Waching daily Oct 20 2018

Hello friends! I decided to

peel off the wrap from my Golf GTI

I try to do that by myself

I have no idea if I can do that

it is not fully wrapped, there are only pieces of wrap on the car

I think I will get the most off of the car

Today I have staff with me who can help

Okay, I don't have much room here

therefore I cannot move the camera far away

I hope this camera angle is okay for you?

I have a hot blow dryer

I have to be careful with that, because it will get very hot

than a regular hair dryer that you can use to dry your hair

you shouldn't dry your hair with that by the way

okay, now I will...

okay, now I will start here

I just wanna try if that is possible in general

If something goes wrong it is not that bad at this position

in case it remains on the car

I don't set it too hot

yes that works pretty well

it's fiddly work

I didn't want to wash it. I'll do that later

because later

you have to wash it anyway, because of the glue

it works well!

Yes you are right, there is still something left!

okay, now...

okay!

It was very easy to peel that off here

I had no problems at all

Something that I worry about are those big grey stripes

Especially this area

the corners

I'm curious if I can peel that off without any problems

go! this dryer is very hot!

move!

the heat makes the glue liquid

and makes it easier to peel it off

if I would try it without heat

it is way more difficult! You have to pull very hard!

therefore I need a blow dryer

I have just noticed that on those edges

it is important that the dryer is not set to a high temperature

otherwise the wrap tears off

and

it already happened to me once, so there are small pieces of wrap left in the clearance

So you have to pull a little bit harder here

the choppinator is observing me

the rear of the car looks pretty naked

but it doesn't look that bad

it's just a little bit dirty

something that was difficult were the letters

there was a different wrap and the glue is still there

although I heated it up

I have to clean that with a special cleaner

Something that is not easy to peel off are the bigger surfaces

like these

you have to pull pretty hard but be careful at the same time

and don't heat it up too much

otherwise the wrap will tear off

you have to make sure that the wrap remains in one piece

it will be easier and faster then

this is already off and

let's move on the the more difficult part. Not sure

how I'm gonna do that

I have to use a different method

door handle!

I peeled everything off except this part, so I have to dismantle this

this is also fiddly work

In case you want to unwrap your car by yourself

just make sure that you have the time and the mental capability to do that

but as time goes by, you can see that the car is getting white

the front door is easy!

that works very well

Busted!

In case you are wondering why I do that and if you ask me what I'm gonna do with it when it's done...

or maybe I wanna sell it? Let me explain:

Indeed I decided to sell the car

because I had it for one year already

and I'm still very satisfied with the car

it's not like that I don't like the car

I still think that this is a great car!

I didn't drive all my cars very long

not longer than several years

and maybe I wanna have something new?

who knows?

The GTI will be gone still this year for sure

This is why I unwrap the car now and I will wash it later on

maybe I'm gonna polish it

In case there are too many remains o the car I will hand over the car to a polisher

and it will get a service too!

and then I will sell it!

and the will see what comes next

Next part is the AutoDoc sticker, but only I have to remove all stickers

and...

in case you are wondering what that is, because you have seen it in many of my videos

it's an online dealer for spare parts and supplies

I have also told you that I'm gonna make an appointment for a service

so I will order my oil online

and they have a new app

it is super easy to use, let me show it to you

this is the AutoDoc app

just enter AutoDoc

here you can add your car model

and it looks up parts for you that fits to your car

I have saved my GTI here already

And I need engine oil

How much do I need and which oil?

the OEM recommends 5W-30

Let's apply this and it shows me different oils

let's put it in the cart

Now I'm ready to buy it!

I'm a scrimper when it comes to a service and inspection

you can save a lot of money when you bring your own oil to the inspection

Please have a look at it, it is very useful!

You can also find a link to AutoDoc in the description below

Also download the app and check it out!

this hot blow dryer here

can be set up to level 10

I only use level 2

level 2 is hot enough!

you can peel of the wrap easily

it is important that you don't aim on the same spot

and also avoid to aim on the seals

just move the blow dryer all over the surface

this is the last part that I have to peel off

then it is totally white again

then it doesn't look that spectacular anymore

here you can see those useless holes

the guys from foliencenter just put the sticker above the holes

the idea was good but it didn't last that long

I used the high-pressure cleaner once and you could see holes again

but you couldn't see them as good as now

unfortunately they deliver this like that from the factory

there is a huge license plate holder that you cannot counter-order

this is why there are those holes

okay, this is all what I have peeled off of the car

let's drive through the washing bay

it looks so naked!

but I really like it in white too!

it's gonna get sold soon and when there is a buyer

there will be also a video

so I will let you know for sure when it is gone!

We will check the car once again, make an appointment for the inspection at VW

I will definately make a complete cleaning of the car

here and there are some spots with glue and also resin

but still

this is how it looks like now

so thank you very much for watching

don't forget to subscribe to my channel and leave a thumb up if you like this video

Did I miss anything?

No, see you next time!

Canada Legalizes Marijuana & Slavery Ban Goes on Colorado's Ballot | The Daily Show - Duration: 3:59.

Canada-- or as Americans know it, Plan B--

is a country many Americans envy for its universal health care,

and handsome, not crazy leader.

And as of today, Canada's prime minister

isn't the only thing that's smoking.

TV REPORTER: The maple leaf is turning green.

Starting today, Canada, our neighbor to the north,

becomes one of two countries in the world

to legalize marijuana for recreational use,

-fulfilling a campaign promise made -(audience cheering)

by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

TV REPORTER: Canada is now the biggest country

to legalize marijuana, creating an industry

worth more than $4 billion.

Wow! Congratulations, Canada.

This is great news for your economy,

but it's great news for all Canadians,

because now Seth Rogen can, uh, finally try weed.

This is fantastic.

Honestly, I-I just assumed

that they were already high all the time up there.

I mean have you seen their horses?

What the (bleep)?

And... And I'm happy for Canada, but I'm not gonna lie.

As someone who lives in New York City, this story pisses me off.

All these places are getting legal weed before us.

Like, Canada doesn't need weed, New York does.

Right now, there are angry people walking around New York,

screaming at each other, like, "Hey, I'm walking over here!"

We need the weed.

If the city legalized weed, they'd be like,

"Hey! I was, uh...

"I was doing something over-- I don't know.

You go. You go first. You go first."

Anyway, let's move on to news coming out of Colorado,

where weed is also legal.

But unfortunately, so is something else.

Next month, Colorado will vote on changing the language

of its state constitution

so that it no longer allows slavery as a form of punishment.

Slavery is technically still legal

in many states, including Colorado.

Part of Colorado's constitution reads

that there shall never be in this state

either slavery or involuntary servitude

except as a punishment for crime.

Amendment A on the ballot this year,

would change the last part to abolish slavery completely.

Yo, America.

America is real shady.

You brag about ending slavery,

but then you keep it in the fine print?

Like when Abraham Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation,

I didn't know he was like, "All persons held as slaves

are henceforth shall be freed."

(speaking fast): He's like, "Terms and conditions apply.

"Freed persons may be re-enslaved as punishment

"for crime for work, 'cause we need work done cheap and fast.

We're gonna get the people working."

-That's a slick move! -(cheers and applause)

And finally, finally, we all love grandma's cookies,

but one student in California took it a little too far.

Davis police are investigating a bizarre incident

that allegedly happened at a high school.

A male student claims he saw a girl pass out cookies

saying that she had used

her grands mother's ashes to bake them.

TV REPORTER: Officers believe as many as nine students

at Da Vinci Charter Academy High School ate the cookies.

Some, who knew what was allegedly in them.

Now, I know, I know, I know you might be thinking

that this is disgusting.

Those kids ate the cookies

knowing that there were granny ashes inside of them,

but don't judge them.

These are cookies, okay?

You would have to be a psychopath to turn down cookies.

Like, I don't know about you, but I love cookies.

If you offer me cookies, I'm always gonna eat them.

All right? You can be like, "But they contain ashes."

Okay, but do they contain cookies?

Yeah. Then we're good.

You know what, if you give me cookies and tell me

that there might be dog poop inside them, I'll eat around.

I'll just be like, "Yeah, I'll eat around the dog poop."

I'll just pull out one piece. I'll be like,

"That's the piece with the poop." And you're like,

"Oh, how do you know that's the piece with the poop?"

Good point. I might as well eat that, too, then.

I might as well eat it all. It's cookies.

What I am worried about is what if these grandma ash cookies

are the best cookies these kids have ever had?

Then they're gonna get addicted.

Then one of their other grandmas is gonna walk in the room,

be like, "Hey, boys, what are you doing?"

They'll be like, "Hello, Grandmother."

Yu-Gi-Oh! True King Dinosaur Deck Profile Post Soul Fusion - Duration: 8:22.

Yu-Gi-Oh! True King Dinosaur Deck Profile Post Soul Fusion

Hey, what is a guy is it soccer 1983 here and today's video is going to be an updated list about the

Dinosaur back together with the true king post south fusion, so let's get started and I hope you enjoy it. So

let's start with the

Dinosaurs and we got three copies of solid Oviraptor. This car is amazing

allows you to

Add one dinosaur monster from your deck to your hand or send it to your graveyard so you can dodge also

Drawn a lock bird in this way

then for the babies

We get three copies of babysitter servers and this is the best one out of the two babies

And the other one is the petite stranded on

five copies

Is okay in my opinion? I?

think that

They are enough

Then for the mono copies, we got one my girls master X. This is good because of the brass toes

the one giant Rex because

It always

Come back on the field it one missile on Azores and Wondrich Yolo. I

almost ate fire because you can

Do pretty nice combos in the first turn there for the big ones. We got two copies of the

Final conductor Tyranno, this is amazing

Both going first and second. If you go first you got a book of Eclipse

If you go second you get a book of Eclipse and you can also all the K. So

That's pretty fine. Then the one over tax

One is okay for me in this version I'm running two copies of the peel

So I think the one is okay the one dog around

Central of Hydra, it's always fine. And then the new entry is the Dino wrestler punk rock ups

This car is amazing a lot of people

speaking about playing this card

in any deck as a side that car because

This car states that you can special summon this from your hand

if your opponent controls more moss and more monsters than you do and then you can pop one dino wrestler monster and

This is a quick effect and you can pop also itself in order to pop another card that

The opponent's control. So this card is amazing and this deck in particular

We can also playing in the main deck because it's searchable. It's a dinosaur

And it's really really nice

then moving on to

True Kings we get three copies of the agony mizzou, of course fire one and three copies of the water one

Thinking about cutting the water one, maybe at true

But it's still nice because it's fodder for the others. So

It's good. And then for the hand truck package we get the

gamma

package and this

Hand rope is the best one in this deck together with the driver. Of course

Because you will do a lot of actions with no monsters on the field because we get a lot of powerful

Spell cards

As we will see now so for the spell cards, we got three copies of fossil big

So this is a first car you can activate it for for baiting an ash and then activating

gamma in response for example

You can activate the fossil mix you can activate diagrams same way

Then terraforming same reasoning two copies of their forming now

Still pretty consistent this deck

It doesn't matter if they're forming is it true then 2 copies of the double evolution pill this card is amazing

you can run also tree if you want, but I think that

tree is a little bit tricky and

Running shoe is ok. Also with the honor

would you want all vertex if you if you

Use the peel in order to some of the overt acts and then if the overt acts get destroyed you can use the second pill

By adding it directly from the first overt acts then with the one dark hole

better than right getting this duck the once our charge and the one monster reborn in order to

Spend someone back your or be Raptor and win games

then for the extra duck

We can find one capsule the one dweller the one exciting

This car is amazing nonsense. You want to know dragon the one lag? Yeah and one dolkha

For the rank for package, and I think that they are pretty enough

then for rank nines we get two copies of the true king of all calamities if you go first and you

drop calamities you

You'll you'll almost win you have almost win because this card is amazing

No one is playing forbidden chalice now. So there's no way to stop it this kind of no way to stop it

Then for synchro monsters, we get the one and two rubies because you can do it through

The calamities or cruelly reproduce the one chambre

Finally I get my hands on camera. Now that is gathered reprint and want Trishula because you can go

trishula plus calamities in first turn Kanda always

Then for link monsters we get the water polo couse

amazing card in this deck really amazing still waiting for the

Someone sorceress of course, but this is good

Anyway, especially in this deck because it's dinosaur and you can do a lot of combos

Then you want to conquer as a generic link tree you want

Beauregard

This card is amazing because you pop a lot of stuff and then you can spin someone

Stuff your popped once again to your field and continue

Your combos and then last but not least the heavy dragon. I think that's the English name

This card it's okay

and glad that this is a

Common, it's not so special but isn't this deck? It's fine

Just because this card stays that you can apply different effects in Basel

what kind what type of monsters you got in your graveyard and

The monsters included are the worm type the dragon type the dinosaur type and the sea serpent type. So

in this deck we play dragons in the form of legaia and dolkha and

Also trishula that we got into first turn we play a lot of worms

Six copies of cooking's and we play a lot of dinosaurs. So this card

will

Will will deal 100 damage if I remember well

yeah for

Each dragon type master you got in your graveyard

Then this car will gain 200 of attack for each dinosaur monster in your graveyard

And that and that's pretty huge because it's a trick a bit stick as you can see nice arrows

just for you nothing for the opponent and

If you use for dinosaurs in order to do this you already get four results in your graveyard and this car is

3,800 bit stick so

This will gain really really a lot of attack and then the worm

effect is you will

400 Life Points for each worm monster you got in your graveyard

So that's it for today. I really hope you enjoyed this video

And this new deck profile with this

Dragon here and the packet ops here if you guys are suggestions

Building The Ultimate Thunderbolt Gaming Setup - Duration: 7:13.

(upbeat music)

- Hey guys this is Austin and this

is The Ultimate Thunderbolt Setup.

This is how our project started a few months ago

when I had a conversation with Intel's Thunderbolt team

about what really to me felt like

a very obvious use-case for Thunderbolt.

A single cable powering an entire

crazy, over the top, gaming setup.

Luckily they agreed and alongside Dell, Intel was able to

sponsor this entire setup and make it happen.

The setup is built around the Dell XPS 13.

This is a terrific ultrabook.

Not only is it powered by the latest

eighth generation Core i7 processor

but you have great battery life,

a good screen, all the normal kind of laptop stuff

but what it lacks is some dedicated graphics for gaming

which is where Thunderbolt comes in.

The XPS is connected to the Aorus GTX 1080 gaming box.

This little enclosure here houses not only

a full GTX 1080 graphics card but it also

has a power supply to power not only the graphics card

and the laptop but it also has USB ports

for the rest of our accessories.

What's great about this is that with a single

Thunderbolt 3 cable your thin and light Dell

that you carry around all day long

turns into a full proper gaming setup.

There are a wide variety of Thunderbolt 3

enclosures available most of which

have graphics cards built in and those

start at around 350 dollars or so.

But there are also other options without

the GPU that you can add yourself.

So these start at around $200 and one of the ones

I recently took a look at was the Razer Core X.

This supports a full-size graphics card

with plenty of power for pretty much

anything you want to put in there.

The reason we chose to go with the

gaming box is for a few reasons.

First of all the a GTX 1080 is a lot of power

paired with an ultrabook like this

but it also has some additional features.

So first of all we have a series of USB ports

on the back which is helpful because we wanted to make sure

that all of our accessories could be wired in

with just that single Thunderbolt cable.

And on top of that this does support

a full 100 watts of power delivery

which means we don't have to charge our laptop either.

It really is one single Thunderbolt 3 cable

to make this entire setup work.

To take advantage of all this gaming hardware

we have three full monitors.

And by monitors I mean TVs.

These are TVs, they're 55 inch 4K HDR panels

so this in hindsight may have been

a little bit of overkill but I mean come on

we're building the ultimate Thunderbolt setup.

Overkill's kinda what you're here for right?

Paired with this are my favorite

gaming peripherals right now.

First of all we have the Razer Huntsman Elite keyboard.

I did an entire video about that

you should definitely go check it out.

This is straight up my favorite

keyboard that I've ever tried.

Alongside this we have the Zowie,

what is it the BenQ Zowie, FK1 I knew it it's the FK1.

This is actually the mouse I've

been using for like two years now.

Not only do I use it for editing and general use

but it is really great for gaming as well.

I probably should have know the

the name of the mouse shouldn't I have?

All this is backed up by my favorite game pad right now,

the Xbox One wireless controller.

Now this has seen a few revisions over the years

most notably it now has Bluetooth

and you can also do a cool design lab version

which maybe doesn't match with the setup but I don't care

'cause it's my custom Austin not Duncan one.

But the cool thing is this going to be

a nice benefit for when you want to play

racing games or stuff that doesn't

work well with a mouse and keyboard.

(buttons clicking)

- [Camera Man] Don't do that, that won't.

Don't do that. Stop.

- What's really cool about this is when you

sit in front of it and you realize just how immersive it is.

I mean look at this we've got three displays

all running in surround and it's so seamless.

I mean yeah the TVs have a little bit of a border

but I mean come on this is so cool.

It's almost like sitting with like a

VR headset on as opposed to three giant TVs.

Oh dude, dude (laughing) are you serious?

What? This is the point of the video

where I'm just like freaking out the whole time.

So we're playing on full epic settings too.

So right now the resolution's set to 5760 by 1080

but it's full epic basically everything.

And frame rate wise we're doing pretty solid.

I mean we're pretty much around 50 to 60 fps.

See I do a lot of videos with Fortnite right

and a lot of the time I'm playing on like

$200 PCs or like seven frames per second

on ultra low settings but this totally feels like cheating.

I mean sure when I'm looking ahead

it looks like a fairly standard field of view.

But I look left and right I could

have such a competitive advantage.

The only slight downside is that

some of the information is all the way over to the left

or all the way over to the right such as the mini map.

I mean sure you could go build

an incredibly expensive gaming PC

and get this sort of permanent setup going

but the greatest part is as soon as I'm done with this game

I unplug this single cable and I've got

my normal ultrabook that's completely portable

that I can take with me to school or work or whatever.

Wow dude this is like trippy (laughing).

It's like almost enough to get you

motion sick it's so immersive.

Alright let's do this.

I'm comin'.

(gun report)

There we go I can be helpful.

You have a very cool cape.

Dude this is so immersive I mean it's crazy

just how into the game I feel.

This feels incredibly dangerous.

I shouldn't be hiding underneath this tree right now.

I'm just gonna run, running is always a good option right?

Oh yeah. Ha ha, I like this.

(gun firing) (Austin laughs)

No, no, no, no, no, no.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

No, no, no, no, no.

That's not how this works.

That's not how this...alright well it's fine.

We came in number two.

I cannot go back to playing games on a mere single display

or a phone or a switch or a $200 laptop.

Ken don't make me go back.

Can I just do this now?

I actually might get good at Fortnite

if I play on this setup.

Next up we have Forza Horizon 4.

Not only is this one of my favorite games out there

but the PC version's actually really good this year.

Which is especially helpful when you have

three giant TVs in front of you.

If you wanna be lame you can drive outside the car

and I mean I guess that's fine but nah.

This is the way to do it.

Something I'm noticing is that the mirrors in the game

I never really paid that much attention to

playing on like Xbox but it makes

a big difference here on PC.

Not only are the reflections nice and high quality

but I can really see especially with this

right hand mirror when people are behind me.

It's a small thing but it really kinda

goes to show just how useful a setup like this can be.

See nope, nope, nope that was too aggressive.

That was too aggressive that's okay I made it.

Oh no you don't, there we go.

Little bump never hurt anybody right?

I do have the same problem as I did with Fortnite

and it's some of my information like the hud

is way too far away but I mean come on it's fine.

It's like a real race I don't need my mini map

I can just kinda drive by the

seat of my pants and the voice of the GPS.

Of course Thunderbolt is useful for

more than just purely playing games.

So not only are we adding a ton

of extra graphics horsepower to our system

but we do have all the extra USB ports and power and stuff

and we also have the ability to hookup multiple 4K monitors.

So that's something that's going to

make a big difference in things like

video editing and racing games.

But mostly video editing and creative

professional activities like drifting.

And that is the ultimate thunderbolt setup.

A lot of work went into not only our brand new set

but getting this all together.

A huge shout out to everyone here and of course

massive thank you to Intel and Dell

for sponsoring this video.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go

do some real work on my tiny XPS 13.

(hip hop music)

Most Painful Animal Attacks Human Could Ever Endure - Duration: 10:03.

This video was made possible by WIX.

If you are ready to create a website, head over to wix.com/go/infographics to try out

one of their premium plans right now.

If someone asked you what the most dangerous animals in the world were, we're willing to

bet you could rattle off a quick top ten.

But what about the most painful animals in the world?

We're talking the most painful bites, stings, and stabs in the animal kingdom!

Hello, and welcome to another episode of The Infographics Show.

Today we're going to take a look at the top ten most painful animal attacks you could

ever endure.

10.

At number ten is one of the world's deadliest animals.

It is 100 times more deadly than sharks!

Ranging from Asia to America, the crocodile claims on average about 1,000 victims every

year versus just ten by sharks.

And while it would be excruciatingly painful to be chomped on by a big great white shark,

a crocodile attack is exponentially more painful because of the crocodile's unique physiology.

That's because, unlike sharks and most other animals, crocodiles can't really chew.

Instead, they are forced to tear chunks of meat from their prey and gobble them up in

entire bites.

They do this by the dreaded "death roll" where a crocodile latches onto prey and begins

to violently roll in the water.

Crocodiles have the strongest bite force in the world.

Once the crocodile is latched on, absolutely nothing will pry it loose, and the twisting

motion of the croc's body ends up tearing loose entire chunks of flesh.

Eyewitnesses to crocodile attacks describe seeing the victims torn to pieces one roll

at a time!

9.

At number nine is an Australian native whose bite is venomous but not deadly to humans.

The Yellow-faced Whip Snake is an agile and fast predator that preys primarily on frogs,

small lizards, and lizard eggs.

Unlike most snakes, the Yellow-faced Whip Snake is fast enough to even catch lizards

at a full run!

Its bite is venomous as the bites of most snakes are, but it is not particularly dangerous

to humans.

However, victims have described the pain as an intense and incredible burning sensation

that creeps up the extremities.

Bites can also cause extreme localized swelling, and repeated exposure to Yellow-faced Whip

Snake venom makes each subsequent bite even more painful!

8.

At number 8 is a creature whose malice isn't exactly an "attack" but more of a total

infestation.

The Ascariasis roundworm is a parasitic worm that lives in the intestines of wild animals

and about 10 percent of the developing world's human population.

People can become infected via ingestion of Ascariasis eggs found in feces or soil contaminated

by feces.

Once swallowed, the eggs hatch inside of your intestine, and the young larvae enter your

bloodstream until they make their way to your lungs to continue their development.

Once fully mature, the worms then leave your lungs and make their way to your throat, at

which point you will either cough up or swallow the worms lodged in your throat!

Those that are swallowed make their way back to your intestine where they will mate and

lay more eggs - some of which will hatch while others exit through your feces.

It's disgusting, but that doesn't compare to the excruciating pain caused by a total

infestation of ascariasis, which can see the worms multiply to such numbers that they cause

a blockage of the intestines, liver, and pancreas.

These blockages can not only lead to sepsis but also create horrific stomach cramping

and pain.

7.

At number seven is a miniature terror with one of the most painful bites of all insects.

The assassin bug makes its home across the bottom 2/3rds of the continental United States.

While most bloodsuckers inject their victims with local anesthetics so they never even

realize they are being bit, the assassin bug makes its presence known with a red-hot painful

bite compared to burning coals.

As if that wasn't enough, about 60% of all assassin bugs carry Chagas disease, a parasitic

disease that is spread via their feces.

Causing heart failure and enlarged organs, Chagas disease is incurable, and, if symptoms

aren't managed, it is deadly.

6.

At number six is another snake, though this time of a far deadlier variety.

The infamous black mamba snake makes its home across Africa, and it has a bite so deadly

it can kill an adult human being in a half hour if untreated, with a fatality rate of

100%.

The black mamba's neurotoxic venom attacks the nervous system by destroying the chemicals

needed to transmit signals between nerve cells.

This leads to a paralyzing effect that can quickly shut down the lungs and heart.

Survivors often describe feeling as if their very blood was on fire, with the pain radiating

from the bite and expanding across their entire body.

5.

At number five is an arachnid from down under.

Australia's redback spider makes its home anywhere humans live, hiding out under floorboards,

book shelves, and flower pots.

Identified by a red or orange strip on top of their abdomen, they bear a striking resemblance

to the American black widow spider but are a fraction of the size.

Barely larger than a match head, the redback spider nevertheless packs one of the most

painful bites of all spiders.

Extremely venomous, bites from a redback spider can be lethal for small children.

They cause extreme pain in the affected area followed by loss of coordination, nausea,

vomiting, and sometimes even convulsions.

Luckily, only half of the population is a danger to humans, with a male's fangs being

too small to penetrate human skin.

Unluckily though, the larger females fully capable of penetrating human skin are also

extremely aggressive and will not hesitate to attack anybody that strays into their webs.

4.

At number four is a distant relative of man's best friend.

The hyena is a notorious pack killer given a very wide berth by most Africans.

While most predatory animals ensure a victim is dead before beginning to eat it in order

to prevent injury to themselves by struggling prey, hyenas show no such compulsion.

Observed eating crippled animals alive, hyenas don't bother making sure their prey is dead

before beginning a feast.

They are all too happy to settle down and start tearing pieces of flesh with their powerful

jaws the moment they've overpowered an animal.

Known for attacking sleeping campers in the bush, hyenas will often bite people's faces

and eat the soft tissues of the nose, mouth, breasts, and groin, eventually moving to the

stomach and intestines.

Victims typically take minutes to die from blood loss, though one hopes shock sets in

long before that.

3.

At number three is one of the world's most unassuming and deadliest animals.

Another native of Africa, the hippopotamus is extremely aggressive and territorial, killing

500 people a year.

Weighing in at three tons (3000 kg), they are also surprisingly fast animals, achieving

speeds of up to 18 mph (30 kph).

Hippos routinely attack swimmers, canoes, and even speedboats that stray too close.

With their massive jaws and six-inch long teeth, they have been known to bite people

in half with just one bite.

Their hyperaggressiveness often sees them continue to maul victims long after they are

dead, trampling them underfoot and even biting limbs off.

In one particularly gruesome attack in 2014, a hippo upended a boat transporting a group

of 12 children and one adult, killing all of them.

2.

At number two is a bottom dwelling fish from the West Pacific.

The infamous stonefish is perfectly camouflaged to look like ... well a stone, leading many

hapless swimmers to accidentally step on one.

The stonefish is an ambush predator, and its venom is delivered via its thirteen dorsal

spines and serves only as a protective measure.

When a swimmer accidentally steps on one, each spine can shoot several ounces of potent

venom deep into the tissues of the stonefish's victim.

Untreated, a stonefish sting can be fatal to an adult human within an hour, but even

if treated the pain will last far, far longer than that.

Victims describe how the pain at first feels like a hot torch lit directly under your foot.

The burning sensation then moves up the entire length of your body over the course of hours

as the venom courses through your blood, and it is followed by a feeling like a sledgehammer

pounding your limbs every ten seconds.

If that doesn't sound bad enough, there's also the fact that the pain can last for days.

1.

At number 1 is the hands down most deadly creature in the ocean.

None are more feared than the Irukandji jellyfish, which ranges in size from several feet to

a few inches.

The initial sting reportedly feels like a little less than a mosquito bite and is typically

ignored by victims.

However, within 30 minutes, symptoms begin to set in, including severe headaches, back,

muscle, chest, and abdominal pain with intense cramping.

Nausea, vomiting, sweating, anxiety, and hypertension quickly follow.

Perhaps the most curious symptom of all is a feeling of impending doom, with victims

so certain they are facing death they beg doctors to kill them.

If properly treated, most symptoms go away within hours, but people with particular sensitivity

can experience symptoms that last for up to two weeks, during which victims describe pain

so intense that even powerful narcotic painkillers have little effect.

When even morphine doesn't cut it, it's a little hard to blame victims for feeling like

they're going to die!

Top 10 Scary Paranormal Stories That Will Give You Nightmares - Duration: 12:38.

Most people are afraid of the paranormal because it's a topic that we don't really understand.

There have been so many stories from around the world that involve exorcisms, demonic

possession or even real life haunted houses.

So let's take a look at the top 10 scary paranormal stories that will give you nightmares

and after watching this video, you might want to start sleeping with the lights on.

How's it going YouTube?

I'm your host Landon Dowlatsingh and welcome back to another most amazing video.

If you love to watch scary videos, then click right over here.

This will take you to our sister channel called Top 5 scary videos.

Alright enough of that, let's jump right into our list.

Starting things off in at number 10 The exorcism of Anneliese Michel.

If you thought exorcisms only existed in horror movies, you are sadly mistaken.

This is a true story about a girl named Anneliese Michel who was exorcised 67 times over a nine-month

period because her relatives believed that she was possessed by six demons.

But from a young age, it was clear that she was struggling with a mental illness.

So instead of addressing this issue, she was placed on several medications to mask her

strange behaviours.

But the medication wasn't working so that's when her family reached out to several priests

to perform exorcisms on her.

At one point she began hearing voices, eating insects and coal and she would even lick her

own secretions off of the floor.

During the exorcisms the priests chained Anneliese and they lasted for about an hour.

But ultimately, Anneliese died from malnourishment and dehydration because she was being starved

to death while the exorcisms were performed.

This is so tragic and it's not even clear if she was possessed by demons or not.

What do you guys think?

Was she really possessed or was she suffering from a mental illness that wasn't being

properly treated.

Death caused by a Ouija board flies onto this list in at number 9.

There are so many cautionary tales and horror stories from people inviting demons into their

homes or being possessed by an evil spirit after they have played with their Ouija board.

But one teenager from Spain didn't listen to all of the warnings.

One day she performed a séance at school with her Ouija board.

The ritual was stopped by one of her teachers, but a group of students said that they saw

a strange smoke going up through her mouth and nose.

Over the next six months, she started suffering from seizures and hallucinations and she started

to act really violent.

But one day she was found dead in her room and the cause of her death is a complete mystery.

So, I'm warning you guys, never ever play around with a Ouija board…because you never

know what will happen to you.

Moving into number 8 we have a Real life poltergeist.

A poltergeist is a supernatural force that is capable of causing physical objects to

move or they can cause loud noises.

You might have seen Steven Spielberg's movie called Poltergeist.

Its about a family who is tormented by an evil spirit who takes one of the daughters

into another realm.

Okay I'll be the first to admit that this movie was pretty scary, but did you guys know

that this movie is actually based on true events that happened at a house in Long Island,

New York?

Well, in 1958 the Hermann's were being tortured by an evil Poltergeist who would cause bottle

lids to pop, ornaments to fly around the house, tip over heavy objects and it even caused

a virgin Mary statue to fly across the room and hit a mirror that was 12ft away.

The family called a priest who performed several rituals, but none of them worked.

They decided to move far away and never return to this house.

Yeah good idea.

If I saw something flying around my house I wouldn't stick around to see what happens

next.

I would literally pack my car and get as far away as possible.

The Amityville Horror scares us in at number 7.

The Amityville house actually exists in the small town of Amityville in Long Island.

Back in November 1974 the DeFeo family lived here and they appeared to be a normal, loving

family until tragedy struck the house.

At 3:15am the father murdered his entire family while they were sleeping because he heard

voices in the home telling him to murder them with a rifle.

After the murders, the house was empty for about a year until a new family moved in for

a cheap price.

But the Lutz family only lasted 28 days in their new home because some scary stuff went

down.

The family claimed that they saw slime coming out of the walls, knives being thrown, and

a red-eyed creature staring at them.

Is this real-life right now?

I wouldn't even last 28 minutes let alone 28 days.

Get out of there and don't look back.

The husband even said that he saw his wife levitating from their bed and he was woken

up at exactly 3:15am each morning.

I'd be on the phone with my realtor ASAP and tell them that I'm staying at an Airbnb

until this creepy haunted house is sold.

Checking into number 6 is The Stanley Hotel.

This is a resort that is in the state of Colorado.

Apparently, the Stanley Hotel is haunted by evil spirits and it inspired the classic horror

movie, The Shining.

People have said that they've seen ghost children playing on the fourth-floor hallway

and a cowboy who was hanged for murder can be seen lurking in room 428.

But out of all of the rooms at this resort, the scariest and creepiest place to stay is

in room 217.

This room is home to a dead maid who spends her time tidying up this room that she's

imprisoned in.

Guests who have stayed here have reported that they felt mysterious sensations at night

and sometimes they are punched in the ribs if they are messy.

Would you guys stay in this hotel?

I think I would stay in the super 8 just down the street.

The real life haunting in Connecticut brings us to number 5.

Within three hours of a family moving into their new home, one of the teenagers said

"Mom, this house is evil.

We need to leave here right away."

Yeah…that's not something you want to ever hear.

But despite her son's advice, the mom decided to live in that house and that decision will

haunt her for the rest of her life.

While the family was living there, they began to experience an evil force that took different

forms and would constantly slap, grope, threaten or just scare the hell out of them.

The young son saw a man with long black hair who would threaten him or just stand there

and stare.

The family called a priest who was able to perform a three-hour exorcism in order to

get rid of the evil forces inside of the house.

The house is still standing in Southington, Connecticut and the current owner who lives

there has not reported any supernatural or scary paranormal occurrences.

Haunting us in at number 4 is a Demonic possession.

Clara Germana Cele was said to have been possessed by a demon when she was 16 years old.

She was heavily influenced by satanic worshipers and she decided to make a vow to Satan.

That's when she mysteriously became possessed.

Clara started to understand and speak in languages that she's never studied, she knew everyone's

deepest and darkest secrets, and she couldn't stand to be around objects that were blessed.

She was also seen levitating up to five feet in the air and she had extraordinary strength.

Some nuns reported that she flung them across the room and even tried to choke them to death.

A priest was called to perform an exorcism which lasted about two days.

At the end of the exorcism, it was said that the demon was forced out of the girl and she

was healed.

Well I hope she learned her lesson and stopped making more deals with the devil.

The Enfield haunting brings us to number 3.

Let's go back to 1977 where the Hodgson family started seeing and hearing unusual

things.

The youngest daughter Janet says that she remembers waking up in the middle of the night

and seeing her dresser slide across the room.

As time went on, the family heard creepy knocking sounds from all over the house but the family

initially thought that it was just drifters hiding out in their home so they called the

police to investigate.

But the officer got a lot more than he bargained for.

He reported seeing a chair rise up and move on its own.

Toys began to fly across the room, the sounds of dogs barking would be heard in empty rooms

and lights would flicker.

Then one day the iron fireplace was ripped out of the wall and after that, a bunch of

paranormal investigators came to examine the house.

Ed and Lorraine Warren believed that there was a demonic presence in the house.

But two years after the hauntings began, they suddenly stopped and the family said that

nothing was done to stop them.

Up next in at number 2Robert the doll.

He is notoriously known as the world's most haunted doll.

Even just looking at him you feel uneasy and he just looks terrifying.

Here's what we know about this creepy ass doll.

He is over 100 years old and lives in a Museum in Key West, Florida.

Note to self, never visit this museum.

Anyways, this disturbing doll was previously owned by Robert Eugene Otto who received it

back in 1906 from a family servant who practiced black magic and wanted to harm the Otto family.

Robert's parents claimed that they heard their son talking with the doll and neighbors

even saw the doll moving from one room to another when no one was home.

Why are the neighbors peeping in their windows, maybe they are the creepy ones?

After Robert died, a family moved into the Otto home and their young daughter began to

see the doll in her room at night, trying to kill her.

Umm, that's when you take the doll to the backyard and burn him.

If that wasn't enough, Robert the doll was also known to cause car accidents, broken

bones, divorces and other bad things.

Robert the doll sounds like bad news.

Topping this list off in at number 1 is The true story of the Conjuring.

When the Conjuring was released back in 2013, it had a lot of positive reviews because it

was a very realistic portrayal of the demonic haunting that happened to an innocent family

in Rhode Island.

So in 1971, the Perron family moved into a farmhouse but they began to notice strange

things happening.

Items around the house started to go missing and they heard strange scratching sounds when

no one else was home.

The young girls started to see spirits around the house and for the most part they were

harmless but there were a few angry spirits.

That spirit is known as Bathsheba and the family believed that this evil spirit was

the one tormenting them.

They called Ed and Lorraine Warren to help them get rid of this evil demon but during

a séance the spirit possessed the mother's body and she starting speaking in tongue and

levitating off of the ground.

The father kicked Ed and Lorraine out of the house and they stayed there for 10 years because

they couldn't afford to move out.

If that happened to me, I would literally sleep in a tent in a church.

There's no way I would continue living there.

Well there you guys have it…

Paul Allen died of septic shock stemming from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma - Duration: 43:16.

Paul Allen's death certificate has been released, revealing that septic shock was the immediate cause of his death on Monday at age 65

The State of Washington Department of Health death certificate was filed on Friday in King County, revealing that Allen suffered from septic shock for several days before he died, TMZ reported

Septic shock is a widespread infection that can lead to extremely low blood pressure and multiple organ failure

The death certificate also notes that Allen had been suffering from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma for several years, as was widely known, and immunosuppression

Cardiomyopathy and acute kidney injury were also listed as conditions contributing to death

The Microsoft founder's death came just two weeks after it was revealed that he was battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma for the third time

It was complications from that cancer which led to his death according to his family

'While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much-loved brother and uncle, and an exceptional friend

Paul's family and friends were blessed to experience his wit, warmth, his generosity and deep concern,' said his sister Jody in a statement

'For all the demands on his schedule, there was always time for family and friends

At this time of loss and grief for us – and so many others – we are profoundly grateful for the care and concern he demonstrated every day

'  On the day of his death, Forbes revealed that Allen had donated $95 million in just the past year

Allen struck gold when he founded Microsoft with Bill Gates, his childhood friend who he convinced to drop out of Harvard to start the company

Allen had a net worth of approximately $20.3 billion and a real estate portfolio that is worth well over one-billion dollars

He also owned the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers. It was earlier this month that he announced the return of his cancer in a post he shared on social media

'Some personal news: Recently, I learned the non-Hodgkin's lymphoma I battled in 2009 has returned

I've begun treatment & my doctors are optimistic that I will see a good result,' wrote Allen

'Appreciate the support I've received & count on it as I fight this challenge.'  He refused to let the diagnosis slow him down in any way though, and vowed to continue working despite his weakened state of health

'I will continue to stay involved with Vulcan, the Allen Institutes, the Seahawks and Trail Blazers, as I have in the past

I have confidence in the leadership teams to manage their ongoing operations during my treatment,' said Allen at the time

'I am very grateful for the support I've received from my family and friends. And I've appreciated the support of everyone on the teams and in the broader community in the past, and count on that support now as I fight this challenge

' Allen was born in Seattle, Washington, where he was raised and eventually attended Lakeside School, the private learning institution where he first became friends with Gates

In their teenage years the two worked in the computer labs at the nearby University of Washington, and upon graduating Allen spent two years at Washington State University

That put him close to Gates, who was two years younger and attending Harvard at the time

Once Gates dropped out of Harvard the two got started on their new company, putting a BASIC programming language interpreter on the market in 1975 and the following year starting to build a staff

In 1978 Microsoft's revenue exceeded a million dollars and the next year the company moved from Albuquerque to Seattle

Microsoft made its next leap forward in 1980 when the company was chosen by IBM to create the operating system for its first PC

Microsoft bought the software for $50,000 from another company and called it MS-DOS

Gates insisted that IBM let Microsoft keep the copyright on the operating system in a move that ultimately led to the company's fortune

Bill Gates persuaded his old Harvard friend Steve Ballmer to join Microsoft in 1980 as the business manager

On August 12th, 1981, IBM introduced the first Personal Computer (PC), running on MS-DOS

Two years later Microsoft introduced its 'Word' word-processing program and announced plans to create a Windows operating system

The first version of Windows was duly shipped out in 1985. By this point the company was worth $140million

In 1986 Microsoft's stock went public. On the first day of trading, the share price rose from $21 to $28

The next year a young Texan woman called Melinda French joined Microsoft as a marketing manager

She and Bill started dating.By 1989 Microsoft introduced the earliest version of the Office business software suite

The next year Windows 3.0 was launched and sold 100,000 copies in two weeks. By 1991 Gates sent out a memo announcing the OS/2 partnership with IBM was over and they would focus on developing Windows

The Federal Trade Commission started to investigate claims Microsoft was monopolising the PC market in 1991

However, the investigation closed two years later without a formal complaint.Microsoft launched Windows 95 and online service MSN together in 1995

This was followed by Internet Explorer 2.0, challenging Netscape's Navigator Web browser

Gates was the driving force behind the new online focus: 'I now assign the internet the highest level of importance,' he told senior staff in a memo

In 1996 Microsoft released Internet Explorer 3.0 and Microsoft and Apple Computer agreed to share technology, setting aside a long-standing feud

Netscape asked the Department of Justice to investigate Microsoft's discount to computer manufacturers that installed Internet Explorer 3

0. in 1996.In 1997 the Justice Department sued Microsoft, saying it violated the 1994 consent decree by requiring computer makers to use its Internet browser as a condition of using Windows

The next year the Justice Department and 20 states sued Microsoft, alleging it illegally thwarted competition

One state later dropped out of the suit. The antitrust trial ran from October 1998 to the summer of 1999

In November U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson released his findings labelling Microsoft an 'abusive monopoly'

In 2000, Gates stepped aside as CEO of Microsoft and gave the post to Steve Ballmer although he remained Microsoft chairman

He also took on the title of chief software architect. That was also the year that Allen left Microsoft, agreeing initially to cede some shares in the company to Gates given that he would be handling a far greater workload

In a last second move though, Gates offered to buy Allen at a very low price, resulting in Allen leaving the company with all his shares intact

That move made him one of the richest men in the world. In June of 2000, Judge Jackson ordered the breakup of Microsoft into two companies

The Supreme Court refused to hear Microsoft's appeal of Jackson's decision, sending the case to a federal appeals court

The Court of Appeal overturned Judge Jackson's ruling to break up the company. However, it upheld his ruling that Microsoft illegally used licensing agreements with internet service providers and PC manufacturers to freeze out the Netscape browser

Once he stepped away from Microsoft, Allen devoted himself to a number of charitable and philanthropic endeavors, including the Allen Institute for Brain Science

The non-profit medical research organization was founded in 2003 by Allen and his sister Jody, and dedicated understanding the inner workings of the human brain

Allen, the owner of 42 U.S. patents, liked to cast himself as a technology visionary who drove Microsoft's early success and saw the future of connected computing long before the Internet

'I expect the personal computer to become the kind of thing that people carry with them, a companion that takes notes, does accounting, gives reminders, handles a thousand personal tasks,' Allen wrote in a column in Personal Computing magazine as far back as 1977, long before portable computers became a reality

In the same year, he outlined an early vision of what turned out to be the Internet to Microcomputer Interface magazine

'What I do see is a home terminal that's connected to a centralized network by phone lines, fiber optics or some other communication system,' said Allen

'With that system you can perhaps put your car up for sale or look for a house in a different city or check out the price of asparagus at the nearest grocery market or check the price of a stock

'Allen later called this sweeping idea the 'wired world,' which has broadly come to fruition

He was not alone in predicting connected computing but was one of the most prominent

Yet Allen's technology ventures after Microsoft, which focused on areas he thought would grow with the advent of the 'wired world,' were not as successful

He lost $8 billion in the cable television industry, chiefly with a bad bet on cable company Charter Communications, while technology ventures he bankrolled such as Metricom, SkyPix and Interval Research were costly failures

Allen did do well when it came to real estate. His enviable portfolio included properties around the globe and at sea thanks to his massive yachts

He owned at least 10 properties on Mercer Island near Seattle, Washington, where he was born and first met Bill Gates in grade school, and one island in the San Juan Islands chain

Allen had owned two islands, but sold one for $8 million in 2013 when he learned how hard it would be to build on the site

He also owned a Beverly Hills mansion he bought the same year as Enchanted Hill, a 4,000-acre Idaho ranch, a 22,000 square-foot home near Silicon valley he bought for $27 million in 2013, a $25 million Malibu home he has since sold to Les Moonves for $28 million, and a $7

5 million Thurston Estate in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. And that is just the western holdings

He also had $39 million of apartment across two floors in a Manhattan apartment building on Central Park, a $30 million mansion in St

Jean Cap-Ferrat in France as well as a pad in London's Holland Park neighborhood

Lastly, Allen also owned a 414-foot yacht called Octopus.Octopus is the 14th biggest yacht in the world and has two helicopter pads, a submarine, a swimming pool, a music studio and even a basketball court

His second yacht, Tattoosh, is 300-feet long.Allen has donated over $2 billion to charitable causes over his life and was also revealed to be a big political donor last month, having given $100,000 to Protect The House, a PAC set-up in order to ensure Republicans maintain control of Congress

The Microsoft co-founder had also recently put his 122-acre hillside spread in Beverly Hills on the market, with an asking price of $150 million

Allen bought the property back in 1997 for $20 million, and three years after that made the decision to raze the main home and all other structures on the property, with reports at the time suggesting the notoriously reclusive business magnate might be building one - or possibly even two - 50,000-square-foot-residences

That never came to be though, and Allen instead focused on improving the mile-long driveway that leads from the gates of the property to the main home and cleaning up the land

That seemed to be enough to increase the purchase price almost eight-fold, which is a bargain of sorts compared to a nearby plot of land going for $250 million that is only 100 acres and completely undeveloped or cleared

Both of the properties are listed by Hilton & Hyland, the real estate firm owned by Paris's dad Rick Hilton

The 122-acre property, named The Enchanted Hill by its first owners, was built in 1925 by legendary silent film stars Marian Seldes and Fred Thompson

The couple owned just 22 acres and used the property to house their stable of 12 horses and a massive 10,000-square-foot main home

Their dream home quickly became a haunted house, however, in 1928 when Thompson stepped on a nail one day and within three weeks had died at the age of 38 - on Christmas day

Seldes listed the home within weeks and it sold a few months later for $580,000 to Lejeune Barnes, a Texas oil magnate who held on to the property for 16 years before selling to Paul Kollsman

The German-American inventor is one of the most successful inventors in history, having patented the barometer and most of the instruments used in air travel

It was Kollsman who turned the estate into the property it is today, leaving the 10,000-square-foot home and 12 acres of gardens across the property untouched - expanding the size with the purchase of an additional 100 acres of land

Six years after purchasing the home, another tragedy occurred when Kollsman's wife Julie Dorothea Baronin von Bodenhausen, better known as Luli Deste, passed away at the age of 49, just seven years after the two married

Kollsman remarried and it was his widow Eva who sold he property to Allen. When Allen decided to forego the massive homes on the property he elected to terrace multiple plots, giving the land an appearance similar to a golf course

How two of the biggest technology geniuses in the world died youngTwo of the biggest tech influences on the world died prematurely to cancer

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen passed away aged 65 October 15, 2018 after a 32-year-battle with the disease

He left the company he started with Bill Gates in 2000 to focus on ownership of his favorite sports teams and to carrying out philanthropic projects

He was not married, nor did he have children when he died. On the other hand Steve Jobs was one of the creatives behind Apple

His business partner Steve Wozniak was known as the brains behind the brand that rivalled Microsoft throughout the years

Jobs passed away October 2011 aged 56 after complications with a relapse of his previously treated islet-cell pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor

While Jobs was the better known face between himself and his Apple business partner Wozniak, Gates was more so at the forefront when it came to his partnership with Allen

Allen and Wozniak showed a shared interest in the film industry.Steven Spielberg and his DreamWorks founding partners released a shared statement on Allen who invested $500million for them to start the company

Wozniak co-founded film studio Pixar.Allen met Wozniak in 2017 when an Apple exhibition opened at his museum in Seattle

'It's great to add to our interactive collection the supremely iconic Apple I Steve Jobs used as he and Steve Wozniak grew the company,' Allen said in a statement

'Over the years, Microsoft and Apple have been both fierce competitors and friendly collaborators, and while our approaches to the market have differed, we shared a common vision: to bring the computing world to people's fingertips

This is an exciting moment for the Living Computers: Museum + Labs.'  Paul Allen pledged to donate half his wealth in 2010In July 2010, Paul Allen vowed to give away half his fortune to help charitable causes

The promise was in response to Bill Gates' The Giving Pledge asking billionaires in the United States to hand over money to help the needy

As of 2018 185 of the world's wealthiest people had signed up to give back and of those fortunate people across 22 countries, the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and Warren Buffet have pledged

At the time of his commitment, Allen was worth around $13.5billion but he was estimated to be worth $20billion when he passed away October 15, 2018

In 2010 Allen had already given away $1billion by creating foundations and non-profit organizations

He vowed $100million would go toward setting up the Allen Institute for Cell Science in 2014

He gave more than $2billion help the arts, environment and educational causes during his lifetime

Allen founded the Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum in Seattle in 2000

Allen had also donated $95million in the past year alone.By 2010 he had made the Chronicle of Philanthropy's annual Philanthropy 50 eight times, most notably for donating $85million in 2009 and placing no

11 on the list that year.'I've planned for many years now that the majority of my estate will be left to philanthropy to continue the work of the foundation and to fund nonprofit scientific research, like the ground breaking work being done at the Allen Institute for Brain Science,' he said in a statement about the Paul G

Allen Family Foundation in 2010.  How Paul Allen persuaded Bill Gates to drop out of Harvard and create Microsoft Microsoft Corp co-founder Paul Allen, the man who persuaded school-friend Bill Gates to drop out of Harvard to start what became the world's biggest software company, died on Monday at the age of 65, his family said

Allen left Microsoft in 1983, before the company became a corporate juggernaut, following a dispute with Gates, but his share of their original partnership allowed him to spend the rest of his life and billions of dollars on yachts, art, rock music, sports teams, brain research and real estate

Allen died from complications of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of cancer, the Allen family said in a statement

In early October, Allen had revealed he was being treated for the non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which he also was treated for in 2009

He had an earlier brush with Hodgkin's lymphoma, another cancer, in the early 1980s before leaving Microsoft

Music-lover Allen had a list of high-profile friends in the entertainment business, including U2 singer Bono, but preferred to avoid the limelight at his compound on Mercer Island, across Lake Washington from Seattle, where he grew up

Allen remained loyal to the Pacific Northwest region, directing more than $1billion to mostly local philanthropic projects, developing Seattle's South Lake Union tech hub that Amazon

com Inc calls home and building the headquarters of his Allen Institute for Brain Science there

'He is under-appreciated in Seattle,' said David Brewster, founder of local news website Crosscut

com and the Seattle Weekly newspaper.'He´s remote and reclusive. There´s too much Howard Hughes in the way he behaves for Seattle truly to appreciate a lot of the good that he does

'Current Microsoft Chief Executive Satya Nadella on Monday called him a 'quiet and persistent' man who changed the world

Paul Gardner Allen was born in Seattle on Jan. 21, 1953, the son of a librarian father and teacher mother

He was two years older than Gates but when they met in the computer room at the exclusive Lakeside School in Seattle in 1968, they discovered a shared passion

'In those days we were just goofing around, or so we thought,' Gates recalled in his 1985 book The Road Ahead

Allen went on to Washington State University but dropped out in 1974 to take a job with Honeywell in Boston

While there, he pestered Gates, who was studying at nearby Harvard, to quit school and join the nascent revolution in personal computing

Gates finally agreed and in 1975 the two jointly developed BASIC software for the Altair 8800, a clunky desktop computer that cost $400 in kit form

The pair moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, close to the Altair's maker, and formed a company

It was Allen's idea to call it Micro-Soft, an amalgam of microcomputer and software

The hyphen was later dropped.Allen was in charge of Microsoft's technical operations for the company's first eight years, making him one of the handful of people who created early software such as MS-DOS and Word that enabled the PC revolution and thrust Microsoft to the top

But he had ceased to be on the cutting edge of software development by the early 1980s

He never displayed the commercial instinct of Gates, who generally is credited with powering Microsoft's rise to ubiquity in the 1990s

Allen left Microsoft in 1983 after falling out with Gates and his new lieutenant, Steve Ballmer, in December 1982, only months after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma

As he recalled in his 2011 memoir Idea Man, he overheard Gates and Ballmer secretly plotting to reduce his ownership stake

'They were bemoaning my recent lack of production and discussing how they might dilute my Microsoft equity by issuing options to themselves and other shareholders,' Allen wrote

Gates and Ballmer later apologized but the damage was done and Allen left Microsoft, although he remained on the board until 2000

Allen recovered from his cancer after radiation treatment but in 2009 was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, another form of blood cancer

He went into remission in April 2010 but the disease resurfaced in 2018. Allen held onto his share of the company

His 28 percent stake at Microsoft's initial public offering in 1986 instantly made him a multi-millionaire

His wealth peaked at about $30billion in late 1999, according to Forbes magazine, but Allen was hurt by the sharp decline in Microsoft stock after the dot

com bubble burst in 2000 and some unprofitable technology investments. In October 2018, Forbes magazine estimated his wealth at $21

7billion and said he was the 44th richest person in the world.Allen, the owner of 42 U

S. patents, liked to cast himself as a technology visionary who drove Microsoft's early success and saw the future of connected computing long before the Internet

'What I do see is a home terminal that's connected to a centralized network by phone lines, fiber optics or some other communication system,' he said

He lost $8billion in the cable television industry, chiefly with a bad bet on cable company Charter Communications, while technology ventures he bankrolled such as Metricom, SkyPix and Interval Research were costly failures

He had better luck in sports and real estate.Allen bought the Portland Trail Blazers basketball team in 1988 and became a local hero in 1997 when he purchased the Seattle Seahawks football franchise after the previous owner had tried to move the team to California

The Seahawks won the Super Bowl in February 2014 and both franchises are now valued at many times what Allen paid for them

Allen also made hundreds of millions of dollars redeveloping South Lake Union, a shabby area of downtown Seattle that became a gleaming technology Mecca and site of Amazon

com's glass 'spheres' headquarters. All the while, the never-married Allen pursued myriad personal projects and pastimes

He owned one of the world's biggest yachts, the 400-foot Octopus, which was the venue for many lavish parties and the base for scuba expeditions

A rock 'n' roll aficionado, Allen had a band on call to jam with when he wanted, and spent more than $250million building a museum devoted to his hero, Jimi Hendrix, which morphed into a music and science fiction exhibit designed by Frank Gehry

He spent millions more on a collection of vintage warplanes and funded the first non-government rocket to make it into space

He also collected priceless antiquities and works by Monet, Rodin and Rothko to put in his extensive art collection

Like Gates, Allen was a dedicated philanthropist, giving away more than $1.5billion in his lifetime and pledging to donate more than half his wealth to charity

Through various vehicles, Allen focused his giving on brain science, motivated by the loss of his mother to Alzheimer's disease, along with universities and libraries
