- [Michael] Uh... I'm gonna be directing a lot now.

[Michael] But I'm directing, 'My Fair Lady', and...

[Michael] 'Merrily We Roll Along' and a play called 'The Pride'.

[Michael] And a bunch of new stuff, so...

[Michael] I'm just excited to work with people

Hello once again everyone, and welcome

back to 'One English Tip in One Minute

for Spanish Speakers' where each week I

talk about, in detail, one common

English mistake made by those who speak

Spanish as a mother tongue...and this is

the 33rd video, so number 33.

Yet again, I appreciate the fact that

you are working to improve your English.

It truly is a smart and cool and

practical thing to do, so keep it up.

Again, I hope these videos are helping

you with that. In these videos, I show

you a slide and on the slide there are

two sentences: One is the correct way a

native English speaker would say it,

the other is the wrong way that many

Spanish speakers say it. Your job --

should you decide to accept it -- is to

decide which one is correct. Do that

now. Read the sentences, listen to me read

the sentences, pause the video, think

about your answer and I will talk about

the answer in the slide that follows

this slide.

OK, so how did that go? Did you get the answer?

And did you do so with confidence? If so,

good for you. It means that you don't

need to spend so much time on this. But

if you got it wrong - or you just happened

to get it right by taking a wild guess --

it means that you should study a bit

more. To start you off on that

process I've given you three sentences

to study from. Memorize these

sentences in their entirety, review them --

really get them into your head -- and put

it into practice what you've learned

through speaking or writing or both...and

just kind of repeat that process until

you finally get the bad English out of

your head and let the good English in.

It's always good to use the infinite

number of resources that are out there

to help you get past this.
