just around though I just changed that every single time I get on to this

mode. Let's go to the menu and let's go into the shooting.

The file format is XAVC S HD and

120 P and 60 M this is actually not the super 35-millimeter crop pretty

much everything else is again left on to the default setting

I don't really change much I really like stuff they're putting in as a default

and then let me just go to the color profiles so I forgot to show you guys in

the first one I'm still on the second one and color profile that I'm using here, if I

just find it there it is color profile using color profile six so if we go

press outside of the ISO button I'm using the color gamut "Cine2" and the color

mode is "PRO" and this is for color gamma for now, probably changed soon and

then the "pro" again color mode that's what I feel is the best for me. Then

for number 1 I'm gonna go menu and

color profile I keep that off. Like I said in a previous video I

keep it as RAW as I can because then I just change colors after in post-production

if I had to but otherwise this camera does pretty good image. So that's pretty

much it those are my two custom film settings that's how I actually film on

the sony a6500 and my "1" is my 4k and my slow-mo 1080p is my number "2" and

then I just left these default for now my focus settings are in

"c2" right here and "c1" is my white balance so I just can't keep things

default I definitely will be changing these things shortly and I'll make sure

to show you guys updates of that but for now this is how my a6500

looks when I film and also take manual photos I don't use any of these, apart from Pano,

trying to get into that it looks pretty cool but manual is what I do at

all times

How Passionflix Got It's Start by Co-Founder & CEO Tosca Musk - Duration: 7:02.

Film Courage: When did the idea for Passionflix begin?

Passionflix Co-Founder and CEO, Tosca Musk: The idea for Passionflix came about was actually Joany's

idea.

Joany Kane is our founding partner.

She had the idea quite a few years ago.

When FIFTY SHADES OF GREY came out, she was wondering why there isn't a place for romance

novels that had been turned into movies when the movie was such a success.

So she actually got the URL (passionflix.com) and said "I'm going to do this."

And then many years later nothing happened to it.

Until one New Year's Even she decided I'm going to make it happen and she booked a flight

to Los Angeles.

And it just so happens that Joany and I had met a few months prior.

She had watched a movie of mine on Aeon [Network] called YOU CAST A SPELL ON ME.

And she contacted me the next day and said "I absolutely loved your movie.

I loved how you directed that movie and I would really love it if you would take one

of my movies and direct that."

And normally you get a lot of people that solicit you and normally you're like "No,

I'm going to ignore that."

But her note was so sweet and she was just so open in her communication to me that I

was like "Okay, let me have a look at the script."

And I was like "Oh!

She can really write.

She's a good writer.

So let's meet."

So we tried to bring that movie to a network but no one would buy it because it was a little

too sensual, it was a little to risqué, it has a little and it had to do with magic and

that doesn't really work well with network television.

So that didn't work.

But when she came over that February, we say down and had lunch with her other partner

Jina [Panebianco].

And over tunafish sandwiches she told us this thought that she had a Passionflix and we

said "Great!

It's a great idea."

And we literally started the next day on basically creating the company, the business plan, put

together a full proposal and think about how are we going to do all of this.

But then I spent the next few months raising money and it took about a year to raise the

money and then optioned books and made our first feature last March.

Long answer!

Film Courage: That's interesting, so you had never really known Joany (and that's

her name, right?) previously it was just that initial email and you just kind of went on

a gut feeling that "Wow!

This is someone I want to work with."

Tosca Musk: So the answer is yes.

I didn't know Joany very well at all except for the communication we had on the one screenplay

that she'd written and that screenplay was good.

And as a director when you get to work with a screenwriter and they are open to your comments

and your notes and they adjust your screenplay according to how you see it as a filmmaker,

that collaboration just forms a deep partnership to begin with.

So I didn't know her personally.

I'd never met her in person until February but we'd work together by email and phone

calls for a few months prior to that.

And so as a filmmaker I knew her well.

Film Courage: Okay so then you raised was it 4.7 million in seed funding?

Tosca Musk: 4.75.

Film Courage: 4.75!

Okay.

Tosca Musk: 4,753,000.

Film Courage: Good to know.

Can you briefly tell us how this happened?

Did you have specific people in mind you know you wanted to approach?

Tosca Musk: So that was the difficult part.

Firstly, I'm related to a lot of people that have raised a lot of people (which is

helpful).

And so I went to them for advice, what do I do?

Who do you approach?

And they basically said everybody.

You just go to anybody.

You just constantly tell what they idea is to every single person that you meet and somebody

is going to say "Hey, I have somebody who is going to be interested in that."

And that's what happened.

I literally just went to every single person that I knew that had any ability to invest

and "I said this is the idea, this is what I'd like to do, do you have any advice for

me and would you be interested in coming on board?"

And some people came on board with $5,000, some people came on board with $50,000.

So they weren't huge amounts but everybody that I spoke to wanted to participate because

they think they idea is really good.

Film Courage: I'm always wondering how that happens?

Is it a long email?

Is it a phone call?

Is it when you see them at an event?

Tosca Musk: It's all of those things.

So I will take the opportunity to tell people about Passionflix every single place that

I go.

So it will be at a coffeeshop when I'm wearing a Passionflix t-shirt and I will tell the

people there.

It will be at a lunch, it will be at an event.

I don't send long emails because most of the people you are dealing with don't have

time to read long emails and they'll ignore them.

So short and to the point with very specific information in it and what you want.

What it is that you are looking to do, what it is that you want and I'm happy to provide

you with any further supportive documents for you to review this.

That was basically what I do.

I'm about to do it again because we need to do another raise.

Film Courage: Is this similar to raising money for a film?

Or are they two separate animals?

Tosca Musk: Raising money for a film, it is different.

Because here I'm raising money for a company that is a distribution company that has an

overall goal, which is to empower women through emotional strength while at the same time

owns multiple movies.

So we are not making one movie, we are making 50.

So if you invest in Passionflix you get a part of all 50 movies that we own forever.

Should the company not do well as a distribution company you still have all these assets and

you're able to sell them and hopefully we'll make that $50,000 back (I'm sure we will).

So that's why it's not a difficult ask when it comes to investment because when you're

looking for an investment in one single picture, it's basically saying "Hi, I have a movie

I want to make.

I'm going to spend 3 million dollars on this movie.

Can you give me some money?

And hopefully everybody else likes this movie and I can get a distributor and I can get

it into the theaters or get it into DVD or some foreign market.

Hopefully we'll make our money back and then you can get your 20%."

That's the individual filmmaking side.

Which is a different beast and there are a lot of people that want to invest that way,

specifically in California or in the U.S.

What I mean is there's tax write-offs that are involved, there's all these different

things that are positive for investors to invest in individual films but that's not

what we're looking for.

Cherish by Nspire Network home demo presented by Edward Jones part 2 - Duration: 5:42.

Cherish by Nspire Network home demo presented by Edward Jones part 2 as seen on the Kathy Ireland show.

hey everybody this is Edward Jones I appreciate you coming to my live it's

your health do something. Today I'm just going to

give you a quick demonstration about the extraordinary dryness and comfort of the

cherish premium sanitary napkin we're gonna it's gonna simulate this

particular woman members her best friend she's in a meeting or on the plane as

well and she has to wear her sanitary napkin for eight hours as well through

the day and I do know from talking to many women many women that you women do

change more often than men you know you don't wear eight hours during the day

and the reason for that is when you feel your feminine flow you know you feel

like you know you where it's uncomfortable you have to go change it's

completely understandable so women may change three four five six

seven eight times through a date that's why when you go to the store and

purchase just leading brand you end up getting a package a huge bundle you have

to change so much right now what I want to change this in the formulation of the

leading brand right here this is the leading brand in the formulation of this

one what it does is it gives up like I told you earlier some chemical

byproducts chemical rock byproducts are not good for your system so when you go

to sit down or stand up you know insist fluids touching body being it goes back

into your system one thing I want you to look into is dioxin that's one of the

products it has given out through the bleaching process to make the leading

brand white okay now she responds for our network does not give off any type

of chemical fumes or anything now let's go ahead to do with the drive

this test I don't want to keep you long you may be only a lunch break Oh what so

this is the leading brand this is just a regular napkin see it's regular nap

gonna take we're gonna place this on the leading brand I'm gonna press

Prince okay impressed and just what you expected what happened

tapping ladies look at it can you see that it's wet

you see if I get a good camera angle on that for you there you see that wetness

that's what women have to face and that's what you're exposed to that's why

I have to change off and it's completely understandable now I'm going to take

another napkin and place it on cherish my inspire network and the press and I'm

a press key here me pressing I'll hold do to take anything look press and press

completely dry ladies completely dry completely dry so if you had a choice

between and you do have a choice now that's what I'm trying to get you to

understand between being wet or being dry throughout the day which one would

you choose seems like a no-brainer choose to dry now what I'm gonna do is

in the interest of time I'm going to put these two cups right here I'm going to

go right down to the absorbency layer of each sanitary napkin on the leading

brands right here this absorbency layer that it looks like nice and fluffy and

white like cotton that's not cotton what that is is we start recycled trash

newspapers cardboard boxes that are missing through an eighth stage

bleaching process and turn white it's fully and make you think this clean it's

not clean its own trash and if our product is given up by that bleaching

process product process is dioxin that's why I want you to go to a site such as

way of end MD where MD calm and look up dioxin di Oh Xin I

I'm gonna take this a pleurisy system from the leading brand I'm gonna roll it

up oh these two cups of water here as you can see one has more liquid in it

than the other other this one has 50 milliliters back like before this one

has about 75 80 milliliters as you can see there's a lot more liquid and this

one put them right back here in front it okay

matter of fact they put a piece of paper under but make sure that you can see

them clearly that's better you can definitely see that one has more

more liquid in it than the other all right so like some take the floor assist

system from the leading eight-hour pad that women use all the time and place it

in the cup with the least amount of liquid let's get it down in there okay

yes this here this is the bottom layer of the leading brand it's just a plastic

bag yesterday plastic look i stretches it holds antique heat hosing the

moisture for me having your feminine flow perfect breeding ground for

bacteria

Peachy Makeup - How to do a Glowy Peachy Day Makeup - Duration: 5:17.

Hi, I'm Monica of monicamakeup.ca and in this video

I'm going to show you how I do a glowy peachy day makeup.

I'll be showing you step-by-step from start to finish how to achieve this look with some insider tips throughout.

Still interested? Let's get started!

To start off with I always use a base and my favorite go-to is TimeCheck lotion by MAC Cosmetics

With the 170 brush. The 170 brush is

very similar in texture to the Beauty Blender

Because it's really tightly

Packed bristles really help to buff in

Your creams, your foundation, even powder into the skin, so it looks super natural.

I'll list all the skincare products I've used down below in the comment section.

We'll move on to what I'm working on right now is the eye shadow.

Here's a tip if you want your eyeshadow and your lip color and your foundation

Basically your entire makeup to last you have to use some sort of primer because over time

Throughout the day your natural oils do come out of the skin and start to break down the makeup so if you ever wondered

Why

Your eyeshadows creasing, Why your lipstick is feathering

Into your upper lip that's why. So what I'm doing here

now is using a highlighter pen which I'll list down below and again it's from MAC Cosmetics.

I'm using it anywhere where I want to brighten.

So the top of the bridge of the nose, upper lip, the middle of the chin, and especially under my eyes because I'm always tired!

So, you just buff that in with a really fluffy brush to make it super light and remember always

Use a light hand. If you're going to be

pressing that brush into your skin you're basically moving and shifting the makeup all over the place and you're not going to get the coverage

You want.

That's another tip for you.

Now I'm buffing in

C40 full coverage cream foundation from MAC and

again, I'm tapping it into the skin. Now, you don't want to be blending it back and forth it

just won't give you the coverage you want particularly with this brush so again tap-tap-tap,

swiping is for the phone!

Here's another tip:

When you've completed your foundation, concealer, eye shadow,

the last thing you want to do is powder. Now if you've got drier skin you may just need to

strategically place it in areas that

tend to get oilier so for me, it's mostly t-zone, but I buff it

all over the skin just so that it has more longevity throughout the day and

usually, I only ever have to touch up my nose with a blot powder.

To really make this peachy day makeup come to life, it's definitely all about the cheek color, and so I'm using right now,

the Becca Cosmetics,

Chrissy Teigen special edition palette and as you can tell I'm pretty diggin it.

Pretty digging it? What am I saying?

There's a bronzer,

there's a highlighter and I sort of mix them all together as

Well as a contour powder. So now I'm moving on to as you can see

trying to contour my nose a little bit

I'm not gonna lie, I probably applied a little bit too much contour powder! This is Shadester when my favourite of all time

So hence I used a bit of

powder, Mineralized powder most likely to buff out the edges, and then I've also used a

highlighting powder to highlight the tops of the cheekbones.

Here's another tip:

You don't necessarily need to always have a winged liner

And I know a lot of makeup artists love to do it! It looks amazing! For me, for this particular look

I'm just lining the inner waterline of the upper lash line, just helps to make the lashes look a bit thicker.

It doesn't take away from the real focus here for this makeup which is a peachy glowy day look.

Here's another tip:

If you want your upper lip line to look a little bit fuller try lining it from the outer corners in towards the Cupid's bow.

It's just the

angle of it, it just helps to round it out a bit more.

Here I'm using Stud Eye Brow Pencil from MAC and just

basically following the natural hairline and

penciling in short little strokes to fill in any gaps.

If you don't already have one you need to get an angle brush!

This is definitely a must if you want to have natural looking brows,

natural-looking eyeliner. It's the best for blending out and

keeps everything looking super clean and natural.

This pretty much marks the completion of this glowy peachy day makeup.

Chicken-mu (Pickled radish: 치킨무) - Duration: 8:09.

(knife chopping)

(upbeat music)

- Hi, everybody.

Today, we are going to make some special side dish.

Very easy and simple.

This is side dish for Korean chicken,

Korean fired chicken, yangnyeom-tongdak, dakgangjeong,

or with Korean roasted chicken.

So, we call this even chicken mu.

Mu is a radish in Korean.

So, chicken mu, or pickled radish, or mu pickle,

this side dish is never served as a side dish for rice.

It's only served with the chicken.

This pickled radish is so easy that I thought

that I don't have to make this into a recipe video,

but I met a couple of my readers,

They really have requested this recipe.

"Maangchi, I go to a Korean chicken place,

and they serve this white cubed radish.

It's like sweet and sour. Can you upload the video?"

So, I decide to make it.

First, we have to find the real good quality radish.

Sometimes, radish is not good,

and I just give up making because the radish

should be really juicy, firm, sweet, and crispy.

Usually, the peak time for radish is late fall,

but sometimes you can find really good quality radish,

even though it's not its peak time.

The other day, I went to a Korean market,

I found really, really nice, beautiful, gorgeous radish!

Here you go.

I love all of these three radishes.

You see the green part? More green part than white part,

that means sweet, and also it should be really firm.

When you just press it just a little bit,

it should be firm, and the skin is shiny, and smooth.

This is a real Korean radish, and nice, good-looking radish.

Sometimes, really, plump one like this.

Oh, by the way, if Korean radish is not available,

use daikon, you know, daikon is also good.

Very fresh, and very tender,

but Korean radish is more sweet.

Sometimes, it's very cute, like this!

a really small size, less than one pound.

This is, I think, more than four pounds, it's really heavy.

I would choose this guy

because it's very handsome and good-looking.

First, I cut off the top. (knife chopping)

And then, around one pound. Maybe this-- this amount.

(crunching knife chopping)

I'm going to make it with one pound.

So, one pound of radish.

One pound and three ounces.

I'm going to peel off the skin,

so probably it will be one pound exactly.

(metal clanking)

Good tip for you! Don't throw away,

this radish skin is very clean

because I washed it. Just add to your stock,

to make it sweet.

I'll just put it here, later I will use. Now we have one pound of radish.

Then, I'll just cut it into cubes.

Before cutting, I'll just make brine.

1/3 cup sugar.

This is white vinegar,

1/3 cup (liquid sloshing)

plus 1 tablespoon of vinegar.

So, this is sweet and sour, we needed some salt.

1 tablespoon salt.

Just mix together.

Water, I'll add 3/4 cup.

Half a cup plus quarter cup.

This is sweet, sour, and a little salty brine.

And mix well until all are well dissolved.

And then, let's cut. Around 1/3 inch,

between 1/3 inch to 1/4 inch

Cubed radish: pickled radish

should be very small.

Sometimes, I see big chunks. It's not tasty.

Big chunks are for kkakdugi, kkakdugi, radish kimchi.

But, for this one, it should be really small-sized pices.

So that they easily absorb the brine.

(knife chopping)

Cubed!

(knife chopping)

I'll make these 2.

(knife chopping)

So, this is 1 pound of radish, all cubed.

When you go to a Korean fried chicken place,

you have to order separately. Sometimes it's very expensive.

for just a small bowl,

you know, more than 3 dollars. Expensive!

And then, (sloshing noise) mix all together.

You can put it in air-tight container, close the lid,

and refrigerate it . Around 12 hours later,

it will be more delicious because all are pickled and

the brine is absorbed, but you can start eating

just in a couple of hours. That's what I'm doing.

But, it has to be really, really cold and refreshing.

If this is not cold, not tasty, isn't it?

(cheerful music)

To eat this pickled radish,

I'm making dakgangjeong, Korean fried chicken.

(sizzling noise)

(cheerful music)

Today's recipe is mu pickle, radish pickle,

but I made this dakgangjeong,

Korean fried chicken, and I wanna show you

how you guys can enjoy dakgangjeong more than before,

with this radish pickle.

And also I like to have this with my coke.

Chicken, coke, high calories, but I don't care,

because this is delicious. Once in a while it's okay, isn't it?

(crunching noise)

Mmm. Mmm! (chewing noise)

(slurping noise)

Wow, so cold and good! Radish pickle, let's eat.

(crunching noise)

After one bite of chicken, then radish pickle,

it will make you really feel refreshing,

because sweet and sour with a really crispy texture,

they really go well together.

Whoever invented this radish pickle,

he or she must be so genius.

On and on I keep, keep eating.

Today, we made radish pickle,

it's always served with Korean fried chicken,

or roasted chicken.

By the way, my next recipe video

will be roasted chicken, which has a longer history

than this kind of Korean fried chicken.

Enjoy my recipe, see you next time! Bye!

How I fractured my wrist, and what happens now? - Duration: 5:54.

It was just a numbers game.

For the last few years I've been so focused on progressing that, I started getting used

to gambling with my body.

And it's true, I've walked away from so many crashes that the working assumption was

that I'd always bail just in time.

After all, I'm Seth's motherfreaking bike hacks.

Yes, I did suffer a separated shoulder which will look like this forever, but that was

soft tissue damage.

This is my first skeletal injury ever, and it actually could have been a lot worse.

Let's talk about how and why it happened, and what its implications are.

On Saturday I visited Grapefruit trails as the first stop on my Florida trip.

The plan was to meet with Patrons for a really casual day of hitting jumps, grilling up hot

dogs, and having some laughs.

As you can see, things were going perfectly.

Grapefruit trails is a community freeride park in Palm Bay.

With really sandy soil and basically no elevation, the place has taken a massive amount of ingenuity

to build and maintain.

It's an inspiration to any community that doesn't have a place to ride.

In fact, the locals sometimes rely on better dirt trucked in from the outside.

While many of the jump surfaces at grapefruit are bolstered with carpet, the BMX jumps at

the back are as firm and grippy as any I've ever seen.

This is important, because I was riding my single speed hardtail.

I had it set up for singletrack, with 30 PSI in the tires.

And I should have been running double that.

While carving left on the lip, my front tire folded under.

This happens when lateral force is applied to your wheel.

If the ground doesn't give, your tire will.

So halfway up the lip, I lost all my speed and smeashed straight into the backside of

the landing.

This is the hand that took most of the impact.

I knew I had hit the ground really hard, but I couldn't tell if I was hurt yet.

We went back to the trailhead to grill hot dogs and take a breather.

Other than not riding, I was all but ignoring my injury.

After all, I would be back on my bike within a week—I was sure of it.

So after lunch I went back in to film the locals.

As the day wore on, I started to suspect that something might be wrong.

Although I could hold the camera with my right hand, my left hurt so badly that I couldn't

even get my cell phone out of my pocket.

I decided to wrap things up and maybe get it checked out.

The fractures were in my radius.

That's the larger of the two bones in your forearm.

One was hairline, while the other had a pretty significant gap, not quite big enough to require

surgery.

The doctor said I could return to jumping couches by 3 months, with light trail riding

a little sooner than that.

For now, I'm in a cast, and it's itchy.

It's also really difficult to type with.

When I shower I need to use this thing to keep it from getting wet.

I'm also going to need to rely on other activities to keep my strength up.

If I want to hit the ground running this spring, I'll need to maintain my cardio and bone

density.

We might even see a little bit of Seth's Hike Hacks.

As for the videos, they will continue on.

I can't promise anything interesting next week, but once I get back to my shop it'll

be business as usual.

I'm kind of excited for the challenge.

Since my instagram post I've been getting tons of support from you guys, sometimes in

the form of commiseration.

We all deal with injuries, some worse than others, and thankfully I'll be making a

full recovery from this.

Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes and keep an eye on my instagram for little updates

about this.

Thanks for riding with me today, and I'll see you next time.

Trump

Admin Pushing to Make Welfare Recipients Work for Food Stamps

The Trump administration wants Congress to implement additional work requirements for

food stamp recipients.

On Wednesday, the Department of Agriculture released a document detailing what principles

should be part of any farm legislation Congress comes up with.

In the document, USDA noted that it supports work as the pathway to self-sufficiency,

well-being, and economic mobility for individuals and families receiving supplemental nutrition

assistance.

Speaking Wednesday at an event on a farm near Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, Agriculture Secretary

Sonny Perdue discussed the importance of increased work requirements.

He said the Trump administration is trying to discourage a lifestyle of dependence

on the federal government.

Its evident that there are able-bodied adults without dependents who are on the food

stamp program, who we believe it is in their best interests, and their families best

interests, to move into an independent lifestyle, Perdue told reporters, according to Bloomberg

News.

During the last downturn, it became a lifestyle for some people.

We dont want it to become permanent.

The Trump administration did not say whether it plans to cut funds for the Supplemental

Nutrition Assistance Program, which covers roughly 46.5 million people.

But work requirements could be one way to save money under the farm legislation outlined

by the USDA.

In 2015, the department said that 57 percent of working-age adult SNAP recipients either

had a job or were seeking to find one, while 22 percent claimed they could not work because

of a disability, the Washington Examiner reported.

The Trump administration has previously taken steps to cut dependence on welfare programs.

In August 2017, the Department of Health and Human Services ended an Obama administration

policy that allowed states to exempt poor people from having to prove they were either

looking for a job or getting trained to do a particular task.

The waiver option offered by the Obama administration is being replaced today by

an expectation that work should always be encouraged as a condition for receiving welfare,

said Steven Wagner, the departments acting assistant secretary for children and families.

Moreover, earlier this month, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said it would

allow states to impose work requirements on Medicaid recipients.

Medicaid needs to be more flexible so that states can best address the needs of this

population.

Our fundamental goal is to make a positive and lasting difference in the health and wellness

of our beneficiaries, and todays announcement is a step in that direction, said agency

administrator Seema Verma, according to CNN.

But this move prompted backlash, with three consumer advocacy groups filing a lawsuit

in federal court Wednesday after Kentucky became the first state to require many of

its Medicaid recipients to work in order to receive benefits.

About 75 million people nationwide are covered by Medicaid.

Shell Experience at Deer Park's 125th anniversary - Duration: 6:29.

I want the people in Deer Park to realise how important Shell has been to us

as a city from the very beginning.

I think a lot of people don't realise that

and without Shell we wouldn't be here.

It's a partnership with Shell, Deer Park ISD, the city of Deer Park.

It's probably the best we've ever done.

Shell coming in with the experience and DP ISD hosting,

and then Raylynn coming in from Baytown

and the Chamber of Commerce putting everything together, it's been incredible.

What we're trying to do today is actually spend more time helping the community

understand what happens inside our fence.

A lot of times there's a mystique about it

and we just opened up today and said,

"How about we show them what goes on inside our site?"

From virtual-reality tours of the site,

where people can drive through and see what happens,

to understanding what our products do, to understanding how we operate the site.

We've tried to showcase that today.

We really hope that this community takes pride,

in that their support of us, powers progress in this world, as well,

and so that's what's here.

Deer Park was founded in 1892

by the name of Simeon H West.

He named it Deer Park for the large number of deer

that roamed the coastal prairies.

But, unfortunately, a lot of cold weather

and a hurricane in 1900

pretty much ended that.

So, Deer Park became a bit of a ghost town.

But in 1928, Shell bought some land from Deer Park

and they started to build their refinery.

And that is what brought Deer Park back.

And that's really what started the partnership between Deer Park and Shell.

This community is quite passionate about their history

because they have the distinction of the birthplace of Texas.

They have a historical committee that has honed in on the history of this city.

And we had the Historical Society at our site that used to host a museum,

so we could bring out those assets that were in the museum

and tell the story of really how the site and the city grew up together.

It also begs the question, of where are you going,

which is quite handy, because Shell is all about making the future.

And so we thought maybe we would have this idea

of going past, present and future.

So that's kind of what is here today

for all the citizens of Deer Park to go through.

Also, what our business is at Shell, so that we kind of take away the mystique,

and then where we are headed as a global company

and how Deer Park plays a role in that.

What we're trying to do today

is take down the big, high-level purpose

that you get from Royal Dutch

about more and cleaner energy and being a force for good

and operationalising that at the local level.

That's what we're trying to do. Our message has been consistent.

We want to be a welcome neighbour, we want to be here for a long time,

we want to be a force for good

and we know we power progress to a better world.

The folks on our site do amazing work.

It's noble jobs that power our industry, but it also powers progress in the world.

An example is when you go to a tent and you do the virtual-reality tour

and you find all the products in your house

that come from our industry and that we produce.

We feel proud about that. Our community feels proud about that.

We want to celebrate that together.

Shell has been our partner for years.

I don't know if many people know,

but the very first board meetings

were held at the Shell Administration Building.

They're constantly doing things for us, our outdoor learning centre,

working with the Education Foundation, with the STIM programme,

the science programme.

Incredible partnership. We've been working on this for over a year.

Totally natural. One of the best things we've ever done and very exciting.

Shell has been the single most important factor in Deer Park

since its existence.

Today's been a wonderful event.

Every stage of this planning, and all the effort,

Shell's been involved and participatory,

contributing both the man hours and also financially toward this.

But more than that, they wanted it to be a special event for the whole community.

We would not have been able to have a headlining act, such as Raylynn,

without Shell.

The opening band were Shell's 7 Mile Perimeter,

which was very special.

If you look at the activities, the events, it wouldn't have happened without Shell.

We walked through the little museum area and it was real cool.

Just to learn about the history of Shell and everything

and it's stuff that normal people wouldn't know,

unless you get to read about it.

It's the way that it should be in the community.

We should be helping our community, we should be participating

and this is a very good partnership between Shell and Deer Park.

It's good to know what Shell's doing in our community

and learned a little bit about the safety controls

and how that is in touch with the community.

It's good to know all of that stuff.

It takes the big corporation

into the small community.

The site and the community go hand in hand.

The community is the people that work on our site.

When we talk about the community, we are talking about our employees.

You want other people to tell their story, as well,

and so we asked our community partners

that we do social investment grants with

if they would come out and showcase what they're all about

and our grants that have helped them in their journey.

So today we have a number of folks from local Emergency Planning Committee,

the Deer Park Chamber with their app,

the Deer Park Education Foundation talking about the fun run,

Armand Bayou Nature Centre, the Deer Park Prairie,

and PetrochemWorks, which is about our workforce development in the area.

So it's neat for them to share their story

and engage the community in a way that really does show

how we are making the future together as industry and community

in the municipality.

We hope folks walk away with the sense that Shell really does care.

They care about being a good neighbour.

We do believe that we can be a force for good.

We want to make sure we're working with the community to be that.

Getting into our box, you can see it has the hydration theme going on on the outside.

We also have this lovely blue mermaid woman on the inside on the pamphlet

And inside of our pamphlet this month

We have a very handy infographic to decide whether or not you're dehydrated.

Sometimes you don't know.

You think that you're just cranky – but really you're dehydrated.

This can help you figure out what's really going on.

And in the box... We'll look at our sample in a minute, but first, as our director of education

What would you say is HUM's most hydrating product for skin?

It's a good question. One of our more hydrating products that I love and I take everyday is

OMG! It helps hydrate the skin from the inside out

It's full of anti-inflammatory fats like Omega-3s, and it's a really good addition to your diet.

Okay, so the last thing that we do every month is we include a different gift with our boxes

Something new to incorporate into your beauty routine and test out.

This month it's our friends at Patchology.

They have this really fun 5-minute lip mask to help hydrate your lips.

I'm so excited to try this because I get such dry, chapped lips in winter.

We have to make sure we do this one correctly...

It looks like it's going to be very squishy and it's sparkly!

This is fun.

I've never done one of these before.

I've never done this either.

It's nice that it's lip-shaped so you know exactly how to put it on.

Oh, it's so much better!

My lips feel really smooth.

Yeah, they feel not scaly anymore which is great.

You guys are gonna love this. I can't wait for you to try it.

5 New Idioms! ⛵️⛵️⛵️ Professional English | Vocabulary - Duration: 7:47.

Hello I'm Emma from mmmEnglish!

Idioms are a very common part of the English language

and I'm sure I don't need to tell you

that they're challenging to learn and use.

And that's because the meaning of the whole idiom

is often different to the individual meaning

of each word in it.

But that's no reason to jump ship!

In this lesson, I'm going to share some fantastic idioms

that are all about sailing

and of course, they're idioms.

So just because the word sail or sailing or ship or boat

appear in them,

doesn't mean that you have to be on the water

while using them.

They're all commonly used in every day situations

that have got nothing to do with sailing or boating at all!

In fact,

many of the idioms that I'll be sharing in this lesson are

frequently used when talking about work or colleagues,

often in professional context or even if

you're talking casually about work.

So let's dive in!

Starting with

to get someone on board or to be on board.

Now usually, the term "on board" is used when you're

travelling on a ship or on a plane.

When you're on board, you're on the ship

or you're on the plane.

But this concept is also used to say that someone

agrees with an idea, an opinion or a plan

to get something done.

It's to get approval or support for something.

It's a great idea,

but you need to get Simon on board

if you want to make it happen!

It's often used in business contexts

but it can be used informally

when you're trying to convince a friend to do something.

We're thinking about hiring a car for the weekend

and driving down the coast, are you on board?

That means do you agree with this or

do you want to be involved?

To jump ship.

Now, traditionally this expression was used on a boat

when a sailor left a ship without permission.

But these days this idiom is often used

when someone leaves a difficult situation

when really they should stay and deal with it.

It can also be used when a person deserts someone

or a group of people

leaving them to deal with a problem.

If I got offered the same job but with a higher salary,

of course I'd jump ship!

So I'd leave my current job and work for a company

that paid me more!

Of course I would!

I think that you should jump ship now

before the funding cuts are made!

In this context, the speaker is considering leaving the

company that they work for and looking for another job.

We need to offer our employees a competitive salary

otherwise they'll jump ship

and they'll be working for our competitors!

Smooth sailing.

Now this phrase is used as an adjective

to say that something is easy or manageable.

Progress is being made,

everything is happening according to plan.

We had some problems early on,

but it's been smooth sailing

since we hired a project manager!

Great work everyone! But, it's not smooth sailing yet,

we've still got two truckloads to unload before 9 o'clock!

That ship sailed.

Now this idiom is used when an opportunity

has been missed

and it's too late to change the situation.

Imagine that you bought tickets on an amazing cruise,

a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

and as you arrived at the port, to get on the ship,

you see it sailing off into the sunset.

You've missed it

and there is no chance

that you're getting on that boat now.

That ship has sailed.

And this context can be used or applied to any situation

where an opportunity is missed.

More often than not,

the words 'ship' and 'has' are contracted together

so it sounds like that ship sailed.

It's disappointing,

but we just need to accept that ship sailed

and move on.

Since your ex-girlfriend has just got engaged,

it's safe to say that ship sailed!

A sinking ship.

That's not a good thing, a sinking ship!

Jump off before you go down with it!

A sinking ship is a company or an organisation

that is failing.

The future is not looking good, it's doomed.

As he left the management meeting,

he realised he was on board a sinking ship.

The company was in trouble

and there were serious problems

that could affect the company's operation.

So it's a sinking ship.

It sounds like you're on a sinking ship,

I'd start looking for a new job if I was you.

To run a tight ship.

This idiom is used

to describe the way that a company or a team is run,

managed by someone with very strict

but very effective rules.

A person who runs a tight ship

doesn't allow mistakes to be made.

Our boss runs a tight ship and she expects everyone

to work very hard.

Now that Sue's left,

it's become really obvious that she ran a tight ship.

It's been absolute chaos without her!

And lastly,

enough to sink a ship.

Can you imagine how much weight it takes

to sink a ship?

A lot!

So this idiom is used when you have more

than the amount that you need.

At our family gatherings,

there's always enough food to sink a ship!

A lot - way more than we ever need.

Look at all that luggage... That's enough to sink a ship!

Well, who would have thought that there were so many

useful idioms about sailing?

And I want to know, are any of these idioms

similar to ones that you use in your own language?

Because often there are similarities

and that can make them a little easier to remember.

Of course, if you enjoyed this lesson, well,

make sure you subscribe to my channel!

You can do that right here.

In fact,

you can check out some of my other ones right here.

THE ROCK RESTAURANT ZANZIBAR VLOG - Duration: 2:59.

- We are at The Rock, the restaurant.

The place to be in Zanzibar.

Check it out.

Check it out.

(upbeat music)

Welcome to The Rock.

It is the 6th of January, 2018

and I'm at The Rock restaurant in Zanzibar.

One of the top 10 weirdest restaurants of the world

apparently and it's weird because it's literally

on a rock on a beach here in Zanzibar.

And it's low tide at the moment.

The ocean is actually several kilometres out

but very soon the waves will come in, the tide will move in

and we'll have to get a boat back from the restaurant

back to the shore bed.

At the he moment we can walk directly into the restaurant.

So, this is gonna be a fun experience.

I've never been here before.

First time.

I'm gonna show you what it's all about.

(upbeat music)

We are at The Rock.

Here's a cheers.

Cheers.

Salute.

Salute.

I went to The Rock restaurant before.

One of the top 10 restaurants in the world.

Apparently the strangest restaurant in the world.

Quite incredible.

Drop some footage so you can see it.

Highly recommend you guys check this place out.

If you ever come to Zanzibar definitely go

and check out The Rock.

The reason why it's called The Rock is

because the restaurant is on the rock,

on a rock and it's a little bit off shore.

And if it's a full tide you can't actually get to it,

so you need to get a boat to get to it.

But if it was low tide in this case

you can just walk out to the restaurant.

But it's expensive, not terribly expensive

but it's definitely worth it for the experience.

And yes, I highly recommend that one.

Definitely check that one out.

Carlist.my - Why you need to Bump! - Duration: 2:45.

Hi Guys! Aaron here from Revup, powered by Carlist.my. Today let's talk about

rising above the competition. Bump!

If you've been using Carlist.my for a while

now you probably already heard of bump. Well, what is bump? Bump is bringing up

your post to the number one slot... to the number one search page, for car buyers

to see your car ads. After all we're all looking for that one car buyer it to sell our

one car to - and we need maximum exposure to reach that car buyer. Why is being on

page ones that important? Well, being on page one means that you're giving

yourself the best chance for a car buyer to see your ad. because if you think

about it everybody who searches for car will end up on page one. As soon as they

load page one they probably see all the cars on page one and chances of the car

buyer looking at your ad it's very very high. But what about page two?

well unfortunately page two we all know some of us are lazy. If we already seen page one, if

we find the car and page ones we want we probably click on it and we won't go to

page two. So, page two let's say has about 50% of the chances of what you get

on page one which gets 100% of car buyers. What about page 3

50% again of what page 2 gets and page 4 , well fifty percent of page 3

which leaves it only at 12.5% car buyers. So, getting that one car buyer may not be

as easy as we think. After all we looking for the one car

buyer to buy a one car. If that one car buyer only lands on page one and your ads

on page two unfortunately the Car Buyer will not be able to see your Car ad and

that's where it's very very important to bump. That being said, there is actually

strategies behind ensuring that you're getting the best value of your Bump.

To find out more strategies about how to bump and get results for your car ad

if you found that the information we just shared with you useful like this

video, subscribe, comment if you got a question, we'll get back to you as soon
