FELICIA: NEW AT 6:00, THE LEGAL
PROCEEDINGS IN AN INFAMOUS PALM
BEACH COUNTY MURDER-FOR-HIRE
CASE TAKES ANOTHER TURN.
TERRI PARKER HAS BEEN FOLLOWING
THIS CASE SINCE IT BROKE BACK IN
2009.
AND TERRI, WE'RE NOW LEARNING
ANY REFERENCES TO DALIA
DIPPOLITO ALLEGEDLY WORKING AS
AN ESCORT OR CALL GIRL WILL BE
BANNED DURING HER THIRD TRIAL.
REPORTER: ACCORDING TO THE BOOK,
"POISON CANDY," WRITTEN BY THE
FORMER PROSECUTOR IN THE CASE,
DALIA DIPPOLITO'S HUSBAND QUITE
CLEARLY STATES HE MET AND HIRED
DALIA AS A CALL GIRL WHO USED
THE NAME "DELILAH."
BUT AFTER A COUPLE OF CALLS,
THEY FELL FOR EACH OTHER AND GOT
MARRIED.
BUT JURORS WON'T HEAR THAT IN
HER THIRD TRIAL.
NOR WILL THEY HEAR ALLEGATIONS
THAT BEFORE TRYING TO HIRE A HIT
MAN, DIPPOLITO ATTEMPTED TO
POISON HER HUSBAND MIKE WITH
EITHER ANTI-FREEZE OR FREON IN
HIS TEA.
DIPPOLITO'S ATTORNEYS ARGUE THE
ITEMS ARE IRRELEVANT TO HER
CHARGES OF SOLICITION TO COMMIT
MURDER AND THAT THEY ARE JUST
DESIGNED TO PAINT HER IN A BAD
LIGHT.
THE STATE HAS EVIDENCE OF BOTH
CLAIMS BUT HAS AGREED NOT TO
PRESENT ANYTHING ABOUT DIPPOLITO
BEING A CALL GIRL OR THE ALLEGED
POISONING.
DIPPOLITO'S ATTORNEYS ARE ALSO
ASKING FOR AN ADDITIONAL SIX
CHALLENGES TO THE JURY POOL,
SAYING THE CASE HAS GARNERED SO
MUCH PUBLICITY, THEY'LL NEED 12
MORE VOTES TO WEED OUT JURORS
THEY THINK MIGHT BE PREJUDICED
AGAINST HER.
