i got really tired of just hearing her speak.

Welcome to Psych IRL my name is Donna.

So a few weeks ago one of my videos blew up and it blew up to 500 thousand views and for

a channel of my caliber aka minuscule probably non existent its kind of a big deal.

So that video was about how I got rejected at the Buzzfeed interview and that whole process.

Most of the comments were very positive and supportive.

But also another part of the comments were very negative, angry, sad, troll-y, and all

that.

I assume most of those people were Buzzfeed fans, but obviously some of them may have

just been trolls.

To be honest with you "responding to angry buzzfeed fan comments" is kind of a better

title.

So today that's what I'm going to be doing.

I had my friend Josh read some comments because he kind of looks like he works at Buzzfeed

so it's very fitting and instead of me just typing out a response to these comments, I'm

going to be responding in video format.

The reason you weren't hired was that you think it's a good idea to record a video next

to a...water fountain.

Yeah you're probably right.

1 minute into this, you just feel like some salty person that was rejected lol.

So, that Buzzfeed video was uploaded 6 months ago and just a few weeks ago it started to

blow up.

So i had to rewatch the whole thing to see what I had said that was so salty.

Specifically I rewatched the first minute and I think this is why you think I'm so salty.

Nobody likes Buzzfeed right now.

At the time I uploaded that video, it is true.

At that time nobody liked Buzzfeed.

They were peddling fake news and a lot of people were also leaving the company due to

bad company policy or whatever it is you can call it.

So, yes Kayla not a lot of people liked Buzzfeed at that time.

You're not anti trump?

This one isn't really a hate comment.

it's more of a serious question, I guess but no i do not consider myself as anti-trump.

I do not consider myself as pro-trump either.

There are a lot of things he can do better.

He can say things more tactfully.

There are also a lot of policies that I don't agree with but still I do not consider myself

as anti trump.

To me anti-trump is wishing trump would fail at all costs and yes there are some people

out there like that.

I do not wish trump will fail because what those people fail to recognize is that if

trump does fail, they live in this country too so they fail with him.

It's just disappointing that she has a platform but chooses not to say what she wants.

Okay so just to stop this.

I'm kind of flattered that you think that I have a platform.

At the time of me uploading that video I had about 4,000-5,000 subscribers and if that's

considered a platform then yay finally.

It could be because she wants to remain apolitical or maybe just doesn't get why trmp stirs too

much animosity.

Hope its the former cuz I don't want to believe she's that ignorant.

So this is a question I actually want you guys to answer.

If somebody has a platform no matter how big or small.

If you have 500 facebook subscribers or a million youtube followers, is it your responsibility

to talk about politics since you have this platform.

in my opinion, I think it'd be nice I don't think it should be a responsibility because

people highlight different issues.

Bob can be very passionate about animal rights while Susan can be very passionate about homelessness

or poverty and solving that.

Is Susan considered a bad person for not talking about animal rights?

To me the answer is no.

People highlight different issues in their minds and they can talk about the issues they're

most passionate about and for me politics is of course important but it isn't my specialty.

it isn't my forte. and this person doesn't watch my videos because I do talk about issues

from time to time but I believe where you should be getting your politics from is from

an unbiased source.

I'm human I sometimes project my biases without even noticing it so I choose not to talk about

politics as much as other people.

Also I think it'd be weird if a comedy channel like Miranda sings or something like that

would talk about politics.

i don't think she has a responsibility to talk about it.

i'm not against her talking about it at all, but I wouldn't blame her if she didn't.

Well now that you made this video, they're going to change the hiring questions, now

that we know what it is in advanced, you...So now this question is probably invalid.

Listen cupcake you don't even have to make a video, you can just submit your picture

and they'll hire you for sure.

No but in all seriousness if you're applying for a position they still have to ask you

the fundamentals.

So, if you're applying for a video editing internship or whatever they're still going

to ask you Do you know how to edit on final cut pro or adobe premier pro.

They can change the phrasing of all that stuff, but they still have to ask you the fundamentals.

At the end of the day that video was made 6 months ago.

I'm super happy that it blew up a couple weeks ago.

This comment basically sums up how I feel as of now.

I need to say that she's really good,

the name means: the virtual fox and niece of a Youtuber?

I don't know exactly what that means...

as you can imagine, she is half human and half cat,

not really, the thing is that I decided to put them at the end,

They really just want you to be the victim.

About The YouTube Partner Program Changes... - Duration: 5:34.

I didn't upload a Friday video last week.

I had some pretty cool shots for the VLOG this week but - I didn't get everything that

I wanted for the whole VLOG.

I wanted to make something more unique this week.

So, everything I shot this week will be used in next week's VLOG.

Which is going to be a little more unique than all the other ones.

And the same for this VLOG; this is more of a unique VLOG.

I'm not making it in the same kind of style I made my traditional VLOG's in because I

want to talk about something today.

And also because I don't have a complete VLOG filmed.

So, sometime in the middle of last week, I got an email from YouTube regarding the changes

to the YouTube Partner Program.

Also known as the YPP.

Now, for those who remember...

About a year ago, they made changes to the program where they required a total of 10,000

lifetime views on a channel in order to make any money via monetization.

And that's pretty fair in my opinion because 10,000 isn't really that hard to get and it's

pretty much a known amount of money.

10,000 views equates to maybe $10 more of less.

Well, they increased the requirements again and this time, you need 4,000 or more watchtime

hours and 1,000 or more subscribers.

As a result, a bunch of small channels have been hit and that includes SDGCore.

Now, this doesn't directly impact the audience unless the channel outright decides to quit,

which I've seen happen already.

But there are some indirect effects to the audience and I feel like it's kind of my duty

to disclose how this affects you guys, as my viewers.

For those of you who have been watching my channel for some time, towards the end of

last year, I think it was November.

I got my first Adsense paycheque of $109.

"Tuesday of this week, I got my first official paycheque from YouTube via Google Adsense."

It was all money I earned from making YouTube videos here on this channel, thanks to all

of you guys for watching.

Immediately, I put that money towards getting better equipment.

This was actually the first thing I bought.

This microphone is the Sony ECM-44B; it costed, I think, $210 USD.

So the Adsense dollars actually didn't even cover half of that.

But I was just so caught up in making YouTube videos and enjoyed it so much, I paid for

more than half of it out of my pocket.

And I'm not here to complain about that, in fact, I'm very happy with this purchase and

I hope that you guys are equally as happy because I think that it really took my audio

quality up a whole notch.

But the thing about these changes is, if I don't make it to the new requirements by the

20th of February 2018 (they gave me a 30-day warning - if I don't make it,) this kind of

opportunity for my whole channel.

For my community, which is you guys; it might be a long time before we get that opportunity again.

Because, while we weren't making a whole lot, we were still making a few tens of dollars a month.

That is enough for a new lens every few months, and just knowing that YouTube took that away

from you guys...

I'd be lying if I said that these changes weren't part of the reason why I didn't upload

anything for Friday.

I've been feeling a little demotivated as a result of it.

But don't worry; I'm not going anywhere, [this Friday] there is going to be another Friday video.

Instead, I kind of spent my time on the internet, talking to other fellow creators who are also

being hit by this change.

And we're getting quite a mixed bag of results, because some people actually prefer this update

whereas some are really angry about it.

I mean, there are some upsides to this.

For one, it's going to combat the spam issue, where we have videos like the Spiderman-Elsa

videos that are really just ruining the platform.

But to me, it seems more like a 'nuking the population' approach - where, sure you eliminate

all of the bad content.

But you also eliminate a good portion of legitimate creators.

And I say "eliminate" because some people are just outright quitting as a result of this.

Some are even going as far as to just totally delete all their videos and their channel,

and just close it off altogether.

It's also bringing a huge of sub4sub requests back onto the platform.

It really goes to show all the desparation that's kind of been introduced into this platform.

Now, obviously my goal is to reach this new threshold by the 20th of February.

So I can continue providing new equipment for this channel.

And I've been calculating the performance that I need to attain.

We're not too far off, so there's a good chance that we'll acutally make the threshold by

the due date, but I can't say the same for a lot of fellow creators.

And I know that many of my subscribers also happen to make YouTube videos.

So I just wanted to make this video as a way to reach out to all of you guys and maybe

we can have a conversation in the comments section below.

As usual, I will reply to most, if not all comments.

I just want to know what all of you think about the new update and whether or not you're

a creator, and whether or not it has affected you in a positive or negative way.

And then we're gonna change these scary teeth into a big giant tree so we can all climb and play on
