(funky electronic music)

(breaking rocks)

(funky electronic music)

- As you can see I actually have a mask on at this point,

because I took all that stuff,

small handfuls of it,

did not know how dusty it was gonna be

when I put it in there.

It was actually pretty terrible.

(funky electronic music)

What's up fish tank people?

Dustin's Fish Tanks bringing it to you.

Talking about a 900 gallon aquarium.

How's everybody doing?

I hope you're doing well.

So in last week's video we showed you the hardscape,

the rocks and what went into that.

The week before that we showed you the lights,

the substrate, and the filtration.

In this week's video we're gonna

tie it all together for you.

We're gonna talk about the goals the Newport

has in this aquarium, we're gonna talk about

my goals with this tank,

we're gonna talk about the plants.

We're gonna talk about what plant I went with

and why I went with them.

We're also gonna talk about the preparation

that went into preparing those plants for this tank.

I'm also gonna show you a mistake I made with the driftwood

and a behind the scenes look

at the Newport Aquarium's warehouse

where we prepped these plants.

A fish tank hoarder's dream.

(funky electronic music)

(funky electronic music)

(gun shots booming)

(funky electronic music)

And make sure you hit that subscribe button

and that notification button.

I have four more aquariums I'm doing

with the Newport Aquarium, this is just the start.

Now let's talk about something I don't want to use.

I wanted to make sure there was absolutely

no algae from the previous set up

here in this new set up.

They did a full four day blackout here,

and you can see while I'm down in this tank

how it is all taped up.

This was not an easy sell for me, however,

because this is a public aquarium,

they have lots of people going through there

and having brown cardboard over the front of an aquarium

is not exactly the look they are going for

in their exhibits.

My goal, however, was a clean, fresh start.

Let's talk about the goals here.

(funky electronic music)

(funky electronic music)

You ever head the Ludacris song too many rookies,

not enough pros?

These guys are pros.

Look down, that's like how you do it.

I was like hey yeah, we got a 700 gallon tub,

we're just gonna throw all your plants in.

So, that's one 700 gallon hygrophila set up.

That's a Reaprite 400 watt metal highlight that I love.

That's another 400 watt metal highlight.

That's two of three that are going into this tank.

Super jacked.

(funky electronic music)

(funky electronic music)

Unfortunately almost all of the crypt spiralis

still had algae all over it.

And we made a game time decision not to use

any of it in the resetting up of this tank

they only had a little bit of it saved

I thought about grabbing some of it from this

amazing rainbow fish tank they have setup there.

But then I decided, let's put a little bit of

constraints on this, I'm gonna try to pull this

aquarium off with all plants from the same genus.

All of these plants we use in this aquarium are

cousins, folks.

I figured once the hard stuff was done on this tank

that planting would be easy.

Not so much.

You see, while I think I nailed the driftwood with this

my placement of the driftwood made it just a

tad bit difficult to get in and out of this aquarium

I like the look, but I had to pay the price

when I was getting in and out of it.

A quick note on the driftwood

(funky electronic music)

So, while it was more difficult to move around

I had two things working for me that I hadn't expected.

One of my initial concerns with setting of this

aquarium was how this was going to look while I was

doing it from the inside.

Am I going to be able to see what I am doing while

I'm inside the tank?

Or am I going to have to get in and out of it,

in and out of it, in and out of it?

This tank was so big, surprisingly to me,

that I was actually able to see pretty well what was

going on the whole time.

And when I hopped out of the tank,

it looked the way I wanted it to look

when I was right in front of it.

The second thing I was able to do,

and this is a huge one folks,

I was able to get a ridiculous amount of help

from the folks at the Newport Aquarium,

handing me down plants as I need 'em.

All plants come rubber bound with foam around them

they were able to take all those off.

I would hold up a plant and say

I need about 15 of these and they were able

to hand me exactly the species I needed, when I needed.

So I was able to get into something I really

want to talk about.

If I had to get out of this aquarium every time

I needed more plants it would've taken me

twice as long, more importantly it would've

messed up something that I really got into here.

That something is what I like to call the flow.

It's a flow, folks.

Ever get into something you're having so much fun

doing on your own that you completely lose track of time?

That's the flow.

That's what I'm talking about here.

Anyone who's ever done some sort of

creative work knows, when you're in the flow,

stay in the flow!

Keep doing it, keep distractions at an absolute minimum

and stay in the flow.

And folks, I gotta tell ya, I believe my flow was

pretty on point with this.

I didn't have to hold any cameras,

people were handing me plants,

and ya boy Dusty was gettin' after it in this tank.

And it was a riot.

Being in the flow with this aquarium was

absolutely awesome for me.

I had a general plan of what I was trying to do.

We had boarded on the crypt spiralis

and we went all in on the hygrophila.

All of the plants in this aquarium

were the genius hygrophila.

But once I had the hardscape established

which was slightly different than plan,

I was able to kind of see where the plants were

going to go, to fit the flow of this aquarium.

You can see how I started with the low compacts

along the bottom, I was able to bring those to the

front to really accent the foreground.

I also brought in more of the actual rocks we used

broken up to sprinkle in more to soften the hardscape

if you will, around the foreground

and I was able to build up this nice red

kinda streak you can see here with the

hygrophila cordata red.

Channel Growth Strategy No. 9 – Can you guess it? - Duration: 6:11.

Alright, let's conquer Google as well.

YouTube big check.

Google now, too.

Let's dominate the world.

Of course, it's easier said than done.

But here again the cartwheel.

8 growth strategies that you can use in order to grow your channel.

And all of them are working for small channels as well.

So make good use of them.

As I said in the beginning depending on which stage your channel is currently in, some of

the strategies make more sense than others and the more you grow, again different strategies

start to make sense.

For me for example in the beginning collaborations as well as sharing on social media worked

really well but nowadays where I have more traffic on my channel, the linked content

approach works really well because I can add more views on top more easily because I already

have that basis traffic.

So reiterate.

Feel free to take a screenshot here so you can reiterate every now and then which growth

strategies make the most sense for you and adopt accordingly so you can climb the ladder

and get to the next level for your channel.

But you might remember, I said, since the playlist is 8+1 growth strategies, there is

one missing.

Did you find out which one it is?

Well, the point is this: We are growing our YouTube channels with the ultimate goal that

YouTube does all the promotion for us, right?

I mean, that's the reason why the YouTube algorithm is there.

It does promote our videos.

Search is one of them.

It's also a growth strategy because that bootstraps the success of our channels in

a way that we tap into the YouTube algorithm.

But the better we do that, the more audience we bring to our channel, the better we tap

into the YouTube algorithm and with that at one point more and more the algorithms – not

only search, suggested videos as well and all the other places where YouTube is recommending

our videos – is starting to self-propell.

At one point we don't have to work that hard anymore to bring in new audiences to

our channel but we still of course we have to create great content.

And the sooner we create great content – and that is basically what you see in this cartwheel

in the middle, the value – the sooner we do that, the sooner all the algorithms from

YouTube will self-propell our channel.

But one point: I mean, we are talking about quality, value and all that.

It's very fuzzy.

For the YouTube algorithm there are some key metrics that determine how much promotion

the algorithms do for our video.

And so we could do certain things in order to trigger the algorithm even more and that's

in itself a growth strategy we can say, right?

So the two main important metrics that we have for triggering the algorithm is first

of all watch time.

Obviously, that's important.

And increasing the watch time is always a good thing to invest in.

But I would say we talked enough that topic.

So let's not focus on that.

The equally important metric is the click through rate.

So the thumbnails are influencing most, first and foremost the click through rate.

And they are crucial to make the video really work with the YouTube algorithm.

That's also kind of a way of YouTube understanding this is a video of great value because more

people click on it when they see it in their recommendation feed for example.

So improving the click through rate, improving our thumbnails so that more people click,

really makes a huge difference in order to trigger the algorithm, get more views this

way.

So let's end this series with this important technique that really is just a technique,

improving our thumbnails, but really in itself also could very well be a growth strategy

by itself.

So I have two videos for you: The first one is about breaking the pattern.

As we know everything is competitive on YouTube, right?

I mean, we have to break through the competition.

That's just natural.

And it's the same thing for thumbnails.

And that is all about the first video, breaking the pattern basically.

So that break through the competition, your thumbnail stands out so that people click

your video rather than those of the other channels.

And then the second video that we have, and that completes our playlist, is a live stream

that I did with Marco.

He has mind blowing skills when it comes to thumbnails.

I never saw anyone not saying that his thumbnails really are great.

It's amazing, it's amazing.

It's a longer live stream where we talk with one another and talk about all the techniques

how to improve your thumbnails.

He shows his process and all that.

It's a little bit longer but it's so important that I would say, that's a good way to chill

out in the end, to take in the advice and with that end this series about growth strategies.

I hope you found it helpful.

Let's now end it with one really good technique, not much work, just redesigning our thumbnails.

But this can really make a big difference for our channel.

Cheers my friends.

how i pack like a minimalist - Duration: 7:40.

Hi friends,

So on this channel I talk about stories and how we can use them to try and pull the arc

of history in a more just and compassionate direction.

But what you may not know is that after my creators for change series, my most

popular video is about...packing.

Which I made like 4 years ago now,

So I think we're due for an update. Because I fancy myself like, a bit of a minimalist

And some of you have said that you're interested in that.

So, in 2015 what I did was I took a bunch of black clothes that mix and match with each other,

and I rolled them up, and put them

into a suitcase and that's pretty much what I'm still doing now,

with one major difference.

I use a regular suitcase now.

I got into this method of packing when I was in college going to study abroad in Spain

for the summer and fresh into the decluttering headspace I thought it would be a good test

to bring just one duffle bag worth of stuff to europe, because someone on internet told me that if

I wanted to buy a bag for Europe I should get something without wheels, because wheels don't

play well with that continent's many cobble stones.

I'm now old enough to have back pain for no reason, so traveling with

a duffle bag because of one very specific situation that might make wheels less convenient

doesn't make that much sense anymore.

Also I just don't have the kind of life that brings me to Europe often?

Two roads diverged on a map and I, I took the one less cobbled by.

And that has made all the suitcase.

But anyway, I just got back from a business trip that was four days long, and I'm about to go

on a vacation with my friends to Mexico, Also gonna be about 4 days, so I'll show you how I pack for both

My general formula is that I count the number of days I'm gonna be in a place and I take

exactly that many tops and half that many bottoms, and then I bring two pairs of shoes:

One that dresses things up, and one that dresses down.

So for my work trip, I was gonna be in a casual office environment, so I had to

dress up a little bit more than I would be working from home,

So for four days I packed two kind of nicer shirts, a dress, and a skirt, and a pair of

dressier shoes, and then I wore jeans, a sweater, and these more casual boots on the plane.

Okay look.

Yes.

they are all black.

You don't have to dress like a business goth to be minimalist.

You should, however, make sure everything goes together.

If you wear colors, can't relate, but you should check out the blogger Anuschka Rees,

I will link her below—she's got tons of posts, and I think even a book now?

about how to make a color pallette out of clothes you already own that you can mix and

match together.

Alright pause that for a second, there's a little bit more to the story about how I learned to pack this way

See, when I went on that duffle bag study abroad trip?

It was rebajas season, meaning that all the stores were having their end of season clearance sales

Which to me and my friends meant that we could stock up on clothes that fit our student budgets

and then spend the entire next semester saying oh this?

I got it in españa.

And look, I'm really picky about clothes, but I too wanted my perfect european fashion

haul.

So a couple times a week after class I would go to the high street area with my friends

and we would movie montage in and out of dressing rooms, trying to find the most can't-get-that-in-the-states

ensembles, and most of the time I would get back on the train empty handed except for

my bookbag I brought from home.

Another thing that people asked me a lot about in my first video is why i didn't pack underwear.

Of course I pack underwear, I'm just not gonna show it on the internet, you creeps!

So I have my bras, underwear, socks, a pair of tights to go under my skirts and a set

of pajamas are packed in this packing cube that I got for free at a conference.

For my personal item, I'm picking a bag that looks professional enough to take into

an office, that fits my laptop, chargers, a book, and my journal.

And then the other key to packing is that I hoard these little pouches that my face

wash comes in when I buy it and I use those to organize little things.

So my chargers like you saw before, my makeup goes in one, and my shampoo and moisturizer

and other liquid toiletries go in another.

And then, yep, Outfits!

Outfits!

Montage of outfits!

She works in tech and she's got a terrible secret.

Right, so as the weeks went by of my summer in spain, my friends dropped off of the shopping

trips to do other activities, like drinking in a park, or drinking in a six story club,

I was still trying to find some clothes to buy.

Because it was sale season in spain.

I ended up, in the last week or two of my term, buying two of the exact same dress—one in

black and one in pink and white.

From H&M. but it was an H&M in Madrid so like, cooler.

I didn't have enough room in my duffle bag to bring them back, so I swapped out some

of my clothes, presumably from an H&M in the states and left them behind in a donation

bin near my host mom's apartment.

We went on our business trip, now we're going to Mexico.

So same deal.

We're doing four tops, in the form of a dress, another dress, a t-shirt, and a tank

top, and four bottoms which, the dresses count as bottoms, and then we have shorts and jeans.

Underwear pajamas bathing suits blah blah blah oh look there's a color!

And then a small purse for going out at night.

We're gonna take a pair of dressier sandals, and a pair of casual tennis shoes, For our

personal item we're taking a bag we don't mind getting sandy on the beach that can hold

our laptop, some books to read, some sandals, and that journal again.

You'll notice I'm not taking a camera, because this is the first proper vacation

since, uh, yeah the time I was packing for my vacation in the first version of this video

four years ago, that i'm truly not planning on doing any sort of work whatsoever.

Also phone cameras are a lot better now, so if I really wanna capture something that'll

do.

Do we do a montage now?

Yeah, we do a montage now.

Its radish time, serving you summer goth elegance since 2014.

She goes to the beach!

She goes to da club!

She's not a vampire after all!

All of this still leaves me extra room in the suitcase if I wanted to bring back souvenirs

but the point of being somewhat minimalist is that I still, don't do that?

Like trying to shop when I travel truly does not *spark joy* for me.

If I buy anything, it's postcards that I paste in my journal or send out to patreon

patrons.

Subtle plug

One thing I regret from my experience studying abroad that I spent so much of my time trying

to acquire something to prove i'd been there.

When what I could have gotten out of being there was more stories or more sightseeing

or more spanish practice.

Especially because there's really no more annoying topic of conversation to other people

than the time you studied abroad.

So now I really don't go shopping for clothes when I travel anymore, because it turns out,

nobody really cares what country you got your black tshirt from.

In the comments, let me know what tips you have for packing light, or what you most like

to spend your time on when you travel.

I'll see you soon.

Bye

[clap]

Where You Should Stand To Avoid A Catastrophe | BCBA Self-Help Group - Duration: 4:16.

you're gonna capture more crises with your peripheral vision a lot of the

times then you will with direct so you can actually practice that skill with

identifying things that are happening in the room like right now I see Pierre on

his phone he's not being very attentive but that's okay like that preventative

type stuff down from like knowing less recursos and triggers but even if you're

not as familiar with the learner just little things like okay this this guy is

physically aggressive always have him walk in front of me feels like like

bigger than anything else there's at least if something happens you're not

getting blindsided from behind you're ready you can do some sort of crisis

intervention um it kind of reminds like a personal story there was a um a

relative of mine she actually did like one I want my calm have type work and

the learner was little older maybe like 15 16 years old but he was like like a

big guy like six for like and this particular person was just like a

regular sized girl and I I told I was like you know I'm not really comfortable

you would work into me the first place I go but he hasn't been aggressive in

years like he was aggressive like I think like five plus years ago I said

well you know still not comfortable you working with him like some like very

close to me but uh you know I tried to tell him I like do you know some

proactive stuff like always keep him in front of you or just look out for things

and for the most part like she always did but that one time he was behind her

is she's like locked him in the head this big dude you know which luckily it

was just like the one hit and that was it but at least you you know you'd be

ready for maybe to dodge it like right how the room was something like even

kids that elope like you're welcome down the street I was taught from day one

working with kids like and the community like they stay on the inside you when

you're walking on the sidewalk no matter what if the kid has a history of the low

point or not they stay and like it's just now just second nature I'm walking

with it killer disability on the sidewalk he always just goes on my left

the streets am i right someone said that you never should end this

on a bad note and that's something I always carried with me I love this even

home cases like if I was supposed to leave at 7 and I'm in its you know in a

crisis situation I will stay till 9 and I have just to

make sure that we end on that positive note to be like we're good and then

leave I love that I mean it's to which it's a good practice for a lot of

different things I mean I mean athletes do the same thing when it comes to on

practice I mean they're not gonna I mean my daughter had this like really jacked

up like messed up coach and he actually would like he would put them through a

lot of painful things emotionally and physically and hurt them and then right

when they were like crying or upset he'd be like like I'll go sit down and then

they started he started shaping up they're crying and and then they started

faking it just to get out of it that's how bad like he didn't understand the

behavioral consequences of being at first of all being and then like abusive

and then waiting until they had it like they were crying and then he would yell

out I'm having a go sedan which they would escape other girls were like

getting injured and I don't know they were always really injured they were

just tired of him being nasty but with with wrestling I would never in the

sports psychologists that were world-class sports like outdoors they

wouldn't let us end the practice until we drilled the move perfectly and I

don't know if all athletes were that way but as I mean West Virginia University

guy names it was dr. edit so the psychologists I mean these guys produced

more world champions from the riflery team and the football team that go pro

than any other psychologists around seeing sucker @xo and that was one of

his things it's like finish it strong and anyway I just I'm going all over but

I really think there's something to that and you not only did you kind of like

face your fears that individual or that learner next time saw he wasn't like I

got the best of her yeah he's like I don't know if I wanna do that again cuz

she's back

Weather Talk | Fast Russian - Duration: 2:49.

Lately, the weather in Hampton is very

strange, sometimes we have rainy and cold weather, and then we have very

warm and sunny weather.

Today it got cold, in reverse, because

I do not know why, to be honest.

We have some very strong temperature drops

now, but of course Hampton is much warmer than Novosibirsk.

I come from Novosibirsk and it's much, much

colder there, than here in Hampton.

We have snow at home still.

So of course there's nothing to compare even.

But, though I come from Siberia, I do not like cold

weather, when it's cold it's not pleasant for me,

but on the other hand I I do not like very hot weather either,

like in California I've been there a couple of times and there

well, extremely hot there, very dry and the weather is very well

hot about forty-forty three degrees Celsius,

especially if the sun is bright, it is generally very ... very

severe but i like weather which is about

twenty to eighteen probably degrees when you can

go out in a t-shirt, as well as wearing a sweater, yes.

Well, I am done with this topic.

Mandarin Duck Clings To This One Man.. | Kritter Klub - Duration: 3:07.

A bird chasing after a car?

A mandarin duck!

What are you going to do?

Stick with you of course

Follows the man

Go back home

Runs away

Wait for me!

The wild mandarin duck likes me

PD: Separate from him

Will protect him at all costs

Producers get the brunt of the attacks

Local: You can't separate them

You can't keep them apart

Tries to send the duck off

Nope.

What made the duck become so attached to him?

Was one of the ducks that he took care of while they settled here

He paid special attention to the weak mandarin duckling

All the other ducks migrated except for this one

And stayed by his side

They even watch TV together

Kiss, kiss

The mandarin duck stole my husband away from me lol

It's fine. I don't care~~

The mandarin duck depends on him

Like a father figure

It would take a lot of time and effort

I'm sad that I would have to let the duck go

But the duck belongs in the wild

The duck might miss me, and come back
