Waching daily Oct 12 2018

now Thursday was day two of the National Assembly's annual audit of the

government the Parliament standing committees are inspecting government

bodies in their respective areas up for debate the possibility of soul lifting

sanctions some sanctions anyway on North Korea and the moon administration's

economic policies Kim Minji reports

the idea of the South Korean government lifting its sanctions on North Korea

stirred controversy during the audit of the Unification Ministry on Thursday

with rival parties expounding very different views the ruling party said

the sanctions do need to be eased in light of the recent reconciliatory mood

and that the government needs to step up efforts to persuade the international

community to boost inter-korean relations

don't you think South Korea at least should be urging the United Nations to

ease or lift sanctions so that the nuclearization can be sped up at this

moment in time we feel that it's too early for that

we will need to consider the North Korea u.s. summit as well as progress towards

denuclearization the opposition argued the sanctions relief can only come after

Dini for ization and that the comments by US President

Donald Trump the Seoul needs approval from Washington to lift sanctions is a

warning to the government for strength from that line

another issue up for debate was the ratification of a moment of declaration

while the ruling party said that it's needed sure that the agreement has legal

grounds to be implemented even when there is a change administration the

opposition criticized the government for not revealing the exact price tag

thought the people will have to shoulder especially house allows to modernize

railroads requires the moving of a military base on the northern side the

government needs to be precise about how much this all costs and whether it plans

to move the military base using taxpayer money such discussions have not taken

place we have not paid anything for the moving of a base and even if we carry

out the projects that is something the north should take care of on the Labor

Committee the parties argued about the government's minimum wage hike the

opposition bloc claimed that the government's policies has caused a

crisis in the job market pointing out the declining new jobs added while the

ruling party sets actual issues are to blame a Holi

contested issue out the industry committee was the government strive for

a nuclear-free energy the ruling party said that it's in line with a global

trend while the opposition raised concerns that it could lead to a surge

and electricity costs Kim Minji Arirang news

Choosing faith: Time to put faith into action! - Duration: 3:50.

The prognosis for Sebastian's future, where we're at right now,

he mainly gets all his nutrition from tube feeds.

Four tube feeds a day which are an hour long

At different times he can't move during his tube feed so that's a lot of sitting.

You have to really think about your day because you can't just jump in the car and go

because he has to do his one-hour tube feed.

We are working on meals,

but for him to finish a piece of toast, it takes one hour.

so that is how we start out the morning -

we sit on the couch, not at the table

and he goes through a piece of toast in an hour.

But that's good for him, he'll keep it down.

Of course it's a special toast, but he'll keep it down.

So we're working on foods, trying to get him to eat more foods over time.

It's really slow.

He will keep doing his treatment probably until he's ten years old,

and he does that twice a month.

Hopefully with that he will just gain more foods that now make him throw up,

but it will help him gain more control over those as time goes

so he can get more nutrition.

He is keeping up with his development with his motor skills, cognitive skills,

slowly catching up, just one by one.

I think the thing that has helped me the most was in the very beginning,

I just realized how I start it,

if I start off in the wrong way,

I will never get that ground back.

So I just had a very determined mind in God,

and just a very determined mind.

I wasn't going to even play around with doubt

I wasn't going to wonder why, I wasn't going to wish.

I wouldn't.

I kept myself ...

Even if I had a day where I was extremely tired,

I just played lots of music.

Our family loves music - we play lots of music.

Just keep it lively and just fight.

Not one day thinking, "It's okay. I'll just have one thought," like

"I wonder what would be if this," or "I wonder why that."

It's just a complete bottomless pit,

so I determined before we left the hospital,

I won't even do that one day,

I won't even have a conversation. Even if somebody says to me something,

I won't even engage in that conversation,

I will just say, "It is what it is,"

because there's nothing I can do

except hold on to the Word of God

and hold on to thoughts of a future and a hope and

thoughts for making it good right now.

That was a complete lifesaver.

With that, I thought to have that faith, then that's all words.

My words are what dictate my situation. It's what I pull in.

I can't just say in my heart "O, I have faith"

and walk around and say "I wish this and I wish that,"

and engage in empty human conversation

like "I don't know why" and "I don't understand"

and think that a good spirit is going to be with me and in my home.

And also in doing that,

I realized that there was grace to see a lot of things

that I wouldn't have seen during this time

if I had been just wishing and saying hopeless things over my situation

like, "Well, it's not easy."

Obviously it's not easy,

but I'm not going to dwell on that.

When I speak good of it,

then I find grace that even in the middle of a not easy situation,

there's a lot of peace and a lot of rest,

and I only get that because the words out of my mouth are professing over my life

and that's the spirit that we hung on to

and that really grounded us in this time.

President Moon attends Int'l Fleet Review in Jeju - Duration: 2:27.

President Moon Jae-in delivered a speech at the 2018 International Fleet Review,... which

was held in the country's southern Jeju-do Island on Thursday.

He stressed the need of a strong military in opening a new era of peace,... and delivered

a message to island residents who opposed the construction of a new naval base there.

Our Hwang Hojun reports.

The South Korean President addressed the navies of 47 other countries, sending them a message

of encouragement.

He was speaking onboard the the President's official naval ship, the Ilchulbong, a landing

vessel named after a famous landmark on Jeju Island.

"Navies all around the world have cultivated the wisdom of coexistence and cooperation.

Together we have faced new challenges.

We have brought peace through our joint efforts."

The International Fleet Review was held at the Jeju Civilian-Military Complex Port or

Jeju Naval Base, situated near Gangjeong village on Jeju's southern coast.

As stated in the event's slogan,... "Jeju, Where Peace Starts,"...

President Moon reiterated that Seoul and Pyeongyang have declared an end to military confrontation

and have begun their journey to peace,... and that such peace can only be maintained

through a strong military.

"I will make the Republic of Korea Navy more powerful so that it can contribute to peace

not only on the Korean Peninsula, but in Northeast Asia and the world."

In fact, President Moon was looking to make peace more locally as well.

"I am deeply sorry for the pain that Jeju residents have suffered because of the construction

of the naval base here on Jeju Island.

I will also do my best to heal the pain and hurt of the residents of Gangjeong Village."

Many were arrested in protests during the base's construction,... some arguing that

the base would have a negative impact on the environment,.. and others insisting the project

was pushed ahead by the U.S. to deter China, rather than by South Korea to enhance its

own defense.

During Thursday's press briefing, the Blue House spokesperson emphasized that President

Moon has always wanted to address the pain and conflict of the Jeju residents,... which

is why he decided to go to Jeju for the event in person.

Soon after the fleet review, President Moon held a separate meeting with the village residents

to offer them some words of consolation.
