Evanescence News: "Meet Jen Majura" (CC) - Duration: 7:45.

While we are writing this special episode Jen Majura turned 3 years since joining Evanescence

and we think that it is time for us to learn more about the guitarist who captures the love of the fans

and that has gradually taken center stage and refreshed the energy and environment of the band.

A couple of days ago it was 3 years since Jen Majura joined as an official and permanent member of Evanescence.

The official date of the announcement of the incorporation of Jen to the band was made on August 7, 2015 through Facebook

where it gave a sense of "forever" to Terry Balsamo, who had joined in 2003 after the departure by Ben Moody.

In the statement Amy Lee gave a warm welcome to Jen after having spent a couple of days getting

to know each other.

"Now for the exciting part of this announcement: Ladies and gentlemen, meet Jen Majura.

After scouring the globe, I found Evanescence's missing piece in South Germany.

She plays like a supervillan, sings like an angel, and laughs like a great friend.

I know you will show her all the love and respect a strong, talented woman deserves.

I couldn't be happier to welcome our new sister to the band". Amy Lee.

Jen before joining Evanescence was playing with Equilibrium as a bassist and was part of Black Thunder Ladies, Rage, among others.

The guitarist's first show with the band was in Nashville at the Marathon Music Works

on November 13, 2015,

including two other dates in the United States before performing that same month at the Ozzfest in Japan, Tokyo.

Currently Jen is 35 years old, is originally from Germany,

plays guitar, bass, drums, piano, viola, theremin, sings and composes.

She started in music at the age of 6 years, playing professionally since 2000.

Jen has two solo albums, the first self titled Jen Majura, and the second and most recent InZENity.

Another project that keeps Jen entertained is DOZ of HELL

this is a project formed with friends that seeks to meet people and play with them in bars.

One of the important novelties that Jen Majura has generated for the band

is to contribute support voices in some of the live songs

in addition to playing theremin during the live shows of the Synthesis tour.

On numerous occasions she has mentioned during her "live" on Instagram

that one of the songs she enjoys playing live most is "Disappear" from the self-titled album.

She also expressed hat her favorite moment of the tour is spending time with fans and the meet & greet.

She constantly records the previous creative process, during and after the show, where she always jokes about the amount of programs she must sign for the fans.

It arrives on August 19 and the band lands in Jacksonville to present the second part of the "Synthesis" tour

where surprisingly the band met with the ex-member and composer of Evanescence, Terry Balsamo.

The images began to appear, on instagram and Jen's publication was not expected to express her feelings towards Terry.

Yesterday was a very special day for me and I admit that I was very very nervous to meet this person.

It's always tough to fill the shoes of a person that has been writing history together with a band for so many years!

I have never met Terry before and when I heard he was coming to the show I was excited.

All I can say is that I met a very nice, sweet and humble person.

It was a bit weird as well and the whole day I didn't really know where to put myself.

It made me happy to see Terry with Amy and the boys though

In the end I was very glad that I got the chance to finally meet Terry after all these years and spend a little time with him.

The whole sequence starts

with our heroes loading up a bunch of logs

when, all of a sudden, a big horde of walkers shows up.

Oh, Jesus.

The ones that take off

cause some logs to come falling on Aaron.

[Groans]

[Walkers snarling]

Agypt: Even though time has passed,

obviously the world is still populated by walkers.

With that time passage,

Greg and the make-up effects team has

taken that into account and designed a more leathery,

worn, emaciated look to our walkers.

♪♪

-Let's roll please. -Mark!

Albinski: We have a lot of trees working in the scene.

And most of them that you'll see on camera are real trees,

but we had to build some for safely.

So here's a piece of real tree,

and this is our Sonotube tree.

We've got 8-inch Sonotube, 2-inch foam.

It's been painted by our scenic artists.

As you can see, it's soft. It's very lightweight.

I really felt like we were doing almost mime school

'cause it was so lightweight.

We had a great special-effects rig

that rotated this big log right where we needed it to be.

We had stunt people standing in the way of the log

that Aaron ripped away.

Cut!

♪♪

Turns out you can't actually hit people with real logs.

Safety first.

McLane: Sometimes, you have stunt men,

real people, getting hit with rubber logs.

Sometimes, you have fake people getting hit with fake logs.

And we might even have a chance

where we have real logs coming down the hill

and fake people getting hit with them.

I've got eight stunt-people walking up the hill...

1, 2...

...and they'll just basically throw themselves forward.

They're gonna be dumping a bunch of loose logs off the top

of our pre-existing pile of logs.

And then visual effects will put that shot together,

and you will see logs hitting people

and just wiping out a whole swath of walkers.

McLane: We're definitely gonna be augmenting

with some digital logs to make them even more dangerous

and more vicious of kills.

A lot does go into killing walkers.

It's great fun.

Great fun for the kids.

People are gonna love it.
